Every city has it's own set of land use and building codes that have to be followed to a T by anyone taking on a remodeling or building project. What you might not know, is that beyond the safety codes, there are a set of guidelines that most designers and architects in the nation follow. They are called the NKBA Guidelines. Their purpose is less so for safety, but for style and efficiency. In this episode, Amy Moore and Andrew Phillips walk us through the origin of building codes and the most important set of guidelines to follow.
