S1, E10 - Defining Talent With Kristiina Hackel

Our guest for Episode 10 is none other than Kristiina Hackel, Chair of the Television, Film, and Media Studies Department at Cal State LA. An accomplished writer whose work spans genres and mediums, Dr. Hackel holds an MFA in Film Production and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from USC, and she started her full-time faculty career with Cal State LA's TVFM Department in 2004. Since then, she has served as Acting Chair, Associate Chair, Director of the MFA in Television, Film, and Theatre, and she stepped into her role as Department Chair in 2019, just months before the pandemic. It was an honor to steal her away from her always-hectic schedule to talk talent - and to totally nerd out about poetry and writing.
