(00:47):
be September ninth. As you guyshave been preparing for this tour, you
know, take us through what you'vebeen doing tour wise so far this year
and what are your what are yourfavorite songs to perform? So the last
year and a half has really beenjust an unbelievable trip for me. Things
have really started to take off.I got to make my grand Ole Opry

(01:07):
debut. I got to go playRed Rocks and Denver. I've been on
tour with Jake Owen and Brantley Gilbertand Gary Allen and doing a bunch of
headlining stuff myself. You know,we got a song racing up the charts
on the radio, and life hasbeen really good. So we put together
a live show with a ton ofenergy and we're just having as much fun

(01:29):
as we possibly can on stage. So we're excited to bring that out Yell's
Way. Now, what's so great, I think is that listeners, your
fans, they're kind of discovering you. Now it's like a solo artist because
you had a fair amount of timewith Waterloo Revival. Can you take us
through that journey, like how youstarted musically and how you got there and

(01:52):
how you became, you know,a solo artist at this point. Yeah.
So I grew up in Austin,Texas. That's where I learned to
play country music. From where Istarted, I started playing on Sixth Street,
world famous with exits on my hand. When I was about fourteen years
old, I started this band calledWaterloo Revival and we started getting a pretty
big following and selling out a bunchof clubs down there, and all of
a sudden we got Nashville's attention andgot a record deal and moved up to

(02:15):
Tennessee and got a couple of songson the radio and a little bit of
notoriety, which is something I neverreally dreamed could could be an option.
So it was a pretty wild journey, and we chased that for about eight
years. Got to do just abouteverything you can do in music, which
was pretty special. But I kindof just had this itch to make some

(02:36):
music that I was really passionate about, that I had been writing and that
I had a vision for. Andso in twenty twenty, when the world
kind of shut down, I askedout of my record deal, and I
thought I was just going to bea songwriter, and I started writing songs
for a bunch of big artists intown. I had some success with Clay
Walker and Jason Aldean and Keith Urbanand a lot of really cool stuff,
and then all of a sudden Ihad the opportunity to sign a solo record

(02:59):
deal, which I did in twentytwenty one, and started putting out some
music and it just went bang.It was instantly connected, had some stuff
go viral, and had some opportunitiesthat I never could even really dreamed about,
and and now we got a topthirty single on the radio, and
we're touring the country and and outthere making a lot of friends. So
it's it's been pretty special on toget out there and play with David Lee.

(03:20):
It's going to be a lot offun too. We've been friends for
a long time, We've written abunch of songs together, and we we
go way back, so it shouldbe a really really great show. Now
we're on with George Burge, who'sgonna be performing alongside David Lee Murphy and
Jeb Macband September ninth at Carolina Bankfield. I know that you guys go way

(03:40):
back, you and David Lee Murphy, But how did you guys give the
idea to do some shows together? You know? It was just one of
those things that he was going outthere to play and our agent had reached
out and was like, hey,we've got a slot here with David Lee.
Is that's something you're interested in?And I jumped on and immediately,
just because you know, anytime youcan get out with friends, it makes

(04:01):
it a lot more enjoyable on theroad, and we got to know each
other through songwriting. I looked athim, you know, as one of
the best in town. I don'tknow if if the listeners notice, but
David Lee's written hit songs for KennyChesney and Jake Owen and Luke Bryan and
all of these big artists in town, and so I always not to mention
having some of the biggest hits ofthe decade on his own right. And

(04:25):
so I always looked at him asa guy that I wanted to get in
the songwriting room with. And youknow, once he started to consider me
a peer and invite me into writesand we started writing songs together. We
wrote a song called look I Wouldn'tfor Waterleoo Revival that was one of our
biggest songs together. And we've hadsome outside cuts together and just got to
be really good friends. And soanytime we can get on stage and have
fun on the live set, it'sit's pretty cool too. Well, we

(04:47):
can't wait to see tickets just wenton sale today. Is that? Carolina
Bankfield, September Knife, David Lee, Murphy, George Burge, Jeb mac
