(01:10):
My name is Mudd the Dungeon Master, and I am joined here
today by not one, not 2, not even 3, but 5 wonderful players
joining us tonight for our community game.
My 5 wonderful players. Why don't each of you just take
a moment and introduce yourselves?
And I'm going to start at the top with Mr. Couch Adventure.
(01:32):
Good evening everyone, I am Couch Adventures, a level 2
barbarian soon to be Level 3 after this campaign I feel and I
am super excited to play with new players and a new team and
learn all the still sets from each.
Always be learning. We are also joined by a first
time appearance and personal friend of mine, Mr. SFSF.
(01:55):
Could you please introduce yourself?
Hello everybody, I'm SFI, am friends with Mudd and I am new
here. It is fantastic getting to meet
and kind of have a little bit ofbanter before the show.
It's nice and fun. I will be playing as Mikhail
Benet, the Asamar cleric, who ison a journey with these fine
folks to see what is going on. At this Manor.
(02:18):
I look forward to the adventure ahead.
At the Manor, also with us, another first time player with
us here at D&D 721. We have the crypto therapist,
yes. So tonight I'll be playing
Grimace. Lockstone was a warlock and a
high half elf. And don't be confused by his
(02:41):
race, he's not that high. Fantastic.
Also with us, another our third first time player with us here
at DND 721 we have T Dog. Yeah, this is T Dog, and my
character name is also T Dog. He's a Level 2 Mont and I'm
(03:02):
excited to play. We're excited to have you, T
dog. And last but certainly not
least, it's that holy water tossin Paladin that people have
heard before. Mr. Waldo.
What up, what up? It's Waldo McCoy here playing
Kilbor Precostis. He has a Dragonborn palliative.
(03:24):
Just kind of following Couch around here, ready to see what's
going on. Kilbor and Couch, they kind of
have their own little saga of misadventures they hate.
These guys have played together more than a couple Times Now.
All righty guys. Well, welcome one and all.
Let's get started on the Serpentine Duke.
(03:48):
All of you are sitting on stoolsin the Tavern.
The Tavern keeper a little too quickly slides your coppers from
across the bar into his hand andpockets them in a few different
places on his body. A howling wind shakes the
shutters and he seems to shiver with it.
(04:09):
The air in Murk home is always cold.
It's not the bite of winter, butthe chill of something else,
older and deeper maybe, like theland itself is exhaling its
death rattle over and over, always dark.
And Despite that cold, it's always damp, twisted trees and
scarce soil to grow crops. That's why you lot don't see too
(04:33):
many farmers or lumber workers around these parts.
There's just too few trees to even light the fireplace in here
most of the time. That's why it's so damn cold.
Everyone around these parts is ahauler, gravel worker, midwife,
and we're one of those ever hopeful fishermen and.
He sighs and he looks at the five of you, and he kind of.
(04:56):
Sniffs wetly, wiping out his nose.
And he says, And the people of Bracken Hollow, shit name for a
village, They should have never called it that.
Well, anyway, the people, well, people around here, they just
survive. But like you were all probably
told, those odds have been thinner lately, what with these
(05:17):
banquets that the Duke keeps hosting.
The dark elf bastard. Folks go up first, expecting
something good. They never return.
More go up, hope for maybe a free hot meal.
Never return. And again and again, week after
week, more of his guards come through the village, calling
names of villagers to announce their invitation.
(05:39):
And none too kindly, either. They don't make it sound like
it's an option. Every week more desperate
Bracken folk, despite themselves, go up hoping for
something, I don't know what. And every week I have fewer
customers here at the Soppy Rag.Damn, that's a shit name too,
isn't it? Well, that's why the council did
(06:02):
what desperate folks do. They hired you lot.
Not because they paid well, Mortivus knows.
They can barely scrape together enough coppers to keep the city
lanterns lit. But you've been hired through
these bracken folk, even those dreamer fishermen, each
contributing to put an end to the silent vanishings.
And he continues to wipe a very grimy looking rag that matches
(06:28):
the name of the Tavern, scrubbing at a counter that's
been as polished as it will everbe, which is not very much.
And he looks each of you in turn.
And he says the gates to the Manor will be opening up soon.
And I hope I get to serve you all again.
And that is where we are going to start this adventure.
(06:50):
The five of you are there in theSappy rag, all of you have your
ales and you have kind of like afew minutes here.
If you have anything that your character would like to do to
prepare or anything they want tosay to the Tavern keeper or say
to each other, you just have this opportunity before the
(07:11):
group is expected to make their way up to the mansion.
Gilmore, my friend. What up, couch?
Good to see you again. Yeah, man, let's.
I don't know if I want to have abeer here or do some
questioning. What do you think?
Why not both? The The cabin keeper coughs once
(07:36):
and he goes. I'll tell you one thing, you can
trust the beer more than you cantrust the water.
Might as well. How many people are we talking
about? How many have been went missing?
He looks up and down the bar andas all of you kind of look
around the Tavern. Is particularly empty and he
shrugged and he says, I don't rightly know.
(07:58):
It's been a lot of folks. I imagine some probably skipped
town trying to escape it, otherswent up.
None have come back, whether they left town or went up, so I
it's hard to say just how many have gone into the mansion.
How long has this Duke been in control of this area?
Oh, as long as I know he was always been the Duke.
(08:21):
And this just began recently. It it did several months ago,
it's been going on like this. All of the lands across Merkhom
are usually ruled by some tyrannical dark elf or another.
What a curious and morose case we have here, fellows.
Quite curious indeed. Is there any rhyme or reason?
(08:44):
Is there any rhyme or reason to the people that they're taking?
Are they the Are they all men, or are they just everybody?
None that I can tell. Men, women, even some children
have been invited up. Pretty creepy guys.
I think I'm going to go go meditate a little bit.
Let's prepare for this one. Can I put my holy symbol on?
(09:07):
Yeah, absolutely. Oh man of devotion too.
I have my amulet around my neck at all times.
All right, well, Kilbor's doing some meditating.
Folks are having their beers. Is anybody else doing anything
specific before the five of you head up to the mansion?
Sharpening my great axe. All right, beers, meditation,
(09:27):
little bit of prayer maybe, and honing the the blades.
The small cracked clock tower inthe village bangs and makes a
clanking sound to indicate that even though the sun never quite
shines in this area, it is now officially sundown.
(09:53):
And that was the marker for heading up to the Manor for the
air quotes dinner hour. So as the five of you finish
your drinks and make your way out, Ivan Keeper continues to
wipe at the counter. Doesn't say anything but watch
as each of you as you walk out and you make your way down the
(10:16):
muddy Main St. of the village, making your way towards the
small Crest of the hill where the It's less of a castle and
almost more of like a squat tower.
It's about 3 stories tall. It is circular in shape, like a
(10:36):
tower would be, just not very tall, and there is a Stonewall
that surrounds it. And as the five of you approach,
each of you were given names or aliases of people within the
village. You can pick any fake name that
(10:58):
you would like, that'll just be the villager name.
But as you approach, the gates do slowly swing inward, opening
as the five of you approach and standing before you is a guard
wearing full plate armor, has a full visored helmet on, and he
(11:20):
holds up a scroll that has a list of names on it.
And as each of you approach, he asks for your name.
Hello I'm rumple thrumple dump. Rumple thrumple dump you may
enter I'm T dog. He looks at the list and you can
see he's holding it closer and the guard looks at you T dog and
(11:44):
he says that name's not on the list.
Call me now and then. He he looks at the list and
goes, oh, I see T dog must be a nickname.
Yeah, here we are. OK, you can enter.
And he looks at the next person, waiting for them to give the
name of the villager. Hi, I'm Timmy.
(12:08):
Timmy All right, you can enter. I I I kind of knock him on his
helmet as I pass by. Ah yes, I am Sofa.
Oh, sofa, sofa what? Nofa Ottoman.
Sofa, sofa, Ottoman. OK, well Yep, you're on the
list. You can enter, although you you
(12:29):
knock him on the helmet. Like, are you just like, tapping
your knuckles against his helmet?
Yeah, give him a little knock. Like hello.
We're going to do our first rollof the game initiative.
Waldo's about to die. No, give me give me a let's go
investigation. Nice.
OK, we got. A4.
(12:54):
You know what? Everybody that's there,
everybody else, go ahead and give me some perception checks.
Kilbor, you don't hear anything. It just sounds like a helmet.
That. Sounds like a helmet.
Grimace that. That sounds like a helmet.
I got a nine. Boy, guys, if this is how the
(13:16):
Knights going to go, it's going to be a short adventure.
Yeah, T dog to you it it the helmet sounds a little off, but
still sounds like a helmet. But Kyle, it's all up to you,
baby. Well I got 3 + 3 so not much
high. Oh guys OK, doing awesome with a
24569. You all just hear Waldo's
(13:42):
knuckles rap against a helmet and the guard like turns and T
dog. You do notice that he like puts
a hand on his sword at his hip. But then like, stops himself and
like, sighs once and says, yeah,OK, looks like everybody's here.
(14:04):
Yeah, why don't we just hurry onand get all of you inside?
And he begins to lead the way across the courtyard and up to
the castle main entrance. Large dark wooden doors and all
around the sides of the castle you can just see these dark
(14:28):
black stones that make up the tower itself.
The stones themself almost seem to like have the moisture in the
air sticking to them. They almost look like they're
sweating and they are cut sheer. You could not wedge your fingers
in the cracks of the stones. It's been so precisely placed.
(14:54):
And the guard that welcomed you all at the gates and took your
names pushes open the doors and you all walk inside and you see
a large receiving hall with these plush, brightly lit rugs
that run across the floor that are bright red and tasseled with
(15:17):
gold trim. There's paintings on every wall
that you look at in every corner.
There's a bookshelf and it's just lined with books.
And the guard continues to guideall of you on the mansion
entrance, West downell hallway and into another large room.
And this room is matches the exact same splendor.
(15:39):
There's a huge large banquet style table that stretches
across the room. There are intricately carved
chairs that are all placed at the table.
And there's a few other people that are also inside right now,
a few other villagers who had already come up as well.
(16:02):
And you also see a number of servants walking around wearing
the very classic black and whitekind of servant outfits.
They're holding trays in their hands.
And one walks up to you. It's a dark elf woman.
And she approaches holding the tray.
And on the tray is several goblets of wine.
(16:23):
And she looks down at all of your feet and holds the tray up,
offering all of you a cup of wine.
Billboard grabs 1 and bakes A sip.
Sure. OK.
Couch grabs a cup but does not take a sip.
OK, takes like a sip too dog, you take one.
(16:45):
But are you? Are you drinking anything?
No, I'm not drinking them. Not yet.
OK. I would like to take one and
then when she's out of eye shot could I roll a medicine check to
see if there's been poison in this?
Yeah, absolutely. Real quick, cryptotherapist.
I I heard you speak. It sounded like you said that
(17:07):
you also took one. Yeah, I'll take one and shake a
sip as well, OK. Would would it be insider
medicine or what kind of role? I was going to say I'll I'll let
you take your pick. You can do medicine or you could
do nature if you're looking for like a medicinal quality that
might be in the drink. I'll do the medicine one.
(17:28):
Here we go 2 + 3. It's wine.
It's perfectly normal drinkable wine.
Can can I touch T dog and give him guidance and then I'll be
quiet? Yeah, absolutely.
Doug, do you want to investigateyour wine as well with guidance,
which means you get to add AI believe it's AD 4, right?
(17:49):
Or is it AD 6? OK, good.
Yeah, for sure. So I spin the medicine.
Yep. Oh, shoot, I got a 7 -, 2.
Yeah, it's. Perfect roll AD 4.
You get to add AD 4 to that roll, so.
I got a one. OK, so that's a six total,
(18:12):
perfectly normal wine, and the servant girl holding a platter
still has a few goblets on it. She's looking down and she says
please enjoy the Duke's wine. He offers it to the villagers
freely. Can I sniff the wine?
Yeah. What does it smell like?
Do you want me to? Give me give me another
(18:33):
investigation check. No, it's going to be a long
night. I got A7.
It smells like wine. Oh, my goodness.
That servant walks away and a few other guests walk up.
And these ones, very obviously, they look like members of the
village, like they're wearing kind of like drab worker
(18:55):
clothes, like a lot of them don't have fancy clothing or
enough money to like dress to match the occasion.
And one, one man walks up and kind of like rubs at the back of
his neck. He's holding a goblet.
And he takes a long drink of thewine and looks at all of you.
And he goes, I don't, I don't recognize any of you.
(19:19):
Are are you? Are are you from the village?
Kilmore speaks up and says how long have you been here,
ignoring his question. Oh, I got here a little bit
early, like they said to wait for the dinner bell.
But, you know, I, I figured if Igot here early, maybe I could
get a, get a first go at some, you know, food or wine like this
(19:42):
wine's really good. No like.
How long I? Don't know, like an hour or so,
maybe 2. Like in the in this complex or
like this guy just complex? They just led me straight here
to the, to the is this a, a banquet hall or is this a, this
isn't a throne room, right? Like, I don't know.
(20:03):
They, they just brought me straight here and I've just been
kind of, I don't know, like I guess they call it mingling.
You like this wine, huh? Name five of their albums.
I mean, it's made with grapes. All right, you pass.
Billboard's just kind of scratching his head.
He doesn't know what. To think right now, another
servant approaches and she is holding a platter and on those
(20:26):
is some kind of root vegetable and it's wrapped in bacon and it
is still sizzling like she just came out of a a door off to the
side. And she comes in with this
platter. And the villager that has
approached all of you, he immediately like grabs 2 looks
kind of sheepishly at the rest of you.
(20:47):
And it goes, well, I guess welcome to the party, right?
Like I said, the, the wine's good and you know, the, the
appetizers have been great. And he shoves one in his mouth,
and he turns and walks away. Is there a place where we can
whisper amongst ourselves without drawing attention to
what we're saying? Yeah, you, you guys can kind of
(21:08):
like make your way into like a corner of like the banquet hall
is huge. It, it is.
Let me let me think. You know, it's like 50 feet wide
and almost 100 feet long. So like, it's a large, a very
large room. There's the table that runs all
down the center. But yeah, like there's servants
walking around all over the place, other villagers who are
(21:28):
mingling and talking. There's a little bit of like
nervous laughter happening in some places.
And the five of you can definitely like, pick a corner.
However, why don't you go ahead and give me a, let's call it a
Wisdom check. I got a 6 + 3.
Yeah, there's a, there's an empty corner.
All 5 of you could group up and talk there.
(21:52):
All right, what is going on here?
This place, this place is a little more normal than I
thought it would be a little too.
Normal. That's right.
I question whether that one guy even came from the village.
I mean, I thought we were the ones coming from the village
today. Right, he thought there was
grapes in this. Just to clarify there, there
(22:13):
were other villagers who were invited up.
You 5 just took the place of five other villagers who really
did not want to go. And the village council had
essentially given you their names to impersonate them take
their place. But other villagers were
definitely invited and the others did like show up.
(22:34):
So there there is a bit of a crowd here and you would have
expected that. Gotcha, gotcha.
OK. Would I be able to?
That's right. Would I be able to go to the
bathroom for 10 minutes? Would you like to ask a servant?
Yes. Yeah, she looks at you and she
(22:55):
also kind of like is watching your feet.
And she goes, yes, absolutely follow me this way and she.
Could I have a pissing buddy if?You need a friend to join you.
I can lead both of you. I would love a friend to
accompany me. This is very tactful as far as
going to the bathroom goes. Did I go with him and maybe try
(23:16):
to sneak into the kitchen and see where the food was made?
Yeah, you. Or.
Check on the, check on the wine.Yeah, OK.
So Mikhail and T dog the Yeah, the two of you are.
It's a Rumblethrump and Nala while we're here.
Yeah, you are. The servant hands her tray to
(23:38):
another servant and she says please follow me.
And she walks through a side door.
It opens up into a narrow hallway and yeah, sure, like
you, you see another hallway that cuts to the left and down
that hallway you hear the soundsof a kitchen.
And she continues to lead the way past that hallway and
(24:02):
indicates a couple of doors thatare the the latrine.
If one of you is wanting to stealth and try to sneak, you
can give me some stealth checks.I'd like to pat T dog on the
back and say good luck in there buddy and then I would like to
enter the bathroom and if you would allow me to, I would like
to cast a ritual for detect match magic.
(24:25):
That takes 10 minutes to cast, Ibet, yeah.
That's about to how long I'm going to need to be in here.
I'm going to say please don't mind me.
This is going to be a lot of hard work to those service
guests as I'm in there. She stares at your feet and she
says I will wait here as long asit takes to guide you back.
(24:46):
Thank you. T dog, what are you doing,
buddy? I give him a nux and I kind of
awkwardly stand there beside theservant for a minute.
And maybe speak to her and try to distract her for a second.
OK, she she Yeah. What do you what do you say to
her? I just ask her how her day is
(25:08):
going and ask her what the art is on the wall while I made me
sneak away. OK, so is your intent to get her
like, caught up describing an art piece so that she's like
looking away from you and it gives you a chance to like sneak
away? Yeah, for sure.
OK, you're going to need to giveme a deception check please. 10
(25:28):
plus. 30. OK.
She continues to stare at your feet and she goes, well, nobody
ever asks about my day. It's good, I guess.
And as you point at one of the art pieces, she looks at it and
she says, I'm not super familiarwith this piece, but every now
(25:50):
and then the Duke does talk about his art.
And she turns and faces it. And she begins describing
literally what the painting is and is just talking about it.
You do have an opportunity to try to stealth if you want to
try to sneak down the hallway towards the kitchen, do you?
Want me to roll for stealth? That is a stealth check please.
(26:11):
18 + 3. You back away quietly and
slowly, and she starts getting more and more caught up in
explaining the art. And she starts talking about the
artist and talking about like the literal image versus the
figurative image versus what theartist intended to try to say.
(26:32):
And she starts waxing and waningabout like art philosophy as you
are stealthing down the hallway towards the kitchen.
We're going to cut back to our other players.
Kilbor, Grimace, and Couch. What are the three of you up to?
Still there in the main hall. Couch has just taken a glance at
(26:52):
the room and seeing everybody walk around and eating and
trying to determine if their physical states are changing.
Yeah, go ahead, give me some. Give me a medicine check.
Couch rolls an 8 + 1 on 9. Nobody's really changing,
everything seems to be normal. The couch's stomach starts to
brawl a little bit. Another servant walks up, she
(27:15):
has another platter, this one has baked shellfish on it that
seemed to have some kind of creamy sauce across the top.
And this servant walks up. He also is wearing the black and
white kind of tux uniform. Also a dark elf.
You do notice all of the servants have been dark elves.
This one walks up keeping their head turned down, holds up the
(27:38):
platter and says would you like a fresh baked oyster caught from
the Bay this morning? I'll think 1.
I'm allergic. Thank you.
Oh. OK, of course.
Looks at couch and says they're best enjoyed in one bite.
Don't, don't chew. It's an oyster.
(27:59):
Thank you for the advice. Looks at Grimace and says would
would you like one elf cousin? Oh thank you.
I'm still enjoying the last horsd'oeuvre, actually, but I'm sure
you'll make your way back around.
Yes, I'll be here all night. And he turns and makes his way
(28:19):
to another crowd of people. T Dog, you have successfully
stealthed down the hall and you're kind of like at the door
where it's half, half open and peering into the kitchen.
Go ahead and give me a investigation check.
Let's see what you see. I only got a 5 OK.
(28:43):
So if you want to stay hidden, if you want to stay out of the
kitchen with only A5, all you hear is like the clatter of
cutlery, the the the banging of pots, pans.
There is a brick oven that is lit and hot.
You could enter the kitchen and do another investigation check,
(29:07):
but you you will be seen. There's just too many people.
There's no way for you to reallyenter the kitchen and not be
noticed. OK, I'm going to.
I'm going to do that. OK.
Go ahead and give me another investigation.
Got a 19 on that one. There's a good roll, OK, 19 as
you like, push your way in. You do see there's a number of
(29:32):
prep tables. There's meat hanging on hooks.
There is the oven that has a bunch of loaves of bread that
are rising in it. You do see that there are
several casks of wine that are being used to pour and fill the
goblets. And with a 19, you do see among
(29:53):
all the servants in the black and white uniforms, there is one
who's walking around in a robe. And the one dark elves in a robe
does seem to be holding his handup over the wine after it's been
poured and as well as the food. Go ahead T Dog, give me a quick
(30:15):
Arcana check. He got a nine on that one.
You have no clue what he's casting and as you're trying to
figure it out, that same guard in the full plate armor with the
closed visor suddenly is in yourface and he says, well hey
friend, you're definitely not inthe right place.
(30:36):
Were you looking for the bathroom?
Yeah, I'm going to persuade him that I was.
I took the wrong turn. That would be a deception.
Don't forget you also have guidance if you could roll a
little. Yeah, I got an 18 on that.
One that'll do it, he says. Right, Wrong turn.
OK, well, let's turn around. Out of the kitchen, he starts to
(30:58):
guide you back down the hallway, back to where the other servant
girl is still describing that piece of art.
And the guard says, Penelope, you seem to have lost one.
And she turns around really fastand she goes, Oh my gosh, I
what? I he asked about the art.
(31:19):
And she looks at UT Dong and shesays, where, where did you go?
I was looking at other pieces ofart and accidentally turned in
towards the kitchen. Oh, don't do that.
Please stay here. And at that time, Mikhail, I'm
going to say you're finished with your ritual.
You're also able to come out if you would like to.
(31:41):
I would like to sigh in relief and come out at that time you're
like, huh? She also like, sighs in relief
and she like, waves at the guard.
And she says, OK, well, we're all done with the latrines.
We can go back to the banquet, right?
Yes, thank you. OK, great.
(32:02):
And she leads the two of you back to the banquet very
hurriedly and rushed. And the guard does walk along
behind both of you, up until sheleads you through the door back
into the main hall, where Kill Yeah, where Kilmore, Grimace and
(32:22):
Couch are also waiting for you. What happened?
There was a strange man in a different colored robe with his
hand over the wine bottles award, but I'm not sure what
spell he was casting. What about the food?
The food seemed to be OK, but I don't think any of us are hungry
(32:44):
right now. I've had the noise to love.
Where to go on there? With that, some very, very light
trumpets begin to play, like announcing someone arriving.
All the rest of the banquet hallgoes quiet, and in through the
opposite doors from the ones youcame in through, Duke himself
(33:05):
walks through. He is dressed in a very fancy
purple tunic. His hair is slicked back.
He's got the very quintessentialdark elf features, a very sharp
jaw, angular face, long pointed ears.
And he walks in and he immediately grabs a mug of wine
(33:28):
from a servant and then like, shoes them away with one hand
hurriedly. And he walks up to the head of
the banquet table and he says, villagers, people, my people,
please find your seats. The dinner is about to begin.
(33:49):
I'm so glad to have all of you here joining me tonight here at
the castle. He kind of looks around and he
goes, Rock and hollow is not a very friendly place, but that
doesn't mean that your ruler can't be friendly, of course.
(34:12):
So And he holds up the goblet and he says to everybody's good
health as a toast. And he takes a long drink of the
wine. He's probably immune to whatever
it is. Yeah, I'm not taking any drinks.
Nobody's kind of wanting to see what's going around, what
everybody else is doing around the room.
The rest of the villagers are toasting back to him.
(34:32):
Like a lot of them are looking relieved.
Like they're like, oh, like theykeep saying that people never
come back, but maybe it's because they become servants or
something. Or maybe maybe they, I don't
know, maybe he gives them a giftor something and they're able to
like move away from, you know, from Bracken maybe.
And so like, they're, they're all kind of like toasting to him
(34:52):
and they're all taking drinks and finding their seats at the
table. Do the so it sounds like nobody
is drinking the wine. Does everybody like take their
seat at the table? Let's let's try to fit in guys,
yeah. And for don't eat nothing or
drink nothing. Have I detected any magic up
until this point? Yeah.
(35:13):
So you've got your detect magic on there are.
What is the range on that? 30 feet. 30 feet every now and
then like as as you're like walking close to a wall every
now and then you're kind of getting like a ping of magic and
it's it's mostly kind of like mundane things.
Is there a like lighting? Yeah, there's like some magic
(35:34):
like thaumatergy going on. There are like you can tell that
like all of the lamps are lit with like cantrip spells to
prestiditation the the flames tolike have everything lit so it's
not consuming any oil or wood oranything like that.
So like you're, you're getting all these like little pings of
magic here and there as you approach the table.
(35:58):
Would you say that you're farther away from the Duke or
closer to the Duke? I would like to sit as closely
to the Duke as I can. How about everyone else?
I will sit beside herself. I'm gonna I'm gonna get close,
but going to have some people inbetween.
OK, I'll sit closer to the back.In the middle, I'll sit up
(36:20):
close. OK, and and who said they were
sitting further to the back? Grimace, grimace.
All right, as each of you take your seat, the the Duke remains
standing, and he watches as all the villagers take their seats.
And the platters are lifted and there's just steaming hot food.
(36:43):
There's stews and soups and breads, which is actually like a
rare commodity within bracken because there's so little
agriculture. There's not a lot of wheat, so
there's not a lot of flour, so there's not a lot of bread.
And people are just grabbing loaves and, like, tearing into
them. And the Duke stands at the front
(37:05):
table and he goes, yes, yes, people, my people enjoy, enjoy
all of the delicious food and wine and Mikel with your detect
magic. Where where I the way that my
kind of home brewed world works is a little bit different.
(37:29):
Go ahead and give me a religion check.
I got a 16 + 1. All right, bread and butter of
any good cleric. I have a + 1.
I know. Plus one I said, I said that a
little too soon. Yeah.
With a 17, your detect magic is getting a lot of pings from the
Duke. Like he's got some magic rings
(37:50):
on, He's got a necklace on that has given off some kind of
magical energy. But underneath all of that,
you're getting a lower thrum of magic that is emanating from
him. And it it feels more like it's
coming from the core of his being.
And if magic were a frequency you could hear in the air, it's
(38:14):
like a low bass beat. It is not something that you are
used to or typically hear. Very well, may I communicate
that there's something quite enchanting about the Duke to my
comrades I I do a little wink only towards them.
OK. And you're sitting as close to
the Duke as you can. I guess give me a perform like,
(38:38):
do you not want the Duke to hearyou?
Oh, I don't want the Duke to. Hear.
Yeah, that's going to have to belike a performance check, I
think. Oh no.
All right, let's let's see how your stage whisper is.
Oh, it's a 5. What?
What do you say to your to your comrades?
Oh, exactly what I said. I said the Duke is quite
enchanting tonight. GD is.
(39:04):
The the Duke. Going to invite me to his
chambers. Yeah, yeah, No, The Duke winks
back at you. No.
He takes another long drink fromhis goblet and tosses it onto
the table in front of you, and it hits with a loud clatter.
And he grabs A servant kind of roughly by the arm, pulls him
(39:24):
closer, grabs another goblet offof it and drinks that goblet all
in one gulp. And he goes yes, on nights like
these I am quite enchanting, aren't I?
Hazzah, Hazzah the the Duke. Yes, indeed.
I tell you something, friend, I don't remember the last time I
(39:44):
saw a cleric in Bracken and. He I just moved here.
His goblet at your holy symbol around your neck.
That's right, my amulet. Yeah, well, I I moved here just
recently the the church has. Ordained that we should spread
our good word to far and wide, including Bracken.
(40:07):
Oh, of course. Some far-flung evangelical
thing, Probably. As far as I'm concerned they
just wanted to get rid of me because I drink too much ha ha
and I I tip my mug towards them.That's funny because I haven't
seen you drink anything yet. My Asamar clerk, your eyes are
(40:31):
beautiful by the way. Please, I hope you're enjoying
the wine. And he grabs another off of the
tray and pushes a goblet of wineinto your hand.
Well, I better I better drink some then and then I guess, I
guess I'll have I'll put it to my lips and I'll drink some.
(40:51):
OK, not not too Hardy of a a drink, but I definitely have to
sip. And he smiles and nods, and he
goes. Yes, you clerics, you do like
your wine. That's all right.
I'm a Duke. I like my wine too.
As you drink it, nothing happens.
Oh, OK. He turns away and he goes, yeah,
(41:13):
But that said, I am going to have to send a guard down to the
village to find out exactly which church you came from
because the churches do tend to ask questions.
And when questions start gettingasked because people are
disappearing, you know, one thing leads to another.
And that's just more attention that I just don't want here in
(41:36):
Bracken Hollow. And with that, all of you feel
the table begins to rumble and rattle and all of the servants
are quickly moving away to the walls.
And the Duke says, well, I hope you've all enjoyed the wine and
the fresh food and all the hors d'oeuvres and appetizers I know
(42:00):
I have. And as the servant who was
trying to guide you, Mikhail, tothe latrine and lost track of TR
Penelope, he grabs Penelope by the elbow as she's trying to
like hurry away towards one of the exits.
And he looks at her and he says, really, dear you, you kind of
(42:24):
fucked this one up. And he pushes her towards the
table. And all at once, all of you
experience the center of the room begins to drop out as the
floor literally caves downward. And the table, the cutlery, the
food, everything pours downward into this giant gaping hole that
(42:47):
is opening up in the center of the room, and everybody is going
to be rolling initiative. Been waiting to see this map.
All right, who picked the ring of feather full A?
Couple people did, yeah, I got alot.
Now trolls in 18. T dog got an 11. 17 for Kilbor.
(43:08):
17 for Kilbor and Grimace. What did you get, 1010?
All right, and Mikhail, 1919, good initiative.
All right. The table falls inward, the
chairs slide along the floor, and all of the villagers begin
(43:29):
to panic and scream. People are trying to scramble
away from the opening floor towards the exits, but the floor
is opening too rapidly. A reverse drawbridge and
everything starts to dump down. Who had those rings of feather
fall kill board did? Who else had one?
(43:50):
Grimace grimace. Awesome.
So the two of you very slowly begin to drift downward.
You can't really change your trajectory as everyone is
falling down, but you both are going to land gingerly and
safely on the map. Couch McHale and T Dog, could I
(44:14):
please get some Dexterity savingthrows from everyone?
As the ground has given out beneath you and you are falling
suddenly 1010 is a save. T dog got a 16. 16 That's pretty
good. That is a save.
Couch rolls an 8. An 8 is a fail couch.
(44:37):
As everything is falling, you'reall able to like scramble and
kick and and you are seeing as the floor opens up that there is
this long gash that is cutting through this kind of
subterranean room that the flooris opening up to and the tables
and the chairs and all the food and everything just falls
straight down this black pit. And several villagers also just
(45:02):
fall screaming and the screams continue for a very long time.
McHale and T dog you land on either side of the table and you
land on either side of the crevice and you pass your saving
throws couch. You hit the ground kind of hard
and you know, it's it's not terrible.
(45:24):
You just like kind of like roll your ankle a bit.
Roll me AD 4 of damage please. Looking for that too.
Oh, the constant D4? Yep.
Yep, it's that custom dice in the bottom left corner.
Couch rolls a three. OK, so you take 3 points of
falling damage as you hit the ground a little a little harder
(45:47):
than intended and you hear a scream as Penelope is also
pushed and begins to fall. Kilbore or Grimace could both of
you give me, we'll call them strength saving throws.
Let's see if one of you as you are floating down, if you choose
(46:09):
to, it is up to you. Does one of you try to catch
Penelope? Kilbore got a 13 grabbing for
her. My strength sailed miserably on
it. What did you roll?
Grimace? Literally A1.
Not one. OK Penelope first like is shoved
towards you grimace and she likereaches out and you reach out
(46:33):
and you're you like high 5 each other and no one grabs anything
and she kind of like bounces offof you and starts to fall
towards down into the pit screaming as she falls.
And Kilborg, you're able to reach out at the last second.
You grab an ankle and are holding on to her.
And you are able to swing Penelope away from the crack in
(46:58):
the floor safety on the West side of the the giant gash that
cuts through the middle of this subterranean floor.
And you, Kilbor, land lightly onyour feet.
Kilbor, Kilbor, says Penelope. We got to thank the Anon for
this feather fall ring. Who's Anon?
(47:20):
The guy that gave me this ring, Yeah, come on.
She looks up and the Duke is looking down from where he was
standing. That section of floor, like did
not open up. He looks down at the six of you
and the other villagers have fallen through the crack.
And he looks and he goes. Oh well.
(47:42):
Go figure, the five people very obviously not from my village
happened to not fall down into the depths.
No matter. Enjoy your time down there,
heroes or whatever you are. And the ceiling above you begins
to lift up, encompassing all of you in the pitch black of this
(48:07):
subterranean cavern. And this is where initiative
does matter. Because I know some of you do
have dark vision. Some of you have torches.
I am. Couch has Eyes of the Eagle.
That's that's right, you have your Eyes of the Eagle item
coucher. On your turn, you'll be able to
(48:27):
put those on unless you were already wearing them.
No, that would be silly. I mean, it's up to you.
What do you what do you think, guys?
Should I have been wearing them?I I wasn't.
Wearing them. That's all right.
It's it's a bonus action to equip something like that.
OK. At the top of the turn order, we
(48:50):
have McHale with A19. McHale.
You hear a hissing sound coming from the crevice in front of
you. Do you have any kind of night
vision? I do.
I do have night vision. You see flying up out of the
(49:11):
crack in the floor is a flying snake and it comes right at you,
but it is your turn first. Very well, I will, as a bonus
action, make sure that I have myMason Shield equipped.
Yeah. Absolutely.
And then I would like to is it within range for me to attack
(49:32):
or? Yeah.
It comes right at you. I would like to strike at it
with my plus one Mace all. Right, go ahead and make that
attack roll. It is a 15 + 2.
Yeah, that definitely hits. Go ahead, roll some damage.
I've. Got a three?
You club this thing once real good, it hisses and slithers in
(49:53):
the air but is still alive. May I yell out on your guard to
those behind me? Yeah, absolutely.
OK, so that was Mikhail at 19. Next up, believe it or not, is
that same flying snake. A flying snake is going to fly
at you and take a bite. Does a 11 hit you?
(50:15):
It does not. Bounces off your shield missing
and Slytherin through the air ina very unnatural way.
Next up is Couch Adventure with an 18.
Can you handle that snake on your own shirt?
It hasn't hit me yet. Maybe or my it says so maybe for
(50:37):
my bonus action can I equip the eyes of the eagle?
Absolutely. And for our listeners at home,
please read What do the Eyes of the Eagle do for you?
These crystal lenses fit over the eyes.
While wearing them, you have an advantage on Wisdom perception
checks that rely on sight and conditions of clear visibility.
You can make out the details of even extremely distant creatures
(51:00):
and objects as small as 2 feet across.
That's really good. Why did I give you guys access
to that? Cool, glad you did.
Bonus action, you got your goggles on and right there next
to you is another flying snake. Well, I see the snakes are
deadly, or at least they try to be.
So I want to attack the snake. Absolutely.
(51:20):
I have my great axe equipped. Yeah, give it a swing.
Couch rolls a 14 + 5 and 19. A 19 definitely hits the flying
snake roll some damage. Couch rolls a 1 + 3 of 4.
OK, same thing. You slice into this flying snake
and it hisses and makes a squealing sound and is wriggling
in the air above your head. What do I have left?
(51:42):
I have I have movement. Movement, yes.
And I move in front of Penelope on the other side of the snake
to get protect her a little bit.Yeah, absolutely.
You circle around the flying snake, you're staying kind of
like within range of it so it doesn't get any free attacks on
you. But you do place yourself bodily
between it and Penelope, who is for her part like crouched on
(52:05):
the ground, like hands over her head, crying and screaming.
Anything else there for couch you're?
Going to be OK Kelpi. All right.
It's the end of my turn. Well Next up is going to be that
snake that you just took a sliceof and instead of biting at
Penelope it does bite at you andit rolled A gnat one.
(52:28):
I assume A5 does not hit. I didn't feel a Fang.
Yeah, Nope, boy, so much for my flying snakes, Kilbar.
That is going to bring us to you, Sir.
Yeah, I kind of want to talk to Penelope real quick, you know,
and if I've got to use a skill to do that, I want to ask her
what we're going to expect, whatwe need to expect down here or
(52:50):
what's going what's going on. Or we need to do it, pull her
around and that's a free action to talk to people so that that
doesn't take a bonus action or like a attack action or
anything. So you ask her and she shakes
her head and she says, I don't know what happens down here.
I don't know what happens down here.
I just know that the the Duke does this and everybody falls in
and nobody comes back. All right, all right, I'm going
(53:14):
to use my ring of shooting stars, so I'm going to cast some
ball lightning, right? So basically I can expend 2
charges as an action to create one to four 3 foot diameter
spheres of lightning, and each sphere appears in an unoccupied
space where you can see within 120 feet.
(53:38):
The spheres last as long as I concentrate.
Kilbore Yeah. Do you have dark vision?
I don't know. I wouldn't try to get under
your. Features and traits.
I don't believe dragonborns havedark vision.
You do have in your inventory you have like torches and things
like that. You could use your well, the
(53:59):
ball to light up a torch. Well, the ball lightning puts
off light too. You know what?
Yeah. That's kind of cool.
You you summon up a couple ballsof lightning and they they do,
they light up the cavern. I that's that's kind of badass.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna allow it. Yeah, it says the spheres last
as long as you concentrate for up to one minute.
Each sphere sheds a dim light ina 30 foot radius.
(54:22):
As a bonus action, I can move each sphere up to 30 feet, blah
blah blah. Yeah, so you can make.
And if it comes, if it I'm goingto do, yeah, I think I'm going
to do 2 and I want to put one onthe other side of Penelope and
then one. Let me see if I can.
(54:43):
Because you you could position right in here to be like in next
to the flying snakes. And then I think that it would
just trigger on each of them, wouldn't it?
I I within 5 feet it triggers. Yeah.
So you, you are within 30 feet of both snakes.
(55:05):
So I mean you, you could play some next to both snakes and
have it trigger if you'd like oryou can place them defensively
in other places if you would prefer.
Totally up to you only. Defensive places.
I put some XS on the map. Yeah, I I see that and that
those areas glow with we're, we're not even just being cool
here. This is just literally in the
rules for the item. Everybody sees these two balls
(55:27):
glowing and they light up the West side of the cavern.
I believe that's an action to some of those.
Is that correct? Bonus action.
It's a OK, well, you still have your action available, OK and
your movement. I've got a long sword.
I'm just going to kind of, I'm going to like tell Penelope to
(55:47):
kind of stay behind me and I'm going to run over there and I'm
going to get that snake by by couch with my long sword.
Yeah, let's do that attack roll.16 + 6 for 22.
Absolutely hits. All right, two handed here.
(56:08):
All right. So 2 + 4 is 6.
Tip to tail, you cut that flyingsnake clean in half and you do
not hit couch at all. Oh, thank you, Clayton.
There's always a first for something here.
Yeah, little little ongoing inside joke.
Kilborn and Couch have both accidentally hit each other more
(56:30):
than a couple times. Yeah, that arm still has the
stairs. Right.
OK, Kilborn, you have killed that flying snake.
Anything else that you were doing there on your turn?
Just maybe trying to get to protect Penelope there.
Perfect. Or having her get close to us.
One of the two, yeah. She kind of like is cowering
(56:51):
between you and the crackling electric ball of magic behind
her that's lighting up the cavern.
With that, on the east side of the room, everybody hears a very
odd, unnatural uncanny valley kind of sound.
(57:12):
It begins as this long, angry howl that devolves into this
very throaty, wet tongue hissingsound and T dog and grimace.
(57:34):
They're on the east side, comingfrom the hallway to the east.
You see a pack of creatures you have never seen before, crawling
it. They're half crawling, half
Slytherin. Their front halves of their
bodies are wolves. They look like German shepherds,
(57:56):
and they've got the long nose, the pointed ears, the front legs
as paws. But halfway down their torso,
the bodies distend and combine into the lower half of the body
of a snake. And the lower body is Slytherin
forward with the wolf paws clamoring and clawing forward.
(58:18):
And a couple of these K9 serpentwolves come crawling out from
the east hallway. And this is a shout out to our
first sponsor of the night. This was coming from our
sponsors and friends over at K9 Pulse.
(58:38):
Digital bought three of these bad boys.
They are grouped together, so itis a single marker on the map,
but there are three of these Serpentine wolves represented by
that marker, and they are movingtogether as a single unit.
You would say they're running with the pack.
They could be running as a pack, yes.
(59:02):
With that it is their turn and with their keen hearing and
smell T dog. They pick up on your half work
stank right away and that Wolf Pack is going to come in and
make a couple attacks at you. T dog.
I assume a six is going to be a miss.
(59:24):
Does a 13 hit you? No.
And does an 18 hit you? It probably does sting a little.
The six misses, the 13 misses the 18 is going to be a hit.
The dogs surround you, their jaws snapping and Slytherin
their tongues and rolling out tothe side.
The tongues are forked, half dogtongue, half snake tongue as
(59:47):
they flick wetly in the air. One of them slithers forward and
bites into your leg and you take4 points of piercing damage and
T dog, could you please give me a strength saving throw?
I got a 6 + 4 a 10. 10 is a failthat wolf bites into your leg
(01:00:14):
and pulls you to the ground. You are not prone on the ground.
All that means is when you are prone on the ground, that means
any creature attacking you has advantage when they attack.
Thankfully it was the last dog that attacked and did that, so
everyone else has missed and that is the end of their turn.
(01:00:35):
And T dog it is now your turn. You have the opportunity to use
your movement to get back on your feet and you've got a pack
of wolves all. Around you.
OK, I'm going to stay and try tofight them then all.
Righty, let's swing to hit all. Right, I'm going to use my Mace
plus one. I got a 6 + 5 and 11. 11 is a
(01:00:58):
miss I'm afraid. The Slytherin dog like crouches
low, slithers away and then is the three of them are circling
around you. Have anything else you would
like to do with your turn there?Yeah, I'm definitely going to
shout out for some help and Kilbour move his his electric
(01:01:19):
over here closer to me. On his turn, absolutely T dog.
Anything else? Or is it Grimace's turn?
It's going to be a grimace's turn.
All right, Grimace. You have waited very patiently.
There at the bottom of the initiative.
You lightly finally land on yourfeet on the ground.
(01:01:40):
They're flying snakes in all directions, pack of half snake,
half canine dogs, Slytherin out from the hallway.
What is Grimace doing? Well, it looks like a much more
lively party down here. I'm going to go ahead and do
bonus action hex blade curse on this dog snake looking character
(01:02:02):
and then I will shoot an Eldridge blast at it.
Absolutely. So just again, for our listeners
at home, let us know what is that hex blade curse?
Yeah, so I explained curse essentially just gives a + 2 to
damage rolls and lets you do critical hit on a 19 or 20, but
(01:02:25):
it's kind of irrelevant because I only rolled A9.
Yeah, a nine is a miss, but I believe the Hexblade curse stays
in effect. Yeah, it lasts for one minute.
That's like 10 rounds of combat. So that'll still be in place if
you attack again on your next turn, right?
Yep. Okie doke, that's going to bring
(01:02:46):
us back to the top of the initiative with McHale flying.
Snake is just flying and bangingits head uselessly against your
shield there. What is McHale doing?
Oh well. I'm going to have to address the
snake before I do anything else,so I'm going to take a swing at
it. I'd like to shout out to
(01:03:06):
communicate with anyone behind me.
Is there anyone else who can't quite see in this darkness?
And then see if there's any feedback from that.
You've got like 30 foot from my sphere, so you can pretty much
see almost all of the cavern. Yeah, that's up until yeah.
It's you can see the whole way. Up to the North End.
(01:03:28):
I'm just going to go ahead and take a swing at the snake in
front of me then. All right, let's go.
I roll a unnatural 20. Dirty to me.
Roll some damage. I got a 5.
Mikhail same thing. Your club comes down, you crush
this thing's head and it, like abaseball, careens away from your
(01:03:50):
Mace and goes down the endless pit where the screams of the
following villagers has finally stopped.
This wasn't an apple he wanted to take a bite of.
And that flying snake is dead. Let's see here you heard T dog
shouts. And just on the very edges of
(01:04:11):
the light coming from the orbs, you can see this unnatural
Slytherin clawing, howling movement on the other side of
the chasm. Across from you, on your side of
the chasm, you can see that the chasm is about 20 feet wide.
But all the way at the South endof the chasm, there does seem to
(01:04:34):
be something stretching across the distance.
I would like to use your movement.
You can head down that directionto investigate it if you are
wanting to go across to the other side.
Yeah, I would like to go ahead and start making my way over
there. Is there any checks that I
should make as I approach? No, because you have all the
light that you need. What is your movement?
30 feet. Yeah, well, we'll just say
(01:04:54):
you're able to make your way past Kilbor Couch and Penelope,
who's still kind of just crouching and shivering.
And you can see down here, stretching across the chasm is
very thick spider webs from one side to the other.
OK, could I shout that out and then finish my term?
(01:05:16):
Would you like to like use your bonus action to investigate it?
Yeah, I'd like that. Is it nature or investigation?
I'll I'll let you choose nature or investigate, whichever,
whichever you're better at. The same for me.
OK, whatever you think Mikhail would do.
I got a four so. It's a big old spider web.
(01:05:38):
Nice. All right, that is going to
bring us to Flying Snake 1. Nope.
They were cut in half. Or no, they were clubbed to
death. That is going to bring us to
couch. Can I do a vision check on the
spider web to see if I can see any objects?
Absolutely. You using those eagle goggles?
(01:05:58):
You can see in that web there's a plethora of small spiders, but
no, no like giants, but like thethe the maker of that web does
not appear to be present. But with your perfect eagle
eyes. No, I'm supposed to be making
(01:06:18):
you do a check. I think you get advantage.
But I do need you to give me either an investigate or a
nature. I almost got them, almost going
to do investigation. You've got a really cool item,
but it doesn't it doesn't mean you don't have to roll the dice.
I got a 70. Guys, does does the goggles give
(01:06:41):
you any kind of advantage or is it just that you can see like in
any light? Just 4 per section checks.
Well, it says it says it says. In conditions of clear
visibility, you can make out details of being extremely
distant creatures. I see.
So with the with the balls of light, is it clear visibility?
(01:07:03):
Well, we'll say there's enough visibility you can see.
And yeah, that that it tells youthat you can make out extremely
distant creatures and details a little vague.
I'm just going to give it to youbecause you have a cool item and
items are cool. You can tell that the strands of
web on this are much thicker andusing your goggles, specifically
(01:07:28):
in the blue orb light, you can see that that web is currently
holding a very wrapped up mummified shape that appears to
be in the shape of a human body that was caught probably at one
of the previous banquets, and the web is holding that weight
without any issue. OK, I'll be very.
(01:07:49):
Careful over this. Can I do more than one check
vision check per term? I'll say that you can either use
your action to do another check,or you can use your movement to
do another check. It is your choice.
I still want to be raging. OK.
Well, I enter rage there. Always be raging.
(01:08:12):
Always duration and then the waythat the map looks, it looks
like I can see down the corridorthat kind of opened up.
One to the West there. And yeah, with your vision, you
can also kind of see down the east to the West corridor, you
see a pile of rock rubble has collapsed.
(01:08:32):
That hallway is caved. In the east you see a number of
other webs from the direction that the snake wolves came from.
And as you look to the north, you actually see The Cave.
There's a 10 foot lip that goes up, but you can see that there
is actually a hole in the wall 10 feet up off the ground of the
(01:08:54):
North End of this cavern. And it extends to the north.
But you can't see further down that way just because of the
angle. But you can see there is a path
to the north. With Tea Dog and Grimace on the
side of the bulbs, Mattel going over there team in Kilbor, do
you think it's wise for me to gonorth and check out that area?
(01:09:16):
The east or the West is blocked or the east is blocked.
So the West is blocked by rubble, the east is open, but
you see that it kind of like opens up into AT intersection.
You can't see in either direction where it goes, and
then to the north 10 feet up offthe ground you are able to see
that there is a hole that leads down another path, you just
(01:09:38):
can't see down it. But basically, do we all want to
try to get to the same side or do we want to start splitting up
and see where we can go? Let's get these dogs.
Yeah, I would say, look, focus on killing this thing first and
then we can all bored together, yeah.
Let's stay together if we can. Well the only thing I have for
(01:09:59):
range is the handouts I can throw.
Yeah, you can give that hand axea throw.
Let's throw a hand axe at one ofthem wolves.
Let's go roll anything but a Gnat 1.
You should a 1 + 5 six. Did you really roll a gnat 1?
Yeah, you just. You just said not to T dog he's.
(01:10:23):
Thrown. Oh no, he he used his movement
to get back up on his turn. Oh no.
Couch, go ahead and roll damage.I blamed the beer in the pub.
Oh, a 2 + 3 of 5. T dog you feel a hand axe lodge
into your shoulder blade from behind as Couch hurls his hand
(01:10:47):
axe across the chasm at the wolves and stabs you in the back
and you take. Five points of damage.
That did not feel good. Wait till Kilbore shoots a hero
at it, you'll be fine. Couch mixed.
Mixed bag of a turn. Anything else Couch would like
(01:11:10):
to do? Yeah, I guess if we want to
stick together, I'll go up to the spider webs.
I don't want to be on them in case they're the white pin.
Sure. So yeah, you you move up there
next to Mikhail and the spider webs.
And I am raging, so I'm good to go all.
Right T dog, I'm gonna be kind to you and I'm not gonna add
that +2 of rage damage to that and hand axe in your.
(01:11:34):
Back. Yeah, yeah, That would have
taken me down to 0, no? OK.
Who's our clerk? Kilbore, it's it's your turn.
All right, all right. OK, so as a bonus action, I'm
going to move my spheres and I'mgoing to move them right next to
(01:11:59):
them Wolves. It's going to get dark in here,
boys. OK.
So you're moving both orbs over. Both orbs over.
All right, go ahead and move them.
I know that does a specific kindof damage, so go ahead and roll
both. OK, so 2 spheres, each one gives
5D4. 5D4 OK, awesome. And and you're throwing both of
(01:12:24):
them at the wolves. OK, because again, T dog is
right there. I am.
This is something that happens sometimes when people are
engaged in melee. I'm going to ask you to do an
arcana check to gauge how how well you're able to control the
orbs and avoid T dog. I'm going to say it again.
(01:12:44):
Just don't roll on that one. Oh my gosh, you had to say it.
Oh, poor T dog. I got it.
I got a nine, OK. T Dog the hairs on your arms and
neck stand on end as you feel this electricity wrap around you
on either side of these two orbs.
Go and just move around you on either side.
(01:13:08):
Kilbor. Roll that damage on those canine
wolves. All right.
The first set I rolled plus 3, so 11 on that first one.
OK, all right, here we go. Well. 12 damages so much kilbor
that item I swear. Well, it's done after this,
(01:13:29):
right? I got a few more charges.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, the wolves howl, and the
hair singes and fries, and the cavern fills with the smell of
burning hair. The three canine wolf snakes are
still alive, but they are very, very hurt.
And it is the wolves turn. Oh, that was just my bonus
(01:13:52):
action. Oh, you're right.
OK, What would you like to do with your action?
OK, let's see here. You know it got pretty dark in
here, so I might as well I'm going to go ahead and use two
more charges. All right, And this time I'm
going to go ahead and do, excuseme, 4 spheres and let's say the
(01:14:21):
wolf on the the one that got thelast hit, I'm going to throw two
of them right there. OK.
And then I'm going to throw one of them on the other side to hit
the other guy and then I'm going.
To like 1 unit on the map, therejust happens to be like 3 wolves
as part of that one creature, sohitting one of them hits all of
them. Oh, OK, they.
(01:14:43):
Are operating as a swarm. OK, well let's just say it this
way. I want to throw 3 spheres at
that pack of wolves and then I'mgoing to leave.
Actually, no. Then let's do it this way.
Sorry. 2 spheres and one of themat the pack of wolves, and then
one of them on the other side ofthe chasm there away from the
(01:15:07):
animals. I want to leave that one to go,
so that'll be one more 5D4 or that pack of wolves.
OK, go ahead and roll those. 11.OK, the wolves are still
standing, leading, charred and electrocuted.
(01:15:29):
I'm just going to let you guys know they have two hit points,
kill board. Is there anything else you can
try to do on your turn there? I think I can.
I'm going to run. Let's see.
Can I make it across, I wonder? Probably not.
I think I can get over there. I'm going to get over there,
behind that, in front of Penelope.
(01:15:50):
I'll tell you right now, there'smath that like determines how
far you can jump. And in DND it's pretty in my
opinion, it's it's kind of jankyfor heroes to like only be able
to jump like 6 feet. I'm going to say right at the
narrowest point there is the spider webs that you could try
(01:16:13):
to make your way across if you want to go that route.
If you want to just straight jump it at the narrowest point,
there it is ADC 12 and if you fail, you will be in trouble.
But it's you're not just going to like, fall into the pit and
die. Yeah, I do have that ring.
(01:16:34):
Yeah, you have feather fall. Yeah.
No, you can absolutely make the job.
It's it's ADC 8. Go for it.
OK, all right, cool. Let's do it.
So. Done.
You said DC-8, right? Yeah.
Acrobatics check please. Acrobatics check.
OK, if we'll do acrobatics. A non who gifted free items to
(01:16:54):
the players. Yeah.
Blah blah. Oh yeah.
It's still labor dice. I rolled a that one on the
athletics check. No I mean acrobatics check and
that I had a so I was got a 2. Huh.
(01:17:15):
OK, you have feather fall, so here's.
The trippin fall really slowly. Deal Kilbor You run and jump and
whether you meant to on purpose or it just happened mid jump you
angle forward almost as if you were diving and you swan dive
(01:17:41):
head first into the opposite rock wall and you ring your
bell. You are going to take two points
of of concussive damage here as you go head first into the wall
and you are very slowly beginning to fall.
(01:18:03):
Someone is going to have to do something to catch you soon as
you are slowly drifting down into the abyss.
Help 2 points damage kilbor you have already.
You can't quite reach the lip asyou reach up for it as you are
(01:18:25):
feather falling down. Someone is going to have to
reach down and catch your hand. That that is how that works.
You all thought I was drunk. Yeah.
I'm pretty clumsy. When I say don't roll Nat one
boys, I mean it. That is going to be the wolves
turn OK T dog. Brace yourself, buddy.
(01:18:47):
Yep, here we go. First roll.
A 14 I believe. That's a miss.
Your AC was a 15. Correct.
Second, roll a GNAT 20. That hurt.
Then. T dog the wolves are around you
(01:19:08):
on all side snapping in their Slytherin tongues, hanging out
from the sides of their mouths. Third attack was a miss but that
that Nat 20 hits you for 17 damage.
I'm cooked, boys. What's your total hit points?
(01:19:31):
11. Oh, that's more.
Sounded like the Duke didn't like religion.
OK. He's got some like relentless
endurance I think, or something.Oh, you do.
I do have resistance and spare the dying.
No hold on your this I think is going to save you from literally
(01:19:57):
dying because if you go negativeyou're Max health you are deadly
dead. Saving for us, but as a half
fork. Relentless Endurance once per
long rest when your HP is reduced to 0.
This does say but not killed outright.
I'm going to ignore the words but not killed outright.
(01:20:21):
Your HP goes to 1 instead of 0, so you only have one of these
per long rest. T dog, I am going to bend the
rules because I don't want to kill my player on his first one
shot with us. The dogs all rush in from
different angles, biting into your ankles, elbows, 1 clamps
(01:20:41):
around your neck, all three of them pulling you to the ground.
You are prone again but with your relentless endurance you
are at one HP and it is now yourturn.
T Dog. OK, I'm going to stand up and
I'm going to attack all. Right, let's go.
(01:21:02):
I got a 17 + 5 A 22. That is a hit and T dog, there's
no way they can survive. Tell all of us how T dog, the
half Ork monk finishes off this mutated, grotesque aberration of
(01:21:23):
Serpentine wolves. I'm gonna chop his head off and
I'm gonna show it to everybody. All three of them.
What do you say to everybody as you're holding three dog heads
in your hands? That hurts and I still got an
axe in my shoulder. Grimace, we're we're just going
(01:21:45):
to resolve this real quick. You definitely saw Kilbourg go
head first into the Cliff. Would Grimace like to do
anything? Yeah, I can run over and try to
grab him. Yeah, Go ahead, give me a
strength check. I'm going to say with advantage
because he has feather fall. I'm not good at strength checks
but let's see what happens. It's not very hard, I promise.
(01:22:07):
10 and 9, so 10 would be my strongest. 10 was the DC.
You grab hold of Kilber's hand at the last like you have to lay
down, reach down. Kilbor's reaching up as he
slowly is just floating downward.
(01:22:27):
You lock hands and you are able to pull Kilbor up out of the
crevice, down into the abyss, and we are now officially out of
initiative. You have slain my canine sponsor
and the flying snakes puzzle. Well, who knew?
(01:22:49):
Good save Grimace. Thank you, Sir.
Thank you. Good save everyone, we made it
so far. Penelope looks over the edge of
the crevice and she says. Well, almost everyone.
We haven't forgotten. That's the truth, Penelope.
She's mentioning all the people that fell down into the abyss
it. Doesn't have to be that
(01:23:11):
negative. She looks for you, Mikaela, she
says. I'm kind of in a negative mood,
yeah. Fair.
Don't worry, we'll we'll get to the bottom of this one for you.
Like, like they did. All right, guys, Would anybody
like to investigate those serpent wolves?
(01:23:37):
Yes, please. I don't have to worry about the
spider web since you're out of combat.
All that was was a chance to getstuck and have your movement
reduced to zero. Since we're not in combat
anymore there, there's no real like, good reason to worry about
that. I'd like to investigate T dog's
wounds and cast Cure wounds on him.
Absolutely you can do that. I got 14 total for that.
(01:24:01):
Yeah, I think that brings him upto full health.
Thank you, Sir. Thank you.
How do you how do you take the axe out of his back?
I'm. Going to be like, don't worry,
I'll be gentle. And then I put my foot down on
his shoulder and just yank. Yeah, who did this?
Couch. That was Couch.
Can I have that back? Yeah, I was about to say, who
(01:24:24):
did this belong to? Here you go, couch.
Try not to lose it next time. Awesome guys.
It happens all the time on the road.
If you guys would like, you havethe opportunity to do some
survival checks if you want to like investigate these canine
wolves that were here. Who has who is very intelligent
(01:24:44):
around here? Couch has +3 on survival.
I'm on a -2. I'd like to slap couches bottom
with some guidance and then say good luck there champ.
OK. Thank you.
Go ahead and give me some survival checks on those dead
bodies. Couch rolls a 9 + 3.
(01:25:07):
Oh, don't forget to roll AD 4/2.Yep, you have guidance. +2 so 14
total. Yep, 14 is a pass.
Go ahead and roll the other two.Oh, cuz there's three, right?
Yeah, there's 33 carcasses. So 15 + 3 + 419. 19 OK.
(01:25:28):
And a said plus 3 + 215. Awesome.
All three of those are a pass, so you get a good look and you
can tell right away. Ouch.
As you're investigating these creatures, they are not natural,
they are not something that exists in nature.
These are aberrations, and they are some grotesque fusion of
(01:25:53):
chaos magic. And most everyone knows in the
homebrew world that I have created, thousands of years ago,
the earth was destroyed and shattered by a God that was
called the Crippled God. And in recent years, there have
(01:26:13):
been more and more reports and talks about creatures of chaos
becoming more common. And a lot of people whisper that
maybe the Crippled God was coming back or that he was
warming up to destroy the world again.
And Mikhail, now that these things are dead, you don't have
to do a check. But with your previous religion
(01:26:35):
check, you're getting that same low level bass beat arcana like
detect magic from these creatures.
And with talking with Couch, youknow what you were feeling
before was absolutely the corruption of chaos coming from
the Duke, and that is what's on these wolves.
(01:26:58):
It seems that the Duke is very similar to these wolves, as
enchanting as we had of a momenttogether as he looked in my eyes
and I looked in his. It seems that we're playing with
chaos here, boys. Yeah, I've in my studies and and
the stories that I've heard Couch, you remember that the God
(01:27:23):
Slayer Sarah, the character we've seen on our last little
escapade. I think this is related.
It seems related. Yeah, I did.
AI did a couple rolls on the survival and I got A0A20 and not
20, but I've got -1 on it. So I got a 19 and then and then
(01:27:44):
a two. So I got A0A19 and A1.
OK. So we're going to we're going to
resolve Couch first because he did go first.
So Couch, as you are investigating these things,
you're realizing there's also some other elements of these
creatures having once been humanoid as you're looking and
(01:28:10):
kill bore like with your role, you're like maybe pulling out
some teeth, you know, and like collecting some like pieces of
them. And Couch though as the person
who did the first survival checks and passed, you're
noticing like human molars are in the mouths and you realize
that these were once humans. And as you're investigating the
(01:28:31):
body you feel in the snake like part there is something like
pushing. There's a hard edge that's
pushing against the skin like itswallowed something.
Couch, could you please roll ME3D 10s?
918. OK, so I have to do another
(01:28:57):
shout out to one of our sponsorsat again at Canine.
They sponsored a number of itemsto be included in today's
episode that they bought for theheroes couch.
As you're doing those investigations, you check, you
feel that there's like somethingthat these things had swallowed.
The barbarian in you takes over. You start cutting them open and
(01:29:19):
in the first wolf serpent you find a staff like a whole ass
wizard staff that you are able to pull out.
In the second wolf you cut into it and you pull out a long sword
out of that thing's snake like body and the third body had a
(01:29:42):
very odd shape in it, very like rotund and round and hard and
you pull a hot out of it. Interesting.
So for our listeners at home whoare wondering what is going on,
all of our players here at DND 721, they have the opportunity
to pick some free items with their adventures and they also
(01:30:04):
have some additional things thatthey can purchase using our in
game currency which is also called DND 7/21 and canine
sponsored 3 Tier F items. These are the $5 items that are
permanent and kept between games.
Couch as the person who was elected to do these checks, and
(01:30:27):
since you did all three of them in a row and passed, you now
have a + 1 long sort of Pot of Awakening and a Staff of the
Python. Now you can choose to give these
to whoever you would like. These are three permanent magic
items that are here for three players.
(01:30:48):
That is fantastic. Thank you, Chainine Woof.
Woof. Yeah, guys, I'm not attached to
these items, so if your character can take advantage of
them, please let me know. Are these still covered in snake
dog chaos goop? Yeah, a little bit.
OK, I'd like to de soil them with prestidigitation.
(01:31:10):
Yeah, absolutely. You clean them right up.
Good as no. For our listeners who might be
wondering what is a pot of awakening, it is a wondrous
common item. If you plant an ordinary shrub
in this pot, it's a 10 LB clay pot, and if you let it grow for
30 days, the shrub magically transforms into an awakened
(01:31:34):
shrub. And that awakened shrub, its
roots break the pot, destroying it.
And the awakened shrub is friendly towards you and is
basically a little walking shrubfamiliar.
That's super cool. I thought it was going to be
like. Some simple commands I.
Thought it was going to be coffee related.
(01:31:56):
I I could have made it somethingcoffee related, but yeah, no.
The pocket awakening. It's a it's a big awkward pot,
but if somebody would like to take claim to the pot, you can
have that permanently added to your inventory.
You're called Couch, Yeah. If nobody's interested, I'll
(01:32:18):
keep it for sure. I do have a staff of the Python.
I don't think Barbarians carry stats, do they?
Not typically, so I am putting that description also into our
telegram. Staff of the Python is kind of a
arcane or druidic focus of a staff.
It can be used by clerics, druids, or warlocks.
(01:32:41):
You can use an action to speak the staff's command and you
throw the staff on the ground. It becomes a giant constrictor
snake. It follows the monster rules of
a giant constrictor snake and you can control it and it acts
on its own initiative in combat. You can use a bonus action to
command it to do something, or to return it to its normal staff
(01:33:03):
form. On your turn, you can mentally
command it if it's within 60 feet of you.
You decide what action the snaketakes, if it's going to bite or
move or do something else, and if the snake is reduced to zero
hit points, it dies and turns back into a staff, and the staff
then shatters and is destroyed. If the snake reverts to a staff
(01:33:26):
before losing all of its hit points, it regains all of its
hit points, and the staff can also just be used as a weapon
with one or two hands. Who did you say can use it?
Druids. And what else?
Clerics, druids, and warlocks. Good.
Do we have druids in the party or no?
You have a cleric. Grimace Warlock.
(01:33:49):
Grimace, it's either McHale or yeah.
So I mean, either way, I'm OK with what you guys.
I want nothing to do with these Serpentine creatures.
Fair game for you. That is, I'll be glad to wield
it. All righty.
All right. It is yours.
Thank you, Sir. I think generous.
(01:34:10):
Of you. The plus one long sword for
somebody. Unless you were keeping that
couch. I don't need it.
Yeah, if he doesn't need it, I'll keep it from him.
OK. And you're keeping the pot as
well. Yeah, you can't take my paw.
OK, All right, that resolves that.
Again, thank you to Canine for sponsoring our heroes and
(01:34:34):
getting those some extra magic items for this adventure.
And again, these items are permanent.
We'll be able to carry these between one shot adventures with
your heroes. Thank you.
Candy cool. Yeah, that was awesome.
That said, the cavern, you have the tunnel to the north and
you've got the hall to the east. You guys can decide if you want
(01:34:56):
to move together or if you want to split up.
It's up to you guys. You got to figure out a way out
of these out of this dungeon. We're always, I'm not too on the
east side. Here I'm not too big on tunnels.
Are there still giant lightning orbs floating around I.
Think there's one? One, yeah, and you can kind of
(01:35:17):
like out of combat, freely move it around with you all to light
up the area. Doesn't Couch see anything down
this chord? Just the wall down at the end.
Would you like to go down there and look around?
I'm all for it. You guys ready?
Yep. Are we all done and shielded and
good to go? Yep, ready to see?
I got we'll, we'll put that orb in front of us and just let it
(01:35:40):
light the way and it'll take a crack at the first thing it
sees, but it might get dark. Oh, that is true.
OK, I'm going to keep that in mind as you guys get down to
that East End. You see off to the right it ends
in a it ends in a dead end, bothleft and right.
To the right you see a corpse that is wrapped up mummified in
(01:36:06):
webbings, and to the left you see a large number of wrapped
up, very old, very withered, dilapidated corpses and a lot of
spider webs. Guys, I think we're going to see
a spider tonight. You know, that's a lot of silk,
(01:36:27):
and I wonder if there's anythingon those dead bodies.
Can I go check out the one on the bottom?
Looks like it might be fresher. Yeah, I you can go down and give
me an investigation check. Maybe someone else should do
this. I get a -, 1 What I can do for
fun. Let's see.
It's for fun. Oh, my gosh.
Nat 20. Nat 20 Yeah, you start
(01:36:48):
searching. You're very quickly fine.
This guy's been sucked dry, but all of his, like, his armor is
broken and dented. This is someone else who, like,
fell down in here a long time ago and at one point or another
was trying to survive much like the rest of you, and did finally
succumb to something and then was wrapped up in webs and
(01:37:11):
drained. But as you are rifling through
the silk and batting away the smaller spiders, you find a
potion of healing still corked and perfectly intact among his
things. Yeah, definitely some in handy
on this image. The sword and shield are rusted
(01:37:33):
through and brittle and basically broken.
They they are not usable or valuable.
Same with the armor like it it again, the corpse has been down
here for a long time. All right, cool.
Does my character recognize likethe armor at all like any like
sigils he recognizes or that's agood question.
(01:37:54):
Well, what is Grimace's religious like, background or
knowledge? I mean, he doesn't have any
particularly religious background, so I guess he'll
just fall on any kind of common knowledge he may have of the
region. Another thing I get online, this
war, not so good on that one war.
(01:38:15):
Yeah, it's the usual church stuff.
All right, No. Worries, you know, I want to
kind of check out, check out oneof those I got.
I'm pretty good with religion here.
Yeah, if. You and if that Waldo on the
back go a bit of guidance. Yeah, go for it.
Roll with that D4 for guidance. So D4 and.
(01:38:37):
And a religion check. OK.
So that's 22. 22 Yeah. You recognize the symbol now?
I know Kilbor, you're you're suffering from a little bit of
amnesia, right? That's part of your back story.
I woke up one day, then suddenlyyou were in the Australian arena
(01:38:57):
and then you in couch in a yet to be told adventure escaped
from the arena. Yes, Sir.
The symbol is not the same as your paladin symbol, but it
looks very similar. Interesting.
Perhaps some intrigue? Older Order of Knights or
(01:39:22):
Templar? So yeah, I just kind of nod with
respect and kind of look around, yeah.
Does anybody want to check out the thick corner of spider webs
that is off to the left there? You can't get a little sticky,
right? Or Yeah, yeah.
(01:39:43):
It's it is covered in webs, but there's also a lot of withered
bodies in there. Is there there ain't any spiders
or anything like that? There's a plethora of spiders.
Good. Should I throw my torch at it
and light it on fire or do we care about the corpses?
Totally up to you. I mean, they're dead.
Can their dad? That's a.
(01:40:04):
That's a I mean, there's a lot of silk there.
I mean, I don't know how long ittakes us to collect the silk.
Is it? Is it worth much?
Silk does carry some value, but you know, you're you're kind of
more in like survival mode than treasure hunting mode. 10-4
Gotcha. Light it up.
Light it up. Do I need oil to line it up or
(01:40:27):
just use? The torch and yeah the the webs
go up in a very hot bright inferno.
Smoke fills the cavern, and the teeny tiny squealing, screeching
sounds of thousands and thousands of spiders burning,
(01:40:49):
and the corpses, also old and withered, basically kindling
themselves, also go up in flames.
The long and short of it is anything that was in there is
gone now. Be cool.
Wait, that was kind of creepy. I hope it didn't wake anything
else up. Let's go check this stuff real
quick and get out of here. Oh yeah, there's, there's
(01:41:11):
nothing there. As as you take the time to let
it all burn away, fire basicallyconsumes everything.
If there was anything of value in that corner, it's gone.
Therefore, it looks like we got to go crawl through a tunnel.
Yeah. Oh, I'm claustrophobic.
(01:41:33):
Gilmore, Wiz. Or Waldo Wiz.
Both. All righty, you guys make your
way back around to the main chamber.
I I'm just going to be kind of kind to like expedite things a
little bit. There's nothing else to really
investigate. There's nothing else of value
that you're missing here. So you are free to move up that
(01:41:56):
tunnel. Again, we're not in combat, so
I'm not. And you can all kind of work
together. It is a 10 foot like kind of
Cliff face to get up to that toplevel.
And then, yeah, you would have to crawl.
I'm not going to really make youguys do any checks because
you're not in combat. So like time doesn't matter, but
I am going to ask what order would you like to go in?
(01:42:20):
Ouch. Just needs light to be able to
see any objects. So can the ball be in front of
me, the ball blooding or whatever it is?
Yeah, as long as Kilbor's good to keep that floating in front
of you. May I touch couch?
Couch. Do you have any objects on you
that have prominence that you would like to glow?
Well, no. Do I mode?
(01:42:40):
Got your axe? Yeah, can my axe glow?
Yeah, I'd like to cast the cantrip light on his axe so that
if this gets snuffed out, he won't be blind in the dark.
That's a good call. Yeah, Couch.
Your axe begins to glow with radiant light from Mchale's
(01:43:00):
light spell. So is everybody saying Couch?
You go first? It sounds like it.
Are are you armored up couch? Iron Raging Hill board, Do you
have a sheet for me or anything? How would am I?
Going your rage would have endedby now, probably.
Yeah, the rage would end by now.You you can save that for when
you get into your next fight. I was going to say, I think the
(01:43:23):
ball lightning probably maybe withered out by now.
It's I think it only lasts for aminute.
OK then yes, it did. So good thing that Mikel here is
lighting lighting things up withthat axe.
Light up the night. All righty guys, we're going to
keep this moving along couch. You hop up, you have light, rest
(01:43:43):
of you clamber up the side of the wall.
Do you want Penelope going last in the middle?
Does anybody care? One metal.
Yeah, middle. OK, Penelope climbs up the
middle. All right, guys, here we go,
couch leading the way through the tunnel.
It stretches on for a short distance and then quickly curves
(01:44:08):
downward and you find yourself nearly face first in a murky
pool of water and it appears to be the only way forward.
It is up to you. You are first.
So you, you, you're, you're the one who's kind of there.
(01:44:30):
And your axe is glowing, so you'll be able to see as you go
into the water. But got to find a way forward.
Yeah, can I swim? Yeah, you can swim.
I'm going to ask you to do a investigation check because your
axe is glowing so nicely for you.
(01:44:51):
You'll do it normal. And here's the way that this
puzzle works. You are going to be down in
there and you're looking for a way through, like you're trying
to look for a way like an another place to come up for
air. There is a check that you're
going to roll as you're investigating or I would let you
(01:45:12):
do perception as well. And if you fail, you can
basically drown yourself a little bit to keep looking and
roll your investigation again oryou can turn around and go back,
but then you'll have to start itall over.
So yeah, you would dive forward and I would ask you to give me
(01:45:34):
an investigation check or perception and.
I'm going to do. Between the light and your
goggles, Fuck. I mean, with the goggles, like
damn it, you've got like, it doesn't say that it gives you
advantage, but I, I, jeez, I have to adjust the difficulty.
So yeah, give me that. Give me that check.
(01:45:54):
A 17 + 320. Yeah, piece of cake.
You move along and find that it's actually pretty wide open
are walls to the left. There is something above you
like a a cave wall above, but then it opens up on the other
side and you pop up able to get air.
(01:46:18):
And you are now in a on the other side of the pool here in a
shallow pooled area and revealing pieces of the map
here. Yeah.
So you swim through the submerged tunnel and you pop out
(01:46:38):
the other side with a stand on aledge and you can you can see
everything just fine. Come on in, boys.
The water, the water's fine. Through the cracks in the walls
and you know, in the the cavernous aspect of this area,
everybody is able to hear him. So with him safely finding a way
(01:47:00):
through and that it's open on the other side, everyone is able
to dip down and get through to the other side of this pool.
How is the water? How?
How? What?
How is the water? It is freezing cold.
Oh, it's awful. It's it's damp, it's murky.
There's algae floating on the surface, more spider webs.
(01:47:22):
It's so it's pretty gross. So when Kilbor swims through
that tunnel, he like pops up outof the water and is like walking
on the water because he's got the ring of.
Walking on water. He does.
He has. Oh.
Oh fuck, that was from nothing to cry over.
(01:47:44):
Yeah, OK. Kilbor, from your vantage point
to being able to stand on the water, give me a perception
check with advantage. Nice. 17 was one of them. 16 was
the second roll, so I'll take a.1717 From where you're standing
(01:48:06):
at the top of the water, everyone else is kind of like
treading water. There's some spots where like
it's shallower and you're like standing up to your shoulders in
the water. But Kilbore, you're standing
there and as you're looking around, you see off to the right
to the east, it's not just cave wall.
There's actually a lip there andit drops down into another pool.
(01:48:28):
And as you keep looking, there'sa third landing further down.
From where you're standing it does look like a dead end.
But there there is a room down there to the north.
You can see also about again, 10feet up.
(01:48:49):
You would have to kind of work together and like climb upward,
which would be a really easy with you being able to stand and
freaking walk on water. You item buying maniac.
You see there's another lip and you can see that there is a path
to the north and working together you would be able to
(01:49:10):
climb up over the edge of that and get onto a more walkable
path. So I kind of kick water into
Couch's face and I was like, what do you guys think?
What do you guys want to do? You want to go down or up?
I'd like to go down 1st. Let's do it.
Yeah, maybe we could send one ortwo people to go down and if it
(01:49:31):
is just an empty room, then you guys can just climb back up.
And if not, if there's somethinginteresting, then we, the rest
of us can go down. Let's see, does anybody got any
rope? Yeah, like every, everybody
would kind of have like rope as part of their adventure gear.
Yeah, you you could definitely like help, like repel yourself
down with rope. I just want to help get get back
(01:49:54):
up. I got the feather fall like and
so I'm like I just kind of want to jump and skip off the water.
Yeah, you really want to test that again?
You you really want to? I got to be able to do it right
sometime. Yeah, OK.
Give me an acrobatics check. Is anybody going with him?
Do you want Fillmore? Oh, up to you guys.
(01:50:16):
Yeah, at least one of you. I'll go with him, have Feather
fall before Grimace. I.
Yeah, I could go with you. OK.
We both, we both swan dive off the sun.
Yeah, I was just going to say give me some acrobatics checks,
boys. It's like.
Wow, like we're in the the ship kind of floating. 6. 17 Grimace
(01:50:44):
You run and swan dive off the edge, and you gracefully float
your way down to the bottom kilbor.
You swan dive again and float with your feather fall down.
But grimace you land very daintily and properly on your
(01:51:05):
feet and kilbor. You don't quite figure out how
to right yourself. And you do land, you know, head
and chest first, but it it does not hurt you this time it is not
a Nat one, but still didn't lookgreat that.
Little tiny theme with you, Kilbor.
I know, right? Rough landing there, Kilbor.
(01:51:29):
Seems to be the common theme with these dice.
Just got to roll with it. With that you guys see down
here, there is a pile of gold coins piled up in the side of
the room. Now the map makes it look like a
(01:51:49):
lot for effect, but there is also a circle of bones on the
right side of the room. They look to be specifically
placed and stacked. I was feeling like if we started
grabbing stuff something might pop out.
(01:52:10):
Does anybody have a good religion check they could do?
See if yeah. I do you know.
What this is nice. I got a + 2 on religion.
You guys shout anything up to your friend's couch, McHale or T
dog? Yeah, we see.
We see a pile of bones up here and a big old pile of gold.
(01:52:33):
Like treasure. I kind of, yeah.
I just kind of want to investigate it a little bit.
I'm kind of like Grimace. I don't know if I want to go for
a trap but definitely want to investigate a little bit more.
Yeah, you can give me either a investigate or a religion check.
We're going to do religion. Yeah, OK.
(01:52:56):
Yeah, Oh my. Before.
It's a pile of bones and a pile of gold.
You know, I did pretty good on my last religion check, despite
my minus, so I could try. Yeah, go for it.
Oh, I did even worse. We don't know what Pile of bones
and a pile of gold. What do you think guys?
(01:53:17):
You want us to? Perfect to us, no problem
whatsoever. This is no way to be a trapped.
With all with all of the ominousstuff happening in the magic
surrounding us, I would feel more comfortable if we were all
together down there. We got there's a rope.
You guys want to come down here and start putting this gold in
(01:53:38):
our pockets. Let's do it.
Nala P You want some gold? I've never held a gold coin
before. Let's get it.
You stay right here. We'll get you some.
Yeah, I'll wait up here. How?
How far down is it? It's like 10 feet to the second
landing, another 10 feet down tothe bottom landing.
It's with the rope. It's easy to make your way down.
(01:54:00):
Can I cast mage hand and transfer them over without us
having to make our way across? No, because I think mage hand
can only carry like 5 lbs right?Yeah.
So no, unless you want your magehand to like go down and like
grab the gold and like pull it back.
That's what I was saying 5. Pounds of gold there.
I'm sorry, I I misunderstood. I thought you were like, can I
(01:54:22):
mage hand the people down? No.
Not just the gold. Yeah.
Is that is that something you would like to do?
Yeah. You send your mage hand down and
with them down there, the mage hand scoops up a big fistful of
gold coins and jewels and gems and kilbor and grimace.
(01:54:46):
You're, you're seeing this, you know, spectral blue hand reach
down and scoop this up. And as the hand lifts up and
like makes a fist holding on to the gold, the gold begins to
dissipate into ash in your mage hand's hand.
Your mage hand, I believe if it takes damage, it disappears,
(01:55:07):
right? Probably.
Or something like that. It it's dispelled your your your
mage hand like melts and it squirms and writhes in the air
and it of its own accord turns and the flips you off as it
melts out of existence. And behind kilbor and grimace a
(01:55:28):
creature materializes out of thesummoning bones.
And ladies and gentlemen, a thank you to Waldo for
sponsoring our second sponsor oftonight's show.
As a floating globule of mouth and eyes is staring at you.
(01:55:49):
Could everybody please roll me initiative?
Couch rolls and 11. I got a 21.
T dog girl to 14. 14T dog that was Grimace with a 21.
Yep. Awesome, flipping the script
there, rolling high this time. Yeah, 15 for Kilbor. 15 for
(01:56:12):
Kilbar. All right and OK Couch got a
Kyle 11 again, Kyle, thank you. 11 OK Oh, you guys are in for it
now. I love it.
This guy's going to knock me outagain.
It's only fitting you're right. Or 12.
You guys just keep on splitting the party, OK?
(01:56:34):
Grimace with a 21. You are first.
All right, I will just do, I guess, Illness Blast.
Yeah, give me that attack roll 23.
Definitely a hit roll, some damage, 6 total damage.
Awesome. OK, your Algebra's blast hits
(01:56:55):
this thing and it teeters in theair and it rocks and rolls and
it begins muttering in this darkDeep Speech voice.
Does anybody hear? If you look at your character
sheet in the bottom left corner, you have your languages.
Does anybody have Deep Speech? Negative.
(01:57:21):
No nada. OK, nobody quite knows what this
thing is saying, but it is muttering, guttering, and making
some very sinister sounds with its mouth.
And I'm sorry, Grimace, you saidthat was 6 damage from your
Eldritch blast. Yeah, yeah, 6.
Awesome. That is now going to make it the
(01:57:42):
creature's turn. It rolled a dirty 20 for
initiative. Let's see.
It is right there next to Kilbor.
It floats towards you, Kilbor and it is going to open up its
mouth and it's going to try to bite you.
Does a seven hit negative cool. You're able to kind of hold this
(01:58:05):
thing away as it floats towards you, but as it does, several of
its eyes turn and focus on you. And I'm going to roll AD 6 here
to choose something randomly. Kilbor, could you please give me
a Constitution saving throw? You are trying to beat a 13.
(01:58:28):
And also a negative got a 10. Kilbore, one of the eyes hits
you with a paralyzing ray. You are paralyzed for one
minute. No.
You can repeat the saving throw on the end of each of your turns
to try and break free of the paralysis.
(01:58:49):
As you gotcha are paralyzed in place by this thing, another one
of the eyes on the end of a tentacle turns and looks at
Grimace and grimness. Could you please give me a
wisdom saving throw? DC 1316?
OK, you pass you. You feel your head starting to
(01:59:13):
feel like muddled like you feel almost like you're drunk for a
second, but you shake it off andyou are not affected by the
confusion. Ray.
And that is going to bring us tocouch.
Guys, you're so comfortable or you want me to come down there?
Yes, please come down. Yeah, let's go.
Move me as far as I can please. Yeah.
(01:59:35):
So following down the rope, it'sabout 10 feet down on the 1st
and then you would be able to get to the top of the second
landing, like up to the edge there.
So you're you're 10 feet up and about 25 feet away from the
spectator. So you can use your bonus action
to rage or to dash if you want to use your bonus action to use
(01:59:58):
your movement again to get closer or you.
Can. Risk it again and you can throw
that hand axe. I'm tempted because Fillmore's
there, but will the dash get me in melee ring?
It will, but you would be using your action to dash, so you
would not be able to attack thisturn.
Good point. The axe will keep.
(02:00:19):
Glowing, right? Yeah, his axe is glowing.
So it it'll illuminate anything within 20 feet of it.
So if he's within 20 feet, he should still be able to kind of
seed the general direction, I think.
Yep, the room's it's I'm. I'm just going to say it's lit
up enough by everyone. I don't want to rage because I
only have one left and we we know there's something to the
(02:00:41):
north still. That is true.
I'm trying to see also I cannot. Can I throw my great axe or only
my hand axe? I'm pretty sure you can throw
it, you just you would have to roll your dexterity I believe.
Because it has a property. Next to it.
(02:01:03):
Yeah, the the great axe just says 5 feet reach the hand axe
has 20 and then a 60 imprints. Yeah, so the the great axe does
not have a throwing feature to it.
So you would have to throw the hand axe.
Yeah, let me throw that hand axeat him.
One of his eyeballs. You know what not to roll.
Surely you can't do it twice in the same one shot?
(02:01:26):
I got a 8 + 513. All right, 13 The creature dips
and ducks a little bit to the side, and you just barely miss
it. One of its eyes dips down just
in time to avoid being cut off. Oh, a little Dodger, huh?
Yeah, that was pretty close. And getting better.
(02:01:48):
Billboard, that actually brings us to you.
You are, I'm so sorry, paralyzed.
But you do have the opportunity now to do a Constitution saving
throw to break out of the paralysis.
But it will end your turn. OK, finally I got a 19.
(02:02:10):
OK, you break free of the paralysis.
You are no longer paralyzed. Your turn is over.
Para paralysis sucks. I apologize, but that is going
to bring us to T Dog. You're up there at the top of
the pool. I believe your speed is about
the same as couches. If you want to go down the rope
and go to the same place, you can.
(02:02:32):
It is up to you what you would like to do.
Yeah, take me down there by couch.
Got it. Do you have any kind of arranged
weapon, or do you want to use your action to dash in?
Yeah, Can I can I-IN and take anaction against an attack against
them? You're you're taking the dash
(02:02:52):
action is your action, so you would not be able to attack on
the same turn. OK, I'm going to hang out by
couch for a little bit then. OK.
Oh wait a second, wait a second. His bonus actions are unarmed
strike and Furia blows. Yeah, Furia blows is something
he can do as an unarmed strike when he's in melee with someone.
(02:03:17):
Gotcha. Oh hold on, you're you're a
monk. You can use your adrenaline rush
and use a bonus action actually to dash.
You also gain 2 temporary hit points and you then would be
able to use your action to attack it.
Yep, let's do it. OK, yeah, T Dog, the half orc
(02:03:41):
monk, you use your adrenaline rush, surge of energy, you rush
in there right next to the specter.
You have your action if you would like to attack it.
OK, I'm going to hit him with a Mason.
Yeah, let's go roll that. Roll that hit chance.
I got a 17 + 5. 17 will hit or yeah, that's like what?
(02:04:01):
A 22? Yeah, that hits.
And four plus three 4 + 3 on damage is 7.
Nice, Yeah, you do hack into this thing and it screeches at
you and you're pretty sure it's cussing at you in Deep Speech.
Awesome turn T dog. Good use of that adrenaline
(02:04:23):
rush. Anything else you'd like to say
with your free action before we go to McHale?
No, I'm good. All righty, Mikhail, Penelope
was next in the order. She's just ducked down in hiding
and she looks at you and she just says I am not a fighter.
I can tell that. Don't worry, we'll handle this
(02:04:45):
quick. How close am I to the Spectre?
Let's see here. I am not wanting to calculate
the hypotenuse of a triangle. A ^2 + b ^2.
I'd like to make my way as closeas I can, and what I would like
to do if I can, is to cast Toll the Dead.
OK. What's the range on that guy?
(02:05:07):
60 feet. I'm going to say like from where
you are in the top pool, you're just close enough to do that.
If you would like to jump down to the second pool, you can use
your movement to do that to do both.
I'll commit my action 1st to seeif anything happens.
So I'll go ahead and do toll thedead.
And then is the specter injured? It has been hurt once, yes.
(02:05:28):
Would you mind reading Toll the Dead for everybody?
Yeah, so it told the dead. I pointed at one creature I see
within range and the sound of a dolorous bell fills the air for
a moment. They will take 1D8 necrotic
damage unless they have any of their life missing, in which
case it becomes 1D12. Dang yeah it's it's going to
take AD 12 the damage then. Is that like a roll to?
(02:05:50):
Hit it is a Wisdom saving throw. The DC is Wisdom 13.
I don't know if I don't think you put any modifiers on that,
right? Your modifiers are already
applied on your character sheet.Wonderful.
So it's a Wisdom 13. It rolled a 12.
OK. 10 + 2 I said yeah, roll that, roll that damage.
(02:06:14):
Oh no. Does the bell you hear have any
significant meaning to you, Mikel?
It sounds like the deep clang ofmy church's bell that would ring
every morning and afternoon and night.
In fact, it just rang every houris very annoying.
It was a very annoying bell. I'm glad I don't get to hear it
anymore. Yeah, that old annoying bell
(02:06:37):
begins filling the sound of the chamber and the creature, all of
its eyes clench shut but at the pounding of Toll the Dead.
How do we do for damage? It is A7.
Seven points of damage. That's not bad.
And then does anything happen? Is it moving around?
(02:06:59):
Anything get unstable? Does Toll the dead have any like
additional effect on a failed save?
Nope. It's not stern.
No, it's it's just right there next to T Dog and Kilbor.
I'll just be joining close to couch then.
Cool, Enelope is just hanging out up at the top and that's
going to bring us back to the top of the turn order with
Grimace, right? Does this thing look relatively
(02:07:23):
hurt or not? It's it's definitely looking
hurt. OK, I'll just go ahead and do
I'll just blast again. Let's go.
Oh, nice. 13 damage, 13 damage, Max damage.
Let's go. Wow.
Eldritch Blast is every warlocksbread and butter.
It I, you know, Amen. You got to love it when smack
(02:07:47):
them up against the wall. Yeah, that blast just shoots
into it. And yeah, no, Spectre is looking
very hurt. Very, very not OK.
And it is now the spectator's turn.
Pee dog. It's going to try to bite you as
it comes at you with its mouth. I I know a four misses.
(02:08:08):
It is going to look at you with one of its eyes.
I am rolling a dice here. D Dog, could you please give me
a Wisdom saving throw? All right, Ian, and good glad.
I got a nine. Glad I rolled A5 and not a four.
OK, that is a fail T dog. You are unable to take any
(02:08:33):
reactions until the end of your next turn as you are filled with
confusion. On your next turn you are unable
to move. Your movement is 0 and you are
going to have to use your actionto attack the nearest creature
(02:08:59):
to you, regardless of what you think of them.
You use your action to make a melee or range attack against a
randomly determined creature within range.
I'm sorry, it is randomly. If the target can't attack, it
does nothing on its turn. So because you are confused, the
spectre is going to use its movement.
(02:09:20):
It floats a little ways away from you and grimace, it did not
like those elderge blasts. It is going to use one of its I
rays, its last ability here on user and I did roll A4.
Is this? Considered a charm or no?
This is a magical attack. Yeah, and no, it is not trying
(02:09:41):
to charm you. This is the wounding ray.
I need you to please make me ADC13 and you really want to pass
this one barely missed. OK.
Yep. I I see a 9 + 3 there for 12.
OK, Grimace, you are going to take 3D10 necrotic damage.
(02:10:02):
Yeah, I asked about charm because I have an advantage
against charm, but if it's not charming, Yeah, none of its
abilities are charming. I rolled a 9 + 9 + 2.
So Grimace, that is 20 points ofnecrotic damage.
He's so smaller than I got. You guys watch as this crackling
beam of energy blasts into grimace and grimace.
(02:10:27):
You flop to the ground in death saving throws and the spectator
laughs evilly in its deep speechlanguage as it watches you
collapse to the ground. I will take this moment to
remind all of our players we do have health potions.
OK, couch, that brings us to you, Sir.
(02:10:50):
Oh boy, yeah, I have a potion ofgreater health and I moved down
to Grimace and give it to him. Give it all time.
Yeah, yeah, I'm just going to get him, just going to get him
back to full health here. OK.
And you guys are amazing. I.
Have one more of those by the well by the way, so.
(02:11:11):
Awesome, nice. You find yourself briefly,
briefly in the world between worlds, between the place of
mortals and the place where All Souls go after they die.
You are standing in the raging river, up to your knees in the
(02:11:32):
water in the plain between worlds and Grimace.
You look around and you see, standing on the shore, dressed
in a black robe in a black cowl, its face obscured in shadows.
A hand reaches up and waves onceat you.
(02:11:55):
And do you know for a fact that you are briefly here in the
afterlife, the place in between known as Mortivus's plane?
Mortivus, the widely known and pretty, universally worshipped
in every religion and culture and or at least recognized
(02:12:19):
Mortivus is the God of death. And he waves once at you and you
suddenly pop back to life, laying on the floor with Couch,
pouring a healing potion into your mouth and down your throat.
Thank you, Couch. Anytime, anybody.
My life is in your hand. I am in your debt.
(02:12:42):
All right, Couch, I think you got a bonus action.
You can use that rage or you cansave it.
It is up to you. Yeah, I feel like I still need
to save it. OK.
So I think I'm done all. Right Kilbor, you are no longer
paralyzed, Sir, and you got a spectator looking right at you
and it is again wobbling angrilyin the air, cussing out couch as
(02:13:06):
he brings Grimace back to life. Let's see here.
I think I'm just going to go ahead and use my long sword and
I'm trying to try to take him out here all.
Right, let's go. I don't know how old everybody
is, if there's any like Pokémon lovers out there.
I'm kind of like envisioning thespectators, like floating around
(02:13:27):
like an angry coughing, going toage myself a little bit.
All right, go ahead, Kilbar, Roll that.
Roll that a hit chance. All right, a 12.
A 12 is a miss I'm afraid. This thing dips and ducks to the
side, dodging out of the way of your long sword.
Have anything you would like to do with your bonus action?
(02:13:51):
Well, I don't know that I have much.
Yeah, I don't really. Bonus action Divine Smite is
about all I've got really. Yeah, you have to hit something
for that first though. Yeah, OK.
I guess I'm going to have to endmy turn.
(02:14:13):
All righty, that's going to bring us to T Dog.
T Dog, you are confused. I need you to please roll me.
Well, there's only one person that's in melee range of you.
I need you to make an attack chance on Kilbor here.
(02:14:34):
Oh no, with my with my Mace or unarmed?
You had your Mace equipped for your last attack, so I am going
to say it's the Mace. Oh, I got a 12.
OK, Kilbor, I think that misses you, right?
Oh, it's a It's a whip. Yeah, Gilbert, you you see T dog
(02:14:55):
his eyes glazed over, pulls backhis Mace and takes a swing at
you, but misses. And the the confused look in his
eyes, like the the kind of Milkyglaze across his eyes
dissipates. And T dog you, you come back to
your senses at the end of your turn.
So we're kind of patching him onthe back, yeah.
(02:15:18):
I'm good now. All right, I'm sorry, T dog,
that does take up your turn withthat confusion.
Ray McHale, that's going to bring us to you, buddy.
This thing is looking very hurt.I would like to told the dead
once more. Yeah, let's go.
A wisdom thirteen save. Wisdom 13 He is very hurt.
(02:15:43):
Does he take half damage on a save?
No, it's it's a saver Sucksville.
So if you and. And what was your your save
again? I'm sorry. 13.
He did roll in 18. OK.
I was hoping for half damage because you could have done it
with that. No worries, it'll be all.
(02:16:04):
For my turn, any movement or bonus.
Yep, I'll stay where I'm at and I'll just wait.
Grimace, we're at back at the top.
This thing's looking very hurt, and it is your turn.
Come on, I'll just burst again. Yeah, Roll that.
Roll that. Hit 22.
That is a hit. Roll damage, 11 damage.
(02:16:26):
Boom. This thing had ten hit points
left. The Grimace, it is cussing and
spitting, sticking out its tongue at you as you get back on
your feet, couch pulling you up off the ground.
You bunch up that dark warlock magic in your hands and you
(02:16:47):
blast out another elder's blast, and this one hits it and punches
a hole straight through the spectator.
And for just a hot second there you feel like maybe Mortivus,
the God of the dead, put a little mustard behind that spell
and the spectator falls dead to the ground.
(02:17:10):
Let's go. Can we check out the treasure
again to see if it stays there this long?
Absolutely. You want to.
You want to go check it. Also, is this guy like more of a
kind of an entity or is she likephysical form?
He does have a physical form. Give me a survival check.
(02:17:34):
I got a only three. Yeah, you don't want to touch
that thing. Yeah, I don't.
I do. It doesn't look like I want to.
That was an AT one. Yeah.
No, you are grossed out by the dead oozing BLOB on the floor.
I ain't. I ain't touching that.
(02:17:56):
Who? Who is testing the gold?
Oh, couch, couch. Couch, we'll say that you're
still raging. Yeah, You you go up, you take a
handful of coins and same as what happened to the mage hand,
they begin to burn and melt in your hand, turning to ash and
you are going to take one point of burning damage as the gold
(02:18:21):
burns your hand and disappears. The hole's gold, guys.
That is 1 damage cut in half to 1/2 damage rolled up to 1 damage
for a raging barbarian. I would like to check my BLOB
out before I take off. Yeah, give me survival check.
Everybody can kind of go down there now, like we're out of
(02:18:42):
combat. Can we desecrate this little
bone structure? So, like, that would help us.
You certainly could. Kilbor.
It's disgusting. It's a it's a gross BLOB
creature. You don't you don't want to mess
with that. It's RX.
Somebody's got to be brave. Probably Penelope.
(02:19:03):
She'd touch it. OK, Yeah, let me let me roll for
Penelope. Our our little unintended.
We've kept her alive and. NPC hanger on.
Here. She rolled a 16.
She looks I got you too. She pulls a like little, I don't
know, a little like carving knife, dagger like out of her
(02:19:28):
belt. She's like, I am a servant of a
castle. I don't necessarily agree with
my Duke. I don't really like him at all
right now. But if there's one thing I know,
it's how to carve up meat. And she she goes to work on the
spectator and she is able to successfully extract two.
(02:19:54):
She successfully plops out two of the spectator's eyeballs.
You guys know that these often times will sell for a few
silvers at you know, like an alchemist or a potion shop or
like a curiosity shop, things like that.
They have some magical properties innately that exist
in their eyes. What else can you do, Penelope?
(02:20:16):
She looks at you and she says, well, I'm not a, I'm not a bad
dancer. Maybe we can celebrate later.
If we get out of this alive, I'mgoing to do a lot of
celebrating. She's good at describing what
exactly is going on in the picture.
Yeah. She's like, I like art.
(02:20:39):
I'm not very good at art, but I like it.
I like looking at it. She's a.
Nosa knows where the bathroom is.
She's great. With that guys, we are here just
a little past the three hour mark and I think we are going to
end up doing something we have never done before.
(02:21:01):
Our one shot adventure here at the Serpentine Banquet is going
to become a 2 Fer. We are going to call this here
with you slaying the sponsor by Waldo.
Again, thank you to Waldo for buying the monster that created
this encounter. We're going to call it here
(02:21:22):
guys, and we will pick up this adventure right where you are,
all in this dark little dead endfool's gold cave, and we will
finish this adventure on our next community game session.
Fantastic. With that, I know this has been
(02:21:45):
a little bit of a rough one shotgiven the length and everything.
Everybody for our last roll of the night, give me some survival
checks 18. T dog with a 10.
Got trolls a 12 + 315. Who got that 22?
(02:22:06):
Mikael. Mikael, you take a look around
and I'm going to just combine things a little bit here. 22 is
really good. You know that those bones were
absolutely a trap. They were set up specifically
arranged for the purpose of summoning a creature to this
place. And do you know beyond the
(02:22:27):
shadow of a doubt that if you disturb the bones, opposite of
having a bad effect, it would actually have a good effect
where it would end the circle and make this area safe And
everybody kind of together except T dog.
T dog, you're on edge. You, you don't know man, Like
you're, you were confused for a minute.
(02:22:48):
Everybody else, you know that ifyou were to hunker down here and
maybe take turns keeping watch, you will be able to take a long
rest between here and where we pick up our next session.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Awesome job Nuez.
(02:23:10):
This has been Oh yeah, go ahead.Aside from us having to rattle
these bones, may I cast alarm? Oh, absolutely.
Before we take a long rest. Absolutely you can read Alarm
for all our listeners. Alarm is you set an alarm
against an intrusion. I can choose a door, window, or
an area within range no larger than a 20 foot cube and until
(02:23:31):
the spell ends the alarm will alert you and it could be
audible or mental. I would like it to be mental for
all our party members. Awesome.
Totally. And you can absolutely set that
up there like in one of the higher pools of water.
So not only would something haveto come splashing through the
water down 1 Cliff face, splashing into another pool,
tripping your alarm and then coming down another 10 foot
(02:23:54):
wall, like you guys would have alot of time if something were
coming at you. And that's why you all kind of
agree. Like this is actually kind of a
nice little dead end pocket of this dungeon to take this long
rest. Very cool.
With that guys, I know this was a little bit different from some
of our other one shot adventures.
This is much more of a good old classic dungeon crawl, but you
(02:24:18):
guys did awesome. This was great.
Yeah, that was fun. Yeah.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
Hey, you did a good job man. It's been a great story like
with the build up and the descriptions and everything this
is this has been really cool. Awesome.
I'm I'm glad you guys are enjoying with that.
Like I said before, we are goingto call this a wrap.
(02:24:41):

Good stuff all around, guys, andI'm going to, I'm going to be a
(02:29:52):
little shameless. I'm going to do a plug of my own
here this week. I went from having never made a
website ever in my life and thenspent a 11 hours doing research.
And with that, d&d721.com is nowlive.
Our website is up and running. If you're listening to this and
(02:30:13):
you're saying what the heck, this is like episode 30
something like, how did you guysnot have a website up?
It's because I don't know how tobuild websites and I had to
figure it out. And now that I have, we have got
www.d&d721.com and it is the place to go if you want to learn
more about what we are building here at D&D 721.
(02:30:37):
That includes our white paper, the NFT series coming out, how
the NFTS relate to adventures exactly like this one, how to
build your character for those kinds of events, as well as an
event calendar. So if you're listening to this
and you're saying, damn, that sounds like a good time, I would
like to play some DND with thesecool people, go to dnd721.com,
(02:31:00):
check out the event calendar. I am always going to do my best
to get the events and other different things that we are
doing up into the calendar as I get confirmed dates.
And then you'll know when thingslike nothing to cry over or the
Serpentine Duke or whatever the next one shot ends up being.
(02:31:21):
And you can click on the link there in the event calendar.
It'll take you straight to our social and you can say pick me,
pick me. I want to play.
And that's what we would love tosee.
OK, that's my extra long plug. I'm the dungeon master.
I'm allowed. Thank you, everybody, so much
players. Thank you to all of our
listeners and everybody have a wonderful rest of your Thursday
(02:31:44):
night and be ready for Part 2 ofthe adventure ahead.
Good night, everybody. All right.
Thank you. I signed the line with blood
flame, I whisper in the dark that called my name.
One wish, one word, and the dealwas struck.
(02:32:04):
Now, bound by power, shamed by luck, In the shadows of the
void, I stand. Vina Fade with the guide in
hand. Hex the world with the cursed
man. Eldridge.
Last one. I raised my hand.
I'm feeling, I feel it break. Every spell I cast, every soul I
take from the depths I call. But I've lost my pass.
(02:32:25):
All I have now is the blast. The blast, Eldridge blast,
letting flat darkness crack in the sky.
I made the pact. Now I can't go back.
Power's mine, but the price is high.
(02:32:54):
Invocations eat into my skin, eyes go black when the paint
kicks in. Devil's sight I see through lies
masked in shadows with a silence.
Cross chain on my side of my info watch told me my grip like
a ticket clock. This ain't no school.
This is war. Petrol lasses are back for more.
I am the weapon, I am the curse.I speak the words and the world
(02:33:14):
gets worse. Call me slave, but I hold the
flame. I chose this hell.
I owe the name. This is burning.
I feel this break. Every spell I cast, every soul I
take from the depths I call. But I've lost my pass.
All I have now is the blast. The blast.
(02:33:37):
Aldrich blast. I made the pact.
Now I can't go back. Power is mine, but the price is
high. Now I walk with the stars in my
eyes and a voice that echoes through endless skies whispers
(02:33:59):
guide where my soul wants was a warlock made by a pack.
Because I want it more. I want it more.
