Welcome to Designer Discussions with Jason,
maria and Miriam.
Today, jason is going to talkabout the digital marketing
trends for 2025.
Welcome to the DesignerDiscussions podcast with Jason.
Maria and Miriam Tune in eachweek where we talk about

(00:21):
marketing, PR and businessadvice for design professionals.

Jason Lockhart (00:27):
Hello everyone and happy New Year's again.
This is actually a topic that Iwill be presenting on the
webinar for NKBA on the 21st, soif you have already signed up
for that, then you'll hear a lotof this same stuff.
If not, you'll have it here.
But if you want to get accessto the whole list, head to our

(00:49):
designer discussions website, tothe contact us page, leave your
information in their request tohave the trends list and we
will send that out to you.
But I'm only highlight a few ofthe trends that will be hot for
2025.
Now, a lot of the times when Ipresent this, I'll have a
designer to remodel and ask howdid you get this information?

(01:12):
Did you just head to theInternet and find it?
No?
So we actually do marketresearch every year with our own
clients.
We do it with prospects.
We actually consult with othermarketing agencies.
Also, we talk to the NKBAbecause they do a lot of this as
well.
So we compare what they come upwith, what we hear from our

(01:32):
clients, what we hear from otheragencies and just general
marketing, and then we combineall that and say which of these
will actually apply to theremodeling industry.
So this is information that hasbeen researched, that we do
every year.
So it's not just I just hoppedon here and just looked on the
internet and say these are thetrends.

(01:53):
So it's not that simple.
Like I said, if you want to getaccess to the whole list, head
to designerdiscussionscom, clickon contact us.
You want to enter in yourinformation and then have in
there digital marketing trendsfor 2025, and we'll send that
out to you.
Ok, so obviously the number onetrend everybody knows is AI.

(02:15):
That is the number one trendand it was actually the number
one trend last year.
But the thing is is that not alot of industry professionals in
the design and remodelingindustry are actually utilizing
AI like they should.
So you can go to any conference, whether it be AIA, the ASID,
which I'm sure Maria can attestto this.

(02:35):
There's not a lot of designersout there really utilizing AI
like they should and if you do,it can save you a lot of time
and money.
But there are still a lot ofdesigners that are afraid of AI
and Maria, if you hear any ofher, what she actually talks
about here on the podcast, she'll actually explain to you
how simple it is to use once youknow how to use it.

(02:59):
Oftentimes, what is afraid for alot of designers?
They don't know how to use it.
Times what is afraid for a lotof designers?
They don't know how to use itand they'll try to input in what
they believe and then theywon't get out what they're after
, and so, by not knowing how touse it, you get frustrated and
at the same time, you're like, okay, I'm not going to use it at
all.
But once you know how to talkto it whether it's chat, gpt,

(03:22):
mitt, johnny or any of theothers once you know what to say
and you get out what you need, now you can see how it could
save you time, and so that's oneof the trends that will be even
more in demand this year.
Honestly, there's a lot ofthings that are happening around
.
If you have either the newiPhone, the new Google phone, ai

(03:45):
is an aspect of that, gemini isnow hot and all that.
So AI is something that is notgoing away.
So knowing how to use it willbe vital for you to grow,
because you're going to eitheruse it and implement it or
you're going to get left behind.
So you want to be one of theones that use that consistently,

(04:05):
and Maria will be talking thisyear a lot about AI and how to
utilize that, so I'm not goingto spend a whole lot of time on
that, but I'll just say using itwill be vital.
Okay, so that's one of thetrends.
So that's one of the trends.
One of the other ones is SEO andSGE SGE, search generative that
is one of the terms.

(04:26):
Google now has AI within search.
It was actually talked aboutlast year.
It was not emphasized andutilized as much, just like AI,
but there's going to be moreemphasis on that this year.
So utilizing it is mainly, likeI said, if you have your, if
you have a new iPhone, a newGoogle phone, actually SGE is an

(04:48):
aspect of that.
Anyway, when you talk to it andyou ask it to search for
whatever shoes near me,restaurant near me, that's a
part SGE is actually using thatto turn the search of what it is
, whatever it is you ask for.
So it's being utilized more andmore.
Seo on the side a lot of peoplebelieve, with AI, seo is going

(05:11):
to go away.
Well, it's not.
It's going to only be enhancedbecause, no matter what you do,
seo is going to always be here, because when you search for
something, whether you type itin or you voice activate it.
The search engines have to findwhat you're looking for, and
one of the ways it's going tofind that is through SEO, is

(05:33):
optimizing for keywords, forsearch terms or whatever it is.
Seo is going to still be anaspect of what we do.
It's not going away.
It's only evolving, and SGE isa part of that evolution.
So that's one of the otherthings you want to look out for.
And the last thing I'm going totalk about here is you need to

(05:53):
have the content on your site.
You need to have it actuallypersonalized.
So what's going to be huge thisyear is actually
personalization.
So what's going to be huge thisyear is actually
personalization, and one of thereasons why is the first two
things I talked about AI and SEOand SGE.
With AI, ai has actually createda lot of noise around content,
so now everybody can createcontent easily.

(06:16):
But what's going to actuallyset you apart is unique content
for your audience.
What's going to actually setyou apart is unique content for
your audience.
By you creating unique, authoritative content to your
audience, that's going to helpto set you apart from the
competition.
So one way to do that is toactually personalize it.
And by knowing who your idealclient is, now you can actually
create content that willresonate with your ideal client

(06:39):
and you can actually personalizeit.
That will resonate with yourideal client and you can
actually personalize it.
And now, when anybody is lookingfor or searching for remodeling
near me, interior designer nearme, and they're of a certain
age range, income level orwhatever, and you have content
that's aimed at that actualaudience, your site, nine times

(06:59):
out of 10, will be one of theones that pulls up because you
have shown, through the contentthat's on your site, that that
is who you're targeting and ifthey're entering in, this is who
we're looking for.
They're going to spit out.
The search engines will showyour information to them.
So actually personalizing yourcontent is going to be vital for
2025 and beyond, just by all ofthe noise that's being created

(07:25):
from AI and what I just talkedabout with SEO and SGE.
So those are the topics I wantto talk about.
That is actually what I'll betalking about.
Like I said in the NKBA webinaron the 21st, it's going to be
on the top end trends for 2025.
And, like I said, if you wantto get access to that.
Go to our websitedesignerdiscussionscom head to

(07:48):
contact us.
Enter in your information and,in the comment area, say digital
marketing trends for 2025, andwe will send that out to you.
