We're going to have Ailes, elixirs, live music, and
(00:27):
basically all the good stuff. Plus, you'll even find me mud
down there helping at the booth with our friends at Canine.
If you want to learn more about what Canine is doing in Miami or
with liquid staking, be sure to join their socials and follow
them on X and be ready to party with the pack.
(00:55):
Hello everyone, Oh dear, I'm in the middle of my intro echo.
Hello everybody, and welcome to another exciting adventure of
DND 721. My name is Mud, I am the Dungeon
Master, and I am joined by two wonderful and one interrupting
(01:16):
adventurer on today's show. My awful, horrid interrupting
adventurer, Go ahead and introduce yourself.
My name is Lumi Yoko. Lumi meaning bright Yoko meaning
bright child. So I'm a very, very bright
child. I don't have a lot of
intelligence, but you know, we're going to have a great
time. And you know what I am good at?
(01:36):
I'm great at tanking hits as a cleric.
There we go, very nice. It's always nice to have a
healer on the team. Next up with my wonderful,
beautiful, very polite players. SF Go ahead and introduce
yourself. Hello everybody, I am SFI have
previously played Mikhail which was an Asmar cleric in the
(01:57):
previous one shot that I attended.
I believe that was the Serpentine Duke.
I'm excited to be back here. This time I am playing a
different character and I'll I'll go ahead and just start
voicing my character and introduce him.
Names Amagus, a magus spellmonger.
(02:17):
Been peddling spells longer thanmost have been alive.
Don't ask where I've learned I didn't just picked it up like a
bad habit or a cursed coin. Yep, I don't need to talk too
much. I don't think so.
These spells speak for themselves, in tongues might I
add. If you want fire.
I've got the hottest fire if youwant luck.
(02:40):
Well, I don't have much of that. And if you want something a
little safe, try the cleric downthe road.
Gold on the table, no refund andmine the worded shelf.
That that that's, that's him. Yep, that's Amagus.
And that's. Amagus, I like him.
Amagus. He's called that because, well,
he didn't really have a name growing up, so people just
(03:03):
called him Amagus and that's hisname.
And you know, some spell some people sell their swords.
He's he sells his spells by the seashore say that five times
fast. I can't, because that will just
give Yamas even more editing work to do.
There is a a wizard among us. And last but probably not least,
(03:25):
we have Mr. Heyoka joining us for the first time as well.
Heyoka, welcome to the show. Thanks guys.
You know, trying to keep it pretty chill, pretty LAX every
time I play. This time we're going to go with
a guy named Adrian Fletcher. He's a human, He's a guy.
He likes to act. He's a cool guy.
He's chill. But when you look into his eyes,
(03:47):
you can see he has seen some shit.
But I'm not going to go too deepinto him.
I can just read personality traits here.
So yeah, I don't talk about the thing that torments me.
I'd rather not burden that with other people.
And I spend my money freely. I don't want to.
I don't want to die today and have treasures go on to somebody
else tomorrow. My my bonds are a terrible guilt
(04:11):
consumes me. I hope I can find my redemption
through my actions. And there's evil within me and I
can feel it. But never, never, never ever
must be set free. I liked my enemies, know my
enemies capability before rushing into battle.
And I'll stop the spirits that haunt me or die trying.
(04:32):
I assume the worst in people. I feel no compassion for the
dead. They're the lucky ones.
I have an addiction. I have a real bad addiction.
I'm a purveyor of doom, gloom, and those who live in a world
without hope. I have other things that I
didn't write down, so you'll find out in the future.
All righty, so we have Hey Yoka playing the world's most average
(04:54):
millennial. Got it?
I can make that joke. I am a.
Millennial. Alrighty, well, three intrepid
heroes. I'm going to go ahead and read
for everybody the description for this one shot.
(05:16):
This is intended to be a one time adventure.
As we have found in the past, sometimes these go long,
sometimes they go sideways, and sometimes they go places we did
not intend. There is always the possibility
this might turn into a two shot, but the intention is to turn
this into a a single fun one shot for everybody to enjoy.
(05:40):
Today's one shot is called Of Men and Bunnies.
If it was just heterodoxy, the Empire might look the other way.
If it was just descent, the Empire might look the other way.
But when a cult begins to worship an aspect of chaos and
(06:01):
evil, the Empire answers by hiring mercenaries within the
city walls of the Emperor's divine domain.
The city guard rounded up and shut down a growing and meddling
colt, but many of their members during the raid were able to
escape, and most importantly, their leader escaped the city in
(06:22):
the night. The next morning, with three
pouches of gold and a finger aimed in the right direction, 3
arcane heroes we're tasked with setting off after the fleeing
cultists and their leader to bring them to justice, dead or
alive. And that is where we are going
(06:44):
to begin this session. It is bright in the morning.
The cultists and their leader have at least half a day or more
time ahead of you, and they we're last seen by the outer
patrols of the city guard fleeing N away from the city and
(07:10):
heading north into the mountains.
Would anybody like to give me the first roll of the game with
a history check? I know I'm not smart enough for
this one. I roll for history and I get 15.
All right, with a 15, you know that these are called the Fae
(07:31):
Mountains, which is curious because with a 15, you know that
this is the Empire's domain, andthe Empire doesn't necessarily
like the Fae Wilds or the Beast lands or the other plains of
existence beyond the mortal plane.
And for the mountains to be called the Fae Mountains, it's
(07:53):
curious because it's very unlikely there's actually any
Fae up there, but they're calledthat anyway.
How strange. I've had some walk insurance
with the fae and dozen reason tosay that they would be around
these parts. What can I observe around me?
What who, who's around me, what what is going on, where, where
(08:14):
we've been tasked? I'm very forgetful in my old age
from time to time. The three of you have a major
way N out of town. You are on one of the few main
roads that does travel N towardsthe base of the mountain.
However, the road does not go upthe mountains into the high
(08:34):
summits and peaks. The road actually wraps around,
adding several days if not a week to travel to get around
into a cleaner and safer mountain pass.
And where the three of you find yourselves now is at that
junction in the road where the outer limit of the guards who
(08:55):
patrol the city have told you that the cultists were seen
going off the road heading straight N straight to the Thay
Mountains, and that it appeared they intended to go up the
mountains and down the other side.
And you guys are on the hunt. You are on the chase.
You there cloaked 1 and lady creature.
(09:18):
How I see it, this road is not going the way we want it to and
we're going to have to cut through these mountains if we
want to make good time. We have gold on the line and I I
don't do too well in having my work scrutinized.
What say you? I say we go beat them up for
(09:38):
sure. Well, what?
What's in it for all of us? Well, they're paying us.
Roy. Roy, they're paying us.
You say that, Roy. All right, fine.
I'm into it. If it wasn't clear from the
introduction, you were paid in advance.
How much were we paid by the way?
(10:00):
I need to open up this bags. And confirm you were each paid
500 gold. Each.
Wow. That's that's.
Great. The city guard, basically the
the constable, the sheriff of the the city guard.
He expressed that if you were tobring the cult leader back, dead
(10:22):
or alive, that you would be rewarded with an additional 500
gold each. That's some SH money.
And if one of those should die, their portion of pay would be
divided among the other survivors.
Let's not say that that incentivizes us to only have one
person come back. Perhaps it does.
(10:46):
We shiftedly look at each other.OK.
Don't worry guys, I can revive you.
It's OK. Oh well, now there is no excuse
I guess. Unless you guys kill me, which
in that case that would not be very, that would not be very
nice. No it wouldn't.
(11:07):
It would be cash money, but it would not be cash money of them.
True and real. Very on his own.
Adrian looks at his palm and he murmurs to himself.
You have to have. We have to, we have to move
West. What is?
What is that? Your palm says we must move
West. What?
What are you talking about? I don't know why, but I had a
(11:30):
thought that popped into my headthat we should in fact cut
through these mountains towards the West.
Sounds like a lovely plan. All righty.
Well, if you guys are going after the cultists off the road,
we're going to start this with all three of you giving us a
(11:51):
survival check. All right, a little aside here.
This is the first time Survival has played into one of your
campaigns. I've played on MUD.
Oh boy, you're you're in for it,buddy.
Yeah, 20. I dumped the stat.
(12:11):
I got a 2. A2 OK, well, thankfully one of
you got a Nat 20, so yippee. All right.
And Adrian, what did you get? 1010 Adrian You can see some
footprints that do go off the path, but it is Lumi.
(12:32):
The Clara Ku really can see thatthere is a large group of people
that they did head into the mountains.
They cut through the bushes. Lumi you can actually see in a
few places where the bushes are literally charred and burned
where it just looks like they they didn't try to like look for
a way through or push through. They literally like burned a
(12:55):
smoldering path through the foliage and with a Nat 20 by
looking at the tracks. Jeez.
I had not planned on sharing this this early, but you can
tell that there are at least 20 cultists, 20 different unique
sets of footprints going up intothe first trial of the mountain.
(13:22):
Do the three of you continue forward, giving chase?
All right, with that, the first trek up the mountain, it's still
pretty low elevation, but the path forward becomes rockier and
rockier. There are some very narrow
spaces between foliage and rocksand brambles, and there's a lot
(13:47):
of cracked cliffs and crumbling switchbacks as you're trying to
make your way up game trails in different paths climbing the
mountain. And at one place there is a
sharply steeped and exposed switch back that you're trying
to make your way up, where decades of, you know, rain and
(14:09):
snow and erosion have left this piece of the trail washed out
and very unstable looking. It is not a just like all of us
millennials, the rocks are crumbling under foot and a lot
of it is broken down to loose gravel.
(14:30):
Taking a look at it, it's not a lethal fall, but it would set
you back on time and it probablywould hurt if you were not able
to make your way across this switch back.
That said, one element of this one shot does specifically have
(14:53):
to do with time. Looking at the switchbacks, you
can see that there's another path that looks safer, but it
wraps far out of the way before switching back, and it looks
like it's going to take you at least a half a day longer to go
that route. Or you can take the washed out
(15:14):
trail and you can attempt eitheracrobatics or athletics to
navigate across the washed out piece of switch back and make
better time. I'm so sorry, can you repeat my
options? You can sacrifice half a day to
take a safer course up the mountain, or you can attempt to
(15:38):
make your way across this washedout switch back and do a
acrobatics or athletics to make your way across.
All. Bashed out as the switch back.
You know what that's that's a nature or survival check.
Your choice. I'll do a survival check.
(15:58):
Can I do one too? Sure.
That's a. That's a 12.
Not 14. OK, with a 12 and a 14, the two
of you know the average person could probably make it across.
It's not terribly dangerous. You know what I say?
I say we take the risk because Ican just simply kill you guys.
(16:23):
Oh, we're short on time, not health.
Right. Switchbacks aren't the hardest
thing in the world. Why are we?
That's right, Cleric. Do you?
I have. To have a Do you have a guiding
hand? I can guide you.
Please guide me. I tend I I now cast guidance
(16:44):
onto Amogus here. Amagus.
Amagus all. Right.
Yes, Yes, Amagus. Amagus, would you like to go
first? Yes, I would like to Acrobat
Acrobat a Acrobat my way throughit.
All right. So let's go ahead.
(17:04):
I got a Nat 20 + 3. Nat 20, you said?
Yes, Nat 20. Nat 20 Amagus whether it was the
guidance or your own fleet footed surety you, I mean you
tell us how do you perfectly float across this washed out
switch back? Effortless.
(17:27):
A magus a a gristled older gentleman, oily in all the wrong
places, greases his hair back a little bit with his nose.
He rubs his nose a little bit, greases his lower back.
I just did that right now. It's kind of gross.
He raises his hands up in the air and he says, I have spent
(17:48):
many times in the wild and I shall show you how it's done,
you young whipper snippers. And he he vaults himself past
the washed out, the washed out switch back.
And he says one of my favorite movies is actually Switch Back
Mountain and. Fantastic Adrian, are are you
(18:10):
going to let another greasy old man talk to you like that?
I cast guidance on Adrian. Well, I I I should be some
Acrobatism as well. OK, go ahead and roll Acrobatics
and Lumi. Is it AD four that they get to
add or is it AD 6? What is guidance?
(18:31):
It's AD four. OK, one D4. +1.
Good enough, Adrian. It doesn't look nearly as
graceful as Amalgos. Floated across on his tip toes,
basically. But you, you know, jump from
spot to spot. Almost lose your balance a
couple times but you do manage to every.
(18:54):
Time. He jumps, he says yeah, yeah,
you've told me nothing. Yeah.
Yeah, you've told me nothing. Yeah.
Yeah, right. You successfully make it across.
Last but not. Least we work, no go on.
We have Zumi the Asimar. How?
How are you choosing to get across?
All right, so I, I am not the most acrobatically talented,
(19:18):
especially with my heavy armor on.
However, I will try my best and guide myself as best I can
across here. Maybe stand a little bit more on
my toes, maybe get some more of my, my calves in here.
Let's see. Let's find out.
(19:39):
All right. Yep.
Not not I would let me roll that.
That was the emphatics. Did you mean to roll athletics?
Oh, oh, yes, yes, most certainlyI can find that.
I can. I can find that.
Everybody. Gets it's one on my meta.
Board and then I roll Oh. 'Cause you got a 13.
(20:03):
Yeah, it was a 13 + 4. Yes, thank you.
Thank. Fantastic yeah, same thing the
gravel. So from the other two going
ahead of you, the trail did get just a little more treacherous
each time someone passed. However, Loomy as you and your
heavy plate armor begin huffing and like the the ground begins
(20:24):
to kind of like treadmill out from under you.
But even in your heavy plate armor, you're able to like kind
of run with it and stay on top of the trail as it's washing out
under you. You keep your feet moving.
It never catches you. You don't lose your balance and
you also make it to the safe side across the way.
(20:46):
Congratulations everybody, it couldn't possibly get worse than
this. You.
All solved my switch back puzzle.
Good job everybody. Did.
Nobody took any damage. I roll a dice.
Yay. Traveling up the mountain from
there, the the switchbacks are alittle bit easier to navigate
(21:09):
because they're less gravel and dirt and washed out like game
trails. And it's becoming more and more
like solid granite, like rock and different stones.
And there are some tight paths. There are some things that are a
little bit harder to navigate around, but you do finally
making your way through some of the ravines and through some of
(21:32):
the different passageways through up the mountain
mountain, you find yourself at adead end.
There is a sheer Cliff face in front of the three of you and
you can see in the mountainside there are some anchored pittens
that were probably left by the cultists who did also travel.
(21:56):
This way you are able to kind ofmore or less keep track of like
their their footprints and pathsand signs of their travel.
So you can see that they climbedup the mountain here, leaving
behind their anchors as they climbed.
And the three of you do have plenty of rope between the three
of you to make your own way up if you would like to.
(22:19):
However, similar to before, you're pretty sure that if you
took more time looking for a different path, you could
backtrack and try to find a safer route.
But it would probably add half aday to a full day's worth of
travel. What does pity that these pitons
are here. I have this thing called rope
(22:39):
trek. Yeah, read it for us.
Yeah. You touch a rope and one end of
it hovers upward until the rope hangs in a perpendicular to the
ground or the rope reaches a ceiling at the rope's upper end.
Invisible 3 by 5 foot portal opens to the extra dimensional
space that lasts until the spellends, and it can be reached by
(23:04):
climbing the rope and then be pulled into or dropped out of
it. You opening portals?
Yes. Yes, and then the IT says the
space can hold up to 88 medium or smaller creatures.
Attacks, spells, and other effects can't pass into or out
of the space. The creatures inside it can see
(23:27):
through the portal and anything inside the space drops out when
the spell ends. OK, so I'm I'm pulling this so
the the rope. Absolutely you can cast this and
mark a spell slot on your page. So the rope upper end, it will
float all the way up to the top of the Cliff, which does make
(23:49):
the DC for this easier because you're not having to free climb
and like anchor in as you climb upward.
The extra dimensional space is at the top of the rope and it.
So we climbed. We climbed you're.
Saying that, you're able to, like, open the extra dimensional
space, step into it and let the rope climb up and then crawl out
(24:12):
at the top, Yeah. What's the name of the spell?
Rope trick. That is one good rope trick.
It's. So cool.
Oh my God. Hold on, hold on, I'm reading
this. It's like an anti rope and peak.
Until the spell ends, the space can be reached by climbing the
rope, which can be pulled into or trapped.
(24:33):
Out. That mud stumped on the first
one. Yeah, I'm just trying to read
the language here and understandif like, you can open the
portal, all three of you can climb into the portal, and then
from there you can command the spell to like have the top of
the rope stretch up to the top of the Cliff with the three of
(24:55):
you in the portal. If I just keep the spell going,
I think that other people can dowhatever they want when they're
inside of the portal. How?
How tall is the mountain? Because he can have the rope go
up 60 feet and it's not attachedto anything.
We can just climb the rope. Yeah.
So that, that was my first thought of like how it would
(25:17):
work. Is it, it is about a 60 foot
Cliff. You're you're dead on.
And hold on. I'm going to check this spell.
Bear with me one second. I've never heard of this spell
before. A lot of that's so funny.
It was a pretty good spell. I like this one that.
Was a really cool spell. Maybe if we ever had to climb
(25:39):
any ropes, this would be perfect.
And here we are. I'm going to be honest, I
metagamed this campaign, everyone listening at home.
I met a game this campaign and Iswore that we were going to have
like a slog fest from beginning to end.
So I'm very combat oriented and I didn't pick up most of the
utilities fills that I like to pick up.
OK, this does specifically say you have to climb the rope to
(26:03):
reach the invisible portal to lead to the extra dimensional
space. Once inside, you can pull the
rope up into the space, making the entrance disappear and
preventing others from entering or exiting.
And then on exiting, there's no stated method to exit the extra
dimensional space, you just end the spell and you all pop out.
So this spell will make this task easier.
(26:25):
You can use rope chick to lift the rope up the mountain and now
all you have to do is just effectively climb up the rope to
the top. But from what I'm reading you
can't like open the portal and the rope, climb into the portal
and then tell the portal to likeelevator you up.
No, I wasn't thinking about that.
(26:47):
You have to go to the top and someone has to pull it up.
Someone has to have the pulley system.
Yeah. Whatever.
OK, so that could be done where if one of you is more athletic
than the others, one of you can go 1st and climb to the top and
then I guess with a strength check, try to pull the others
in. Me go, I'll just it is.
It is your chance. Take take off your heavy armor,
(27:11):
do a little show for us and climb up that rope.
That is, that is sinful. I will take off my armor since I
do have clothes underneath. However, I'm not doing a little
dance for you. Chivalry.
Dead. Has it been dead you?
Do a lot of dance. I haven't seen a woman in years.
(27:35):
Female. For you, both of you.
Both of you do dances before climbing my rope.
I rub a little oil off my nose, bit on my hands.
I'm ready. Who's climbing?
First, Oh dear, Oh dear, I will climb. 1st.
OK. I have taken off heavy things.
(27:58):
Yep. And now I shall do an athletics
check. You can give yourself guidance.
It's it's a canned trip you can do.
That yes, I am definitely givingmyself guidance.
Pretty much all the time. Guidance is such an OP cantrip.
It's so good. I like to riffle through her bag
while she's climbing. I Lumi, that is up to you.
(28:21):
Did you leave your bag at the bottom or are you climbing with
your back backpack on? I wasn't smart enough to think
about leaving my bag on my person or no, no, no, it would
be the other way around. I'd have it on me, right?
Because I didn't think about taking it off.
I just kind of took my armor offand put it in my bag with all
the weight stole on me. I feel like that would be more
of my character. It's your choice.
(28:42):
You either have your backpack oryou don't.
It's your call. You know what, I spiced it up,
but I always have my money pouchon me because I don't trust
other mercenaries. Isn't it funny how you can have
armor equipped and then it couldgive you disadvantage, but you
can take it off and put in your bag and still have the bag on
you and it doesn't give you disadvantage?
Yeah, I actually I read a littlethread on exactly that and the
(29:07):
argument was that it has to do less with the weight and more
with like the range of motion that you have.
Oh yeah, yeah, that's. So it's, it's a little bit of
like, but I, I can, you know, I,I can suspend my disbelief.
Lumi, what did you roll? I rolled an 18 + 2.
(29:28):
Dirty 20 You guys watch this very buff Assamar cleric just
hand over hand. She climbs up the magic rope up
to the top and easily climbs up into the portal at the top of
the Cliff. Now two options are available.
(29:51):
The two Wizards down at the bottom can choose to climb on
their own, or you can lasso yourselves to the rope and have
Lumi try to pull both of you up and into the portal.
And we not climb the rope ourselves.
You can, that's that's the firstoption.
You can do an athletics check toclimb it yourself if you want.
(30:13):
Is the second option permanent? Like if I pulled them up and it
fails, one person will be just permanently left behind until we
can find another way to get themup.
No, definitely not. If you failed your strength
check of pulling them up, they might just fall aways and slam
against the side of the Cliff, which might hurt a little bit,
but no one's going to be left behind.
(30:34):
As far as the rope from the wall.
So like if somebody climbs up the wall and then jumps to the
rope. It's the the I don't, I mean,
where did you lift the rope up? Like I assumed you lifted the
rope right next to the Cliff so that.
I assume so too, but it depends on how like if there's like an
incline or like you know what I mean?
No, it is a sheer Cliff wall. It's straight up and down.
(30:57):
Right next to it. Right next to it I would.
I would like to cast Fine Familiar while we're thinking
about the rope. I'm not going to up it.
OK, go ahead cast find familiar and be ready to describe
whatever you're familiar is while you're doing that.
Go ahead, Adrian, let's have an athletics check.
(31:18):
Athletics or. With a four Adrian, you begin to
climb up the rope and you know it's hemp rope.
It's really, it's really bristlyand your hands get sweaty really
fast and. It makes my hands itch.
Yeah, and you immediately start to lose your grip and you
(31:41):
gripping the rope slide to the ground.
Please roll me AD 6 of damage ofrope burns and falling not you
didn't make it very far up. EW.
OK, you took two points of damage.
You are back on the ground. Amagus, tell us about your
familiar. So I'll get it an hour from now
(32:04):
because it's a cat. A long casting time of one hour.
OK, well you you have to start the process.
It will be a horned owl. His name is Tecolote.
All righty. I will.
I will begin climbing the rope. OK.
They try my hand, are you? I hope that.
(32:25):
Am I still allowed to cast guidance?
You can, I'm going to grab his. Foot as he tries to climb up the
rope. I got I got a 17 + 2 on climbing
this rope. To answer your question, Lumi
guidance is a touch spell. You have to touch the person
you're giving guidance to. Thank you for letting me know.
(32:48):
If you had a familiar, you couldhave the familiar touch me.
OK, so we we have to resolve something here.
Adrian grabs hold of Amagus's foot as Amagus is climbing.
Amagus, are you going to try to pull Adrian up below you, or are
you going to try to kick him free?
I am kicking him. I'm.
Going to try to climb up. I'm going to try to climb up the
(33:10):
back of him. Can I can I roll?
Can I roll? Can I roll an unarmed strike for
the kicking like? Yeah, you, you get a, you get a
unarmed strike attempt first as he's trying to climb over you.
It says mountain rope. I.
OK, I I only got a four. OK, you miss I, I as.
(33:31):
You, I drank, kicking him in theface.
As the two of you are strugglingto climb the same stretch of
rope at the same time, I guess both of you give me strength
checks. This is this is kind of like a a
grapple check is how I'm going to play it.
OK Oh, I got a 28, bitch. Oh, my goodness.
(33:53):
All right, Yeah, I got AI. Got a 14 -, 1.
OK, Adrian with a Nat 20, what? You quickly climb onto Amagus
and I guess, like, are you trying to climb past him and
like, just get up the rope first, yeah.
(34:14):
I try to climb up the backside of him and be like.
I'll show you who climbs the rope.
And then just climb the rope first.
Well. You definitely do.
And I'm August. I'm going to keep your original
athletics check. I mean, you also got a 19.
Like you are right on Adrian's heels.
Like you are right on his ass the whole way.
(34:36):
Up the rope. Hey, what's going on down there,
guys? It's taken so.
Long. With.
That. All three of you do make it up
to the top and from the top you can very easily kind of make
your way from the rope to the top of the Cliff side and Lumi
(35:01):
you are able to hop out of the portal to the top of the Cliff
side as well. Fergus, you want to pull a rope
up for us? I'd be nice.
So yeah. I I begrudgingly pull the rope
up. OK, all right, these young
whipper nippers. So I don't want to sniper.
(35:21):
As the 2 old Wizards are grumbling and griping at each
other, I need all three of you to give me Wisdom saving throws.
11 I got a 19 + 2. I got an 11.
OK. 21. Amagus, you recognize
(35:43):
something's going on there. There is a power in the air with
a 21. It's it it again, you know that
you're in the mortal realm, but what you're feeling is very
Faye. It's it's like a a Faye kind of.
It's not an enchantment necessarily, but it's like a
(36:04):
compulsion. And Adrian and Lumi, you have
both failed with elevens. Adrian and Lumi you see just off
in the distance there is a narrow cave, and for reasons
neither of you can explain, you feel compelled to leave a little
(36:28):
offering at The Cave that is worth at least 5 gold pieces.
It can be an item, it can be 5 gold coins.
It's entirely up to you. That seems this, this, this
place. Over here we are.
You getting as good as this feeling?
Let's go over here. This feels like a good cave to
(36:49):
go to. I have a feeling deep in my bow.
Yes. Let's go.
OK. What is 5?
Like I said, it can just be 5 gold pieces or it could be I
you, you don't really have like much in your inventory for the
(37:09):
purpose of a one shot, but you could leave something you you
could leave something back therelike your dust of disappearance,
or you could make a off referring of your spell scroll.
Those things are more than 5 gold.
So like you would be like over offering, but it's up up to you
(37:32):
obviously. 5 gold changes. OK.
How How much is my left pinky worth?
You with your compulsion, you donot get the sense that flesh is
being asked for. It's it's shiny things.
It's it's things of value that are being that are that are
(37:56):
pulling to you to offer. That's my new insult.
I'm going to say you're worth less than Heyoka's left pinky.
All right, I'll, I'll drop. I don't even know what I have.
I don't even know what I got. Like I said, you have the gold,
so you you could just drop gold in your inventory.
(38:19):
You do have, you know, some daggers you've got none of your
items really add up to 5 gold. So yeah, it would just be like 5
gold pieces. And you were paid 500 when you
started this journey so. Yeah, it seems like an easy one.
I'll give them 10. Sure.
(38:39):
Should we add 500 gold to our inventory?
You don't have to, I guess in this case 495.
You can if you want, it's it's not terribly important, but
amalgus you are not competitive. To me.
Amalgus is not. Me How much did you give?
I I gave 5 gold faces. I gave 10.
(39:05):
Well, that's just quite silly ofyou.
I spend my gold responsibly. You say as we leave it on a
rock. Are you guys leaving gold here?
I just felt like a lucky case. You, you know.
Why aren't you leaving gold here, Sir?
You don't leave gold, but these Little Rock, you see any little
(39:28):
shimmer in your heart. You don't give gold in the time.
Shame on you. Shame on you.
It's. Shame on me, shame on you, you
rope, you rope curdling jumper snap.
As this. Were you, were you born, Billy?
(39:51):
Because I see you jumping along this mountainside, you goat.
And we'll see what happens. I'll be the greatest of all
time. Oh, this is Rich.
Are the three of you ready to move on?
Move. What's this fool?
(40:11):
Yeah, let's go. The Magus.
You have a choice in front of you as you're bickering with
Adrian and talking about fools and golden goats.
You can continue with them, you can leave the gold behind, or
there's nothing stopping you from going up and picking up 15
(40:33):
gold pieces left at the mouth ofa cave for no reason.
You know, I have experience in the Wilds and I know that one
should maybe not pick up things that were once left in mountains
such as these. So I don't feel very compelled
to pick up this gold. But don't keep in mind that
these fools are loose with theircash.
(40:54):
All righty. The three of you continue on a
cross a stretch of the mountain that goes flat.
The sun is starting to set on the far side to the east, and
the broken rocks of the celestial body that covers the
(41:20):
night sky is beginning to move across the sky.
I've described this in other games and in the campaign
before. The three of you would know just
from your studies as Wizards andas a cleric who has a lot of
time spent in religion and history, that there used to be
something called a moon. It doesn't exist anymore.
(41:41):
And in the night sky is just this shattered sparkling
celestial body, which is just like it's it's like a Saturn
ring that goes across half of the night sky it.
Never was a moon. There there are moon deniers who
say Luna never existed. I never was a moon and don't.
Believe the lies are here in thehead.
(42:03):
What do you call that then? I call what?
That. What are you pointing?
I can't see. Anything.
Look. Look at it.
Start. Looking at the ground, look at
the I have. Dark vision.
Just look at it. No, I just have dark vision.
His eyes are closed. You don't see anything else.
You're. Talking about.
Only with. As as they're distracted with
(42:25):
the sky, what am I seeing other than the vast expanse?
You see a winged lizard ahead ofyou.
Oh lean Lizzy, it's tiny and maybe not want to touch that
one. It's perched on a rock directly
on the path the three of you arewalking down.
(42:45):
Has has Is it safe to say it's been an hour?
Yes it has. I I would say definitely it has
been an hour. If you have your familiar you
would like to summon. Ex Excellent.
I have my my owl familiar who what did you who happens to be
better at seeing in the night than I am with these tired old
eyes of which can still see the moon, however.
(43:06):
Well, there is no moon. Well, if there was a moon, I
would be able to see it. So to metagame a little bit,
what you are able to see in the night sky is the shattered
remains of what some scholars and theologians declare used to
be the moon. Right.
(43:27):
That's the moon. It's more like a Saturn ring
now. I've asked according to.
Some floor, some old fate that Iread.
If you if you spill ale on the floor, is it still ale or do you
call it not the moon anymore? You know what I love?
(43:53):
This as a philosophical conversation.
Go ahead, Lumi. I, I, I don't know, I just call
it emotional damage. I that'd be a good answer.
That's perfectly good ale that you could have had or that
(44:14):
someone else could have had. Well, I still think you can have
it, it's just a little dirty. Dear well, dear gods.
We we now know that Lumi is a sect of clerics who does consume
ale, so that is good informationto have as you are talking about
(44:35):
moon not moon. What is it in having this?
A rich philosophical debate. Yes Amagus, your at Horned owl
familiar is present and has beensummoned.
And there is still that winged lizard ahead on the rock as you,
the three of you, are approaching it.
I would like to have my my familiar scouted out.
(45:00):
I would like it to to fly by it and see what's what is it, what
what's going on with this lizard.
This creature, do you and your familiar get to share eyesight?
Like, can you see what your familiar sees?
Oh yes. However I go blind.
OK, during that time I could also hear what it hears, but I
(45:20):
go deaf. Got it.
OK, go ahead. Give me a perception check.
Very well. Oh, I I think there's something
on this. My my owl gets advantage on
perception. If if it does, roll with
advantage. Very well since I saw the Lizard
2, can I do a perception check? Yes.
(45:43):
Do you have night vision as darkvision as it's getting darker?
I believe so. I'm going to custom roll this
because it's different than my stats.
OK. I.
Have the eyes of the night. So it will be 10 + 3 for for
this al familiar perception. OK, 13 is pretty good.
(46:07):
Lumi, you do have dark vision. What?
What is Eyes of the Night? Oh, never mind, sorry.
That's a. That's a That's a feature slash
trait that I have. Well, yeah, that's something
that you might be able to use ifyou have Eyes of the night.
I can use it for. I can only use it once per long
rest and it shares with other people.
(46:28):
It gives other people dark vision, yeah.
Yeah. You are welcome to cast that if
you want and give dark vision toyour companions.
Or you can just roll a perception check of your own.
It's up to you, you yourself. Perception check Dark.
Vision. Yeah.
OK, so just roll that. OK, perception.
(46:49):
Wait, do I use passive perception?
No, it's active. Oh.
OK, Eyes of the Night gives you dark vision up to 300 feet.
That's crazy. Yeah, it's, it's a lot.
OK. And 11:00 So Amagus and Lumi
between the two of you Amagus, you're able to see it is
(47:09):
actually not a winged lizard, orrather it is, but that's not all
it is as you get a closer look. This is a Violet colored fairy
dragon and as your owl passes overhead it bares its fangs at
(47:32):
your owl and hisses and then scutters around on the rock and
looks back at the three of you and hisses again.
All right, Wisdom, knowledge. Check everybody here who knows
about Faye Dragons Newts. Let me see is.
That history is that. What is that?
This would be either you can do history checks or nature checks
(47:55):
to recall your memory of a creature.
I'm trying to recall what that spell is that starts with AG
that someone should be casting on me right now.
Yeah, 21. I cast guidance on Amogus.
Oh, OK. Well, I think Kayoka, thanks for
the guidance. I feel guided.
Aoka, what was it that you, whatwas that number you said?
(48:16):
That was a pretty big number. What the rhymes were?
I don't know what does it rhyme.Oh, it seems like you have some
wisdom here. Yeah, OK, Adrian with a 21, you
have actually had some run insurance with these creatures
before. You know that they are from the
(48:36):
Fey wild. They do sometimes crossover into
the Mortal Realms and they oftenchoose somewhat secluded places.
They often travel in flocks where you see one Fey dragon.
There's always more around, and with a 21 and they you are
starting to very quickly realizethat what you were experiencing
(48:59):
before the compulsion to leave gold at The Cave entrance might
have had something to do with these fairy Dragons.
Hell yeah. Are they?
Are they aggro to humans or humanoids?
With a 21 you can, you do know that they are extremely fickle
and you with a 21, you know you have to do things exactly the
(49:24):
way they want you to in order for them to be appeased and as
you're sharing this with the group.
Like women? All of you can hear more little
leathery flapping wings and the hissing of fairy Dragons, and
(49:45):
you hear a voice telepathically,a shout in all three of your
heads at the same time. Oy, it's called the Faye
Mountains because the mountains belong to the the Faye Dragons.
There's a toll for passing our mountains and the three of you
failed to pay it. What's what's a toll?
(50:08):
There's There's not even a sign here.
Oh, you felt it. You felt it and you ignored it,
little wizard man. How are you going to call me
little I'm I'm 100 times all right.
All right, I'll I'll pay the toll.
I. Apologize.
Oh, it's too late for that. You had your chance back at The
Cave. That's all I got.
Why would we just take 5 gold from you and we can all just
(50:31):
take everything? 10 I left 10 San out.
Yeah, and that was like. Michael.
That was really cool of you for leaving 10, but your other buddy
here, he didn't leave 5. So all of you fail.
All of you are going to be killed.
Well, let's do that here. It's not my buddy, It's not my
buddy. Plus 5 + 5 is 15.
(50:54):
And how much gold did you get? Do I look like a base 10
creature that can count on its fingers?
It's 15. Cool number dude, you didn't
leave any gold so we're going tokill you.
Yeah, fair enough. Oh, with that, everybody roll
initiative and go ahead and launch the map on D&D Beyond.
(51:16):
88. I'm August, no, I got FII got
would I like to guidance that Oh.
Can I add my guidance to my initiative because I didn't do
that. You definitely can.
Definitely. OK, so 2 + 6 + 2, that is 10.
Not very much, but that's something.
(51:38):
Fantastic. I I rolled an initiative of
sticks. So what you are seeing is in
front of each of you. This is actually our first
sponster of the episode. This monster came from eternal
(51:58):
nights in our community. He sponsored, I want to say 12
monsters this morning and that is what you are seeing is 3 mobs
of these Fey Dragons coming at you from every direction.
(52:18):
Side of character. That's fucking awesome, right?
Might I say that's fucking sweet.
Thanks for doing that. Inside character.
Hey, what the fuck, guys? So shout out to Eternal Night
and the Shups project. Thank you for sponsoring the
sponsor. The three of you are finding
directly in front of you is a. So each on the map, there's
(52:42):
three different icons for fairy Dragons.
Each one of those three, I'm using mob rules.
There are four fairy Dragons. They are sharing hit points and
they're sharing initiative just to keep this from getting into
like a crazy slog of 12 different creatures, all with
their own initiative and everything.
So we are going by mob rules andwe.
(53:04):
Got a 10. I got a 13.
Herald 6 A woman creature. Me.
I found a creature I saw us rollin your bag earlier.
I'd like to purchase it from youlater.
Oh OK. How did did you go?
(53:24):
Like that you there? No, I OK.
You wouldn't. You wouldn't know that I rolled
deception. I get a 16.
On what? Yeah, 6 So what?
What are you trying to deceive? I I lied to her that I didn't.
I did not look in her bag earlier.
And then what? What do I roll?
(53:46):
You don't roll it, you just. You just nod like a dummy.
I I I think that's deception verse insight.
Insight. You could just believe me, you.
Believe him. Excellent.
OK. OK, believe it or not guys.
That wasn't suspicious at all onmy card.
With those awful initiative roles, believe it or not, the
(54:07):
fairy Dragons do go first. So.
That the one that's been cussingyou guys out and accusing you of
not following the rules and not paying the toll?
That clutch of fairy Dragons flies in straight out of Magus
and they are gonna do a three attacks and cast a spell.
(54:29):
It sounds like me. OK, they rolled A9A23 and A10.
Oh, OK, the 23 hits me, the other's not quite.
That is 1 piercing damage and they are going to cast they they
(54:51):
cast a spell called hallucinatory terrain.
All around you the natural terrain and a 150 foot cube look
sounds and smells like another kind of terrain.
So like open fields can look like a road, it can resemble a
swamp, hills, a crevice, other things a pond can be made.
(55:11):
The tactile characteristics are unchanged, so creatures entering
the area are likely to notice the illusion.
But you can't actually see the true ground, as all around you
the Faye Woods appear all aroundyou at your feet.
Now all of you do know just looking at the map and knowing
(55:35):
from what I described, you are traveling across some fairly
treacherous terrain and there's a lot of cliffs and a lot of
places where you could fall. The houses of Faye Woods look
like. With like a lot of Faye trees
and Faye grass. Looking it up, what's what
what's? The difference between Faye
grass and let's say a different type of indigenous grass.
(55:58):
It's darker. It's it's more Faye Faye woods.
They're they're typically much like taller, older trees.
They have like bigger, like gnarlier branches, a lot of
knots and knolls and empty holesin them for fairies and critters
to take home. And typically the oh, go ahead.
(56:19):
It's like the Black forests in Valheim.
Oh hell, this guy plays Valheim. That guy plays Valheim.
That's right. That's what's up.
Yeah, nice Valhime shout out theground.
It's not like grass, it's more like Clover.
Like if you've ever seen a lawn that's just covered in like
white Clover, that's what the ground all turns into with
(56:41):
mushrooms popping up all over the place and bright flowers
coming up out of the Clover fields.
But again, even though. This is the.
Even though this is what you see, you're not tricked.
You know you probably need to watch your step if you're moving
around, but if you do move too close to a Cliff edge, I may
(57:06):
have you do a Dexterity saving throw to not go off the edge.
May I ask a meta question? Yeah, these groups of Faye
Dragons, although they're grouped together, they do count
as individual creatures, correct?
When using mob rules and 5E theyare considered a a single
(57:27):
creature, so they all share hit points and they share initiative
and then they all attacked at the same time.
It it's a way to give you kind of like weenie creatures without
overloading the turn order with like 12 different things, with
12 different initiatives and ACS.
If for example you have something like Green Flame Blade
(57:49):
which it jumps from the first creature you attack to a second
creature, that would not work. There it would work to jump from
one mob to a second mob. Gotcha.
You would effectively if you were only attacking one group of
the four. They're treated like a single
creature. Gotcha.
OK. Thank you boss.
For any of our listeners, like if you've played Pathfinder,
(58:10):
this is a really popular mechanic with like swarms of
spiders, right? You're not fighting 100 little
spiders, you're fighting a single creature, which is a
swarm of spiders, just as an example.
OK, that is the end of the firstFaye Dragon's turn.
The next one is going to go here.
They have a fly speed of 60. So the other one here also goes
(58:35):
zipping in, all four of them moving like aerial combatants,
and they also come up on Amagus, all of them chanting, yes.
You ought to pay the gold. And Amagus, they are also going
to make a couple bite attacks onyou. 2218 and 16.
All of those hit me. You take 3 points of damage.
(58:58):
Little tiny needle things sink into your arms as you are
swatting and being swarmed by these little tiny Fay Dragons,
all of them laughing gleefully as they bite you and are just
saying some really mean things about how greasy you are and how
you you you look like the kind of person who.
(59:20):
Doesn't. Yeah, all of these things are
true. Yeah, you probably don't.
I just. Don't see why we.
Should tip are made do you? You know they they survive on
those tips, didn't you know that?
That's their job. OK, with that, one of them is
going to cast. Which one is it?
Here? Color spray?
(59:41):
Amagus, I need you to please make me a Constitution saving
throw. Color spray constitution very
well. I've got in an 8.
It is a DC. Come on.
Where is it on here? OK.
It is a spell save of 13. And you said you got an 8.
(01:00:04):
Yep. OK, A magus.
A array of flashing, strobing colors flash and bleed across
your vision and all three of you.
I apologize. I also need Adrian and Lumi to
(01:00:25):
please give me Constitution saving throws. 5. 17.
Lumi you save, Adrian you also fail, and for this round Amagus
and Adrian are blinded. That's crazy because I pull from
(01:00:46):
my hand a a dagger of blind flight.
Thank you for this session sponsor.
Yes, thank you to one of our kind token holders who did
sponsor some items for these heroes and anonymous holder
gifted each of our heroes here afew magic items to take on their
(01:01:08):
adventure with them. Does the Dagger of Blindsiding
do anything when you are blindedor is it just for blinding
others? It it is, it gives you blind
sight. Wait, it's it's.
Literally blind sight. Yes, that's why I had AI.
Had a chuckle. Blinded.
(01:01:32):
It can perceive its surroundingswithout relying on sight within
a specific radius. Amagus, you are not blinded.
Well, I am blind as I'm affectedby the blind and standard
condition. However, I can see but you're
they're good for seeing you. You can see through the colors,
(01:01:52):
it's just Adrian who is now blinded by colors.
Unless Adrian you have a counterspell or something else that you
would like to do to prevent thatspell from affecting you if you
have a reaction. You shouldn't, you really
shouldn't have provoked these guys.
A man that really got to fuckingtake your skin, I meant.
(01:02:13):
I did not feel anything. I don't.
Why do you believe these random things build for me?
I know. Just it's the fame.
Oh man, Oh God. I felt with them in the.
Past they're just they're, they're pretty bad.
You could have told me you were leaving gold for a reason.
You didn't say anything. That's funny, remotes.
(01:02:33):
It's not your turn. It's not your turn.
Oh, I thought you asked me a question.
I I did, I asked if you had a reaction like counterspell is a
reaction. If you wanted to, no.
I did. No.
OK, in that case, it is the third group of fairy Dragons.
They all rolled better initiatives than you guys.
And the last group is going to come up on Lumi and Lumi.
(01:02:57):
They're going to make some bite attacks on you and Lumi.
I need you to, I need you to tell me the truth.
I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to answer
honestly. OK.
When you were done climbing the rope and you made your gold
offering and continued down the trail, did you put your heavy
plate armor back on or is it still in your?
(01:03:20):
Inventory I did put the back on.I took them off and I was gonna
mention something like this is this is me being a completely
honest here. While I thought he was looking
through my bag of things or not through my bag of things.
But while he was doing whatever the Frick he was doing, I was up
there in the portal putting my stuff back on because I didn't
want them to see. Okay, that's, that's a fair
(01:03:44):
answer. I I just, I had to ask and make
sure so you have your full play.Mail is doodle.
They are going to make 3 byte attacks on you.
They got an 11, a three and a 22.
One hit. You take one point of piercing
damage. Ellie.
And there. We.
(01:04:06):
Go. They are going to cast polymorph
on you. No.
Lumi, I need you to please make a Wisdom saving throw DC-13 as
they try. 21. Yeah, okay, yeah, you save,
(01:04:28):
they're biting in into your armor, chipping their fangs on
your, your heavy plate mail. And one of them says, like, she
has such tough skin, wouldn't she be more interesting as a
bear? And they try to polymorph you
into a bear, but you resist the transformation and you keep your
form. And that is the end of their
(01:04:48):
turn. It is now.
You know what? A bear would be pretty cool.
You're not wrong, guys. You're not wrong, but please
don't hurt yourselves. I really feel bad that we're
fighting you with my armor's really thick.
It is Adrian's turn. OK, I'm blind.
Yeah. Yes, so you can still make melee
(01:05:11):
attacks with disadvantage and ifyou have like spell attacks they
have disadvantage. I hear them.
Yeah, you can hear them flappingand chattering.
I've I've made it clear that they're they're kind of loud.
OK, so I'm going to just cast fire bolt in the direction that
(01:05:31):
they're. They're at all right, I see.
Which group are you shooting at?I'm blind.
I, I know I I'm asking are are you aiming left or right?
Well, everyone's louder, you know, Probably the left side.
OK, go ahead and. I'm not even looking at the map.
(01:05:52):
Hold on, let me look at the map.Yeah, well, OK, so Amagus is
over here. He was playing in with them, so
he was probably louder with that.
So yeah, I'm going to go left. OK, roll fire bolt with
disadvantage because you are blind and.
I roll it twice. If you right click it, it gives
you the option to choose advantage or disadvantage.
(01:06:15):
Hell yeah, there we go. I mean, fireball is a saving a
deck saving throw. I'm.
Sorry, are you casting fireball or fire bolt?
What's that fire bolt? OK.
So, OK, that that's different, Yeah.
Bolt targets a single creature. Yeah, I.
Was I was like, Yep, Yep, fireball, Fireball in the
(01:06:35):
general vicinity, Yep. I was going to tell you to duck,
but you know I. Don't have to now.
If you roll low enough, you might hit Amagus, but go ahead
and roll that fire bolt. It's a Spanish here we go,
night, there we go. But that was disadvantage.
Apparently that was a single roll.
You only rolled the D21 time. Rolled it a second time.
(01:06:57):
OK, he rolled one higher. Damn.
The first one was 25 and then herolled a Nat 20 to get 26.
You know what? God, that hurts.
We're here to have fun, Adrian. Go ahead.
Like blinded but guided by something.
(01:07:20):
And the feeling of my heart tonight.
Amagus you're by the sight of your dagger, you see Adrian
aiming his fingers in your direction.
Fire, no rimming from his fingertips.
Amagus you duck and Adrian go ahead and roll crit damage.
I'm going to give it to you. 25.Oh damn.
(01:07:44):
Oh my God. Yeah, you last these Fey
Dragons, many of them searing, their wings burning and they
screech in the Fey language and they are still standing, but
they are very hurt. And do you want to stay where
(01:08:07):
you are or do you want to try tomove while while blinded in very
dangerous terrain? I would let me look at the map
real quick. I would like to try to do a
cartwheel to the right. Give me an acrobatics check.
(01:08:30):
Yeah, 12. You cartwheel to the right and
your foot just barely starts to slip off the edge and you catch
your balance because meets it beats it.
The DC is a 12 there. Oops, you're you're OK though.
(01:08:50):
It's crazy. With that, that brings us to
Amagus. My turn will be short and sweet
like you. Go ahead, Amagus.
I shall cast Sword Burst and I will create a momentary circle
of spectral blades that shall sweep around me.
All other creatures within 5 feet of me must succeed on a
Dexterity saving throw or take force damage.
(01:09:15):
At fifth level it is 2D6. What kind of check was it?
The Dexterity Dexterity 14. Unfortunately, Adrian is in
range. He is within 5 feet of you and
Adrian. Because you are blind, you do
automatically fail. That's OK, he did a cartwheel to
(01:09:36):
the right. He did OK, I'm going to do those
deck saves for the 2 mobs. One got a 16 + 5 for 21 and the
other got an 18 + 5 for 23. Do they take half damage?
No, it's it's save or suck. Well the fade Dragons save but
(01:09:58):
Adrian sucks. Go ahead and roll damage for
Adrian. Oh yeah, very well, it is A5.
Adrian, you take five points of damage as you are suddenly
stabbed by spectral swords. You cannot see all righty.
You guys please stop hitting each other.
My goodness. Zoomy that Adrian, did you have
(01:10:19):
anything else you want to do with your turn, anywhere you
want to move, or any bonus actions?
Oh, me. Amagus.
Amagus. I'm sorry, I meant amagus,
Amagus. Oh, no, Amagus.
That's that's all that they're going to do.
Actually, they're going to, as abonus action, use Blade Song
three times per long rest. I can use a bonus action to
(01:10:41):
start a Blade Song. It sounds a little like this.
That's the sound of metal scraping.
So for one minute I have +3 to my AC, my walking speed is
increased by 10 feet, I have advantage on Acrobatics checks,
and I gain +3 to any Con saving throw that I need to make to
(01:11:01):
maintain concentration. On a spell.
Fantastic. It ends early if I wear armor,
use two hands for one weapon, dismiss it, or if I'm
incapacitated. That was a mouthful.
Fantastic. I will ask you to keep track of
that for yourself, but that is in effect.
Yeah. All right.
That's it. That's all.
(01:11:22):
All right, that is going to bring us to you, Lumi.
You are standing in the Fay Wilds grassy terrain with a
group of fairy Dragons directly in front of you, snapping their
teeth at you. What's Lumi going to do?
OK, well I'm going to cast Twilight Sanctuary.
(01:11:47):
I present my holy symbol. A sphere of twilight will
emanate from me and it has a 30 foot radius and it is it is a
non targetable it it it can't behit.
And whenever a creature including me ends its turn into
sphere, I can grant that creature one D 6 + 6 temporary
(01:12:08):
hits, or end one charmed or frightened effect.
Oh, OK, and which spell was thisagain?
It just says channel the channeldivinity.
Oh, this is your Channel Divinity ability.
Awesome. OK, one of them.
OK, you still have your movementand a bonus action.
Is there anything else you wouldlike to do?
Perfect. I would like to use my bonus
(01:12:30):
action to cast Healing Word on Adrian Fletcher.
OK, go ahead and roll to heal. All right, 7.
OK, Adrian, you heal for seven points.
Oh yeah. OK.
And Lumi, are you going to stay where you are or are you going
(01:12:51):
to try to move anywhere? Let me see here I would like to
move. I don't mind opportunity
attacks. Let me see, I kind of want to
move closer to a magus. You will only be a hurt if you
get closer to me. That is fine.
(01:13:12):
I I must come close if I want toeither guide you or protect you.
OK, you are going to get some opportunity attacks here.
Where's my button? They only rolled A9 so that is a
miss as they snap out you and they all shout.
(01:13:33):
Where you going clerk? With that, we are back to the
top of the turn order with our mobs of fairies.
Adrian, you are no longer blind either.
At the end of your turn. The blindness did wear off from
the kind of spray. OK, first group of the Faye
(01:13:54):
Dragons still on top of a magus. They're going to make a couple
bites out of magus because he just happens to be there.
And we got a 1525 and 19. Two of those hit.
Two hit so you take two points of damage and could you please
make me. I have a, I have a, I have a
(01:14:18):
familiar. I will.
I'll remember to use it in this upcoming round.
OK, one of them is attempting tocast suggestion on you.
I need you to please make me a Wisdom saving throw.
We shall whiz it. I got an 18 -, 1.
That definitely passes. You are unsuggestible as this
(01:14:42):
group of Fay Dragons. They're like, hey, you should
really like, step off the ledge, you know, like just come walk
forward. Into the.
Fields here, I mean, look at your feet, don't you see the
nice lush? You should walk in this grass,
but you are not fooled with that.
The other group here, they are also going to take some bites
(01:15:05):
because they're right there on top of you. 1515 and 10.
None of those hit me. All miss.
Piece of cake. People are able to dodge all of
their little biting mouths, and boy, other than what they've
(01:15:26):
cast, they don't really have a ton of other useful spells.
Yeah, they're just going to bitea fourth time.
They don't. They don't have a good spell to
cast. Another chomping mouth comes at
you and rolls a 13. That's not going to do it.
You swat it away and that is theend of the second mobs turn and
(01:15:47):
the third mob is going to go straight for Adrian and Adrian,
they're going to make some bite attacks on you.
These pesky skeeters. They rolled much better this
time. 2420 and 25. Yeah, those all hit.
So Adrian, you take 3 points of damage.
(01:16:09):
Oh wait, I keep forgetting to use my Twilight.
It's at the end of their turns they they haven't taken.
Any of their turns yet. That's fair.
That's. Fair.
That's it. Yeah, three points of damage.
And then this group is going to attempt again to cast that
(01:16:30):
polymorph on you. This time, as they're saying,
he's got the, he's got a stench of death about him.
We should really just turn him into like a vulture or
something. And I need you to please make a
Wisdom saving throw as they attempt to polymorph you.
Of. 12. Yeah.
(01:16:53):
OK, you all see as this group offairy Dragons turns Adrian into
a vulture. Oh my.
What's the difference? Great.
(01:17:13):
Well, at least you can fly now. Yeah, so your stats are now
replaced with a stat block of the chosen beast.
You do retain your alignment personality.
Your hit points and hit dice allstay the same.
You get some temporary hit points based on the creature.
Sounds like a bonus A. Little bit.
(01:17:35):
Yeah. You're tanking though.
But you are a vulture and you'reyou're unable to cast spells
now. Pull up a vulture.
Step luck. I'm doing it right now.
So now good Adrian. That's so funny.
You now have a beak and the ability to make pecking attacks
(01:17:55):
with your beak. How did you send this?
It's in the discord chat. If you click the chat bubble in
the top right corner of discord, you'll see it there.
And you have more of us turn into vultures.
We have pack tactics. So we'll, we'll, we'll just
exponentially improve our strengths together, together.
Vultures are strong. One of the Faye dragon groups
(01:18:16):
shouts to the other. Make sure you turn the other one
into something else. Don't let them get pack tactics.
These Faye Dragon are kind of smart.
There you go. I put a picture in there for
you, Adrian, so you can now see that and at the next in the turn
(01:18:37):
order it. It is Adrian's turn.
Adrian the Vulture. Yeah, it's the same set.
OK, cool. All right.
That's the first time I've been a vulture.
Yeah, I want to. Can we?
Understand the Vulture? I'm going.
To say what language is the? Vulture, you make a bunch of
squawking sounds. Does my familiar understand this
(01:19:00):
vulture? Is there a bird language?
Yeah, yeah. Adrian, you and Amagus's owl now
have a They speak avian. It's like speaking Italian to a
Spaniard. Like it's it's a it's a cousin
language. You can mostly understand each
(01:19:21):
other. So yeah, gonna have a.
He's gonna have a lame as fuck. You can play your owl.
He says he says your your tame as as fudge.
I don't know what that means, but you.
But you heard him. I moved myself.
(01:19:41):
Yeah, you can fly now. So how far can I fly?
So is this? Can you see this?
Yes. Yeah, you have a fly speed of 50
feet. 50. You're faster now, yeah.
You won't fall anymore. This is only an improvement.
It really is. So how many square feet?
Each square is 5 feet. If you they're on the left of
(01:20:03):
the map, there's a little ruler button and you can use that to
like measure out distance I. Want to go here?
OK, they will get an attack on you if you if you fly away from
them. OK, that's OK.
OK, they get a 12. That's a hit.
(01:20:23):
Oh, that is a hit. OK, I think you've got something
like 5 hit points. You take one point of damage.
Huh. When you're a vulture you your
hit points. You get like temp hit points
because you got polymorph. I think you still retain your
original health. Target gains temporary hit
points equal to the beast. Yeah, are we doing?
(01:20:46):
Is is polymorph? Does it follow the same rules as
like the wild shape from druid? I I would need to compare them,
I think they have some differences.
Yeah, I'll also read it because I I've never.
I shouldn't say never, I just don't encounter polymorph as
often as I should. I play like Level 3 and below
almost all exclusively. Yeah, it's a level 4
(01:21:08):
transmutation, OK, Yeah, but Adrian, you fly away, you take
one point of damage and you're you're over there now.
Is there something else you would like to do or say?
Well, you all kept you over here.
Won't catch me over here, OK? Oh OK, so the hit points,
(01:21:31):
they're temp, If you hit over that number, that number carries
over in access to the normal form.
But if he loses all of his temper HB, he transforms back.
You should be careful not to flyover holes.
It should be careful not to fallinto those holes.
I bet you never seen a hole in your life.
(01:21:52):
OK, well, Adrian, you. Didn't have a comeback for that
one, did you? Amarcus, you're next.
Go ahead. You got 1 swarm of very hurt
Faye Dragons to your left and one very healthy looking group
of Faye Dragons to your right. What?
(01:22:12):
What would you like to do? Owl.
Thanks, I can't understand him. Stupid.
So I think we do familiar actinglike the same roughly term as
me. I like the owl to perform the
help action to help me to give me advantage on my next attack.
(01:22:33):
All right, let's go. OK so something that I can do is
with two weapon fighting I can use an attack and then this is a
feature from Bladesong. When I take the extra attack, I
can instead use a cantrip. Go ahead if that's what you want
to do. You can make your first attack
with the the the attacker or your scimitar.
(01:22:56):
You also have a scimitar of wounding I think.
That's right. So I will be attacking with my
Scimitar of wounding. Let's go against the the wounded
one already. All right, so let's go ahead and
roll this hit dice. Yep, it's going to be a 16 + 6.
Definitely hits roll some damage.
And then I have the Savage Attacker feat, which means that
(01:23:19):
I can roll my damage twice and choose whichever one.
All right, so I got A4 and A5. I'll be choosing the 5 + 3.
OK, so that's eight points of damage.
Yep, and then I don't, I don't know if I see what happens
before I do my extra tech. The extra tech has to be on the
same thing, right? Yeah, you slice into some of
(01:23:39):
these hurt Faye Dragons. They are hurt but still
standing, so you can go ahead with your cantrip on that same
group. Very well, I shall cast the
green green flame blade. I brandish my weapon and I make
a melee attack with it against one creature within 5 feet of
me. On hit the target suffers the
(01:24:02):
weapons normal effects and it can cause a green flame to leap
from that target to another one within 5 feet of it that I can
see. That second creature will take
fire damage equal to my spell casting ability modifier, and it
increases at fifth level. Yeah, it does.
Steal an extra 1. OK, all right, go ahead and make
your attack roll. Very well, I got a 17 + 6. 23
(01:24:29):
absolutely hits. Roll that damage and tell me the
damage for the first group and then tell me what you roll for
the damage for the green flame. Very well, this is going to be a
little complicated because the scimitar wounding also allows me
to Once per turn, when I hit a creature with an attack using
this magic weapon, I can wound it.
Yes, the wounding. They have to do a save and they
(01:24:54):
take damage at the end of their turn.
I think if they fail to save they take necrotic damage.
Go. Ahead and.
Roll your damage first for the for the swing on the first
creature. Sure.
So we rolled 2 and I'll choose the six.
It's going to be 6 + 3 and then an D8 for the green flame.
And does the green flame hit them and the second creature or
(01:25:16):
just the second creature? So the damage modifier at fifth
level, the weapon attack gets the D8 and then the flame jumps
and that also gets AD 8. OK.
So the first, the first one's only one, so that'll be 9 + 1
before we do the wounding. Got it, got it, got it.
(01:25:37):
And so that that was one damage then to the other group as well.
Let me read the the green flame says it's an extra D8 and the
fire damage to the second increases to 1D, plus it's
separate so I'd have to roll AD 8 again and that's plus the
spell caffeine modifier. OK, very well.
(01:25:57):
So against the next person it would be, oh I got a six 6 + 3,
so the second target would take nine, the first target would
take me 10 before, wouldn't it? Got it.
That is a good amount of damage. The group of fairy Dragons did
fail both of their con saves, sothey are wounded twice from both
(01:26:20):
swings. So at the end of their turn they
will take 2D four of wounded damage.
That's a necrotic. I can only wound once per turn.
Is that what it is? OK, yeah.
Well then they will take one point of wounding.
Very well, a little D4. Awesome turn.
(01:26:42):
OK. Are you staying put where you
are or are you moving around anywhere?
I will not be going anywhere else.
All right, that brings us to Lumi.
All right, I'm going to cast Moonbeam in the middle of the
two Fairy Dragon A and younger Dragons to where it will hit
(01:27:03):
them both because it's a 5 feet beam.
OK, got it. Now.
I, I also wanted to clarify the two that were hit by Amagus,
those were not the group that cast the polymorph.
That was the third group that's on the southern end of the map
(01:27:24):
closer to Lumi. Just to clarify for everybody,
if you're trying to shake their concentration to bring Adrian
out of his polymorph, that's thegroup to try and hit to try and
shake their concentration. Well, are.
You thinking? Adrian He.
No, he he is currently in a safespot.
(01:27:45):
How can we know that if we're under the influence of a
deception? Actually, you're right.
You don't know. You have no idea.
You you don't remember what it looked like all the way over
there. I know where I'm standing the
safe because I'm standing here. All right, well, a very
curiously named spell called Moonbeam that shoots down from
(01:28:07):
the scattered rocks of the sky. A deep point of evidence shared
by those who claim the rocks in the sky used to be the thing
known as the Moon. Although it's called Moon, it's
not believed or by everyone. Silvery beams of pale light
shine down 5 foot radius and these two mobs have to make
(01:28:30):
Constitution saving throws or take 2D10 damage.
And these guys do not have very good constitution.
They rolled A9 and A10. I think those are both fails.
All right. Yes, they are.
They failed a 15 check. Roll that damage.
I got a nine. All right, you watch Amagus as
(01:28:55):
beams of crackling moon energy shoot down all around you.
And one clutch of the fairy Dragons curl up in the air and
crumple and fall down into the valley below, dead.
And the second group screams no as they watch their Faye
(01:29:17):
brethren fall and die. And they are also hit for that
nine points of damage. How could there be moonbeams if
there's no moon? Belief.
That there is atheists 0 moon inone.
The The real Mooners are are winning the argument today and.
(01:29:39):
Then let me see here as a bonus action when you're in it, does
does dim light apply to reality or to the phase reality?
It applies to reality. OK and this is also meta
knowledge, but should I know this?
Yeah, I would say, you know, you, you, the, the
(01:29:59):
hallucination, all it does is itmake it so that you're less sure
of like what's actually at your feet.
But you know, it's a hallucination and you know that
it was actually twilight. So you're, you're not tricked.
It's just, you know, it's like being in a, you know, like a, a
fun house full of mirrors. It's like you know that there's
(01:30:20):
not 20 of you, but that's just what you see in front of you.
OK, perfect. Which in this case I want to
cast Steps of Night as my bonus action.
OK. It says when I am in dim light
or darkness, I can magically give myself flight flying speed
equal to your walking speed for one minute.
(01:30:42):
So that means that I'm. Yeah.
So even if I do fall, I will notfall.
I know that's what I said. OK, I went.
I I went. Through her character sheet with
her and I was like, you have flying twice, Yeah.
Yeah. She could have had it three
(01:31:03):
times for no reason. Zumi, you you are floating just
a little bit off the ground now flying.
Would you like to move closer toeither of the groups of Dragons,
or is there somewhere else you want to move to?
I think a magus is going to be safe for now, so I will in fact
move myself closer to Fairy Dragon's Bee over here.
(01:31:25):
Yeah, OK. So that I can get that
opportunity attack and if they decide to move.
Yeah, with the fact that you're flying, it doesn't matter what's
beneath you, you're you're flying.
So that's really cool. Yeah.
OK, back to the top of the turn.Order the group of Fey.
(01:31:49):
They're they're turning on you, Lumi.
They are angry about that Moonbeam Amagus.
You get to make a free attack onthem as they rush over to Lumi.
If you would like to use your reaction.
I would. I would actually not like to use
my reaction. I would like to save my reaction
OK. So the first group they fly up
(01:32:10):
to, Lumi, they're going to try to bite her several times.
Here they got an 18, a gnat 20, a 15 and a 22.
Anything above 20 and a crit will hit.
So you take 3 points of damage and they they look at each other
(01:32:33):
and they're like, ah, shit, Polymorph kind of screwed us.
Yeah. Why'd you cast Polymorph, man?
They're going to try to cast. I don't, I don't know.
They're just going to try to yeah, no, they all they're doing
is biting. They're they're just hacking and
biting at you. The other group is going to bite
at you 4 times. I'm sorry for killing your
(01:32:54):
brethren, but you left me no choice.
Please don't damage yourselves on my armor, I swear.
Two of them I do feel. Guilty as it is.
Two of them do in fact chip their teeth even more on your
plate armor as they're they're screeching about their damaged
teeth. Two of them do manage to bite
you. You take another two points of
damage. Are they crying?
(01:33:16):
I don't want to hurt you. That's the end of the the Fay
Dragon's turn. That's going to bring us to
Adrian. Fay Dragons understand me in
this form. I'm just, I'm just going to say
yes. They polymorphed you.
They Yeah. They have wings.
(01:33:38):
They speak wing folk. Yeah, right.
And then also it's fairy, dragon, older bee.
That's the one that's controlling me.
Yes, that's the Vulture. Yes they are.
They are that are concentrating on your polymorph.
Like no matter, no matter what. Like no matter even if I like
move move away from. It lasts for one hour as long as
(01:34:01):
they maintain their concentration.
So. That is 100 rounds of combat.
Yeah, so you, you would all three of you would have to
choose to flee or hit them hard enough to make them roll to keep
their concentration. And if they fail, they drop
their concentration and you turnhuman again.
(01:34:23):
And so there's nothing I can do over here, especially as a
vulture, so. You can fly back and start
pecking at them. Right.
I wanted them to come over here. They're pretty angry with Lumi.
Lumi just killed a bunch of themand.
So I was here. Yeah, you can fly back to
basically where you were. I'm gonna fly here.
(01:34:45):
OK. Just 50.
OK. And then can I attack?
Yeah, if you if you were a little bit closer, yeah, you can
make some, you can make your PECattack on that group.
I'd be directly in the square. Now you just gotta be like
within like 5 feet of them. In the in the I see that OK
(01:35:09):
anyways. Go ahead, you get a + 2 to hit
with your beak. Yeah, I'm gonna do a beak tack.
Let's go. OK.
We'll do it on. Here plus two do it just a
regular D20. Yeah.
Right here's my D20 roll 16 hit.16 is a hit.
(01:35:30):
Go ahead and roll damage. A on D4 all right.
Or. Max damage and they now have to
do a con saving throw to maintain their concentration and
they have to beat A10 or better.Literally rolled A5 plus one for
(01:35:54):
six. You Peck one of these Faye
Dragons that had cast polymorph on you in the eye and these Faye
Dragons look at you and. Go What the fuck?
And Adrian pops back out of the polymorph and into his human
form again, and the polymorph isover.
(01:36:17):
That's that. Amazing.
And the Faye Dragons all goes ahshit, we have to call for backup
guys. OK, so.
OK. So Adrian, you did your attack,
you moved. Do you have the bonus action
that you want to do I. Don't think so.
All right, that brings us to a magus.
(01:36:38):
OK, I would like to attack the one closest to me.
Yeah, go for it. All right.
Go ahead and roll. Well, well, hold.
Sorry, sorry. My familiar shall do the help
action and then I shall do a regular attack.
Got it. OK.
We gotta inch out every advantage we can get here.
Yes, as your owl swoops and dives at them.
(01:37:01):
That's right, I got an 11. And 11 is a miss.
No, very well. That's it.
Even as a wizard you get 2 attacks per turn so you can make
a second swing. I didn't realize that Wizards
can. That's from Blade Singer.
OK, OK. I was like, that's wild.
(01:37:24):
That's not a that's not a wizardthing, but blade singers are
cool. Go ahead with your second
attack. All right, I shall swing again
with my scimitar of wounding. It would be a 21. 21 is a hit.
Roll some damage. That's right.
That's right. All right.
And I would like to, I get to roll 2.
(01:37:44):
I will take a 5 + 3 and I would like to wound it all.
Right. Eight points of damage and it is
wounded. Now can I do an extra attack?
Now you can do your offhand attack, yes.
Very well with that I would liketo instead replace it with a
cantrip green flame blade. All right, go ahead and make.
(01:38:07):
Your. Back with your green flame
blade. It will be an 18.
Definitely hits. Roll that green flame blade
damage. It will be 2 + 3 + 2.
OK, so 7 on the the first one you swung at and then how much
to the other one that it jumps to?
(01:38:27):
Let me roll that now. 6A Cheeky 6.
Good amount of damage, excellentaction and bonus action or no
you you have not. You don't have anything else is.
There anything else you'd like to do?
No, I will not be doing anythingelse.
Okey dokey Lumi, that brings us to you.
(01:38:49):
I want to move my moonbeam usinga magic action.
It does not cost a slot correct?Just moving it.
I believe it's a concentration. It is the same spell.
OK perfect. I would like to move my moonbeam
in between the two crowds once again to where they are both
getting hit with the moonbeam all.
Right, let me roll that those con saves 11 they they both
(01:39:18):
rolled 11. They both fail.
Roll the. Damage rolling the damage got a
Nate. OK, that younger group that is
between you and Amagus looking really, really messed up, very
hurt. And the older group also looking
(01:39:42):
pretty, pretty hurt like they got, they got a bit of fight
left in them, but they are looking a lot less confident in
their ability to take you guys. And the healthier group here at
the top of the turn order, they shout to the younger one and say
keep them busy. We're going to go get help.
Lumi and Adrian, if you would like to use your reactions, you
can get some bonus attacks on this group of fairy Dragons as
(01:40:04):
they fly away. Yeah.
Go ahead and roll some attack rolls.
You got it. Which one want to use that for
just Mace attack? Yeah, that would be like with
your Mace. OK Oh wait, I didn't have to
roll the hit right? I do.
Have to roll the hit. Oh, OK.
And a 15 does it. Yeah, it did.
(01:40:25):
OK, perfect, Adrian. OK.
Damage time. So I'm gonna do fire bolts
again. It has to be a melee attack for
your reaction. I don't think I have anything
melee, so let me check here. You have unarmed strike.
I was. Gonna.
Say you should, you've got, you've got daggers, you just
don't have them equipped. You also have your quarter
(01:40:47):
staff. I'm just going to roll damage I
got. A I remember.
Back in my day 1/4 could buy youa lot of stuff all.
Right, let's do order stuff. Yep, go ahead.
Probably not enough. 7 is a missyou.
You're fumbling with your newly acquired human fingers, but Lumi
(01:41:09):
does crunch one of those Faye Dragons beneath her Mace as they
fly away, and they're shouting back at the younger ones.
Hold, hold them off, just just keep them busy.
We're going to get help as they fly away and down, dipping into
a cave in the ravine down below. And the other group, they're
(01:41:31):
just going to frantically take acouple bite attacks at Lumi, who
is killing so many of them. This is not at all how they
thought their day would go. 14914 and a 25 S Lumi.
You take one point of damage as the rest of them are all
screaming about their teeth. I told you stop.
(01:41:55):
We don't listen. Seriously guys, stop.
We'll bite what we want to bite. That's a woman thing, so you you
should be able to listen to it. We're bite.
Yeah, you're not. You didn't.
You weren't quick on that one, were you?
Their yeah, their teeth are too mangled for them to come up with
a good argument. OK, Adrian, it's your turn.
(01:42:16):
You got one group of very messedup looking fairy Dragons here
next to you and Lumi. Yeah, the one group and then the
other one, they left. They flew away saying they were
going to go get help. I know which direction.
They flew off to the southeast into a cave in the cliffs down
below. Right here do you?
(01:42:38):
Can you see the pointer? Cast Cast fireball into The
Cave. All right, all right.
There was never any option for peace.
I think I'm going to. Do a little bit of also.
With all of these attacks I was not ruling for concentration.
(01:42:59):
The the terrain has turned back to normal.
They they definitely have lost their concentration.
Wonderful. I was going to ask, is the one
that casted the one that died? The one that casted is the very
hurt one that's in the middle between you guys, but they've
taken a lot of hits and they they lost their concentration.
(01:43:19):
Yeah, the color sprayed 1 is theone that died.
Yeah, correct. I'm.
Just going to do a magic missile.
DA yeah, roll, roll that damage.Three, like 3 + 1 four.
A magic missile for each of them.
They all screeching in pain, still barely hanging on, but
they are alive. In fact, after you shoot them
(01:43:42):
with the magic missiles, this little mob of Fade Dragons he
gets, they go. You know what, You know what,
you guys can go, it's, it's fine.
It's fine. You know what, 5 + 5 + 5, that's
15. You're right, You're right.
Like you guys can go. You, you should just, you know,
you're, you're chasing after those cultists, right?
You just go off to the east here.
(01:44:03):
It's just just, you know, watch your step off to the east.
You know math now. Huh.
Yeah, yeah, definitely. All right.
I mean, all right. If you leave us alone, we'll I'm
good. Lumi, you can definitely do an
insight. Title The 2518 + 7.
They are saying anything to makeyou guys stop hurting them.
(01:44:26):
But is that the truth? It's true to them.
So I'm. Doesn't matter if it's true or
not, because we're not going to tell us the truths.
We're heartless, right? Even if we kill them now,
they're not going to. No.
You guys don't have to kill us. You can just go like just move
off to the to the east side of the map.
Just, you know, watch your step and, you know, make your way
(01:44:47):
across. Let's say Dragon, You started
this on yourself, man. Look, man, I'm Buzz.
We're sorry, OK. Like we just like.
Shiny things. I like dead.
Creatures in my fucking sight soI can reanimate them, you
motherfucker. I'm going to kill you right here
and right in that sounds. Evil.
Stop it. No, we we don't reanimate
(01:45:12):
corpses. We.
Figured we figured it out. We we found out.
At least ones that want mercy. We.
We. Yeah, Mercy.
They're begging for mercy. Listen to the cleric Mercy.
I knew it. You're.
Fucking my friends. Adrian, you still have your
movement if you want to move on the map.
(01:45:33):
I'll come to this one right here.
OK, so you're, you're you're crowding in around the dragon,
not not moving away. No.
OK, they're like, come on, listen to you.
Listen to the girl. Mercy empty.
Your pockets. Empty your pockets.
We ain't got pockets. We're Dragons, Amagus.
(01:45:56):
It's your turn. It's your turn, Amagus.
And empty your stomach pouches. You're like Kangaroos, aren't
you? Yeah, they they all start like
vomiting and horking up whateverthey can.
Oh, that's terrible. I didn't want that.
That's just quite unplugged and I didn't want this.
Yeah. One of them like very messily
(01:46:17):
pukes on you and they're like, there.
Is that what you want? Oh, what do I find in their
vomit? Their bile.
Beetles, worms, some remains of some old rats.
What a treasure this is. I hope someone has
prestigitation. They said we can leave so I'm
going to just start making my way towards the.
(01:46:37):
East. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Go that way. I'm, I'm making my way towards
the east too. I I really don't want to fight
these guys. OK, go.
Ahead. Yeah, I'm going to make my.
Yeah, I make my way to the to the.
East to the east. You have 40 feet of movement
speed. That's right.
Yeah, because my walking speed'snow 40.
Yeah. That's right.
(01:46:59):
Yep, I'm I, Yep, I walked 40, 40feet and I'm going to have my
familiar scout ahead a little bit.
Actually, I'm going to have my familiar scout closer to that
cave that you told us about. OK, so you're you're moving 40
feet across here. There is a chasm directly in
front of you. It's an easy jump, but you do
(01:47:21):
have to jump across and your owlthat goes down looking at that
other group. Your eyes cloud over as you look
through the eyes of your horned owl, and you can hear.
Your owl can hear. No.
Give me a perception check for your.
(01:47:42):
Owl that's right through the owlall right, so I got to do a
custom 1 here, so it's going to be this number +3.
It's a six only. Oh wait, it it has advantage on
things. Yep, Yep, it has advantage on
it. Roll again.
A natural one. I would like to take the three.
OK, your your owl is like, yeah, they're they're all hiding in
(01:48:08):
The Cave. OK.
OK. Yeah, thanks.
And then you said I have to maneuver through the landscape.
Yeah, on your next turn, you would be able to make a jump
across the narrow part of the chasm directly east of You I'll.
Keep that in mind. All right, Thank you.
That's all for my turn. Lumi, it is your turn.
You're you're still back there next to Adrian and there's a
group of Faye Dragons going. Have mercy on our teeth.
(01:48:31):
Our teeth. We broke all our teeth and then
we poked on them for you. I look at them with a very
pitiful expression and I'm like,I never wanted to fight you guys
in the 1st place. I told you to stop, you all
should. I'm going to walk.
Away. You all should have left gold.
I left gold. That was.
(01:48:53):
About to leave one of my chainmail pieces for.
You. It's the other guy's fault.
And whose fault is it that you went?
You, you just didn't accept it in the first place?
I'm going to walk away. We can't.
Betray our Gator. Yeah.
OK. And you.
And as I'm walking away, I feel so bad for them that I just give
(01:49:16):
them a healing word. OK, roll, roll the heel.
I feel so bad for them. I just give them a a nice little
heel. I gave them a 10/10 HP points
you. Heal them for 10 and they flap
their wings, a little more vigorand they go, yeah, baby, we're
back in the fight. Lumi, you are flying, so you
(01:49:42):
don't have to jump across the chasm here.
Basically, you guys are just trying to get to the east side
of the map here to move on. And Lumi, if your turn is over,
Amagus, your owl suddenly is swarmed as hundreds of these
tiny Faye Dragons begin spewing out of the caves to the north of
(01:50:05):
you. To the South of you, hundreds of
them are coming out of the cavesand soaring upward into the
twilight sky. It looks like a haze of clouds
above you with all of these angry fairy Dragons going.
Yeah. Yeah, those are the guys.
And all of you get the sense that you have won this fight,
(01:50:29):
but it is probably in your best interest at this point to run.
What if, hypothetically, a series of fireballs a decimated
20 feet radius? I'm just kidding.
That's that. That's your choice.
On your turn. The the group that was just
(01:50:52):
healed, they all say, hey, we'rein the fight again.
Yeah, let's fuck up this guy, the one that turned into a
vulture, and they start biting at Adrian again.
I forgot. To move the moonbeam from where
they're located. Does that hit them at the start
of their turn or the end of their turn?
I think it's if they end their turn.
(01:51:13):
If they enter the moonbeam, or if they end their turn in it,
they get hurt. OK.
Thank you. Yeah, that's what I thought.
So they are still in it. They all begin to bite.
Adrian. Adrian.
They rolled A16A16A16 and an 11.That was all hit.
Adrian. Takes.
Four points of damage as they all start biting and nipping at
(01:51:36):
you and they shout out to the swarm above head, hey, this one
doesn't have any metal shit on them.
Everybody should bite this one. I thought the most gold and
you're still trying to attack me?
I fucking hate you guys. We hate you.
Too top of the turn order It is or?
I'm sorry. No it's not the top of the turn
order. They have come out of the caves
(01:51:57):
on their mass layer action. Adrian, it is your turn.
Oh yay, let's do How big are these guys?
They are tiny. They're.
Tiny. They are tiny.
How much do they weigh? I I don't know what what, what
(01:52:18):
are you trying to do? I just want to know how much do
they weigh? I know why.
Because I have a thing called catapult.
You cannot catapult a living creature.
But you know what? Fuck it.
Yeah, you you can catapult thesethings.
You could start catapulting themlike into the ground or into the
(01:52:42):
sky like into their other Fay Dragons.
I was going to say I don't thinkthese fake Dragons are living
creatures for the way. They do it now.
Catapult, literally by the language of the spell, it is an
object, and an object cannot be a living being.
But you guys are in like run andrun and hide mode.
(01:53:03):
We're just having some fun here. You can start catapulting fairy
Dragons if you want. I will use that.
OK, go ahead. And then throw these guys into
the into another group of them, I guess, OK, two groups into
each other. Roll some damage. 7.
OK, they are flung away from youas you cast Catapult and they
(01:53:27):
go. No.
As they shoot into the sky, colliding with another group,
all of these swarms are circlingoverhead, getting ready to start
dive bombing at you guys again. For the purpose of this
encounter, you just have to makeyour way to the east side of the
map to escape. So, Adrian, you still have all
of your movement. What would you like to?
Do I'd like to move? I move myself at 30 feet.
(01:53:51):
Yep. Here.
OK, Any bonus action? I don't think I have any
honestly. All right, I really don't.
Amagus, what are you doing? I would like to jump over this
chasm or the thing that's in front of me that you told me I
got to jump over. Unless you got another way of
like, you know, I don't know, pulling flight out of your ass
(01:54:12):
like Lumi did. But yeah, it's ADC 8 jump.
Check Acrobatics. All right, I would like, I would
like my bird to help me. OK, go ahead.
All right, cool. I don't need it.
I got a 21. All right, you easily hop over
(01:54:34):
and you've got 40 feet of movement still available to you.
I would like to make my way towards where I need to go,
towards the east. Yeah, with your combined
movement you are able to run up along the crags and along the
Cliff faces to the east side of the map unless you have any
(01:54:54):
action or bonus action you wouldlike to cast.
Note Let's make like a fairy Dragon's father and leave for
milk. That's not very accurate.
Go ahead Lumi, it is your turn. OK, first I would like to move
my moonbeam. I believe it's 60 feet, correct?
Yeah. I would like to move my moonbeam
(01:55:17):
60 feet to where the younger Faye Dragons are and it is
within 5 feet so they still get hit OK whenever you do move 60
feet. So now you are trying to kill
him again. Like, hey, no, we don't, you
little. Mother frickers, you still hurt
(01:55:37):
my companions. Oh yeah.
Go ahead. And then I just rolled over to
Amalgam. Roll damage for them.
Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Your fly speed is something. Like 55.
They literally have 14 hit points left.
They are on death's door as they're like, we really should
(01:55:59):
have just let them go. That brings us to the top of the
turn order. You guys are on the edge of the
map ready to leave, except for Adrian who is making his way as
best he can. I need everybody to please make
me Dexterity saving throws as Faye Dragons begin dive bombing
(01:56:20):
from the sky, biting at all of you. 7.
I wrote a 14. 14 is a save, 7 isa fail.
Fade all my saves. Amagus, do you have a deck save
for us? 18. 18 is a save, so only
Adrian. Adrian's going to take AD 4 of
(01:56:42):
damage as these things are dive bombing at you.
You take two points of piercing damage.
OK. OK so far.
That's your turn, Adrian. You're you have to join your
companions on the east East End of the map.
So can I move and then do an action for my?
(01:57:07):
I can move and then do an actionfor my.
Definitely. Even if my action is movement.
I. Wanna move?
So you have three things or 4 things you can do.
So you have your action, bonus action, reaction and your
movement. OK, I'm gonna run this by you.
You tell me if it's OK. OK. 510152025 I'm going to stay
(01:57:32):
here. This is a cavern, right I go.
There there is a you can, but itis a dexterity safe to keep your
balance across that very, very narrow space.
Or you can do that DC-8 acrobatics to try and jump
across. Here.
That would be an acrobatics check to jump across.
(01:57:55):
Which which one am I jumping across?
You can jump across to the northeast, or you can do a
Dexterity save to keep your balance across the landing to
the southeast. So my question for you is that
if I really wanted to, could I misty step somewhere?
Absolutely. That would be your action.
(01:58:15):
Or is Misty Step might even be abonus action?
Is it? The spell, so no.
Some spells are to bonus actions.
I don't know then. It is a bonus action, the Misty
Step. Well then, can I fucking shoot
some fire bolts at the Dragons? Yes you can.
Oh. Yeah, bitch, where are they at?
(01:58:38):
They're dead N across from you. Go ahead and do some fire bolt
attacks and then you can misty step up to 30 feet.
Yeah, I'll just do it northeast.OK, so let's do the fire bolt.
Boom. 18 to hit. That hits real damage.
They have four hit points left. Well, I hit them for 17.
(01:59:00):
They're they, they, they fall tothe ground saying how could this
have possibly happened as they burn up, falling to the ground
and cinders. What do I?
Trust back through here. I'm picking my gold up at the
engines of that cave, all of you, and fuck all of you in
(01:59:21):
front of Future Forever. With that, I'm not going to make
you guys go another round. The three of you are able to run
swatting at dive bombing fairy Dragons.
You're able to duck and deflect and shoot spells and swing your
Mace and everything else. You know, you effectively run
(01:59:41):
away to the east getting away from them and have made it
through the Fay part of the Fay Mountains.
With that, we have been going for 2 1/2 hours if you guys
would like before we move on to the next stretch of this
(02:00:04):
adventure, we can take a quick 5or 10 minute break.
Go refill your water, hit the bathroom if you need to.
Does everybody want to take a quick break?
Yes, I must. I must get some more water.
All righty. Let's give it 5 minutes and we
will be back here at 6:30 Pacific, 8:30 Central.
(02:00:25):
Now would be a great time for everyone listening at home.

So we're at three cents here. This is slave labor.
Please call anyone who's in charge of this.
They hope so. Leave.
Ladders out, it's an OSHA violation.
Thank you and enjoy. I would like to say a couple
(02:01:06):
words and say thank you to D&D 7/21 for having me on here.
It can be a little bit of a chaotic person, so I feel like
that's a good fit for AD and D podcast.
I think you've been lovely. You're coming.
I think we're having fun here, all right.
We like to have fun. I will see you all in 3 minutes.
I'm going to go refill my water because I have done a lot of
(02:01:28):
talking. Welcome back everybody.
With that, the three of you havesuccessfully survived the the
Faye Dragon's puzzle of My Faye Dragon Mountain, and you are
making your way to the peak of the mountain.
(02:01:51):
You are nearing the top. Could all three of you please
give me another survival check? Yes, this time I got a sad and.
17. 17 for Adrian. It's a three I might as well not
have broken. Yep.
So between the three of you, Lumi, you know, you're maybe
(02:02:14):
like you're busy like checking all the bite marks, all the
puncture wounds that you guys have, all the scuff marks on
your armor in August. You're you're very wrapped up in
the fact that, you know, someoneprobably needs to hear that
there are in fact Faye Dragons in the Faye mountains somewhere
here in the Empire. And during all of this, What's
(02:02:36):
that? What are they even doing here?
Yeah, right. Adrian you after a little bit of
scouting around in the final dying light you do see the trail
of the cultists that you are chasing up the mountain and as
you are reaching the pinnacle ithas actually begun to lightly
(02:02:59):
snow. You are high enough in altitude
as you continue to make your wayup these trails that it is now
snowing and getting colder and colder as you are reaching the
top of the mountain. You all have a choice that you
can make. Adrian, looking at the tracks,
you know for certain the cultists have not stopped and
(02:03:25):
based on their pace and the signs that you can see of the
group you're chasing, you are the the tracks are fresher, you
are catching up but they are notshowing any signs of slowing
down. So the three of you have a
choice to make as you reach the the pinnacle top of the mountain
(02:03:49):
range. Here you can choose to take a
long rest, but you will fall farther behind.
Or you can push on through the night and all of you will only
take one I. I will have each of you roll
constitution to see if you suffer one point of exhaustion.
(02:04:13):
Like we should rest or? I say we trek on.
Should. Can we do a short rest?
You could do a short rest, yes, but Lumi the the tiebreaker
comes to you. Should the group take a long
rest, fall further behind, and sleep for the night?
(02:04:35):
Or should you risk it with a constitution?
Save and try to push through theexhaustion to keep catching up
to them. That's you want to arm wrestle
for it. I hope you're pushing on.
Agus. All right, that's that's 2 to
one to push on. I want to, I want to arm wrestle
(02:04:57):
this man. Yeah.
I mean, you guys can arm wrestle.
There's only good, I'm only arm wrestling that there's sticks.
I say 10 gold and a picture of your mother.
So we deal and I say we take a long rest here.
And I say we take a a no rest here.
(02:05:20):
How do you already get pictures of my mother?
They're available in town. Your mom is the focus of all the
local sketch artists. I mean it, it's up to you guys
if you want to. It's it's 2:00 to 1:00 to keep
moving on and ignore the long rest or I, I would.
(02:05:44):
I would really rather not split the group for my sake, right?
I'm not splitting, I was just trying to get them to stay but.
It's a contested strength. Check Strength.
Strength to strength, heads up. All right, let's go.
I got a 2. 12 You slam Amagus's hand into the into the rock, and
(02:06:12):
you win. I.
I give him 10 gold and a small sketch portrait I have of my
mother. I I RIP it because because it
has my dad and me on it. So I RIP, I RIP us off of it.
That's so awful. And then and then I say, all
right, we can rest, but can we make it a little shorter than
(02:06:35):
normal? Yes, your short rest.
You all three can take a short rest.
This is great. During your.
Short rest can I use Hut? Man of your word, I just like
that. You you have Leomin's Tiny Hut,
you can definitely cast that. And that's something that I
inherently know, but it still extends a spell slot, right?
(02:06:56):
It does use a spell slot I believe.
I will choose a camo 10 foot by 10 foot tent.
OK, tent pops up and you're all able to head into it, protected
by Leomin's Tiny Hut. All of you can roll your hit
(02:07:18):
dice if you would like to try toregain any hit points.
If you have any special abilities that let you regain
spell slots on a short rest, youcan do that.
Now, I don't know if that's something anybody has, I just
know that there are some classesand subclasses that do that
shit. Me.
I do, ha. Ha.
(02:07:38):
Ha, and also I need all three ofyou to please roll me
Constitution saving throws DC-10to avoid exhaustion.
What is it? I rolled A5, did I roll the
wrong guys? I know you rolled a con save,
that was correct. I got a. 6.
(02:07:59):
Hold on that 20. Adrian, do you feel great, like
you're better? Yeah, Unfortunately though Lumi
and Amogous with A5 and A6, you both are suffering from one
point of exhaustion. That does mean until you take a
long rest to cure the exhaustion, you do have
(02:08:21):
disadvantage on ability checks. Oh no, not saves, not a tax,
just ability checks. Okie, Dokie.
I like how the one guy that wanted to take a long rest is
feeling well rested. Yeah, doesn't need it.
Well, when you press me. This guy is starting to make a
(02:08:42):
good point. When you press me.
I don't know. There you go.
That's it. With that, from inside layman's
tiny Hut, from the inside looking out the three of you,
please give me perception checks.
I'm only not one. And a 16.
(02:09:04):
Can I? Can I do it?
Can I do it with my owl? You can.
How do you do it normal? I don't know if your exhaustion
applies to your owl, so yeah I would say do it flat.
Oops, that's the wrong one. I got a 12.
OK, Lumi, like your eyes are just really itchy, like you're
(02:09:27):
tired. You've been casting spells and
healing. You're you're, I don't know,
maybe you're a little upset about how everything went with
the Fay Dragons. Amagus 12 with a 12 Amagus you
see something moving out in the woods.
Could be an animal, could be anything but Amagus.
You see a lone robed person standing in the bushes and with
(02:09:54):
a 17 you get the sense that theywatched the three of you enter
the tiny Hut and he casts a can trip at the tiny Hut and it
just. Ting.
Like bounces off of it, doing nothing, and the cultist throws
his hands in the air, looks around, and then ducks down out
of sight into the bushes again. He threw his hands up in the air
(02:10:16):
like he was like ah. Fuck this.
Exactly like that, in fact, withthe 17.
You could. You could read his lips in the
dark as he goes this fucking hush.
Yeah, whatever. Yeah, I I was just saying you,
you see it. You, you know.
My new role My new role is now at 17.
Artificially enhanced. Adrian and Amagus somehow you
(02:10:40):
you both see this happen. I won't look.
For if you inspire both that bitch ass.
Mother fucked up. OK.
If you would like to exit the Hut and try to go find them, you
can do a investigation Chuck. Is it?
It is the middle of the night. Yeah, well, I want to wait till
you know somebody else go actually, you know.
(02:11:01):
The whole, the whole point was you guys are taking a like 10
minute short rest and pushing through the night.
Out loud, stupid alarm. I want to cast guidance over
myself. Is that OK?
Just before we start the battle.I'd like cast mage armor on
myself. OK, Mage Armor.
(02:11:21):
And then I also want to use another cantrip light.
OK, are you casting it outside the Hut?
Yes, if we can see it, can we dothat because it is transparent?
Yeah, yeah. It's you can see from the inside
out. So yeah, go ahead.
I'd like to cast light at the direction of where they were.
Yeah. And then?
We we just have that radius. As your spell takes effect and
(02:11:43):
the the light shines out, you see a very surprised looking
cultist suddenly standing in thelight, looks around and he drops
back behind a boulder, out of sight again, but you got a
pretty good idea of where he's at.
OK, perfect. I'm I'm going to leave the Hut
and start making my way towards that guy.
(02:12:05):
OK. Does anybody go with him?
And then? No.
Also, I'm going to cast another spell just in case I'm casting
fairy fire for A1 cost slot. OK.
And you're trying to cast it on him.
I believe you have to be able tosee him.
So hold on to that for a second.Oh never mind, I can't even cast
(02:12:25):
it because I have concentration anyways.
I'm sorry, I just thought. Yep.
Good, Good point. Good point.
OK, you guys. Oh, you.
Can you would? Rap concentration.
Because I think the light spell is concentration, isn't it?
Yeah, but you can. But I have guidance to pass it
on myself. Yeah, I'm saying that you can
always cast another concentration spell, you'll just
(02:12:47):
drop concentration on the other one.
Yeah. Well, yeah, I'm just saying that
I want guidance on me instead ofpurifier.
I got you. I got you guys.
So you still have your concentration on guidance.
You make your way out it, it's not super hard.
You guys circle around the boulder where this cultist was
(02:13:10):
hiding, and you pop out on either side and he looks at the
three of you and he goes, ah shit, how'd they find me?
Alright, get them pantsome. You.
You were just you. Were there.
What, what do you guys do? You're you're, you're pantsing
him. I'm handsome.
(02:13:32):
As he's getting pants, I'm goingto bonk him on the head.
Let's handle the pantsing first.Give me a strength check as you
grapple him. Oh, 11.
OK, he rolls. He rolled an 8.
He's like trying to slap you away.
And he's like, hey. Stop what I'm.
(02:13:52):
I'm wearing robes and you. Pull his.
Robes up over his head and he heis effectively pantsed.
We take rocks, a little guy fucking get the fuck out of
here. And Lumi, you're you're wanting
to smack him with your Mace. Yeah, just comedically on the
head. Roll roll attack with advantage.
(02:14:15):
Comedically on the head. Comedically on the head.
Bonk crit I crit. Roll crit damage.
As I roll crit damage here, I didn't loudly announce bunk.
On the Doom. Bunk comically.
(02:14:38):
Hold on, I have to check this because these guys are weenies.
They have nine hit points. You are doing non lethal damage.
You have effectively knocked himout.
You hit him across the head witha crit.
You know, it's the fun kind of knocked out, right?
(02:15:00):
Like he's just hit on the head and he just goes to sleep.
Yeah, yeah, it's OK. He he won't have any permanent
brain damage. It's it's OK.
Yeah. He just walked up to this guy,
asked him, and then knocked him out.
That is what you guys did? Yep.
What a terrible Tuesday for thisindividual.
You guys can try to revive him to one hit point or you can
(02:15:23):
check his pockets. What what would you guys like to
do? Raid his pants pockets.
OK, let me give me a investigation check as you're
rummaging through his stuff. This clary's alignment is all
over the place it. Really is with an 18 you find a
a few copper pieces, you find a ball of lint, and you also find
(02:15:46):
a pamphlet in his pocket. And in the pamphlet, it is very
similar writings and language tothe kinds of things that this
cult was distributing in the city where this cult was trying
to establish itself. And on it, it was saying things
(02:16:07):
like, are you tired of, you know, the empire's tyrannical
rule? Are you sick of being told what
you're allowed to do or not do? Do you feel bias towards you or
do you feel unsafe in the empirejust because of the kind of
(02:16:29):
species you were born as? Join the Sigran cult.
Sigran is our Lord and leader and will deliver all of us from
the empire. It is very it.
It's written in a very flowery language and the three of you
(02:16:51):
are smart enough to know this isstraight up propaganda that the
cult was using and this was partof why they were eventually
tracked down and shut down by the Empire city guards.
Let's see. There's nothing.
Else. Interesting in his pockets.
(02:17:15):
You said, you said, see. Grand.
Yes, they are saying. I will spear the dying on.
Him Ayn Rand's long lost brotherC grand of of no relation I
have. Wait, I'm sorry, say that again.
I said Ayn Rand's long lost brother C Grand, of which I have
(02:17:38):
no relation. Got it.
It is, SIGRANI put it. Oh, whoops, that was the main
telegram. I'm going to drop it here.
Check it out. You guys.
Do we know anything about the Seagram?
Give me some either history or religion checks.
(02:17:58):
All three of you can do one all.Right, I got a 2115 plus. 16
Nice. She got a 21, I got a 16.
What did Adrian get? 24. 24 good roles you guys, all
three of you having spent some time in the city, this is a very
(02:18:21):
new group of dissenters and fanatic like worshippers of this
Sigrin character. It's a little hard to say what
all is involved because all you have seen or heard is similar
propaganda to this stuff. But what the cultists typically
(02:18:49):
seem to be talking about is thatthey don't like the rule of the
empire. They don't like the tyrannical
taxes and yoke of the emperor. And they have started a cult
where Sigran is their leader. And they often refer to Sigran
(02:19:12):
as their Lord, as their leader, and some refer to Sigran as the
one that will deliver them from the empire.
I see do. They call themselves Otis.
They call. Themselves.
Yeah, yeah. On a fire, it says.
Have you heard the good word of Sigran?
(02:19:34):
Join followers of Sigran. Well, I feel like they really
could have gotten more creative with that.
The the the cultist on the ground murmurs.
We were in a rush. Who's paying?
Who's paying the bills here? Who?
Who? Who gave us money?
It seems like the people that don't like these people.
(02:19:54):
So yeah, this doesn't change my mind at all.
Yeah, it was the city guard who hired you all to track these
guys down. Yeah, this doesn't change my
opinion at all. This, you know, I, I've seen
these guys around. They they hand out these little
comic books and they're like, they're like, yeah, he's the
Sigran. Have you ever done this?
(02:20:15):
And then, yeah, you've seen them.
You've seen them around. Well, this isn't the guy we're
looking for, no. This is not Sigran himself.
This is one of his followers, one of the group that all of you
have been tracking and chasing. Should we do something?
Should we do something dirty to him?
(02:20:35):
I am going to need you to be more specific.
What are you? Are you talking about like like
put mud on him or like? Oh like like, should we kill
him? That was that was a big jump.
Yeah, the the cultists are wanted.
We're going to dead or alive. And or alive.
I know. What if?
What if we hypothetically interrogated this individual
(02:20:57):
before we sent him to the afterworld?
Now come on, why would you want to do that?
So we can kill more. I.
Why don't you just touch him when I bring him?
Back. Oh yeah, OK, let let's kill him.
OK, that's great. I'm glad we've come to this
(02:21:17):
similar agreement. Who Who kills the cultist?
I do. How?
Odd. I take my dagger.
OK. He's, he's already knocked out,
right? Yeah, he's, he's out cold.
I'm just going to take the dagger and do it real easy
chicken style. You know, like let the blood out
easy. OK, he dies.
(02:21:38):
Oh yeah. What would you like to do now?
Well, I don't have to bring themback, really.
Because. Just in case anyone comes close.
OK. That's that's a good.
Listen, listen, listen, do. OK, here's the thing.
I have a couple questions. Why did you ask these questions?
Before you gilded him. Because I have the questions.
(02:22:03):
Go ahead, but you need answered.Right, I only need a little bit
of answers. I'm trying to figure out where I
put these. You have the spell Speak with
Dead. It is a third level spell.
But he, he, so he has to be dead, right?
So he is dead. I can speak with him now that
(02:22:24):
he's dead. Correct.
So if I animate the dead, can I still speak with them?
Animated dead. If it's a corpse, it becomes a
zombie, and zombies are incapable of speech.
Just saying. Yep.
So I, I just dealt with this recently in the main campaign.
You can you speak with dead on acorpse and they will become
(02:22:46):
aware and they will speak kind of in like vague or kind of
like, you know, you know, topsy turvy, kind of like tricksy kind
of ways. Or they'll be vague or they'll
kind of like talk in riddles. Or you can take a dead corpse
and you can animate dead. And if it's a pile of bones,
they turn into a skeleton. If it's a corpse, it turns into
(02:23:07):
a zombie. But those things are incapable
of speech. Right they.
Listen. To them.
I'm sorry, say that again. Animate's Dead.
I'm just reading here says that you're the creature is under
your control for 24 hours I'm sure, which it stops obeying
after any command you've given to it, so.
Yeah, Speak Speak with undead says in the text it says this.
(02:23:30):
The corpse cannot be undead. Yeah, there is that.
And it's also because of animated dead.
It it specifically says they turn to a zombie and the if you
look at the stat block of a zombie, they are incapable of
speech. I was just wondering.
And I. Am letting you know.
So if you want to talk to him, you have to cast speak with Ted.
(02:23:51):
But if I want to send him back to the people that sent us here,
then I can just tell him to do that after I animate him.
That's what I'm trying to say, ah.
Yes you could. And he will. 24 hours.
As long as it doesn't take 24 hours for him to walk all the
way back home, he'll listen to me.
Give me an intelligence check. 17.
(02:24:15):
Zombies tend to take their orders literally so if you say
walk home this zombie is going to attempt to walk in a straight
line back home. Now that said it is an animated
dead so even if it like fell andtook damage like it it is undead
the IT would basically to metagame a little bit.
(02:24:37):
It would come down to a luck check to see if it makes it to
town or not because it is not going to take its own well-being
into consideration as it treks. Back down.
The Mountain. Can I monkey paw I want to go
back to his friends? Like can I can I monkey paw it?
Can I be like pick the most divine path that doesn't hurt
you and the you know what I mean?
(02:24:58):
Like you have to, you know, likemonkey paw my shit.
Obeying any command you I mean it says any command to maintain.
Bring us to where the other cultists are.
Yeah, yeah, I know. Like you could tell it to take
the safest route home. I I would give that to you.
Like it's it, it is. It does say that they will obey
any command. So if you tell it to to walk
(02:25:21):
home in a way to that, make sureit doesn't fall or get hurt,
it's going to try to do that. OK, take me to C Gran.
So you have cast Animate dead onit.
Yes. Gets up.
Grown. No, no, no.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It gets up, it groans, and with
its cloak still up over its head, with it being pantsed, it
(02:25:42):
starts staggering off to the east.
Or not E It starts staggering off to the north, heading down
the mountain. Yep, down the mountain.
So. We're going to follow him.
That's up to you. Guys, yeah, they're, they're a
lead. Can, can we, can we look around
this, this, this area that it's in to see if there was like any
of the remaining clues real quick?
Yeah, give me some investigationchecks.
(02:26:05):
I got an investigation check. I got an 8.
Not very good. What time I rope around the
zombie? Is that investigation or
perception? This specifically would be
investigate. OK, Yep, got nothing all.
Right, we follow the zombie. Adrian, what did you get for
investigate or you do you not care to look?
(02:26:27):
I didn't care to look. OK.
You guys don't find anything? Yep, he was just out here
hanging out by himself. That's right, is light traveling
with me anyways? Do I have to think about it
following me? Anyways.
Yeah, you you have the light plus your dark vision.
OK, It's just for my other my other teammates.
(02:26:48):
Yeah, I mean, it lasts an hour, so I mean, and it's a can trip,
so you can just keep casting it as you're traveling through the
night. Come on, I've.
Just loved it. I would love to say that I love
just disregarding certain thingsthat you've set up for us.
Yeah, that's, you know, three whole pages of dialogue that's
gone. Oh my gosh.
No, I'm exaggerating. It's so good.
(02:27:09):
It's like every time, every time.
Yeah, just gonna cross out this whole section of my notes.
OK, you guys continue along the mountain and you have officially
gone over the highest point and are beginning the treacherous
journey back down, and as you do, tromping through the snow
(02:27:33):
following the zombie who's moving along in front of you,
leading you ahead to the north. Could everybody please give me
Arcana checks? Before this happens, can I ask
the zombie what his name is? It cannot talk to you.
That's talk to me or it won't talk to me.
(02:27:55):
Go ahead. It's incapable.
It's name. Hey.
Zombie, What's your name? Man, that's a good name.
I'm gonna I'll call all. Right.
I'll get back to you. His name is.
Say Arcana checks please. I got a 22. 3 out of 19. 22.
(02:28:22):
Those are some good rules, guys. All right, the three of you, as
you are at the top of the mountain in the bright star sky
overhead, everything suddenly begins to get darker as thick
clouds begin to move in in all directions around you.
And all three of you can feel that this storm is unnatural as
(02:28:47):
of you it, it's, it's the, it's the, the storm clouds rolling
in, blocking the broken fragments of the moon and the
Starlight and everything else that it begins snowing heavier
and heavier. And pretty soon, very unlike A
snowstorm, lightning begins cracking out of the storm clouds
(02:29:10):
above head, with large purple streaks of lightning shooting
across the sky. And all three of you know that
this thing was in some way a storm that was summoned.
And the power coming off of the size of the storm is beyond
anything you've ever seen a cultist be capable of.
(02:29:33):
And with that. Seems as though they might be
summoning something. More lightning tears across the
sky, and then a thick bolt of lightning arcs down and strikes
the tallest tip of the mountain. And the booming echo radiates
across the mountainside. And all three of you are looking
(02:29:56):
back at the smoking peak of the mountain top, a few 100 feet
above you and 100 more feet Pat,you know, in the distance behind
you. And as you're watching, you feel
this slight rumble as the bolt of electricity that hit the
mountainside with the resoundingboom of Thunder.
(02:30:17):
You all feel an avalanche begin to gather momentum hurling
towards the three of you. I will give everyone two turns
to decide what they would like to do as this you you can't
outrun it unless you have something crazy in your spells
(02:30:39):
or something else. But you have two turns to decide
what you would like to do. So can I really quickly tie a
rope around the zombie? As one of your actions on one of
your turns, yeah. Yeah, didn't you tie a rope to
it like earlier? I wanted to but I didn't know if
he caught that. Oh, I'm sorry, I did not.
So I'd like to. OK, I'll reckon it.
(02:31:02):
Yeah, you've got to rope tie it around your zombie.
Hell yeah dude, that's what I wanted to do instead of
investigate. By the way then.
Well, it's it's already tied up.You have two turns.
What would you like to do with one of your turns?
OK, well, you know, zombies obviously trying to go One
Direction. I want to go probably into an
area where we could take cover from this.
(02:31:25):
Want to go back to the Hut? The Hut would be pretty good,
yeah. The hut's a good idea.
We go back to the Hut. Azumi, do you want to say on
your turn you summon the Hut? Yes.
All right, be sure to mark a spell slot for that.
Will will the Hut be summoned inan appropriate amount of time?
(02:31:46):
Empty turns so. That's a good question.
What? How much?
Time. Oh no, it's not it.
Takes a minute. You do not have time to summon
the Hut. OK.
One minute. No.
And like avalanches move like hella fast.
I'm sorry. No, you've you've.
(02:32:06):
Yeah. Anybody can send me like some
investigation checks if you wantto like spend one of your two
turns leaking for cover. I'll look.
I would like to, I would like to, I would like to see if this
is a magical avalanche or a regular avalanche.
What would I do for that? I'll I'll give this to you for
(02:32:27):
free for your From your originalArcana check, you know that the
storm was magic. The result of the avalanche is
mundane. This the avalanche was caused by
magic, but the avalanche itself is not magic natural.
Very well, I would like to cast in front of me 21 feet towards
(02:32:48):
where the avalanche is originating, fireball to melt
ice. OK.
So your your hope is to try and like melt some of the snow
that's avalanching down towards you guys?
That's right. OK.
I also I would like to add to that if I could.
(02:33:09):
Sure. What would you like to add?
I I I can create bonfire? Yeah, that's not as much flame
as a firewall. Not as much.
Flame it's not. No.
It's not mud, it's a bonfire. I'm sorry, I'm just telling you
have. You ever seen a bonfire?
I have in fact. All right, it says 60 feet.
(02:33:33):
I mean, yeah, like, that's goingto cause create, like a good
amount of fire, but like, it's not something that, like, does
damage and like that is going tolike, try to, like, blow it or
Sure, go ahead. I'm going to read it.
Yeah, read it. You create a bonfire on the
ground that you can see within range.
This until the spell ends a magic bonfire that fills A5 foot
cube by 60. So 60 for I don't know how it
(02:33:58):
says 60 feet for five feet cube.I don't know any creature within
the bonfire space. You can cast mustard seed on a
Dexterity saving throw taking 181-D8 fire damage.
So there is damage you can OK take and the bonfire is too
high. Yeah, dude, so big you're
making. You're making a 5 foot cube of
(02:34:19):
fire. A big fire.
What's the difference between doing a fireball?
C Well. The.
Fireball. You know, the, the, the.
Bonfire is a great idea. It's a 5 foot cube.
I I like that Fire the Fireball is a 20 foot radius sphere that
does 8D6 fire damage. What's the difference?
(02:34:43):
Yeah, 1's a little. One's just a little big.
Here's one's a little bigger. You guys are arguing this in the
12 seconds you have as the avalanche is curling towards
you. The difference between bonfire
and Fireball. I'm going to misty step the fuck
out of here. I guess the fireball OK.
Fireball blasts into the avalanche like rain, and
(02:35:07):
particles of snow and ice blow in every direction from the
fireball that that does diminishit.
I'm sorry, Adrian, where are youMisty stepping to?
Actually, I'm not going to do that because I thought about it.
I'm holding onto a zombie rope. So I'm just going to keep
holding on to this guy and see what happens.
You can rope trick and then makeit so that it goes perpendicular
(02:35:29):
1 foot and we immediately climb into it and then pull up the
rope. Rope trick is another one, and I
think it makes more sense that one.
I think I'm going to do rope trick, yeah.
OK, then you cast your rope trick, and as the avalanche is
hurtling towards you all, you'veall got 6 seconds to clamber
inside into the. Portal 10 feet up.
(02:35:51):
I like the clamor inside. You got to climb 10 feet of.
Rope, apparently. Why?
Climbing. It could be 1 foot of rope.
He. Said he put it 10 feet up.
He clipped. All the way out of rope you.
Don't have to. Climb all the way up into the
fucking thing. Just climb up 1 foot.
What's that going to happen? You said 10.
Feet. So you can't give me on some
(02:36:12):
rope. Give me some athletics.
All right, I want to climb the rope.
I want to climb. The rope give me an.
Athletics check. All right, I got a fucking 16.
What's what, boy? That's the big that'll.
Do it. That'll do it.
I got 13. Just good enough.
Let's go. Lumi, you're climbing a rope up
into the rope trick. Athletic I rolled in 19.
(02:36:36):
Oh, we all. Got it.
Three of you climb needlessly up10 feet of rope with seconds to
spare into the Demi plane of therope trick and the snow
avalanche billows past you in all directions and you are safe
(02:36:58):
from the avalanche. I I hesitate to say you guys
solved my avalanche puzzle, but I will say you have survived my
avalanche puzzle. So the space is holding the the
three of you inside. You can see out through the
portal from 10 feet up. Yeah, a lot of the avalanche
(02:37:21):
does crash around you. It was like 30 feet tall.
And it does, like you are momentarily surrounded by snow
until the avalanche continues rolling downward and the snow
kind of levels off and smooths out and the height of it goes
down as more of it slides down the mountain and you are all
(02:37:42):
able to safely exit the rope trick.
I kind of like a new game. No avalanches in here.
It's kind of safe. I I was just going to say
Adrian, make sure if you haven'talready to mark one of your
spell slots for the rope trick. I did, I'm out of second level
spell spots. Yeah, OK, good.
(02:38:03):
Good for you guys to know. With that, you are free to
continue down the mountain unless there is something else
the the four of you would like to do.
I would like to yell at Adrian alittle bit.
Yeah, go for it. But it just sounds like the
Peanuts gang like is just in thebackground.
(02:38:27):
And then while we're still walking, I'm going to be
constantly or I'm going to cast guidance and then have light
out. OK.
Is is still with? Us at the end of the day, yes,
at the end of the day, we're only alive because of you,
Adrian. So I have to give you props for
(02:38:48):
that. I'll take it.
I'll. Take it this time.
Yeah, It'll owe me a little bit gold for the for the fae things,
but yeah. As you are making your way down
the mountain, all of you do begin to notice a strange amount
of wildlife is popping out from around the trees, out of the
(02:39:10):
snow, around from behind the rocks.
Would anybody like to give me some nature checks?
OK. All right, I got a 21.
I got a 15. I got a gnat 1.
You see some just perfectly normal, like, you know, birds
(02:39:31):
and things happening, nothing out of the ordinary here.
But the rest of you noticed thatit's bunnies coming out from
behind some rocks and out of Burrows, out through the brush
and trees. And as you guys look harder,
(02:39:53):
you're noticing the bunnies, Their ears are just a little too
long. Their eyes are a little too big
and. Their paw prints don't leave paw
prints behind. Their paw prints leave like
little Bunny markers behind them.
Like it looks like a Bunny head with rabbit ears is the paw
(02:40:16):
prints that are left behind. And she rolled higher here,
Adrian with a 21. As you look at one of these
bunnies, several of them are beginning to crowd around you
all, and with a 21, you've neverseen one of these before.
(02:40:39):
But you're picking up this very distinct feeling as one hops
closer to you that these are notnormal bunnies.
They are in some way drawn to the arcane powers.
OK. Adrian, you have a Bunny
standing looking up at you with impossibly like, the longer you
(02:41:02):
look, the bigger its eyes are. And then if you look away and
like shake your head and look back at it, its eyes start
closer to a normal size and thenslowly are getting bigger and
bigger again. And it defies logic.
It hurts your head to look into its eyes as this inky blackness
(02:41:23):
looks back at you, and its eyes continue to expand and cover its
face and then cover the side of the mountain covering the mortal
realm itself. And then you look away and you
look back and it's a Bunny againwith just deep big black eyes.
What do you do? I'm going to cast fear.
OK. Every creature in a 30 foot cone
(02:41:46):
must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or drop whatever it's
holding and have a frightened condition during the duration.
As you cast fear, all three of you, I.
Was going to cast something before the fight.
All through, go ahead and make an art on the check. 16 oh the.
10 I got. AI got a not 20 baby.
(02:42:10):
OK, that that like there there are times I'm so grateful for
good roles. Adrian with a 16 you realize
that your spell isn't working and amalgas with a Nat 20 for
23, you realize as Adrian casts fear something wild,
(02:42:33):
unstructured, but akin to like it's not quite a dispel
reaction. It's almost like it's not
dispelled, but it's consumed by the bunnies and all of the
bunnies grow a little bit larger.
(02:42:56):
Oh no. And their noses.
Twisted. Oh God.
And the one next to Adrian growsa little bit bigger.
And Adrian, you look, its eyes are even bigger and it jumps
onto your foot. Am I allowed to cast Spirit
guardians because I was trying to cast that before.
(02:43:17):
You don't do. Anything.
My friends maybe don't cast spells.
I I thought that it was. Stomp on this Bunny.
Where? You're going to stomp on it.
This Bunny is sitting on your foot and it just looks up at
you. Give me give me an insight
check. OK, dirty 20.
Dirty 20 It's not violent. So.
(02:43:43):
It sits on your foot and with big black Bunny eyes it looks up
at you. It's nose twitch.
I'm either going to, I'm going to take the fucking shit out of
it so. Oh, why would you make it upset?
No, don't kick bunnies, man. I told you guys that you would
(02:44:05):
have bunnies in this episode. It's a campaign.
It has, it's the, the campaign says of men and bunnies.
I have to. I have to kill them.
It looks. Up with you with a a.
Sweet twitching nose of this innocent face.
Just eyes keep getting bigger. Grab it by its ears and throw it
not using catapult. OK, you you grab it by its two
(02:44:27):
long ears and you toss it away and it falls into snow and it
lands and it rolls and it picks itself up.
It shakes once, twitches its ears, looks at you and you look
at it and you all see its eyes get bigger and bigger and it
just slowly starts hopping towards you again.
(02:44:47):
What is out there? What do you do?
What other kind of what kind of other things can we investigate
on this guy give? Me an investigation check or a
arcana if you prefer it's it's up to you what what you would
like to you got a roll for it. Go to 22 for Arcana.
It's summer term. So many Nat 20s.
(02:45:09):
OK Lumi Arcana 22. Yeah.
You get the sense that this, these things are absorbing the
magical energy around you, not in a hostile way.
It's like they're feeding off ofthe passive arcane powers that
emanate from all three of you. From Adrian, it's the
necromancy. From Amagus, it's the spell
(02:45:31):
sword. And the, you know, evocations
and from you, Lumi, they're feeding off of that celestial
power that comes from your patron.
And these bunnies, for lack of abetter word, they're attracted
to the three of you because of how magically powerful you are.
And they continue to kind of crowd around you.
(02:45:55):
And with all of these checks andall these arcanas and everything
else, it's there's fresh snow onthe ground.
But in the light cast by Lumi, you can see that there are also
a clutch of bunnies that are running down the mountainside.
They're way off in the distance, but you can see the vague
outline and shape of dozens of bunnies further down the
(02:46:19):
mountain past the snow line thatare running N away from the
mountain in the direction of thecultists.
Here is how we win this puzzle. We simply walk away from the
bunnies. Can I can I do a religion check
(02:46:41):
and see if these are the bunniesthat the cult is talking about?
Yeah, give me a religion check. That's a date.
I rolled A-15 on my religion check.
Neither of you have heard anything about bunnies being
involved with Sigrin. Nothing in the pamphlet, nothing
(02:47:03):
that you heard back in the city. What's the zombie doing?
Walking north down the mountain. And I and.
Several of the. Bunnies are are running around
its feet and like running back and forth between its ankles and
they are absorbing some of that necromantic energy that comes
off of your animated dead. Can I can I take one of them out
(02:47:25):
of the wild and hold it take up?Can I take one of them?
Yeah, 11 hops right up to you and lets you pick it up.
Awesome, it'll take one with me.OK then.
I'm going to head north. Where's my zombie?
I don't know what these guys aredoing.
What? Would.
Everyone like to. Do.
I'm going to go the same way. OK.
(02:47:46):
I'll follow along. OK, you all continue down the
mountain through the cold, trudging snow of the avalanche
that nearly killed you all, and as you continue, a few of the
bunnies stay behind. But could somebody please roll
me AD 8 + 1? Not me.
(02:48:08):
Not I, I'll. Roll it.
We all put our fingers on our nose.
Four of the bunnies continue to follow you down the mountain.
They're our friends. Yeah.
OK, the four of you continue your way down and it turns back
into switchbacks and rocky craggy paths and deep ravines.
(02:48:30):
As you're making your way down the mountain, you're out of the
snow. It's starting to warm back up
again. It is middle of the night still,
and the four of you with the zombie in the lead.
You are still finding tracks andsigns of the cultists running
ahead. And you do come up to a ravine.
(02:48:51):
There's a ravine entrance directly ahead of you, and all
around the mouth of the ravine you find 4 dead corpses of the
cultists. We should check what killed
them. We should, yeah.
I can I do a medical check on these guys?
(02:49:13):
Absolutely. I'll do a medicine check as
well. That's 11.
Other than that one. Lumi they, they might be alive,
you might be able to save them. They just need CPR and mouth to
mouth Adrian with an 11. You can see all of these
cultists were very thoroughly crushed.
(02:49:36):
Oh, don't get them, don't get them up.
Well, unless you want. To, but then you're not saving
nobody. Just based off of that, I assume
that he told us that. Yeah, I said that out loud.
It seems like the closer we are to these bunnies, the bigger
they get. The you see how this is a good
one, right? Not just me, huh?
(02:49:57):
Yeah, Adrian, the Bunny that you're holding in your hands,
it's a little bit bigger than itwas before.
If we keep doing magic, we keep doing magic, these bunnies will
be big enough and we can walk off the backs of them over these
ravines and stuff. We could use them.
We could use them to our advantage.
As you're saying that, the ground rumbles beneath your feet
(02:50:17):
and all three of you see in front of you as two sections of
the mouth of the ravine turn andpeel themselves off of the
mountainside itself. Out of the ravine Cliff fall and
two stone giants turn looking down at the four of you with
(02:50:42):
your 4 bunnies and it's a male stone giant and a female stone
giant. And they look at each other and
they look down at the three of you and one bends over and
possibly tall, just a huge creature and it looks down
(02:51:03):
trying to get on eye level with you.
Lumi looking you in the eye and it says why are you trying to
revive my breakfast? Oh, I thought, I, I, I'm a
priest. I that this is part of my duty.
(02:51:23):
But if it if it was your breakfast, I I won't revive it.
It's. I just thought it also tasted
better fresh. It stands upright and it looks
to the female and says says it'sher duty.
And the female replies we also have duty.
(02:51:46):
And the male giant bends back over looking all the three of
you in the eyes and it says we have duty.
I'm. Gonna step up and I'm gonna say.
We. And.
It stands up, looks to the female again.
Again says says they have duty and the female replies we have
(02:52:11):
duty and the male bends back over looking at all three of
you, his face scrunched up boulders for eyebrows like the
face scrunches in consternation and the giant looks at all three
of you and says our duty first on.
The contract on, the contract that says we have to be on.
Here can I ask? Can I ask them what duty is
(02:52:38):
yours? It stands up, looks at the
female and says asks. What?
Duty and the female replies tellthe duty and it bends back over
again. It says guard Ravine.
We help guard Ravine too. I have, I have contract with the
(02:52:59):
people that sent us. The giant looks at you and says
I have duty to Discoria. My duty bigger.
And well, I guess we should leave.
We want the same thing. You would like to guard Ravine.
(02:53:23):
We would like to remove these people who threaten Ravine.
What? Thank you.
It stands up and it looks at thefemale and it says wants to help
go in ravine maybe like others and the female says same same
(02:53:48):
duty and the male bends over andsays may travel ravine or be
breakfast. No breakfast.
You have breakfast. Have.
A mousbouche Want breakfast? What's a mousbouche?
(02:54:16):
And it grinds its stone molars and it says it.
Means it means like appetizer. Yeah, it it means the first
bite. Oh.
Or a bite or something like that.
Yeah, the the stone giant looks at the three of you and says
same duty, same deal. Answer Riddle no become
(02:54:44):
breakfast. Why not rhyme meal?
It looks at the female and the female like shakes her head,
like one hand pinching her giantboldered stone nose, and the
male bends over and looks at youand says Czech privilege common,
not first language. Oh.
(02:55:07):
Why do you know this? Jerk.
What is their first language? Giant.
Oh they're giants, That's hilarious.
I know so many languages, but not giant I guess.
The giant says Riddle or be crushed by duty.
(02:55:34):
Is duty like a is? Is duty the the stone giant
woman? Because that doesn't sound too
bad. Looks at why, looks at the other
giant, and then bends over and looks at you and says careful
wife. Oh understand, I also had a wife
(02:55:54):
at one time she she also would pinch brow just like that.
Is an old look, I know. What is Riddle?
Riddle. We're going to drink, we're
going to drink ale with this guyonce this is.
(02:56:15):
All done. OK, the stone giant bending over
like as far as he can, leaning down to look at each of you in
the eyes. He says I existed before the
(02:56:35):
chained God fell screaming from his home.
I existed before fire drank the oceans and Luna was scattered.
I will exist if you fail and theone you chase constructs his
(02:57:02):
throne for I am older than stoneagainst me.
None have one answer wrong and Iwith you am done.
It's time. It's time, my guy.
(02:57:22):
This is, this is like the. This is the Oh yeah, I
absolutely say this. This is the Riddle that we This
is the first Riddle, first day of class.
Do you want to consult with the other players or do you just
blurt that out? OK.
Hey guys. I think it's time.
I'm not very smart, I just believe you.
(02:57:44):
Adrian, I need you to tell me the truth.
Do you contrarily argue the answer or do you agree?
I mean, time doesn't not make sense, but I don't like how fast
you, I don't like how fast you fucking just said it, you know?
(02:58:09):
Oh yeah, yeah. What's 2 + 2?
Just answer that. Like what's 2 + 2?
It's 4, but let me. I don't know.
I don't know if I'd go comfortable one day, you said. 4
Pretty quick there. I didn't.
Use that a little quick. Go on.
(02:58:30):
I just have to because there's acouple of things that exist
before Shane God fell screaming from his home, right?
There's a couple of things that happened that could exist
before. Can we use the?
History of the emotions. A couple things that will exist
if I fail. All right, fine, OK, here's
another one Death. All right, so here let me break
(02:58:51):
it down to you. OK, I'm going to go line by line
on what was being said here. OK?
I existed before the chain God fell screaming from his home.
That could mean anything, right? But it's probably probably a
reference to the chain God in mud story.
All right. And then we got I existed before
fire drank the oceans and Luna was scattered.
So it was a huge, big event, right?
(02:59:13):
So I'm probably telling you, without the need of a history
check, the calamity. The calamity did take place over
100,000 years ago. I'm.
Going to go with time as well. I agree.
I'm sorry. I am older than the stone.
I had to read the fine plan. So do you answer time?
(02:59:35):
Yes. The I.
Technically argue. I think death is another
acceptable answer. However, death cannot be older
than stone because the first things that existed would be
objects, so it would not be older than stone.
And if that got wrong, I'm willing to die on a
technicality. The stone giant stands up, looks
(02:59:59):
at its wife and says said time, and the female giant nods once
and says. Duty done, let through and the
maelestone giant bends over again and says good answer.
(03:00:20):
Riddle is more poetic in Giant. No, the great Riddle.
The great Riddle man. It makes more sense because it
takes a lot more time to say it.So yes, again it.
Takes more time to say it when you see it 1 syllable at a time.
(03:00:42):
In China, it takes longer. The ones before, they did not
bother to answer. So oh.
Oh. They just like, scream and run
away. The powerful one hold others too
(03:01:08):
and he holds up two giant massive hands and he does air
quotes in the air with giant bouldered fingers and says
distract. We crush but they run.
We have a moose bouche. What is?
Oh, oh, a moose. So did we.
Just get distracted anyways. And that's a question.
(03:01:33):
I will answer. How?
Much gold do you want for these three bodies?
The giant looks at you and looksat the bodies, holds up a giant
hand with giant boulders for fingers, and holds up four
fingers and looks at you confused.
There are four bodies on the ground.
(03:01:55):
Or. Gold, the giant shakes its head
and says. I am made of stone and rock and
Moss and magma. Gold is a dumb metal.
What? Can I?
(03:02:17):
I think we're spending too much time here personally.
I'm trying to get us some bodies.
I saw that quiz like in 2 seconds.
You really did. I thought I made that more
there. There were some good clues in
there, but I thought I made thata little more vague that it
would take some. Deliberation.
I'm surprised we're still hanging out here.
(03:02:37):
Like, I like this guy too, but we should go catch the Coltus.
We'll find some dead bodies on the We'll make some dead bodies.
Oh. My disk to fucking take all
these bodies behind us. That's all I'm trying to say.
The male giant looks at his wife, looks at you, and the wife
crosses her arms and the male giant shrugs once and says I
(03:03:03):
will cover for you. Adore this guy, that's great.
I yeah, you, you collect up the bodies.
He doesn't stop you. And he like, closes his giant
eyes and opens them again and says, wife going to give me a
headache. She want the bodies for
(03:03:29):
breakfast. Is a hurtful stereotype, but we
do love bones. OK.
I'm going to have. OK, sounds good.
OK, bye. All righty.
You guys have solved my stone giant Riddle puzzle.
(03:03:51):
I have a good idea. I have to give a shout out and a
thank you to another member of the community, Sizen, who wanted
to sponsor a additional monster for this session that was the
Stone Giants. Like I said, I did think that
the puzzle or the Riddle might have been it could have gone a
(03:04:13):
couple different ways and if youhad answered wrong it would have
been a fight and you would have had to fight his sponsor.
But in this case, you answered correctly.
You have solved the sponsor in adifferent way and you are able
to move freely into the ravine without being attacked by the
stone giants. I mean, we can, we can just
(03:04:33):
fight them. No, no, no, no, no.
You're just some guys, man. Yeah, a guy you were just saying
you want to get a beer with. Later the the stone giant looks
over his shoulder and says we'llneed beer later.
Come back. Yeah.
(03:04:53):
Yeah, and a wife begins yelling at him in Giant, and he begins
responding demurely in Giant. Here's here's the wife.
All righty, you guys made your way through the ravine and down
the last stretches of the backside of the mountain, coming
(03:05:20):
out of the craggy narrow stone arches and the natural bridges
and the 1000 foot drops on either sides and the howling
winds that are coming up the north side of the mountain.
You finally start to make your way down to level ground and you
find yourself on barren sheer wasteland.
(03:05:44):
Very little vegetation. Stone pillars are all across the
basin, where it looks like hundreds of thousands of years
ago, probably some kind of calamity had taken place,
causing giant stalactites to burst out from the ground.
This might have in previous timeif you're just taking a guess
(03:06:08):
off of the giant's Riddle. This may have been ocean at one
time that has since been drainedand dried.
And as the continents and all ofDiscoria, the world you live on,
which is flat by the way, as allof dysphoria was shifted and
(03:06:28):
ripped apart and reshaped duringthe Calamity, you are making
your way through a maze of stoneSpires, tall, thin rock Spires
that are creating this kind of confusing maze with no clear
direction and sounds. Anything that you say echoes all
around you as you're making yourway through this maze.
(03:06:52):
The zombie kind of like is moving along and it gets stopped
like it doesn't quite know the right way through.
Stupid zombie. Could all of you please give me,
let's call it, navigating it it's been. 5 minutes since I
rolled. Oh my goodness, that's terrible.
(03:07:16):
I I need you to make me a, let'scall it an intelligence save.
I failed. I got a 5.
All three of you lose half a daywandering from pillar to pillar,
trying to make your way through, and every time you think that
(03:07:36):
you're traveling further north, as the sun comes up over the
horizon of Dysgoria and the scattered remains of Luna
retreat across the night sky, you just continue.
It feels like you're moving in circles, but you eventually,
after a lot more time than it should have taken, you make your
(03:07:57):
way out the other side of the hoodoos of the the the Rockspire
Maze. And in front of you is flat,
barren basin of land with thick, scraggly weeded branches and
thorny. Not quite cactus, but like it
almost looks like it maybe Once Upon a time used to be some kind
(03:08:20):
of seaweed plant that has since adapted and grown in this
hostile territory. As the sun begins to beat down,
all of you are making your way. As the sun rises, could all
three of you also please give meperception checks?
(03:08:41):
At the one. Not one.
Lumi, all you see are your feet as you are staring at the
ground, trudging forward. A natural 1A.
Dirty 1 am. I guess same thing with you.
You're just tired. You're exhausted, you're
trudging along. You didn't sleep last night.
(03:09:04):
And again. Despite everything, I'm so
tired. Adrian, who does not have
disadvantage on this with a 21, the guy who wanted to sleep but
stayed up and is not negatively impacted at all.
Adrian, you see off in the distance what was once hiding
behind one of the rock Spires. You see a cultist just taken off
(03:09:26):
to the West, running full speed, running away.
He's about 30 feet away. Oh shit, I really need to like.
Fuck. Do you tell the others hey?
Well, hold on. I mean, yes, I tell the others
he's right there. He's right.
He's over. There, everybody has a chance to
react. Oh.
He's over there. There is, there is.
(03:09:48):
It's it's sunrise, Yeah. So there's dim light across the
land. Can I?
Can I cast? I cast Whoa bro.
He looks over his shoulder and he shuts.
You'll never catch up the Seagram.
Can I use steps of night then? I'll give it to you.
Yeah. So what is it?
(03:10:10):
Tell us. OK, I cast steps of night,
allows me to fly. OK, what is your fly speed?
Oh, it gives me flying equal to my walking.
OK. Wait, does it not make me
faster? It doesn't look like it, but
I'll, I'll give you this. He's, he's weaving back like
he's weaving through the, like the, the tangle brush and the
(03:10:31):
thorns and things. And you're able to float over
the top. So you're not necessarily
faster, but you will be able to catch him easier as you're
floating over the top of stuff. He's having to run around.
OK. Yeah, I'll do that.
OK, give me a like, what are youdoing?
You catch up to him. I catch up to him.
I will now use Is it Athletics where I try to get him down.
(03:10:57):
Like if you want to tackle him Iwould call that like a like an
unarmed attack role. An unarmed attack role, Yeah.
OK. They do this one with advantage
because I'm above him. Why not?
Yeah, like I, I mean, I want to give you something for using
your, your cool subclass ability.
Thank you. I know I'm bending the rules,
(03:11:18):
but it's because I love my players.
We love you too. I got a 21. 21 you like
clothesline this guy, you you tackle him like monkey.
Around his back, arms around hisneck.
You you've got him. He collapses to the ground,
kicking and screaming, and he goes, no, you'll never stop
(03:11:39):
Sigrid. He's he's gonna succeed.
Nobody can stop him, not even the Empire.
Quick pants him. No, don't pants me.
I'll pants him. Like the rest of them.
I mean she's got him grappled soyou can just freely pants him.
(03:12:03):
Pants. You.
Pull his. Check his pockets.
Check his pockets. His pockets are being checked.
OK, OK, so you've got his rib pulled up over his face.
He is struggling like he he's like grappled by Lumi.
So you guys can do some investigation checks if you want
(03:12:23):
to check his pockets. Yes, I am big muscle muscle
healer. I got you. 17 for investigation.
Amagus, do you want to do an investigate?
I'm starting to feel bad for these guys.
You. Guys are just.
Whopping them? And on him, man.
(03:12:48):
I got a 25. Yeah, OK, you guys.
Adrian, you you find like again, you find some like copper coins
in his pockets. You find like he had a dagger on
him. Amagus you reach into like the
inner with a 25 you reach into like the inner pocket like as as
his robe. His inner pocket.
Yeah, yeah, yeah 'cause he had like an inner pocket in his
(03:13:09):
robe. And as he treated pants as him
by pulling his robe up over his face, he's pantsed.
And you see, with his robe half inside out, there's an inner
pocket with something sticking out of it.
And you're able to grab more of those same pamphlets that you
found before. And you also find a it it's a
(03:13:34):
multi it. It looks like it's made of
multiple metals. Multi tool.
A multi tool yes, you find you find the Omni tool, the
everything tool yeah, it's a emblem and it's a round disk.
It's a bit larger than like a gold coin.
It's a bit thicker and on it is a star that is like not not like
(03:13:57):
a a star like when you draw a star, but it's almost like diver
like. Does anybody have the the
stigmas in their eyes when you're driving at night and the
street lights are like streaked and.
Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
They have like the streaks up and down out of them.
Yeah, it kind of looks like that.
That's awesome. And as you're looking at it,
(03:14:19):
this Coltus is still like kicking and punching.
He's like, no, give me my shit back.
That's I need that emblem. Sigrid is going to help me
ascend with that. Well, it looks like this is my
emblem now. Would you like to join and
become a follower of Sigrin? I'm kind of vain.
It's it's more of like, I just like how this looks.
(03:14:43):
If you bear the marker, then you're a follower of Sigrin.
This might be dangerous. Let's knock this guy out and
then actually hold. Up No, that sounds like it'll.
Hurt. That sounds like it'll hurt.
That don't kill me. Oh.
It feels terrible. It'll feel terrible.
What? Happened.
To choke. Him out, I'm afraid.
Of pain. What happens if I use this
(03:15:05):
emblem? Hypothetically, if I have this
emblem on me. He's choking.
What will happen as as Lumi is choking him out, He can't talk.
I I loosen, I loosen my grip just a little bit so that he can
say anything. He gasps for air.
He says Sigrin will save me. Torture me all you want.
Sigrin will save me. I start poking it with tiny with
(03:15:28):
my nails to the point where it just kind of hurts.
He's still conscious. I'm not talking about anymore,
I'm just torturing him with little tiny pokes of pain.
He says, yeah, that hurts. Why are you doing this to me?
We just want to overthrow the like it's.
Magic man. We just want to overthrow a
tyrannical empire. Yeah, he has a valid point.
(03:15:52):
Everybody give me some history checks. 15.
I got 11. 16. OK, 15 and 16, Lumi and Adrian,
you've both spent some time in the empire and some of you
Amagas like even with an 11 likeyou, it's it's not like uncommon
for people to be critical of theempire.
(03:16:15):
It is across dyscoria. There are several continents and
the The Empire consists of one of the largest central
continents on Discoria, and it is a land that was, for lack of
a better word, after the Calamity.
(03:16:37):
It was beaten into submission over thousands of years by the
group of people on that continent trying to restore
order and trying to bring the world back from the brink of
extinction from the time of the Calamity.
And the the rule of the empire is largely This isn't to like
(03:17:03):
get political in any way, but the the Empire's ideology is one
of a mixing pot where all races are welcome.
There are other continents that are more dominantly occupied by
specific races. Like there's the island of the
High Elves, and it is primarily a island continent of High
(03:17:26):
Elves. Many of them are artificers.
Then further to the east there are more continents, primarily
where Orcs and Dark Elves and other bestial creatures roam.
Closer to the edge of the world, far to the South, there's areas
where there are the jungles where the Dragonborn are said to
(03:17:47):
come from, where other like giant beastial dinosaur like
creatures that also exist. So the Empire is the largest
melting pot of different races and cultures that are often
allowed to freely live and worship and do what they want.
(03:18:09):
But there is often limitations to that.
And the empire is seen by many to be somewhat tyrannical
because they rule everything. Not by a democracy or not by a
council, not by anything else, but strictly by the rule of law
that comes from the monarch. And the monarch has had the same
(03:18:30):
decree passed from king to queento queen to king to queen
throughout the thousands of years.
And this decree has been the same that fair races are
accepted. And some of the less fair races
like half orcs, dark elves, evengnomes sometimes get the side
eye as compared to their halfling cousins.
(03:18:54):
They're accepted, but they're not always treated as well.
And all of this does create a culture where oftentimes dissent
does arise. So the idea that there is a
group that is talking about wanting to overthrow the Empire,
they are not the first and they will not be the last.
(03:19:15):
And they actually had to get up to quite a bit of trouble before
the Empire guards even got involved, and then got angry
enough to hire the three of you to track these cultists down and
bring them back dead or alive. Oh, morally Gray.
What a wonderful lore dump for you all.
OK, so him him talking about this and, and describing that
(03:19:41):
they want to overthrow the empire.
Like all three of you, your level, you know, 6 adventurers,
you've been in the Empire. You've also probably traveled to
other continents and other stretches of Discoria.
You've heard this before. It's it's not new rhetoric.
All right. I punch him in the stomach.
You knock the wind out of him. Oh my.
Gosh. Where are your buddies?
(03:20:04):
They went West. Are you sure about that?
Miko cast guidance on me. I'm casting guidance.
You high five punch. Him again you.
High 5 I'm August. As you're grappling this guy
like monkey barring him from behind, Yeah, you punch him
again, he wheezes, and he goes oh really?
WI promise. You might give me here an
(03:20:27):
insight check if you would like.Oh, OK.
Let's do a little insight. We got a 5 so not very.
Good. What was advantage?
Thanks. We got a 12.
You're pretty sure he's lying. Oh, OK.
I would like to. This is probably intimidation.
(03:20:50):
My buddy right here killed one of your friends, brought him
back and then he led us here. So we can just do that with you
now, do you want to tell us or would you like to have that same
exact? Nothing happened out.
He tries to catch his breath again.
He continues to struggle and he says I am devotee of Sigrin and
(03:21:16):
no matter what you do to me, Sigrin will save me.
Will he save you from this? I punch him in the balls.
Unarmed strike damage. Yeah, go ahead, roll.
I mean, I I want to see some damage from all of you, like all
of you have been hitting this guy.
(03:21:36):
You guys you guys ever watched? Chainsaw.
Man 14. Yeah, I've watched Chainsaw Man.
You know the the ending. Yeah.
Yeah, where they do the. Kicking them in the balls, yeah,
OK, I didn't know that. I didn't know that Seagrin's
followers were you nooks. He groans.
(03:21:59):
And then I came on. The balls.
Yeah, roll, roll damage. Emotional damage.
So again I got a zero 'cause I had zero for unarmed.
Right, it's because your strength is minus.
Yeah, I got a minus A1. You you like.
Kick him in the thigh and he like is groaning from Lumi
(03:22:23):
kicking him in the nuts. Then you kick like him in the
thigh and he starts laughing at you.
He's like, it's just another dayin the ball Crushing factory
isn't it? What the fuck does that even
mean it? Means this is how I must suffer
to ascend. This was probably part of
Sigrim's plan. How?
(03:22:45):
Can he ascend when he has the token?
I don't like that he made fun ofme.
I want to. I want to cast.
I want to cast the mage hand andsqueeze his balls.
Why are we torched? This is not OK.
Not but OK. I'm just going to knock them out
right now. Knocking them out.
Don't you a crime shoot these war crimes?
(03:23:09):
You know what else is war crimes?
Disturbing the peace. No, we're not disturbing the
peace. We're just trying to enact a
coup, that's all. Just a little coup for fun.
Yeah, just a little coup. As a treat.
You're not going to. He's unconscious.
Yeah. He he falls unconscious.
(03:23:31):
Adrian, what are you doing? You know, I'm just kind of
watching them. I'm like, yeah, yeah.
Nodding in the background like. Oh yeah.
Fuck him up. He's he's unconscious.
My DT loves drinking ale, being strong, and not caring about war
crimes. Alrighty, he's unconscious.
(03:23:56):
What do you guys want to do withhim?
Well, do we believe this guy? I don't believe this man.
I don't believe him either. Would you like to do some
survival checks? Maybe survival?
I got a dirty 20. I got A at one.
(03:24:19):
I got a 12. Not one Adrian, you're you're
just busy thinking about how pleased you are that you pantsed
2 cultists Lumi with a dirty 20 you like of the knocked out
cultist. You take a very quick look
around and you very clearly see the grouped tracks of the
(03:24:39):
remaining cultists continuing N across the bad lanes.
I see. I see.
Well, you all see where these footprints are now that I'm
pointing them out, right? We should probably follow these.
Oh, OK. What?
What direction is that? That's north.
Oh yeah, that kind of just makesmore sense.
(03:25:00):
Let's go north instead of back generally in the way we came.
That makes more sense. If you want to go bloodlet that
cultist and have them as a zombie, I guess you can.
If you want to speak with the dead first before casting that,
that's also up to you. What a cleric.
What do you think? Are you asking me?
(03:25:23):
I'm asking a zombie. I'm asking.
It's his name, right? Oh, zombie grown to you?
I think I should. OK, well, we just talked to him
while we were alive. I was.
No reason for me to talk to him while he's dead, you know what I
mean? Unless it's more intimidating to
talk to somebody while they're dead, I guess.
They will tell the truth as whenyou.
(03:25:43):
They're not obligated to they they don't need to.
They they can't. They think you're hostile.
Free for Cryptic. Is that true?
Let me see here. Yeah.
Oh, yeah, you're right. The corpse is under no
compulsion to offer a truthful answer if you are antagonistic
toward it or it recognizes you as an enemy, which it would.
OK, Yep. All right, You're right.
(03:26:04):
I'm going to say, well, this guynever kicked him in the balls.
That I didn't do anything on it.Technically true.
OK, so I'm going to test speak with dead.
OK. But the lesser of two testicular
evils. It's eyes open and it looks at
you. It's SIGRA to save you.
(03:26:25):
Yeah, so yeah, exactly who? Who?
Who just saved your life? I'm dead.
And and nobody, so so nobody saved your life.
Didn't save your life? The corpse looks at you and it
says. Just because I don't see the
(03:26:47):
answer doesn't mean there is no answer.
What a lame fucking response. It's called Faith Necromancer.
What I say? You.
Literally have to tell me. You tell me.
Usually you do. Tell me a dead person.
(03:27:07):
Tell me dead person. Where's your leader?
West. So don't you fucking.
Lie to me, I'm not the one. I didn't.
I didn't get you in the balls, but I still can.
And I can send you back to the home.
I can send you back to the grave.
I can send you back to the chainGod.
Are you going to are you going to kick him in the the ghost
(03:27:29):
balls? The corpse looks at you and
says, my spirit is in the River Styx, where the God of death,
Martivus lives. I'm about to kick you so hard
I'm going to send you to the river Dicks my guy.
(03:27:49):
OK, OK. I'm glad I'm.
Glad you got a lot out of that one.
OK, OK wizard, I have an idea for you.
He's looking at a magus. I don't believe a ziggle bug and
Dick, I'm ready. I'm ready for this.
This really good. It's going to be great.
(03:28:10):
Wizard. Wizard.
The medallion. The medallion.
Yeah, yeah, the medallion, yeah.Yeah, yeah, that's the
medallion. Yeah, yeah.
Come closer. No, don't do it.
I I don't. I can't move.
I can only talk. I can't hurt you.
Come. Closer I put the medallion on
(03:28:30):
the. Coward, come closer.
That doesn't work like I my intelligence is not a -3 I I
solved. I solved the Riddle that your
leader couldn't solve in one second.
Like all he had to do was just say a word.
He. Hey, hey, wizard.
Hey, Wizard. The medallion.
(03:28:50):
Yeah, yeah, the medallion. Yeah, yeah.
You have to use it. How do I use it?
By shoving it so far up your assyou can taste it.
Oh man, you're so gross. I'm.
Dead. I was waiting for it.
(03:29:12):
You're going to stay in that way.
Wouldn't it be worse if you didn't stay that way?
My my soul stays in the river, but it can never really like
travel down to the Spire if my corpse remains animated or
something I think. Yeah, I mean that that would be
much worse for you, would you not say?
(03:29:33):
Worse than the ball crashing factory.
Yeah, I mean would you like to torture this guy more by maybe
having another slave? Plus if we get enough, if you
collect enough of these cultists, well you have like 5
dead bodies now. You can basically just.
Have like, it's like Pokémon. You just have like a whole team.
(03:29:54):
They'll be matching too. You're going to have to buy new
stuff for them. They'll just be Mac and clothes.
You'll. Have a a team of zombies.
Yeah, bleep that out please. What do you guys do?
You you know for certain that the cultists are continuing
(03:30:14):
north. Yeah, I, I flip the, I flip the
medallion towards Adrian and I say let's get out of the fuck
out of here. You want to you want to bring
this guy with us? I don't think I can just, I
don't think I can. I don't really don't think I can
bring them with us. No, all right.
We can throw them onto the disk.Yeah, so you'll let me die?
Yeah, OK. You can let go of your Speak
(03:30:38):
with dead spell. Yeah, as I will.
OK, he falls silent. You guys load him up on the disk
and you are free to continue north.
Perfect. With.
I'm trekking N with my buddies. Yeah, but like before you
release the speak with dead, thecorpse looks at you Adrian as
(03:30:58):
you are beginning to let go of the spell and it locks eyes with
you and it says our Lord will deliver us and the spell.
