Today we're gonna be talkingabout a bunch of different
(00:50):
things.
We are going to start off inregards to the, uh.
Senate Republicans, the tax billthat they're looking at would
now end federal taxes on manyguns and silences.
(01:10):
This story was done by StevenDennis and Chris Coffey, uh, for
Bloomberg Radio, and it statesSenate Republicans tax bill
would eliminate.
Federal tax and regulations onshort, barrelled rifles, short
barrelled, shotguns, andsilences, as well as preempt
(01:33):
states or local licenselicensing requirements in a win
for gun Right advocates.
The legislation unveiled by theSenate Finance Committee on
Monday would expand the houselegislation exempting silences
under the NFA, which is theNational Firearms Act of 1934,
(01:56):
saving buyers from a$200transfer tax, as well as the
manufacturing tax, legisl andother requirements.
Gun owners of America lorded themove posting on x.
Stating This is a massivevictory for the Second
Amendment.
The National Rifle Associationalso urges its members to lobby
(02:17):
Congress to keep the proposal inthe bill.
We still need to call Congressand Senate to keep this proposal
in the bill.
Um.
Emma Brown, the ExecutiveDirector of the Gun Safety
Group, Giffords, led by former, former Congresswoman, wounded in
(02:38):
an assassination attempt, a saleof the latest provision coming
after shootings of lawmakers inMinnesota.
Over the weekend, voters sentlawmakers to Washington to
protect their families, not makelife easier for hit men.
This is what she stated.
No one is better off if killershave silences or sort off
(03:00):
shotguns, except for the peoplewho make money selling them.
Americans are sick of this,okay?
Whether you have a sort offshotgun or shot off, a sort off
rifle or a silencer, it's notgoing to stop bad people from
doing bad things.
(03:21):
Just take a look at theDemocrats in office.
Said, however, Senate Democratshave already indicated that they
intend to challenge the house'sprovision as violating the
Senate's so-called bird rulelimitation on items that are not
(03:43):
primarily budgetary in nature.
They are sure to expand theirobjection to the Senate finance
tax in hopes of stripping theprovision of this bill.
The broader tax and spendingpackage is being crafted on the
special budget rules that allowsit to pass with a simple
(04:04):
majority vote rather than thefull Senate usual 60 vote
threshold.
Any Senator can force a vote tostrike any provision of the
bill.
Subject to a simple majoritythreshold, machine guns and
certain destructive deviceswould still be regulated under
(04:24):
the NFA.
So we need to continue to callour senators, call our
congressmen, get this stuffremoved.
Let's pass the short act.
Let's pass the HearingProtection Act.
It's good for law abidingcitizens.
(04:47):
Stuff needs to get passed.
It's about time that it does getpassed.
Moving on from there.
I read a great story the otherday, which I thought was
absolutely fantastic.
It should set precedent forother people around the country,
(05:09):
other counties, other mayors todo the same.
This was found on News two, awebsite and it regards the, uh,
mayor from New Jersey inEnglishtown, New Jersey, who is
refunding the fees for peoplewho apply for a carry permit and
(05:35):
the money that they have tospend.
We're gonna break that down alittle bit, but let me give you
a little about this.
According to the article, agroundbreaking move that may be
the first in the nation andcertainly in New Jersey, English
Town Mayor Daniel Francisco, hasset a national precedent by
(05:56):
initiating a policy to refundmunicipal fees for concealed
carry permits.
After the 2022 US Supreme Courtruling of the New York State
Rifle and Pistol Association vBruin, New Jersey was forced to
start issuing permits to carryhandguns without considering a
(06:16):
subjective justifiable needrequirement.
The cost of a carry permit atthe time was only 20 bucks.
Reasonable, not a problem.
The New Jersey legislaturepassed a bill.
Which among other things, raisedthe cost of a carry permit to
$200.
(06:40):
Of which 150 goes to themunicipality and 50 goes to the
state.
We are going to break this downa little bit because it's
actually$226 every two years ifyou live in New Jersey to have a
(07:00):
carry permit.
So the fees break down asfollows,$50 statutory fee due at
the time of application.
$5.
Online service fee due at thetime of application.
$18 for the two.
(07:22):
One two.
A background check fee and dueat the time of application.
$3 for the two.
Two.
A background check onlineservice fee due at the time of
application.
$150 statutory fee due toissuing authority prior to
(07:43):
receipt of carry permit.
So when you add all this up atthe time of the online fees.
You need about$76 at the time ofapplication with the remainder
$150 statutory fee due to theissuing authority prior to the
(08:09):
receipt of a carry permit.
So.
Regardless of where you are inthe state of New Jersey, when
you go to get your carry permit, you have to pay them$150.
So you should budget 226 bucksevery two years, which comes
(08:31):
down to$113 a year for you.
To carry a firearm, which isyour God-given, right under the
Second Amendment, the Bill ofRights.
That document that we have, thefirst 10 amendments, the Bill of
(08:52):
Rights, the Second Amendment, again, is number two.
Your God-given right to carry afirearm to protect not only
yourself, but your loved ones aswell.
On June 11th of this year, theEnglishtown Council in Monmouth
County, New Jersey, I.
(09:14):
On a four to one vote pass theresolution number 2 0 2 5 0 1
authorizing a refund of themunicipal portion of the handgun
carry permit fee.
This provides substantialsavings to what has been a
significant financial barrier toexercising the Second Amendment
(09:35):
rights for many of the people inNew Jersey according to the
mayor.
English town is sending amessage across the entire state
that even though the New Jerseylegislature doesn't respect our
residents, we do.
(09:55):
I'm proud to be a leader for theLiberty movement and thankful to
my council for the integrity toget this measure past.
That is what the mayor stated inan interview with News two A,
which could also be foundonline.
And it goes on to say, I've beena plaintiff in my own federal
(10:19):
cases where I've experiencedfirsthand the abuses of the
state.
It's my job as a steward of myresidents to protect them in any
way possible from those sameabuses.
I am Unapologetic Defender ofNatural Rights, and New Jersey
(10:40):
needs hundreds of othermunicipalities to make the same
principle stance for their ownresidents.
I'm calling on every mayor toshepherd their governing bodies
and to emulate thisgroundbreaking resolution passed
by Englishtown.
(11:01):
That is what the mayor.
Uh, Daniel Francesco is askingof New Jersey.
Your people are struggling.
They want to protect theirfamilies and listen, New Jersey
is not like unfamiliar withcrime.
(11:22):
They have Newark, New Jersey.
Camden, New Jersey, and a wholebunch of little other areas,
high crime rates.
Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Jersey City, New Jersey.
Remember that?
Senator Corey Booker, I believewas from Jersey City, New
Jersey.
So enough said on that.
(11:43):
Remember, he was a Democrat.
They all sent there.
And if you are in New Jersey andyou're listening to this, talk
to the people who are running.
Stop voting for these people whodon't believe in your rights.
All that they want to do iscontrol.
You, do your due diligence.
If they are a Democrat, if theyare a Republican, if they're an
(12:06):
independent and they arelooking.
To take office and sit there andsay, well, I'm gonna do this.
I'm gonna do that, and turnaround and don't do anything.
Vote these people out of office.
Get good people in there.
I think it's about time of gunowners should start running for
(12:27):
office because at least we knowthings will get done.
Uh, so there's reform policy in,englishtown New Jersey applies
to payments made on or afterJanuary 1st, 2025, and the
resolution dates effectimmediately.
(12:49):
Refunds will be issued upon theapplicant's submission to the
borough Chief Financial Officerto the CFO and have proof of
payment confirmation that theapplication was processed
through the borough.
Do that and you will get yourrefund.
(13:11):
Daniel Francisco.
Has been involved in SecondAmendment activism in New Jersey
for years, and ran on a platformfor Second Amendment.
A significant part of hismayoral campaign before winning
the GOP primary and being sworninto Office of February, 2024,
(13:36):
was that he would do the, hewould support the Second
Amendment.
You could all read onto that.
Some more on two a news.com.
Oh.
Until next time, stay safe, stayinformed, and thank you for
listening.
