It's over! Almost! For real this time, I swear. The group has been trying to kill this evil snakething for close to ten sessions and the moment is finally here, including all of the stuff that happens when they get back to town. More sadness awaits, but just maybe a smidge of hope that things aren't as terrible as when they left Orlane the first time.

The Party Without A Significant Identifier Yet is back with more exploration of the dungeon of Explicita Defilus! We're getting close to finishing this quest, since it's more inevitable than eventual that they succeed. Alright they're in the dungeon this time, so it's dungeon time again - still no dragons in sight but look they're just level 2/3 babies doing there best out here in a dangerous world. They'll find dragons eventually, I promise!

So yeah, it didn't go great for the party last time but at least they made it out alive. They're short-handed and need to figure out how to proceed from there. It's not like they'll just cut their losses and bail out early right? They wouldn't leave their friend to perish at the hands of the cult.

Now we're in the meat of it, the gross filthy chunk of the module! Things get interesting as soon as the players make their way into the village of Orlane, quickly going downhill for them - in ways I wasn't even expecting. Also, it seems I have a real problem pronouncing the word "troglodyte."

Time for some module talk - or at least the build towards it. I got the chance to run the classic module Against the Cult of the Reptile God (meaning my friends took the bait I set for them) and it ended up being one of the high points of not just my campaign, but from all of my gaming experiences. So let's talk about it for a while! This is the first in I'm not sure how many episodes talking about this module, but it&apo...

Just like in real life, your friends are going to want to make friends with imaginary people you pull from your head. There's plenty of things you can do with that, and not just to break their hurts and deliver soul crushing disasters upon them. Sometimes they just, y'know, hang out. Like real people. These ones just might have scales or cast lightning bolts.

Wow! A new episode? It's like I finally got it together so I can upload something - but nah, it's been pretty hectic over here at DMDCPCHQ. I did take some time to enjoy Gen Con weekend though, as a player no less. Got to play a lot of great games with a lot of great people, and figured it'd make for a good experience to share. Campaign logs aren't going anywhere, just taking a quick break from them for this epi...

I realize now I am guilty about stringing my players along through scripted scenarios. I don't know if that's good or bad, but I sure do talk about it a lot this episode. Plus when players get some decision paralysis, so hopefully one of those will prove useful in hindsight.
