This series is called “In the Spotlight” an oral history of live musicians working in London’s west end. It explores the varied working lives of freelance musicians (some going back to the 1940s) working in the nightclubs, the jazz and rock clubs, restaurants, tea dances and the function scene as well as in the theatres in central London.
In episode one musicians take us back to how they became interested in music, their influences, and recall their first gigs.
