Hey everyone, it's DJ Starline back for another exciting episode of Nova 10.
(00:20):
As a house EDM DJ based in NYC, I'm absolutely passionate about sharing my love for house
music with you.
Each episode will journey through a specific subgenre, highlighting both the hottest new
releases and some of the timeless tracks that continue to inspire many.
Believe it or not, we've already reached episode 5 of Nova 10.
(00:43):
To celebrate, we're dedicating the show to the vibrant and ever evolving sound of Afro
House.
Get ready for an inspiring set of the best of today's Afro House scene interwoven with
some of my favorite throwbacks.
As always, we'll have the All About You segment and the much loved Nova 10 Top 5.
Coming up is Hyla's song, Mama, which came out on January 10th through Erase Records.
(01:10):
This track is absolutely beautiful, as well as an intriguing and captivating piece of
electronic music.
Its hypnotic rhythms, ethereal vocals, and modern production makes it a must-listen track.
Then I'll play Pac-Man and Mike's song, Swalla.
Alive from Kelerkin and Mike Prylon will come after that, from January 3rd released
(01:32):
by A Tribe Called Kotori.
This record is a fusion of tribal and deeper house and takes you on a trippy ride with
lush chords, African rhythms, and pounding percussion for a dance floor explosion.
Vozés Da Afrika by ACN and Pau Niu will follow.
Released on Gungano Records December 27th, Vozés Da Afrika is a vibrant Afro house track
(01:56):
that seamlessly blends traditional rhythms with contemporary electronic sounds for a
mesmerizing listening experience.
Then I'll wrap up my first set with Brith's latest song, Separation.
But first, let's get things started with Plenty produced by Marcellus.
When I come back, we're jumping into the All About You segment.
(02:17):
I'll also cover the latest details from the upcoming festival season.

Wishing you both a fantastic day.
(20:53):
Massive shout outs goes out to commuter tracks, Miranda rights,

Now some fan mail.
Ella from Cone, Italy.
I'm a new fan of Novotel and love your selection of electronic music.
Each episode.
I really enjoy how your mixes make me feel.
(21:15):
They're just so uplifting.
What is it about dance and electronic music that you love so much?
Thank you.
And keep up the amazing work.
Thanks so much, Ella.
I really appreciate your kind words.
I think I was born to love electronic music.
I love electronic music.
I think I was born to love electronic music.
It started when I was just seven or eight, completely fascinated by its unique sounds.
(21:41):
Listening to the KTU radio station in New York Saturday nights and dancing to house pop dance and trance gave me chills.
I knew it was special.
As a DJ, I love sharing that passion and creating a vibe, whether on the radio, online or the dance floor.
As a techie, I'm excited by electronic music's constant technological evolution.
(22:04):
And the scene?
Well, amazing, so welcoming and a strong community.
Going to shows is incredible.
The energy, the lights, the people.
It's electric.
So, Ella, thanks again for the fan mail.
I really appreciate you.
Shout out to everyone in Stockholm.
All right, peeps.
(22:25):
As you know, festival season is officially knocking on our door.
So I'd like to start diving into the hottest festivals happening this year.
From the biggest names to hidden gems.
Without further ado, let's get into it.
On March 12th to 16th is the SXM Festival.
SXM is all about bringing together a select group of music lovers who truly appreciate electronic music.
(22:50):
The festival takes place on the stunning island of St. Martin with world-class DJs playing all weekend long.
Expect to see Camel Fat, Clooney, Pharek Dawn, Sam Devine, Yulia Nico and Oxia with more acts to be announced.
Now, one of the world's most renowned music festivals, Tomorrowland Winter,
is approaching as it embraces the winter season with the annual Mountain Experience.
(23:16):
March 15th to 22nd, ravers from across the globe will converge in the stunning French Alps
for an extraordinary adventure combining skiing and music with a touch of that Tomorrowland magic.
The incredible lineup for Tomorrowland Winter includes the likes of Afrojack, Vintage Culture,
Medusa, ALOC, Lost Frequencies, Armin van Buuren, Lucas and Steve, Axwell Bassjackers, and many, many more.
(23:45):
Consider it the pregame fest before the Mega Tomorrowland festivities in Belgium this July.
Some honorable mentions early on in the season are Beyond Wonderland in San Bernardino, California on March 28th to 29th,
Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida on March 28th to 30th,
(24:06):
April Fests includes Time Warp Germany in Mannheim on April 5th,
Breakaway Festival in Tampa, Florida on April 25th to 26th,
Ooby Dooby in Fort Worth, Texas on April 26th to 27th.
Stay tuned for more festival updates this season.

(24:33):
Coming up in this next set, we'll revisit Agalo Next Gen by Angelique Kidjo and Amey May,
which stormed last episode's top 5 at number 3.
Amey May's Afro House remix, dropped December 13th on Parlophone France,
electrifies Angelique Kidjo's 30-year-old classic.
Coming after that is the first throwback song of this episode,
(24:57):
and that's the Bang the Drum Manu remix, an original by Sister Pearl, released back in 2009 on Tribe Records.
This remix brought new life into the classic track and beautifully reimagined the song,
infusing it with a contemporary edge while retaining the soul of the original.
(25:18):
We'll jump into Baron Milo and Steve Reasons' I Can't Stop.
And I'll finish off the second set with the last throwback song of this episode,
the Ngani Tek mix by Afro Warriors, Wilson Cantora, and Lizwe, released back in 2019 on Tribe Records.
This classic Afro House release harkens back to the genre's roots.
(25:41):
Lizwe's theatrical vocals soar over a backdrop of melodic synths,
which created a dynamic and captivating track that blew the roof off of large-scale venues.
Let's get back to the mix with Maxik and Edward Mason's Natural Blues.
Listening, the Nova 10 Top 5 tracks across all EDM genres are coming right up.
