Speaker 3 (00:41):
Woo, woo, woo woo.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
How we doing boys.
What's up Doing great Hola.
He says You're how we doingboys.
What's up Doing great Hola.
He says You're going to hear alittle something in the
background.
We're sitting outdoors, they'regetting ready to Do.
You guys practice outside allthe time.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Most of the time when we can.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
When it's not like Thanksgiving and shit.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Okay, we've gotten the cops called on this past few
times.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
We times, we become good friends, yeah, they like us
, they like our music, they makerequests, that's good, that's
good stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
When did this band come to be?
Because, like, uh, justfollowing the music scene in the
area and stuff, you guys justkind of like arrived out of
nowhere.
And then when we saw you attimber fest it was like, oh,
these guys are pretty good yeah,we got together um last year
sometime.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Uh, adam just wanted to ask me to play a show at his
bar here and I got my littlecousin Jared to come join us,
and then one thing led toanother, kind of fell into it.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Johnny's being humble .
It started as the John PC show.
It was just John and he wasplaying acoustic and he was
playing gigs and whatnot out andhe asked me if I wanted to play
the show with him, and so itwas like an acoustic and
electric thing.
I was playing electric, he wasplaying acoustic nice adam
jumped up and he started playing, and then it just kind of it
formed from there.
I don't know where this guy camefrom and then I just tagged

(01:51):
along I guess bass players neverwanted bro don't feel bad then
there, it's worked out nicely, though who gave him a?
mic.
No, but first time seeing youguys was at timber fest last
year and that was an absoluteblast.
Um, you guys were like theperfect band to start like,
because at timber fest a lot oftimes it's the acoustic and uh

(02:13):
and kind of the bluegrass andthe folky music and stuff for
most of the morning and earlyafternoon and then usually start
with your rock bands and stuff.
Then you guys popped on and didyour thing and got the
afternoon started, right youknow, and then chew toy followed
up and it was just, it was, itwas just a good way to go into
the afternoon.
So, uh, timber fest always, always a special place in my

(02:36):
heart.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Unfortunately, we're not.
We had a great time.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That was really fun opening up that electric set
like it was.
It was really cool to open thatup.
It was a lot of fun.
Unfortunately it's nothappening this year, hopefully,
hopefully next year.
But uh, no, actually saw youguys there then, like I said,
came back from that uh that umcraft brew deal up in burlington

(02:59):
, came back, saw you guys thereand then I saw you guys a couple
other times, but apparently, apparently, I don't remember it
too well.
Sign of a good time, man, weremember you it was like you all
come up and introduceyourselves.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
It's like, bro, we met and you're like yeah, I got
you met twice now, yeah, exactlyactually my first time here was
two winters ago.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
My buddy, stevie moe, was part of a comedy show that
was in here and he absolutelybombed.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
Oh no, what was his stage name?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Stevie Moe.
Stevie Moe, yeah, he was herefor a comedy show and he was one
of the first few acts that wenton.
And it's become a rule nowwhere I'm not allowed to go to
his comedy shows because everytime I show up he bombs, which
is weird, but he was likebeating himself up on the way
home.
He was like beating himself upon the way home.

(03:54):
He's like dude.
I did not read that room.
I was like you got tounderstand Galesburg bro?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
yeah, you know you got, it's a different yeah,
middle class, you got.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Upper class, you got lower class, you every color,
every nationality.
You can think of Big money, little money.
If you didn't hit it right withthat crowd or part of that
crowd, you're going to have atough time getting to all of
them, just because Galesburg's avery diverse community.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
It can get awkward up there.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
There's been a couple other comedy shows where I've
been kind of afraid.
I thought he was hilarious.
Oh yeah, he was just playing tous.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
We were on the side of the bar and he was just
crushing with us, but everybodyelse was just dead.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Not feeling it Wasn't quite dead.
Face A little more than that.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
A lot of good times to be had here.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
When did you start doing this?

Speaker 2 (04:44):
deal, adam, a little more than that Angry.
A lot of good times to be hadhere.
When did you start doing thisdeal, adam?
The patio here in GalesburgThree years ago.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
It's going on three years now.
I took over after my dad hadpassed away unexpectedly.
I didn't want to go intoanybody else's hands at that
time, I just kind of rolled thedice with it.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
And here I am, gotcha , yeah, and I got to know, I got
to know you through, okay, I'lltell you this story, to tell
you that story, but I'mliterally at my sister jess.
You all know my sister jess, yeah, yeah, I'm at her and
will's wedding and of all people, I walk my wife up to this dude
and I tell her honey, I wantyou to meet one of my best
friends in the world.

(05:29):
This is my favorite dirtball.
Do you know who we're talkingabout?
Yet Keep reaching out.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
It can't be me.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Think Liberty Street dude, Think of Brandon.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Watts, my man, my man , brandon.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
We're live, yeah, that fits perfect.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
No, I think we learned about you guys through
Brandon, which is kind of howyou guys got out to Timberfest.
But yeah, I played a lot ofmusic with Brandon back in the
day, you know back in the youngdude metal scene and then
remembering the Liberty Streetdays and it's like oh yeah, Adam
was in that band.
I'm like what?
Yeah, All right, tell us somestory.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
I kind of fell into the drums on that band.
Him and Mark Sherwin introducedme into that world of metal
because I was never familiarwith it and they had no drummers
really at that time.
So and I'm still not a metaldrummer at all, I don't do blast
beats, I'm not good on thedouble bass, but you make it
work.
I just yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I just like, hey, this is what I can do yeah, one
of my best buddies growing upwas an amazing drummer and he
wasn't, I want to say a metaldrummer, but he's just a whiz at
music theory and knew how totransition from one part to the
next and made it work.
So it's awesome.
So you guys have been doingwhat?
Two or three gigs a month, orso far We've taken kind of a I

(06:53):
wouldn't say a hiatus, but we'veslowed down a little bit.
We were cooking there for alittle bit.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Yeah, over the summer we had a little downtime over
the winter.
As someone ends, life happensAbsolutely.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
We're back in the runs.
Yep, awesome, you bringing newstuff out.
Are you still rocking the sameset right now?
We're always bringing new stuffout.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Always bringing new stuff out.
Every show's new.
Like what?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
we think, like to say every show's different, like
usually we got our songs that weplay and then like in between
songs we like to.
You know, we've become more ofa jam band in that sense where
we jam from one to the other.
We don't introduce songs, wekind of let them flow into each
other.
Hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Speaking of new stuff , if you guys don't mind me
saying.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Go ahead, jared, take the lead.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
We have a band name change too.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
We are now called the People.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Next Door.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
The People next door.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
I did.
I had to relinquish my name.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
We just took a giant crap on all of the buildup I've
been doing over the last fewweeks.
Just kidding.
No, john put me in on that.
He goes.
We're going to drop that onpodcast.
But yeah, you guys are going tochange up the name yeah, so
where did that idea come from?
Just everybody's sick oftalking about John.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
We won't say that.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
I'm never tired of talking about myself, but I had
to let these guys get some ofthe spotlight.
I mean, it started with me justdoing my solo show and it's not
really that set anymore.
It's not that same thing.
Right, We've grown.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
It's become a full form band.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
We needed to drop that old school stuff and go on
with our own thing.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It was just something to hold us over until we knew
we were going to change the nameeventually, but it was just
something to hold us over forWell like you said, you were all
just kind of thrown up on stage, started playing, figuring it
out, and you're just like, well, let's just roll with this name.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah, exactly, we might want to think about
changing that someday we didn'tnecessarily know how long this
was going to go on and you know,it kind of became more stronger
than ourselves.
You know, Yep, Yep.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
For sure.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Rolling strong, though, oh for sure, yeah,
having a great time with it, Imean so much fun.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
It's a lot of fun.
Got to ride your wave whileyou're having it Well, since we
haven't done this yet.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Yet why don't we do a round table and just who you
are and what you do and go fromthere?
Oh, starting on the bass, I'mjosh.
I know everybody wants to hearme first.
Huh, he's got a dude.
I I walk into.
I walk into the patio here andjosh is sitting there.
He's like the only one Irecognize.
So I'm like, okay, I know, Iknow who the other three look
like, but I know josh.
So I walk in and I'm like, hey,he goes, he goes.
Hey, how you doing man, youwant a shot?
I'm like I'm here and so he'seating these tacos.
I'm like I gotta have thosetacos.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Oh, man, I had to eat the tacos before I could do
anything today, man.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Dude, it was so good.
Yeah, the tacos.
How were they?
They were fire.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Good good, the tacos were fire.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Who?
Well, I guess I'll pass it toyou, John.
My name is John PC, formerly ofthe EJOP.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Formerly of the EJOP.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
If you haven't gathered that, Take a good look
folks Last time you'll see themis the John PC show.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Mr Pacheco.
Yeah, I'm Adam Pacheco and Isit in on the drums for this
band.
I'm not a drummer, he's aspecial guest.
He doesn't want to be late.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
You sat in on the drums with the John PC show, but
now you're the drummer for theguys next door.
I like how that goes.
So I'm Jared Cox.
I'm the lead kazoo player.
Kazoo yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
We told him not to bring it.
He brought one on him, man,he's always got one on him.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Kazoo.
No, I'm the lead guitar playerOf, I guess, the people next
door now Heck.
Yeah, I really like the sound, because Some people would call
it like psychedelic rock, somepeople would call it alternative
, some people would call itbluesy, almost at times Like,
where did the sound come from?
Or was it just something thatyou started, everybody built

(10:49):
around?
Or was it like you all kind ofthrew your influences together?

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, it's kind of a.
You know it's a mix of all ofus.
We all come from differentbackgrounds.
You know, like I've kind ofmore of a you know, psychedelic
reggae vibe, sure Jaredobviously he's a blues master
Absolutely.
Checo brings that hip-hopinfluence to us.
Well, we got Josh over there.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Hey, I'm Josh on the bass.
He has no influences, he justhits it.
I'm the glue that holds thisship together.
Josh is really good.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
He's our foundation.
He holds the rock there.
The MVP Doing proper bass holdsthe rock there, because the MVP
Doing proper bass Keep going, guys, keep going.
You don't hear it when it'sthere, but you notice it when
it's gone, you know 100%.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
That's like you guys said, the top 10 stereotypical
nice things to say about a bassplayer.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
I was reading off my phone.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Am I done here now.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
That can be arranged.
No, josh crosses it.
I mean he's just gotten betterand better and better ever since
we've been playing.
I mean, when's the last timeyou played in a band?

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Yeah, me and Josh, we were in our first band together
.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, me and Johnny were in high school.
Here in Galesburg.
Here in Galesburg.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
What was that called?
We were called the Tubies.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Who knows what that means.
My children love that TVchannel, by the way, tubie.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Yeah, it's free To everybody.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
No wonder we didn't get any royalties off of that
there's Tubies flying aroundwaiting to sting.
And there were three of us.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
There's three of us, but we were Tubies who knows man
.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
But yeah, josh has come a long, long way.
I got him to pick up the bassagain after a few years and he
flowed right back into it.
You know he's just gettingbetter and better.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
He flew right back in and stung us.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
God.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Now I'm a people next door, that's right.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, you are one of the neighbors.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
That nobody wants to have Brother brother.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
We're not reading off the list anymore.
I guess you guys are done withme.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
I thought this was a podcast.
I'm here for a tryout.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
You're up, man.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
We'll get another one that looks just like him.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Are they abundant in Galesburg nowadays, or what?

Speaker 1 (13:01):
What bass players?

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Let's change the subject.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
This is the first band I've ever been in music.
Let's change the subject.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
This is the first band I've ever really been a
part of that's actually playedout.
I've been recruited todifferent bands and whatnot, but
I've never actually gone outand gigged.
This is my first time, and thisis the band you ended up in, I
kind of.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I'm loving every second of it.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
John said I own you, You're my cousin.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
I used to change his diapers.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
We don't need to go into that.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
But you're a blues guy, huh yeah, oh nice.
My dad got me into the blueswhen I was real young and I
never even really wanted to playguitar.
He just got me a guitar when Iwas eight because he saw me
playing air guitar to I think itwas Sweet Home Alabama in his
computer room.
Guitar to uh, I think it wassweet home alabama in his
computer room and I was justjamming to it and he was like
you know what, I'm gonna get hima guitar.
So he got me one and I neverreally touched it and then he
brought me to a blues concert.

(13:51):
I'm like that's what I want todo.
I I kind of feel this vibewhere it's like venus and
serena's dad taking him totennis courts just like these
are my girls watch him play likehe found out you could play and
all of a sudden he startsfeeding you all this music and
pushing you out in front ofpeople.
Yeah, in a sense yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Who was the cat you grew up next to?
That was in the Buckshot.
Oh, Ian Johnson.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Yeah, he lived right down the hall from my dad's
apartment and I'd hear him play.
He was the person that tunedrestrung my first guitar.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Sure, yeah and those cats are really good.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
What was that band?

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Buckshot Johnson and the Midnight Creepers.
Those guys are awesome.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Is that a Galesburg thing?

Speaker 5 (14:33):
They just threw that name together for a show here at
the patio.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
I was going to say I've never heard of that name
before.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
There are old school cats that have been a part of a
lot of good bands.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
They played on the Redstone Room before, at least
his old band did Ian Johnson's.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
yeah, there's some OGs.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Adam, you've done a few bands on town, haven't you
over?

Speaker 5 (14:50):
the years.
Yeah, I've been part of InSounds with Diego Perez, Mark
Sherwin and a couple other guys,Liberty Street.
Yeah, I've sat in with CasperShy, Songwriter D-Web, at Summer
Camp Music Festival.
Yeah, just done a lot ofoddball stuff.
I did not pick the drums, theyliterally just kind of picked me

(15:15):
.
I played the bass.
That was my first instrumentback in high school, then
acoustic guitar.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
So watch out, Josh.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Hey, I can play the drums a little too, man, mm-hmm.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Might as well, just switch now.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
You're a new man, new name, just.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
You know, switch it around New beginning.
Before you know it, it'll bethe Adam Pacheco show.
We're all gonna turn it thisway the other guys next door.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Well, uh, yeah, we got Kind of Talk about where we
got the name, yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
We had a.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Song.
We still have a song Called thePeople Next Door.
So we went ahead and you knowit's a new song.
It was a song I wrote, kind ofI've always had always had these
weird neighbors around, youknow, and we, like, we made a
joke at home, like man, what wasthe weird?
Well, eventually I became thereal weird neighbor, those weird
neighbors.
They moved out and then we gotstraight neighbors next to us.

(16:07):
I'm, I'm like, well, now I'mthe people next door.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
When we were first singing, I felt attacked because
you said drinking all mywhiskey and sleeping on my couch
.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
I'm like, is that me?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
That's you Wait, he's the guy that comes in and
drinks the whiskey.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Without you knowing it, before it's.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
But he's the guy that comes into the patio and orders
a high noon.
Yeah, you're a diverseindividual.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
It involves in cities Throughout the day, throughout
the day.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
It's a process.
We got that yeah we can do that.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
The show at Bushnell here coming up at the VFW June
29th.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Oh yeah, That'll be fun.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Big golf outing.
Yeah, we're going to do that inthe morning.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
That'll be interesting.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
So we'll get all the golfers when they're done, when
they're nice and lifted, gettheir spirits lifted even more
from us.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
You have to enter a certain zone to understand the
guys next door.
Exactly, don't come into a guysnext door show completely sober
.
I hope they dig us.
Nah it'll be a good venue, likethe vfw is just loves doing
stuff like this.
We like we had in-laws andoutlaws last night and uh, how

(17:19):
was that turnout?
it was pretty good.
You know they had a goodturnout.
They had like a all 80s decadeuh class reunion thing in
bushnell, that's cool.
So like they had a bunch offolks out and they were bouncing
between that and Revel and Red,I don't know, if you know
they're like a rock band coverband that played.
They played in town too, andit's just a good night, good

(17:41):
night for music, good night forBushrock Is it going to be?

Speaker 5 (17:44):
inside or outside?
It's not going to be inside,we're going to stay in the AC.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
That sounds good.
That's okay, but we told oursound guy too, so that works.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Yeah, after this, we're practicing outside and it
is a hot one today.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
At least the sun's going down.
Yep, jared is our fair-skinnedindividual friend.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Fair-skinned bear.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Look at this hat line and you guys got the one video
up on YouTube, and stuff too, which is a song called Shoes.
Is that right, that's?

Speaker 3 (18:11):
correct.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
That's one of Johnny's oldest songs and I've
always loved playing that thatsong's morphed itself.
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
It started as a song about peace.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Well, it started as a bluegrass song, really like
back when I was in my bluegrassdays and it was about an old
girlfriend I had, that you know.
That eventually moved out.
She took everything out exceptleft a closet of shoes.
So you know, I just kind ofSold them huh.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
When I had to do something with them.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
I was down and out and kind of thinking of things
and I was like, well, let me putthis to something positive and
maybe make some creativity outof it.
So I put the shoes out in themiddle of my floor in this big
circle and I started playing theguitar around them.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
And you sold them.
Well, we'll get to that.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
It's neither here nor there.
I may have got a few bucks outof them.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
I'll tell you a funny story.
I think that was probably oneof the first songs that John
taught me how to play, becausewhen I was growing up, I always
wanted to show him how I playedguitar.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Well, your mom always wanted me to see you play and I
was like, alright, he's like 12.
We'll see.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
Kind of blowing me off.
One time I got him during afamily event and I'm like come
upstairs with me right now, I'mgonna show you me playing guitar
like okay, okay, let's see.
And then I played and he waslike all right, you're good duck
, we'll play together you'remine now you don't know what you
wrote yourself into like youwanted this man like I said,

(19:43):
that's probably one of the firstsongs that we ever played
together yeah, we did some eventthings.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
We played at Noodles Nick.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Barmenter's Remembrance, and that's when you
guys were doing the acoustic.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Yeah, kind of acoustic electric thing.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Way back.
You were playing with somebody,a girl.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
I was playing in Streets Ahead.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Was it her shoes.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
No, no, no, you don't shit where you eat.
You can, but it gets messy yeah.
It gets real messy yeah, andweird, but yeah, I've been in a
couple bands with some femalefriends of mine and it's always
worked out pretty well.
I think at the time, yeah, wewere with Streets Ahead that was

(20:27):
Whitney Roberts and Noodle andthen I played with Eric
Baumgartner and Nicky Noodle.
We were in a band called Lastof their Kind, but, yeah, we
were trying to take somethingoff with the Me you, Josh,
Noodle and, I think, Ritney atone point.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
We were trying.
Yeah, we were trying.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
In the basement.
Yeah, so how is music and stuffdoing in galesburg nowadays?
It always seemed like there wasalways something going on.
You didn't really know what itwas until like last minute, but
yeah there was always somethinggoing on in galesburg.
It was usually like it at thetracks or billiards on may or or
something like that.
There was always a show goingon.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Yeah, that was doing a good job.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Now, though, bringing a lot of.
Yeah, it went away for a whileand and I really feel Adam and
the Patio here has reallystrengthened the scene in town.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Absolutely For sure People from out of town too.
Yeah, which just had a bandfrom Nashville, yep.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Who was that?

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Friday Friday night, nice, david Young and the
Interstate Kings from.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
Nashville, tennessee.
Those guys were rowdy yeahthree brothers.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
How'd you get hooked up with them?
They called the patio and justkind of linked up man.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Shot the shit on the phone.
They were coming through thearea.

Speaker 5 (21:33):
Yeah, they did a self-made tour, summer tour.
That's awesome, yep, good guys.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Yeah, those guys were pretty cool and then you get
married and you have kids.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Then all those self-made tours are just like
well, I gotta make rent nextmonth.
They're all like 22, 23, sowith girlfriends.
Yeah, how that's awesome.
I remember the day.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
What's what's Cobain's group called, that's
Nirvana.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
We got a friend.
We got a friend Insom right.
Is that what he goes by, insomyeah?
Insom Cobain yeah, he's gotsome pretty good stuff going on.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
Shout out to Cobain.
Shout out Cobain.
He's our little boy.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
He's our.
We took him under our wing.

Speaker 5 (22:18):
He's been there from the beginning.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Yeah helping us out, Setting up the stage, I mean
solid.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
So good to us.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Helping us set up and everything.
They're awesome.
Yeah, from day one.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Loading equipment, taking it where it needs to go.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Yep, they came all the way to Macomb with us.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
That's when we first started and we were doing like
four hour gigs.
We're trying foot like justabsolutely didn't know where we
fit in as a band.
We're like are we a four-hourcover band?
You know, bar band.
And we dwindled down to threehours, you know for an x amount
of dollars, and then we dwindleddown to two out, you know now
we've all agreed to be like.
You know, like hour and a halfwe're, we're a band now.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
We're not just a bar band.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
We're, we're a band, nothing is that covers, and I
think we had like one or two, if, if, even that, and we made
them our own.
Yeah, we had all mine.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
Now we've doubled that probably in the new songs
that we've written.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
One of our jams is like 10 minutes.
They range from 7 to 10 to 12minute long.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
Well, that's the genre though too, like you know,
playing the kind of stuff youguys like, it's very melodic,
it's very organic, solo-drivenat times.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Yeah, you'll never hear the same show once or twice
.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
We'll have an hour and a half up there, no breaks,
nothing like that, because wefound when we take a break and
come back, it's not the same.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Energy changes.
The people that are there thatwant to see us start there at
the beginning and then theydon't get to see the really
heady, fun stuff that we do atthe end of the night.
So we like to just have it allhappen at once.
You're here for the show, buythe ticket, stick around.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
And Jess helped out with getting you guys at the
cafe show in Macomb.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Oh yeah, definitely it was really cool.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Unfortunately, I couldn't make that one.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
That was a really fun one.
That, that one, but that was areally fun one that was a
halloween little halloween, spooky ghoulish there you go.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
It's such a crazy, crazy narrow venue but it works
for macomb it just and they kindof asked us there.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
They were like well, what kind of genre are you guys?
And I was like man, you tell usI really don't know you're
gonna have to tell us like, because you know we got blue
songs, we got reggae songs, wegot jam band songs, you got rock
songs, and the guy at the endhe's like yeah, I really don't
know what you guys are, but itwas great, we'll have you back
well, that's what makes itawesome you take all these

(24:40):
different stylistic influencesand you cram it into one
beautiful patio taco, a littleslop.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Oh man, that's good.
You want another one, don't you, travis?
I'm thinking about it.
The next one's on me, brother.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I'm on it.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
A space player, josh, buying tacos.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
No, not for you guys, dude, just Travis.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Bad mates could piss off.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
Do you still jam?

Speaker 2 (25:07):
I jam a little bit.
It's tough.
With other musicians Like itdepends on the day, I guess.
You know you got a certaingroup of guys you like to play
with, certain group of guys youcan play with, and then it's
like how much headache do I wantto go through to play music, or
do I just want to chill in myrecliner?

Speaker 4 (25:27):
It just depends on the day.
That's the thing about gettingolder.
You know you got to try to findit in when it ends.
We do our practices at 7 amSunday mornings, that's my day
off.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
It's 7 am on Sunday.
Yeah, and we try to stick to.
That's where I'm at church, bro.
That's what we call it man.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
That is our church.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
We try to wake up.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
They're not very appreciative.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Are you jamming outside at 7 am?
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (25:54):
Well, that was like 10.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
Oh yeah, call him on his last break.
Well, that was at like 10, so Imean.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
Yeah, there's no noise.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Just leave us alone, guys, just enjoy the music.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Some people.
Just, he's like Well, when areyou guys Going to be done?
He's like I don't care, we'relike 11 o'clock.
He's like that's fine.
And he's like I won't be back.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
But that was at night or that was, and someone's
bitching about 10 am in themorning, yeah, but they won't
bother us at 8 am.
Is there like a church nearby?

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Just us.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
This is the church.
Reach their home.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
We're playing and all of a sudden Adam just runs off
stage and I'm looking at Joshand Johnny and I'm like what is
going on?
And they're kind of lookingaround.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
He sees above the fence.
Here he just peeks over thefence and is staring at us.
Tool time we just had.
Head over the fence, we'll havefans drive by a lot of times.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
They stop and wave.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
We thought it was another fan pulling up.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Hold on, there's a part of this story we're missing
.
You saw police officers and ran.
They ran to the door.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah, I went to go open the door, he didn't hop in
and get out of here.
That's his story, man, that'shis story.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Yeah, he said he wanted to go he didn't run.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
He quickly walked to open the door for the nice
police officer.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
That's a gentleman, that's where we were.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
He didn't go hide in the basement.
For what we know, we don't knowwhat he did.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
You guys kept playing , we didn't know.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
I see this, like we said, home improvement guy just
peeking over the fence.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I think he wanted you to play house on the rise.
He made a request.
I was like Jared, playsomething, the Rising son.
He was like uh, he made arequest.
I was like Jared, playsomething Perform now Jared, you
played good Before you know itplaying F to Police by NWA.
We haven't gotten a little bitof hip-hop with her.
There's some new stuff outthere.
We throw some hip-hop.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Yeah, you definitely have some hip-hop beats that you
throw in we like that.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
That's the thing about us.
We're a nice eclectic form ofpeople, 100%.
Yeah, we all throw our hat inthe circle and see what comes
out.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Well, you all have to find your artistic edge,
because that's what keepsbringing you back to do it.
You're talking about havingfamilies having crappy jobs,
having this or that, having thisbar to run that you have to
hide in every once in a whilethat comes in handy.
You know you got to havesomething that you all believe
in that makes it work, and itseems like you guys have found a

(28:28):
good common ground to make thathappen.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
So we're pretty good.
It's all what the families andwives and girlfriends think
about it.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
You got to have their support.
Well, I'm sure, if you're notselling their shoes.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
you do pretty well, not yet.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
anyway there's no reason to See if she plays her
cards right.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
My fiancee at one point was the social media
manager and ran that, but westopped giving her details to
put out.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
She's got to figure it out herself.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
You gotta be creative in that market.

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Post a picture.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
It's a whole thing we had to bring in this crappy
podcast to fill in some space.
We're doing this benefit showin Bushnell.
Come on, do your job, lady.
I'm excited for that.
No, it's going to be a goodtime.
It's a fun venue.
You've actually got a decentroom to play music in there and,
like I said, air conditioningthis time of year is nice.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
It's a bus, it's a bus.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
So yeah, Barrett's our hot guy.
He gets hot.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Our fair-skinted fella.
Yeah, man, I was worried aboutyou, bitch.
I do believe I made you suckdown two bottles of water dude.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I do believe the VFW has iTunes, so you're good to go
, dude.
They maybe even have whiskey bythe end of the night, depending
on what plane you're in.
That one fits a.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Corona in one.
What's next?
Depending on what plane we'rein, that won't fit a.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
Corona in one.
What's next?
Well, the whiskey's for inbetween those are like the jams
in between our songs Just keepthe tequila coming.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
That's what I like about it.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
So, yeah, definitely next Saturday night, june 29th
