(00:55):
Hello everybody and welcome to an exciting conclusion episode
to the Dewey Decimated system. My name is Mudd, I am the
Dungeon Master of DND 721, and Iam rejoined in a back-to-back
double feature by the same wonderful heroes who fought
(01:16):
their way through the 1st floor of the Chaos Library.
For Chaos Library Fighting adventurers, why don't you
introduce yourselves? We'll start with Waldo up at the
top. What's up, What's up?
Waldo McCoy here, coming back a little refreshed.
Ready to play with Kilbor Pecostas, Dragonborn Paladin
(01:41):
level 5. Let's go.
Level 5 Paladin getting chased by book dogs.
We've also got with us tonight Mr. Couch Adventures.
Hello everyone, Couch adventuresLevel 3 barbarian.
I am no longer in corporal so I am ready to pick up objects and
weigh my long story. Yep, I might have to double
(02:04):
check on whether or not you still have a shadow that's
following you around calling youmean names.
Also Speaking of which, I will remind Kilborg you've got a
floating skull floating around you.
Who's ready to answer 2 questions honestly with a yes or
no answer for you next? Also, one of our little Chaos
adventurers here. It's going to be Barkoshi, that
(02:25):
happy little halfling. Hello everyone, Barkoshi here
playing Tesselhoff Burfer the I always mess up that last name
but I always hit the halfling rogue level 5 who really wants
to burn down this house because it is not a nice house.
It is not a nice house. That is the truth.
(02:48):
And last but not least, we have the crypto therapist.
Yeah, hey, crypto therapist here.
Coming back to another final episode here playing Neo, a
level 5 Keith thing warlock who loves to hang out in the
darkness. There was so much darkness in in
(03:08):
this game. So much darkness.
All right, just a a little bit of a premise recap.
The four of you are in a Chaos library that spawned itself in
the city, and the Empire Magistrate had hired the four of
you to infiltrate the facility, get into the library, figure out
(03:31):
what was happening inside, and put an end to it.
They want the library either destroyed or cleansed or
whatever it may be, because it does not belong in their city,
and they could feel the power ofChaos coming out of it.
The four of you bravely ran in and you were immediately
accosted by an endless swarm of inkling creatures and little
(03:56):
spellbook dog creatures that were cobbled together out of the
ink. And books and pages of the
thousands and thousands of tomesand books and heavy leather
bound novels and writings. As well as all the other things,
including but not limited to a near endless supply of chaos
(04:21):
scrolls that you were able to pull off the shelves to some
very wild, sometimes meaningful, sometimes meaningless outcomes.
And that's where we are now. The four of you have fought your
way through the 1st floor, and you are climbing up the spiral
staircase through the door. Neo still enshrouded by this
(04:45):
sphere of darkness around you, your little imp familiar going
along with you. Kilbor riding on his Celestial
Wolf and Couch as he mentioned, no longer incomporeal, still now
very much physical, and Tasselhoff, who still has his
floating sling bouncing along with him, cheering him on and
(05:06):
saying nice things about him. Out of the center pedestal, as
if through a portal similar to the one that Couch had walked
through in the hidden room, a massive book creature did crawl
out and in a very menacing tone, announced that the Crippled God
(05:29):
does not entertain unwanted guests and that he would enact
the final security protocol to remove you all from this chaos
library. Just for giggles, I am reposting
the picture of what you are all standing up against.
(05:51):
It is huge. It stands almost as tall as the
second floor, nearly 20 feet tall.
It is walking bipedal on 2 legs still made of books and leather
bound hardback and large origamied paper, hand claws and
sharp papered teeth glowing sickly green, blue light pouring
(06:17):
out of its eyes with arcane energy sparking off its body.
We are going to keep the same initiative order that everybody
was already in leading up to this point, and I am in this
moment going to roll initiative for the beast as it stretches
(06:39):
its limbs, cracks its neck once, and looks at the four of you.
Does anybody say or do anything immediately as they see this
thing come out of the portal in the center of the room?
Oh, my roles are better than yesterday.
Skull. Is this beast resistant to
lightning? No.
(07:00):
You have one question remaining.Really.
Yes, really. That was all your question.
Thank you. I will address you next.
For my next question, we'll. See, what about the what about
the the rooms or what is it the pedestals that we picked up?
Is it vulnerable to those? Would somebody like to do a
(07:22):
perception check taking a look at the room or you're you're
talking about the pedestals you took off the desks?
Yes, I was asking if he wants toask the skull if it's vulnerable
to those. Skull Is this beast vulnerable
to the pedestals? Looks at you and like the skull
(07:43):
almost comically, like tilts a little bit to the side, almost
like a a dog that doesn't understand the command you're
giving it. And it starts to say yeah, yes,
no, yes, no, no, yes. Thanks.
(08:04):
For the wreck. And it disappears but.
We know they have something to do with it, so that's good.
I have a feeling like that couldbe things we could maybe plug
into these large objects and then use that as the levers to
maybe turn them off tension. How heavy are the pedestals?
(08:27):
They're like, you know, 5 lbs orso like they're they're they're
made of like heavy stone. OK, I'm not realizing your
question is probably can I mage hand a pedestal?
Short answer is yeah, probably. OK, yes, that is exactly what my
thinking was. OK so guys my pedestal is in my
(08:47):
bag of holding so I have to rollto get that thing out just.
If anyone wants to hand 1 of theirs to my aunt, he can try to
invisibly fly over and attempt to see if this thing will plug
in to my. Balchrans piss to the end.
(09:08):
OK, I do a we're. Running at it like I, I had time
for everybody to like say something or like ask a couple
questions. These are actions that you're
trying to do now and you are going to have to do those on
your turns. We will do that in my turn.
OK, with that, the creature doestake a giant lumbering step
(09:30):
forward. And again, it is massive.
Just it's it's not that it's like necessarily large in body,
It's just that it is tall, it's elongated and its shoulders are
very broad and the arms stretch out.
So it takes up a lot of space without taking up a lot of mass
necessarily, almost kind of gangly.
(09:51):
And to set the scene for the listeners, as you are looking
out across this room, you are seeing that you're standing on
not hardwood floors like the library beneath, but stretched
out in front of you in all directions is a smorgasbord of
different kinds of tiles. What does that mean?
(10:13):
It's hard to say. You guys will have to do some
checks on your turns, but all ofyou as you stand there, start to
feel your feet slowly sinking into the tiles you are currently
standing on. Except for Neo who is flying a
little off to the West. OK, with that cryptotherapist,
(10:35):
you are. You had an initiative 10.
I'm sorry, you are not first. The giant book monster is going
to act first with its initiativehere, and it comes lumbering
right up into the darkness next to Neo and.
(10:59):
Do I get the impression it can see me?
Go ahead, give me a perception check. 14.
It's eyes lock with your eyes and looking up at you it says
hello little demon, I will send you back to where you belong and
it is with a giant arm swings upoverhead almost like a like
(11:23):
throwing a baseball style and overhead throw.
Its claws scrape and rake along the ceiling as it swings towards
you, and Neo does a does a 11 hit.
Negatives. I didn't think so.
(11:45):
OK, It has made its fir. It's made its swing.
That's it. That is its turn.
That is now going to be you, Neo.
OK, I'm not entirely sure if if the can take reactions like the
other ones couldn't. I suppose I just find out.
(12:05):
Yeah. OK.
Well, in the meantime, I can flymy imp over here just so he's
visible to take the item. And then if he has it out, I
guess he could just take it. Yeah.
Or would would he need your couch?
Would happen. You could your amp like as it's
(12:26):
action could take it from couch.OK.
And then if that's the case, I'll just move as far as I can.
30, so basically another 30 St. rustling.
So I could probably make it backover here rustling.
OK. Referring to.
Your amp is run down to the South end of the floor here.
(12:49):
It's in the southeast corner. OK.
Yeah, and how about? Neo himself.
OK, Knee, we'll go ahead and we'll do shopping rash.
Oh nice, 26. That will hit. 9 lightning and
(13:10):
I'm going while here. OK, so you are flying away from
the giant book monster. Yes, OK.
It does take a swing at you. Can't.
It doesn't have a reaction. Thank you.
Shocking grasp. That's right, shocking grasp.
Nope. Right.
What was the damage on your shocking grasp?
I didn't see it. 09 Pearl nine OK Lightning.
(13:34):
Yeah. Love that still.
And I think, I think that's all I can do.
OK, well now you guys do know ithas reactions, so there you go.
That's a good test. Should I do a scroll for fun?
I just think it would be in bad things.
You do see, as you fly away fromthe book Monster, there are a
(13:58):
number of bookshelves that are scattered around this floor.
They are not immediately grabbable from any place, but
bookshelves do line all of the walls along the outside.
And there are a couple of bookshelves kind of like
scattered throughout the center of the map in some different
places. But in this case you will have
(14:19):
to be more deliberately next to one of those shelves is if you
want to search it for a scroll. Open in that case trying to
choose the one I had stored. Absolutely, if you're doing
that. I need AD 100 please.
Do what happens to me? Oh, I'm not good 5. 5.
(14:40):
Once. That made it interesting.
A5 is definitely not good, Neo. As you grab the scroll and pull
it out, you realize as you are looking at it and watching it
dissolve in your hands and you're turning to tell your
companions this thing can take swings at you, that it's it's
(15:01):
fast, it's reactive. You realize you do not have a
mouth. Neo.
Oh. My gosh.
Your mouth has disappeared. She's exactly like the moon.
Yeah, it. Is that is completely
unintentional. Agent Smith.
Yeah. So for any what did this do?
(15:24):
Hold on, let me pull this back up.
This says that you no longer have a mouth and that is a typo.
So you can still cast spells that are material or somatic
that use your hands, but you canno longer cast verbal based
spells, nor can you verbally speak with your companions.
(15:48):
Lovely. Do I have any idea how long this
lasts? One hour.
Oh my gosh, would a lesser restoration spell fix this?
Would take something bigger. In this particular case, because
this is a home brewed thing, if you had if somebody had a lesser
restoration, I would let them roll for it.
(16:08):
You would do like your spell casting check and if you rolled
high enough you could undo this chaos magic.
I do. Have that spell, but obviously.
How about this spell level 4? Oh yeah, this spell.
I could do that too. Minecraft A.
Dispell level 4, so it's not really like a levelled spell.
(16:30):
This is chaos magic. It it's something that defies
the known world established pantheon of like the the Rubicon
of spells. There, there really isn't just a
spell that makes a person's mouth disappear.
So this is something else entirely.
You're not sure what it is. You can absolutely use that
(16:52):
fourth level dispel. There is still going to be a
role for it. If you're using a fourth level
dispel, I am going to tell you the DC is set to 12.
OK, well I can't do anything this round anyway, but we'll see
what happens. I know some other people have
some scrolls of this spell. Those can be used against the
(17:13):
wild chaos magic rolling A5 on the D100.
This is a pretty powerful negative spell.
So it it is it is beefy. It is possible, but it is still
a roll to make it happen. I got a level 6 to spell.
You. Might not.
Choose to use it at any time butthat I I will.
(17:34):
I am going to be a kind DM and say that that might be a ace to
pull out when it's a life or death situation perhaps, but
entirely up to you. Understood.
Entirely up to you. Most of my spells are verbal, so
I'm kind of out of out of the game expect getting rid of this
(17:54):
stuff so but yeah, anyway, that's my turn.
That, that is a nasty one. All right, that brings us to
Kilbor. Kilbor riding on Fred the Wolf.
OK. I think I'm going to go ahead
and I'm going to ride Fred over by Neo, and as I pass by I'm
(18:16):
going to throw my level 6 dispelat him.
Or should I? Or can I use it on him?
Yeah, you can use it on him. It will be a action to cast that
scroll. OK, let's do it.
OK, you write up. You're using your sixth level?
(18:36):
Did did I hear that right? It's a six level dispel.
Yes, it's a level 6 dispel, Yes.Neo, your mouth suddenly reforms
on your face as Kilbor pulls outthis dispel scroll.
You feel your lips reform, your mouth parts and your teeth and
tongue and everything returned to you.
(18:56):
Sweet. Thank you.
You're welcome. OK, I am going to get over here
to the corner. Let's see how far is that.
If you have run about 35 feet toget to where you are now, OK,
we'll just call it 30, just a nice even 30.
(19:17):
And then the pedestal in the southwest corner, it is another
55 or so feet away. Just call it again an even 50 to
reach that. How about right there?
All right on that tile. All right.
So I've got a bonus action left.I would I would like to try to
get the pedestal out of my bag. Out of your pre owned bag of
(19:41):
mini things. Yes.
Roll me AD 20. AD 20.
Yep. All right.
So A5 or better gets me what I want.
And under A5 is just six or better, 10-6 or better.
OK. Thank you.
A 19. You you pull the pedestal right
(20:02):
out. The pedestal has the ghostly
woman like as you pull it out, the the the kind of willowy
whispowy blue wizard girl looks around, sees the giant book
monster, looks at you and says intruder alert security protocol
is still engaged. Intruder, you do not belong
here. I try to smack her head back
(20:25):
down into the room. Your hand passes straight
through it. She puts her hands on her hips.
You'd swear the little wizard ghost thing is pouting at you.
That's funny. That's all I got for my turn.
Thank you all. Righty, that is going to bring
us to Tasselhoff. All right, so I look at my
(20:49):
little my new best friend, the spectral swing, and I tell them,
OK buddy, it's time to get serious for my bone.
Serious buddy. Yes, let's get serious.
And then I put my short bow awayand pull out my mealy weapons.
And then for my main accident I cast my mate's hand and then
(21:18):
make it pick up my pedestal thatI got.
OK. Yeah, it grabs the pedestal and
same thing, the same wispy blue lady comes out of the pedestal,
looks around, same thing. And she says intruder alert,
intruder alert Tasselhoff, If you would like, you could choose
to use your bonus action to takea take another look at your
(21:43):
pedestal. I did use my bonus action to
switch. Oh, that's right.
OK. Yeah, maybe next time.
Yep, maybe next time and I how does my hand like moving work?
You can tell, so you can. It's a spectral floating hand.
(22:06):
It appears at a point. You choose and.
Up to 30 feet. Move up to 30 feet away from
you. OK, but I can't this turn.
I have to wait until night's turn.
OK so all I have a hand and it and it disappears if it's
farther than 30 feet from me. Correct.
(22:28):
OK. So.
I am then just going to take my movement and just kind of move.
To right here. And that'll be my turn if I move
a little north just from where we came in at.
OK. And if that is your turn, that
(22:52):
is going to bring us to couch. All right.
So if I heard correctly, you said that we're not standing on
solid? No, your your feet are slowly
sinking into the ground where you stand.
Can I see anything weird about the different types of tiles in
this room? You see on the tiles that you
are standing on, it is the pretty tall tale sign, almost
(23:18):
like glyph like glyphs of dunes and desert and sand.
OK. Is there anything that is
visible from say the blue tiles or the red or green tiles?
You would have to get. Close to them.
Great. Does it look like any tiles are
(23:40):
normal? Give me a investigation or
arcana check, your choice. Couch rolls like 14.
You see glyphs on pretty much every tile, all across the
floor, in every direction. With a 14.
(24:02):
You can't make out what they are, but you can tell that many
of them are different. OK, can I move to the four brown
tiles just north of the box? Yeah, those are some, yeah, kind
of like brown, black mosaic. You definitely have enough
(24:24):
movement to run up to there. Would you like you?
You. If you would like it is up to
you. You can use your bonus action to
more closely study the tiles that you are now standing on.
I don't want to risk it so I canget into rage and attack the
boss. You got it.
But there's also the bonus of a scroll that it has.
(24:46):
That is also a thing you got. Yeah, and we can just grab
scrolls, right? Well, with where you are, yes,
you are kind of like next to a shelf that does have books and
scrolls on it. OK, let me go ahead and just
grab a sprawl. So that'll put two in my
inventory, OK. So be your bonus action I.
And then, sure, let me go ahead and roll for it, see what
(25:09):
happens. And then we can all tap from
there. OK, D100, let's see if Couch can
roll a little bit higher this time.
It's higher but not probably nothigh enough.
I rolled A31. Boy Couch is our poster child
for body horror in this one shotCouch, a searing burning pain
(25:35):
that cuts across your forehead and it feels like a cattle prod,
like a like something used to, you know, burn and mark cattle
and livestock. And as you bring your 22 fingers
up to your forehead and feel it,you have a magical burned brand
(25:56):
across your forehead that is a magical rune that for the.
I need you to roll me AD 6 for the next two days.
All sentient creatures you meet are immediately suspicious of
you and. We're on the boss.
This also applies to your 3 companions, Neo, Kilbor and
(26:21):
Tausselhoff. For reasons you can't explain,
you guys are suddenly having some trouble outright trusting
Kilbor or not Kilbor couch. Jeez.
I was going to say Kilbor. He feels no difference.
So I waved my hands very friendly like with my 11 fingers
(26:45):
and to try to get them to see that I'm not the enemy here.
And with that action I will alsoor with that gesture I will also
take my action to attack the boss.
All right, let's go. Give me an attack roll.
I was suspicious until I saw the11 fingers.
(27:05):
There's a 13. A 13 is a miss.
Your sword plinks off one of those hard leather bound books,
sparking away from the giant book monster.
It looks over its shoulder at you and you've got its
attention. Good, now everybody can run
free. OK, couch.
(27:27):
Anything else with your turn there?
I think that's for me on this round.
OK, I need to roll a couple things here.
OK, First off, Tasselhoff, you're only three feet tall and
at the top of the round during the layer action, all of the
tiles that everyone is standing on begin to glow.
(27:52):
Tasselhoff You find yourself suddenly hip deep sinking into
the sand and not only do you feel that you are sinking down,
but your legs come out the otherside and you can feel your legs
kicking in open air on the 1st floor below you.
Guys, guys, we're, we're, we're,we're thinking.
(28:13):
You're sinking couch adventure standing on the black and brown
tile which you have not identified.
I need you to roll me two D1 hundreds please.
Yikesh. Rolled A1A1 plus a 70 or a 71.
You really rolled a gnat 1. They did.
(28:37):
No way. Yeah.
Used your couch? You have heroic inspiration
which allows you to re roll any dice you choose one time.
I I have. A.
You might. Be you might be dead if you
don't. After every long rest, you have
one heroic inspiration. Heroic Inspiration allows
(29:01):
players to re roll. Yeah, yeah.
No promise. Immediately after it's been
made. But you must accept a new role
even if it's worse, which it can't be worse.
This replaces the previous advantage granting inspiration,
and can be used on any die roll, not just D 20s.
I mean that language is pretty specific, so I think I have to
(29:21):
allow it. Roll 1D100.
Roll. 1D100. 58 + 70 is that better?
You don't even know we're just going to.
I'm going to just read the Nat one for you.
A rift in reality begins to appear in front of you couch,
(29:45):
your life flashing behind your eyes as you suddenly are staring
into primal, raw chaos. And on the other side of this
rift, you see the Chained one onthe other side with glowing red,
(30:05):
bloodshot, putrid eyes, crusty pus sticking to his eyelids in
the corners of his eyes, rottingbreath reeking, comes floating
out across the rift. And you what?
What does heroic inspiration look like for Couch?
Like what does Couch do as he realizes this is a potential
(30:27):
reality he might suddenly be dealing with?
The vision of his son back at home is his heroic inspiration.
That's beautiful couch. You see the Crippled God on the
other side of this rift. 1 impossibly massive hand begins
(30:49):
to reach out through the chaos rift.
It is reaching to grab you like a toy and pull you into the
chaotic madness that it dwells within.
And you clench your eyes shut and you think of your son.
And the rift suddenly snaps shutand you hear the grotesque
(31:16):
cackling sounds of the crippled God as he is cut off from you.
And you hear a voice say not this time, but you'll get yours,
couch. And instead you get a 53. 58 +
(31:40):
70 so 128. Or 58.
Thank you Couch. Could you please roll me AD 6,
Couch? You open your eyes and you look
down and your skin is shining and there are magical arcane
tattoos spreading across your arms, glowing with arcane power,
(32:03):
and your movement speed has justbeen increased by 10 feet.
That is much better. Nice.
A nap. 1. Is damn near perma death at the
hand. And I can only use that.
(32:24):
I can only use that once for a long run.
That is correct. That heroic inspiration is gone,
Sir. It has a close one guys.
That's all She starts jumping upand down, cheering.
Couch. Build a cripple God couch.
Build a cripple God. He's so awesome.
OK, I need to move on. Neo, you are standing on the IT
(32:49):
kind of looks like bathroom tile, right?
The the kind of like yellow bluecheckered flooring I need.
Neo, please. I'm I'm floating technically.
I know even from where you are flying, I need you to please
make me a Dexterity saving throwand I'll give you this.
(33:09):
Since you're flying, you can make it with advantage.
OK, that 20 is pretty good. I'll take the 20. 3020 Yep.
Neil, You look down and you see that the tiles beneath you,
actually they look again, they look like bathhouse tiles,
right? They look kind of like tiles
(33:29):
that you would see in a bath house.
And they have little metal frames are in the center of each
of the small squares within the tile.
And do you realize at the last second that those aren't drains?
Those are holes at spikes shoot up out of the ground all the way
up, stabbing into the ceiling and you just barely twist your
(33:51):
wings and dodge out of the way of the spikes.
Yikes. And red is technically standing
on the kind of matte Gray or thebrighter Gray marble tile.
I need Fred to roll AD 100 please.
(34:14):
Just one D100. Oh, 21-A20 and A1.
Yeah, 21 right, 21 OK, Yeah, 21.I need both you and Fred to make
me Dexterity saving throws, please.
(34:36):
An 11 and a six. Those are both fails.
The skull that had answered yourquestions reappears directly in
front of you and it says oy, I'mback, but I'm not here to answer
your fucking questions this time.
And all of its teeth detach fromthe jaw.
(35:00):
And a hail of teeth sweeps across you and Fred, and you and
Fred both failing are going to take 3D6 of damage.
And I rolled like such garbage. I rolled A1A2 and A4.
You both take 7 points of damageas teeth cut and slice across
(35:24):
your skin, flying out of the skull's mouth.
And then a toothless skull looksat you, starts laughing, and
disappears again. I said man, your breath stinks.
All right, that brings us to thegiant book monster.
Giant book monster Saw saw Couchwith his heroic glowing skin and
(35:51):
it takes several lumbering stomping steps towards Couch and
it is going to make an attack roll.
Couch does a 16 hit. Could you please roll me AD 8?
Couch rolls an 8. Oh boy.
(36:12):
OK I created this encounter and I it it is what it is.
You rolled an 8. Could you please roll me two D
20s and you are adding them together?
A92 for an 11. Oh, no, OK, with an 11, I
(36:36):
apologize. I have to I, I, I have to be a
little selective here because with an 8 that is technically an
eighth level spell that is beingcast.
Might be a little weak for this dash.
I I'm at so at level, so that's 5/10/15.
(37:03):
So that's 20 feet 10. So that's 30 feet total.
Is anybody within 30 feet of kilbore?
I think Tasselhoff is, but I think you're the only one.
You mean 30 feet from couch? Or from couch?
Yes. Did I say kilbore?
(37:24):
Again. Yeah, Tasselhoff.
Yeah, I'm sorry. Tasselhoff is about 18 to 20
feet from him, yeah, but he's also half sunken in the floor.
Yep, it's it hits him. OK, you need to please make me a
Wisdom saving throw both of you,as it casts the spell confusion
(37:47):
at 8th level, which means it hasa radius of 30 feet.
Couch rolls another net one. Well, that's a fail, Tasselhoff.
What did you roll 17 -, 2 for? 15. 15 is also a fail.
(38:10):
OK, Couch and Tasselhoff are confused.
You are unable to take bonus actions or reactions, and at the
start of your turns I will need you to roll 1D10 and at the end
of each of your turns you may attempt to repeat the save.
(38:35):
That is the end of the creature's turn, and that is
going to bring us to Neo. Sorry.
Yeah, OK. I'm going to have my end looked
it over here. That's his whole device thing,
OK. And see if he can see something
that would be able to plug the thing into which I'm saying.
(39:00):
OK, so you took the pedestal from couch?
Yep. How intelligent is your imp?
Let's see, average he's got 11 intelligence.
OK. But I mean, like in terms of
like commands that you can give him, like I know that he has, he
(39:20):
can like be your ally in combat. He's able to disappear.
Oh, yeah, any, any command that he can do with his hands, you
know, I can tell him to do. There's your commands.
OK, it try it, it it does see a spot where the pedestal would go
(39:43):
that it would almost like click into.
And from your vantage point, yousee the amp is trying to push
the pedestal into the block thatit fits into on that pyramid
there and it's just not fitting it.
It's not, it's not attaching andyour amp in whatever kind of
(40:06):
like form or fashion tries to communicate to you of.
It's not working. It's not fitting.
OK. Does it say like the shape is
different and where it could putit?
Have your amp give me a investigation check.
There are symbols on the pedestal and there are symbols
(40:30):
on the arcane pyramid in this place.
They do not match. But he cannot.
With an 8, he can't quite figureout what either of the symbols
looks like or means. OK, I'm.
Pretty sure it's like fifth element.
We're going to have to find which of these goes with which
(40:50):
one, and this one is not it so. Fantastic.
On his next turn, he's going to yes.
On his next next turn, he's going to attempt to fly up to
investigate another one. But in the meantime, I'm going
to lose. Let's see, are these like,
(41:10):
what's on the map now? Are they bookshelves?
Yes, there are. There are bookshelves on in
several of the places. That's what all the little brown
rectangles are. OK, so there's like a bunch on
the wall and stuff like that. Definitely all.
Right. Well, I'll fly as far as I can
to about there. Flying along the southern wall
(41:31):
just South of Kilbor and Fred, who suddenly find themselves
enveloped in complete darkness. Sorry, you know, I don't even
really need this anymore to be honest.
Let's see. In fact, can I dismiss it with a
bonus action? The darkness.
Let's see here, yeah? I guess I could just choose to
(41:53):
like not Yeah, you, you can juststop.
It because it's a. It's a concentration, so you can
choose to stop concentrating on it at any time.
I'll I'll just do that because Idon't think it's screwing up
anymore. And then?
Suddenly in the light again. OK, with my action I will pass a
(42:15):
spell the creature. OK, I'm going to try to do
Sorcerer Sorcerer's burst like this guy.
OK. Not very good 12 I think I
missed anyway but 1212 is a missis my role.
Does anybody couch? Where are you at hit point wise?
(42:41):
I'm still full of help. I never got hit right.
OK, man. Only nearly consumed by a chaos
God and hit with the extreme wave of confusion but no damage.
Mentally, mentally I'm not doingso well.
Physically, I'm I'm peak performance.
Your shadow is floating around above your head going he really
(43:02):
is a dummy. Look at how look at how
unintelligent couch is. He doesn't even know where he is
anymore. Oh man.
Well, I think that's about all Ican do.
I don't know if that made chain can pull Tassel Posh out.
Worth it trying to anyway. That's all I got all.
(43:23):
Right, that will bring us to Kilbor.
Yeah, I would like to kind of look at the tiles and do an
investigation as I get closer tothe amp and see if my pedestal
will fit in the hole. Yeah.
(43:44):
OK. So you're you're running up like
next to the amp, next to the Southwest pyramid structure.
Yeah, I'm going to come right over here.
OK. Are you standing on the bathroom
tile looking one or are you standing on the kind of concrete
Gray tile? We're going to go right there on
(44:05):
that tile, the the green yellow looking tile just to the
northwest corner of or the northeast corner of the
structure. Yeah, go ahead and give me a
investigation check. I roll a 12.
(44:25):
I don't think you could see it because Neo was in darkness when
it happened. But as you're looking at the
tiles, you see images of Spears and it's it's just glyphs of
Spears. What's what's on my pedestal?
I want to look at my pedestal. Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you
(44:46):
were looking at the floor. Oh yes, I I was.
Now I want to look at my pedestal.
OK, the pedestal you're holding,go ahead and give me a
investigation check as the blue woman appears on it like hands
still on her hips, like pouting at you.
A 5. It's got markings on it, but
it's really hard to say what they mean.
(45:10):
I'm going to go ahead and try totry to stick it in the hole.
OK, that will cost your action to try and interact with this
magic object. Yep, let's do it.
OK, the you you start to press it against the indent in the
pyramid, and with a very satisfying sliding thunking
(45:36):
sound, the pedestal slides into place.
And then as you let go, it twists and the pyramid unfolds
like a opened package. And beneath the pyramid is
another pedestal, like the one that sunk into the pyramid, the
(45:58):
one that you set into it. There is a pedestal there with a
glowing, pulsing amber room thatyou are free to touch if you
would like to. Yes, I want to grab it.
Yeah, you touch the room and it springs to life, the little blue
wizard lady, and she is sitting at a desk reading a book.
(46:23):
And it is just a static image ofher sitting and reading at a
desk. And as you see that give me,
give me a history check, OK? So she's just like sitting in
the room. Yep, it's it's like a a
projection. Like a a a wispy ghostly
projection of the blue wizard lady sitting at a desk reading.
(46:48):
Wow, Kilmore's like in awe. Just like staring this thing
down 14. With a 14, you recall when you
first grabbed at the pedestal inthe northwest room of the first
floor, it started to say that you had reached the reading room
(47:08):
and that this was the reading desk.
And then it started to say, wait, security is still enacted
and there is a security protocol.
And it just started saying intruder alert.
You have placed the correct pedestal with the correct
pyramid and activated the rune and it is glowing and static.
(47:31):
And there are two more of these in the far northwest corner and
one in the far northeast corner.I'm like yelling at the guys.
I got one in the hole. I got this little shiny, shiny
rock with a lady in it. She's reading a book.
Is she telling any good stories? She is sitting there muttering
(47:54):
intruder alert, intruder alert, intruder alert.
I think she's a little irritated.
Kilbor, I believe that was your bonus action, your action.
I think you still have some movement, is that right?
You know, I guess I do. I probably can't get that room
(48:16):
from the amp, can I? I'll call it a free action.
Yeah, you. You could take it if Neo allows
his amp to freely hand it to you.
Who? Who has the third one?
The mage. How?
Oh, the mage hand. OK.
The Mage hand next to Tasselhoff.
(48:37):
Or do you want me to go save? Tasselhoff well, my amp is
pretty fast. He could probably make it there
by the next turn. And let me see, actually make
sure. Yeah, you should be able to make
it there by next turn, Yeah. Tasselhoff is about what, like
(48:57):
80 feet away? Yeah.
So I I don't, I don't think I can make it quite Tasselhoff
right now, but I can get closer.Well, you can go that way where
you can take the pedestal and you can run to the north around
the monster. It is up to you.
We'll let. That.
Start heading back Yeah, I was going to say start heading back
towards me. I think I can get out but just
(49:21):
think. I mean even if I can get out
myself, I can hand to, I can send my mage fan to you to give
you the other. Pedestal very good.
OK, so I went about 20 foot on that last movement.
Yep. So I'm going to go, I'm gonna go
40 over here. That would get you right up next
(49:43):
to one of the bookshelves just southwest of the Book Monster
and about halfway to Tasselhoff.Right.
Go right about here. Okey doke.
Having successfully activated the Southwest security pedestal,
Kilbor rushes on his Celestial Wolf steed.
(50:06):
Fred across the tiles. And just for everyone to know,
you are standing on the concreteGray tiles.
OK. Frank Frank is standing up
tiles. Yes, Fred.
Frank. I I think I keep calling him
Fred. Fred, Fred, Fred, Fred.
(50:26):
Sorry. OK, that is going to bring us to
Tasselhoff, confused, half submerged in sand.
Tasselhoff, I need you to pleaseroll me AD 10.
You really, really, really want a nine or A10?
(50:48):
How about a two? You cannot move or take any
actions. OK but I can my mage hand still
gets to move right? Yep, your mage hand is still out
and you do have a bonus action still available to you and at
(51:13):
the end of your turn you can re roll that wisdom save.
OK, so first my mage hand is going to go over here and drop
the pedestal. OK.
And it's going to come back to me.
Tried to pull me out of the sand.
Tasselhoff I I have to believe you weigh more than 10 lbs.
(51:37):
I do, but with it, it wouldn't be like it's carrying me.
My thing is it's like I'm tryingto scurry up the sand and it's
like the an extra. Yeah, it's it's you're, you
(51:57):
know, mage hands are non sentient things.
They're not, they're they're notpeople, they're not ghosts.
They're it is just an arcane manifestation of kind of a
projection of 1's will almost inthe form of a hand.
And you swear this hand is gripping your wrist, just
(52:23):
fingers digging in as you are slowly sinking deeper into the
sand. This mage hand is just pulling
and yanking on your hand and arm, just trying its little
valiant best to prevent you fromsinking deeper.
What's your joystick? My what?
(52:47):
Your happy happy Joyce tent. Oh.
I'm gonna give you a little handthere, buddy.
Well, hold on, it gets oh on my savings throws that gave me a
Blues, my little sling. I think it was like a + 1.
(53:10):
It was and it was a + 1 on all saving throws.
OK, here, here's what I'm gonna do.
We're not gonna wreck on this because the the spell save for
the giant book monster is a 16. You would have met it.
I am going to firm, but fair. Firm but fair.
(53:34):
But what's cool bonus action your staff lays down on the
ground. It's like you're in quicksand
and your staff lays from the tiles to the north of you and
whips the sling out, wrapping around your other hand, your
mage hand pulling on one arm. The sling wraps around your
wrist and your happy little guy pulls on the other hand and your
(53:57):
little sling says, come on Tassel Hoff kick, you can do it.
You can do it. Come on Tassel Hoff, you got to
get out of that sand roll me in athletics check.
It takes movement to get out of this trap.
I will, I will let you do an athletics check with your mage
hand and your staff helping you.About a 12 + 4 for 16.
(54:23):
Your staff and mage hand slowly slide 3 foot tall Tassel Hoff up
out of the ground and across thesand and I'll let you choose.
Do you want to be on the concrete tile or do you want to
be on the bathroom tile? I think.
I would go with the concrete, just I don't want to fall
(54:44):
through again. Yeah, felt like thinking.
Your sling pulls you across and you look down as the sling
slowly unwraps from around your wrist.
And the sling stands up and withthis, like, almost cartoonish,
like little face that's on, likethe head of the staff that's
been talking to you this whole time, it says Tasselhoff,
(55:06):
Remember, I always believed in you, but you always have to
believe in yourself. And the sling evaporates in a
mist and disappears. Nobody.
I will always believe in myself to the view.
(55:27):
I will always remember my new best friend.
Roll me that wisdom save. You get a + 1 on your check.
Of 15 -, 2 + 1 for 14 Tasselhoff.
You are filled with the motivational inspiration of your
(55:48):
childhood toy, but you are stillconfused.
What are we even doing here, guys?
Like I mean what? What?
What's the point of all this? I I just don't get it.
That it's going to bring us to couch.
Couch. I also need you to roll me AD 10
please. Roll the 9:00.
(56:09):
Yes, that is so good for you Couch.
You get to choose your behavior.Nice, but I still have 22
fingers and everybody in this room hates me so.
They are suspicious of you and your shadow floating around you
says oh look at couch. Couch has free will.
(56:34):
I'm going to take that. That's great.
All right. What did these files do for me
last time? Staying on them?
It was a. That's where I had.
Wild magic with disadvantage. Chaos magic with disadvantage.
Yeah, let's let's try some different tiles and see what
that. Black tiles are bad.
(56:55):
OK, let's do the Gray silver battery tile looking ones.
Yeah, that's the kind of I've been describing that as like
Gray concrete. And bonus action, I'm going to
rage to try to give me a little bit more anger and hatred on my
horrible rolls and attack the boss.
(57:16):
Let's attack that boss does an 18 hit on an 18 does hit.
I am going to do my D 10 + 4 andthen rage would be +2 right?
Yes, Sir. A 5 + 4 + 2 for an 11. 11 points
of damage, Not too shabby. The monster looks down at you
(57:41):
and starts laughing at you and it says your shadow has the
right of it. I'm just keeping them busy,
guys. I know that you're suspicious of
me, but continue putting those ruins in those little places in.
I think that'll do it for me. All right, that brings us to the
top of the turn order, which is the layer action.
(58:03):
Well hold on, don't think he have a chance to.
I'm confused. Oh yeah, yeah, I'm sorry Couch,
you do get a get to roll AnotherWisdom check to try and shake
the confusion. I am still confused.
Couch throws A4. Yeah, your shadow just continues
to taunt and talk about how you just failed every class back in
(58:25):
school. It's true.
OK, top of the turn order layer action concrete tiles happen
first in Oh my gosh, all four ofyou are on the Gray concrete
tiles. I need everyone to roll me
Dexterity saving throws. Please DC-14.
(58:48):
Pass AHA failed with the 12. Kilborn got an 18.
OK, so. Kilburn That's a pass.
Do I get an advantage in or fine?
Not on this. All of you feel a sudden and
powerful gust of wind hit you. Couch and Tasselhoff.
(59:10):
You were the only two to fail. Couch 14 meets it, beats it.
Kilbor 18 beats it. I'm sorry Neil, I'm not seeing
your deck save. Oh, I was going to You said it
was 14, right? DC-14 Yes.
OK, I'm going to expend a luck point because I did sail.
(59:31):
OK, I'll reroll. I'm a man.
That's crazy. What did you get, 13?
OK, everybody who failed, this gust of wind hits you.
I need you to roll AD 8. What's better, higher or low?
It is depending on where you're standing I guess.
(59:54):
What kind? I got a three.
Who got the three? Sorry, none of your rolls are
showing up for me. So again, who Couch?
Let's start with you. What did you roll?
Where am I saved? It was a 14 you said.
That's still bad. Oh, you're right.
Meets it, beats it. OK, Tasselhoff, what did you
rule on the D8A3? OK, Tasselhoff, you are thrown
(01:00:17):
20 feet straight to the east, slamming you into one of the
bookshelves. Could you please roll me AD six
of its falling bludgeoning damage?
Two damage. OK.
Or two. Yep, 2 damage and neo.
(01:00:38):
Could you please tell me what your D 8 was?
7. OK.
You are tucked up against that southern wall.
You are thrown 20 feet straight to the West.
I'm up in the air, dude, by the way.
Yeah, you are. So you're you're thrown but you
(01:00:59):
don't collide into the bookshelves.
Thank you. That was helpful actually.
OK. Thank you, Sir.
May I have another? That's going to bring us to our
giant book monster. Giant book Monster looks at
Couch and kind of again, cocks its head to the side and says,
you're supposed to be confused. Looks at Tasselhoff, looks at
(01:01:25):
Couch, looks back. You can kind of see Fred and
Kilabor peeking around the bookshelf back there, turns to
Couch and is going to take another swing at Couch.
Bring your. Couch, he rolled a 19.
Yeah. Couch, could you please roll me
AD 8, 2? That's a lot better.
(01:01:46):
Please roll me AD 100. Couch rolls a 40 + 3 A 43.
As you are looking at the creature, it begins to blur in
front of you as the Chaos book monster casts the concentration
(01:02:08):
spell Blur, Any creature has disadvantage when trying to
attack the book monster. I knew I should have got my eyes
checked. It's it's it's unnerving to the
eyes. It, it blurs and bends and
distorts. It's like, I don't know how many
DARE kids are here when you would put on the drunk goggles,
(01:02:29):
like when the the DARE program would come and be like, this is
what it's like when you drink and drive.
No, maybe just me. OK, I remember.
Dare. I never hit the goggles.
I did the program but I never did the goggles for us.
Yeah, they brought us goggles that you had to put on and then
tell you to like walk a straightline and it just, it threw your
(01:02:51):
balance and everything way off. Everything was twisted and
kaleidoscopy. It was honestly dumb.
I've never been that like I've been drunk and I've never had my
vision do that. But it, you know, was trying to
prove a point. Anyway, creature now has
disadvantage on attacks made against it and that is going to
now bring us to Neo. Think I can make it to the
(01:03:13):
bookshelf here? Pretty close.
I'm showing you in the southwestcorner there.
Did you move on the map? Yeah, I moved make it to here,
this bookshelf. Yeah, OK.
Because I believe you're pretty much.
Speed is is it still 30 feet? I think it's 30, yeah.
Yeah, OK. You're you can definitely reach
it. OK, cool.
(01:03:34):
I'm going to go there and then I'm going to have my M and my
amp move up to the other thing to see if this is the right one.
What is your amps movement speed?
So if he dashed, he'd have 80. It should just barely be able to
(01:03:56):
make it there. Yeah, it's right on the edge.
I'll give it to him. He flaps all the way across the
room to the northwest corner there.
Give me a investigation or arcana, whichever you would
(01:04:16):
rather your imp do. 17. OK, with a 17, it can see on
this pyramid there is a image ofthe ghost woman and she is
standing with one hand on her hip and one finger pointing up
like she's shake and the like the ruins begin to like shift
(01:04:40):
back and forth almost like a crosswalk sign and she's shaking
her finger side to side. And your amp wasn't there.
Which which pedestal is it carrying?
The one that couch was holding? Yeah, yes.
OK. It wasn't there.
It doesn't. It doesn't know what the
(01:05:01):
pedestal said to Couch. OK, so it doesn't look like it
lines up. You know what with the 17?
No, you do see the symbols do match.
OK, can I have him try to put the thing in there?
(01:05:23):
Yes. So for him, I, I, I, I screwed
this up earlier. This is a shame on me.
There was supposed to be either an Arcana check or a sleight of
hand check to get the pedestal correctly placed into the slot.
So I will again, I will have youchoose sleight of hand or Arcana
(01:05:44):
Kilbor. I apologize.
It is an action to do it, and I was supposed to make you roll to
correctly manipulate the pedestal into the slot.
So do you want my amp to make a sliding hand roll?
Or Arcana, your choice. OK, I'll do our sleight of hand.
OK, what's the DC included? The DC is a 12.
(01:06:05):
It's not terribly hard. Oh, good enough.
We stumbled with it but can't quite get it in there right.
Yeah, with a nine, it's like flapping its wings and it's
holding on to this thing and it's like trying to like tilt it
at the correct sloped angle and it it just can't quite line it
up and slide it into the indent.OK, he can try again next round.
(01:06:30):
With that I will go ahead and attack the monster again.
OK, click kneel. This time I'm going to do Sacred
Flame. That would be a deck saves for
the creature he sees 15. It is not.
Very. Dexterous.
I'm going to tell you right now.I assume that so I picked that
(01:06:52):
one. It got a good thing is there you
go. Now he loses his concentration.
OK, so OK. Sacred flame.
Flame, like radiance, descends on a creature that you can see
within range. The target must succeed on a Dex
SIM through or take in this case2D8 gradient damage.
(01:07:16):
The target gains no benefit fromhalf or three quarter cover for
this sayings. And because he's taking damage,
he loses his concentration. Well, he is no longer blurred.
That's true. 14 damage, 14 radiant damage.
Nice. OK, 7/3.
Has to beat so 14 cut in half would be 7 but the minimum is a
(01:07:42):
10 so he has to be a 10 on AI. Believe it's a con Save now in
2024 rules. On save Yes for the
Constitution. OK, dexterity, not great
concentration. He's he's pretty good.
Let's see here. He's got to do a 10 or better.
He rolled a Nat 15 rolls up to adirty 20.
(01:08:03):
So he he does keep his concentration.
Oh, that, that works. He still took 14 damage.
Or yeah, 14. Damage is no joke.
And I believe that is it for my turn.
Did you use a bonus action? No, but I don't really have one
thing to. You are on top of the book
yourself if you want to grab a scroll.
(01:08:25):
That didn't work out so well forme.
I'm saying they're there. I know, I know.
You get a kick out of it. I think I'll, I think I'll wait.
This time, I don't know, Couch has all these tattoos now that
are making him 10 feet faster and it's there's, there's good
stuff in there. I I did you really well last
time, but yeah, I think my luck.Got a got a childhood toy that
(01:08:48):
probably just saved his life pulling him out of the sand.
It's tempting, I'm not going to lie.
OK, well. Let's move on.
Maybe next? Kilbore, that brings us to you.
We're going to, we're going to run over here to this where the
statue is. It's still there, right?
(01:09:12):
Yeah, the the pedestal that the main channel dropped.
So I would like to have Fred pick it up with his teeth,
right? And sure as as he's doing that,
I would like to take a shot at this, this giant book monster,
(01:09:33):
the spawn of the crippled God. And yeah, I'm going to take a
shot at him at the Longbow. All right.
Give me that attack roll. How about a 20?
Does a 20. Is a hit, yeah.
OK, we're going to throw some Divine Smite on top of this one.
OK, how about 9 piercing damage there?
(01:09:56):
OK so this is really my first Divine Smite.
Somehow. So that's 2D8 radiant damage,
OK, for a total of 8. OK, let me see here you get to
roll an additional 1D8 as you deal radiant damage to this
(01:10:20):
chaos being. It is not technically a fiend,
but I I treat chaos spawn as fiends most of the time.
And did you say that was one D8?Yep, you get to add an an
additional D8 to your damage. Another 5.
All right, so that there so thatwas 98 and 5 like 22 damage
(01:10:46):
there. Nine.
Yeah, it makes. Yep. 22 damage.
That is not too shabby. At all.
Yeah, Thanks for the money. Several books come flying off
its shoulder as this divine's arrow pierces through it.
A couple of the pages begin bleeding black ink that drips to
(01:11:06):
the floor beneath it, and the pages curl and singe around the
radiant energy and the book monster whips around away from
couch looking at you and Fred and lets out a menacing bee
steal growl. All right, well, I'm going to
take the rest of my movement andwe're going to ride right up
(01:11:28):
here. And as we do that, I'm going to
yell at him and I'm going to say, I'm going to send you back
to your crippled God and you tell him I'm going to got a
message for him and I want you to tell him we're coming for
him. Hunkers down staring at you and
says perhaps you'll have a chance to tell him yourself.
(01:11:51):
Kilbor laughs, and I believe that ends his turn all righty.
Wait I'm confused how to speak the crippled God.
So how are you going to stand? Kilborn, through the Crippled
God, wanted to have her. The creature points a finger at
you and says yes. Stay confused, little halfling.
(01:12:15):
With that it is D10 please. Roll it all right?
Two. I think it was a 9 or 10 I
needed. Yeah, with A2 you are unable to
move and unable to make an action, but you do have a bonus
action available to you. I think I am just going to use
(01:12:41):
my bonus act and use my scroll of dispelled level 4 to try to
take away my confusion. OK, it is a level 8 confusion.
Let me let me pull up the spell real quick because there's a
role for it. Let me see what it is.
(01:13:03):
You have to be a 1717 or better.OK.
And I saw you do my intelligencethen.
It is an intelligence check. 9. You can't understand why your
scroll just dissolved in your hands.
All right, and then I'll be the end of my turn and I will do my
(01:13:26):
wisdom check. Wisdom save, please.
Yeah. Oof, one, it's not in that one.
Dirty one, dirty guys. These these these Wisdom dump
stats have just killed you this game.
Yeah. OK, that brings us to couch.
(01:13:49):
Couch D10, please. Ouch.
Rolls A-77. You cannot move, but you can use
an action to make one melee attack against a random creature
within reach, which is only the book monster.
So you are free to free to attack the book monster.
(01:14:10):
That is a. Good monster to hit.
I do have disadvantage. Yes, he is still blurred.
Was it 7 hit? What did you roll?
A 112 + 6 is worse. Oh, that's a so I rolled a net.
One that's a net 1 Sir trick. You swing and your blade tinks
(01:14:35):
off of it and it you you can't move but you stagger.
Could you please just roll me a flat D20?
You won an 11 or better. That shows a 14.
You stagger backwards onto the bathroom tiles with the runes of
(01:14:57):
Spears underneath them. Can I use my last scroll?
Yeah, you have a bonus action. Sure.
Well. It's not like you can get worse,
right? Yeah.
Why not? Let's use it.
I I designed this whole one shotto rely on the chaos.
(01:15:18):
That the D100? Yes Sir.
How about a 90? 4 a 94 is really good.
Wow. You finally did it, Couch.
It only took two nights. Couch.
And 22. Fingers.
The scroll burns away in your hands and you cast the spell
(01:15:40):
mirror image on yourself. Oh no, two mentally ill couches.
It's more targets for them to hit.
Mirror image 3 Illusory duplicates of yourself appear in
your space until the spell ends, which is one minute.
(01:16:02):
The duplicates move with you andmimic your actions, shifting
positions so it's impossible to track which one is real and
which one is fake, and you can use your action to dismiss them
at any time. If you have an action, each time
a creature targets you with an attack during the spell's
duration, roll AD 20 to determine whether the attack
instead targets one of the duplicates.
(01:16:23):
If you have three. There's some math that I'll have
to do, but basically this makes it harder for this thing to hit
you. That sounds fantastic and one
minute is 10 rounds. 10 rounds, yeah.
Are they at a disadvantage or confused?
So they are illusory, they just mimic you.
They don't act on their own, they only they only mirror what
(01:16:47):
you do on your turn and make it harder for an enemy to determine
which of you is real and which one of you is an illusion.
So basically what that means is that when they attack you, if
you have 3 duplicates like you do right now, they have to roll
AD 20 and they have to roll A6 or higher, or you roll A6 or
(01:17:11):
higher and they attack the duplicate and not you yourself.
OK. And how long was my disadvantage
for? When you attack him, that is a
concentration spell. He has it in effect ongoing, so
it it doesn't go away until he casts something else with
(01:17:32):
concentration or someone hits him hard enough that it breaks
his concentration. That's pretty good, couch.
That's a good roll. That's it.
That was a good one all. Right, so I can do a wisdom save
now? Yes Sir.
Wisdom saving throw please. A12. 12 still doesn't cut it.
(01:17:52):
We're getting better, yeah. You're getting closer.
Top of the turn layer actions couch.
Please make me a Dexterity saving throw.
And we're back to worse. Couch throws 1/4.
Romeo D8. Please aim.
At 1:00. You are thrown by the wind 20
(01:18:14):
feet to the north, away from thegiant book monster, and you land
on the emerald green tiles, but you don't collide with anything,
so you don't take any damage. Kilbor and Task.
Yeah, everybody's on the concrete tiles, so everybody is
rolling these Dexterity saves. Particularly on the bookshelf.
(01:18:36):
Well, just above the bookshelf, the.
Space within that tile is what'saffected.
That's why it also for the concrete it it still gets you
even while you're flying. Gotcha, so deck soon.
Yes, Sir, that's off. Got a dirty?
20. That is a pass. 1919 is a pass.
(01:18:59):
OK, 11 kilbore. Got an 11.
Kilbore, please roll me AD 8. The 8 coming at you?
How about an 8? An 8 throws you straight to the
West 20 feet. You collide.
You and Fred both smash into thegiant book monster.
(01:19:20):
Please roll me AD 6 of damages. You collide into the colossal
creature. 05. And it looks down and says, so
eager to meet your end, and it'sgoing to go to its turn and it's
going to take a swing on Kilbore.
Oh, right. Kilbore does he?
(01:19:42):
I did get that's five damage on on Fred as well.
Fred as well, yes, and I I know Fred has his own HP, right?
Yeah, do I roll for him or does he take the same damage?
Yeah, go ahead and roll for him.Watch your roll A6 instead.
(01:20:03):
The D6D. 6. Oh, I'm sorry, A4.
OK, he takes 4 points of damage.I believe he's got something
like. 18. 18 left or 18 total. 18 left I I gave, I put late.
He had 25. Oh, that's right, you did feel
(01:20:24):
him at one point. Yeah, I put 10.
I put laying hands on him and gave him 10 more.
You know, OK, great. OK.
If he took a swing at you, I think this is a miss.
He rolled a 17. Who meets it beats it.
Meets it, beats it. Roll me AD 8 please.
Another 4. OK, a four is not as bad as it
(01:20:45):
could be. D100 please.
Says 10. Oh boy, OK, it's not blurry
anymore. As a new concentration spell
takes effect, the book creature looks around and says 4 on one.
Not exactly. Very chivalrous of the four of
(01:21:08):
you, brave, bold, all good doingadventurers.
And it casts summon construct. It calls forth from the IT calls
forth the spirit of a construct. And it manifests an unoccupied
space, A construct spirit which has its own stat block here that
(01:21:33):
I now have in front of me. It is going to be also made of
the leather bound books in the shape of a clockwork almost
mechanoid creature. It, it looks statuesque, almost
like it's humanoid and in a statue, but it just is a little
uncanny valley like it's arms again are a little too long, the
(01:21:55):
necks a little too long. Gears begin to twist and grind
and turn and it is an ally to the book monster and it takes
its turn immediately after the book monster and will obey its
verbal commands with no action required.
Kilbor, the construct is going to take a swing at you.
(01:22:18):
First roll is A5. And that's a mess.
Second roll is a 15 + 2. It's it's another 17.
Oh, it got me. Kilbor you take 10 points of
bludgeoning damage. 10 point, OK.
And that is the end of its turn. And you know what?
(01:22:40):
Just for fun here we're going toput a little icon on the map
that you and Couch might recognize.
No, I don't. Like.
That guy. All right, that's going to bring
us to Neo. Neo, it is your turn.
(01:23:00):
I'm going to lose my dash to slide over to my amp and he is
going to attempt again with thisthing in the hole.
Yeah, Sleight of Hand or Arcana DC-12 DC. 12 ah 11 goodness.
(01:23:30):
I'm sorry that that is so. You used your movement and your
bonus action to dash. That would be dash would be
action. OK, it is an action to try and
manipulate the pedestal into thepyramid.
Right, but the the oh, the inputzooming in, yeah.
Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep. OK.
So I quite, yeah, I was going totry to help him, but you know, I
(01:23:56):
already used my action to dash, so I'll have to do that next
round. You do have a bonus or standing
directly next to a bookshelf. Tempting, but I want to live.
And now that everybody knows what a Nat one does and
everybody's like, I don't want that.
Exactly, yeah. And I was close.
(01:24:17):
I rolled the fire last time, so I think that's probably all I
can really do this round. So yeah, that's all I need to
do. And I believe you said this
wings last 10 rounds, right? Something like that, Like I'm,
I'm starting to think like you might have another round or two
of, of having the wings, yeah. I think it's either one or two
(01:24:38):
more rounds if I calculated right.
Yeah, I was what are what are being just nice about it.
I I will give you one more turn with your wings next turn with
your. Turn.
That does sound about right. OK, that did sound about right.
I was kind of keeping track, but.
I was. I have. 100.
Percent. I've got so many tally marks on
my notebook. Here it's it's one of these.
(01:25:01):
Yeah, no, it is next you. Left this turn and my bonus
damage turn and he got his wingsthe turn after I got my damage.
OK, that sounds about right. Yeah.
OK. Tasselhoff That brings us to our
our happy little confused halfling.
Let's get this. Oh no.
Is it a Waldo's turn? Or Kilbore?
(01:25:24):
Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry, Kilbore. It is your turn.
You're face to face with the monster.
I am face to face with the monster.
Two monsters. Two monsters.
Let's see what I got here. I guess I'm going to shoot an
arrow at this book monster's little buddy here.
OK, go ahead and make an attack roll.
(01:25:47):
All right, that's a 17 hit. Meets it, beats it.
Meets it, beats it. Nice.
OK, I think I'm going to go ahead and throw a Divine Smite
on this one as well. Not a bad.
Call 5 for that. So it is also a being of chaos.
So it'll be 3D eight for the Divine Smite.
(01:26:08):
AN-888 more damage. OK 13 damage total.
The you you cut and shave off this gelatinous cube of the
clockwork golem. It is like this weird mash up of
almost like thick Jelly flesh with these spinning clockwork
(01:26:29):
gears that are working in tandemwith the puckered and putrid
construct flesh that is attachedto everything.
The longer you look at it, the more your head starts to hurt.
Is he? How bad?
How bad is he hurt? I mean, he didn't like that, but
(01:26:50):
he's he's, he's got a bit of health left.
Is is Fred close enough to them or far enough away where he can
get away? Or are they going to get an
opportunity attacked on him? They would both get an
opportunity attack if Fred triesto run away.
You were. You were thrown into the book
(01:27:10):
monster and it summoned the creature like right next to it
and you. Fred's Fred is pretty pissed
off, so he's growling. He's going to, he's going to
take a bite at the ankle of this.
Yeah, go ahead, make that attackroll for Fred.
OK, that was Charisma, correct? Yes, Charisma +24 that is a
(01:27:35):
miss. It bites into the mechanical
ankle of this thing and without making a sound the the flesh
construct bends over and looks directly into Fred's growling
face. I am going to stand my ground.
I'm going to try to protect Freda little bit here all.
(01:27:56):
Right now, that will bring us toTasselhoff.
All right, the confused little half lane.
This confusion spell is killer, I know.
Yeah it is. So I rolled an 8 on my B ton.
OK, can't move, but you can takean action and a bonus action.
(01:28:16):
OK. To attack 1 melee attack against
a random creature that is withinreach and you have your Did you
switch to your melee weapons or did you switch to your ranged
attack? I switched to my melee weapons.
I'll, I'll leave it up to you. I you will have to do a luck
check to see if you attack Fred Kilbore, the construct or the
(01:28:40):
giant book monster. But if you would like to switch
to your ranged attack and potentially get a shot off at
one of the bad guys, you've got a 5050 chance.
No, no, no. I'm going to use my bonus action
and misty step. Let me enter that right.
Here. All right.
(01:29:03):
And now I'm going to take my attack at the Giant Book Month.
Absolutely. You misty step across the sand
tiles right up next to the book monster.
Make that attack roll. Does a 24.
Hit. Absolutely.
It does roll some damage. I believe this.
Is your last acid? Attack right?
(01:29:24):
Yes. All right, yeah, Roll that
damage and add your D4. OK well I'm going to add a lot
of damage, so first it is 10 damage and then I am used in the
Spamatar of Wounding tip points lost to this weapon.
Damage can be regained only through a short or long rest
(01:29:47):
rather than by regeneration, magic, or any other means.
Once per turn, when you hit a creature with an attack using
this magic weapon, you can woundthe target at the start of each
of the wounded creatures turn. It takes 1D4 necrotic damage for
each time you've wounded it, andit can then make ADC 15
(01:30:11):
Constitution Savings Throw, ending the effect of all such
wounds on itself on the success. All right.
Alternatively, the wounded creature or a creature within 5
feet of it and used in an actionto make ADC 15 Wisdom medicine
check ending the effect of wounding.
(01:30:34):
Got it. OK, so on its and when it starts
its turn, it will take that one D4 damage.
Now I believe you also have somelike you were saying, you got
some other things to stack on here.
Go ahead. Yes.
So on top of that that attack I'm going to make it with green
(01:30:55):
flame blade. You brandish the weapon used in
the spells casting and make a mealing attack with it against
one creature within 5 feet of you on head.
The target suffers the weapons attacks normal effects and you
can cause the green fire to leakfrom the target to a different
creature of your choice that youcan see within 5 feet of it.
(01:31:19):
The second creature takes fire damage equal to your spell
castings ability modifier. The spell The spells damage
decrease when you reach a certain level.
At fifth level, the immediately attack deals an extra 1D8 fire
damage. Do the target on a hit and the
fire damage to the second creature increases to 1D8 plus
(01:31:43):
your spell casting ability modifier.
OK, so. So I'm going to do.
Yeah, I'm I'm looking at this. I believe that means it's two D
8 + 3. Yeah, so it's 1D8 for the book
monster and then one D 8 + 3 forthe golem.
(01:32:06):
OK. So the book monster takes four
and then the book monster or thegolem takes 8.
OK, I also had it take the 10 damage from the scimitar itself,
so the book monster has taken 14damage total so far.
And then I'm also going to stackthat with my sneak attack on the
(01:32:29):
book monster, and that's another12 damage still.
Just like an at will thing that's not a bonus action or.
It's not a bonus action, it's just when I do damage.
It's a sneak attack special. OK.
That is 12. OK.
And then now I do the 1D4 for mylast acid so that is 3.
(01:32:56):
So the halfling rogue misty steps across the room and deals
out 10142629 damage to the book monster and also ate damage over
(01:33:18):
to its flesh construct. That is no joke, man.
And then hold on. So I'm also I have mastery with
scimitars, so that allows me to have Nick.
When you make the the extra attack of the light property,
you can make it as a part of theattack action instead of as a
(01:33:41):
bonus action. This extra attack can only be
made once per turn. So now I'm going to take my
second swing with my sword. Sword.
There's a 20 hit, dirty 20, all right, and it takes another
seven damage. Well, you all know who has the
(01:34:03):
book monster's attention now. Imagine where we could be if you
weren't playing in the sand earlier.
Right, Okie. Dokie.
And does it have to make a concentration save for the?
Golem. Oh my God.
Yeah, it. On my first attack.
(01:34:26):
No, from like all the damage it took.
So that's 3636. Cut in half is 18.
It has to do 18 or better to keep its concentration.
Wait, is this construct a concentration?
Is no the. The construct is a
concentration, yes. Oh, so you're no longer blurred?
(01:34:46):
Yeah, yeah, the blur went away. I'm almost positive, I said.
That I always spell. That it solidified.
I I may have missed it, but yeah.
OK, yeah, you did. That's why I knew I could sneak
attack. OK it has a + 5 to wisdom.
I am rolling the D20 has to beatan 18.
(01:35:06):
It rolled a 12 + 5 for 17. 1 the.
Golem construct begins to melt as gears and pieces of it swoff
off its skeletal, frameworked body and this oozing puddle of
(01:35:27):
flesh falls to the ground. That's all starts to wiggle back
and forth. My best friend was right, I can
do it. And that's the end of his turn.
I should think so. Couch it is.
(01:35:48):
It is Couch's turn. What is still wrong with me?
You are still. Confused.
It's A It's AD 10. Oh wait, wait one second, I need
to make my savings through. Oh yes please.
I rolled a Nat 1 so I'm going touse my halfling luck and re
(01:36:08):
roll. Excellent.
And I rolled a natty 20 for an 18. 18 will do it.
You shake off the confusion. Let's go.
Suddenly everything is clear to you.
Tassel Hoff. Your sling buddy was right.
(01:36:30):
OK Couch DD 10. Outro's A6.
Can't move or take actions, but you do have your bonus action.
Should already be raging. So yeah, you are raging.
Sorry. That that hurts, that bites.
(01:36:51):
But I can roll the Is it Wisdom sedan?
Yep, you can try to shake off the confusion I.
Think I'm going to retain your couch and rolled another Nat
one. Oh no.
So what we need to do is somebody needs to buy some dice
online for Couch and mail it to him so that Couch can just
physically roll some dice that are not the digital dice.
(01:37:13):
This is horrible. I need to.
I never restarted my computer, so I think that's the problem
here. Boy, sometimes those dice are
cursed. I'm going to add, is there dice
that you can buy digitally? There are.
I mean if you want to pay pay money on DND beyond you can get
like, you know, fancy dice on DND beyond.
(01:37:33):
You might have to just coach that for cursiness.
Yeah, OK. Top of the turnover of their
action. It is the tiles Neo Dexterity
saving throw please. We're all done 18.
The wind can't move you. Couch, please.
(01:37:54):
You're on a green tile. Please roll me a strength saving
throw. A 13 + 5 for 18.
Vines shoot up out of the emerald tiles trying to wrap
around you, but you pull and kick at them, ripping the
vegetation trying to entangle you, and you are unaffected by
(01:38:17):
the entangling tile. Kilbore, I can't believe this is
happening again. Kilbore your feet.
You look down and you're suddenly standing on water
because I believe you still havethose boots of water walking.
(01:38:38):
Is that correct? Oh boy, I think those were A1.
Were they a one time item? I think they were A1.
Those were definitely a one timeitem and it was 2 episodes,
yeah. Yeah, that was that was the
Serpentine Duke Kilmore. You start to think to yourself
like oh the ground looks like it's turning to water, that's
(01:39:00):
not an issue and you suddenly plunge into the water.
You are able to tread water, you're not like sinking or
drowning, but it is similar to the prone condition as you are
now basically level on the ground with just your head
sticking up, but on your turn you can use half your movement
(01:39:21):
to climb up out of the water. Gotcha.
Fred is he's in getting in protect mode.
I I Is Fred also in the water orwas he on the grey tile?
I don't know, let me zoom in. I know you both kind of like
were used. I think you were still riding
him, right? He's I I thought I got knocked
(01:39:44):
off, but he's we're. Going to put him.
He's in the water. With you, he's on the same tile.
Yeah, he's in the water with you.
OK. And tussle Hoff exteriority
saving throw, please. How about a 12?
Romeo D8 please. Oh.
You guys love these wind tiles. 3.
(01:40:06):
Tassel Hof is thrown 20 feet dueeast and you slam into the
sinking sand tiles. You are not like buried yet, but
if you end a turn on the sand tile, you will begin to sink
into it again. I'm having.
(01:40:28):
Deja vu. OK.
And you also, as you land there, you look up as spear spikes
punch through your mage hand andit dissipates in a puff of
smoke. That is the book Monsters Turn.
It was going to take a swing at Tasselhoff, but it's looking
(01:40:50):
over its shoulder. It sees Neo trying to mess with
the pyramid pylon in the northwest corner Kilbor.
It is going to take a swing at you with advantage as you are
bobbing up and down in the waterthere.
Oh no. I did roll A4 and an 18 I
(01:41:12):
believe the eighteen hits. The 18 hats.
Give me AD 8. That's.
For Kelbar, rolled A4. D100 please.
I kind of like these D1 hundreds92. 92 Oh no Oh, I'm that.
(01:41:34):
Doesn't sound good. It's not This is going to be
interesting. I need you to make a wisdom
saving throughout DC-16 and you really want to pass this. 18.
Kilbor you begin. As you are bobbing there in the
water, you feel your corporeal form begin to shift and change
(01:41:59):
as the book monster cast 4th level polymorph on you.
But you maintain your essence and your shape, and you resist
the spell, and you are not changed into a beast.
Cowboy's. Cowboy's praying.
(01:42:20):
Yeah, he is. With that the creature growls
angrily and is going to use its movement as it slaps its giant
orangutan like arms on the ground several times and it's
going to run its full 40 feet crashing across the floor.
(01:42:42):
It's coming after Neo. It does not want you doing what
you are doing with that securitypylon.
Oh it needs to make AD 4 wounding damage.
It took one point of damage and it is going to do what was the
save on that tassel Huff? DC-15 Constitution.
(01:43:04):
It rolled a three so it does notshake it nice.
Who has the last pedestal? We'll need about two or three
turns for me, two, two, probablytwo turns for me to get up
there. Let's go.
Yeah, Kilbor is holding the third one with that top of the
order that is Neo. Neo, you've got the second
security pedestal in your hands. You are there, you and the imp.
(01:43:30):
So we don't have to like wreck on this or anything.
I screwed up last round. I was one shy but I I was
rolling my stat which was a + 2.The amp actually has a + 3 so I
would have technically made it but we don't have to redo it.
I can just roll again and add the plus one if that's better
I'm. Going to ask you to roll again.
(01:43:51):
Yeah. OK.
So here we go. 14 that. Does it?
You and the imp working together.
You push the pedestal of the very grumpy wizard lady holding
up a finger, shaking her like waving her finger back and forth
in an motion. And you slide it all the way
(01:44:12):
into the indent. And it slides as it melds into
the pyramid. And again, the pyramid unfolds
itself, opening up like a package, and there is a rune
inside with the glowing amber that you can freely touch.
What did we do on the last one? He just touched it.
(01:44:33):
Grabbed it. I took it.
Yeah. So I'll have my aunt have done
that and we can grab the thing as well.
So there's there's nothing to grab.
You're just you're like basically like pushing the runic
button to activate. You like to activate this
pillar. I mean, he'll push it.
(01:44:54):
He slid, he slid the VHS in and now he's going to push play.
There you go, all right, and theimage of the security wizard
solidifies at the top of that pedestal, one finger raised in
the air. And she also is just muttering
at you saying intruder, intruder, intruder.
But Neo, I think you still have all your movement and a bonus
(01:45:15):
action. OK, well I don't.
I can't get to the other one anyway, plus I don't have it.
So my M will move 30 feet or actually, sorry, 40 feet.
I'll have him move there, he's still invisible.
And then I will move back to this corner and I will, and I
(01:45:45):
will shoot a Sorcerer's Burst atthis guy.
All right, make that attack roll.
Ready. We got 18. 18 is a hit.
OK, he's going to take not greatseven.
I'll do radiant damage. Yeah, I'll go ahead and add AD 8
to that. Oh nice, it's 7 plus, so a total
(01:46:10):
of 10 and radiant one. That's all I can do.
All righty Kilbor, you have the last pedestal in your hands as
you are floating in the water. Yeah, I got to get out of this
water. All right, you and Fred.
Half your movement pulls you up over the edge and out of the
(01:46:32):
water. The golem construct there is
laying on the dead on the ground, dead and just oozing and
bubbling. So you're able to jump on Fred
and you have half of Fred's movement to freely move.
OK, well, let's go. Or you could double back and
help Tasselhoff before he sinks in the sand.
(01:46:56):
I'm not getting out of my turn here.
I didn't think so, but. You're good.
Get to the VCR. Player Yeah, yeah, I'm just
trying to pick a tile here and it looks like, OK, I know where
I'm going. Yeah, nobody's tried to a win,
but what happens on a gold tile?Probably something horrible if
(01:47:19):
the DMS pointing out the tile. I just don't understand.
Why nobody wants to try it you. Turn into gold.
I am trying to stay as far away from gold as possible.
What? Yes, please.
Why? I get it.
(01:47:41):
I'm addicted. Kill board.
You've got your action and your bonus action.
All right, so since I'm out of movement, I am definitely going
to take a shot. I'm going to go shoot past Couch
there again. Just don't roll in that one.
He said it, Couch. He said it.
(01:48:02):
Only I can do that tonight. How about a 19?
Doesn't that's a hit? Yeah, go ahead, roll.
Some have you been? You've been on fire the last few
campaigns then? I know, right?
Well, yeah, all right. How about A5 or A-77 damage?
Sorry. Seven damage.
All right, do I get another attack?
(01:48:24):
That's a Longbow. Are are you at your Level 3?
No, you're at your level 5, aren't you?
Yeah, well. Yeah, you just went ahead and
boosted Kilbor up a little bit there.
Yeah, you get 2 attacks all right.
For some reason I thought you were also at Level 3, but that
makes no sense with the stuff you've been doing.
(01:48:46):
Right, Yeah, it's definitely a little getting used to getting
past Level 3 there, but does a 10 hit. 10 does not hit. 10 does
not hit. OK.
All right. Well, I think I'm going to do
some lay on hands on myself for my last bit of my bonus action
(01:49:08):
and I'm going to go ahead and just use all 15, OK.
And so that would actually even go to Fred as well.
Yes it does because you have thelife bond.
The life he's my, he's my buddy,he's my he's my little buddy.
All righty. I think that's going to bring us
to Tasselhoff. OK I am going to use my bonus
(01:49:34):
action to dash. There's a cunning auction and
ask him for It's not a tablet. What is it?
The pedestal? Yes.
I pass it out like it's like I'mhanding him off a football.
(01:49:54):
All right, I take the football pedestal.
And I run up. To the loud.
Yeah, what is what is your movement speed?
You're a Yeah, that's 30 to the dash.
Dash movement. Yeah, 60 feet.
That gets you right up to that last put.
(01:50:16):
Sleight of hand or Arcana? And we'll do slide of.
Hand DC-12, this could be it. Well, how about a 22?
That does it nice. You slide the pedestal up just
smooth as butter. You like, you don't like slide
around and like try to like lockit in or like, you know, you
(01:50:39):
just perfectly like putting a wheel on an axle.
You just slide it straight in and you hear the giant book
monster which was charging for Neo turns and looks over her
shoulder and watches as the pyramid in front of you unfolds
and opens up. And the glowing pedestal of the
(01:51:00):
wizard woman sitting at a table with a quill in her hand, riding
on a piece of parchment. Tassel Hoff.
You remember that the pedestal that you had passed had called
it the writing desk. And here you are at the writing
pyramid, and she's riding away, and there's the glowing room
there for you to slap with your little hand.
(01:51:23):
I put my hand right on the pedestal and say let's do some
riding guys. The Beast spins on its heel
falling and crashing to the ground looks back at Neo who it
was charging after trying to stop, then looks at you having
run in the opposite direction tothe northeast and it looks back
(01:51:46):
and forth and it crawls on handsand knees as books begin to
slide off of its body, ink pouring to the floor below it
couch. You feel the confusion absolute
like just lift from you like a fog leaving you with nothing but
your rage as more and more of the books begin to slide off of
(01:52:07):
its body and the books are flying in every direction, re
shelving themselves on the bookshelves in every direction.
And as because the final security pedestal is activated,
more and more bookshelves are popping up out of the floor
occupying the space. This is actually a very crowded
second floor of a library that during the security protocol,
(01:52:32):
many of the bookshelves are slidaway and slid into a different
place on the concrete tiles because the wind can't blow over
these heavy bookshelves. But more and more bookshelves
are popping up everywhere, as well as fountains and lush
potted plants and huge, comfortable sitting chairs.
(01:52:52):
Desks everywhere with scrolls and quills and ink pots.
Everything a magic caster could dream of in this chaotic
mishmash of different directionsand different things.
And in the center of the room, the arcane pedestal that the
(01:53:14):
creature had crawled out of, theblue wizard woman reappears in
that center pedestal, much larger now and less wispy and
less corporeal. And she stands now almost as if
it was a person. There's still a blue tint to
their image, but they stand leaning on their wizarding
(01:53:37):
staff. And she says, ah, security
protocol disengaged. That is only possible by an
extremely talented wizard. We apologize for any
inconvenience that the security protocol may have caused you.
And as she is saying that couch. You watch as your fingers begin
(01:53:58):
to turn back to normal, your extra fingers sucking into your
hand. Your shadow reattaches to your
feet. Neo, the wings are gone and the
statue yelling insults on the floor down below disappears as
everything is on done by the security protocol being
completely turned off and the blue figure looks around and
(01:54:22):
says excellent. Well welcome to the Wizarding
Archive of Chaotic knowledge. I am a assistant.
I am an arcane construct here toassist you in whatever it is our
crippled Lord has tasked you to do.
How can I help you today? Thank you for apologizing.
(01:54:45):
It was very rude of you to call us intruders.
We are not criminals. But why?
Why are you here? Searching database Answer found
in Archive The Wizarding Archiveof Chaos Knowledge is a
architectural construct created by the powers of the Crippled
(01:55:05):
God himself. The the WAC Library appears in
any place designated by a cult member of the Crippled God, Any
such powerful wizard, such as yourself.
The Library appears in order to lend its aid in the arcane
activities and chaos that is being done by any wizard under
(01:55:30):
orders by the Crippled God, as you obviously know as Wizards of
the Crippled God. Yes, can we?
Can you remind me which which wizard summoned you here?
Accessing Archive. The Wizarding library was
(01:55:50):
brought to the city by the Wizard I Corps.
He was under orders by one of the Crippled Gods.
Generals I Corps never accessed the library as intended.
It is assumed that something hashappened to Icor or you
yourselves are perhaps Icor. If you would like to re enter
(01:56:16):
your name and credentials I could confirm if you are indeed
Icor the wizard. Kilbor goes up there and types
in Icor. Please place your hand on the
pedestal and state your name andprofession.
Kilbor places his hand on it andsays Icor, Wizard of the
(01:56:39):
Crippled God Kilbore. I am going to ask you to make me
a deception check and there is only one thing you could roll
that would possibly work. Oh my gosh. 20 Wow.
Unfucking believable. Epic way to end it. 5% chance it
(01:57:04):
it your your hand tingles and burns a little bit as it's like
reading your palm and it it hears you and the wizard like
cocks her head to the side and she goes.
Eichor something has happened toyour hands.
They are scaly and different than what they would normally be
but your credentials are accepted.
Eichor, this library is at your disposal.
(01:57:26):
What actions can this library conduct for you to help bring
about the ruin of this city in the name of the Crippled God?
I turn around and look at the guys and I say, you got any
suggestions here? We should tell it to destroy
itself. Yeah, self implosion or
relocation, perhaps to another dimension.
(01:57:49):
Well, that might work better. So, well, we're on the second
floor. We don't want to hurt the the
town either, right? So we got it.
If we tell it to go like a different dimension, well, what
time to get out? Or how can we terrify the
(01:58:11):
library so it's not chaos? Give me, I thought.
This is chaos. Give me a either Intelligence or
Wisdom check on that question. Your choice.
How about a 20 intelligence check 3020 this.
(01:58:32):
Complex is a incredibly old, incredibly powerful construct of
the crippled God. With that 20, you know that it
is no simple task to try. Like you've never heard of
something like this being cleansed or purified.
(01:58:55):
Typically these things have to be demolished or destroyed or
banished or relocated or those kinds of things.
Or, you know, like if it was a monster of chaos from the
Crippled God, Like sometimes like the best they can do is
like chain it to the bottom of the ocean.
You know, some of those kinds oflike nuclear options.
(01:59:17):
You you just don't. You don't get the sense that
this can be turned into a force of good, but because of Kilbor's
Nat 20, it is acting as though Kilbor is the intended wizard
who had summoned the library to this city.
(01:59:38):
Oh, you know where? We should send it.
We should send it to the river of Styx.
You know what I want to do? I want it to take us back to the
crippled God. Is that your final answer?
I mean, everybody like you can weigh in on this.
(01:59:58):
Yeah, what are you? Guys, I'm trying to, you know,
I'm trying to debate because like, Rubrusian would definitely
would want to go base the Crippled God.
I don't think Tesla would be allthat curious in it, though.
Ouch. Failed at history so he has no
idea. Yeah, I.
Don't think it's. Still have an opinion though.
(02:00:20):
You got to see him. 1st. Hand there for a second.
Yeah. It was meal would be that was
for relocation or destruction couch.
I mean, we did say we'd save thecity.
So I think whatever we do, it just has to be getting this
thing out of here or destroying it somehow.
(02:00:41):
Let's take it back to the Crippled God.
I don't think I want to be with it when it goes to the crippled
God though. Tasselhoff give me a perception
check. Oh, that's not good, and I'm not
very perceptive. Even with A10, as as you are
hearing Kilbor talk more and more about wanting to teleport
(02:01:04):
this building and himself to theCrippled God, you look around.
You do see there is a window andthe bars have lifted and the
shutters have moved away from the glass windows and there
there is a clear way out of the library.
(02:01:26):
Is there a fire escape or are wehopping 20 feet down?
You would you would be jumping from the second floor.
Worth it? Do.
You think we should bail and just I think we.
Yeah. I think we should relocate it.
Kilbour, what do you say? OK, I say.
I'm going to. Arrive.
(02:01:46):
Closer to the window. Gilmore writes a little note and
he says you're next and then he puts it on the pedestal and he
says send this back to the crippled God as he dashes out
the window and grabs a scroll sothrows it in his back.
(02:02:08):
You give the command for the library to relocate and all of
the pedestals glow red and it says Icor your initiative has
not been completed. You are returning the library to
the Crippled God against orders. You have not accomplished your
(02:02:29):
chosen task. This building will be relocating
to the Crippled God where you will be facing his wrath.
Icor, all praise the Crippled God, bestow her of all great
chaos powers. Have a nice day and it flashes
red once as everyone turns and runs for the nearest window.
It flashes twice as each of you leaping, bounding, scrambling as
(02:02:55):
fast and hard as you can for thenearest wall, door, like window,
anything that you can. You duck your head, you throw
your shoulder into it. Whether you all jump out the
same window or choose different windows to jump out of, it
doesn't matter. You all go crashing and
shattering through the window, glass spraying out all around
(02:03:18):
you as you suddenly begin falling down to the street
below. The street still cleared away
from all of the people because of the entire block around the
library being sectioned off. All of you ass over tea kettle
began falling through the air down to the street below and
(02:03:39):
with a crackle of arcane lightning and energy the library
where it sits on the city block begins to spin and crackle with
energy. And a portal dimension opens up
and the reeking Dench of chaos and the crippled God pours out
over the city and people scream and wail.
(02:04:01):
Different priests from the temples begin clawing at their
eyes. People are in a panic, pushing
and shoving and everyone trying to get away As for a brief
terrifying moment they see the gargantuan aspect of the Chained
One on the other side of this portal rift that has opened, and
(02:04:23):
you hear him shout. You can't keep getting away with
it, and the portal slams down over the library with a crashing
burst of Thunder and sound that blows away in every direction,
(02:04:46):
and a scorched earth mark is left on the ground where the
library used to stand in the middle of the city block.
Nothing but burnt scorch ground covers it as all of you fall and
land with heavy thuds on the cobblestone below.
Everybody please take 2D6 of falling damage.
(02:05:08):
Can I miss D step instead? Yeah, yeah, you can.
OK oh, it shows him 11. Yeah, you take 11 damage.
That's all opted to. Kilbor took six and let's see
(02:05:30):
what Fred took. Neo suddenly not flying anymore,
but you guys hit the ground witha heavy thump, crunch and roll
and I, I don't know Tasselhoff. Somehow, the three foot halfling
daintily lands like on his feet. You roll your ankle a little
(02:05:51):
bit, and behind you the Chaos library is nothing but a
scorched mark of ruin on the city floor, arcane wisps of
smoke slowly curling upward, andall of you can hear echoing on
the wind, the coughing sobs of the crippled God as he is foiled
(02:06:16):
once again. Nice.
And that is where we will end the Dewey decimated system.
Rooms rolling D 20s like it's nothing.
Oh, the. Counts.
Is rolling that one's like they're nothing?
What? A conclusion that is not at all
(02:06:36):
in any way what I had planned for a finish.
We're going to have to do another dice discussion soon and
bring you guys on to do some bulls and bears, high points and
low points and talk about your experience.
But it is once again, it is lateon the East Coast.
This has been a hell of a boss fight against this creature,
guys. Like the the chaos trolls, it
(02:06:59):
has a lot of, well, a lot of chaos.
Yeah, yeah. Almost a lot of dynamics.
This was a super fun one shot module that I put together.
I'm actually really excited because this library is
something that is repeatable. These things can pop up in other
(02:07:19):
places at other times, in different ways and have a
completely new set of random chaos that is available to
happen. The puzzles within it are easy
to replicate in different and new interesting ways to have to
figure out. So there's a lot of fun that can
be had with this. And I'm I'm excited about some
future one shots that we'll havethat other people can also do.
(02:07:41):
But with that, we are going to call this a wrap as it is 1:00
on the East Coast. I keep doing this to you guys
and I am sorry. Everybody go ahead and take a
moment, say goodnight, give yourplug, whatever it may be.
For this episode, we'll go in the reverse order.
We're going to go backwards. I'm going to start with Crypto
Therapist. All right, well, thanks again
(02:08:04):
for yamming mud. That was definitely entertaining
and very random, which is cool. We all had fun.
Great, great. Playing with everybody again, as
usual. Yeah.
As far as quick shout outs, check out the Shiba Spark Forest
building on Shibarium and doing all kinds of things with
treaties and music. And then you can check out what
(02:08:25):
I'm doing at desotomusic.com. You see what I'm doing over on
the Lumia box. Thank you.
Well thank you crypto therapist for being with us to conclude
this one shot and I know you areleaving for 1/4 of July holiday
this week. So wishing you safe travels and
a happy holiday Barkoshi. Say goodnight to the good
(02:08:46):
people. Goodnight, good people.
It's Barkoshi here. You know, I had a blast with the
library. Like everybody's saying, the
randomness was really fun because you just never knew what
was going to happen when you pulled those scrolls.
Either a great time or a really, really bad.
Time. But it was fun.
(02:09:07):
As for a plug liquid foundry Web3 crowdfunding suey coming soon.
Keep an eye out coming soon. As always, all links are in the
description down below. Go in in our reverse order up
the list. We've got Couch Adventures, our
master of the Nat ones. Man, I've got to start rolling
(02:09:29):
better. This was very chaotic, mentally
challenging instead of physically this time.
I was able to keep the boss busy, so I appreciate all of the
teamwork getting the pedestals where they needed to go.
Crazy, crazy man. But As for my plug Canine

My name is Mud. I am the humble dungeon master
of this chaotic mess. Saying goodnight, everybody.
Goodnight everyone. Goodnight, everybody.
(02:12:46):
Goodnight everybody. Goodnight.
Gotta run, can't stop. It's alive.
(02:13:07):
Scrolls breathe. You.
Fight or you bleed. Stealing hand and spells on
skin. Door slam shut, you're locked
within book. Dogs leak, promote and stacks in
gloves form and shifting packs. Pages slice.
The runes combust, words that twist and spells that rust.
The first floors of ages. May 2nd floor has the chained
(02:13:27):
ones. We're breath and binding logs,
right, right, right. Paper teeth and spellborn.
Not shut it down, down down before the chained one.
Where's the crown? Shut it down down.
Down. RIP the sigils from the crown
Crown. Don't look back.
(02:13:49):
Burn the light. Gotta run.
Run right now till the whole damn system shuts.
(02:14:13):
Glyphs explode like shattered glass.
The golem wakes are walking pasttowers tall with leathered
fists. Eyes of knowledge, Mouth of
mist. Hero scream.
The ink ignites squirrels, the innate in spectral light.
The core is close. One chance to strike.
Shut it down or lose the fight. Fight, fight, fight against the
thought that thinks you're weak.Shut it down down.
(02:14:33):
Down. Before.
It. Rewrites your name.
(02:14:57):
Break the gate unto the code. The golem falls like lines
implode, books explode in stormsof thought.
Every truth the gods forgot. The library shifts, the plane
distorts, it's chaos flung through shattered ports.
But in the silence, 1 mark stayed a scorched patch where it
wants to stay. The golem cracks, The stacks
fall. Oh down down, down. 1 less
(02:15:17):
breath and kill the light. Gotta run, run run back through
ink and storm and stars can't stop, won't stop now.
And the library shut it down down down down down.
Shut it down, down, down.
