(01:24):
another exciting adventure in D&D 721.
My name is MUD and we are a parody live play podcast of
Dungeons and Dragons and I am joined this evening by 5 of my
wonderful players. 5 wonderful players, Would you please
introduce yourselves? Hello, I am Yamez, I play Pebble
(01:50):
the barbarian fighter, half pintand ready to go.
I want Skittles playing Thea thekitsune Paladin.
Yeah, I'm, I'm beat up. Just a little bit.
(02:11):
We'll get into that recap in just a second.
Are we here? You skipped me, Pyro.
I am Tolton, playing bragger near the humble, ready to sit on
a chair that doesn't try to eat me.
Over here playing Narloween, theArtificer High Elf with an
(02:35):
Infinity from Fire and Lightningand my trusty little companions
to steal the fenders and the dragonflies.
And I am ready to save Mom or Mommy because I am NAR NAR.
Yeah. Parker is here playing No
commits, Whisper Wind. Yeah, I'm not going to use
anyone as a meat shield today. I'm going to stick to my normal
druid duties and just heal people, Probably.
(02:58):
Maybe. Oh, you say that now.
You say that now, but we have got a big episode ahead guys, so
let's jump into a little bit of that recap.
Last session began with mimics falling from the sky disguised
(03:19):
as chandeliers, chairs turning into these giant chomping
monstrosities, a ale, a mental coming up out of a cask of beer,
as well as, as Thea mentioned, some real corrosive black
puddings wiggling free from under the dinner platters.
(03:40):
And the black pudding massacre took place.
I think all but one noble and one servant were eaten or acid
splashed or something else and they.
Found. Love Yeah, I think they were
like sitting in the corner, likekissing like end of the world
(04:02):
style by the. End of that.
Fight. You guys fought bravely and
valiantly. You tried to save lives, some of
you, and eventually, with all the doors barred shut, no one
able to get in or out after Renaand Devon, the Grin had made
(04:24):
their escape. Eventually the doors were burst
in from the outside. Bertram the Red entered the
fray, ran in to start helping, and then as the final creature
was slain, all of the palace guards kind of lazily marched
into the throne room, with Rena and Devon at the lead and
(04:49):
Devon's new captain of his guard.
The smarmy, greasy toothpick chew in guy that Thea fought in
the tournament as the new captain of the guard wandered
in, looked around at the massacre, and just said, well
shit. You know, it's a shame we didn't
get here faster, isn't it? Or something to that effect.
(05:11):
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where we set the scene there.
Rebel throws Rebel throws our axe into his balls.
I should have used smite and that melee fight.
Yeah, smites. Smites would have been been
pretty good all around you. Broken tables, broken chairs,
(05:32):
furniture, everywhere there is piles of corpses sitting around,
things eaten by the mimics or attacked by the black goose.
Literally sizzling bones that are like slowly corroding inside
of the creatures that have been killed.
There is like I mentioned, thereis the one noble and the servant
(05:53):
girl that are off in the northeast corner of the room.
But otherwise you have Devon Arena and I don't think I
actually ever told you guys his name.
The new captain of the Guards name is Jacon.
It is not. It is Jacon, yeah.
It is a Lee's bag. Yeah, he is a sleaze.
Bag. Douche bag, Yeah.
(06:14):
No, yeah, no, he looks like a douche bag.
He's got like thin hair on the top of his head.
He's got it like greased straight back.
Yeah, you know, he's, he's a a real DGEM looking guy.
Right. Are you sharing pictures of me?
After after he makes that comment, Brad would like to say
it's all right. I heard about your fight in the
arena. I don't think we could have
(06:35):
protected another person. You know what give me?
Heartily. Give me a persuasion or
intimidation. Let's.
Can I can I help with that? Same.
You said persuasion or intimidation.
I'm going to go with persuasion every day.
(07:00):
That's at 23. Yeah, he like unrestrained.
He he like jerks forward coming at you.
Braggrenier and a couple of the other guards like kind of grab
him by the elbows and he's like, that's right, boys.
Hold me back. Hold me back from him.
(07:22):
I'll I'll kick this guy's ass. I don't care whose friend, whose
duchess's son's friend he thinkshe is.
Let him go, let him go. He you know, let him go.
I'm. I'm.
I'm laughing. I'm just laughing at right at
this guy. Still standing.
I'm still standing on the table.Let him go if he wants to go.
He takes a toothpick out of his mouth and aims it at Youthy and
(07:44):
he says we'll see who's laughingat the wedding and he turns
around and storms out. Oh, he's running away.
PEB. Pebble nods.
To what do you mean about the wedding?
He's got he's got to go cry now,OK?
Yeah, I vote for an insight check on that.
It's yeah, give me an insight check.
I'd I'd like to. Since he was talking right at
(08:06):
me. While you do an insight check,
I'd like to look over at. 15. Yeah.
I look over at Bertram and I I tilt my head towards it with
like a raised eyebrow. Bertram is also like flush like
he's his face is red, he's angryand several of his guards are
mixed in with Devon. The grins guards and you guys
(08:30):
have noticed this before. They do have different patches
on their shoulders. Even though they were sworn in
as silver Moon Estate palace guards.
The entourage that came with Devon.
They have a coat of arms on one shoulder that is the Silver Moon
coat of arms and on the other arm is a distinguished patch
(08:55):
that matches the heraldry that was on Devon the grin's created
pedigree. So they're they're kind of like
showing both patches, whereas the original Silver Moon guards
only have the Silver Moon Crest on one shoulder and the two
groups are kind of standing sideby side like they are not
(09:18):
intermingled with that. I I think the first thing that
Gnarloine would say is kind of give a not command, but a
directive for the guards. And I won't direct it at one or
the other to check the nobles and check the guests and see if
there's anyone that's still alive.
Get help to anybody who needs it.
Yeah, you, you say that and thatkind of like snaps everyone out
(09:40):
of it and the insight checks 11 gnarloine.
You, you don't catch anything. Thea with A15.
He's talking like he knows, but you can't discern what it is he
might know. And we say that me nodding my
(10:01):
head towards Bertram gives him advantage on an insight check.
No, no. Damn.
For our listeners, our DM has a hard time saying no to us.
I'm getting. Better at it, damn it.
It can brag. Make an insight check.
(10:23):
No, he's left. He's gone.
Darn, Yeah. The guards all start rushing
into the room. The both the silver Moon and the
Devon, the grins guards they're they're all rushing in.
They are kicking over like the the dead mimic creatures.
One of them, you know, it's likestabbing at a sword at one of
the the Black Goose or at one ofthe mimics.
(10:44):
And you know, like I said before, just sizzling bones
inside like the stomach acid of the creature just melts
everything instantly. There is, as I said before, the
one noble and servant. The northeastern doors did also
open. A number of guards came in
through that entrance as well. Also guards from Devon's group,
(11:08):
once the monsters were defeated, they too entered from that same
door. And the noble and the servant
are just talking on top of each other, telling what happened and
how the creatures all came to life.
And suddenly inanimate objects were killing and eating people.
And Devon the Grin is standing next to Rena at the West
(11:32):
entrance of the hall, and he's shaking his head and loudly, so
that everyone can hear, he says to Rena.
I just can't believe my my own Beastmaster Frank would rise to
this level of treachery. The damage that one man has
caused is just staggering. While all of this is going on,
(11:55):
and while everyone's distracted, can I use my gem of seeing to
look around and look at Rena? Yes you can.
All right, I'm going to act likeI'm showing it off to Pebble and
we're going to just do a full scan of the whole room, starting
(12:18):
looking away and just passing over Rena as we go.
OK, that's pretty cool. For our listeners, if you could
just real quick read what that does again.
The gem has three charges. As an action you can speak the
gems command word pineapples andexpend 1 charge the next.
(12:39):
For the next 10 minutes you havetrue sight out to 120 feet when
you peer through the gem. The gem regains 1D3 expended
charges daily at dawn. So this will be my second charge
I've used this day. Yep.
As you are looking around through the gem, all the guards
(12:59):
appear normal. Rena also appears normal.
She is not shape shifted, she's not a creature or a construct.
She's not transformed by magic. As you are sweeping the room and
you come across Devon the Grin, for a second you see that there
(13:29):
is a energy emanating from him, and it is the same kind of
energy that you all felt surrounding Frank, the
Beastmaster assassin at the top of the walls.
The Presence was there with him.Is it the same energy that took
(13:49):
Sarah? Yes.
I think Bertram would like to see this stone.
Devon looks at you, looking at him through it, and some of the
energy you see is actually radiating.
And for a moment it's coming like from his up upward, out of
his chest and around the base ofhis neck.
(14:11):
And as you're looking you can see some very distinct strangle
marks on his throat, and it onlytakes you a second to realize
they look like the markings froma noose.
And he sees you looking at him and he narrows his eyes at you
(14:36):
and suddenly it's almost like here contains something that he
was letting slip and it all disappears and he looks normal
again. I continue looking around the
room and say isn't this a cool stone Pebble?
That's pretty. Can I?
Can I? Can I have it?
No, but it it has a stick attached to it you will choke,
(14:59):
no. What?
What's it going to? What's it going to swallow it?
With that, the guards are beginning to clean up the
banquet. Gnarloine, your mother is crying
a a bunch of her nobles and visiting nobles have just been
slaughtered here at the dinner. You know this was supposed to be
(15:19):
her wedding banquet. Like her, her, you know, the the
dinner before the wedding and Devon turns and is hugging her
and he's saying it's all right, it's all right.
We're. We're going to be married first
thing in the morning, and then none of this will matter and
we'll forge a new future ahead together, my dear.
(15:42):
Narla Weena will make his way upto his mom and he's not going to
shoulder. He's not going to shoulder him
out, but he's going to kind of take a prominent place right by
her and put his hand on her kindof like behind her ear, on her
head, almost comforting her and saying, mom, I'm so sorry that
there's so much stripe going on from the Hydra when you were
(16:06):
supposed to deal that easy blow, you know, and then the chaos of
Bertram losing control and the, you know, the shots being taken
at you and what happened to Parsival and now this.
I'm so sorry that you're you're having to deal with so much
hostility and so much not rage, but so many haphazard things,
(16:31):
so, so many malicious things on the day of your celebration.
She turns to you and nods and she says I just don't understand
why someone would be so committed to ruining my
marriage. I can't imagine and you don't
(16:53):
deserve it, Mom. You deserve the best.
She, she, she, she turns and gives you a hug.
I hug her back. She just says NAR NAR I.
All I wanted was for my boy to be here for my wedding day.
I'm here for you no matter what.Mom.
You shouldn't. You shouldn't have to see all
this carnage here. Let let let us figure it out.
(17:16):
Devon says yes, that's an excellent point, my dear.
You shouldn't be here. You shouldn't have to deal with
this. You maybe you should retire to
your room for the night and let the guards clean up all of this
unpleasantness. And the the wedding is tomorrow,
right? It is in the morning.
(17:36):
And so as he says that, I'll, I'll look up at her and I'll
reinforce it and I'll say absolutely, Mom, we'll, we'll
figure this out. You know, Bertram's here,
Deidrek is here. We'll, we'll get everything
settled. And if, if you're not going
right to bed, I'd like to come up and talk to you.
You guys are doing separate rooms for the night before the
wedding, right? I she like your, your mom turns
(18:05):
beet red and she just says no, no, I am an adult.
I'm going to my room. And she she like looks like she
wants to say something else. And then she like bites her
tongue and she turns and starts to leave and.
As she leaves. Turns and says, well, it would
(18:27):
just be inconceivable to leave her all by herself all night.
She she obviously needs protection.
I'll go protect her. He grins, the scar on his face
stretching ugly as he turns and waves at a couple of his guards
(18:50):
for them to continue with the clean up in the banquet hall,
and he also begins to leave withRina.
So before he leaves, I kind of loudly speaking for my chest, I
go Deirdrek, when you guys walked out, out of the doors get
locked behind you. Then none of the nobles could
get out. We sent them for safety.
(19:12):
He turns and he says, well, isn't it obvious?
I locked to the doors to protectyour mother, to keep the
monsters contained within the banquet hall, obviously.
I thought you were going to protect her.
I did, out in the hallway outside the banquet hall, you'll
notice, and you absolutely no harm came to your mother.
(19:36):
Of course, as we didn't let themget easy.
This is going to be an easy one because he can't fight.
He clearly can't fight. I I whisper that to to those
around me. See and Arcturus.
What are the two of you doing? How long does it take for me to
get something out of my bag? Once a day.
So I mean you just, you think what you want, you reach in and
(19:57):
you pull it out. OK, yeah, Thea's Thea needs to
reach in and she's going to think, think nicely as she would
like some new chainmail. OK, as you reach in in the
pocket dimension where time works differently, the request
(20:17):
goes in as you reach her hand inand after a couple of seconds
you feel the feeling of chainmail links in your fingers.
And as you start to pull the newchainmail vest out, you can hear
the voice of the halfling from the bag say, I did my best
(20:38):
guessing your measurements. Oh, is that Poppy?
Oh, I miss Poppy. Yeah, it was definitely Poppy of
the two. Yeah, not Arnold.
You don't like me? And yeah, it is non magic, but
it is a perfectly utilitarian set of chainmail armor that you
(21:00):
can, you know, for all intensivepurposes you can it.
It just resets your AC. You're back to normal AC with
your chainmail. Yes, thank you.
Braggoneer looked over at a garden and says, can I get one
of those teeth from that mimic before you take it away?
Give me a persuasion check. And while you do that, Nakomis,
(21:23):
what is Swamp Mommy doing? I would like to do a perception
check to to see if the the person that I use as a meat
shield is is no longer with us. Yeah, you can go give me a
medicine check. I've rolled a 21.
(21:44):
He is very dead. Swat mommy is is a little sad
about what transpired, but you know, what had to be done had to
be done, you know, and he's going to think on this a little
bit back back at some time later.
But right now, you know, surveying the room and the
happenings of going on. I'm going to just get closer to
(22:06):
everybody and just kind of, you know, shake off the blood and
the the sweat and everything that just transpired and just
just support the team. The team needs support right
now. As as you're doing that, the
noble who had also been there next to you, the one that
actually grabbed a knife and started fighting back, he and
(22:27):
the servant walk up and they're still holding hands, like they
are like glued to each other's sides.
And they both walk up to you andthe noble tall elven man, he's
kind of got a big full bushy, kind of like a Van Dyke mustache
and kind of little mustachios curved up at the corners.
And he walks up to you and he says, like he sees you looking
(22:51):
at the other noble that you blocked yourself with.
And he nods at you. And he says you did what you had
to Milady and Annie, Testimony Igive to any of the guards
tonight will reflect that you and your companions were heroes
(23:13):
here that saved our lives. You're a bad ass, dude.
You're a bad ass. I I thank the nobleman for that
sentiment, but I still feel very, very sad by what
transpired in my own actions. I'm a little embarrassed to say
the least, but I do give him a nod and and whisper thank you
(23:35):
under my breath. He nods back, and he goes,
Honestly, I should feel bad too.I should feel worse.
He was my cousin and I don't really care that much that he's
dead. I need to think about that.
And he turns around and starts to walk away.
With his with his new girlfriend.
Yeah, I guess. We're matchmakers, guys.
(23:58):
As as the nobleman walks past, Greg would like to put a hand on
his shoulder and do healing hands for seven points of health
to heal the acid burns and say thank you.
My companion needed that quietly.
Yeah, he looks at you, a little startled at first, then feels
the burns scabbing over and stitching shut, and he kind of
(24:21):
looks at you, looks at Nokomis, looks at the servant girl, looks
at you again and just again nodsand says I meant what I said, my
testimony will be very accurate. And he nods again, and they walk
away. What was your name?
He he mutters something at you, but you don't quite hear it.
(24:44):
Oh, I've all heard it perfectly. No, she did.
Just kidding. No, he he turns back and he just
says my name is Baldruth. Baldruth, Silver Moon, distant
cousin, non noble. Well, non hierarchical, but
(25:06):
noble I guess. It's it's always good meeting a
another person with a fire in their heart.
Now you enjoy the rest of your evening.
Yep, he leaves. OK.
Are we doing anything else here?I, Bertram, is also like going
(25:27):
around investigating bodies. Is is it still filled with?
Not the Queen's Guards. Guards, not Bertram's men.
There's a mix of both in the room.
OK, so I want to what do we callit thought speak.
OK, I want to think at the others and, and, and kind of
(25:50):
'cause I don't know if we had a chance to share each other's
sides of what happened with do do we know that Torque and NAR
Lewin set a trap on the ship? You know, I kind of want to
coordinate all our stories together and, you know, see,
see, like, hey, should we let Bertram know that this is what
(26:12):
we're planning, you know, and bring him in on the plan because
he is very obviously knows now what's going on.
I'm asking the the rest of the team what you all think.
Ragnar's point of view, I, I respond with let's, let's maybe
help him with his investigation if he's willing to take some
(26:35):
help. And let's see how he acts after
after the guards clear out. OK.
We could always try and pull them off to the side.
Yeah, I was going to say it. So like with, with that, with
all of you kind of like in agreement, you want to kind of
get your your story together. Bertram does.
After, you know, kicking at someof the dead corpses and looking
(26:57):
at some of the dead nobles and servants, he turns to another
one of the guards, puts them in charge.
And he does point at Pebble and Braggrenier.
And he says all 5 of you my office.
ERD. One one second I I I rolled A-15
(27:20):
for that tooth. Yeah, one of the guards like is
hacking at the the creature withhis sword, making sure that it's
really good and dead. And he goes, Oh yeah, you want
one of these? And he hands you one mimic
tooth. Thank you, Sir.
I tossed him. I tossed him a silver.
He looks at the silver and sand.He says.
Are you trying to bribe a royal guard?
(27:41):
No. It's thanks.
He nods, and he puts. It in the same guard?
Is it the same? Is it the same guard from the
Tavern? Is that the?
Same guard from the Tavern. Give me a perception check.
OK, hold on. Where is it at?
I got a nine on perception. Let's see if I.
(28:02):
Got to. I got to something.
You cannot like, you can't tell.He could be anybody.
He could be the same. Person he's got to help my.
I got. I got elemental in my eyes.
All righty. OK.
Is everybody going to Bertram? Of course as me.
(28:25):
Brag is I will need a wing. Wing.
Man. I'm going to walk behind the
group, but yes, I'm going to follow.
I will follow. Cool.
Yeah. Yeah, let's, let's roll.
All of you make your way into Bertram's Captain Quarters.
That's like I described in a previous episode.
(28:45):
It is a combination of like his office as well as a very Spartan
bedroom. No personal effects, no
paintings or tapestries or anything like that.
It is very bare bones, utilitarian, almost like Stark
with how sterile it looks inside.
(29:06):
But he sits at his desk as the five of you walk in and also
they're standing in the corner is Torque.
Hello everybody. Bragg looks around and says I
think we could do with somethinga little more cozy.
No offense Bertram, if you don'tmind.
(29:26):
And I would like to cast Lehman's Tiny Hut.
Woo Hoo, return of the Hut. Yeah, you cast Thiemann's Tiny
Hut and it basically it expands and fills the room.
And so now the room is basicallyenclosed in a Liaman's Tiny Hut.
And it it, it is like a war council Hut with the tables and
(29:48):
maps and and we we have terrors in space to put out our clues
now and and actually discuss without fear of being overheard.
Brilliant. Great.
Yeah. Torque looks around and nods,
and he goes. Well, this works too.
I was gonna test out my little device here, but this will work.
(30:12):
There's no need. It's just, you know.
Just for clarity, I want to readthis effect now.
Spells and other magical effectscan't extend through the Dome or
be cast through it, so no scrying.
We are. We are completely safe, I think.
Yeah, that would make you free from being scried on.
(30:36):
Or potentially safe. I don't, I don't think.
That's like saying just don't roll in that one.
Shut up, Zach. Yeah, no, I, I have, I have
mentioned before that Lehman, like sometimes the gods are able
to defy magic, but for all intents and purposes that is
true. Nothing should be able to see
into the Hut, no mortal beast orcreature.
(31:00):
Yes, and that was my goal. All right.
Bertram looks around and he says, Well, during the banquet
Torque and I had ourselves a candid conversation about
everything that has been going on the last three days.
And with this recent black pudding massacre, as the
(31:24):
servants are already calling it,I believe there is a conspiracy
NAR Louine for Diedrich Steele Strong to usurp the Dutchie.
And I'll turn to him and be like, can you, can you catch us
up on the, can you catch us up with what you gathered?
(31:45):
He shrugs, and he says, well, mostly.
It's what Pebble and Braggrenierhere brought to me, along with a
few of my own observations. An assassin.
We haven't had an assassination attempt here in the castle in
centuries, as far as I can remember, and there is one
assassination attempt. Your companion is killed.
(32:06):
Then there's all of the treachery from Frank the
Beastmaster, the captain of Diedrich still Strong's guard.
And that ranges from a creature that was supposed to be a Drake
actually ended up being a hydra. And then there were some going
(32:30):
ONS at the castle and he's looking at some notes that he
has and says. And then there was also
everything that happened in the tournament where I I was
manipulated in some way by a chaos blade that was given to me
by someone. I still haven't been able to
pinpoint who, but I have to imagine they have a Steel Strong
(32:55):
emblem on their shoulder. There's the weirdness of the
Steel Strong guards being made palace guards as a response to
all of this treachery, which just further entrenches Steel
Strong and his men into the castle prior to the wedding.
Then also at the tournament, another assassination attempt by
(33:17):
Frank. Again, you all slayed Frank, and
I was regaled with some information by a charming
squirrel. Yep.
And then there's this, tonight within the castle, unnoticed by
me or my guards. Somehow he does like air quotes.
(33:41):
Frank managed to get a number ofwild creatures into the banquet
hall to attack the nobility, further weakening the Silver
Moon claim to this entire province and as it stands, there
is Rena Silver Moon as the Duchess.
(34:03):
If something were to happen to Rena Silver Moon, it would pass
to her spouse, which if the wedding goes through, that would
be Diedrich Steele Strong. If something were to happen to
Diedrich Steele Strong, that also leaves, or if nothing were
to happen to Diedrich Still strong.
That leaves Narlaween as the heir apparent because in Elloria
(34:29):
the Hierarchy does follow the matron line, so Dietrich would
still be a Duke in title, but the hierarchy would technically
pass to the Sun and Narlewine ifsomething were to happen to you.
(34:50):
There is a more distant, slightly obscure but still valid
claim to the Silver Moon throne by your cousin Parsival, who
also had an assassination attempt against him as we all
witnessed. My dear parsable.
I'm happy, he grins and he says, and thankfully parsable is fine.
(35:13):
Parsable is recovering. He should be fine by morning.
Do. We have somebody guarding
Parsable. Bertram nods, and he says, As a
matter of fact, I take the security of my own guardsmen
very seriously. Yes, there are two guards
outside his door. Your guard, you do.
I was going to say that your guards.
He nods. He says yes.
(35:33):
My guards. And you did train Parceval after
all. I'm not too worried, but I
figured it was important to ask.He exhales hard and he says I
tried to train the nepo knight but.
Now that we know, just chuckle and say, all right, so we know.
(35:54):
We know some of the facts. What are we going to do without
this? I believe the intent was to kill
Parsival and you Narlouine priorto the wedding.
I don't think either. I don't think you were supposed
to be here at all. It was by chance that you were
(36:16):
requested to be at the wedding, which frankly none of us thought
that you would be found. But then you were, and you were
brought here by airship, with days in advance to be here
before the wedding. I was going to say I was very
lucky that you guys found me andthat we happened, that I
(36:36):
happened to have this, this, this crew with me just just
weeks prior. I was still kind of going town
to town myself. He nods and just says yes.
That's my understanding as well.I know it's a a long shot but
does anyone think we should get parsable hidden?
(36:58):
I can always take his place tomorrow and pretend I'm him
and. Sky's yourself, you mean?
Yes, that way if any attempt on his life is made, it's not him.
So with that and the the altar trap, that torque set up, we can
really control that situation, right?
(37:21):
Torque perks up and he goes, Oh yes, I was actually going to
test this before the tiny hop was cast.
But he holds up a silver, a veryornate silver Candlestick, one
of the three pronged candlesticks.
And he holds it out to everybody, like nodding and
looking at each of you, like, see, see.
(37:42):
Cool. Now that we would like to
investigate it to learn its properties.
Yeah, I would also like to. There's a 24 hit.
Yeah, that'll. Do it.
I would like to eat it. Does a nine hit.
Nope, bragrenier. It is a Candelabra NAR louine.
You are looking at it and you can tell that it is a infused
(38:05):
item. It's something that torque
specially made and he and and you can feel that within the
object that it it would have theability to cast an area effect
of dispel magic. And he says, obviously I'm not
activating it right now because I don't want to undo anything
(38:27):
with Lehman's tiny Hut here. But this powerful little object?
It will create a 15 foot radius of dispel magic, and any magical
effects that enter this area effectively, you know, fizzle
out. It can.
Can I hold it? Are are are we going to put that
(38:50):
on the altar or is one of us going to hold it and run in?
We're kind of like. Turns with it and he says I'll
safeguard it, I made it, it's mine.
But he he does nod and he says yes.
The intent is that there will bea marriage altar during the
(39:12):
ceremony tomorrow, and I am planning to deliberately have
this candle placed on the altar. It'll look like a decorative
piece of nothing. However, there at the altar,
once activated, it will create that dispel magic field around
it. Cool.
I just want to investigate it tosee if I glean any ideas for how
(39:35):
to embed spells into objects like he has.
I want to level up my artifice or abilities.
OK. I mean, typically that takes
experience, but go go ahead withan investigation check.
Get on my level, kid he. Says just a nine.
I was hoping for a Nat 20. Yeah, you know that torque is
(39:58):
long lived even for to backseat something regarding his history
has extended his life. Beyond that of a typical
tobaccy, and this is something that is beyond your capability,
(40:19):
your your mind is healing a little bit with how that would
even be possible to make. Now Louie just looks up at
Torque and goes like, someday I hope I can make as many things
as you do, Torque. Torque looks at you and says I
hope someday you do as well. Make useful things like me
someday. This is what I mean.
(40:41):
I got it. I got it.
I understood. Yeah, he.
He went all right, so we have Wehave the plan for the dispel
magic. We have the plan for Brag
Rainier to disguise himself as parsable and be almost a decoy
if we. Want to go that route Torque.
Do you have anything that could assist me?
(41:01):
I I can I I know how to change shapes, but it doesn't last very
long. I'd have to continually ask
that. He thinks it goes well.
You know, the ceremony tomorrow is going to take place on the
grand airship. It's going to be its maiden
voyage, coasting over the top ofthe Silver Moon Castle and the
Silver Moon Estate City. Oh, I forgot it.
(41:26):
It was also named today the shipwas called the Silver Moon
Elfirion Elvish for the sky jewel the the silver moon sky
jewel. Anyway, you could very
reasonably hide below the upper deck or be in a place rather and
(41:50):
Parsival could. I imagine Bertram would have the
ability to smuggle him out of the castle undetected, and then
you could, as you choose, disguise yourself as Parsifal
and make some appearances so that it appears as though
Parsifal is present. And then you could change back
to yourself. And then it's not a question of
is Parsifal here or where, It's more of a question of where is
(42:13):
Parsifal? I get it.
So just just make an appearance, make it make sure that they, the
other guards see you and that, you know, maybe even Diedrich
sees you, and then go back underand kind of drop the disguise.
So they'll know that Parceval's on the ship, but they won't be
(42:35):
able to find Parceval once that you're just fragging here.
Or you could just how? How long does your disguise self
last? An hour.
Yes. I That should be plenty of time.
If you waited until the actual ceremony began, you could take
the appearance of Parceval and come up onto the main deck and
pose as Parceval as the ceremonybegins, and then they would
(42:59):
think they know where Parsival is.
Now my concern, would the altar dispel my spell or is parsable?
Oh absolutely, if you stepped into the radius.
Yes. Is he supposed to be standing
outside of the radius? I don't know where Parsival is
meant to stand, Bertram just shrugs, and he says it's just
going to be off in the wings somewhere, as with any of the
(43:21):
other, you know, few guards that'll be on the upper deck.
And and Parsival reports to you as I'm assuming correct Bertram.
He nods, and he goes. Yes, he's supposed to.
Let's well, maybe if we make it so that you're, you're taking
everything extra serious tomorrow, you just you help me
(43:43):
and make sure that I'm assigned to an area where where I'm
outside of this threshold. That won't be hard to do.
Yeah. Torque also nods and goes.
Yeah, it's only a 15 foot radius, and it's going to be
right at the altar where Rena and Diedrich are standing
together. So unless you essentially run up
to the altar, you'll be outside of the range of my little device
(44:08):
here. Of course, I think that's a
great idea. Bragging here.
I think disguising yourself is agreat idea, Bertram.
You wouldn't have to have a extra set of armor just for him
to to hide and slip into more easily.
I'm sorry, say that again. An extra set of the armor.
My disguised self would include my clothing, armor, and my
(44:32):
weapons. OK.
Yeah. And like he, he can give you,
you know, standard palace guard armors and things if you wanted
that. But I don't think you're
proficient in those heavy armors.
So I mean the disguise self would be probably the better
choice. Yeah, I, I believe if, if it
(44:52):
were to be a long ceremony, I think I'd, I'd do that just to
be sure. But I'm assuming this won't take
more than an hour. And if it does, you know,
Arceval muttering to himself in his helmet probably won't draw
too much attention. Probably not.
Everybody is going to be very focused on, you know, the
(45:13):
wedding. My only concern is coming up
with a story as to why brag or Near the Humble does not attend.
I don't think they'll quite realize you're not.
You got diarrhea. I I look over at Bertram and I
say I have another idea. He nods.
Let's. OK, what is it?
Let's say, let's say me and Pebble go out on the town and I
(45:37):
get a little too rowdy and your guards are the ones that find me
and you, you lock me up. In the drunk tank.
He nods and he says that's probably unnecessary, but that
would definitely solidify your alibi at least unless a
(45:58):
different guard went down to look for you and couldn't find
you in the cells. But you know, by the time
somebody did that and then came back and reported it with the
wedding going on, it is just toomany moving pieces.
They they wouldn't be able to doanything with that information.
Yeah, so if anybody asks where Bragg is, you know Bertram, you
can say, oh, he got caught bribing a cavern garden and we
(46:22):
put them in the. There's been a real.
Problem. Of that lately of people trying
to bribe my guards. I asked.
Buddhafunk. To to see if you would come and
meet us at a Tavern. And they thought I was trying to
bribe them. Uh huh.
I did offer them some nice ooze for compensation of their time.
(46:43):
That's. Definitely a bribe.
That is absolutely 100% a bribe.Well, it was done with the best
of intentions and not to Get Me Out of anything.
And it earns you the equal length of a visit to a jail
cell. Well, there we go.
I just admitted a crime. You can lock me up now.
(47:04):
He juggles away. OK, why don't you and Pebble go
hit the town, go cause a ruckus, and yeah, I'll make sure a
couple of my guards follow you and get you brag or near
arrested. OK.
How about you, Pebble? Do you want to be arrested too?
I've never been arrested. I was kicked out of my Oh yeah,
(47:24):
I'll go too. He nods, and he goes.
Excellent. We'll just get you both arrested
and. He a little.
Too happily at that notion. Now he turns and goes like, but
you remember Pebble, you're supposed to be at the wedding.
You guys are supposed to get out.
So don't go too hard on the townplease, OK?
(47:46):
Yeah, and then whenever you buy, brag.
I look over at Pebble and I say, hey, have you ever cheated at
cards? Oh.
Oh, is there any way that you guys can sneak me into the altar
under the altar and then I'll behiding there until the action
(48:06):
starts? I and I'll be in jail.
I bet have a lot on the shoulder.
Sleep inside the altar. Have a lot on the shoulder and I
say. All the 2 feet, right?
Oh. My.
God. Torque.
Nods. And he goes, Yeah, I mean, it's
(48:28):
a stone altar that's being put there, like at at the front helm
of the ship. But it does have.
A Actually a very. Small compartment within it for
holding things too small for a regular person, but for someone
as small as you it would fit perfectly.
I mean, I'll try to squeeze in. Oh, I think you would fit.
(48:51):
Another one turns to Pebble. I turned to Pebble and I was
like, hey, I guess you got to hold the chandelier, the
Candelabra, after all. Yeah.
All right, does anybody have anything else they want to
relate to Bertram before you allget set up and ready for a long
rest and the wedding in the morning?
(49:14):
Yeah, if it comes down to it, that's lazy guy.
He's mine. Heard.
Bertram shrugs, and he goes. I mean, assuming he's a
criminal. Yeah.
And Braggrenier do a history check.
Yeah. That's a 7.
(49:34):
Never seen him before. He must be one of of Devon's new
crew. I haven't seen much of the old
crew around. Yeah, give me a another history
check. As Braggrenier is thinking, has
he seen anyone from the old daysother than?
(49:55):
Devon. Jesus, that's what that was.
Change dice. You know of all the Nat ones to
get? That's honestly.
The best one for the day? Not the worst situation.
Go ahead Thea, time to take a shot.
For real. I close tomorrow.
It's. A Nat one.
(50:18):
Nat. One's a Nat.
One it is. Bragg You think that you've seen
some of your old crew, maybe among the faces, but I mean,
like, it was so long ago and that, you know, everybody's
gotten a bit older. You think you've seen some of
them, but you couldn't like, pinpoint anyone by name.
I swear the guard that handed methat tooth was was Jacob.
(50:39):
He just he had that lisp anyway.Does anybody else have anything
else they would like to relay toTorque or Bertram before I going
on with the events of the night and the long rest that prepares
for the morning? No, Nope, Nope.
I look over at Nokomis and I say, look, I know you and
(51:04):
Parsable have something going on, but I need you to pretend
that I am parsable tomorrow. Can you do that?
I am more than happy to snuggle up with you.
I couldn't ask for anything morein Swamp Mommy.
You got it. I ship it.
(51:24):
All right, Pebble, you ready to go?
Ready to go? Yeah.
Make. Some.
Barbaids. OK.
Let's make people uncomfortable.Torque says, great, go get
yourselves arrested. I'm going to go get this on the
ship. And he like slaps his knee and
he goes. We got a wedding to crash in the
morning, everybody. Woo.
(51:47):
Hoo, first time I've done that for a good reason.
OK, Braga Grenier. And Pebble roll for shenanigans.
What am I rolling, D20 or D20? Just a flat D20.
That's a four. I got a 10.
The night stretches on. You're exhausted from the fight
and everything else, but you like have a couple beers and you
(52:13):
keep setting your beer not on the coaster and looking around
like someone's going to yell at you for it.
Pebble. You get the most average amount
of rowdy as possible, which justkind of gets everyone like
yelling at you or like telling you to settle down and and you
(52:33):
know, cool it. No.
So for that first part of the night, Nokomis, Thea, Narlouine,
are the three of you doing anything specific before your
long rest? Yes, I'm going to cast
Drudecraft and I want to create an instantaneous falling of
(52:55):
leaves around me and close to mybed area, wherever I may be
sleeping. In case there's an intruder.
I want the leaves to be crunchy so I can hear them.
Yeah. OK.
OK. Thea anything that Thea is doing
before calling it a night. Thea's going to go back to her
(53:16):
horse and make sure that Apollo is doing good, make sure that
he's still getting shampooed like Frank did, getting all the
apples that he wants. Yeah, he he definitely eats any
apples you might bring to him. But the smell of Frank's shampoo
is beginning to fade. It's it's being replaced vest
(53:40):
that horse sweat smell. Well, I'll have to figure out
what kind of shampoo it is. Give him a bath.
And then she also just wants to,I guess just do like a quick,
quick little, little prayer. Nothing like crazy, just to hope
for for the best for for whatever's to come tomorrow.
(54:01):
Who is Thea Brang to? The is is praying to misfortune,
otherwise known as be shabba. Would you like to expand on that
at all? There's going to be around me
once everyone is around me, I guess.
Sure, OK, But give me that religion.
(54:22):
I mean, I guess to. Yeah.
Religion, Religion, Religion. Religion for once I finally get
something good. That's going to be a 22.
Nice. A good role.
With a 22 it's strange you you OfferUp this little prayer to
(54:46):
Bishop I always. Shabba.
Bishaba not not bashaba Bashaba. You OfferUp this prayer to
Bashaba and you feel the goddessof misfortune receive your
prayer and nothing happens and you don't hear anything but you.
(55:11):
You kind of get like this cold blanket comfort of you don't
have to worry about other misfortunes.
You just get to enjoy the misfortunes that I bring to you.
OK, yeah, I feel, I, I, I take that, that cold blanket of
(55:34):
comfort and hold on to it. All right, NAR Louine, anything
Narnar is doing before calling it a night.
Narnar is going to go to his steel defender and he's going to
do some some tinkering with him and he's going to fashion a
(55:55):
little like appendage type thingjust to a little part of him
that he fastens a ring to just kind of almost looking like a
collar on him, but it's fairly imperceptible just fastening a
platinum ring to him. OK.
That's worth at least 50 gold and the one that somebody bought
(56:17):
for me previously. Yeah, yeah, maybe a few sessions
ago. Taylor episode tailored for
trouble. Definitely.
Very specifically, A50 gold value.
Ring. What could that possibly be for?
Yeah, I mean, the the Steel Defender is able to equip magic
(56:38):
items. I believe so.
That it's not. It's not magic, it's a regular
item. Well, yeah, like a regular item.
So that should be just. Fine, yes, I've just attached it
to him like a collar and I guesswhile I'm doing my trance for my
long rest, I guess I'll just work on making some of my bolts
into fire and lightning bolts since now I know how to make
(57:01):
incendiary bullets. OK, I should be able to make
some fiery bolts. Would you concur?
I do. So we'll we'll tackle that real
quick. Go ahead and roll AD 4.
There's a four hit. Yeah, go ahead and add 4 bolts
to your inventory. Or flaming bolts.
(57:24):
Meanwhile, Pebble and Braggrenier, you have caused a
little bit of a scene and Braggrenier the bartender keeps
wiping the counter where you keep setting down your beer not
on a coaster and he keeps glaring at you.
But roll me another chance for some more shenanigans as the two
(57:45):
of you have more drinks. This time, you can both roll
that D20 with advantage. You can even make them
performance checks. I guess that's what this is.
You want me doing a performance,OK, performance with advantage,
that's a 23. I rolled a 21.
(58:05):
Yeah, Pebble, you rolled a Nat 20.
I did. I did.
Oh yeah. That's a MAT 20.
I. Get a ride.
Molly from the stables. I grab Molly from the stables
and I ride around bare ass naked.
What? The.
Heck, I don't know. Yeah, OK.
I love it. Molly out like you go.
(58:28):
You both leave from the bar. Brag.
Grenier, are you with paddle forthis?
I'm going to assist Pebble with this, and I'm going to cast
daylight on her crown, on her circle.
We have the Holy lady Godiva. And OK, Pebble, you begin
galloping through town naked on horseback.
(58:51):
Just. Absolutely glowing with
daylight. The guards very quickly cut you
off and grab you and are declaring that you're drunk and
a barbarian and don't know what you're.
You're drunk and a barbarian andyou don't know what I'm doing.
(59:14):
You. See Pebble being arrested,
obviously by some of Bertram's guards who had been following
and watching you guys. Like Pebble, you didn't make it
very far. Like you.
You stripped, got on the horse, and they were like, ah, this is
our cue. Brag Grenier.
What are you doing that that allows them to grab you?
I run up and I would like to do an insight check on if one of
(59:35):
the guards is the guard from last night.
Oh my God, yes, go ahead. That's a 7, so I have no idea,
but you have no. Idea, but you think it's him.
I say wait, wait. If you let her go, I'll give you
this nice pair of boots. The card.
Turns around and looks at you and he says son are you trying
(59:57):
to bribe a royal palace card? I'm trying to free my friend.
Don't I pay for that? He looks at his buddy and he
goes, I think this gentleman is trying to bribe us and the other
says I think he is. I'll give you both a gold to
(01:00:18):
forget about. It they one of them takes the
boots, you can subtract the boots from your inventory as the
other arrests you for bribing a guard and the boots they say are
being taken for evidence and youare both arrested.
(01:00:42):
I would like to whisper I'm getting those back right.
Oh, the card says getting what back, didn't you?
You tried to bribe us with gold. Both of you get your asses
thrown into jail cells at the bottom of the Silver Moon
Castle. You're in adjoining cells.
(01:01:03):
I'm just gonna fast track this. Trouble I see.
Yeah, you're, you're both drunkenly singing songs
together, Pebble. They pushed your clothes back on
on you and dressed you. And finally, after hours go by,
Bertram comes up, looks at the both of you, shaking his head,
and he goes honestly, like you. You could have done anything,
(01:01:27):
anything. Well, whatever.
No, no, no, Pebble. But I was I was leaving clear
signs for your guards and they just weren't taking the bait.
I don't know how many counters Igot wet he.
He looks at you, bragging. He goes, Why couldn't you just
(01:01:48):
try to walk out of a Tavern without paying your tab?
That's all it would have taken. Oh.
Oh, I, I, you know. Oh, next time Bertram throws us
here, you've got somewhere. And he says.
You're both. Now everybody knows, but now
(01:02:09):
everybody knows we got arrested.Yes, they do.
OK, everybody can hit that long rest button.
Finally. Finally.
Now I used daylight, it didn't affect the fight.
I I am going to fast track this a little bit in the morning.
(01:02:30):
Bertram does return. He makes sure that the changing
of the guard down in the cells are his men only.
He lets both of you out of your cells.
Pebble. He has a crate and he motions
his head at it for you to get in.
And. You are sealed up in a crate and
(01:02:51):
brag. He looks at you and he just says
so. You can disguise yourself now if
you want to come out as parsivalor you can assume the form of
parsival later. I don't think it matters
terribly until the wedding begins.
If you have some kind of nondescript guard leather
jerking or something, I'll just wear that until until we need to
(01:03:13):
board the airship, yeah. Sure.
He he just hands you like one ofthe royal guard like cloaks that
you can like kind of drape over yourself.
I do that and. And he kicks the crate with
Pebble in. And he says, all right, let's
get this merchandise up to the ship.
Hey Bertram, I just, I just wantto make sure my boots.
(01:03:35):
Bertram walks away. Yeah, he he like he, he looks
and he just says what boots? I don't know what you're talking
about. And and walks away.
What's he wearing? Oh, no, no.
Really nice looking boots. Let him have it right.
(01:03:55):
So everybody has finished their long rest.
You have all your health, all your spell points, all your
different things, and bragrenier.
Why don't you go ahead and roll for your sing gem and anybody
else who has anything else that has charges that replenishes
daily, go ahead and roll those as well.
(01:04:17):
Two charges back, yeah. Two charges, it's back to three.
OK, Pebble is in a crate, being unceremoniously shipped around,
jostled, tipped over, rolled this way and that, but
eventually taken to the L Thorion Braggrenier.
(01:04:40):
You're given a cloak of a palaceguard and you have the ability
to start your disguised self at any time in this is like super
early morning, like the sun is just barely starting to come up.
And at this time Nokomis give mea perception check.
(01:05:04):
Oh I have rolled a 15. Nokomis you hear a crunch of
leaves. Alert Oh Nokomis gets alerted
startle awake very quickly. And as you jerk awake, looking
around alarmed as your druid craft alarm system goes off,
(01:05:28):
Parsival is kneeling beside the bed directly in front of you.
Oh. Bitch.
Hi Parsival, you scare the Dickens out of me.
He chuckles and he goes, yeah, Iwas I I realized a little after
the fact what the leaves were for.
Yes, yes, I put those there in case somebody would sneak up on
(01:05:48):
me while I'm sleeping. He nods and is beet red and he
looks away and he goes. I just wanted to say goodbye.
Bertram is waiting outside and I'm apparently more important
than I thought I was, and he looks away and looks back at
(01:06:11):
you. Like, trying to like, make a
brave face. And he says I'm not going to be
on the airship to protect you. You were always important,
Parsival. You were important to me.
He kisses you. Nokomis wraps her arms around
(01:06:32):
Parsival. This tender moment lasts, and
then it's gone, and Parsival is rising and explaining that he
has to leave the castle, and before you know it, Parsifal and
a couple of Bertram's trusted men are walking down the hallway
(01:06:52):
and sneaking out of the castle with the tiniest glimmer of a
sunrise beginning to creep through your window.
Point of order, I think Nakomis has earned A heroic inspiration
from the kiss. You know what?
Go ahead, Nakomis. Yeah, you've you've got an yes.
You've got an inspiration you can use at any time today.
(01:07:17):
Excellent. We'll we'll call that AD 8 of
inspiration. Oh, they're going to call it a
kinky inspiration? No.
That was a very vanilla scene. Until you mentioned that he was
rising. I think the sun was rising.
(01:07:39):
All right, no. Thomas, The sun continues to
rise. The Sun.
S. UN.
Real quick brag, Rainier would like to use performance of
creation to create a disguise kit and do his best to disguise
(01:08:04):
himself to Percival. Yes.
OK. Awesome.
OK. That, that, that.
OK, everybody, I'm in a box. Everybody hears, literally,
(01:08:25):
wedding bells begin to ring all through the Silver Moon Estate,
and as guests to the wedding, all of you know to make your way
to that back training field behind the castle where the
Etherian, the Silver Moon Sky jewel is still docked and
(01:08:50):
tethered to the ground. There's long wooden ramps
leading up to the first deck. There are ramps leading to the
second deck, and there are more ramps leading to the third deck
at the very top. And as you are making your way,
(01:09:11):
a couple of Bertram's palace guards kind of nonchalantly tell
the group of you like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Your wedding party members, you're, you're going to be going
to the top deck. OK, the top deck we go.
You all make your way on to the Eltharian and the wedding bells.
(01:09:37):
Like all of the towers, the towers in the castle, the
temples in the city of Silver Moon down the hill, the the
bells just keep ringing. They just don't stop.
As more and more of the surviving guests also begin to
(01:09:58):
board the ship, many citizens that were invited out of the
city are making their way through the castle and across
the training grounds. There's long lines of people
boarding the ship, as well as a number of ramps where streams of
guards are walking onto the shipas well.
(01:10:18):
And with that, everybody can launch the map Pebble.
At some point through your travel in the crate, you were
dumped next to the altar. The crate was opened, and one of
the guards motioned with his head for you to crawl under the
altar into the It's almost like a cupboard, right?
(01:10:41):
Like a little cubby. And you are in a stuffy black
stone cubby as the rest of you Narlawine, Nokomis, Thea and
Braggoneer you are. It's open seating.
The front 2 tables are fully occupied by family members and
(01:11:07):
and other like, you know, royal guests.
But in one of the tables there is a name tag specifically for
you. Narlawine in the all.
Right. Where's my little marker?
Basically right here in the backcorner of one of the tables
(01:11:27):
that's the most north towards the altar.
Perfect. I'm going to go ahead and walk
over there with my steel defender.
So I'm going to walk towards thealtar, towards that corner spot
on the table, and just leave my steel defender tucked under the
table out of sight of Rena and Devin.
Don't want her to have a visceral reaction again.
(01:11:49):
Yeah, and as everybody is takingtheir seats, Braggrenier, where
are you choosing to sit? I would like to braggrenier I I
decided to test my disguise out.I'd like to walk over to Nokomis
and and and see if she notices and I I go.
Hi Nokomis, I I I couldn't go. You're going to have to give me
(01:12:15):
a performance check. That's an 18.
And Nikomas, I mean, Nikomas, you were, you knew the plan.
So I mean, like, it's not truly a deception, but you, Nikomas,
you can tell brag how good of a job he's doing acting like
parsable. You're doing a great job buddy.
(01:12:37):
Keep up the good work and I pat you on the head.
Excellent. Yes.
Thank you, Nikomas. You're welcome, and I gave you a
little smooch on the cheek. I I My cheeks turn red.
OK, brag as you're disguised as Parceval.
(01:12:59):
At one point Bertram told you that Parceval would be stationed
basically in equal space across from where Jacon is stationed,
at the kind of West of the altar, down from the dais where
everything has been like raised up, but a space that's like
(01:13:22):
right around here, West of the piano that's set up on the
stage. So you're you're further north
than everyone else, closer to the altar, but you are off to
the West side of the balcony. And as you take position there,
and Thea and Nokomis and Narloween, you all sit down and
Pebble from within the altar. You all feel the airshift with
(01:13:46):
it. The airship, with a jolt, lift
up off the ground, and very faster than you might think how
you are seeing the castle. Silver Moon Castle is growing
smaller and smaller below you, the bells still ringing heavily
through the castle grounds and the city below.
(01:14:09):
And the airship begins this long, slow curving turn as it
begins to slowly float over the castle.
And slowly only a few of the sails overhead unfurl and
inflate. And it begins to slowly make its
way across the castle grounds and over the city proper.
(01:14:33):
And a Bard standing directly in front of Brag Grenier, not the
Bard that died in the dinner last night.
A new one was rushed in as an emergency runs up and sits at a
very nice kind of xylophone piano and begins playing a tune.
(01:14:54):
And before long, Diedrich Still Strong, also known as Devon the
Grin, dressed in his finest Leathers and armors polished and
gleaming, walks straight up the center aisle from the South end
(01:15:15):
of the ship to the North End. And I'm going to do a roll here.
Devon stands at the edge of the Dispel Magic area, and he looks
around and he looks over at Jacon, who's standing east of
him, east of the altar. And Jacon, the greasy smarmy guy
(01:15:39):
kind of shrugs like, I don't know.
And Devon looks over his shoulder at you, Narlaween, and
grins at you, and crosses the threshold and stands by the
altar. The Devon cross to the altar,
yes. And I did an insight check to
(01:16:01):
see if I noticed where he was looking before he looked over at
Jacon. He, I yeah, he was.
He was like standing looking at the altar area.
Go ahead and give me an insight check.
That is only an 8 or only an 11,sorry.
Yeah with an 11 you can tell he stopped for a reason and then
(01:16:25):
chose to continue towards the altar anyway.
If you had to guess you get the feeling he knew that the anti
magic field was present but. You drag was only drag was only
concerned that he noticed Pebble.
No. That said, Pebble, please give
(01:16:49):
me a stealth check with advantage.
I got to stop talking. As you are.
Curled up in the altar cupboard. The dusty dust, awful for the
love. Of God roll anything but a gnat
1. I rolled A20 dirty.
Dirty 20 You are. As your own name suggests, you
(01:17:13):
are standing, stone still curledup in the altar, not moving.
The Bard begins to play on the piano and before you all know
it, the tune of a very classic you know Here Comes the Bride
begins to play. And so as this happens, before I
(01:17:36):
stand up, I kneel down, but or like I just reached down to the
seal defender that's at my feet and I cast invisibility on it
second level. OK.
And he's going to be wandering alittle bit closer to the to the
altar, so on the other side of the table.
(01:17:56):
OK, With that, everyone stands as the piano begins to play and
the music swells, and the bells and the castle and the city are
somehow ringing even harder thanbefore.
And Rena Silver Moon, Duchess ofthe Silver Moon Province,
Narlawine's mother, steps through the southernmost doors,
(01:18:21):
dressed in a resplendent weddinggown and with a wreath of
flowers around her head. Little Elvin children are
running in front of her, throwing petals on the floor as
she walks up the long length between all the tables.
All of the nobles looking, some clapping politely, others
(01:18:45):
whispering or making, you know, small talk and chatter of like,
oh, you know, the, the Duchess is remarrying and oh, but you
know what, what happened to her ex-husband and, you know,
chatter back and forth. And she makes her way up to the
(01:19:05):
altar. And as she's passing your table,
both of your tables, NAR Louine Nakomis and Thea, you're you're
seated at different tables. They're up towards the North End
of the ship. Could all three of you please
give me perception checks? Of course.
There's 20 dirty 20. Dirty. 18.
(01:19:28):
Gonna be a 17 for me. All right, all three of you see
it. She's smiling.
She's crying tears of joy. Rena truly looks happy.
And then she starts walking up the steps towards the altar, and
(01:19:51):
as she crosses the threshold into that anti magic field, the
priest raises his hands and looks at everyone.
And the music fades and all at once though.
The bells of the castle and the bells in the city all stop
ringing, and as the echoes fade, you see Rena, with those same
(01:20:16):
perception checks, standing now up literally at the altar across
from Devonne. The Grin.
And she begins to frown slightlyand looks down at the bouquet of
flowers in her hands and looks across at Devon.
And she looks over her shoulder at you.
(01:20:37):
Gnarlaween. And she gives you a small smile.
Could you please Gnarlaween giveme a history check?
11. Arctic.
Do it with do do it with advantage.
(01:20:58):
You're you're recalling something from your childhood,
so. You want one more time?
God damn that was a 19 that landed on a 3, so it's a nine.
Am I close enough to give him a bardic within 60 feet or with
that speech I'm. I'm going to say the moment
passes, you're you're within 60 feet, yes.
(01:21:19):
But Narlawayne, you, your mom, like, turns and smiles at you.
And the smile is familiar. It's with an 11.
It's the smile you remember fromyour childhood.
It's not the kind of smiling she's been doing since you got
(01:21:41):
here. It's not the kind of smiling she
was doing when all of you were sitting in the little guest room
before Frank was shooting at youthrough the the tapestry where
she was talking about how she's in love.
It's not the smile that she's been giving you all through this
(01:22:01):
campaign of a very happy, dotingmother.
She she's giving you a very logical smile, like her smile is
almost the smile you're supposedto give somebody in this given
situation, and it is the smile you remember.
(01:22:26):
Gnarla Wienel just kind of thought speech to everyone that
she's different, She she's different when she entered that
circle. So something's changed, but we
we don't quite know what. You do not know quite what.
And with that the ceremony begins and the priest makes a
(01:22:52):
prayer, a prayer to like the Godof ceremony, and then another
prayer to the God of marriage, and then another prayer to, you
know, the goddess of fertility, and then another prayer to the
sun for some reason. And it goes on and on like the
breeze just drones and praise and praise, and it's very, very
(01:23:14):
long and ongoing. And then begins talking about
duty and lineage and begins talking about the importance of
heraldry and the hierarchy of the Silver Moon Estates.
And finally the priest reaches apoint where they look out to the
(01:23:39):
audience and they say, does anyone have sufficient reason
defendable to the gods themselves to object to this
holy union between Rena Silver Moon and Deidrek Steele Strong?
(01:24:02):
Halloween thought speeches to everyone.
Do you? Do you think this is it?
Do you think this is when we have to stand up and say we have
doubt? I can.
Go. If we don't do it now, they'll
be married, and if we fail, he'll be Dutch Duke.
Do this. And so with that, I think I
would the steel defender is going to make its way more
(01:24:25):
towards Jack on or it's going tohave been doing it throughout
this entire thing after he gave me a weird look.
And I will be standing up and saying, Mom, Rena, I don't know
if you have been yourself lately, but this doesn't feel
right to me. And I have to stand up.
(01:24:47):
And I have to say that I came here with my crew and it it was
pure happenstance that that I was even found and that the
airship brought us here and we made it on time.
And Braggrenier is somebody who used to work with Deirdre and
(01:25:08):
he's told us that Deirdre isn't who he is.
So if he wants to marry you, I think he has to tell you his
real name and he has to tell youhis past.
And Braggrenier is somebody who has saved my life.
I've saved his and we fought alongside each other.
I trust him with my life. So the history that he told me
(01:25:32):
is true, and I believe it to be true.
The priest looks absolutely aghast.
And Devon is staring daggers at you.
NAR Louine and Rena, your mother, she she turns and has
this kind of like pinched frown on her face as she's looking at
(01:25:54):
you. And after you finish talking,
the first thing she says is NAR,NAR, sit down.
And then she stops herself and she looks down at her feet and
she looks up and she says, who'sDiedrich or no, Who's Devon?
Who is this Devon you're talkingabout?
(01:26:16):
Devon is Deidrich's real name. Devon the Grin here's a thief
and a trickster, and I don't know what happened here while
I've been gone, but I think he'staking advantage of you, Mom.
And I don't mean to embarrass you, but I can't sit down.
I'm not a kid anymore. I have to help protect the name
and the Silver Moon Estate. Rena looks across at you and she
(01:26:39):
goes, OK, fine, logical evidence.
I require to see something factual that says exactly what
it is that you're claiming. Where is this Braggrenier who
claims to know who this Devon is?
I don't see a Braggrenier here on the ship.
And she looks around. Gnarly.
We will answer. Braggrenier was arrested last
(01:27:00):
night. Apparently he drank a little too
much, but we found previous evidence and there should be a
pedigree that's not real. She looks at you and says, oh,
OK, so you're trusting the word of a friend who gets drunk at
night and gets arrested the night before my wedding.
(01:27:21):
Great reputation of friends you have there, Gnarloine.
And she looks around a little bit more and she says, we
checked the pedigree. The pedigree was authentic, and
now you're trying to tell me that it's fake?
Why didn't you tell me sooner? That doesn't make any sense.
If the pedigree was fake, you would have shown me and told me
and I would have been able to see it my for myself and have it
(01:27:45):
double checked. And Devon like steps forward and
like grabs her hands and he says, my love, what is all of
this? Your son has cold feet that he's
losing his father, but gaining anew father, surely tell the boy
to sit down and and let us be wed.
And she pulls her hands kind of out of his with a jerk.
(01:28:09):
And she says, why other than newaccess to trade lanes within the
Imperial border, would I be agreeing to this?
And she looks around and she shetruly looks confused.
I would like to step up and I thought, I thought speech to
(01:28:31):
Narloin and I say we're in the air, parsable is safe at this
point and I will wipe the disguise off my face and I will
I I say I was arrested to make sure that your nephew was safe.
My name is Bragrenier. Devon has been using magical
(01:28:54):
means to keep you under his charm, and one of those rings is
the cause of it. Ever goes into a rage?
OK. Nicomas and Thea are either of
you standing or saying anything to add to this.
I I'm definitely standing my, I my I have a side eye on the Jack
(01:29:16):
off so. Check on.
Check off. Duche.
I'm just trying. I'm just trying to stay aware of
that man over there. But yeah, I'm I'm definitely
standing with the with Narloeen on on all of this.
(01:29:36):
I would like to continue to press the matter with Narloeen's
assistance if I can. And I would thought speech to
Narloeen and say back and forth, let's bring up all the all the
assassination attempts on our friend, on parsable and on
herself with the Hydro while she's coherent.
(01:29:58):
I'm with you. So I'll start that off and I'll
say, well, Mom, actually, Bragoneer's right there.
That was the ruse. Because guess who was attacked?
You were. Parceval was.
And in a dark room, we were attacked.
You don't think that bolt, that arrow was meant for me?
(01:30:20):
You don't think people would tryto take the illustrious Silver
Moon Estate and try to take it from your hands?
How convenient that each of us was attacked.
So parcel is safe now? Parcel's not on a chip.
And why would a random beastmaster attempt to kill all
of your close family members andall the other nobles in the in
(01:30:42):
the Dutchie? To me it doesn't make sense, but
for someone who's about to go upin rank, it makes all the sense
in the world. The Beastmaster who worked for
Devon. The new guard who Devon felt the
need to Commission. You trust Bertram, don't you?
(01:31:02):
And yet he felt to bolster our ranks, to bolster our guard.
The guard that Bertram has trained and trusts.
Well, that was only logical. It was because there were
multiple assassination attempts and it was to protect everybody
within the castle. That made perfect logical sense.
NAR NAR. And those assassination attempts
only happened after Daedric AK Devon and his cohorts showed up.
(01:31:28):
Devon. Steps forward again, trying to
take Rena's hands. And he says, Rena, this is also
unnecessary. They're spinning wild tales.
We have been engaged for nearly a year now.
And of course yes there are evilagents of the empire who would
(01:31:50):
like to prevent our union because I represent the free
states outside of the Empire's control and you represent a
province of the elven lands and the strengthening of our 2 lands
together threatens the Empire. And obviously Frank must have
been a plant by the Empire to try and ruin this wedding.
(01:32:12):
And he turns and points at Narlueen, and he says, Gnarla
Ween, your own son came here days before the wedding,
claiming that he just happened to be found by my man.
But how do we not know that he was not gathering This group,
this cabal of five heroes, as they might think of themselves?
(01:32:38):
They could be agents of the Empire.
They themselves could be the ones here to undo this ceremony.
Your son could be working for the Empire to your own ruin, my
love. This guy talks a lot of shit.
Halloween kind of presses forward and makes his way around
the the table a little closer and starts to say, well, Devon,
(01:33:02):
I didn't even know that there was a wedding until people came
to get me and brought me here onthis airship.
I knew nothing of this. But also, you said 5.
There were six of us before somebody working for you tried
to kill one of my people. And not just tried.
She's gone. She's not here anymore.
(01:33:24):
That was your doing. Do you deny your real name?
He He chuckles and waves at you as though anything you've said
is beneath him. But your mom is looking at him,
looking at you, looking at the priest, and then looking at the
bouquet of flowers again. Thea, I see you creeping north.
(01:33:49):
I told you I'm standing up therewith Narla Ween.
I'm. Just gonna.
I. See.
You moving? I see you.
For for the record. For the record, let it be known
Pebble is holding an action. OK, OK.
Narlawine's going to demand, I want to demand that Bertram says
(01:34:12):
his real name. Bertram.
Bertram calls from the South endof the.
Ship like it really is Bertram the Red.
I'm not I'm. Then why did they call you the
red? Because of my.
Hair. It's red.
Narlawine demands that Devon says his real name in front of
(01:34:34):
Rena. What is your real name, Devon?
Tell us all now. I would like.
As you're doing. That I would like to add
applause to that I feel that a cleric trusted by Torque, your
own artificer, casts Zone of Truth on Devon away from the
altar, and Devon willingly allows that to happen.
(01:34:58):
That way you know he is not lying.
I'm sure we have clerics aboard this ship.
The priest Alexey Chu and says Iam a cleric, yes.
Would that not I? Need.
Here's what I need. I want each of you Narlawine
you. You've said a strong piece,
Braggoneer. You've made a claim of get
(01:35:22):
everyone into a zone of truth, Thea and Nicomas.
Do you add anything to this? Which will be the final
persuasion check. Ever since we landed, landed
here, I have always had a, a feeling, a, a bad feeling about
(01:35:47):
this man and the intentions of, of him and, and, and Frank just
this whole entire time and everything that we've learned
just just proves that we're right.
And whether you can see it like if you're if you're really happy
(01:36:08):
or or not, he's he is lying to you, literally feeling it since
day one. Nakomis de Ute, Does Nakomis
speak up and say anything to addto this argument?
Yes, Nakomis shouts. First of all, has almost been
assassinated more times than I can count.
(01:36:28):
And it's not because he's a target, because he's so brazen,
or because he's trying to defendyou.
It's because they were trying tokill him because of his
bloodline. They wanted him eliminated.
From 1 elk to another. Trust me, he's a good person.
He doesn't deserve to die. Pebble, do you give away your
(01:36:51):
position to yell anything from within the altar?
No, I don't give away my position.
I I'm just listening. I'm assuming they are relaying
things to me thought speech likeso that I can air quotes see
what's going on. OK.
You know, is painting a vivid picture in his mind for Pebble.
(01:37:13):
Thank you. I, I, I have the number here in
front of me. I am not going to tell you all
what the number is, everybody. I would like I would like to add
one more thing. OK.
I mention that I saw the aura ofthe Crippled God around Divan
(01:37:37):
last night. The priest clutches at his
pearls and makes a warding gesture at you.
I have reduced the DC by one. I need all 5 of you to please
make a persuasion check. No.
(01:37:57):
It is. I got 19.
Well. I bardic myself.
Nat 20. I bardic myself and Narloween.
I have a 22 with a Nat 20. Roll AD 8, I got a 24.
Roll 2D eights and take the highest.
I got an 8 but. I got a 28 or I got a yeah, I
(01:38:21):
got a 28. It's going to be a + 5 so it's
going to be a 27 and usage of flash from genius for 30.
We are not failing another persuasion.
Does my 8 help? Yes.
It's very helpful, of course. You you beat it by 1, OK.
(01:38:46):
Sometimes that's all you need. Thea 19 Pebble, I'm sorry, you
you don't actually get to add your eight to anything because
you're not talking. Well, you did say the five of
you I. I did.
I was being dramatic. I was caught up in the moment.
Sorry, that eight could be Bertram.
(01:39:06):
Well, together together, me and Narlaween added.
Nokomis 12 Narlaween 22 + 5 plusyour flash of genius.
You said so it was 30. Yeah.
Yep, 30 all together, including the net 20.
And brag you got a 24. Yeah, plus plus. 4.
(01:39:30):
So a 28 total 20. 8. No, you rolled A5.
Yeah, that's 4 + 1. That's the 2D eights.
Oh, OK, OK, I got you. OK, here's my calculator.
Too many numbers. OK, the DC for this final
(01:39:56):
persuasion check was 60. Oh, we.
Blew past that reduced. By 1:00, because of the final
caveat of throwing out that there was something about the
Crippled God, you, all the four of you combined, rolled in 89.
(01:40:18):
Even without that, almost. Ain't.
Even without the little angry rock gnome barbarian hiding in
the altar, Devon holds out a hand and is is looking at Rena,
trying to get her to take his hand.
And Rena steps back and she and she looks at you.
(01:40:42):
Narlaween with your NAP 20. And she says, this doesn't make
sense. Why did I do this?
This is a net loss for the Silver Moon Kingdom.
The established partnership thatI had with your father was a
much stronger union than any that I could make with any
(01:41:05):
border Prince, any upstart hedgeknight from the Empire.
And she looks at Devon and she says, what trade goods does your
little province even grow or build or make?
And Devon looks at Gnarlawine, looks at Braggrenier, looks at
(01:41:30):
the priest, and he shrugs. And he says, well, you know, if
you can't join them, beat them. And he turns to the priest,
holds up a hand, and a contraption shoots out of his
sleeve, and it's a handheld handcrossbow.
(01:41:54):
And he shoots a priest. No.
What's your question? Can I Sentinel now?
No. I'm up in a.
Box. No, you cannot see no.
I did, thought. Speed now.
Pebble to him. Pebble No.
I. I smash.
(01:42:16):
Narrating a scene. Do it.
Go ahead. Sorry, we will all respect the
build up that I have made. Leading to.
This respect my. Devon the grin shoots the priest
through the neck with his hand crossbow and the priest
unceremoniously falls backward against the wheel of the airship
(01:42:39):
and staggers, falling to the ground.
And Devon looks across at Rena and shrugs almost apologetically
and he says, really? The Chained One laid this all
out for me and everything was going perfectly right up till
the minute that this bitch told me to go find her bastard of a
(01:43:04):
kid, everything was going perfect.
And he looks out at the audience.
Everybody in the ceremony there on the upper deck is just
stunned and silent. And he says, well, if I can't
become the Duke of the Silver Moon Estates the way that we had
(01:43:24):
planned, this ship will just be my consolation prize.
And he holds up his fingers and he gives a loud whistle.
And you all hear shouting and clamoring on the deck below you
as steel is drawn. And you hear the shouted
surprise as hacking and cutting and banging sounds begin.
(01:43:47):
And Devon looks across from Renato Brag Grenier.
And he says, you know, you're real damn lucky kid.
You got arrested when you did because our whole crew, our
whole crew got slaughtered. We were all hung.
We all got caught robbing a place.
And he struts across the stage closer to you, Brag Rainier.
(01:44:11):
And he says, and as I hung therefrom a tree next to all the rest
of your old pals and buddies, the Chained 1 visited me.
And long after I had stopped kicking hanging from that tree,
he cut me down and brought me back.
And he told me how I could make a real name for myself.
(01:44:35):
And I was so damn close. Brag Grenier, I was so damn
close. And you and your little posse of
freak heroes have ruined everything.
Well, Devon. I hate to say it, but we both
know you are never good at making plans and I want to cast
Phantasmal Killer on them. You can absolutely want to cast
(01:44:56):
that, but everybody needs to roll initiative the.
Keen. 1720 Cheese. 19. God.
That 24 and 21. Since Pebble had a saved action,
(01:45:17):
is there Is there a surprise round for Pebble?
With that, you hear a whistle and you see all around you
grapple hooks soar up and aroundthe edge of the railing of the
top balcony and slews of steel. Strong guards begin climbing the
(01:45:41):
ropes up onto the main deck fromthe deck below.
Now there is. Just to set the scene, there is
Devon the Grin, who is at the North altar, standing closest to
Nara, Louine and Braggrenier. Rena has backed away from the
(01:46:02):
altar. Pebble is in the altar.
Jacon is standing off to the right and at the same time at
the top of the order with the whistle giving the command
Guards have popped up on the northeastern most corner, coming
up over the railing behind Jakan.
And there are three other groupsthat are climbing up the
(01:46:26):
railings midway on the West sideof the upper deck and the
southwest and southeast upper deck.
And also out from the captain's quarters, behind the wheel where
the priest was standing, comes another group.
They come barging out of the captain's quarters.
(01:46:49):
Now these are Devon's guards, and we are using swarm rules for
every group. Every icon you see on the map
that says Devon's guards, that actually represents five of
them, and they will move with the same initiative together.
(01:47:11):
They will attack together and they will all deal damage
together. They are treated as a swarm, but
for the sake of initiative overload they are grouped
together so they share initiative.
And sanity. What I will just finish by
saying is insanity has broken out all across the Etherion as
(01:47:38):
Bertram roars for his own guardsto attack and that is more of
the clashing and fighting you hear on the second deck below
you and more guards are coming up onto this top deck.
Pebble, you had a held action and have been sitting in the
altar being very good. You've been very quiet.
(01:47:58):
You you have held your tongue and not done anything crazy.
You get your surprise round. Your first attack is for the
altar. OK.
Roll it. All right. 24 OK, absolutely.
Roll. Roll damage.
(01:48:20):
Sticks. It's enough.
You bust open the top of the altar and the large stone slab
shoots up and off the edge, landing unceremoniously on the
priest behind the altar and Pebble, barely able to peek up
over the edge of it. You're able to vault up over the
(01:48:44):
edge of the altar and are there right next to Devon with your
surprise round as he yells What the tits?
You can make your second attack on Devon the grin.
OK God damn it, 10 does a 10 hit.
(01:49:05):
A10 is a miss. All of that, all of that.
OK. All right.
OK. All righty, there's my surprise
around is. Pebble happier is is that a a
good use of your surprise? I'm happy I got.
I'm happy I got to try. Bust out of the altar and Devon
(01:49:27):
is caught off guard. But you still miss that attack.
I'm sorry. Yeah, it's understandable.
It's not your fault, Lud. Me and Darlene, we put you on
edge. We definitely had our way with
things and. OK, Thea top of the turn order.
(01:49:47):
It is Thea's turn. Thea is staring at Jack off.
On. Jack off and I'm going to cast
the cantrip called Eldridge Blast.
Oh, that's a very interesting cantrip for a paladin to have.
(01:50:11):
Oh yeah, I hurl a beam of crackle energy.
Make a range spell, attack against one creature or object
in range. On hit, the target takes 1D10
force damage. I get it's a total of 2 beams.
I can aim it at one creature or multiple.
OK. But it is a it is a hit, so I'm
going to aim it at Jack off. Did you?
(01:50:33):
Did you even ask me if it was a hit?
No, I meant I have to roll to hit.
It's silly. DM I was.
Like oh, OK. DM Thea yeah you hit but.
That's it's like magic. That's right, I took over.
(01:50:53):
Probably you get 3 attacks. He's rolling.
Those. Things.
Yeah, I'm aiming it at Jack off and then the guards next to him,
right? Because so like with them
attacking as a swarm, like if I attack them that is that me
attacking like 1 as a whole. Attack, effectively attacking
all five of them. OK, All right.
So then let me roll once. That was terrible.
(01:51:18):
That's a 14 for one. That is going to miss Jacon.
And then a net 20 for the other. It's the cards, yeah.
Roll crit damage. Let's go, Thea put the fear of
the sheba. Bashib.
Yeah, Bashaba. Bashaba.
(01:51:38):
Put the fear of. Bashaba 13.
OK, that's a good hit. Yeah, and then I'm going to, as
a bonus action, cast Divine Favor on myself until the spell
ends your attacks with weapons deal and extra 1D4 radiant
(01:52:00):
damage on hit. And then I'm also moving ulcer
and that ends my term. OK, yeah, so you get up from the
tablet, you fire this Eldridge blast.
Jacon ducks under it and and like looks over his shoulder and
he watches as one of the beams hits a couple of the Devon's
(01:52:24):
palace guards and a few of them are fried by it and Jacon looks
at you and he goes. So we're ready for that rematch,
are we? Oh, you.
Bet your ass we are. I I I bet your ass we are.
Can't talk shit, OK? I can, I can shit talk.
(01:52:47):
I don't know what you're. Talking about just shut up, Just
shut up. You shut.
Up burger near 20 fucking 7. It's your turn.
All right, I I look at Devon with now that I know the fate of
my old crew with with hatred playing on my face and I, I yell
(01:53:07):
at him all those faces we grew up with Devon nails, Dolly and
Clem watching you smile while they died.
You escaped the gallows once. Now let's see if you can do it
again. And I cast Phantasmal or or
killer on him. Read that for the audience.
(01:53:29):
You tap into the nightmares of acreature you can see within
range and create an illusion of its deepest fears, visible only
to that creature. Target makes a Wisdom saving
throw. On a failed save, the target
takes 4D10 psychic damage and has disadvantage on ability
checks and attack rolls for the duration.
On a successful save, the targettakes half as much damage in the
(01:53:52):
spell ends for the duration. The target makes a Wisdom saving
throw at the end of each of its turn.
On a failed save, it takes the psychic damage again.
On a successful save, the spell ends.
OK. And what did you say the DC was?
14. OK Wisdom saving throw.
(01:54:15):
Just to show I am not full of shit, Devon did roll A-15 wisdom
saving. So what was the effect on a save
half? As much damage.
OK, so go ahead and roll your damage.
That is still going to be 27 half to 13.
(01:54:36):
Halloween skin glows and silverybarbs on Devon.
OK so silvery barbs, that means he has to re roll?
Or does it just mean that he outright fails?
No, he re rolls. It is a reaction.
I distracted the creature and its uncertainty as encouragement
(01:54:57):
for another creature. Triggering creature must re roll
the D20 and use a lower roll andthen I choose a different
creature I can see within range and they have an advantage on
the next roll for the next minute.
His his second roll was a Nat 20.
Sorry. He still uses the lower roll so
he doesn't get the net 20 benefits.
There were no benefits, he just gets sub 15 which just means he
(01:55:18):
passes and I think means takes half damage.
Yes. OK, I'm sorry.
Brag. When you say what the damage?
Was again 27, half to 213 OK. And he still sees the gallows
with all their friends hanging. It just doesn't affect his cold,
(01:55:39):
black heart. He looks at you and smirks and
he goes. I'm not afraid of that shit
anymore. I will move away from the
balcony. OK, it's a. 15.
Running S away from the altar, standing closer to Narlawing.
And I'm going to jump on the table.
(01:56:01):
Why not? OK.
Anything else from Bragrenier? No Bragrenier will end his
turns. OK.
I am standing near Narloween nowso the the audience is aware.
Yep, Yep, on the table. OK, Next up is the grin.
(01:56:24):
He is going to look at you Pebble.
And he says, oh, don't worry, I'll get to you.
I flip them off. He flips you off, Devon is
standing next to you, Pebble, and he turns and he pulls one of
(01:56:45):
his daggers from his hip and he is going to make a stabbing
attack at you. Bring it on.
Does a 26 hit. Just a little.
So that is going to be 4 points piercing damage cut in half.
OK. And then I need you to please
(01:57:07):
make me a con saving throw, OK? Does an 18 save.
An 18 does save, you still take four points of poisoning damage,
so I think that's cut in half totwo because.
You're a total of four points. Yep, you're resistant to all
damage except psychic I believe.Yeah.
(01:57:28):
OK, All right. So his first attack was used on
you and then so he stabs you once with a dagger and he says
I'll come back for you. And he runs from Gnarlauine
because of his feet that he has called mobile.
So he uses mobile, and because he attacked you, you don't
(01:57:51):
provoke opportunity attacks froma creature for the rest of the
turn whether you hit or not. Devon.
The. Grin.
Runs up on Gnarloine and he is gonna make an attack roll on
Gnarloine. With his other hand.
(01:58:14):
He pulls out his rapier. He makes an attack on Gnarloine.
Gnarloine does a does a 15 hit. It does not.
He takes a stab at you, but you parry it aside.
And that is Devon's turn now. That all you got?
(01:58:39):
That said, good the mobile feat still applies where if he moves
again Narloin you will not be able to make an opportunity
attack against him even though he missed.
Why not? Yeah, yeah.
I can't. Because of his because of his
mobile feature. Yes, yes.
(01:59:00):
OK, OK, Pebble, it is now your turn proper.
So, well, I mean, you know what?To clarify real quick, MUD does
mobile only work on the person that he attacks?
Yes, he has to make an attack onthe person, but it has an effect
whether he hits or misses. OK, just wanted to wanted.
(01:59:22):
To. Yeah, I've used to.
Clarify that, Luke. Luke G Oblin had mobile.
I'm familiar with mobile, all right.
I mean I have. Custom made Devon with
everybody's abilities in mind. Yeah, with that, I suppose,
(01:59:43):
yeah, I'm going to step down to Devon the Grin and I'm a swing
my axes. I'm a swing my sword sword.
I'm a swing my sword sword. So here we go. 17 hit. 17 is a
(02:00:04):
miss. OK, swinging again.
It's too late for me to ask about reckless, right?
Yeah. No, I still get one more swing.
I can. Yeah.
No, no, no. I'll say you can.
You can. I'll go reckless, so I'll swing
again for that first one. Yeah.
OK, OK. Does a 21 hit for the first one
that'll hit. That'll hit 6 + 4.
That's 10 damage for that first hit.
(02:00:25):
OK All right. Swinging again with advantage
does a 19 hit and. 19 is a hit. So 69, another nine.
OK, OK. And I do have a bonus action.
What does the 24 hit? Offhand.
Yeah, offhand. OK, Yep.
(02:00:47):
Does the 24 hit seven damage? OK.
OK. And yeah, I'm going to go ahead
and action surge, action surge so that I can attack again, so
that I can do that all again. OK, please roll does.
(02:01:07):
A 23 hit. Yes. 10 damage on that one.
OK force attack the dev islands got to be like half health at
this point. Does a 22 hit.
Yes. Another seven damage and I
action search. Do I get my bonus action back as
(02:01:28):
well or not just my OK, just checking.
Just checking. Wasn't trying to get one over
all right You've. Done plenty.
OK, all of you Wizards who are complaining about the barbarian
taking an expert to attack, kissmy ass.
I just, I just want to say don'tfeel like you're rolling like
dog shit. I just cast my most powerful
(02:01:49):
spell and did 13. Yeah, I know.
I I know. So you, you just doubled my
damage. You did what I should have done.
Yeah, I got your back, Jack. Yeah, no, Pebble just did
something like fucking 43 damage.
Nice. Hail and Pebble.
(02:02:11):
Oh I hate Pebble are. You.
Quite done. I've been done you.
Hail. Oh right, I'm getting mad at the
Barb. One of the mobs of guards, these
are the guards in the top northeastern corner who have
come up over the railing and allof them all at once are gonna
rush at Thea. Oh yeah, bring it on, bitches.
(02:02:34):
Oh, they're gonna try to bring it.
So this mob of five palace guards all attack you at the
same time. Does a 12 hit.
Nope, fuck off. Does a 19. 10 guards.
Yeah. OK.
And they do that with disadvantage for being within 5
(02:02:55):
feet of seal the Fender. Are they within 5 feet still?
Yep. Depending on how you're.
Doping it there just barely OK. If you measure from the base.
I'm literally, I'm literally do an edge to edge.
OK, edge to edge. Second attack it was a 19 and a
(02:03:18):
gnat 20, so I assume you would like them to take the 19 well.
Yeah, I mean, it's disadvantaged, so they have to
take the lower head. Yeah, it would be the 19, not
the 20. I think Thea can take it.
Thea. Oh yeah.
You take 5 D 6 + 523 points of damage as these five guards all
(02:03:48):
rush in, stabbing, hacking and slashing at you.
Yeah, yeah, I'm going to reaction these bucks.
OK, what is your reaction? Hello.
Hello, Shrebuk. OK, yeah, tell me.
Oh yeah. Roll the damage and then they've
got a roll Dexterity. They are not super dexterous.
(02:04:12):
The debt seriously out of two D 10's and they roll 5 for damage.
So if they if they, if they pass, it's just half.
They they rolled a 15 + 1 for 16.
OK, so they passed. OK, So what is the damage Total
5? That's gonna be half a 5.
OK, so they take three points ofdamage.
(02:04:33):
I mean, I already damaged them once, so Yep.
Yep, a few of them like your hellish rebuke flames shoot out
from you and all five of them like kind of like block their
eyes, their hair singes a littlebit, but they all grit their
teeth and they're they're still ready to go.
Bring it. Next is Nokomis Whisper wind.
(02:04:56):
I'm whispering over here. Yeah, swap Mommy.
Swap Mommy. I'm so sorry for how much time
has gone by from the last time you did.
Anything. Till now, what is Nokomis doing?
I'm going to move a little bit up and I'm going to heal Thea.
Yeah, so I just moved it to another table right quick.
(02:05:19):
And then I'm going to cast a heel and my healing word is
going to be. Peach and with Peach, how much
do you heal Thea for? 18 fucking.
Beautiful. Thank you, Nakomis.
You're most welcome. That almost put me back up to
(02:05:40):
full. There you go.
OK, for my next move, let's see,I have a bonus action.
I have a bomb of the Summer Court.
I'm going to use that. I'm going to use one bomb of the
Summer Court on Pebble. Really.
Yeah, you're just tiny injured. You're 7781.
What does that do for me It. Heals you brother, and that's
(02:06:02):
that's a sick. That's a 1D6. 1D6.
Yeah, I'm rolling it now. I have rolled for six.
So you heal for six health whichis an over heal fuck, but that's
OK. That's sweet, I'll take an over
heal. And that ends in akomis turn.
I'm gonna hide behind this table.
OK, Next up is the next mob thatis standing here at the cannon.
(02:06:31):
And in. In the top northeast corner, Oh
yeah, there are cannons lined all along the sides of of the
ship, you may have noticed. Oh damn.
Yeah, we, we, we heard about that.
Uses their movement to rotate a cannon, aiming it in a straight
(02:06:51):
line, and that is going to put both Thea and Nokomis in the
line of fire Bumper bitches and they're going to take a shot
here with that cannon. Does a 17 hit either of you?
It's me. OK.
(02:07:13):
He's trying to kill us all. These cannons are no joke.
I mean, wouldn't it cost an action to move the whole thing?
With the swarm mechanics, they are a group of five people
working together, they have wrote.
They used their movement to rotate the cannon, bonus action
to load it, action to fire it. Hold on, I had this written down
(02:07:38):
and now I'm I'm wondering if I did it correctly because that
seems like a lot. 8D10 bludgeoning. 8D10 bludgeoning is
what I had written down and I'm looking it up and that's what I
keep finding for cannons. Oh.
Are you about to one shot Thea we're.
Going to. Find out.
(02:07:59):
I mean, he added all those canyons, so apparently.
Or one shot me. Well, we've both got hit so.
You are going to take half damage since you are the second
object hit. Oh, thank God.
OK let's let's roll some dice everybody. 8D10O that's a lot of
(02:08:19):
numbers Thea you get hit square center in the chest by a
cannonball for 42 damage. He's just.
And that cannonball keeps on going, rips up the wooden table
(02:08:40):
and strikes Nokomis for 21 points of damage and more tables
behind you. Nokomis splinter and shatter
into pieces as the cannonball shoots into the ship itself.
Other members of the wedding andguests and party members are
screaming and some people are shot, losing limbs.
(02:09:04):
And the cannonball sinks into the floor and through to the
lower deck and you hear more screaming below deck and that is
mob #2. Next up, Nara Lueen, it's your
turn. Standing there surrounding Devon
on the left with Pebble behind him to the right.
(02:09:25):
What's Nara Lueen doing? So the question that I have is
what do I need for the cannons? Since the swarm is acting, I
need an individual aiming and individual loading, individual
shooting. Yeah, so typically for a cannon,
it takes either your movement oryour bonus action to aim, and it
(02:09:51):
takes an action to load and an action to fire.
OK. Once we kill Devin, I can run
over there with the cannons and help you load it, you know?
The steel defender also can, it would just lose its invisibility
by interacting. I'm just measuring the thing, so
(02:10:13):
I'm going to go ahead and promise I am within 5 feet of
Devon. So I'm going to invoke the
opportunity OK if I move and runtoward the cannon.
You're saying you are taking theopportunity attack?
I'm saying if if I were to move I would have I would.
(02:10:33):
Yes, if you. Move.
Invite an empire to opportunity.Correct.
I'm going to go ahead and throw something out of my inventory.
How far would you say that I canthrow something?
A gem, let's say. I I would say it's typically 20
feet, like the same range that you can effectively like throw a
(02:10:53):
dagger or something. All right, so I'm going to go
ahead and throw the elemental gem.
OK, I'm going to go ahead and. Throw this thing the intent of
summoning a fire elemental. Oh yes, so I'm chucking it as
far as I can into that back corner towards Devon Guards too,
(02:11:14):
OK. I hear, I hear the gears.
And in doing so, I'm going to goahead and conjure an elemental,
and that elemental will be the fire elemental.
Would you like me to read this aloud?
Where did you what conjure elemental does remind everybody
where? Oh, I bought it.
I bought. I bought this the same time I
got the potion of flying. Boy I I must have been smoking
(02:11:38):
something that session that I let you all buy all this shit.
I've I had a lot of money and I wanted to stock up very well.
The thing is I didn't bother with many feelings.
So we're going to want to keep Nokomis alive.
And so I'm going to throw this gem and when the gem shatters
and when I use the action to break it, a fire elemental is
(02:12:00):
summoned as if I had cast conjure element and the gems
magic is lost. So I call for the elemental.
It has a challenge rating 5 low or whatever.
It's friendly to me and my companions for the duration.
It rolls initiative for itself, which has its own turns.
It obeys any verbal commands that I issued to it, with no
action required. If I don't issue any commands,
(02:12:21):
it defends itself from hostile creatures, but otherwise takes
no action. And if my concentration is
broken, the elemental doesn't disappear.
Instead, I lose control of the elemental, it becomes hostile
towards me and my companions, and it might attack.
An uncontrolled elemental cannotbe dismissed by me.
It disappears an hour after it is summoned.
And that's that's important to note.
(02:12:45):
And it has a pretty nice step lock.
Yeah, it does. I'm, I'm just going to say out
loud that we're, we're going to pay attention to your
concentration on it. Yes, we are.
Initiative. It rolled a 4 + 3 for seven.
OK. So that means it can't go until
we go all the way around becauseI had an initiative of five, so
(02:13:08):
we passed that initiative already.
It would go on the next turn order anyway, regardless of what
it rolled. OK.
This turn basically summoned it and and so it now exists on the
map up there in the northeast corner by the guards who are all
shouting like, oh, reload, reload, fire again.
(02:13:31):
Yeah. So it's gonna go ahead and hang
out there and I will. I guess I don't really need to
move the steel defender can. I'm going to have it run towards
Devon. So it's going to be kind of on
par with the altar, and I said he's going to be right around
here. OK, Steel Defender, still
(02:13:53):
invisible, runs across the room and is about 1015 feet away from
Pebble, Devon and Narleen. Yep, and let's see, what can I
do with a bonus action? No, let's do a telekinetic
shove. Let's go ahead and then shove
Devon just for shits. Then, because he's the only one
(02:14:14):
within distance of me, I'm goingto shove Devon towards Pebble.
I want Devon to bump into Pebble.
OK, please do a strength saving throw.
Strength saving throw Devon. Not the most strength based
character. That's still an 18 + 1 for 19
all. Right, so nothing happens.
Devon looks at you and says, oh,we're not playing games anymore,
(02:14:42):
NAR NAR. Oh, you're sandwiched between me
and Pebble right now. The games have just begun.
He looks at me, he says I'm exactly where I want to be.
Now Lewin looks over at Pebble and says, Have you heard of the
Eiffel Tower? Wink.
Yeah, I am up on like a staircase, so that'll work.
(02:15:05):
It is going to be mob #4 which is a mob that is in the bottom
left corner. They are going to run and dash N
along the West End of the ship and they're running up on the
cannon that is just to the left of Bragg, Gnarloine, Devon and
(02:15:32):
Pebble. But they used their movement and
their action to get there. All they were able to do as a
swarm is use their bonus action to load the cannon.
But that is the end of their turn.
And now the last mob or I'm sorry, the last two mobs who
both rolled gnat ones. I I would just like to point out
(02:15:54):
two of my mobs of Devon's guardsboth rolled gnat ones.
So that is Mob four and Mob 5. They are using both their action
and their dash. And these 10 palace guards that
belong to Devon the Grin rush from the east and the West at
(02:16:15):
the same time, all of them rushing in for Bertram the Red
at the South end of the ship. And that brings us to the top of
the turn. Order Thea with A20.
You are first. You got Devon's guards right
there to your right and you haveJacon, greasy smarmy guy who ran
(02:16:40):
off to the West End of the altarand is standing next to Pebble
and right in range of Devon. What is the?
So he so he ran away. He did.
And shook it up. He got in my face about a
rematch and runs away like a little bitch.
(02:17:00):
He he did run to Devon. Hey, right away.
Like he's scared as he runs. Past you, he's like.
Have fun with the. Guards 'cause that's all you're
good for. Yeah, I'm just gonna, I guess,
swing my great sword at the guards.
Yeah. First one's a 19.
(02:17:22):
Definitely hits. OK, first damage is 11 plus.
Where's my spells? Since I did the divine favor, I
get an extra 1D four. That's another four.
So that's 15 damage for the first hit.
OK. Second hit is only a 13.
(02:17:46):
A13A13 still hits. Go ahead, roll that damage.
I'm going to roll my damage and I'm going to smite as well.
OK. So yeah, 11 damage on the second
hit. So now they're wounded and on
fire. OK, yeah, that group of Devon's
(02:18:09):
guards burning and bleeding as you are hacking and cleaving at
them, they're not enjoying life right now.
Anything else for Thea? Thea's gonna move.
No, Thea's gonna stay here. Is this that cannon's going to
hit me? I'd rather hit hit me and the
comas take half damage. This is it's hitting the
(02:18:30):
elemental first. This is not the first time that
you've been hit by cannonballs. Nope.
And definitely probably won't bethe last.
Unless it is the last and I die.I believe that is all I can do.
I'm not going to move, so it's my turn.
Brad Grenier, that brings us to you.
(02:18:51):
I'm going to write a note thoughabout the wounded and the fire.
Yeah, make make sure I don't forget.
I want to clarify something really quick.
You said Divine Guards 3 are inactively loading that cannon,
but they have not moved it, correct?
They used their bonus action to load it, but no, they have not
had the movement to turn and aimit towards anyone.
(02:19:11):
It is still aiming off the West End of the ship.
I look over my shoulder and I scream cowards as I cast heat
metal on the cannon and they areactively touching it.
Yes, they are. As they load it, yeah.
Is that a save or is it just damage?
(02:19:33):
That is, there is no save. Any creature in physical contact
with the objects takes 2D8 fire damage when you cast the spell.
Until the spell ends, you can use a bonus action on each of
your subsequent turns to 'cause this damage again.
Roll 2D8 I guess. I mean, this is just the the
(02:19:55):
pirate back in Chesterfield all over again.
That is going to be 8 damage and.
All are like grabbing it and like loading it and doing things
and they're all going like but they they are working through
the pain. And then Fragraner is going to,
(02:20:19):
despite wanting to be involved in Devon's final hour, is going
to run over to those guards and always.
Final minute, OK. And unfortunately I don't have
anything else I can do but does.Me being close, I think we will
(02:20:43):
have to. Focus on you instead of using
the cannon. They cannot.
Use the cannon if they're engaged in may life.
OK. And I will end my turn with
that. OK, that is gonna bring us to
Devon. Devon sees Jakan, his new right
(02:21:08):
hand man has run up and joined the fight and Devon grins and
turns to Pebble and is going to make another stabbing attack at
Pebble. With disadvantage from deflect.
Nope, it is flat because he has advantage from.
(02:21:29):
Being. In Five Feet of an Ally, one of
his rogue abilities. And rogues.
Pebble does an 18 hit. Yeah.
So Devon the Grin is going to doso he does 6 points of normal
(02:21:51):
damage. Half to three half.
To three, but because he has a person there assisting him, he
does get to use his sneak attackability and his sneak attack is
6D6. He can try.
(02:22:12):
Well the sneak attack is just damage, it just happens with the
hit. Even if I'm staring right at his
face. Even staring right at his face,
he is actually similar to Sarah in that way.
It is part of that swashbuckler ability of attacking the weak
point, not necessarily attackingfrom like a hiding place.
(02:22:32):
I still punch him in the balls. He actually stabs you for 32
points of sneak attack damage, which is cut in half to 16.
So 16 + 3. Yes.
OK, 19. And now he is going to make his
second attack on Nara Lewin. A Sentinel attack.
(02:22:53):
He attacked you once. Yes, but that's with Mobile.
He's not moving out. Sentinel is.
Hold on, Ephrend. Let me read mobile here.
When you make a melee attack against a creature, you do not
provoke opportunity attacks fromthat creature for the rest of
(02:23:14):
the turn, whether you hit or. Not I'm not using Sentinel as an
opportunity. I'm not using it as an
opportunity attack. I'm using it as a reaction
Sentinel attack. When a creature within 550 U
makes an attack against the target other than you, you can
use your reaction to make a melee attack against the
attacking creature. I am almost positive it's an.
(02:23:38):
If he's not moving, if he's not moving out of the way, it's not
an opportunity attack. I use the reaction, so therefore
I cannot use an opportunity attack.
I can use it in place of an opportunity attack as a
reaction. The.
Wording does say you can use your reaction to make a weapon
attack. It's similar to opportunity
(02:24:00):
attack because opportunity attack is you use your reaction
to make a melee weapon attack. You know you know, But Sentinel
specifically does not say you. Try to make a fucking.
Cool boss. Billy's real cool.
Go. Ahead go.
Ahead. Make.
Your attack, Go ahead. This is the last session that
(02:24:23):
months ever going to DM for US. 9 are you?
Yeah, I. Missed.
I missed. Narluene does.
Yes, how can I help you? Does an 18 hit.
Well, you know, I would say thatit would, but it doesn't.
(02:24:45):
I would honestly say that it would.
Unfortunately I don't like poisons so I'm going to go in
ahead and have to react with shield so it does not hit a 21.
It does not hit a 21. Oh, OK, hold on.
We have been planning this fightagainst Devin for months.
(02:25:06):
We are not letting him get away with silly tricks.
We are going to stand here and beat the living fuck out of him.
Nochemist puts her hands in the earth and we get stronger.
There is no Earth. We're honest.
In the air. What I've been, I've been in a
(02:25:32):
box, I've been in a box. How do I know this?
Everybody keeps Devil away from the edge.
Don't let her look down. I think she's afraid of heights.
He has so many abilities. OK, I that's just going to be
amiss. I forgot to use his savage
attack. Oh God, he should have dealt
(02:25:53):
even more damage to Pebble, but that's OK.
That's on me. OK, Gnarla Wien, you effectively
you raise up this blocking magical shield that blocks his
rapier's tip inches from your face as he stabs at your face
and you are not hit. Yeah, it is.
(02:26:17):
Lightning arcs up. Yeah, won't even give you the
tip, Devon. Not even the tip.
Go Pebble. Or you know what, I'm sorry, I
misspoke. Devon is going to use his
movement. Not only gets an opportunity
attack. No, he doesn't, because he has
the. Movement.
(02:26:37):
Oh no, because he just use the reaction.
No, because he has the. Mobile I also use my reaction.
He also uses his reaction, that's the reason.
All of these reasons, Yvonne stabs it in Arluene, it catches
on that electric shield you raise up and he dips, dodges,
(02:26:58):
jumps up on the table, jumps offthe table with a front flip and
lands behind Braggrenier. And he says, hey Bragg, old
buddy, old pal, you really should have took my offer.
You always were a coward, waiting until I'm fighting five
other people. He shrugs, and he says that's
(02:27:20):
what it means to be a ringleader.
You should know that Pebble. It is your turn proper.
All right, I'm going to take thedisengage action from Jack off.
Come on. I'm going to run away from Jack
off over right next to Devin theGrin.
OK. And it was the Is disengage a
(02:27:41):
bonus action or an action? Action.
Action for a. Barbarian.
OK, OK then I will second win tokill myself.
OK, OK, that is 9 hit points to me.
OK. Wait, no, get into that.
OK, 9 All right, all right, all right and.
(02:28:04):
Oh, go ahead. No, and and and I believe I was
going to say and then that's allI can do.
My new order, my new turn. I do not have a reaction.
Or does my reaction reinstate after my I take my turn?
Is at the end of the turn order. So at the top of the turn order,
when it's Thea's turn again, youwould have your real came back.
(02:28:27):
OK. OK.
Just checking because there's a lot going on.
I know it. Next up is going to be that
group of guards all tangled up with Thea Thea they are going to
make a couple attacks against. You hold on, you can just hold
on a second. OK, first roll A1D4 for my
wounding damage. No, you roll.
(02:28:48):
A 1/2. D4.
Oh yeah, 2D four. I did hit them twice.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Let me pull it up here. It's one one day for an aquatic
for each time you've wounded them.
Yeah, cool. Let me let me roll that twice
real quick. OK, that's six damage.
(02:29:10):
OK. All right.
I think you also used a fiery smite, right?
OK, yeah, but so first it's the damage with the wounding and now
you can try to. Now you can try to to save for
that you gotta. Go ahead and.
Roll. For your fire damage for the
fiery. Smite.
No the fire. The fire damage is you roll
first for the smite and if you pass you don't take damage.
(02:29:35):
It's just you only take damage for the initial one and then if
you fail you take damage. So the wounding you get damaged
and then you can save the smite you can try to save and then you
take damage if you fail. All right.
Was it a con save? They're both con saves.
The wounding is a 15 and the Smite's 13.
OK. Well, they got an 11, so that's
(02:29:55):
a fail. Burn the wounding.
The second one they rolled A gnat 2 for three.
Cool, so let me just roll 1D6. OK.
OK, that's another six damage, so 12 damage.
You watch as these five palace guards get ready to rush forward
(02:30:20):
and attack you, and through a combination of burning and blood
loss, all five of them collapse to the ground and they had
exactly 6 hit points left. They burn and bleed and collapse
(02:30:41):
to the ground in a bloody, smoldering heap.
Mob one is dead. Oh beautiful, love it.
It's they had, they had like 12 hit points.
OK, it is Jacon's turn. They just staring at Jack off
(02:31:05):
after she just killed those guards.
Jakan is looking back and forth. He's looking at Devon, he's
looking at you. He's looking up at the altar at
Rihanna. I thought you said you wanted a
rematch. Roll me a persuasion check.
Go ahead and roll it with advantage you.
You've rattled your stage once before. 15.
(02:31:27):
OK, I'm going to have his do hisown roll.
Almost landed on a net 20 but itdidn't.
What did you get, 1515? He spits the toothpick from his
mouth, draws his own sword, and yeah, he uses his movement to
(02:31:47):
walk across the upper Deus towards you, Thea.
And you, you got his attention. He ignores Devon yelling grab
the Duchess and he comes for you, Thea.
He's going to make a couple attacks, does a 15 hit.
Nope. Does a 22 hit.
(02:32:10):
Yeah. Nope.
Is that an actual Nope or are you just sassing me?
That wasn't me, that was Zach. I know the first one missed,
second one just. No.
Or does that actually? Oh, I get what you mean.
OK, OK, no. I was I I have nothing I can do.
OK. Stay in your lane, Bard.
(02:32:32):
You. Take 5 bits of damage and he
attacks 1/3 time. Dick.
Does a 16 hit. Meets it, beats it.
Meets it, beats it. Thea takes World of 1.
You take another four points of damage.
This is the second round right? So I can use my reaction.
(02:32:52):
Sure can. Cool.
Hello. Struck me with the king.
OK. He's roll a 16, so he has to
roll decks of 13. He.
Stabs at you and is saying huh? What?
Now what Now? Paladin.
He rolled 8? What?
He rolled A-15? What was the save?
13 so he takes half, so I rolleda 16 so he takes 8. 8 damage.
(02:33:17):
Yeah, he stabs at you a couple times.
He goes. What are you going to do now,
huh, Fox lady? And then you hellish rebuke and
he like holds up his hands and he goes, oh.
Just. I think he should have pants.
Nakomis, that brings us to you, Swap Mommy.
(02:33:40):
Swap Mommy's ribs are hurting a little bit from a cannonball
still recovering from behind thetable, but she's she's going to
limp over to the wall a little bit.
OK, moving E against the railing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Moving E against the railing.
Yeah. I don't.
I don't want to be. Yeah, that's good.
Yeah, that sounds good. Yeah, there's a nice little
(02:34:01):
decorative plant there next to you.
Yeah, yeah. And that there's like a cannon
there too. So I'm hoping, you know, maybe
the cannon will block other cannonballs or something.
Perhaps. Maybe.
OK. And now I'm going to heal Thea.
He's like I'm, I'm, I'm hurting,but I think Thea is hurting more
at this point. Yeah.
So Thea. Is bleeding a lot.
(02:34:22):
Yeah, we're going to do a couplethings here, my friend.
All right, so I'm going to use alot.
I'm going to use my rank four aid on myself and Thea.
OK. And who else can I use it on?
I'm just going to use my aid on Thea myself.
(02:34:42):
OK, I know that cannonball hurt.Real bad.
Yeah, it fucking hurt. So Thea you're healing for 15
and I'm also healing for 15 and keep in mind I'm using aids, but
this is the thing that it uses the the maximum hit points also
go up by 15 for the duration. Damn.
(02:35:03):
OK. Oh OK that confused me the last
time. So I add I add 15 to current and
Max correct? That is correct.
You heal for 15 and then you add15 to your Max.
OK, that works. OK.
Nokomis, the The Walking ambulatory triage unit.
(02:35:25):
I think that was just your action.
Do you do you have something you're doing with your bonus?
Yep, I'm gonna use all of my Faye energy pools on Thea so I
can use up to six. I already use 1, so I'm gonna
use five of my Faye energy poolsto do 5D6 healing on Thea.
Thea, what's your health sittingat right now?
(02:35:46):
Hold on, it's a yeah. It's at 28.
Out of. Well, now 84 with the extra 15
well. I'm just shield you for another
17 my friend. Thank you.
Thank you, Nicomas. You're welcome.
I, I create these these battles and these monster scenes and
(02:36:10):
notoriously, time and time again, I forget how fucking much
you can heal people. I don't.
Oh bad ass Arcturus you have used your action, bonus action
and movement. Is Nakomis yelling or saying
(02:36:32):
anything? Nakomis coughed up a little bit
of blood, but she's OK. She's hanging in there.
Well, that's metal. OK, It is mob two.
That is the mob that's in the northeast corner bonus action.
They have reloaded that cannon and they are point blank taking
(02:36:55):
a shot at the fire elemental andI'm just pulling out my ruler to
make sure that I'm not cheating. You're cheating.
They can hit the elemental and Thea.
They're going to take a shot. They have a + 6 to hit.
Of course. They have a risk hitting Jack
(02:37:15):
Jack off too. If they miss terribly, yeah.
Yeah, it seems like something that happens when people fire
cannons. Yeah, does a 16 hit.
I fucking hate you. Does anybody have anything?
Well, you're going. To take it's.
Don't worry, it's hitting the elemental first.
It's hitting the elemental first.
(02:37:36):
Half can still almost fucking knock me down.
If he rolls Max. Then I know, but I'm just saying
does. Anybody have anything for the
like another shield reaction or anything like that?
Just roll the damage. OK, I'm just me and Pebble are
60 plus feet away. Yeah, like can't do much from
(02:38:00):
the other side of the world. It's a big nap, I know.
Okey dokey. Oh, I apologize, I did not roll
health for the fire elemental. That's important.
I can do that. Yeah, if you wouldn't mind doing
that real quick. Yeah, how many dice?
65 + 36 + 2 of them are ones which get rerolled for health.
(02:38:30):
What? So it has 12 D 10 + 36 hit
points. What?
No. It is a yes.
Hold on 12 D 10 + 36 Oh my God. It's also a large and it has
(02:38:55):
resistance to everything. Bludgeoning, piercing, slashing.
OK. How much else did this thing
have? So the roll was 65, but do ones
get? Rerolled for this?
No, not for. Months OK 65 + 36 so it's got
(02:39:16):
101 help and it sheds bright light.
And Latin music starts playing overhead.
Yeah, yeah. But I hope you've got like some
like metal music going. I can do that.
And you're right, it is large. Wouldn't you say a large, fiery
thing in front of that cannon blocks their site?
(02:39:39):
It doesn't necessarily block their sight, but it does block
the cannonball from attacking additional things within its
line of sight. Thea you do not take any of the
49 damage that it dealt. That's.
It. That's it.
That. Is cut in half to 25 on the fire
(02:40:03):
elemental. What did you say its health was?
One O 7. One O 111.
One OK. Minus. 25 so it is now at 76.
And because it's fucking large, it takes that cannonball in its
chest and you, I mean you guys don't see shit.
But the guards who just fired that cannonball into this
(02:40:25):
flaming monster's chest watch asthe cannonball melts into slag,
dripping from its chest as it roars at them.
Fuck me, Narlawine, it's your turn.
Beautiful. Just for fun one, it's not my
turn. Nara Lewin does not go next.
It is the fire elemental's turn.Yeah, I was going to ask what
(02:40:47):
that guards 2 initiative was, but I left it alone because the
elemental was 7. They were a 13.
OK cool, I just left it alone. Also, the fire elemental only
speaks Ignan, which happens to be something that Nara Lewin can
speak. OK.
Just putting it out there, just leaving that that that fun fact
(02:41:09):
for everyone. That's, you know, real a real
classy language. What?
Do you? Have your fire elemental do.
Well the elemental is going to scoot forward let's say 6 feet
ish so it's touching the the guards 7 feet.
Yeah. So we're going to scoot you over
this this way. Hey buddy and I, they're going
(02:41:31):
to take 1D10 of fire damaged because it touched them.
Could have moved into their space OK.
Roll AD 10. So you so you cast heat metal
too. I did indeed.
They're only going to take two damage.
OK. And then the fire elemental is
going to go ahead and use its multi attack.
(02:41:54):
Yeah, 22 flaming touch attacks Ibelieve.
Yes. So it's a + 6 to hit, so I'm
going to roll my regular fire bolt for it.
Go ahead, 12 meets it beats it. All right, a 12 inch going to do
2 D 6 + 3 get it? So I'm going to need them.
(02:42:18):
To take. 11 damage. OK, go ahead with your second
attack. Does a 21 hit.
Yeah, you know it does. That's another ten damage.
OK. And I believe they are now on
fire, right? They are.
They are indeed, and since they are on fire and the elemental
(02:42:42):
has some more movement, he's going to run up about 30 feet
towards Jack off and light him on fire as well.
It's got a speed of 50. Fuck me.
OK, you turned this into this. I didn't summon the fire
elemental. I did.
No. You made us this way.
(02:43:03):
I. Have concentration that nobody
cares about. Thought speech to Narloin.
Make sure it's not too close to the yeah.
Yeah, yeah, I positioned it. And Narloin, you're damn lucky
that you cast that shield and that Devon did not hit you,
because there's a high chance you would have failed your
concentration. So there isn't for two reasons.
(02:43:26):
One, I still have advantage, my next attack ability check or
save that I have not used because I haven't had to do an
ability check or save. And I don't need to use it for
my attacks yet because I haven'tused any attacks as Narlawine
because all I did was throw thislittle elemental.
And I can give you a peek behindthe scenes, the peek behind the
(02:43:48):
screen if you would like. Oh, you're going to give me a
peek behind the screen? OK, Yeah, you.
Yeah, you know. Me, this is just a table screen.
This is just the table of VMS. I thought you knew that, bud.
Yeah. Sir, what happened was you've
noticed that my homunculus is missing.
(02:44:09):
You've noticed that we haven't had a dragonfly all along.
Well, that is because I sacrificed my homunculus
infusion during my rest to pick up Mind Sharpener, and Mind
Sharpener infused my breastplate.
And so whenever a fail a con save to maintain concentration,
I can use its reaction to succeed instead.
(02:44:29):
And I have four of those. You know, I noticed the
dragonfly, yet another icon on the map was missing.
I was aware of the dangers of summoning a fire elemental and
(02:44:49):
losing control for concentration, and I did do this
with a little bit of forethought, Sir.
Yeah, you did roll that. I was in.
I was in a box. Jack.
Off yeah, Jack. Off 1 DN.
Jacon. Jacon.
My name? My name?
Styx. Can he do me a favour and take 5
(02:45:12):
damage please? He's now on fire.
He takes 5 damage. OK, Is it not on the Wayne's
turn? It's not on the Wayne's turn.
I just want you to know that I Ilove this because I feel like
this is what mud feels like whenhe just has a cord.
Like just monsters I'd be just ramming on us with and some
(02:45:33):
somebody just fire Elemental brought me so much joy.
Just just. Elemental is literally the
cannon that he shot at the beginning.
Just ramming you all with monsters.
That's me, that's what I do. Yes, and with this, now Louise
is going to go ahead and run over to this cannon.
OK, it is red hot. Loaded red hot.
(02:45:56):
And it's loaded. Red hot, it's loaded.
Can I use my reaction to dispel my heat metal?
What does heat metal say? I believe it's a bonus action.
It's also concentration based soI didn't use the bonus action on
my turn. But it's not your turn.
(02:46:19):
The bonus action is only to do the additional damage.
Yes. It's just concentration to
maintain you. Can drop your concentration at
any time. So yes, you you can drop your
concentration for heat metal andthe cannon is no longer red hot.
So it is loaded already. Yes.
(02:46:41):
You used. Your SO to run to it.
It is aiming West off of the ship.
So I I don't think he's going tolet me bonus action aim it.
That's. But I would like to.
Aim it. I thought it was bonus action
aim and then action fire. Only if you're a horde.
(02:47:01):
No, that's how cannons OK. Are they mud?
Let. Me look here.
I I believe it's an action for each of them.
I only get to use it as a bonus action because my defender will
do an action for me. One action to load, one action
to aim, one action to fire if you are a single person.
(02:47:22):
Now that said. The defender's going to come
over and do the shooting anyway. If I can't, if I can only aim it
so it's. It's of 40 feet away though.
Your action to aim it. When I have the the defender run
over and aim it for you. So you get you actually.
I would love to. I don't know that he's going to
(02:47:44):
allow me to do that because secondly, the defender acts
after I do. So theoretically I and the
defender would both run towards this and one of us would load,
one of us would fire. But I don't think he's going to.
Already loaded, so you can use your action to aim.
Yeah, I mean aim and fire. And then the steel defender on
its turn will be able to take the shot.
(02:48:04):
Yeah, so if I aim at Devon, willBragg Rainier be in the line of
fire? Can I use my reaction to duck?
That is not a reaction ability, so no.
It's also not Bragg's turn. Narlawine is doing this.
(02:48:26):
Narlawine. Here's what I'll say.
If you miss, Bragg could. If you roll low enough, Bragg
could take half damage from a glancing blow.
And if I aim it just at the guards?
Then I would say he is safe. And if as I aim and swing it, I
bonk him on the head and he falls to the ground and takes a
(02:48:48):
1D four of physical damage. You could use your action to do
that. Well, no, my action does not aim
it. Then I'm prone and he has
advantage on me. That's true.
Yeah. Which I don't want to advantage
on me versing a boss. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Aim it at the. Guards, you might as well shoot
me at that point. Aim it at the guards.
(02:49:10):
You're still defender ready. Fire.
It's it's no, no, the guards don't have that much.
How much help do they have? Guards.
OK, fine. We'll kill.
We'll kill the guards. Well, it's fine.
We'll kill the guards. I'm going to aim it at the
guards. The defender is going to land
right on top of the thing right here.
(02:49:31):
OK. And it's going to be aimed right
at the guards and shoot down thebow of the ship.
Roll A6 or better. Actually I'll just roll fireball
because that's been a + 6. Yep, fuck that is a net one with
advantage. I'm rolling.
Nope, I'm rolling with advantagebecause of the silvery barbs.
(02:49:52):
Rolling it again. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Whoa, wait, I have it. Not the defender.
I lied. Yeah, you're defender fired.
And thank God you aimed at the guards.
I knew it. I knew it as soon as you said
Duck. I did say duck.
(02:50:12):
The steel defender lands on the back of the cannon, and the
cannon teeters upwards with the weight of the defender landing
on the back end. And as the cannon teeters
forwards, aiming out the guards, all the guards raise their arms,
blocking their faces, shouting in terror.
And the barrel of the cannon continues to tilt downward as
(02:50:36):
the steel defender pecks its fiery beak at the at the fuse.
And the cannon roars and fires, and this giant cannonball fires
through the floor of the ship. And you hear this God awful
smacking and shattering sound from the decks below as this
(02:51:00):
fire cannonball shoots through the bottom of the ship.
And all of the guards slowly lower their arms, look at each
other and start laughing at Gnarlaween.
And one of them goes, he really is a NAR NAR.
(02:51:20):
And Halloween just looks over atthe defender, goes like, that's
all right, they can't use it against us either.
And the guards all point, they go, what's this little what's,
what's this little metal toy like?
Can it like walk on its own? Is that all it's good for?
It's good for a couple things, all right.
It couldn't hit the bottom side of a.
Barn, we're standing here Point.Blank away from this cannon and
(02:51:44):
it missed us and. You'll be dead soon.
Don't worry about these, nobody is knowing next.
Up is a series of roles that I have already rolled between the
two different mobs of guards andBertram the Red.
(02:52:06):
I don't think anybody is close enough to see the South end of
the ship. There's another end of the ship.
The. South end of the ship there are
two mobs of guards attacking Bertram the Red.
They're only 120 feet away. I have a spell that reaches that
far. You're engaged, Nokomis.
(02:52:27):
Go ahead. Give me a perception check.
OK, oops, that's the wrong button.
There we go, perception. Check 15 good Sir.
With a 15 you see a mass of bodies dogpiling someone at the
(02:52:49):
South end of the ship, and you see several bodies are flung
away as Bertram stands upright, roaring in a barbarian rage.
But you also. See. 10 different of Devon's
palace guards, these two mobs that attacked him on either
(02:53:11):
side, several of them that were not thrown away rush in
Halberd's first stabbing at Bertram, he's only taking half
damage. But Nokomis, you're the only one
who can see Bertram is hurt. And then all of you feel a
(02:53:31):
shaking and a rumbling, as though something is rattling the
ship itself and Narloeen. From your vantage point, you
hear a couple more booming cannon shots and Nokomis.
You can see it from your side aswell as both of you are on the
West and East End of the railings, and both of you can
(02:53:55):
see cannons from the second deckand the lower first deck.
The cannons are firing down intothe city, and rooftops and
buildings are exploding as the cannons are shot down into the
population of the city of the Silver Moon Estate down below.
(02:54:16):
And then the rumbling grows louder and up through the center
of the map between Nokomis and Bertram.
With an explosion of splinteringwood and smoke, this large metal
object shoots through the centerof the ship and lands on the
(02:54:40):
deck next to the hole that it just jumped through.
And has anybody ever seen that old classic?
It was a movie called Aliens right where at the end Ripley is
sitting in the mecanoid like forklift machine fighting the
queen Alien. Yeah, the Power Loader.
(02:55:02):
Yeah, the Power Loader. With this explosion, you all see
Torque sitting in a machine thatlooks very similar to the Power
Loader from the movie Aliens, the mechanical arms turning and
twisting. And Torque says got here just in
(02:55:22):
time with my own more useful steel defender.
Yeah. And that is where we're going to
end this session. Oh.
Let's go to work. Why?
Why do these fights with Devon always always start so rough for
(02:55:44):
me? Oh, guys.
This map is massive. This map is massive.
You know, this is a big I I can't even screenshot so so for
the viewers or for the viewers listeners, I can't even zoom all
(02:56:05):
the way out to look at the wholemap.
It takes up like 6 scrolls to get to the bottom.
OK. It's like 200 foot long.
I was not exaggerating when all of.
You. Yeah, it's standing on a.
Balcony Looking at the ship, it is a monolith of construction,
(02:56:27):
but yeah guys, we're in the thick of it.
I I thought we might end the Silver Moon arc tonight, but it
is 12:30 in the morning over there on the East Coast.
I know we've got some E coasterson a Wednesday night who have
real lives and real jobs in the morning.
So we are going to call this session.
Here. It is as as fun as it sounds.
(02:56:51):

Rocky start to the frank. Shout out to Yamas for all his
editing. We do not make it easy for him.
To Yamas for the because let me tell you, I can't do it and I I
(02:57:11):

Yamas. Yeah, it's I'm I Yeah, yeah, I
could do it. Yeah.

which was going to be the climaxof the Silver Moon Estate Arc.

(02:57:34):
Silver Moon Arc. Join us next time.
We are going to finish this massive battle with swarms of
guards. Bertram in trouble, Torque
bursting through the floor in his steel Defender contraption,
and Devon just being really mobile and able to run around
(02:57:59):
and attack multiple people in a single turn.
Oh, and. Fire elemental.
