fellowship of clever folk building something new, a magic
made of numbers and trust they've.
Even got this. Watcher goes by the name Agent
9. He knows the answers before you
even ask him. It's.
Creepy, but helpful. And the best part?
(00:48):
You don't need to know a damn thing to get started.
You just head to Canine Finance.Dot com and.
Keep your voice low though, someof the old powers don't like the
kind of freedom they're cooking up over there.
Now drink your Mead and act normal.
And remember you didn't hear this from me.
(01:17):
Hello everybody, and welcome to another community, Two Shot
Adventure here at D&D 7/21. My name is Mud, the Dungeon
Master, and I am joined by a plethora of wonderful
individuals playing with us tonight.
A plethora of individuals. I would love for each of you to
(01:39):
say hi and introduce yourselves. And since we use Discord for
these recordings, I'm going to start at the top of our list
with Mr. Couch Adventure himself.
Good evening everyone, I'm catched Benchems that is my
character's name, a level 2 barbarian, soon to be Level 3.
I am anticipating a great evening and a conclusion to this
(02:03):
prolonged 1 show. Woof, no, no pressure on my
part, Thanks. We also have Mr. SF with us
tonight. Hello everybody, I am SF today.
I am playing Mikhail Benet, a Asamar cleric of which hasn't
had to do very much healing so far, but we'll see in this
(02:23):
continuation. Part 2 of the Serpentine Duke.
Hey, that's the name of the show.
We've also got the crypto therapist.
Yeah, hello, back again for another exciting episode.
I'll be playing Grimace Lockstone again.
Yeah, High half elf warlock who made a very close and brief
(02:48):
encounter with the afterlife, but was snatched back briefly by
a the wonderful contribution of a fellow team member here.
So we got a really good party and looking forward to see what
the rest of the adventure brings.
Absolutely, I think there was some emergency health potions
(03:08):
poured down people's throats. Also with us tonight we have T
Dog. Yeah, T dog level 24, and I'm
probably going to need some of that.
Healing. And last but certainly not
least, we have Mr. Waldo himself.
Hello hello Waldo McCoy play andKilbor Precostis, a Dragonborn
(03:33):
paladin almost Level 3, so I'm pretty excited to slay some
monsters and get some XP this round here.
Slay some monsters indeed. Well guys, let's just give our
listeners a a tiny little recap of what happened last time on
(03:55):
the Serpentine Duke. You, as a group of adventurers,
had been hired by a group of village councillors and members
of the village where villagers have been going missing up at
the Dukes mansion. People keep getting invited up
(04:17):
to the mansion for some grand banquet or a dinner party or
something else. The details were always kind of
vague. Soldiers came down, read off who
was invited, and the villagers would go up to the castle and
never return. Enough people have finally
disappeared and not returned from the Duke's castle that the
(04:39):
village council decided that something had to be done about
it. And your band of heroes was
hired to take the place of several villagers, to stand in
their place and go up as the villagers to try and put an end
to whatever the Duke is doing. With that, you all went up, You
(05:02):
made it through the gate, you got to the banquet itself.
You all had a little bit of sneaking around.
Everybody tried to politely takethe hors d'oeuvres and wine, but
very deliberately, no one trusted me.
No one would drink the whole wine.
And then we had a little bit of a stealth mission take place
(05:27):
where Mikhail and T Dog tried togo off to the bathroom and pour.
Penelope, the dark elf maid guided the two of you down.
McHale cast a ritual and T Dog went down the hall and checked
out the kitchen where he did seethat something arcane was being
(05:50):
done to at least the wine and then was caught by the same
guard that permitted you all through the gate.
I will also notate that was a guard wearing a full suit of
armor and helmet and nobody saw his face or noticed any odd
sounds when his helmet was tapped at one point.
(06:16):
The group then reconvened in thebanquet hall, everybody
committed to not eating or drinking anything.
The banquet took place, the Dukecame out, gave a short speech,
and then the next thing you knowthe floor was opening up from
under all of you. Oh, also an important note,
Mikhail was peer pressured a little bit into enjoying the
(06:40):
wine being shared as he was sitting there front and center
next to the Duke. So one person did imbibe a tiny
bit, the floor opened up and everybody fell down through the
floor, most of the guests crashing through a giant abysmal
(07:02):
crack that was running through the dungeon underneath the
castle. Everyone else falling to the
landing on either side, some with feather falls, some with
some good acrobatics, and also managed to save Penelope, who
the Duke also threw into the pitfor having done such a poor job
(07:23):
of watching the guests who were snooping around.
The group fought a group of flying snakes as well as some
awful creatures that were half canine hound and half snake, and
T dog was very nearly outright killed, but was saved by the
(07:44):
group. They then proceeded to do a
little bit of dungeon crawling and exploring, finding some
health potions, some spider webs.
They burned to the ground, made their way through a tight tunnel
through the water, and then madetheir way down to a tiny little
treasure room that had a whole pile of gold in it and some
bones ritualistically set on theground in a circle.
(08:07):
And through a series of events, they ended up fighting a
spectator down there in the faketreasure room and have
successfully slain the spectatorand settled in for a nice long
rest there for the night. All of the players have
refreshed their characters. Everyone has Max hit points, Max
(08:27):
spell slots, and all of their rage and abilities ready to go
as all of you are sitting aroundthe glow of couches axe, pretty
much the only light you have down here.
Does anybody want to do or say anything specific either before
(08:48):
you all go to sleep or as you are all waking up?
All of that fighting, I slept really good.
Well with that the night I did roll for this ahead of time,
nothing comes down the path during the night and everybody I
assume you guys would like want to take turns keeping watch
(09:11):
throughout the long rest as you all tried to recover.
As said in the intro, nothing went bump in the night and
everybody should now be awake, fully rested and ready to
continue. The only path forward is back up
the way that you came from climbing up through the three
(09:31):
levels of pools, and previously I believe it was Kilbor walking
on water with one of his rings. I had saw that there was another
ledge in the top pool that everyone could climb up to and
climb up over the edge of. Glad the alarm didn't go off
through the through our night. Yeah, definitely.
(09:53):
I, I will say that that would have been a perfect opportunity
for a sponsor to have come in and potentially interrupted the
rest of the night. But no sponsors this round.
So everybody, if you have your map up and everything ready to
(10:14):
go, there is some different amounts of exploring you can do.
If you want to go up to the top pool, you can try searching
another area or risk the waters looking around more, or you can
try to climb up the ledge and continue through the dungeon.
(10:34):
I'm cool. It's climbing up to the ledge.
Should we check these? Did anybody check these pools
for anything? I think there's any.
We need to search them a little bit on our way back up.
Yeah, I don't believe anybody did any kind of like
investigations, but you certainly can.
Let's go ahead and roll some dice.
Let's do some investigation checks.
Everybody can take a crack at it.
(10:56):
If your character is wanting to,just search in the water to see
if there's anything there. Couch was a 10 + 1 and I'll let
you. OK.
Gilmore rolled a 14. Gilrang, 16.
Grimace Salsa rolled a 14. OK.
And Mikhail, what did you roll there?
(11:18):
Oh, I rolled up rock. Yeah, I got, I got nine.
Oh, I thanked Couch for remembering the alarm was set
up. Yeah, no drug.
I also laughed at T Dog saying that they're going to probably
need some healing. Yeah, definitely.
Well, unfortunately, so as you guys make your way up T dog with
(11:40):
a 16, that's certainly not bad. As everybody is making their way
up T dog, you do find some smallanimal bones in the water.
It's things that look like they have been eaten and either
(12:02):
regurgitated or spit back out. It's a lot of like rat bones and
bat bones and you know, other like small rodents and things
like that, but nothing of particular value.
Before progressing more, could Icast a couple of spells?
Absolutely. I'd like to cast guidance on T
(12:24):
Dog and then light on the amuletof our Dragonborn ally, and then
if I could cast as a ritual after I finished doing those
things, Detect magic. That'll be all for me for the
next couple of minutes. Nice.
Yeah, definitely. I'll just say that you were able
to kind of do that, like during the long rest period.
(12:46):
So that all takes place. So yeah, Kilbor, your amulet
begins to glow with that. Did you say you cast daylight on
it? Oh, light.
Regular light. Right.
Great. Yeah.
So the the light glows. You guys have that same amount
of light as you had before, ableto see where you're going.
(13:06):
And with your detect magic, I'llsay right away, it's going off
here in the treasure room. But you guys had already kind of
done your investigations of that.
You you're pretty sure that whatyou're detecting is the
deception of the gold and that it looks like gold, but then it
dissolves in your hands. So your detect magic is really
(13:29):
kind of pinging off of the rest of that deceptive gold that's
there in the corner of this room.
Very well. Thank you.
And since you gave T dog guidance, T dog, do you want to
roll AD 4 to add to your investigation check I.
Got 2. 2 All right, so with an 18 you when you go is all make
(13:55):
your way up to the top pools andyou don't need to roll for this.
You had used ropes to get down here.
You're able to take your time aseverybody makes their way up and
gets to the top pool. T dog you find in a deeper area
of the pool there is another setof bones, and this one is a
(14:19):
human skeleton. And you do see down there at the
bottom of the pool, there is a silver chain wrapped around the
vertebrae of its neck. I don't think that I messed with
that the last pile of bones caused this some problems.
You can definitely tell. Everybody else to see it?
(14:39):
Yeah, I'll let everybody know and remind him what happened
last time. Do you guys want to go check it
out or no? Couch is interested in it and
wants to pick it up. Sure.
So it's a little bit of a swim to get to the bottom of that
pool. So I will ask you for an
athletics check to get down there and try to get it, Can
(15:03):
Kilborg. Like give him a push since he's
like walking on water. Sure, go for it.
That was a 16 + 5 A 21. Yeah, man, a piece of cake.
You're able to swim right down. You unclasp the neck.
(15:24):
I mean, you tell me, how do you do you?
Do you just like RIP the necklace off the neck or do you
try to unhook it with a 21? You can do pretty much.
You can do it however you would like.
Yeah, I just popped the skeletonsmall off of the vertebrae and
quickly get the necklace up overthe back of his neck and swim
back to the top all. Right then.
(15:46):
So with that, as you come up to the top, this also Mikhail is
setting off your detect magic sets as, as you came up to the
top, I, I kind of use that investigation for spotting it.
But as you, Mikhail, also come up, because I think you're
(16:09):
detect magic, it's got a range of like what, 2030 feet?
30 Yep, within myself. Yeah, so it would also be going
off and you can tell that this is a magic necklace, but unless
somebody has an identify spell, you're not quite sure what kind
of magic it is. Does anybody have an identify
(16:31):
spell? Not at this time.
No. Or something, no.
It's definitely magical. Look at that thing.
Yeah. So as you're all kind of taking
a look at it in the light of Kilbor's amulet, you can see
that it is a silver chain. It's a very thin, delicate
chain. And at the center where the
(16:53):
amulet is, it is 2 silver bands that seem to be wrapping around
each other like 2 twin snakes. And then down at the bottom the
2, instead of it being 2 heads of a snake, it becomes the upper
mouth and the lower mouth of a snake head.
And there's definitely a magicalglow to the stones that are set
(17:19):
in the eyes of it kind of looks like the pharmacy symbol.
I guess that that's kind of likea a way to think of it.
And do you want me to? Do you want me to pocket this
necklace or Penelope? Have you ever worn jewelry
before? You got to be.
She has to be useful for something.
Penelope looks at it and she goes.
(17:40):
Oh, I mean, I, I've, I've, I've had a, you know, a hemp anklet
once that I wore for a little while.
Oh, silver is more precious. What do you?
Think guys, it would go great with her eyes.
I. Might want to be careful with
that, I don't know. We can always get it identified
later. She shrugs and says I'm I'm
(18:02):
happy to carry it if you would like.
Let's rest it going saucy tonight.
All right, Penelope puts on the necklace and she in the brackish
water that you're all still standing in, She like, tries to
kind of turtle and curtsy once while wearing it.
She goes, yeah, I've never worn anything this fancy.
(18:23):
Before I ask her if she feels any different.
I feel pretty. Oh, you mean magically?
No, no, I don't feel anything. Oh, thank you.
It's a necklace of prettiness. Yeah, suddenly Penelope is just
like a 10 out of 10. Like she she just looks awesome
(18:43):
to everybody now. No.
OK, so you guys now have a undefined necklace that
Penelope, the servant of the Duke, is now wearing.
Do you guys want to climb up to that second landing?
I'll say, why not all? Right.
(19:04):
Everybody. So with Kilbor being able to
walk on water, you you've effectively undone the the skill
check challenge of trying to climb up this thing.
But everybody hops up and find yourselves in a tight space of a
(19:25):
room. There's a door to the left that
does not have any handles to it and appears to be sealed shut.
And there is a broad door to theright, and it has something
written on it. Who can read?
(19:48):
Do we understand the language or?
Yeah, so you approach the door and it is written in Elvish.
The dialect is the Dark Elf dialect that anybody who speaks
Elvish would be able to read thedoor.
Well, I'm definitely elvish. OK, so Grimace, you are able to
(20:13):
read, but the door says to pass through me one must give a piece
of themselves they must relive. Not a coin, not a jewel nor
gold, but a part of the soul, brave and bold.
And as you are reading that, do you say it out loud to the rest
(20:33):
of the group for them to hear? Yeah, I can just read it out
loud. Sure.
As you do the Brazier that's in the center of this room, it's a
large metal circular Brazier, and they're in the center of the
room. As you read it out loud, it
lights up and now the room is filled with a glow of the flames
(20:56):
of that firelight. And just for everyone's
convenience, I'm going to go ahead and post what the door
says here in the chat, just so that you have it in writing.
Anybody have any ideas what it means giving something up?
Are we going to have to sacrifice Penelope?
(21:18):
To pass through me, one must give a piece of themselves they
must relive. Not a coin, not a jewel nor
gold, but a part of the soul, brave and bold.
Oh, a memory. I said yeah, that's what I was
thinking. Memory, something I lost.
Who would? Like he's the keist, I say.
(21:39):
We, we play rock, paper, scissors for it.
I throw a rock. At who?
I throw rock at T dog. What does no What does T dog
get? I got on the paper.
Couch has scissors, don't ask mewhere you got them.
(22:00):
They're real scissors. All right, Couch, It looks like
you get to decide who's going upthe bat.
Kilbore for sure. Kilbore, do you agree with this?
And poor. I'll do it.
That's for kicking me in the water.
All right, Kilborn, what do? You do.
Well, I guess I'm going to sit down in the middle of that thing
(22:24):
and do some meditating. The the the burning Brazier.
Oh, it's, it's hot. Oh yeah, no, this thing's lit up
on fire. Oh.
Oh, Oh, yeah, the it's, it's a, it's a burning like fire pit in
the center of the room. It could have been ethereal
fire. Not really.
Oh, can I cast mage hand and touch the fire?
Absolutely. OK, what happens to the Mage
(22:46):
Hand? It burns a little bit.
And Oh yeah, that's, that's fire.
That's fire. So it was memory.
Was that the answer to the Riddle?
It's it's. What we're feeling.
You say that out loud, but the door does not open.
Oh, that's. Through me one must give a piece
of themselves they must relive. Not a coin, not a jewel nor
(23:08):
gold, but a part of the soul. Brave and bold part.
Of the. Soul.
I hope we don't have to actuallygive our soul.
But you got to relive right? You must relive piece of
themselves. They must relive.
Help me out guys, what should I do?
So we have to give an offering of some sort.
(23:31):
I mean, I'm a dragon. I really don't have too much
hair. I think I might have a few
whiskers. Do you have something that
happened to you that was emotionally painful that you
could recount amongst all of us?Maybe something that was
traumatic? Does anyone have a sad story?
I I lost I I I lost my memory. I don't remember anything up
(23:54):
until the I woke up near a cave and then I went to the US family
and arena to to fight. Looks like this isn't your first
time doing this type of Riddle. What am I?
Is it a little bit of pain? Should I just stick my hand in
(24:14):
the fire? And then tell us.
Oh man, that's kind of scary. What do you guys think?
Before all we had to say was memory, but now we have to
actually give it up, right? Yeah.
It's hard to say. Like, you know, I'm not, I'm not
revealing my secrets. Do you put your hand into the
(24:35):
flames? Yeah, yeah, Kilbor just kind of
sticks his hand in the flames. OK Kilbor, you are going to take
1D6 fire damage as you singe your hand, so that's just going
to be four points of damage. Yep, it's hot.
(25:00):
With that on the door, a emblem beneath the words begins to glow
red hot. What's that emblem say?
It almost kind of looks like a marker.
Sharpie or. To metagame a little bit, the
(25:22):
door has accepted your offering.Nice, so do I need to put my
like hand on the door? Push it open.
Yeah, you can leave it. Yeah, go.
Go for it. Yeah, put my hand on the door
where the marker is and just give it a push.
It does not. Bud, we may have.
To all do this, I think we may have to all do this.
Oh. Does it look like there's a spot
(25:43):
for other markers to potentiallyshow up?
Yeah. Oh, lovely.
All right, I'll pull out the burn salve, guys.
I'll. I'll stick my hand on the on the
fire as well. But may I first suggest to
everyone that if this doesn't work, there's a fire play with
prestidigitation, we could just turn off the fire.
(26:04):
OK. No.
Yeah. And what happens?
I don't. Sound like there's any risk?
We just turn it back on, right? Yeah, we got torches.
We got a maze. That won't end too poorly, could
I? Could I try turning off one of
the fire spots where one could offer their hand by using fire
play to snuff out a fire? Yeah, like it's all kind of like
(26:27):
it's, it's not that there's like5 or, you know, 6 spots in the,
in the Brazier. It's, it's just one kind of like
open flame that's in the center of it.
But you can definitely press thedictation to try and snuff it
out. I would like I would like to try
snuffing it out. OK, you do that, and the flyer
(26:48):
does gutter out and the marker on the wall disappears, the
marker on the door. And then as you're all standing
there, after a moment the flame lights up again and reignites
itself with the five or six of you being present there in front
(27:09):
of the door. But the marker from Kilbor is no
longer on the door. Yeah.
Looks like I'm going to have to do this again.
Penelope puts a her like hand onyour wrist to like stop you
Kilbourne and she goes. Maybe there's other things that
could be offered to it. Obviously the Duke built this
(27:30):
and a sacrifice of flesh was accepted, but there there might
be other offerings that can be made to open the door.
Like Penelope. Let's not do.
That oh like oh, OK, OK, OK. She She laughs nervously, like
the clerks got jokes. That's the only thing they let
(27:52):
us have. I got a tinderbox I could throw
in there. Yes, more fire for 400.
Yeah, I mean it. It's up to you.
Go for it. OK, I'm going to throw one in
there. You you throw like the whole
tinderbox in. Yeah, I just like, oh, wait, I
give everybody a a piece of the Tinder first and then I throw
(28:13):
one in. OK, so you're not throwing the
whole item in. You're, you're giving everybody
like a piece of Tinder for everyone to like, throw a little
thing in. Yeah, like divided it up evenly,
yeah. OK, who would like to toss in
first? Did anything happen when Kilbor
threw his in? Kilbor, are you tossing yours in
first? Yes, yes, Sir.
(28:35):
You toss. It in and the flame consumes the
Tinder and the flame glows a dark red and bursts in your
direction. Please give me a Dexterity
saving throw. Got it out for you man.
Oh my goodness, I got a one. A Gnat 1.
(29:00):
With a + 1, so it is a 2 but. Yeah, I do.
That's a Nat 1 kilbor. I mean, I can't, I can't make
this like I'm going to just haveto say a fail's a fail kilbor.
You the the flames gust in your direction and you take another
(29:25):
five points of flame damage and no marker appears on the door.
You you get the sense that your offering was not accepted.
And we had to clarify when you do some healing.
That's right. Yeah, I'm good for.
Kilbor is missing his eyebrows and everything else, everybody
(29:49):
else holding a piece of Tinder. You get the impression that this
is not a offering personal enough for what the door is
requesting. Yeah, I've flicked my piece back
over at Kilbor. A part of the soul, brave and
bold. I think we all just have to burn
ourselves, guys. I don't think there's anybody
(30:10):
around it. That's true.
I would like to offer a memory of a prior experience.
So I will go up to the flame andI recount a story of since I'm a
cleric that goes and helps clearplagues and that's why I
originally joined this quest with everyone.
I recount of a time of which a plague swept through a small
(30:32):
village South of here. I had prayed and begged and
offered days of fasting as well as healing to those but a small
child, of which I had a subtle fondness for had died.
The parents cursed the gods, buteven more so they cursed me for
not having the power to heal it.And so that night I wept in the
(30:56):
Chapel as I created a pyre for the small child.
And for a moment my faith had all but cracked.
And that memory had seared myself and steeled myself for
the resolve that I needed for the days ahead.
But for that brief moment, I hadalmost foregone my vows to pray
(31:16):
to my God. How's that for a memory?
What a memory, McHale. A emblem appears on the door,
and as you recount this memory out loud, as the words are
coming out of your mouth, you almost feel like you're reading
a script or like recounting something that maybe happened to
(31:39):
someone else. And by the time you finish
talking, that memory is gone. The memory, the memory of the
mission, the memory of the child, and the memory of almost
losing your faith. You.
You offered up a whopper. All of that is metaphorically
(32:01):
consumed by the flame, and an emblem appears on the door with
your offering. Guys, I don't understand but I
feel really good right now. Yeah.
Thank you for sharing that. Carrying what?
Ouch. Doesn't have anything as
touching, so he's just going to touch the fire.
OK, as you offer flush to the flames, I did roll A1 couch.
(32:29):
You take one point of damage anda second emblem appears on the
door. I'm also I look over at the
flying and do exactly what Couchdid.
OK. Hoping that another emblem comes
up. Grimace, You take five points of
fire damage as you sear your hand in the flames. 1/3 emblem
(32:51):
appears on the door. Grimace or someone.
That was. Oh I'm so sorry, I I mixed up
your voices D dog, you take the phobia points.
So I believe that leaves Grimaceand Kilbor.
I don't think you've made a offering yet that's been
accepted. Yeah, and I'm, I'm thinking, I'm
(33:12):
thinking of stories and I reallydon't have too many, you know,
since it's only goes back to theAshfalian Arena.
So yeah, I'm. That go ahead and take your
time. Penelope walks up and she has
her hair done up in like in a very like fancy bun that you
know was all the maids had. She undoes her hair and pulls
(33:37):
out her little like cutting knife that she had.
And gripping her hair, she crudely cuts through her long
hair. And she says it's part of dark
elf culture. Our, you know, hair is, you
know, kind of a symbolic of your, your age or your wisdom or
(33:59):
your status. And that was one small thing
that Duke gave us all was the right to grow out our hair as
long as we were in his service. And I, I renounce him and I
renounce that. And I hate how long my hair is
for having been in his service. And she cuts through the hair,
(34:20):
wads it up and throws it in the flames.
And a fourth emblem appears on the door.
That look, the new haircut, new necklace.
I like this. Yeah, she like fingers at her
very like short chopped hair nowlike her, her hair is like ear
length or so like she she cut itas high up as she could get it.
(34:42):
I knew we needed to sacrifice Penelope.
Yeah, well, thankfully it was a part of me that didn't hurt.
I mean, hurt my pride maybe, but.
Can we observe how many emblems are on the floor?
Do they only appear? They are appearing in the.
Metal of the door As each personmakes an offering, it's not like
(35:03):
there's a slot that starts glowing, there's just like these
markers that are appearing with each person who is making their
offering. Can I compliment Penelope with a
persuasion check? Yeah, definitely.
I got a 18 + 3. You look better like this.
(35:24):
She again, she like, tries to like, twirl her short hair in
one finger and she says thanks. Yeah, it's going to take some
getting used. To All right, that's enough.
OK, I don't actually want to talk about it.
I'm not a very nice cleric, I realize I was.
(35:44):
Gonna say grimace and couch. I got it.
I got it. I'm sorry, not couch kilbor.
Yeah, so Kilbor, he goes up to the, you know, the fire and he's
like recalls the story of of a battle with with this distant
cousin. It was a dragon and, and and and
(36:09):
the dragon was attacking them and and and he accidentally
stabbed one of his best friends.Or it wasn't your cousin.
Yeah, shout out to the AshfalianArenas for people who have been
listening in order. Yeah, Kilbor killed a cobold
(36:33):
cousin as well as a Wyvern and accidentally stabbed Couch in
the arm with a Nat one roll. You OfferUp that memory, and
same as Mikhail, your your memory of that battle.
You don't quite remember that part of it.
You no longer remember stabbing Couch.
You don't remember slaying a cobold in cold blood in the
(36:58):
arena and a fifth emblem appearson the door.
As he was saying it, he was winking.
A couch all. Right, so another emblem has
displayed, but the dorsal isn't open.
Correct, and the only person whohas not given something I
believe is Grimace. Yeah, so Grimace is not as good
(37:19):
of a storyteller, but he does recount a story from his past
where a tribe of of orcs came into his village to his when he
was young, about probably 10 years old and well in else years
and and basically attacked the entire village where he lived,
(37:46):
basically killed his parent, both his parents and his his
younger sister. And he basically, he was
basically able to escape and hide until they were all gone
and wiped out. They wiped out about half of his
(38:07):
village. And so he kind of had to grow up
by himself and was raised by some other family friends.
But he definitely never forgot that incident and lost most of
his family as a result. So he offers that up as a.
As a memory. Yeah, that.
That'll do it, man. Again, as you say it, grimace
(38:31):
you, you, you almost feel like you're reading something out of
a book. And as soon as you're saying it,
the memory is evaporating from your mind.
And by the time you finish, you're left with this hole in
your childhood where there was one day you had parents and then
the next day you didn't. And you don't remember how or
(38:53):
why, but the rest of you, the other five of you, have heard
this also spoken out loud. The memory has been taken from
Grimace, just as the other memory was taken from Mikhail.
But a 6th emblem appears on the door, and the door on its own
swings open. Kilbor's still crying and and
(39:17):
and and hugging Grimace right now, like what's wrong?
Oh, sorry, sorry. OK, let's go.
Accounting check. How's everybody's health doing?
Oh. Couch is just a little bit warm
on the hand. I'm a I'm about half.
(39:38):
I've got I'm 18 and I've got 9 left.
I see you I I believe that some salve is in order here.
Indeed, we could do a spell or or a healings potion.
What would you guys prefer? I can cast the this is from
asmars. I can cast the Healing Hands
(39:59):
once per long rest. It's a 2D four.
Yeah. So I'll, I'll just do that now.
We got 5 so you can heal 5. Perfect.
Yeah, Gabor, you heal up five points.
Thank you. The door swings open and the the
light in the Brazier flutters once and goes out and you are
(40:24):
now. The door still remains open and
you are now able to proceed forward by the light of Kilbor's
amulet. I just need to know who would
like to go first. I shall.
Oh, very well. I have the.
I was at the Eagle so I'll be able to see anything.
(40:44):
What's my glowing? Yeah, couch with that, go ahead
and give me a perception check a. 2 + 3.
OK. Is that with advantage?
Does. I don't think it was.
(41:05):
Actually gives advantage on the perception checks.
It just lets him see things in like in the in the dim light and
in the dark. Yeah, it it gives me.
Oh, does it? OK, then yeah, go ahead and roll
again when when you have advantage to roll 2 times and
take the higher of two rolls. Oh OK, awesome. 1 + 3 is a four.
(41:30):
OK. Well.
We'll go. Five, I'm not going to Nat 1.
You here, Couch. You lead the way through and you
see some decorative tiles on thefloor and you think nothing of
it and you step on one and the tile beneath your foot
immediately begins to sink. And Couch, please give me a
(41:50):
Dexterity saving throw. 9. Yeah, that's not going to cut
it, couch. That tile sinks into the floor
and you look down thinking that's odd.
Like why? Why is this stone loose and next
thing you know you feel this piercing stabbing cutting
(42:12):
through your arm as a series of spikes launched down from the
ceiling and you are going to take kilbar.
This isn't fair to you with all the fire damage.
You took couch, I rolled the damage and I rolled A1.
(42:33):
So Couch takes another one pointof slashing damage as spikes
shoot down from the ceiling, covering the space of that oddly
colored tile. Would would anybody else like to
do some perception checks of thehallway ahead?
You guys salute. Me trans guys.
(42:53):
Who is the most perceptive amongus?
I'm. Not me.
Probably couch is Is there no one wiser?
I got a 17. Hey.
There we go, Grimace. Yeah, you definitely.
See, scattered throughout the hallway ahead is a number of
oddly colored tiles that match the one just like the one that
(43:16):
couch had stepped on. And you, you get a pretty good
sense that, you know, maybe better not to step on those.
You guys don't step there. They're able to, yeah.
You're. You're able to point it out and
everybody is absolutely able to avoid the tiles if you would
(43:40):
like to or. We can just avoid them, yes.
You can walk around them, they're they're pretty wide and
spread apart. Well, if we could do that, why
didn't Couch do it? Couch didn't notice.
With. Oh, oh, fair enough.
With Hey, I'm. Going to show you how strong it
was. 2 + 3 for A5. On his perception check he did
not notice the oddly the odd shape of the floor or the
(44:03):
colours of the tiles or anything.
OK, fair enough all. Right, I usually I usually
travel on the roads. This is my first dungeon so
forgive me. Oh, fair enough.
There you go. Yeah, so that continues for a
while. You all all are able to dip and
dodge around the floor tiles. I'm going to apologize for our
(44:27):
listeners at home. We are following a little bit of
a map that is just a visual guide for our players.
It does give the appearance of adoor ahead, but there is not
actually a door there. You are able to continue moving
down the hallway as you and you notice that the tiles have
stopped. There are no more tiles.
(44:48):
I just need to know going forward along the next curve of
of the path here, who would liketo take the lead.
Couch because you're a little injured.
Would you like me to trek along on this one since I'm pretty
bulky? Will I be doing another
perception check? I would like to slap his back
(45:10):
through with guidance. Sure, couch.
That means you'll get to roll AD4 and add that to any checks
that you do. You can choose to do that after
rolling too, yeah. All right, want me to roll
Perception now? If you're taking the lead, yes,
please roll me another perception check.
That's. Better an 18 + 321.
(45:32):
Absolutely. As you are rounding this corner
on the ground, you find a very classical, very like.
You almost laugh at it, right? There's a tripwire across the
ground and you're you're able toimmediately spot it, point it
out to everybody and safely stepover it.
(45:55):
And as you are rounding the corner with your goggles on and
everything else you see in the hallway along the curve here a
number of ballista that are primed and ready and connected
to that tripwire trigger. And everybody is able to avoid
(46:21):
setting off the trap as you all continue to make your way
through the dungeon. Good looking out couch that
hurts a lot more than just some spikes.
That one, that one actually did some damage.
Yeah. Also with the 21.
I'll tell you this. As you're walking along, you
look over the edge and you see there's actually a path under
(46:41):
you. You get the sense that the the
path that you're walking on, you're you.
It's a little hard to tell with the kind of light that you have
and with the ceiling and everything, the high overhead.
But you do get the sense that asyou're traveling, sometimes the
(47:02):
path curves up and then sometimes it's dipping back
down. And as you walk around, you do
see that there is another landing underneath you guys
there. How far down is it?
It's about a 20 foot drop. Oh yeah, that looks like the
other direction we could have gone.
Possible. I knew.
(47:23):
Featherfall. Yeah.
Field war. I'm during this Featherfall,
right? I sure knew.
But how would you get back up? Someone got rope.
Yeah, it's time Rope. I'm.
Down for. It you want to, you want to
scope it out now, or just keep going.
That is up to you guys. I I mean.
I I will let you know it it was an alternate path to get to the
(47:45):
same place you are now. It's a good.
Thing, you guys. Oops.
OK, Yeah, then let's continue. There might be something down
there. Could be treasure.
We're going to be another bad guy.
I like fighting. Me too.
I like how we're speculating on combat encounters.
(48:06):
Can can we roll something to determine if there's cooler
battles down below as opposed toup above?
I mean. Can that be like an insight
check? Yeah, give me like.
An insight check you you took a peek over the edge you're
looking down at like the the other path you you could have
(48:27):
come from. All right guys, check out this
Combat Familiar Prowess. Right now I got a 16 in total.
I'm thinking about this. Nice.
Yeah. So you look over 1 ledge and you
see it's actually a closed door on the other side.
And you doing a little bit of internal mapping with a 16, you
can tell that's the other door that was to the left when you
(48:53):
climbed up out of the pools. And this side of the door does
have handles on it to open from the left to the right.
And as you continue to look overthe other ledge, you see part of
another hallway that you could have come from, possibly from a
(49:15):
different direction. And as you look down there,
yeah, you, you see some of thoseflying snakes kind of Slytherin
around. All right guys, there's any more
monsters down below if you guys want to fight, that's for sure.
I'm pretty sure there's definitely going to be more if
we keep going too. That is.
A safe. Assumption We've seen these
(49:39):
flying snakes before. Let's continue forward.
Let's get cooler snakes. Yeah.
OK, you guys continue forward. And so just like you noticed
before, at first it seemed like this path you were on was arcing
upwards and you were seeing the landing down below where the
path seems to like intertwine ontop of itself, almost
(50:02):
overlapping. And as you continue forward,
again, the map is kind of a visual aid.
But I will tell you, you guys travel actually for a good
amount of time. The next stretch here it the
path goes down deeper and deeperand deeper.
(50:23):
Pretty soon you can't tell how high up like the ceiling is
anymore as you continue to travel downward and it's getting
colder, it's getting damper and murkier.
And you do begin to notice mushrooms are popping up like
between some of the cracks and the stones, and the earthwork is
(50:47):
also getting rougher and rougher.
The stones are no longer nicely laid tiles.
They're more fractured and broken with the fungus that's
growing out between the cracks in the mortar.
There's Moss growing on the walls and there's just this as
you're continuing down this kindof like stank that's building up
(51:09):
over time as you continue deeper.
And that leads you up to anothersection of the floor here where
there is another sealed door. And you also.
(51:30):
What were they trying to leave out?
What's that? What were they trying to leave
out with all these doors and locks?
Probably us. Hard to say.
Are they tipping something out or are they keeping something
in? Can I do like a nature check on
these mushrooms? Absolutely you can.
OK, A9. They're bright red.
(51:54):
These things look tasty. Yeah.
That's the that's the color of blood.
That means it's healthy for you.Yeah, that that means it's good
for the blood system. I kick one over to couch.
I need you and Couch to both roll Constitution saving throws
(52:16):
as a cloud of spores puffs up ataround your foot.
Oh, Couch. I don't know what's going on
here. Kilbor rolled an 18.
Yeah, Kilbor, you saved Couch. What did you roll?
Yeah, you call that a gnat 1, right?
That's a gnat. One couch, that thing you know
(52:39):
there's a mushroom flying through the air that hits you
square in the face and yeah, couch, you are going to take 4
points of poison damage as you fall into a coughing fit and
with a gnat. One couch.
(53:01):
I'm sorry you are currently poisoned.
Oh, no. Good.
Couch I How'd that mushroom taste?
Bro, very bitter, very bitter indeed.
Thank you, Joe Dorf. Come over here, buddy.
Let's, let's, let's do some lay on hands.
(53:24):
Lay on hands. It's basically I have a pool of
healing power that replenishes when you finish a long arrest.
With that pool, you can restore a total of 10 HP.
As a bonus action, you can toucha creature, which could be
myself. I can touch myself and restore a
number HP to that creature up tothe maximum amount remaining in
(53:47):
the pool. You can also expend 5HP from the
pool of healing to remove the poison condition from the
creature. Those points don't also restore
the HP to the creature. So how much HP you missing?
I'm 19 out of 25 there, so the the poison's more important.
(54:08):
OK, I'm just going to go ahead and use all 10.
OK. So 5.
To cure. The poison and then another 5 to
heal couch. Yes.
Perfect. So, couch you are.
Not I would say thank you. I would say thank you, but
because of your shenanigans. You 2 are your own worst
(54:29):
enemies, I swear. OK, let's get.
So I'm at, I'm at full health then.
You were at 19 out of 25, you said.
Yes. You should be at 24, but like
you say, more importantly, you are not poisoned.
Yes, that disadvantage was stunk.
That would have been rough. Go ahead everybody, give me some
(54:54):
new perception checks as you're hopefully now more gingerly
moving around to the mushrooms. I got an unnapped 20.
Unnapped. 20 couch rolls a 12 + 315.
Now I got an 8 -, 2 six and. Wait, learn my rolling.
(55:15):
Perception. Perception.
Grandma's got nine. OK, I got a 12.
Mikhail, you are the first to notice, just like how previously
you you were looking over the edge looking for flying snakes
and things. Everybody notices as they make
their way around the mushrooms that the door ahead is sealed.
(55:40):
This one does not have any handles, does not have any
immediate apparent way through it.
And McHale, with that 20, what you notice is looking over the
edge. There is a stairway down below
you. It's only 10 feet down and would
(56:01):
be a relative easy jump from thelanding you're on to jump down
to that landing. OK, I like to communicate that
with everyone and say do you guys want to try this door 1st
and if it doesn't work we can jump down.
I'm down. Let's.
Do it. OK, Could could we push on this
door and see if it if it budges,if anything happens with it?
(56:21):
It at a cursory push, it does not open.
Stupid door. Does it have anything on it?
Any markings? Any go.
Ahead and get me an investigation check.
I slap his ass with guidance. Seven, you say?
That's a four. Plus four, Yeah, No, it's just a
a single steel frame door. Oh wait, I got a 7 + 411.
(56:46):
It is a solid steel frame door that definitely looks like it
could be opened, but there's no handle or anything on this side.
There's no writing, there's no inscription or anything like
that on this side. You can't like bring.
Pull on it, right? You can try.
Can we bring Penelope a little bit closer?
Yeah, Penelope. Does anything happen?
(57:12):
Penelope approaches the door andshe looks at you confused and
then she points at the necklace and she goes oh what this sure,
yes. She walks closer to the door and
nothing happens. It's worth a shot.
She gives up this like a big sigh of relief.
(57:33):
I want to try pulling on it. Yeah, give me a strength check.
18. 18 is pretty good, but the door does not budget.
I think we got one way down. Somebody else is writing to try
if they would like. Yeah, we can all do
investigations checks and just see.
(57:53):
And if we can't figure it out, then we could do.
Can I mage hand underneath or through the door and see if
there's a lock on the other side?
Yeah, you definitely can. Gosh, let me think.
So what you're you're like looking for a handle on the
(58:15):
other side? For like a lock or something
that's preventing us from movingit, you know, like a barricader
or something. Hopefully something that's less
than 10 lbs. With.
Your mage hand you're able to detect that there is a handle on
(58:35):
the other side. The Maychand is strong enough to
wiggle the handle and the door does rattle in its frame once,
but it does not open and it doesgive you the impression that
there is something on the other side that is locking it.
I'm trying to think of like I, I'm always, I'm never quite sure
(58:56):
like how to handle Mejan, like if it should be like a
investigate on your part or likean arcana check to see like how
well you manipulate the hand. So I'll leave that up to you.
You can do either an investigateor an arcana check, whichever
you prefer. OK, so let's do Arcana like I'm
managing the hand. Yeah, all right, let's see.
(59:20):
I got 18 + 1. Yeah, that that's hard to argue
with your mage hand does find a a locking mechanism on the other
side. It's small and intricate and a
(59:41):
19 is the the DC for this wasn't18.
I kind of treated it like a lockpicking check, but your mage
hand you're able to with the nimble fingers of your spectral
hand, you you twist and push in and then pull to the side.
This intricate kind of lock and door swings open.
(01:00:06):
I just jiggle it a little bit work.
So you guys have a? Mage.
You guys have two options available to you.
This path leads downward. More mushrooms are growing up
out of the ground. It is leading downward.
There is also the path to the right.
(01:00:27):
If you look over the ledge, there's the landing down below.
It is up to the the five of you which way you would like to go.
Couch's thought is snakes seem to be a theme leading us to the
final destination. Think we should take that
alternate path first? See what's done there?
(01:00:50):
I can jump down there real quick.
Well, you could float down therereal slow the winding.
Road was snake themed so the snake let us.
Big church right? But I'm down for the alternate
road to see what goes on. Do we split or do we all go?
(01:01:11):
You want to do what we did last time, or we could tie off a
rope, either way. You can definitely, yeah,
there's a there's a place or like you guys can work together
to, you know, attach a rope to any number of things and who's
who's wanting to jump down Kilbor or grimace with their
feather fall. Yeah, I think we can both
(01:01:33):
probably dive down. OK, both of you hop down, gently
float down. The map is a little deceptive.
To the right there it looks likethere's more to it, but you are
actually on a landing that is broken off and as you look down
(01:01:54):
in either direction it is just pitch black beneath you and
ahead you see a large ornate door.
This one is covered in the effigy of snakes and a the the
(01:02:14):
same kind of intertwining silversnakes on top of themselves,
turning into a single upper jaw and lower jaw, as well as other
snakes that are twisting and almost rising up the door.
And the longer you look at it, it almost feels like the metal
(01:02:36):
shapes on the door are moving, but you can't ever quite
pinpoint ever any one part of the door that looks like it's
moved. Are you sure there's snakes on
the other side? That'd be my guess.
You want to see if we can get the door open?
Not. Even you're you're welcome to
give it a try. Billboard yells up what he sees,
(01:02:58):
you know, and asks him. You know, you guys want to want
us to try to open this door or do you want us to come back up
there? Yeah, try and kick it open like
the other door. So let me get this straight.
On your guys's plane down below, there's snakes.
There's snake effigies on the door like it's it's the metal
engravings of snakes on the door.
(01:03:20):
They seem like they're moving the longer you look at it.
It almost looks like the snakes are writhing, but like when you
try to look hard at it and pinpoint any one part of the
door, nothing moves. You know Penelope's wearing a
necklace with snakes. I was thinking I was trying to
make a Samuel Jackson joke like Snakes on.
(01:03:42):
The plane. Oh.
I'm tired of the motherfucking snakes and this motherfucking
dungeon. Can we can we toss the LP down
to Kilbor? I'm sure they'll catch her.
We could just toss the Netflix. You don't have to pop Penelope.
Penelope like, because like, I'mI'm happy to climb down the
rope. Just just having such fun
(01:04:05):
ridges. Oh.
Man. Yeah, she she can go down the
rope or you can try the door. It's it's up to you guys.
You just have to tell me what you want to do.
You don't see that necklace? Doesn't ink burst?
OK, do you want Penelope to comedown or toss down the necklace?
You said it's pitch black, right?
(01:04:27):
Out outside, like if you look over the edges of this landing,
there is nothing below you. I would like.
To. I don't want to toss it I.
Want to extend my first round ofkindness to Penelope and ask her
for the necklace and then mage hand it to pass it down to those
guys. Sure, I can read you a bit.
Penelope takes it off and like, starts to hand it to you and she
(01:04:52):
looks at it and like, kind of like for a second she almost
goes like. But then she she hands it over
and yeah, easily hand it down. You may chant it down.
Grimace or Kilbar. Who's taking the necklace?
Your call brother. Either way don't matter.
I could take it I guess. Like Kyle, Who do you?
Hand I handed the kill board. His killer calves would look
(01:05:14):
really good with this necklace. Kilbar, you have the necklace.
Do you put it on? I kind of like wave it in my
hand in front of the door real quick, you know, to see, see if
there's any reaction before I just put it on.
Other than the like odd undulations of the door that you
(01:05:38):
feel like you kept catching in, like the peripheral peripheral
of your vision, nothing seems tohappen.
OK, do you want to try to? I want to.
Open the door. Yeah, push, pull on it, kind of
get a feel for it, you know? Yeah, I'll give her a good push.
You start to push on it and the hinges give a little squeak and
(01:06:01):
you you look and it budges a little bit as you push on it and
you see like some rust falling from the hinges of the door.
You can tell this door has not been used in a long time.
If you would like you can do a strength check if you really
want to try to muscle that door open.
Yeah, let's, let's put some shoulder into it here a 13.
(01:06:27):
That's good enough. You thump the door once and the
hinges screech as the door kicksopen.
Whoops, wrong way, the door kicks open and in front of you.
Kilbor, I need everyone to please roll initiative.
(01:06:53):
Who's snap we got one Grimace gets a six, so probably.
Going. To. 9.
I got a. 4 Billboard got a nine.You know.
OK. I'm going to tell you guys right
now, not the greatest lineup of initiatives here.
(01:07:17):
You guys tell those for us. We're saving the good roles for
the bosses. They're right.
Kilbor and T Dog, could each of you please tell me your
Dexterity scores? I'm a 12.
And T dog 13 OK, that means T dog you will be first on the
(01:07:41):
tie. I also need a Dexterity check
between Couch and McHale. Couches and 11.
I got 14. OK, that means on the tie of A4,
Mikhail will go 1st and therapist, you're right there
smack in the middle with A6. Are you tied with me, buddy?
(01:08:05):
What's that? I'm surprised someone tied with
my 4. Yeah, yeah, no. 2 fours, 2 nines
and a six. So with that, Kilbor kicks open
the door and Kilbor directly in front of you, you see a villager
who is standing in the center ofsome glowing runes, and as you
(01:08:32):
are standing there in the doorway, you see.
Come on, Matt. You you see that this opens up
into a large central chamber anddirectly in front of you is the
same gate guard wearing the fullplate armor with the full helmet
(01:08:55):
and metal visor. There's several sconces that are
lit and burning, and as you takea quick look around, you don't
have to do a check for this, butyou see there are more of the
villagers of the banquet who arestanding transfixed almost in
(01:09:17):
more glowing of glowing runes. And you see the guard turn, and
he shouts. Ah.
So the troublemakers have finally arrived and he's looks
at you and he pulls this great sword up off his back and he
(01:09:38):
says we've been waiting for you to try to cause some trouble to
the Great Duke's ritual. And believe it or not he rolled
a 19 + 2 for his initiative. He is going to end up going
first at a 21 kilbor. You're the only one who can see
(01:10:01):
the room ahead. So as you kick it open and
you're you're seeing all of thisbefore you are able to shout
anything to anyone standing there in the door frame, the
guard that had been at the gate at the beginning of this quest
begins to rush at you, great sword in hand, and he's going to
(01:10:24):
take a couple swings at you here, Kilbor.
Kilbor says. I'm going to knock you in the
head a little bit harder this time.
Says we'll see whose head gets knocked.
Does a 23 hit. Oh yes.
OK. And does a 18 hit. 18 is a tie.
(01:10:46):
Meets it beats it. OK, Kilbor, you are going to
take. How much else does Kilbor have?
It's never good 14 left. You have 14 health.
I might have overestimated my myguy here Kilbor.
(01:11:12):
You took 15 points of damage from his first swing.
Oh yeah. Yikes.
He says we'll see whose head gets knocked and he comes
running at you, takes one swing and it connects and gouges into
your collarbone and neck and youfeel a spray of blood spray up
(01:11:35):
your neck and face and Kilbor falls unconscious to the ground.
And the the steel clad guard none too unceremoniously steps
on Kilbur's body, steps over himthrough the doorway.
And now everyone else can see him as he approaches Grimace.
(01:12:02):
But that is all of his movement and he used his action.
So Grimace, you've got about we're we're just going to call
that a solid 10 feet between youand him and next person in the
turn order is going to be T dog.Yeah.
I guess I'm going to have to hithim with the base.
(01:12:23):
Yeah, you're up on the landing up above him.
Do you have any kind of like javelins or hatchets or any kind
of like ranged weapons? You would have the opportunity
to make a ranged attack down at him, or you can use your
movement to climb down the rope and try to engage him face to
face. I have a spear.
(01:12:45):
OK, the spear is a melee weapon.I'd let you roll dexterity if
you wanted to try and throw yourspear at him, but your spear
would then be gone until you like recovered it later.
Yeah, I guess I'm like. OK, so you're able to use your
movement, you climb down the 10 feet of rope and he is, yeah,
(01:13:12):
definitely close enough. If you want to run up and attack
him, you certainly can. Hey, that's a good hit.
Yeah, that that definitely connects.
Go ahead and roll that damage. A nice.
OK, yeah, you you deal 9 points of damage.
Your blow connects with the sideof his helmet and as it hits it,
(01:13:35):
just like how Kilbore had tappedhis helmet at the beginning of
this one shot, this ringing echoing sound shoots out and the
helmet flies off the shoulders and as you are looking you see
up out of the chest plate. The head of a snake curves
(01:14:00):
upward and takes the place, eyeslooking out as if it had ducked
down when the swing came and hitit in the head.
And the head came back up out ofthe chest plate armor.
And now this hooded cobra head is looking down at you with
glowing golden eyes and its tongue whips out and it's in
(01:14:22):
this like Slytherin speech goes ah, so all of you are down here
to try and interrupt the Duke. Yes, I knew it.
OK T Dog, I believe that is yourmovement and your action.
(01:14:43):
Do you have any kind of bonus action you would like to do?
I don't believe so. No, I'm out all.
Right next in the turn order is Kilbor.
Kilbor, you are on the ground. Could you please give me a death
saving throw? I rolled an 11.
(01:15:04):
That's a save. And it's it's a success.
Yes, that is a success, Kilbore. One down to to go.
You find yourself in the same place Grimace experienced.
You are standing in the cloudy, ashy Gray land in between life
(01:15:25):
and death, and you are standing on the edge of a river.
And as you look down, you can see this torrent of souls
pouring down the river. And as the river winds down at
the end of the line, you can seethis giant Spire raising up out
(01:15:46):
of this spinning Whirlpool. And the souls get down to the
giant Whirlpool and you can see some souls are spinning in
circles around it. You can see some souls spiral
upwards, spiraling up the pillar, and you see every now
and then a soul circles the pillar and is sucked downward
(01:16:07):
down the Whirlpool to the depthsbelow.
And standing on the other side of the river across from you,
you see the hooded figure of Mortivus, the God of death, and
he waves at you. But that is going to be your
turn. You got one save that is going
(01:16:28):
to bring us to grimace down there on the landing.
You got T dog in front of you between you and the gate guard
who is now revealed to be a giant snake wearing man made
armor. And just beyond the gate guard
is Kilbor laying on the ground bleeding.
(01:16:48):
And you can just make out ahead of you the sight of one of the
villagers that's in the runes inthe larger chamber up above and
grimace, you can see that they are slowly starting to float
upward. A.
Little upward, eh? Interesting.
OK, I'm going to say say hello to my little friend.
(01:17:12):
I'm going to throw the staff down and conjure up a giant
constrictor snake. Hell yeah.
That's one of those items that you just worked on.
I got, I believe that's a homeless action, isn't it?
That's an action, but as a bonusaction.
As a bonus action, I'll do my Hexblade curse on the feature.
(01:17:38):
Awesome. OK.
And the staff does turn into yeah, I believe it is a is it a
constrictor snake or is it a giant constrictor snake?
It's a giant constrictor snake, yeah.
So yeah. If you have a token for him,
I'll go ahead and attack with him.
Yeah, I was just going to get that pulled up on the map to
help here. And with Staff of the Python, on
(01:18:02):
your turn, you can mentally command the snake and decide
what action the snake takes. So yeah, it's an action to
summon it, which you did. OK, Yeah, you can just freely
command it. It's not a bonus action or
anything else. So you can Hexblade curse the
guard and command the snake. That's that's pretty awesome.
(01:18:27):
The constrictor snake hits the ground, looks back at you, and
then looks at the gate guard bares its fangs.
What command do you give your your constrictor snake?
Yeah, I'm going to have him go and constrict around him.
Oh, so actually it's it's a it'sa two hit.
(01:18:48):
And then secondarily, if he hitsthen he can do a a grappling
save and if he fails, the DC-16.If he fails, then he's grappled.
OK. So I think first he has to hit.
So what Yeah, what I'm looking at here, it says that on his
(01:19:09):
action he can bite and he can constrict.
So constricting, he he doesn't have to land the bite.
So he. Has to +6.
To hit, I can roll that, or if Iwould like to roll it, you are
certainly welcome to. I'll just roll, I'll roll using
my rate tier because it's a + 5 and then we just add +1 to that
(01:19:31):
or OK, so he gets oh, Nat 20. Holy crap, 2026 total?
That's absolutely a hit roll crit damage.
All right, let's see. That's 2D8 I believe.
(01:19:51):
Hold. On yeah, I've got it here.
So the the giant constrictor snake, that's actually going to
be 4 D 6 + 4. Let's see.
Dude, and I gave you the staff. Holy crap.
OK, here we go. Oh my goodness.
OK, 16 + 4. So 20 points of I guess that's
(01:20:16):
bludgeoning damage. Dang.
That's. That's.
Pretty darn good for your snake. And, oh, he's got to make a
save. DC-16 versus grab, OK.
Yeah, your snake like and the snake guard both are hissing and
(01:20:40):
and they're like hissing at eachother in their different ways as
your constrictor snake bites down on the neck of the actual
snake, it screeches. And yeah, he's going to make his
saving throw here. He rolled a 13 + 4 for a 17, but
(01:21:04):
you know. What?
You know what though? You crit hit with that.
I'm I'm going to fudge it. I'm going to say that the
constrictor snake wraps around him anyway, and that gate guard
is fully constricted by your snake.
That's that's too badass. I'm I'm giving it to to him and
(01:21:24):
to you. And he is also hexblade cursed.
So what does the Hexblade curseddo for him?
I think that only technically counts did.
I hit him OK, so that that'll come back.
Around for you? Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. What a turbine.
For. This I'm going to I'm going to
use my movement to just come down to the bottom here so I can
(01:21:46):
start shooting. OK, Eldridge Blast.
Send them later and I'm done. Yeah, you, you put some distance
between the two of you that's going to bring us to Mikhail.
Mikhail, you're still up in the upper landing and you can see
that staff turned into a giant constrictor snake wrap around
(01:22:06):
the gate guard and is biting into his neck.
The floor is yours. What would Mikhail like to do?
Premise Is that your staff or are you just unhappy to see this
gate guard? It's both actually.
Oh OK how far is couch and T dogfrom each other Let.
Me take a look here. I mean like you're, you guys are
(01:22:29):
like 10 feet up and about. We'll just call it 10 feet
across. Again, I'm, I'm not doing too
much arithmetic. I'm just going to call it 20
feet away. OK, can I tell at a glance if
this guardian is like bloodied or worse for wear?
Yeah, he definitely looks hurt. That constrictor snake is like
(01:22:50):
digging its fangs into his neck. He's not looking awesome.
He's got some health left, but he's he's hurt.
OK, I'd like to make my way downand then as a bonus action I'd
like to cast Healing Word on Kilbore.
Hell yeah. So you're jumping, you're going
(01:23:12):
down the rope down to the landing, are you?
Because the gate guard is constricted, he does not get
opportunity attacks. Are you running past him to
Kilbor? I could cast that within 30
feet, so I want to be close to the Guardian.
If I can position myself betweenmyself and Kilbor, that'd be
ideal. Yeah, you got it.
(01:23:33):
So you're like in the door framebetween the gate guard.
You're now standing behind him. Kilbor is in the larger
antechamber behind you. Yeah, Roll your healing.
Rolled it. And it's going to be 8 points,
which should bring him up as well, right?
Yeah, absolutely, Kilbor, you are back awake with eight points
(01:23:55):
of health and. I say rise, let's go.
Nice. Kilbor you, you pop right up.
Whoa, whoa, what just happened? He did the world's unfunniest
knock knock joke. Can I safely take a swing at him
(01:24:18):
with my irregular action and nothurt the snake?
Well, the big snake not not. The Yeah Was your healing a
bonus action? Yep, healing words a bonus.
Action it sure is. Yeah, absolutely.
You can take a swing at him. I got a 19 to.
That that hits. And I got a 5.
(01:24:41):
OK, also swinging A Mace. You know, you, you talk about
blunt weapons against heavy armor.
You slam into the the back of the plate mail of the snake gate
guard and you see the armor bends inward and he's pinching
in and the gate guard arches hisback and is hissing like
(01:25:09):
maniacally in pain, still on hisfeet.
But yeah, you guys have done a surprising amount of damage to
him very quickly. There's all that snake.
Snakes are weak against snakes. We learned that from Pokémon.
Right. Yeah, poison against poison or
(01:25:31):
something like that. Dragon versus Dragon.
Yeah, that's it. Yeah.
Mikhail, anything else with yourturn there?
Oh Nope, I I'm spent. OK, that's going to bring us to
Couch. Couch.
What you got going, buddy? Well, first I want to tell
(01:25:51):
Penelope that she's safe up here.
There's doors on either side andwe have the necklace so she's
completely normal. Penelope looks at you couch and
she goes No I I'm in this fight too.
Well, that's going to be on you,but first I'm going to climb
down this rope and get down there to help my team.
(01:26:14):
She says I'm right behind your couch.
Yeah. You slide down.
You have enough movement to go up to the gate guard if you
would like to attack him. It looks a little crowded on the
map here, but you also have because he's constricted he you
are able to freely move past himif you would like, into the
(01:26:38):
chamber itself. Can I go?
Past Kilbor if you want to run in there.
I want to get a swing in at him but can I go past him 5 feet and
then I can make a? Swing at him.
Yeah, absolutely. Go ahead and make that attack
roll. A 10 + 515.
(01:26:59):
A 15 is a miss. Well, that was a bummer.
I also forgot to rage, which is as a bonus.
Yeah, you can start raging as a bonus action.
You can rage, yeah. Absolutely.
Do you want? To stay.
There next to Mikhail in the door frame attacking the gate
guard. Or do you want to run past him
and Kilbor further? Into the room, Yeah, I want to
(01:27:21):
run as far as I can, whatever. Yeah, that'll get you about
halfway from the door to the first villager who's floating in
the glowing runes, and that's going to bring us to Penelope.
White Couch. White Couch.
Yeah, right. Sorry I missed guys.
(01:27:41):
He's up to you. Penelope slides down the rope.
She falls to the landing next toT Dog.
She looks back and forth and she's holding her little carving
knife in her hand. And she goes, yeah, yeah, we, we
(01:28:02):
have to end this dude. We got to end this guy.
We, we have to stop this madness, Whatever's happening.
And she sees the calm in her head and she's just going to
copy what Couch did. She's going to run past.
You know what, though? She recognizes the gate guard.
This is the same one that, like, scolded her and, like, gave her
a hard time in our previous session.
(01:28:23):
She's going to take a stab at him because why the fuck not?
Oh, he goes in with the dagger. She rolled US 6.
The dagger scrapes along the armor and she just says yeah,
yeah, fuck it, you guys got him.And she, she runs past into the
(01:28:45):
antechamber and she's there nextto you couch deeper in the
chamber. And that is gonna bring us to
the top of the turn order. When did she get a dagger or was
it like a kitchen knife? Yeah, it's like a kitchen knife.
Like she just had like this paring knife that like was for
the food and like the appetizersand things.
Like all of the staff were just carrying little like paring
(01:29:09):
knives. I just made that decision at
some point, so. I like that.
That's fun. Yeah, come at me in the comments
here at the top of the order. Couch and Penelope, I guess you
Couch, are able to see one of the commoners, the one that's
(01:29:33):
directly there in front of you is floating up off the ground.
And before the turn begins, you see that commoners, You see
puncture marks appear suddenly on the side of their neck, as
though bitten by some spectral being.
And blood sprays out from that villager's neck, and blood
(01:29:58):
sprays across the floor, touching the glowing runes
beneath it. And that villager slumps,
hanging in the air, dead. That's no good.
And you can see off to the right, deeper into the chamber,
another villager who was there at the dinner party is also
(01:30:20):
beginning to float upward at thetop of the turn order.
It is the gate guard. Gate guard.
He has to try and break free of the grapple.
I believe that was ADC 16 Grimace.
Yeah. OK our our boy there he rolled a
5 + 4 for a nine so he is still grappled.
(01:30:46):
So while grappled his speed is 0so he can't move.
He. Gets disadvantage on any attacks
made against anyone other than the grappler.
Right, let me see here. So yeah, he's he's going to take
a swing at the snake. Yeah.
(01:31:06):
So he's got 2 attacks, he's going to make one attack against
the constrictor snake, and he's going to make one attack against
T dog with disadvantage. So first he swings at the snake.
Literally rolled a gnat. 1A7 does not hit the giant snake
whose armor. Is did he bite his own tail?
(01:31:28):
Yeah. He.
He he swings and accidentally like slices at his own boot,
he's going to make another attack with disadvantage against
T dog. He rolled a another gnat 1 and
A7, but we're taking the Nat one.
(01:31:48):
Yeah, the dude's constricted andhe can't do shit with his arms.
That giant constrictor snake's wrapped around him.
That's the end of his turn. And and you know what, Grimace?
I apologize. I I did not give you the ability
to do the damage for the constricting.
(01:32:10):
Yeah, that's what I had mentioned before, but it's all
good, I mean. No, that's on me.
I apologize. Please you waive the other ones.
I think it, I think it, it, it evens out.
No way man, your your staff of your Python staff is is owning
this fight. Go ahead roll 2D8 as your giant
constrictor tightens around thisother snake.
(01:32:32):
It's 2D8 plus. 4. All right, we got nice
1213405016. Total you see the constrictor
snake Titan around the gate guard and the armor bends and
creaks and snaps inward and the the snake hisses and looks at
(01:32:53):
each of you and he says no, you can't stop the Duke.
You can't stop the ritual. It's and he's worked so hard for
this. You have to stop.
You should all go back. You should all just go back up
the way you came. Just go back up to the banquet
and enjoy some dinner. Right?
Just go up and enjoy a nice hot dinner.
How? How about you all just leave?
Yeah. Not a chance.
(01:33:13):
Like what are you high? Seems kind of nice he.
Hisses and he goes, no, really, you can all just go back the way
you came. T dog, it's your turn.
T dog. The gate guard looks at you
there standing in front of him. He goes, yeah, wouldn't you like
that? Like a nice hot loaf of bread.
A chance. All right.
What would T dog like to do? How much health does he have
(01:33:36):
left? He's hurt.
He he's pretty hurt. OK, I'm going to hit him with a
mint. Yeah, let's go.
We got a. 15 + 5. That's a hit Dirty 23. +3.
Mint. The gate guard is on death's
door. He is still standing as you club
(01:33:58):
him once across the head. His eyes cross and he, like you,
knock at one of his Viper thingsout of his mouth and he looks
down at you and goes, OK, OK. I hear a loaf of bread, some
wine and some soup. How about that?
You, you just stop hitting me and you all just turn around and
(01:34:20):
go go get some hot food, Yeah. Chance.
And then I think I'm going to run over by doubt.
All right, you run past him. T dog, I believe your speed is
about 30 feet. I believe that's correct.
Yeah, you're you're able to run up deeper into the chamber.
Now, I do need to apologize to you, the players, because the
(01:34:45):
map is just a little misleading to what I had envisioned for the
end of this. So as you run deeper in, you are
seeing more of the braziers lit up and you're seeing more
villagers in this large antechamber who are standing in
their rooms. There's one villager to your
(01:35:08):
immediate right. They are about, you know, 20
feet away from you there, and they are starting to float
upward like the first one did. And in the center of the room,
you can see across from you are more sconces that are lit up.
(01:35:30):
And as you're running in, you can see that there are a total
of 6 more villagers standing in symbols on the floor.
Five of them are standing flat on the ground, and one of them
is beginning to float. And the blood from the first one
that was spilled from the first villager who was killed is
(01:35:56):
trickling downward towards the center of the antechamber.
And with you running in, you areable to see the Duke standing in
the center of the room. And he is standing raised up on
a platform that's about 10 feet high.
And you can see now that the blood is pooling down towards
(01:36:19):
the platform and then against gravity.
The blood from that first villager is now creeping up
along some runnels of the platform in the center of the
room towards the Duke who is standing there.
The Duke is also floating in place, the dark elf still
wearing his fancy attire from the night before.
(01:36:42):
His head is back and his eyes are white and glossed over.
You get the sense he's not seeing or hearing anything here
that's happening. And on the far side of the
antechamber, you see a number ofother guards like the gate guard
(01:37:08):
are making their they they are on the far side of the
antechamber, and they've spottedyou and heard the commotion
finally, OK. This is an awesome map.
I know that was a mouthful. I apologize.
Thank you. Yeah, this map was pre made.
I I hand selected it because it really fit what I was trying to
(01:37:31):
make for this one shot. So I can't take credit for this.
This was a premade map that was offered up.
But yeah, so you you have view vision now of the entire chamber
and those guards on the far side.
T dog. OK, let's see who is next here
(01:37:53):
in the turn order. It's going to be Kilbor,
recently resurrected Kilbor. What are you up to bud?
Well, I think I'm going to make good on my promise and knock
this gate guard around a little bit, finish him off.
Yeah, make that attack roll. And I believe you do it with
(01:38:14):
advantage because he's grappled.I I forgot that.
OK. I'm glad it's with advantage.
We'll do a 19. Yeah, 19 will hit.
So I just want to take my long sword and like try to shove it
down his armor. Roll me some damage there,
there's a real chance you could kill him here. 12. 12 damage.
(01:38:36):
Yeah. Tell us all how.
You. Kill the gate guard.
OK, so Kilbor just like gently walks over there and as he's
walking over there, he's just saying I told you, I told you
I'm going to knock you around and then I.
No, I killed you. I shoved that long sword down
(01:39:00):
his neck and his armor and just give her a good twist.
Brutal the giant constrictor snake.
Let's go. And the gate guard staggers
once, looks at you all and says but don't you want hot soup and
(01:39:21):
staggers off the edge, falling into the abyss below.
Snake soup, OK. Kilbore, you still have your
movement and bonus action. What would you like to do?
Oh, I'd like to, actually. Yeah.
(01:39:41):
I'd like to try to get as close to the commoner that's starting
to float as I can, and if I could use a bonus action to do
maybe some acrobatics to get to her and maybe like knock her out
of the circle. OK, can I do that?
(01:40:01):
So you can absolutely use your movement.
The person is about 40 feet away.
I believe your movement is 30 or35.
Yes, 30. So you would be able to get
almost up to the second commonerthere, the one that's at the
3:00 mark in the antechamber. You guys are all coming in from
(01:40:25):
the what would that be like the the 5:00?
So you're all coming in from the5:00 angle.
You're able to move past the dead commoner, jump over the
runes and make your way halfway to the commoner who has begun to
float. And as you get kind of like
(01:40:46):
within range, it's a man in the attire of the village that you
had all come from, one of the people of Bracken's Hollow.
And he looks down at you and he says, hey, hey, help me, You got
(01:41:07):
to save me. I'm trying.
Yeah, you are in the process of running towards him, but you are
not quite able to reach him thisturn because you did use your
action to kill the gate guard. Unless you have a bonus action
you want to do that is going to bring us to grimace.
(01:41:29):
That's all I got. All right, Grimace, you're
you're down there at the far endof the landing.
You're about 50 feet away from the first dead villager.
And if you were also trying to run all the way, you're you're
about 75 feet from the the floating villager from your
current position. OK, let's see.
(01:41:53):
Think. OK.
I'll, I'll. I'll dash.
Yeah. What?
Is that'll give me about 30s to be 60 feet, right?
Absolutely. So you're able to.
Let me see here. Basically, I can get up to that
(01:42:13):
top of that, that ruin thing. Yep, you're you're going to get
up there right next to T dog, just a little before Kilbor.
You just head down. You start sprinting.
High off Warlock in his robes just darts past the constrictor
snake and the Kyle. You can issue a command to your
(01:42:35):
constrictor snake as well. Yeah, as I run by, I'll be like,
well, let me. OK.
And then I'll have him come up here kind of like standing right
in front of me. You got it.
On the map when he said follow me, the snake like moved at the
same time as he said that. It was it was beautifully timed.
Yeah. Grimace and his giant
(01:42:56):
constrictor Snake slither past Mikhail and Couch Penelope and
the dead commoner and are running into the antechamber.
Grimace, you're seeing the same thing as everyone else.
The Duke is up on the dais about10 feet up off the ground.
He's floating in the air and you're seeing the same rivulets
of blood from the first commonertrickling towards the center and
(01:43:19):
then moving upward, and you haveused your action and your
movement. Do you have any kind of bonus
action you would like to use? No, but I do yell as I'm running
past to everybody to say let's get these commoners off, off the
ruins. I think that's what's going to
give them power if they stay on there.
(01:43:40):
So try to save the commoners. Not a bad idea, Mikhail.
That brings us to you, Sir. OK, I'd like to make my way in
and as my action I would like todo emboldening bond on T dog and
couch. So as an action I choose up to 2
(01:44:02):
willing creatures that are within 30 feet of me and they
are within 30 feet when I first start my turn.
So for the next 10 minutes they have a magical bonds and you're
best friends now guys. But as long as they're within 30
feet of another once per turn they can roll AD 4 and add it to
any attack roll, ability check or saving throw they make.
(01:44:26):
So this replenishes every turn. Awesome.
So yeah, you guys keep that in mind.
You get to add AD 4. Right.
And then I'm not too close to anyone.
What's the closest I could get to a commoner that's not?
Since that that spell I assume was an action.
Correct. Yeah.
(01:44:47):
So you are 30 feet from the doorto where you are now, and you
are about 1015 feet away from the next closest commoner at
that 3:00 mark. OK.
In which case I'll just ready myself and that's that's all OK.
Couch that brings us brings us to you, Sir.
(01:45:10):
Is the already dead commoner still bleeding out or are they
all of their blood done? That you know what?
I I like that line of thinking. I'll say that they are still
bleeding from the neck. Here's what we'll do Couch.
(01:45:32):
Give me a Arcana check. Forget you can add AD. 4 to it
if you need to. I'm going to need to a 4 + -, 1
A 3 and the D4 was a 2 so A5 total.
With a five you don't know whichis more important, the the
(01:45:56):
sacrifice itself as an action orthe quantity of blood you you do
not know. Is there like as I run by them?
Is there any action I can take to just knock them away anyways
or try? I would say that you could use a
(01:46:20):
bonus action to like drag them like out of the runes if you
wanted. Yeah, I'll use a little bit of
movement to get up to them and then bonus action to pull them
out. Yeah, where do you which, which
direction do you pull them to? Or the back door there on the
5:00. They slide back further away.
(01:46:43):
They are still bleeding out and with a cursory glance you do see
they are still bleeding and the blood is still flowing towards
the center, but it's got farther.
It has to go. Load it down at least.
So how much more can I move? So with your regular movement,
(01:47:04):
you can get up there next to Mikhail and Kilbor, and you
could, if you wanted to, use your action to dash, and you
would be able to dash the rest of the distance towards the
villager who's at that 3:00 mark.
Or you could make your way because your movement is 30.
I believe you could make it almost to the villager who's at
(01:47:30):
the 1:00 placement on the map. Can a dash be comboed with like
a strander push? I will allow it with an
athletics check. Let's I, I'm going to make it
roll something, but I'll I'll make it athletics.
Goodness, a 6 + 5 for an 11. And I believe you can still add
(01:47:51):
AD 4 to that, right? I don't know.
I had a good one, a four, so a bowl of 15.
I set the DC at 14, so with a 15you guys watch couch.
The barbarian goes barrelling past, drags 1 commoner with one
hand, just Yanks them back out of the ruins, runs weaving
(01:48:14):
through everybody and just full on shoulder checks into one of
the commoners that's floating inthe air and that person's like.
Hey, hey. Yeah, hell.
Wait, no, slow down. Not so hard.
And you just slam into them and yeah, they careen through the
(01:48:35):
air and they land on the ground precariously close to the edge,
but out of the runes that does as you shoulder check into them.
You have pushed them out, but you couch are now in the runes.
Where's it? That's gonna bring us to the top
(01:48:59):
of the turn order at the top here as a layer action.
You guys haven't really, for your first time players, you
haven't really dealt with layer actions.
Layer actions are something thathappens at the top of every
round at the top of initiative. You you did experience one layer
action when the first villager suddenly died in the rooms they
(01:49:22):
were floating in. Here at the top of the turn
order again, the Duke is lookingup at the ceiling, his eyes
white and glossed over. And then he lifts his head and
he looks down to you couch whereyou're in those rooms.
And you all can hear the Duke inthis booming voice that's too
(01:49:43):
loud for his normal voice, but there's something amplifying it.
And in a voice more than his own, you hear him say, ah, no
matter. This is a far more appealing
blood sacrifice. And couch.
You feel the ground lift out from under you as you begin to
(01:50:08):
float in the air. And the Duke.
And he says, yes, my Lord, they're interfering.
I must do this more quickly. Guards, you must stop them, and
I'm gonna roll some initiative for some more guards who are now
(01:50:31):
in the fight here in the chamberwith you all.
Now that we're here, are we ableto see what weapons they have on
them? Yeah, you're you are able to see
these other guards are running at you with Spears in their
hands. OK.
At the top of the turn order thegate guard is dead and with a
(01:50:57):
with a nine T dog you're first boy yeah, these guys were old
garbage initiative T dog you're first What what would T dog like
to do I. Think I'm gonna try to set out.
I'm gonna run over. Dad.
Absolutely. You are about 15 feet away.
(01:51:19):
You definitely have enough movement to run up there are are
you? I'm going to ask for another
athletics check as you like grabonto his like hand or foot and
are trying to like pull him out of the runes.
Give me an athletics check. It's the same DC of a 14.
I got a 19 + 2. 20. One, yeah, you absolutely pull
(01:51:42):
Couch out of the runes and you also manage to pull yourself
free of this almost like a gravitational pull into the
runes. You're able to get yourself out
as well, and both of you are free from the runes.
You still have 15 feet of movement that would get you
(01:52:03):
about halfway to the next villager who's at that 1:00 mark
if you would like to continue tomake your way around the
antechamber. Yeah, let's go ahead of that.
OK, that's going to bring you toright about the 2:00 place and
you can it's up to you. You can do use your action to do
(01:52:28):
what couch did and dash into thenext commoner and try to knock
them out of the runes. Or you could if you wanted
instead try to do some kind of ranged attack.
It is up to you. I'm.
Gonna follow couch, I wanna dashover there.
OK, give me that athletics checkas you as you tackle into the
(01:52:49):
villager at the 1:00 mark in in the ruins there.
That'll do it. You same thing like that
villager, like she sees you coming and she's like, OK, and
she braces herself and you slam her out of the ruins.
And yeah, with an 18, I'm going to say like you, you also have
(01:53:12):
just enough movement there and everything else to just be right
on the edge of the runes. You're not quite in it.
Yeah. So that that's two villagers
pulled out. T dog.
Anything else buddy? I think that's going to end my
turn. OK, Kilbor, that brings us to
(01:53:34):
you, Sir. All right, so in this Chamber,
can I go over the snake head? Is that a wall or?
It. It is, yeah.
So on the map, it looks like thehead of a snake, and that is the
shape that the platform is that the Duke is standing on top of.
It's 10 feet up. So working together with another
(01:53:57):
person, you could try to climb it, or it would be a more
difficult athletics check to tryand climb it yourself, or you
can use your movement trying to go around it like everyone else.
Got you. It is your call.
I think I'm going to go. I'm going to run over there by T
dog. Yeah, you could use your
(01:54:20):
movement to get up there just a little behind T dog at that 1:00
mark. Yeah, I want to try to get,
Yeah, some of you, at least thatone GAR.
And I think I'm going to use my ring here.
Oh my God, you're green. I'm going to.
I'm polishing it up right now. Will the commoner stay safe?
(01:54:45):
Yeah, what it, what is the rangeon the what?
What is like the trigger range for the ORB?
When a creature other than you comes within 5 feet of the
sphere, the sphere discharges lightning at that creature and
then disappears. OK.
Creature as anything. Yeah, I'm gonna be a little mean
(01:55:05):
here, and I'm gonna tell you 30 feet away from you, it's right
in front of the guard. We're just gonna call him Guard
one. Another full suit of armor
that's running at you. And if you place an orb directly
in front of that guard, I might,I might allow you an arcana
(01:55:27):
check to try and just get it. It's it's right on the edge of
hitting the the villager. I tell you what.
If you want to risk, I'll make it easy, roll for it.
I'll tell it, I'll, I'll make it, I'll make it easy on you.
Because the dice have been really mean to me lately and I'm
just going to plop that ball like right in the middle right
(01:55:47):
now, a little. Just basically right in between
there, but far enough away from the commoner that it's not going
to hit her, but when the guard moves it's going to snap him.
OK. So yeah, you you can.
Are you dropping one or two? How many?
How many do you want to place? What do you guys think?
(01:56:11):
1 is 4 D 12/2 is 5D4. 4D12 should be 20, right?
14D12 could take you take one ofthem out.
If I put 2 out there, it could it could damage two of them, or
two of them might take one of them out.
Yeah, because there are. Multiple.
(01:56:33):
I'll just save some for you guys.
We'll put one. OK.
Yep. There you go.
And, and do you like where that's placed there just kind of
to the left of the the first guard, further away from the
villager? As long as it don't touch the
commoner, that's my only thing. But yeah that looks good.
The. Villager from being hit.
That looks good. You got it.
(01:56:54):
OK, so that was your bonus action to move it across the map
there to there you've used your movement to run up.
I think technically is. Is it an action to some of the
orb or a bonus action? So 2 charges as an action.
OK, so it it was your action then to get it on the map.
(01:57:15):
So yeah, I'm done. Anything with your bonus action?
OK, you that, that's, that's a good turn.
OK, that that is going to bring us to that guard #1 He is the
next in the initiative and you've placed that electric ball
(01:57:37):
right in front of him. OK, I'm going to have him do a
quick intelligence check. He literally rolled A gnat one.
Oh my God. It's all about the net once the
night. He lowers his spear and he
charges you. Kilbor runs right through your
electric orb. Roll that damage. 32.
(01:58:07):
That armor lights up in an explosion of heat and
electricity and you see almost like a cartoon X-ray of a snake
skeleton in the armor lights up and flashes several times and
the guard one falls to the ground fully dead.
Nice. Overkill.
(01:58:29):
The Villager. Who's in that room?
Can't move, but they go. Yeah, take that.
You, you, you, you, piece of you, you upper class piece of
shit. You, you noble.
Yeah, take that. Get burned.
Get get electrocuted. OK, well that's that's my first
guard's turn and the Duke yells fool, what were you thinking?
(01:58:51):
You slay the sacrifices and grimace that's going to bring us
to you. Alrighty, I'm going to command
my snake snake to come up and try to grapple him.
Yeah, strip around him, I shouldsay.
Let's do just a quick check hereto see if the.
(01:59:19):
I mean, it's a giant constrictorsnake.
They are big. Hold on.
Yeah, it's a huge beast. Yeah.
I I'm gonna say it's got no problem being huge.
It it slithers upward along the wall and gets to that upper dais
there next to the Duke and. Yeah, go ahead and roll.
(01:59:47):
I'll do the same thing, Rib. Pure attack, add 1, so 21 total.
That should hit. Yeah, well, what we'll do,
that's 2D8 damage plus. I think it was 4.
Right, it's not great damage, so8 total damage and then he can
(02:00:12):
do ADC 16 save or be grapple it.OK, I'm gonna.
Roll for the Duke. He rolled a 19 so he he does
kick away the the constrictor snake away from him and perhaps
(02:00:33):
it is not able to constrict around him but it can still make
the bite attack OK. All right.
Is that? Is that it for the snake or?
The snake. The snake can still make a a
chance to hit him with a bite. It's a + 60.
Oh, OK. All right.
So I'll do the same thing. Go.
(02:00:57):
So 16 total. That is an S.
OK, and then if it's my turn, I will cast Hex on the Duke.
OK, that is a bonus action. Yeah.
And there I don't think there's any kind of save for that,
right. He just has the the hex blade on
(02:01:20):
him. You do?
Yeah. This is the curse of the Hex.
Yeah. And so anytime he's hit, I
think, by me. Let's see.
Yeah, for hex blade. Yeah, whenever you hit, whenever
you hit the target, then he doesan additional it does it does
additional 1D6 necrotic damage and then the target has
(02:01:45):
disadvantage on ability checks made with the chosen ability.
So OK with that I will Eldridge blast him.
OK, yeah, go ahead and roll through your Eldridge Blast 22.
21 to hit. Yeah, that's a hit.
And then he'll do 9 damage and then another because he was hit.
(02:02:08):
Now he does another D6 necrotic,so another 6-6 necrotic in in
addition. So 15 total.
Day. Yeah, OK yeah, 15 damage to the
Duke. The elder's blast hits him and
he waves an arm angrily and looks down and he says no, my
(02:02:31):
Lord will not allow this ritual to be halted.
I have worked too long to make this happen, but yeah, 15 points
of damage to the Duke. And.
Then I'm going to run over here and that's it for me.
All righty, that is going to bring us to Mikhail.
(02:02:53):
Hello. Hello Mikhail, What is our
cleric thinking of doing? Oh.
I see everyone's going after commoners and the like.
Yeah, I would like to make my way as N Actually, I can't reach
anything from where I'm at. Everyone seems to be doing what
(02:03:15):
they're doing already. If you were to move and dash,
you could reach the villager at that 12:00 mark in the
antechamber. There's a guard close to him,
right? He's dead.
OK. If I were to go into that
position, no, that that doesn't make sense.
If I were to go N 30, could you put me on the map?
(02:03:35):
Yeah. So 30 feet, that's going to get
you up there like next to Kilborat kind of the 1:00 mark.
And then how far am I to the closest garden next to me?
The. Closest.
Guard. That's alive, I should say.
Yeah, the the living one, he's about 35 feet away.
(02:03:57):
And he's. Got a line of sight on him.
I'd like to cast Toll the Dead, which has a range of 60 feet.
Absolutely. And for that one, they need to
beat a Wisdom thirteen save. I'm going to tell you right now,
these guys are not very wise. Yeah, they'd be following us and
(02:04:17):
not the Duke if they were. What?
What was the save on it? 13.
OK, he rolled a 14 -, 2 for a 12.
Nice. So.
Roll that damage. It's going to be 1 necrotic
damage. Yeah, he he hisses angrily as
(02:04:40):
you hit him with some necrotic damage.
We'll see now they're injured, so the next time I told the dead
it's AD 12 instead of AD 8. Absolutely.
The church bells of your temple begin to ring across the
antechamber, and the Duke immediately raises his hands to
his ears, trying to block out the sound.
(02:05:01):
OK, do I recall any of my alliesbeing worse for wear?
I think kill. Boy, I'm not an 8 out of 810.
Hurt person? Yeah.
Yeah. OK, I'd like to cast Sanctuary
as a bonus action. So I'm warding a creature and
(02:05:24):
then until the spell ends, any creature who targets the worded
creature with an attack or harmful spell must first make a
Wisdom saving throw, and on a failed save they must choose a
new target or lose the attacker spell.
So if the worded creature makes an attack, casts a spell that
affects an enemy, or deals damage to another creature, the
spell ends. So it only works for as long as
(02:05:46):
they don't take an aggressive action towards someone.
OK, awesome. Yeah.
So Kilbar, you have Sanctuary cast on you.
Good stuff, Mikhail. Anything else that'll be on with
your turn there. Yeah, well done.
Job's done. OK.
(02:06:07):
Couch the Barbarian. That brings us to you, man.
Is it possible to climb the walland get up with the snake and
do? It would be an athletics check
for you to climb it. Climbing up this stone platform.
It is difficult, but it can be done.
(02:06:29):
I would let you try with a bonusaction.
Yes, you said athletics. Yep.
Now, which rolls a 17 + 5 A 22. Yeah, couch like you don't even
look for grip holds you just like punch your fists into the
platform, breaking the stone andare climbing your way up and
(02:06:53):
yeah, you're you're able to get up there and you can use the
rest of your movement to get right up there next to the Duke.
Yes. Close enough to a 10.
He shouts down at you. Fool, you're ruining everything.
And am I still raged or I need to?
I'll say you're still in a rage.Yeah, punching the wall just
(02:07:14):
just helped get your blood going.
Always do raging so click hit BC.
Yeah, to make your attack roll. 17 + 5 A 22.
That'll hit. A 6 + 3 nine And what's Rage +2?
+2 so 11 You watch as you bring your great acts around.
(02:07:39):
You see the Dukes not wearing like any immediately apparent
armor, and you see your great axe hits this almost kind of
like shimmering barrier that's just in front of his body, and
the axe cuts through it and hitsthe Duke, slicing him.
Some of his own blood falls to the center of the diet, the
(02:08:00):
platform where he's floating, and his blood begins to mix with
the blood of the first villager that was sacrificed in the in
the ruins, both of them pooling together in the center beneath
his feet where he is still floating.
He's floating about 5 feet up off the ground, similar to how
the villagers were. Welcome to your own sacrifice.
(02:08:23):
He looks down at you. Cat, He goes.
You don't know anything about what's going on here.
OK, that's going to bring us to one of the guards.
He shouts at them to kill the sacrifices.
One of them does run up to one of the commoners, one of the
(02:08:45):
villagers at the 9:00 mark and the guard is going to take a
swing with advantage against a villager who is trapped in place
in the power of the rune. It definitely hits and rolled A1
on the damage. Somehow that commoner is still
(02:09:09):
alive as the guard stabs into them.
Once with the spear, the other guard runs to the 12:00 position
at the northernmost end of the room.
And they are also going to swingat the villager doing what the
Duke told them to do, killing the sacrifices.
(02:09:30):
And so we're going to roll for him.
He definitely hit and Oh my I guys, I am rolling garbage
garbage on these rolls. Another one.
It was a 2 + 1. That villager is still alive.
(02:09:51):
The guard stabs into the villager at 12:00, but that
villager screams out but he is still alive, grabbing the spear.
That brings us to the top of theturn order.
The Duke is going to do a couplethings as a layer action.
The villager. He looks around at all of the
(02:10:15):
different villagers and you, theheroes who are interrupting his
plants. He looks to the villager.
At the 11:00 mark that villager begins to float up off the
ground. As he points at them, he also is
going to spend his action. He looks down at the giant
Constrictor Snake and grimace. He is going to cast Dispell on
(02:10:40):
your staff and. The the boss is doing like ADC
check right? He's going to, yeah.
And the staff of the Python, it's, it's a item that turns
into a creature. It's it's interesting because
it's not a spell necessarily. So would that just mean the
(02:11:01):
snake goes back, turns back intointo the staff?
It would so I'm going to have him roll ADC.
Check here to see if he turns itback into a staff.
He did get a 19. I I don't have any hard set
rules for this, but I I do feel like a 19 would probably be high
(02:11:24):
enough to dispel the snake. OK.
So your staff is not lost or shattered or anything, it just
turns back. Into.
A staff. And just falls to the galantes.
Yep. Yep.
OK. That's it for the Duke, though.
That's all he can do. OK.
OK, that brings us back to the top of the the turn order.
(02:11:48):
The Duke is looking around and he says no, I need more of the
blood guards. Kill the villagers, don't just
stab them. And T dog, that brings us to
you. Oh, I guess.
I'm going to want to move towards some other guards.
Right. You certainly can.
(02:12:09):
You're you've got one guard that's there at the 12:00.
They are about 30 feet away fromyou, so you could easily run up
to them and and make an attack on them all.
Right, that's when I want to go in a.
Mace. Yeah, roll that attack roll.
I got a 13, is that a hit? 13 is a miss.
(02:12:30):
These guys aren't quite as toughas the gate guard, but they are
more than 13. As a reminder, T dog can roll
the D4 on any attack, so. You can add that.
D4 to your. Attack Absolutely.
All right, that was according. To the 7th 1. 16 is a hit roll
(02:12:50):
damage Mikhail. Awesome catch there.
Thank you. It's AT dog and couch.
Remember you can do that once per turn I.
Got arm damage. Awesome.
Yeah, you clubbed this guy once.He is still standing.
You also knock his helmet off and it is another snake in the
(02:13:11):
guard armor still standing. But he he's definitely skinnier
and wimpier looking than the gate guard was the guys that the
guy that you guys first contended with.
I think that's going to aim my current name.
All right, Kilbore, that that brings us to you all.
(02:13:32):
Right, let's see, I think what'sgoing on with this villager and
Wyatt again. The villager?
Which one? The one in between the two
guards 1 he pointed at. The one at 12:00 has been
stabbed once, but that guard is now dealing with T dog.
Oh, that one is floating off theground.
(02:13:52):
The villager at 11:00 is floating in the sacrificial
manner that the first two started to float.
OK. And Kilbor, from your current
place you are about 50 feet away, so you could use your
movement and your action if you also wanted to dash and tackle
(02:14:12):
that villager out of the circle.Up to you.
They don't have a path behind them or beside them to save
them. I wouldn't knock.
Them off the edge, I I would saythat you're able to they they
would fall on the on the platform.
OK, I think I'm going to round up there and I'm going to hit
the guard #2. OK, yeah, you're able to get up
(02:14:35):
there next to guard #2 you can make your attack roll.
I got an 8. OK, an 8 is a miss.
All right, yeah, I don't have very many bonus actions unless I
hit them. Yep, I'm done all.
Right, well, you are up there inthe mix with guard #2 Guard
(02:15:01):
number one is dead. Grimace, that brings us to you
down there in the southeast corner of the platform.
What's Grimace up to? Question.
OK, I'm going to run up, grab the staff, OK, My action will be
athletic. Back for you to climb up there.
(02:15:23):
Oh, didn't it? I thought it fell down though.
Oh. So like the the whole center
that you see that's the shape ofa snake.
Head in the. Center that that whole thing is
a platform that's raised up 10 feet off the ground.
So like the the Duke is up off the the main ground.
That's why everybody's kind of having to run around it to the
1:00 twelve o'clock 11:00. OK.
(02:15:47):
All right, I got not good ships.Yeah, you get up to the edge
there, you're not quite able to run up.
I will say that you have the ability to move back if you
would like. You can get a line of vision on
the Duke to take a shot at him or you can stay there at the
edge and Couch could try to likereach down and help pull you up
(02:16:10):
if you wanted. Long as it doesn't put me in
prone. I would well not do that.
The only problem there is then Iwouldn't be able to do anything
once I'm up there. So because it wouldn't be my
turn anymore, yeah, I'll just walk back a little and see if I
can just Eldridge blast him for. That yeah, take a shot.
(02:16:32):
OK, Eldridge Blast, that is a not a good seven.
Yeah, I'm, I'm sorry. 7 is also a miss.
The eldest blast goes wide and blasts into the far wall.
OK, that's all I can do. Certainly all.
(02:16:54):
Right, good, a good try to get up there and still took a shot
at him. McHale.
That will bring us to the AsamarCleric all.
Right, so we do have Guard 2 still alive, right?
Guard 2 still alive at the kind of 12:00 most northern point.
We've got a villager at 11:00 who's floating off the ground,
(02:17:18):
and we have a guard #3 who's at 9:00 who has stabbed one of the
villagers at the 9:00 spot, but that villager is still alive.
Like making sure I understand what time the time zones are.
OK, cool. Yeah, I know.
I'm like looking. At my watch on my desk.
Like yes, 9:00. 9:00 Oh, OK, Allright.
(02:17:40):
I'd like to make my way as far to the West as possible, closer
to Guard 2, making my way towards 9:00 on the dais and
then without, you know, prockinga attack of opportunity of
course, since there's some space.
Or do. You want to be closer to the
guard. Yeah, OK.
(02:18:00):
Yeah, that sounds good. And then I would like to cast
Told the Dead. Yeah, on guard #2 there at
12:00. Well, there's some other people
around here, right? There are.
Does it target a creature or an area?
It targets a creature, but I'm thinking if they they have this
(02:18:20):
handled or not. But yeah, I'll, I'll just go
ahead and Duke toll the dead here.
Sure you can. Absolutely, 'cause I the other
guard is definitely within 60 feet of you, so you can target
the guard there at 9:00 if you want to get his attention.
Oh yeah, sure. Let's let's go do the new one.
We'll we'll do Guard 3. You got it.
(02:18:40):
Wisdom saving throw for my guys with a -2 on their wisdom.
He rolled an 11 -, 2 for A9. That's not going to be enough.
Sure not. We're going to roll AD 8 and we
got a a healthy 2 all. Right, well he is hurt.
Both the guards are are looking a little shaky on their feet, as
(02:19:03):
it were. McHale, any other bonus action
or anything else? Nope, I will simply ready myself
and end my turn. Very good Couch the barbarian.
You're you're up on the platform.
You're toe to toe with the Duke. What would Couch like to do?
I would like to still be raging and attack them again.
(02:19:27):
All right, you got it. Let's go ahead and make that
attack roll. A 19 + 524.
Yeah, that that definitely hits him.
Go ahead with your damage, geez.A 3 + 3 six and I can roll AD 4,
correct? Yeah, it.
Says it says attack roll, ability check or saving throw.
(02:19:51):
OK so that doesn't add to damageI don't think, but you do add
your rage, so your rage would make that an 8.
Your ex passes through again andcuts into like the Duke's thigh.
He looks down at you. Yeah, he's, he's real mad.
He's he's big angry at you. Bring it on.
(02:20:14):
Duke. OK, you're raging.
You you attacked couch. Anything else that you would
like to do there? I.
Mean if I want to use movement, I'd try to dance around him a
little bit like in Hamad Ali, just kind of taunt him a little
bit. Yeah, sure.
Yeah, you. You start kind of like circling
him a bit, twirling your axe in your hands, maybe being kind of
fancy. He's not able to use his
(02:20:35):
movement to throw the staff to me.
Is he or is that a an an action you?
Know what? Could that be a?
Bonus action that has a bonus action?
You bet. Grimace.
What do you shout at Couch? Throw him in the staff.
I got you buddy. Wait.
Yeah, piece of cake. You you throw the staff down off
(02:20:56):
the platform, Grimace. On your next turn you'll be able
to pick that up and use it again.
Dang, this is not going at all. I.
Planned. I'd also forgotten to choose an
ability for him for the hex well, so I'll choose Wisdom.
So if he has to make any Wisdom saves, he'll get a lot of
disadvantage. Okie, dokie, let me mark that
(02:21:20):
down here. That's for the the hex blade,
right? Sorry, the hex spell.
Hex spell Yeah sorry I I've always have hex blade in my head
but it is just. Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Yeah, yeah, OK, awesome. Okie, dokie.
Well, that's going to bring us to the guard at 9:00.
(02:21:41):
They are going to do another oneof their wisdom saves to see
what they decide to do. Not really a save, just a wisdom
check. Yeah.
Pulls the spear out of the villager and turns and is going
to charge at McHale. Ignores his orders at what he
was told to do. McHale, he's coming at you.
(02:22:03):
Spear levelled and takes a swing.
McHale does a six hit. It absolutely does not.
I didn't think so. 3 + 3 jeez. My my big bad.
And his guards here are just acting like absolute wusses.
(02:22:26):
OK, that's it for him. My faith guides me.
The guard hisses at you and saysmy Duke guides me and the Duke
shots. He's blind and you are dull.
The Duke shots I told you to sacrifice the villager you.
Idiot. And the guard says I'm doing a
good job. Can't even kill a tied up
(02:22:49):
villager. I stabbed him.
OK, guard #2HE takes a stab at Kilbor.
Kilbor does an 11 hit or not? Kilbor T dog Sorry.
Pretty sure an 11 is a mess, no?Yeah.
That's a mess. That guard stops stabbing the
villager at the 12:00 marks, tries to stab at T dog.
(02:23:10):
T dog, you're able to knock it away.
That guard also hisses out. I'm also doing a good job.
And the Duke could not look moreannoyed.
That brings us to the top of theturn.
Order The Duke points at the villager floating at the 11:00
(02:23:31):
mark and everyone sees the spectral snake shoot from his
hand and rips out the throat of the villager at 11:00, and that
villager falls dead to the ground in the rune's blood,
pouring towards the center of the room where the Duke is.
(02:23:52):
The Duke then looks down at Couch and he is going to make an
attack on Couch. Couch does a 19 hit you?
It. Does OK Couch you see that same
(02:24:14):
kind of spectral snake shoot from his hand and you take 23
points of necrotic damage? You're in.
Half it's necrotic as a barbarian, do you?
When you rage, do you cut necrotic in half?
But you're. Not at level. 2 I don't think at
(02:24:35):
level 2 you you have that. Yet to be Level 3 and choose
bear, yeah. I checked and I indeed do not.
OK, that's 23 points of necroticdamage.
I'm still up, I'm still cooking all.
Right. Wow, but I'm down to 1 HP guys
(02:24:56):
so where's that clear? Oh.
My God couch, you are rapidly bleeding from the neck as this
spectral snake like bites into you and rips out a chunk of your
neck. And that's going to be 1234.
(02:25:17):
That is four different kinds of blood that are at the center of
the altered platform that the Duke is raised up on.
And that's just a a good thing for you guys to keep in mind.
Villager at the 5:00. Villager at 11:00.
(02:25:39):
Some of the Duke's own blood, and now a good amount of Couch's
blood. I'm not going to count.
To the villagers who were stabbed but not killed.
OK, that's it for the Duke. T dog, That brings us to you.
You've got guard, guard #2 thereat 12:00 right in front of you.
(02:26:00):
Yeah, I'll guess I'll make a move on him with the Mace.
Let's go. I got a 12.
So I get to use the +4. Yeah.
I think that's still in effect, right?
You you would need to roll A4 tohit him.
I'll, I'll tell you right now. That's a 25% chance.
It's a 2. All right, a 14 is still a miss,
(02:26:21):
I'm afraid, but you have your movement.
If you do want to move away fromhim, he will get a swing at you.
Or you can stay where you are and continue to deal with that
guard. I'm going to go towards that
other villager and I do what I did the last time and try to
pull him out. Yeah, like the villager at 9:00.
Oh, the other one's dead, isn't he?
(02:26:42):
Yeah. The one at 11:00 is dead.
OK, will I be able to reach thatone?
Not quite. Because you used your action to
attack once, you would be able to get a bit more than halfway
to them. OK.
I'll go by halfway to you. Wait, the villager in front of
you is alive? They are, yeah.
(02:27:02):
If you would like, you could. Grab a.
Villager and pull them back. I'll try to do that.
OK, I'm going to be kind and I'mgoing to say the guard uses his
opportunity attack on you instead of the villager as you
kind of like position yourself between them.
He gets a free attack on you. Does a 14 hit you?
(02:27:26):
No, I got a 15 all. Right, that's a miss then.
That's that's it. And that villager is pulled to
safety away from the snake guardand is now out of the ruins.
I. Think that'll end my turn there.
I do believe so, Kilbor. That's going to bring us to you,
(02:27:46):
Sir. You got guard 2 immediate there
to the right, and you've got theother guard fighting McHale a
bit to the South of you. Yeah, the one in the guard 2, is
he he hurt pretty bad or? Yeah, they're they're both they
they don't have a ton of HP. I'm going to go ahead and swing
(02:28:09):
my long sword at him, all right?Make that attack roll and what'd
you get there? 20.
A Nat 20 or dirty 20. Dirty. 20.
Dirty 20 OK yeah, roll your damage.
That is a hit. 6th. Yeah, your long sword goes clean
(02:28:29):
through the snake's head, chopping his head off from the
rest of the snake body, and the whole thing collapses to the
ground. Nice.
The Duke again yells in frustration and just shouts.
Incompetent fools everywhere. All of you fools.
So I'm going to use the rest of the my movement for the rest of
(02:28:52):
my turn. I should I go for the for one of
the commenters or should I try to go up on top of the platform?
It's up to you. Let's.
I have a. Save the common folk.
Yeah, I have emotion and greaterhealing so I can get myself
though. All right, I'm going to, I'm
(02:29:14):
going to get as close as I can to the commoner at 9:00 please
all. Right.
And I believe your movement is 30.
That's going to get you right up, right around here.
That's about right, and I think that'll end my turn.
Nicely done Kilbore. That's going to bring us back to
(02:29:34):
grimace with your Python staff back in your hand.
I got the staff. I'm going to reactivate it,
Yeah, and I'm going. To.
Stick it on this guy again. OK, you activate your staff, you
throw it the 10 feet up onto theplatform.
(02:29:57):
You can definitely command it togo attack, go attack the Duke.
All right, let's go. So let's do this again. 15
total. 15 is a miss on the bite and he has to do what is it?
ADC 14 save on the constrict. DC1616.
(02:30:20):
OK, let me roll for the Duke here as he slaps away the giant
snake's head. Once he rolled a 18 + 4 for a
22, so he he does. And this is good he.
He is my big bad for this whole one shot.
Yep. He holds the snake by the neck
(02:30:43):
as it tries to constrict around him.
And he looks down at you, grimace.
And he says, fool, don't you understand that the snakes work
for me? Not this one.
Would I be able to use like a bonus action to Chuck a a
(02:31:04):
healing potion to couch because isn't he had one?
Is that one hit? Point you you could throw it to
him and basically just move it from your inventory to his.
Yeah, let's do that. OK, you know what?
It's a couch. Give me a Dexterity check and
(02:31:25):
roll anything but a gnat 1. Said it.
It's a damn near thing, but you you catch the the bottle as
Grimace tosses it up to you. You like?
Actually. And a couple times, but you
finally get a hold of it. It's a potion of greater
(02:31:45):
healing, so it's 4 D 4 + 4 it. Points you use it.
And you will be able to use thaton your turn couch.
User. OK, Grimace, Anything else?
Yeah, maybe I'll just run over here and see if I can get up.
I'd like to try to get over hereto help this commoner but I
(02:32:06):
don't know how far I could make it but or if I can even do it
with a check you you. Could run down and it I, I think
I was allowing a bonus action totry and climb up so you you
could do an athletics check to try and scramble up the the
platform. OK, let's do that 17.
(02:32:30):
A-17 will do it you. You're able to get up on the
edge of the platform there. All good.
All right, let's think all I can.
Do. All right, Mikhail, you and
guard #3 there, toe to toe, man to man.
Are there any other commoners orvillagers that are alive besides
(02:32:51):
the one that's at I believe 7:00?
Yeah, there's one that's alive at 9:00 and there's one that is
alive at 7:00. They are both in the rooms on
the floor. Gotcha.
OK, I'm going to take a swing atthis guard. 3.
Using, Yeah, using told the deadagain and hopefully it's not
(02:33:15):
weak this time. Awesome.
Well he is hurt so it's going todo more damage on him.
Let's roll his -2 Wisdom garbagea 10 -. 2 for 8:00.
All right. And then for the D12, it is A10
this time. This time it's not too bad.
Tell us how you killed the guard.
(02:33:37):
He had 9 head points. A cacophonous ring echoes
throughout the whole. His eardrums burst from the
inside out and he slumps down tothe ground.
It still had its helmet on, and you just see blood splatter out
from the visor from within, and the whole thing slumps to the
ground. That that's it for the guards,
(02:34:00):
guys. You've got the villagers in the
ruins and you've got the Duke still standing.
But Mikhail, you have finished off the last guard.
You still have your movement anda bonus action.
OK, I would like to make myself as close to the 9:00 commoner as
possible, and if I'm able to help move them off of the dais
(02:34:23):
or the ruins that they're on, however close they can get to
doing that action. Yeah, I mean, like you're, I'm
going to, I'm going to fudge it.I'm going to say you're you're
able to get it and get there. And with your bonus action, same
thing. Yeah.
You're able to yank them out of the pole of the runes and and
get them to safety just right there behind you out of the
circle. And again, the Duke makes this
(02:34:47):
angry, seething Slytherin sound and couch, you're up there with
them and grimace. You would see the Duke now has
this elongated snake tongue hanging out of his mouth as he
rages at all of his guards beingkilled.
And that'll be all for my turn. All right, couch, that brings us
(02:35:08):
to you. How do?
I drink this Tosha. You can do it with a action and
you get the full healing benefit.
So if you're drinking like 4 D 4+ 4, you would get 20 hit
points, or you can drink it as abonus action and you would roll
4D four and take whatever the roll is.
(02:35:30):
The idea is, you know, with a full action, you're carefully
and controllingly drinking the whole potion.
As a bonus action, you're kind of like more hastily trying to
like, chug it down, and you're spilling some of it on yourself
and some on the ground. Yeah, I think it's.
Your choice. I think any heel that's less
(02:35:50):
than Max is going to be a kill. I might as well do a bonus
action to try to get another attack on.
All right, so that's going to be4 D 4 + 4 for that greater
potion of healing. First role is a four A 1 + 2 + 2
for five for a total of 9. +4 for 13. +4 is the.
(02:36:13):
Nice, and you still have your action.
You can take a swing at the Duke.
Let's do that. An 11 + 5 is 16. 16 is a miss.
He's so weak, yet so strong. Your axe glances off that semi
translucent barrier surrounding him, and he looks down at you,
(02:36:37):
great axe in in one hand, the health potion sloppily splashed
across your face, dripping from your chin.
And he goes, honestly, it would be an absolute embarrassment for
me to fail the Crippled God to the likes of all of you.
(02:36:57):
If I move behind the constrictorsnake, will the Duke have?
He he will get an opportunity attack, but it is different from
the spectral snake. It's it's not quite as strong,
I'll tell you that. I'll, I'll stay right now.
OK, it's your call. It's your choice, OK, if you're
(02:37:18):
staying there. That brings us to the top of the
turn order, which makes it the Duke's turn.
Here, villager, who's down at 7:00, begins to float in the
runes and is floating up off theground.
They're kicking their feet feebly.
This is another dark elf man from the Breckenhollow village
(02:37:46):
and he's shouting someone help me please.
I don't want to, I don't want tobe sacrificed.
The Duke then points a hand at Mikhail and he says, you
Mikhail, Oh me Mikhail, please give me a wisdom saving throw,
(02:38:09):
DC-15. I got a 21.
Mikhail you feel your guts twistin your stomach and you feel
this magic presence twist insideyou, and you know the wine is
trying to do something. You look at your Mace in one
(02:38:33):
hand, and you look at your otherfree hand and your spare hand.
For a second it looks like the flesh is morphing together and
taking the shape of a tentacle, kind of like the tail of a
snake. And you're able to clench your
eyes shut and focus on it and focus on your hand.
(02:38:53):
And you open your eyes again andyou see you have 5 normal
fingers again and the wine does not affect you And the Duke
screeches and yells and he's going to take a normal swing at
couch. He used his special ability on
Mikhail and failed. Sucks to suck couch.
(02:39:19):
He did roll in 19. He got a 25 to hit.
Yes, 25 hits. OK, this is not the spectral
attack. I promise it's not as bad.
You take 14 points of damage as he actually has a ray pier in in
his spare hand. He swings it down stabbing at
(02:39:39):
you. So that's 14 cut in half to 7.
That's a good thing 'cause I haven't done just 7.
All right, still standing. That's that's the top of the
turn order T dog. That brings us back to you.
That Duke is the only guy left as a threat, and you've got one
more villager who's all the way down at that 7:00 who's floating
(02:40:02):
in the air. If you guys haven't picked up on
it yet, they get one turn where they start floating and then on
the next turn the the runes do sacrifice them to the Duke.
OK T Doc, where to where to you,Sir?
I. Don't think I can make it over
there to him, can I? If you run and dash, you'll be
(02:40:24):
just 10 feet away. Or you can lose.
Your movement Climb up to the top.
Climb up on the platform if you want to go at the Duke.
Yep, that's what I want to do all.
Right, give me that athletics track to try and climb your way
up. 14 + 2. I think you get to add AAD 4 to
it, right? Yeah, it's ADC 17, so you can't
(02:40:48):
fail you, you make it up. As a reminder, as long as T Dog
and Couch are within 30 feet of each other, they can add AD 4 to
most D20 rolls. Those are attack rolls, saving,
etcetera. They are definitely within 30
feet of each other now. OK, T dog, it's that That's
(02:41:12):
about as far as you can get withclimbing up the wall and and
running from where you were. Again, you have the option.
If you would like to make a ranged attack on the Duke, you
have the opportunity. I throw the spear.
Yeah, the Dexterity. Make a Dexterity roll.
I got day. OK, I'm sorry.
(02:41:32):
With an 8. Your spear sails over the Duke's
head, missing him, but you do still have your Mace.
The the Duke looks at you T dog and he goes.
Truly, I cannot lose to just absolute incompetent fools like
the five of you. See dog, at least from you miss
(02:41:55):
you don't hit me. Not, not that time, all right.
That's going to bring us to Kilbor, I believe.
Hey, what? What are you talking about,
Couch? This guy on the other game, he.
Has no memory of that. I think I'm going to go run to
(02:42:16):
save this counter. Yeah, we'll, we'll get you right
there. You can absolutely use your
movement to get down bonus action.
They are floating, so give me that athletics check trying to
yank them out of the pole of thespell.
Nice. About a 16. 16 will do it.
(02:42:37):
That last villager is yanked free, no longer floating in the
runes. The Duke just yells angrily.
The the commoners who are alive, you know, two of them on the
West side of the antechamber arelike cowering, one hiding behind
(02:42:58):
Mikhail, one hiding behind Kilbor on the east side.
They're both just trying to stayas far away as they can from the
center of the dais, and the Dukeis looking around.
His guards are dead and defeated.
He did not get enough of the sacrificial blood to do what
he's trying to do. He's in a bad place.
(02:43:19):
Kilborn, do you still have a bonus action if there's anything
you can do with a bonus? Oh, I thought I used.
I thought I had an. Action left.
Yeah. No, you have an action.
OK. I really think that do some more
ball lighting. So I, I will let you know if
(02:43:39):
you're putting it up there next to the Duke, he's engaged with
couch and the snake it it would because they're all kind of in
melee there engaged together. One of those balls of lightning
would hit all three of them. So how would the damage I did
between all three of them? No, the the damage would apply
(02:44:01):
equally to all three. Oh wow, OK, I probably can't do
that. You can.
You just might kill. Couch, I think you have a
Longbow. I do have a Longbow I'm.
Dead either way. You know, I could cast Prairie
(02:44:26):
Fire on him. Yeah, you can do that too.
Let's do that. Light him up.
He is hexed by Grimace and lit up by fairy fire by Kilbor.
OK. And you said that was a
Dexterity save? Yes.
And what is the save of? 12. 12 OK. 12.
Duke rolled A gnat to Duke failed the constrictor.
(02:44:49):
Snake rolled a 19 couch. Give us that Dexterity saving
throw. A-17 What do I need?
To roll 12 couch, you are safe. Thank goodness.
Garbage rolls garbage anti climactic rolls you guys the
Duke lights up in fairy fire grimace I I think that brings us
(02:45:14):
to you buddy. So.
He. Currently, the Duke has
advantage. On attack.
You've got advantage on attacks on him.
He is lit up like a Christmas tree.
Wait, OK, I'm going to try to attack with the snake again.
All right. So that's 15.
(02:45:37):
I guess that misses a 15. Oh, the way he gets, but he
gets. Advantage.
So yeah, roll again. But nice, that'll do it. 24
total. That is definitely a hit. 14.
Total. Jeez.
OK, definitely. Is he constricted?
(02:45:57):
He needs to do a strength savingthrow for that.
Is he 16? He's really good at these.
Does have a + 4 on his strength.He he's he's like weirdly buff.
He rolled a 17 + 4 for 21. Dang.
OK, he continues. The the snake does bite him
(02:46:18):
once, but he continues to kind of hold it by the body, keeping
it away from him with his spare hand.
And yeah, you, you see like, weirdly like muscles bulging in
his shoulders and biceps as he'sstrangely, arcanely strong right
now. Make oil comes with protein in
it. Yeah, right.
I think you still have your action if you want to make a
(02:46:40):
attack. Yep, with advantage.
And I'm going to tell you right now, Duke's, Duke's pretty hurt.
So 22 let me see if I get a hands and wire.
Yeah, or roll again just to makesure you don't crit.
You know, 22. Let's go with the 22.
(02:47:01):
Roll that damage plus anybody who has put any kind of effects
on the Duke. That's 10 total.
And because you have hexed him, you get to add to that.
Oh yeah, +6. Is it plus just a flat 6 or AD
(02:47:22):
six? Yeah, necrotic.
Yeah, 6 points of necrotic. Dang, OK so 16 points of damage.
Your eldritch blast rips away the skin of the Duke's face, and
you see black scales of a reptile beneath his skin, and
(02:47:42):
one glowing golden serpent eye as he turns his face, looking at
you grimace, the tongue hanging from his mouth, a snake's split
tongue. And he goes, no, I can't end
here, not like this, not to a group of rabble like you.
(02:48:03):
Oh yes, just like this. Grimace, anything else you would
like to do? I believe that's all I can do.
So I'll just move down a little bit kind of around the corner
here and that's it. Got it.
That and that is the edge of theplatform, as it were.
I I know the map looks a little different, but that's that's
about as far South as we can go.Mikhail, that brings us to you,
(02:48:28):
the Duke. That dude is on death's door.
Very well. I was taught that killing things
is the best form of healing. So we'll we'll go ahead and
attack. And so I'm going to use my last
spell slot to cast guiding bolt now for ferry fire.
Is it the next has advantage foreveryone?
(02:48:49):
I think it's every attack until he rolls to save on it.
OK, I'll cast guiding bolt with advantage.
So the first one is 11 and the next one is 14.
OK. And is guiding Bolt A a single
attack? It is a first level evocation.
(02:49:11):
It is one action. So yeah, it is a single attack.
OK, yeah, unfortunately AA14 is a miss. 11 OK, you.
Still have your movement and bonus action?
Yeah, I'll, I'll make my way closer to the pillar or the the.
To the platform the. Platform, yeah.
(02:49:34):
Do you want to use your bonus action to try and climb it this
turn? Yes, please.
All right, give me that athletics.
I got a 2. You you hop once your fingers
almost reach the top. I look rather lame this brown,
didn't I? You know it happens dude.
I've been whomped this whole fight like I've rolled so many
(02:49:54):
bad rolls so I I feel your pain all.
Right, that'll. Be all couch.
That brings us to you, buddy all.
Right, I have my last ocean of greater healing.
OK, do you want a bonus action it?
Yeah, I'm going to bonus action now.
That's 44. Yep, 4 + 1 + 4 + 4 is a 13.
(02:50:18):
That's so much better than last time.
That's so that's 13 + 4 for 17 points healed.
I'm back to 24 out of 25. And.
I want to chop the striptile saga.
Yeah, take a swing. He he looks back at you as you
(02:50:39):
drop the first potion and you start chugging a second one,
splashing potion over yourself as you're drinking it and
pouring it on yourself. And he like, shakes his head and
he's like, unbelievable. There's no way I meet my end
like this. Roll that attack roll.
I got a Gnat 20 + 525. Oh my.
(02:51:05):
God, I don't know if he can survive this.
Roll. Crit damage couch.
A 5 + 3 + 311 plus rage 13. OK.
The Duke had exactly 75 hit points.
(02:51:27):
You guys have done 62 damage to him couch with your rage. 11 + 2
for a 13 brings you to exactly 75, dropping him to 0 couch.
With. Your Nat 20 with your great X
for the audience. Please tell everyone how does
(02:51:49):
Couch slay the Duke? I make sure that the Duke is
facing me. I want him to see my smile as I
raised my braid axe and shrunk it down to the back of his neck,
bopping his head off. You cut off his head and the
body drops to the ground. The giant constrictor snake
(02:52:13):
breaks free and slithers away and out of his suit.
You see hundreds of snakes beginto pour out, Slytherin out from
his tunic that he's wearing. Just hundreds and hundreds of
snake dart in every direction. Slytherin past Mikhail, past T
Dog, past your couch. And they all slither off the
(02:52:36):
platform, and they slither away, and off the edge of the
antechamber down to the abyss below, as the Duke is slain.
And whatever chaotic power in him in, in the form of hundreds
of snakes, slithers and falls into the abyss below.
(02:52:58):
But with that, ladies and gentlemen, you have slain the
Duke. Let's go.
You you have slain the Duke and saved the people of Bracken
Hollow. Most of them anyway.
(02:53:22):
With that, everybody is able to just kind of make their way up
to the diocese. Could could somebody give me
some arcana checks everybody? And.
The outro's a 14. Tito got a 19. 10-4 All right.
(02:53:46):
OK, T Dog, as you're up there atthe northernmost tip, you do
find there's a switch that is onthe ground of the platform, and
arcanely you can tell that that is a activation switch of some
kind. Do you push it?
(02:54:08):
And I asked the group what they think.
Absolutely. What are you guys saying?
It's a button that's meant to bepressed.
We always push buttons around here all.
Right. Press the button.
You push the button and the platform that you're on rumbles
and shakes and the whole thing begins to lift up as a giant
(02:54:28):
pillar bringing you and the 12345 villagers that you were
able to save. The pillar continues upward and
upward and as you're looking over the edge you can see the
length and expanse of the very snake like tunnel that you
(02:54:51):
traveled down. You can see the multiple layers
and the way that it twisted and curved on top of itself.
And the platform raises up and suddenly you are in a chamber in
the main room, outside of the main door, where you had all
come in and been guided by the gate guard before you were
(02:55:12):
brought to the banquet hall. The villagers all grab each of
you, many hugging you, some shaking your hands vigorously,
saying thank you, thank you, you've saved us.
And they can't stop themselves. They're, they're almost
stampeding out the door into thecourtyard and running down to
(02:55:33):
the village of Bracken Hollow down below.
As the five of you step out, Penelope also steps out beside
you. She takes a deep breath of the
dark air and looks around the night sky and then looks at each
of you and she says you, you 5 you, you really are heroes, you
(02:55:57):
know? All in a day's work.
Let's go celebrate. Let's go back to that Tavern.
Yeah. Anybody got more of that?
Duke's Wine. No.
She she looks like she goes. No, please don't drink the
Duke's wine. I wouldn't recommend it.
I'm still looking at my fingers.Yeah, yeah, you, you look at
(02:56:17):
your fingers and like, for a second they look like they're
wiggling, but they they're just normal fingers.
Yeah, these fingers tend to wiggle.
Penelope she turns to you, Mikhail and she says, Cleric,
thank you for all of your, your kind words and thank you Kilbor
(02:56:37):
for saving me from the fall. I I, I had no idea the evil that
I was party to. And if it weren't for all of
you, I I would have fallen into the abyss when the Duke pushed
me. Does Penelope think that all the
words I shared with her were kind?
(02:56:57):
She's remembering the most recent thing you said, the
commenting about how nice her hair looks.
Oh, OK, Whatever happened to that pendant?
Kilbore has it. Kilbore.
Yeah, you you look at at the necklace that had the pendant on
it, and there's no amulet attached to the necklace
(02:57:18):
anymore. It at some point had dissolved.
It was related to something elseentirely.
You never actually put it on so it didn't do anything.
And with the Duke being killed, the you hold up the necklace and
there in the night air you watchas the twisting snakes on the
pendant dissolve into ash and you are just left with a mundane
(02:57:40):
silver chain. Oh, I just, I give her the.
I go ahead and give her the chain and say yeah, it was fun.
She looks at you and she goes, no, it was not fun.
Not, not at all. I'll give you guys a quick sneak
peek behind the screen here. If anybody had gone into this
(02:58:02):
fight wearing the chain like actually like put it on, which I
listened to very closely, Kilborn, you held it and waved
it, but you did not actually wear it.
If somebody had been wearing it,they would have suffered the
same effect of as if they had eaten the food or drank the
wine. And the the Duke would have had
(02:58:23):
the ability to try to shape shift you into a snake that
works for him. But you didn't put it on and the
Duke is slain. The amulet dissolves and it's
just a regular silver chain nailthat is the first piece of
silver Penelope's ever owned. And Penelope looks at each of
you and she goes, well, I, I know down in town there's,
(02:58:46):
there's a little Tavern with a really, really grumpy Tavern
keeper. I think it's called the Sappy
Rag. First round's on me.
I'll take that. I'll get the second.
You all make your way down from the castle down into Bracken's
(02:59:08):
Hollow. You make your way through the
streets. The villagers are running on
ahead of you, all of them shouting, screaming.
The Dukes been saying this heroes have saved our village.
You make your way into the soppyrag and the old crusty Tavern
keeper looks up from polishing the countertop that he's been
wiping at non-stop. He looks as all of you re enter
(02:59:32):
the Tavern, Penelope leading theway, and he goes.
Ah, so I do get to serve you allagain.
And that is where we will end the Serpentine Duke.
That was awesome. You what you.
(02:59:53):
You old managed to live. Giant snake puzzle.
That was one hell of a map dude. That was cool.
Oh that was a dungeon crawling. Yamas is going to hate me.
We are pushing for hours on thisrecording guys.
You guys did awesome though. That was a hell of a boss fight
with a lot of a lot of differentthings going on.
(03:00:16):
We didn't even get to see the final phase of the boss.
The boss did not actually I I was certain that more more blood
would reach him and he would change change shape some that I
I had a whole phase two to the Duke of him turning into
literally a giant serpent and you guys kept it from happening.
(03:00:40):
Would that have like given him more hit points or would he have
just had like a stronger? Absolutely.
It would have changed his attacks.
They were more attacks, just as bad as the spectral snake attack
that kept hitting Couch. And he also would have been
doing some constricting moves similar to the giant constrictor
(03:01:00):
snake, but it it would have beenhim attacking multiple people in
the same turn and having all kinds of things.
And yeah, I'm just going to wad up this chunk of paper and throw
it in the garbage because he doesn't get to do any of that.
Yeah, I thought about killing one of those commoners just to
see what would have happened. I.
Wouldn't have absolutely changedthe entire outcome of this
(03:01:24):
because he needed five differentpeople's sacrifice blood to
reach him. And I I got a little fast and
loose with it where I counted his own blood and I counted
couch. I counted your blood because I
was like, this is there's no wayhe's going to get up to five
with the way that it is. But awesome, awesome job guys.
(03:01:48):
Yeah, you stopped the big bad from becoming the big bad.
You slayed the Duke. Yeah, you, you saved most of the
people and somehow gave this made Penelope.
That was not part of my narrative at all when I started
this. A whole second lease on life.
That's great. So I mean happy endings all
(03:02:11):
around. It's good.
With that guys, we will bring this two shot to a close.

You can all say good night. Good night everyone.
Good night everyone. Good night.
As a listener, girls like man, they must be really tired.
All right. Good night, everybody.
Yeah man, it's midnight on the time the moon's high, But we
walk in style. 5 brave souls in the temples.
(03:07:33):
Hard time to break it down till this dark apart.
Coach bust the door rage in his eyes.
Kilbor praise while the holy fire flies.
T dog flips through the shadow like breeze but kills smile and
slapping cheeks with ease. Grimace grins with that Eldridge
glare. They ain't ready for the vibes.
(03:07:53):
We bring their ticket talk, we stop in the clock.
Villagers trap but we break the lock.
Blood runs red, but love runs deep with freedom, one by one.
No time for sleep. Snakes in clothes trying to
deceive. But we burn their lives.
We make them leave. Magic in circles, victims in
(03:08:14):
place, each at a number on the cursed face, 1 to 12.
The power they feed, but we slash through ritual.
Plant that seed my cow with a grin.
You need some luck, God. And with butt slaps, 'cause we
don't give up Duke. Steps down, sweat on his skin,
but the truth leaks out from deep within his in tongue scales
(03:08:36):
in disguise. The God shift forms right before
our eyes. Snake men slither, claws in
hand, but the crew holds fast. Takes a stand.
Ticket talk. We stop in the clock.
Chains fall down, we break the lock.
Holy light and we all gain. Couch brings the Thunder monk
(03:08:57):
brings the pain. No more fear, no more cries.
Just righteous fist and battle cries.
(03:09:19):
All calls down Light from the sky burns through evil.
Watch those reptiles fry. Couch just laughs, covered in
red. Ain't no snake gonna mess.
With his head ticket tock, we stop in the clock.
We strike him down these blood red.
Sky X strikes true, removing hishead.
Now the Duke's just cold and dead.
(03:09:42):
Snakes dissolving holy flame. No more victims, no more shame.
Clock and whines peace return. While the fire of the righteous
burns, clocks unwound. No more screams.
The blood don't flow, just peaceful dreams.
Heroes walk out, heads held high.
(03:10:03):
Another dark Duke left to die. And if you ask how we knew what
to do, he kills this guy's baby straight from the glutes.
