Firearm safety is built upon afew core principles that all gun
owners and users should adhereto, and there are four rules
that need to be followed at alltimes.
Here are those rules.
One, treat every firearm as ifit's loaded.

(01:52):
Always assume that a firearm isloaded, even if you are certain
it is not.
This mindset preventscomplacency and encourages
consistent safe handlingpractices.
Two, keep the muzzle pointed ina safe direction, always down
range.
Never point the muzzle of afirearm at anything you do not

(02:14):
intend to shoot.
This rule ensures that if anaccidental discharge occurs, it
does not result in an injury ordamage.
Three.
Keep your finger off the triggeruntil you're ready to shoot.
Keep your finger indexed alongthe side of the frame of the gun
until you are ready to fire.
Okay, this prevents accidentaldischarges caused by involuntary

(02:40):
muscle contractions.
Four, be sure of your target andwhat is beyond it.
Always identify your target.
And be aware of what lies beyondit.
This rule ensures that you donot unintentionally hit
something or someone else.
You are responsible for thatbullet.

(03:00):
Once it leaves the chamber, until it comes to a stop.
The proper handling of firearms, pistols, shotguns, is essential
to always ensure safety.
This is not just about handlingthe weapon.
But also includes both theoperation and maintenance of the
weapon.

(03:21):
When loading and unloading aweapon, always follow the
manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure the muzzle is pointed ina safe direction.
Keep your finger off the triggeruntil you're ready to fire.
Said weapon.
When carrying a firearm, eitherin a holster, a case, or by
hand, always have the muzzlepointed in a safe direction.

maintenance procedures.

(04:29):
When it comes to storingfirearms, it will prevent
unauthorized access andaccidental discharges.
By storing them in a safe orlockbox when it is not in use,
will reduce the risk or theft, and will stop someone from
playing with a firearm.
Who is not authorized to touchit or use it.

(04:52):
You don't need to break the bankfor a safe or lockbox.
You can purchase a gun safe froma big box store like Costco,
Sam's Club, home Depot, allthose track.
The supply has some excellentsafes as well.
In fact, we purchased ours fromthem.

above companies mentioned.
We have researched the safesthey sell and compare them to
others, and they are worth themoney.
Trigger locks are an additionallayer of safety, particularly

for firearms that are not storedin a safe or lockbox.
These devices prevent thetrigger from being pulled and
the firearm from beingdischarged, store ammunition in
the separate location, secure ina location away from the
firearms.
This reduces the risk ofaccidental and unauthorized use.

(06:00):
We've all been there.
Kids see something and they wantto touch it.
This is how accidents happen.
Teach kids from an early age tonot touch the firearm.
Tell them what can possiblyhappen if they do.
This is not to scare them, it'sto educate them, understanding
