With over 42 years of experience, he served as a firefighter, as a paramedic, and then chief in some of the most demanding environments, from leading emergency response teams in Maryland Heights in Missouri to serving as county fire chief in Stafford, County, Virginia. In this episode, we will ask the question, what's really driving the increasing complexity of emergency management? Is it the unpredictable nature of disasters, misaligned priorities, or good old bureaucracy and politics?
