Speaker 1 (00:00):
So we see it all over
the internet.
We see it on Instagram, we seeit on TikTok, we see it on
Facebook, we see it on X andthat's the dog daddy, and he's
showing you that he has thisincredible success working with
aggressive dogs.
And I've said that it's justsmoke and mirrors.
(00:22):
All that and more in 60 seconds.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Good day dog lovers.
It's Will Bangura and you'relistening to another episode of
Dog Training Today.
Well, it's, you know, I did thesearch and I, to be honest with
you, I haven't spent much timeI really haven't done a search
looking for people that haveused the dog daddy because
(01:31):
they've had a dog that isaggressive, they've had a dog
that is completely out ofcontrol and they were at their
wit's end and they were lookingfor help and nothing worked for
their dog, so they resorted togoing to Dog Daddy.
(01:52):
Now anybody can find thisarticle.
(02:13):
Article is dog daddy Augusto dela Vera positive slash abusive
training techniques dog daddytraining costs.
Now here's the.
Here's the article.
I'm just going to read it wordfor word.
And this is from a female bythe name of Angel Willis Angel
Angel Willis and she wrote thisSeptember 17th 2023.
And it starts by saying I tookour pit bull to dog daddy and
(02:34):
here's the aftermath after a onehour, 30 minute training
session, okay, and underneaththere's a picture of the dog
Daddy has got two puppies, twovery tiny puppies, maybe six,
eight weeks, if that in hishands and below the picture is
this statement it says in thisbrief write up about dog daddy
(02:56):
Augusta de la Vera, you willfind out what impact his
training had on our pit bull andwhether his technique is
legitimate or not.
And here's the article.
If you own a dog that you trulywant to bond with and be of
absolute good behavior, you willneed to engage such dog on a
(03:19):
mental level and develop his orher intelligence and develop his
or her intelligence.
It is utmost essential that thedog gets adequate mental
stimulation so you both enjoy asustainable relationship, and
addressing the root cause ofyour dog's behavior is therefore
(03:41):
paramount.
And here's the article.
Does Dog Daddy Augusta deOliveira's training method meet
such criteria or is it just somecookie-cutter technique with
short-term results?
Is Dog Daddy Augusta deOliveira's training method an
outdated force and dominancetechnique?
(04:04):
Here we go.
My husband and I love our dogs.
We own a German Shepherd and aPit Bull.
The German Shepherd has arather too cool and calm and yet
reactive nature, whilst the PitBull is wild and most of the
(04:24):
time uncontrollably aggressive.
Because of this, we hardly takeit out for a walk in the public
because we fear it may attackother dogs or people.
We've seen it do that once andit's not a scenario we pray to
see happen ever again.
So our neighbor, who also had adog with an attitude, engaged
(04:47):
with Dog Daddy, augusta De LaVera, to help correct it.
And yes, just as we see in DogDaddy's videos online, his
training technique worked on ourneighbor's Rottweiler.
This motivated us to engage ourlovely, naughty and aggressive
pit bull to Dog Daddy's in-houseprivate training.
(05:08):
As usual, and just like magic, augusta De La Vera spent around
one hour 30 minutes to retrainour dog, making it totally
submissive and obedient.
Dog Daddy's one hour 30 minutetraining cost us $1,500, his
official charge for privatetraining.
(05:29):
Dog Daddy's group classtraining, just like you see on
his popular YouTube videos, cost$400 for a few minutes.
I really have huge respect fordog daddy's Augusto de la Vera's
ability to handle just any dog,and that respect grew more when
(05:53):
I saw him handle our pit bull.
Uh-oh, is this the article Iwant to read?
But what's the aftermath?
This is in the article.
She says this, but what's theaftermath?
After dog daddy left us tocontinue from where he stopped.
And here we go.
(06:15):
Our pit bull played nice andcalm for about eight hours and
then slept off, but when it wokeup we saw the old pit bull in
his eyes.
He seemed to have forgotten dogdaddy's training and was back
to his old self, same naughty, aggressive dog.
We watched it for days andapplied some of the methods
(06:38):
Augusta de Oliveira asked us touse, hoping our dog would
reconsider.
But nothing worked.
Our pit bull was back to squareone and our time and effort and
that of Dog Daddy and our$1,500 gone down the drain.
It was saddening and there wasnothing we could do about it.
(07:00):
Dog Daddy's policy doesn'tprovide any refund or retraining
for free.
This happened about eightmonths ago.
However, in July of this year,2023, our new veterinarian asked
that we try dog brain training,a method by Adrian Ferricelli,
(07:23):
I think is or Ferricelli, sorryif I got that wrong a
professional, certifiedprofessional dog trainer
knowledge assessed.
This person has thecertification CPDT-KA, a
certified dog trainer and thatit would help develop our dog's
hidden intelligence andeliminate bad behavior and
create the obedient,well-behaved pet of our dreams.
(07:46):
The Dog Brain Training Methodoffers over 21 games and
training videos that deals withevery dog's behavior.
Here it goes Root cause andprovides easy, practical ways
for improving obedience andbehavior.
Did Adrian Ferricelli, didAdrian Ferricelli's dog brain
(08:12):
training self-help method workfor our pit bull training?
The article is not written thatwell, sorry.
Yes, it helped us torecondition our pit bull and
also our German Shepherd, justby having them engage in simple
practical games and activities.
It involved a day-to-daypersonal training with our dogs
(08:35):
and over a period of one weekour Pit Bull was beginning to
adjust its behavior.
Today our Pit Bull isaggression-free and our two dogs
are the most loyal, obedientand adorable dogs anyone could
ever wish for.
And we only spent $67 toacquire Adrian Ferricelli's dog
(08:58):
brain training materials online.
This training method isadequate enough to train any dog
for an Oscar award.
What's the difference betweendog daddy Augusta de la Vera's
training method and AdrianFerricelli's dog brain training
method?
In my opinion, this is part ofthe article.
(09:21):
In my opinion, augusta de laVera's method is much more like
a quick fix.
Though it didn't work for ourpit bull, it may work for others
.
That of Adrian Ferricelli's dogbrain training method, as can
be accessed here and there's alink to the website, is more
sustainable, approved by otherprofessionals and long-term
(09:43):
beneficial, and it's costeffective.
Some other dog training expertssay Dog Daddy Augusta de
Oliveira's training method canbe regarded as daddy.
Augusta de la Vera's trainingmethod can be regarded as
overtly using force andinflicting pain on dogs and that
his method is only a means ofpetrifying them into short-term
obedience.
Recently, a celebrity dogtrainer, zach George Zach George
(10:07):
is the most followed dogtrainer on YouTube with his show
Dog Training Revolution notedon Instagram that Augusta de la
Vera primarily utilizes aseverely outdated method known
as yank and crank, whichinvolves no effort to connect or
understand the animal, whilegiving little consideration to
(10:28):
their emotional well-being atany step during the training
process.
It merely focuses oncontrolling dogs through violent
tugs to ultimately choking theminto submission.
Some group of expert dogtrainers say that dog daddy's
approach is just abuse.
(10:49):
Per Ramirez, who is anotherpopular dog expert, also says
that the dog daddy Augusta deOliveira's method only offers
the illusion of quick anddramatic behavioral shifts in
dogs and that in reality, thepoor dogs are just terrified of
being hurt again, somethingthat's not only immoral but
(11:13):
ineffective in the long term.
Ramirez shares horror storiesthat he's heard from vet doctors
over the years about the realeffects of leash yanking and to
temper I'm sorry, leash yankingto temper a dog's reactivity.
Ramirez notes that some dogshave experienced serious
injuries to the level of crackedbones in their neck.
(11:37):
In per Ramirez own words.
Successful dog training isabout developing trust and
creating a good relationshipwith your pet.
Fear and triggeringintimidation do not help in any
way to build any of those.
When a dog acts aggressive orreactive, it usually is out of
(11:58):
fear.
Thus, when a trainer utilizesaversive strategies to temper
this response, it only confirmsthe dog's distress.
In conclusion, I would like tosay that though dog daddy
Augusta de la Vera's dogtraining method didn't work for
me, it may be working for others.
While some have positivepraises for him, some others
(12:20):
have negative feelings about hismethod.
For more reference on recentDog Daddy issues here.
And then she's got a link tosome magazine that has an
article about protest againstthe dog daddy.
I've done several shows.
(12:41):
I've done several podcasts onthe dog daddy.
I've written several articles.
You can read my article atdogbehavioristcom.
Go to dogbehavioristcom, findin the menu articles, click on
that and then scroll down tofind my article on Augusta de la
Vera.
This has motivated me now to tryto reach out and get in touch
(13:05):
with more people that have usedAugusta de la Vera, have used
the dog daddy because they hadan aggressive dog and, just like
you see in the videos, hey, they thought everything was
great.
After an hour and a half and$1,500, they had a dog that was
completely under control.
And I've said it before no,they did not.
(13:26):
They had a dog that waspunished into submission and
that dog was suppressing itsoutward behavior.
Was punished into submissionand that dog was suppressing its
outward behavior.
And I've said it over and overthat within two hours to two
months that behavior will comeback and will come back worse.
Listen, folks, you can't get ridof those type of behaviors by
just suppressing the outwardbehavior.
(13:48):
It's the underlying emotionalstate.
I say it all the time.
You've got to deal with theroot cause and that's where this
woman finally found trainingthat was out there that was able
to help her deal with her dog'sroot cause, the root problem in
the aggression.
If you don't put out the fireand all you're doing is covering
(14:14):
it up, it'll start to smolderand it'll start to burn again.
Listen, punishment's likeputting a lid on the top of a
pot of boiling water.
I say it all the time.
The aggression doesn't go away,it just looks like it does,
just like on his videos allsmoke and mirrors.
Listen, I haven't always been apositive only trainer.
(14:35):
I've trained with force.
I've used prong collars, I'veused electronic collars.
I've done the things that dogdaddy has done, and that's why I
know I know how they work, Iknow that they're temporary and
I know it's smoke and mirrors.
I know that they're temporaryand I know it's smoke and
mirrors.
And he's laughing all the wayto the bank at $1,500 a session,
(15:00):
at one hour and 30 minutes.
Listen, folks, I can do exactlywhat Augusta de la Vera does,
and you know many of us olderold school trainers that have
been around for a long time, andI've been training since the
mid 70s Well, well, well, decades before he's ever been
born.
What he's doing is not new.
What he is doing is, I mean, old school, old school Stuff
(15:27):
that was developed before worldwar two.
Many of us old trainers knowexactly how to do that, and many
of us old trainers have donethat.
It's not difficult.
What he does is not difficult.
It's easy to do, but it's allBS.
(15:49):
And so I'm going to find morepeople that have used the dog
daddy and I'm going to do mybest to interview them and get
the word out to people that thisis smoke and mirrors and it
doesn't work long term and hereyou have it.
(16:10):
You have it from so-called thehorse's mouth.
I just read you the article byAngel Willis and I've sent a
message to her and I'm hopingthat I hear back from her, and
I'm also going to be contactingthe trainer of this program that
she enrolled in, because myguess is this program that this
(16:34):
woman got involved with and thetrainer that she was dealing
with is Adrian FerricelliFerricelli I'm sorry, I'm
butchering this name thecertified professional dog
trainer that's actuallycertified.
I'm going to reach out to her,see if I can find her and see if
she's gotten messages frompeople that have used the dog
(16:56):
daddy and it didn't work andthey and they went to her.
Listen, folks, she dideverything online.
Listen folks, she dideverything online.
You think, as a behaviorist whospecializes and I do specialize
in the most aggressive dogs, dogs with fears, phobias,
reactivity, aggression,aggression towards their owners,
(17:19):
aggression towards other dogs, aggression towards strangers,
children, you name it Dogswithin the same home that are
fighting one another I work withpeople all over the globe.
I do online virtual behaviorconsultations.
I coach and train people how torehabilitate their dogs that
(17:39):
are severely aggressive or havesevere fears.
And no, it doesn't require meto be there.
It's about teaching you andhelping you understand the root
cause of your dog's problems.
And when you begin to addressthe underlying root cause the
emotional state that your doghas that drives that behavior,
(18:01):
the behavior goes away and we'reextremely successful with this.
The last thing that you need todo is cause fear, pain,
intimidation with your dog.
The last thing you need to dois hurt your dog.
The last thing you need to dois hang your dog with the leash,
choke the dog out, yank andcrank on that leash like Augusta
(18:22):
de la Vera, like the dog daddydoes.
I know a lot of you areprobably sick and tired of me
talking about the dog daddy, butthere are millions of people
out there that think that he isthe greatest thing that has ever
ever happened in the dogtraining world and there's
nothing magical about what he'sdoing.
(18:43):
Like I said, I've done it and Iknow plenty of trainers back in
the day that did the exact samething and we got the exact same
results and they were temporary.
And he knows that the only wayit's going to maintain is you
(19:06):
got to continue to punish thedogs and typically you know,
listen as somebody that istrying to emulate what the dog
daddy does.
If you're not a professional, you're going to get hurt.
If you keep doing that to yourdog, it's not a matter of if
it's a matter of when that dog'sgoing to get frustrated climb
that leash and bite you Happensall the time.
(19:28):
So I am so grateful that Ifound this article written by
Angel Willis.
It's called Dog Daddy Augustade Oliveira Positive Slash
