I'm Jason.
You can talk now.
We're past the intro.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Slender penis.
He's slender penis.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
So we don't have any
housekeeping, because we just
fucking did housekeeping.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
We just did it
Because if you don't know, we
fucking stream we just fuckingdid housekeeping.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
we just did it
because, if you don't know, we
fucking stream this shit ontwitch every other tuesday and
we do two episodes at a time, sothere's no housekeeping in the
second one, so we're justrolling, fucking right into it.
Last time we left off, doug hadcarried us through, uh, the end
of season two of marble hornets.
Almost to the end of season, almost to the end of season two
of marbleble Hornets, almost tothe end of season two, almost to
(02:45):
the end of season two of MarbleHornets.
So close, we're going to coverthe end of season two and then
we're going to dive into thereally fucking long season three
.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Tall yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Fucking tall, really
fucking tall.
Season three when you smash allthis fucking shit together,
like we mentioned before, it'slike nine fucking hours long.
Half shit together, like we'vementioned before, it's like nine
fucking hours long.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Half of that, more
than half of that, is season
three.
Season three is uh.
Well, I think, yeah, I thinkit's like, I think it's like
episode 58 and on it's like fiveand a half hours, yeah of
content.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
58 to 87 is like five
hours but a wild, but a lot of
it legitimately is just likefilming knees and shit.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, it's people's
legs the video A lot of forest,
a lot of knees.
Yeah, a lot of forest, a lot ofjust black Knees trees and bees
.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
What about these
Knees trees?
And what about these?
Look at these.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
So yeah, To kick us
off, alright so just to kind of
thank you, I'll give us a smallrecap um where we left off.
Uh, basically in season two.
Jay has seven months ofunremembered uh time.
Uh, he woke up one day and waslike what happened seven months
(04:01):
later?
Um, so right now we're actuallygoing through a set, a series
of videotapes and a hard drivethat were in um his possession,
that he had taken from a hotelroom that he woke up in.
So, uh, where we last last lastleft off um was basically um,
(04:22):
he finally meets up with alex, some weird shit goes down, um,
they're we're not really surewhat's going on with alex at
this point.
Um, and we have two new not twonew characters, but we learned
two characters.
Hoodie and maski are separateentities from alex himself.
Um, and we don't really knowwhat their agenda is.
(04:42):
And and we still have to thearc dropping cryptid videos here
and there between videos invideo reply form to, I guess,
jay at this juncture.
So, yeah, lots of slendys, lotsof archies and things that end
with Y, because I guess thecommunity just wasn't very
creative.
(05:02):
So, yeah, we'll pick back up.
So literally the last thing thathappens is Jay snuck into
Alex's house and stole a tapeand then the operator kind of
chased him out of the house, where Alex decided not to give
chase.
(05:22):
So, as Jay and Alex'spartnership continue to,
continues to unravel a bit, um,their trust essentially is now
diminished.
There's no, there's no moretrust between the two.
Um, and they ended upconfronting each other, uh,
outside of Jay's car one nightand Alex ends up accusing Jay of
betrayal and basically beinglike yo, what did you think was
(05:42):
going to happen?
I caught you sneaking in myhouse taking a tape.
He's like you think this tapeis going to be the thing that
helps you uncover whatever it isthat you're trying to figure
out.
And so Alex is like thattypical kid who wears his keys
on his fucking hip and they justclink the whole fucking time
you watch this series.
And Jay ends up taking that tohis advantage and stealing his
(06:04):
keys and being like give mefucking jessica's number, which
is the, the girl we saw at thehotel.
Um, talking to jay in some ofthe earlier videos.
So swore she knew him yeah, shewas like oh, you're very
familiar.
And this is now.
We know that he's familiar withjessica, but they don't quite
know each other yet.
You'll, we'll go over that abit.
But yeah, so he takes alex'skeys, locks him in the car and
he's familiar with Jessica, butthey don't quite know each other
(06:24):
yet.
You'll, we'll go over that abit.
But yeah, so he takes Alex'skeys, locks them in the car and
he's like give me your fuckingnumber.
I don't know why Alex wasn'tjust like or I'll just whoop
your ass and take the keys outof the car, but either way he's
like OK, fine, here's the number.
So Jay ends up calling him andhe learns that that was who we
heard Alex tell that he had seenAmy and that she was fine.
(06:48):
And Jessica was like what?
No, like I thought she was cool.
And then Jay kind of spills thebeans that no, that's not quite
the way it is.
So, despite all of that, jaycontinues to kind of secretly
watch Alex.
He keeps following thedifferent places, see him return
to rosswood park a handful oftimes and, um, we see that alex
(07:10):
is drawn to this tunnel in inthe woods.
Um, and the obsession with thetunnel seems to run mutual with
jay as well, because jay justcontinuously starts to like
follows, keeps following himback to the spot and in one of
the videos we see him likewatching Alex and then you see
Alex kind of like turn his head, like just slightly, and it
(07:32):
freaks out Jay out and he boltsand he starts running Cause he's
like, oh shit, he saw me.
So, um, what follows?
This is like probably the mostlike fucked up moment in the
series.
Um, like as of right now, whatfollows, this is like probably
the most like fucked up momentin the series.
Like as of right now.
We see a video from Alex's pointof view and basically he's
(07:55):
sitting in the tunnel.
It's like the opposite POV fromlike the chest cam that we saw
Jay filming.
So when Jay ran, this picks upthere.
So basically we see him sittingin the tunnel and then this
random dude shows up and he'slike, hey man, are you okay?
And fucking Alex just likesnaps and he's like I told you
not to follow me here and likeliterally just fucking lashes
(08:18):
out at this dude and he ends upstrangling this man and then
just fucking smashes his head inwith a rock.
So just a little.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
What it's poetic,
just a little homicide.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Just a little little
bit of homicide is fine to do at
work, so yeah he kills thisdude and then we get this like
kind of like weird shot wherehe's just like standing over him
and like fucking huffing andpuffing, and then the operator
appears and then we get thevisual distortion and then the
stranger's body just disappears.
And it's pretty, pretty evidentnow that the operator is not
(08:57):
just like an observer.
He's fully got something to dowith the missing peoples that
we're kind of encountering,right.
So um slender the crimson underum.
So these are mixed with somemore cryptic videos.
Um, we get some more to the arcvideos with glimpses of masking
(09:19):
hoodie and then flashes of thetunnel and we see some
psychological phrasing like howmuch do you hate?
And it's not enough and, um,it's just, it seems like they're
kind of harassing jay at thispoint, um, and it's still kind
of unclear like what, what theirangle is on everything.
Um, so jay ends up meeting onelast time with alex at rosswood
(09:41):
and uh, this is a continuingfootage from the earlier entries
now that we kind of had thatPOV switch and as they part ways
, jay sees the masked figureagain and ends up chasing him
into the tunnel, only for thefigure to like completely vanish
at the end.
And then his obsession startsto go even further when Jay
(10:01):
sneaks back into Alex'sapartment and actually
successfully retrieves apreviously missed tape, and the
recovered footage from that tapeshows a pretty messed up story.
We end up seeing some earlyshots from Marble Hornets
filming and it's Alex and Brianfilming in the woods at this
abandoned building.
And then, brian, he eventuallypicks up the the camera during
(10:26):
some like weird distortion eventand, uh, he finds tim like
keeled over in this room, havinglike a coughing fit, and then,
of course, the operator appears.
There's like a pattern herethat we're starting to see right
, um, and the feed cuts and thenwe see this body being dragged
away, but we're never reallyshown who it is.
But using context clues you cantell that it's Brian being
(10:49):
pulled away, and we know Tim istechnically masky and we don't
know what the fuck Alex is doing.
So there's still a lot ofquestions that are being
unanswered here.
So things start to escalate abit as Alex leads Jay and
Jessica into the woods.
So basically, the video that wesee Alex leading Jay into the
(11:10):
woods, at the very end of thatvideo Jay goes to put the video
camera down and then he's likeoh, the camera's running out and
that's where it ends.
And then we kind of pick backup there and we see that he's
like oh, like you know, it'sreally dark, like we should just
go.
And then Alex is standing thereand he's like I, you know it's,
it's really dark, like weshould just go.
And then alex is standing thereand he's like I think I'm gonna
stay here for a little while.
And he's like we'll do thislater.
Um, he's like we shouldprobably have like jessica come
(11:31):
next time or something.
So they end up going with uhalex into the woods under the
pretense of him revealingsomething important to the both
of them and instead he fuckingpulls a gun out on him.
He's like here's a gun, um,here's a fucking gun uh, but
basically before he can shootthem to death, uh, maski, uh
(11:54):
ends up showing up and kind oflike attacking uh alex, which
gives jay and jessica a chanceto escape, and uh, they hear a
gunshot as they're running away,so it's not really clear like
if somebody was shot or not.
And then at that hotel laterthat night, jay hears Jessica
scream and they, he sees theoperator in his own room and
(12:16):
then this, his confrontationends in confusion, a lot of
distortion and the culminating,at the very end of the episode,
into footage of Tim walking downjust like this random street
outside Um.
And this is the end of theseven month period, this is the
end of season two, um, and thevery last thing we see again,
(12:37):
like I said, is just Tim walkingdown the street in a random
town, um.
So we're going to pick up withseason three, um.
So basically season three isnow.
I guess real time essentiallyuploads, um, it's we're, I guess
the best way to describe it is.
(12:58):
Now we're seeing what Jay isfilming and uploading to what he
wants us to see, to what hewants us to see.
So basically, jay is trying tofind Tim after seeing him on the
street and he's trying tofigure out, like, where he can
go to kind of figure out okayshit, like, why is Tim here?
(13:21):
How can I run into him again?
And eventually he is able tofind a place where a woman knows
who Tim is, tells him that hegoes to this therapist's office
XYZ days and then he's like, alright, well, I'm just gonna
fucking camp out in front ofthis place and eventually he'll
come here, right.
So he does, he sees Tim andhe's finally able to start
playing detective.
And Jay basically is like, oh,yeah, it's very clear that Tim
(13:42):
doesn't know anything orremember anything at this point.
And Jay is kind of like, oh,like, I wanted to finish marble
Hornets.
Um, cause it's been like, Iguess, technically, some years
now since that happened.
Um, or at least a year, um,cause, from that seven months,
obviously, like he didn't, he'sit took him, like I think he
(14:05):
says, three months after theseven months to figure all of
that footage out, um, but he'slike, yeah, I want to finish the
marble hornet hornets film.
And uh, basically talks to timand tim's like, yeah, I have a
big bag of like, of unused stuff.
If you want it, um, you canhave it.
So jay starts digging throughthat footage and, um, we start
seeing this kind of like tragictone from these videos.
Uh, alex is shown and he's likeplayful and like relaxed and
(14:27):
having a good time filming, likeit's before.
He's super sad, um, and likemean and all that shit.
Um, but yeah, as of right now,um, we don't really know like
where this footage is going, right, so it's clear that, uh,
tim was starting to show signsof something like that bad that
(14:48):
had happened, um, because of hisfrequent like coughing and
erratic behavior.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
This is all stuff
we're seeing in the videos by
the way, I just know tim's justlike constantly smoking
cigarettes, but he's like takingthe most fake puffs of
cigarettes that I've ever seenin my entire life yeah, the
whole, like he does the wholelike well, no, he like, he like
immediately, like sucks the, sucks it in and then just like
puffs it out immediately.
(15:11):
So so here's a note, becausecigarettes are a recurring thing
that I've noticed in analoghorrors if you're gonna fake
smoke cigarettes, you gotta holdthe smoke in for longer than
like two milliseconds.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
You gotta yeah, I
know, I know it hurts, I know
it's bad you gotta do theclassic like suck the smoke in,
like blow it out and like suckit back in thing.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
You know what I'm
talking about?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
The French inhale
yeah, yep, that's what that's
called Um, yeah, no, he smokes alot Like all the time and it's
funny, because actually that'slater on.
I'll talk about that later butuh, yeah, so, uh, where was I
fucking?
Yeah, so in the videos that timhanded over, uh, we're seeing
all this like weird shit fromtim.
(15:54):
We're seeing coughing, erraticbehavior, caesar-like episodes,
um, and it all points to thefact that he may have actually
been affected by the operatorlong before any of the others
were.
Because this is all happeningbefore the filming or like
during the filming of MarbleHornets, like right beforehand,
like when they're scoutinglocations and stuff.
And then in one tape that we see, alex and Tim are scouting an
(16:19):
abandoned hospital and duringthis time Tim steps away for a
moment and basically it kind ofseems like tim's like going to
take a piss or something, andthen alex, off camera, like
suddenly, just like walks on byand then just fucking bashes him
with this like pole, um, andthen, of course, the operator
(16:41):
appears right after that, timcollapses and then alex just
like calmly walks out of frameand then, um, afterwards, you
see, like some time go by, youcan hear tim coughing again, uh,
kind of alluding to the factthat, like he survived the
attack, um, but now something islike definitely definitely
changed between tim and alex, um, and it's pretty, pretty
(17:04):
pivotal, and again we keep goingto these like past tapes and
yeah.
So that's the end of my section.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
So, yeah, full send
on season three now your shit
made a lot of this a bit moreconfusing.
Yeah, more elements to it, forsure, but that's good, because I
did enjoy the end of this andwe'll get there.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Mike, do you want to
finally fucking say something
for the first?
Speaker 4 (17:33):
time Talk.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
I'm proud of you.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
I don't know if I
should be proud of you.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
But it's been almost
20 minutes and you haven't said
a word.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Have you been trying?
Yeah, haven't said a word.
Is that?
Have you been trying?
Yeah, that's a yes, that's anabsolute yes, kind of.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
It's been hard to say
nothing after.
The only word I said wasslender penis.
That is where you left off it'sbeen real hard to not follow up
with anything from there.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
But I didn't
interrupt Doug.
I will say you did.
Let Doug get through his entirepart, I, but I didn't interrupt
Doug.
I will say you did let Doug getthrough his entire part, I did.
I won't let you.
Oh, I know, oh, I know, I savedit all for you.
That is turned into afrustration from a frustration
of mine into, just like anexpectation of a feature of the
show.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
It's just what you
get.
I was too busy posting Lil B inchat chat so I saw that people
don't people.
People don't recognize the bassguy himself.
So it seems, from where he leftoff, that tim's camera was
still recording after alexattacked him.
It's now night out and tim isin the abandoned hospital.
He's's coughing up a storm.
(18:43):
Damn it, he's coughing it up.
That bonk on the head did him nofavors.
As he stumbles his way out ofthe building, we see behind him
there are some lights from aflashlight in the distance as
he's resting against a treetrying to collect himself.
Tim gets back up and he goesback into the building where we
(19:04):
see Alex is hunting for Tim.
Alex has his flashlight andhe's got a lead pipe in hand
going room to room, hallway tohallway.
Tim hides in a room on the sideof the hallway.
That's the problem with leadpoisoning.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (19:20):
Should have just
called this a marble horn.
It's a lead horn, lead hornets,lead hornets.
Tim hides in a room To the sideof the hallway that he sees
Alex in.
He sits in the corner and triesto stifle his cough so Alex
won't hear him.
Jay, at this point, decides Toupload A video after he sees us
(19:43):
and he decides he's going totalk with Tim after what he saw
just happened on these tapes.
He's going to essentially keeppretending that he is trying to
finish the film and he's goingto see if Tim can help him.
Jay asks Tim about the hospitaland mentions that Tim told Alex
about it on the tapes.
Tim's a little confused by this.
(20:04):
He's like why would I bring upthe hospital Whatever?
Yeah, sure, let's talk about it.
Jay then persuades Tim to takehim to the hospital and that
annex building that basicallyall this happened in.
He did this in the hopes thatit might jog some sort of memory
with Tim or just see what kindof a reaction he'd get from
taking Tim out there.
While there, tim is gettingnoticeably flustered with Jay
(20:28):
and his obsession with this dumbfilm.
As they bicker about theuselessness of finishing this
film and why it's not thatimportant, the hooded figure
comes out from a room.
What did you guys call him?
The hooded man, hoodie man, hoodie man.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Hoodie man.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Yeah hoodie, hoodie,
masky, masky hoodie so hoodie
man comes out from a room wegive chase, jay gives chase
where we find a maintenancetunnel that hoodie is alleged to
have gone down.
Tim basically says fuck thatand we gotta go.
So they bounce because Tim'slike I'm not about to chase some
(21:09):
random stranger into amaintenance tunnel.
That is stupid.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Most other
individuals in horror movies do
that.
It's a bad time.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
Also, again, where
are they getting these locations
?
Because they are.
This is real shit.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Yeah, it's good.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
This isn't a
soundstage or nothing.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
This is a real
fucking maintenance tunnel in a
abandoned building that they'rejust like actually for I feel
like you gotta scope out thelocations first and then be like
what can we do with this?
Speaker 4 (21:35):
100.
You build a story around thelocations, not the other way
around.
Yeah, yeah, so you should seesome of the the uh abandoned
locations in the Calb.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Ooh, we may have to
pay a visit.
Yeah, we should talk about thatlater.
Uh-huh, I agree yeah doxyourself more, as if Mike hasn't
already done it enough.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
Yeah, too many times,
I've done it too many times.
So Tim called Jay to meet him.
This is later on.
After the whole issue thathappened, Jay decides he's going
to come clean about everythingto Tim and everything that's
been going on During the meeting.
Tim comes out of his car andjust pow, just decks him in the
(22:19):
schnoz and he's super pissed offthat Jay has been documenting
all this online.
Yeah, he just walks like 100%come on and he's basically.
He's basically like you know, after you brought this up, I
(22:40):
decided to google Marble Hornetsand, wouldn't you know it, I
found the YouTube channel andall the videos of the weird shit
that's been happening to me.
So thanks for not including mein on this, because it's been
months Of this shit.
He now knows all about thevideos and is kind of freaking
out.
And Tim just wants out.
He's done.
He's like don't involve meanymore, take me out of this,
keep me out.
He's like imagine, imaginebeing in my situation where
(23:03):
you'll wake up randomly one dayand your leg's broken and you
have no idea what happened.
Or you can't hold down a jobbecause you woke up one day and
you went to your job and itturns out you haven't showed up
for work for three months.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, okay, hold on.
I thought this so many fuckingtimes during this.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Yeah, I know exactly
what you're about to say.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
How the fuck does Jay
pay for so many fucking hotel
rooms?
Where does?
Speaker 2 (23:24):
this man have the
money?
Do any of these people work?
Tim mentions it at one point inone video where he's like, oh,
I'm super busy with my job andthen it never.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
He's obviously not
because Maybe he's in Nebraska,
where a hotel costs as much as asquare foot of land.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
I don't know it is
like the shittiest motels you've
ever seen in your life.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
They're super shitty.
It looks like a college dormthat was converted into a hotel,
which is not good.
Nah, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Not stay at that
hotel.
Sometimes the funding justcomes naturally.
Maybe they got a Patreon LikePatreoncom slash DillyPod, who
knows?
Speaker 4 (23:59):
I feel like any
institution that has a Patreon
is just shilling for money.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
Yeah, patreoncom
slash, delete pod.
So again, tim wants out.
He's done.
He's like don't contact meanymore, I'm fucking out of this
shit.
I want my normal life back.
So Jay's like all right, I gotto go it alone.
So he goes back to the hospitaland he found the room that, uh,
tim mentioned to him a coupleepisode videos back, um, that
(24:28):
basically tim was like oh yeah, this is the hospital, this is
the room that started the firethat burned this hospital down.
Um, and you could tell it'smore crispy than the rest of the
rooms, capital.
Um, he enters the room that hesaw the hooded figure leave from
.
There is writing on the wallsthat he saw the hooded figure
leave from there is writing onthe walls that he finds he finds
the phrase he is a liar andfollow me A clear request from
(24:51):
Hooded man to go Hoodie to Jayto go into the tunnels.
Jay climbs into the tunnels andwhile in them he hears
footsteps from above.
He then finds a folder thatsays liar on it.
It's a little manila folder, along with a white tall doll
that kind of looks like the onethat we've seen before in
earlier videos, while making hisway out of the tunnel see,
(25:15):
here's a noise behind him.
No, he doesn't.
he turns around and it's sundayboy, I'm sorry, operator thank
you the operator baby, and he'sjust kind of like hey, from in
the pipes he's peeking aroundthe corners of the tunnel.
Jay runs for his life andSlenderman is right behind him
every time he turns around.
(25:35):
But he escapes, althougheverything after finding the
medical documents in the folderis just a blur to him.
Jay then opens up the folder tofind old medical records for
Tim from when he was a child.
It seems Tim has always.
Tim was a child, he was a child.
What, it seems Tim has alwaysstruggled with hallucinations
(25:56):
and other psychiatric issues.
Some say he still is a child.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Some say he's still a
child.
He's been a child for 40, 40years I already said he's baby
cops relevant that's fair.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
Yes, we then get an,
a, an upload from the arc
channel of someone watching Timin his house.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
They take his pills,
so they see him take his pills.
They see him take his pills.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
We're watching you.
They see him taking pills andit seems like they enjoy
watching this, because they'rejust watching him take pills and
they're just doing it for anextended amount of time, if I
hear you say take pills one moretime, I might lose my mind.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
I like how his
medical papers include a fall
risk Assessment, like he's likean 80 year old Woman or
something.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
He's got some fucking
clapper on him or whatever I
will say.
I more often than not seePatients under the age of 40
With fall risk Like bracelets Onthem just saying Well, I did
know a guy in high school.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
That's how he died.
He was in a car accident, survived the car accident, got
up to go to the bathroom whilehe was in the hospital because
of the car accident, fell andhit his head and died yep real
thing, old, shaky legs, greg hewas actually like one of the
nicest guys I've ever met.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
He was a shaky Greg.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
RIP Mark.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
RIP.
Oh sorry, shaky legs, Mark.
We then get an upload fromsomeone who has hacked Jay's
account.
They upload a video of thembreaking into Tim's home.
It's Hoodie.
They steal Tim's pills.
There it is, and Tim.
Basically what happens isthey're outside of Tim's window
(27:47):
and Tim gets a call.
He's like give me a second.
He leaves the room and thenthey sneak into his window, they
put a camera up in the closet, they take his pills and they
just kind of hide out.
I assume in the closetsomewhere.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
They put a camera in
his closet.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Yeah, real r kelly
move it's kind of fucked up
actually because, like, clearlyhe knows what he's doing and
then just proceeds to film.
This man have a bad time yeah.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
So tim comes back
into the room and he's coughing
up a storm and it's gettingworse and worse, so he goes to
look for his.
Obviously, you know how in likemovies and stuff, or like if
you're having like some sort ofanxiety or like a medical
problem, if you just pop yourpill two seconds later, you're
fine.
You just go right and you'refine.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Yeah, that's what
they're trying to do here, and
so alright, I have to interjectone more time, because this is
one thing that bothered methroughout this whole series,
and it's not like a continuitycontinuity error or anything
like that, it's just the factthat there's so much fucking
coughing.
They are coughing all the time, and they're like hacking lungs
(28:51):
up all the time it was liketriggering.
Almost I was like bro, fuckingstop drink some water, tim.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
I'm pretty sure out
loud I said can you stop like
shut up it's in my notes hecoughed some blood at one point.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
It's not from his
disease, it's because his
throat's All fucked up fromcoughing so damn much.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
He's chain smoking
all the fucking time.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Yeah right.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
I think that's
supposed to be the suggestion.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
Probably.
Anyways, that's fair, he's not?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
actually inhaling it,
though, so he should be fine.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
So what's happening?
Speaker 3 (29:25):
The fucking poser, so
what's happening?
The fucking poser, so what's?
Speaker 4 (29:27):
happening.
Where are the other?
Drugs going.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
So he goes in
coughing Party.
It's not a drug house.
He's coughing very badly andhe's going for his pills.
He can't find his pills so hejust collapses on the floor and
he has a seizure Tim after theseizure.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
It's more than a
seizure, it's like an
out-of-body experience.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
It's like complete
muscular distress.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
It's like Gary's Mod
ragdolling is what it is.
Yes.
Speaker 5 (29:56):
It's that SpongeBob
meme of SpongeBob just in the
air and he just like, falls back, hits the wall and he just yeah
, so after this weird seizuresituation situation, he gets up
and just walks out the door andhoodie follows him all, while
hoodie is like guilt trippingjay with quotes on the um on the
screen, saying things like lookwhat you caused and where could
(30:17):
he have gone.
But jay knows where he went.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Why.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Plot.
So Jay goes back to the forestthey were in earlier.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Plot armor.
Speaker 5 (30:34):
So Jay goes back to
the forest that they were in
earlier.
It's night time now and he'sgoing through the forest and
he's walking around.
And this is creepy because helooks around and he hears
someone running near him.
It's pretty creepy because youjust hear the crunch of the
leaves behind him.
He turns around and he sees Timin the mask.
Tim Jay yells as Tim chasesafter him.
He's yelling, he's like Tim,tim, wait, tim, tim, no.
(30:57):
And Jay hides in some treeswith Tim searching around him,
literally inches from his face.
Tim, you dropped the ball, dog.
You could have found this man.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
He's literally like
they're a tree apart and he's
like right here.
He's like ah, when are you.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
You can tell it's
supposed to be like pitch black
or whatever.
But yeah, they're about to kiss.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
It's probably because
he can't see through the mask
that he's wearing for no reasonbecause everybody already knows
who he is.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
I have to wear this
my face.
I can't take this off.
What do I do?
It's similar to the mask fromthat movie, Clown or whatever.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
Oh my god yeah, the
shotgun scene is my favorite
scene in most movies.
Great.
Speaker 5 (31:43):
Some confetti and
frosting.
So, uh, sorry, you could.
So, yeah, confetti and frosting.
So he hides beyond a tree WithTim searching around him.
Tim finally finds him and pinshim to the ground and Jay
screams as he's being choked outby Tim.
Jay then gets dragged away Inthe hoodie.
I think they're gooningtogether.
(32:03):
Is this the first?
Is this the first time that was?
Speaker 3 (32:05):
on me.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
That was the first
mention of gooning in this
episode.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
He said he was
choking him out.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
I couldn't resist.
He couldn't help but thinkgooning.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
Yeah, I get it.
So as he gets dragged away byTim, hoodie picks up the camera.
We then cut to Jay sitting inthis random shed and he wakes up
.
He gets out of the shed and Timis outside the shed Next to him
.
He also is waking up at thistime as well.
Tim can't remember anythingthat just happened.
(32:33):
They make their way back to thetrail In the woods and the
camera dies.
After this horrifying situation, tim takes a mental health day
for a few weeks.
Then it's Jake right there.
(32:56):
He's like they're like oh, dowe have to do something about
what just happened?
And Tim's like I gotta go talkto my doctor so I'll hit you up
after that.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
And it's like weeks
went by and I'm like wait what
Tim?
Takes a mental health day for afew weeks.
Holy shit, that was funny.
Speaker 5 (33:21):
So at this point they
meet up together in a fucking
truck yard or some shit in thedead of night and they come up
with a plan to go back toRoswood.
After they deal with thissituation that's occurring, they
will go and find Jessica.
Oh, that got you pretty good.
Hot damn, I did it.
Finally I broke someone.
(33:42):
It only took four years and 200episodes, but I did it Finally.
I broke someone.
It only took four years and 200episodes, but I did it.
I can't stop.
I'm sorry.
The plan is in motion.
Now Tim and Jay make their wayback to the barn area where Alex
held a gun on Jay and Jessicaand Tim attacked Alex.
They try to rejog their memoryby playing Sherlock Holmes
because neither of them rememberthat day.
(34:03):
They go into their mind palaceand they notice that this
happened a year and a half agoand they reenact the situation
that occurred and they find abullet hole in the ceiling where
Alex shot at them.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
You can hear the
progression of how Mike was
writing this out, where all of asudden he's like oh, I should
be funny A little bit.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
He just now realized.
He just now realized he justnow.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
I've been summarizing
this and I wasn't.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Too much internet,
too much horror, not enough
comedy.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
They put on like
detective vision, like you're
playing a Batman game and youjust hit R2 and it's like
Footprint.
They did that.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
I will say he does
like look up and he's like that
hole, that's a bullet hole.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
He's like Tim's like
crouched.
He's like this, like crouchedon the ground, like this.
He's like, hmm, looking forclues.
He's like, ah, a hole, couldthat be from the bullet?
Speaker 4 (34:54):
You look like L from
Death Note, so they he's like ah
a hole, probably from thebullet.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
And then he crams 15
candies into his mouth.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Ooh, a piece of candy
.
So, anyway, they make their wayback to the forest.
Tim has his chest camera on andthey try to find that shed that
they woke up in, but it's gone.
Now it's mysteriously vanished.
They make their way up to atunnel big, big tunnel that
we've seen before.
While they're in the tunnel, they get a call from an unknown
(35:27):
number.
The number says the person onthe phone says leave, we've been
trying to reach you about yourcar.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Shit it was.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Alex.
So it says leave now.
And it hangs up.
Turns out that was Alex.
They start to panic and Timstarts coughing a lot again,
because that's his character.
Um, while he coughs, the camerapans over to see the operator.
Tim yells for jay to run.
As he collapses on the groundwith the operator over him, jay
(35:57):
just claps, cheeks back to thecars that they arrived in.
Uh, when he gets back to thecars, he notices that tim is
already inside his car.
As he bangs on the window toget Tim's attention, tim looks
up with the deadest eyes I'veever seen in a man and he drives
off Jay.
They were very dead.
(36:18):
He has black rings around hiseyes and everything.
Jay is now being taunted by theARC uploader, who uploads a
video with things on the screensaying you abandon him and meet
again soon.
But how's tim doing with thissituation?
Let's get back to tim.
So we now see footage fromtim's chest camera and let me
(36:38):
tell you something that pissesme off about this chest camera
the audio sucks.
I know that may be the point, but you can tell it's talking
through like a piece of pro from2012.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
What do you?
Speaker 5 (36:48):
I don't care, I
expect cinema.
So, uh, we get footage fromtim's chest camera and there's
some trippy shit that startshappening.
Cue fucking um.
Iron butterfly, uh the, uh,what is it?
What's that song by IronButterfly In the God of the Vita
?
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Isn't that Iron
Butterfly?
That's no.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
That's Iron Butterfly
dog.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
No, it's not Iron
Butterfly.
Iron, just search up In the Godof the Vita, iron Butterfly.
Is that really?
Wow, I'm learning something.
You sure are You're wrong.
Still cue that song.
You, I are butterfly.
Is that really I?
Wow, I'm learning something.
I did not, you're wrong so cuethat song.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
You all know the song
.
It's the uh fucking um do, do,do, do do do, do, do do, do, do,
do do.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
I did not know that
was them.
Holy shit.
Oh yeah, baby why did.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
I think that was Led
Zeppelin, I think, because they
sound pretty similar you said itreally confidently, jason, so I
thought it was led zeppelin fora moment I was like yeah, mike
is an idiot dude.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
Every time I've heard
that song, I thought it was led
zeppelin.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Everyone in unison.
I'm glad that you all were justlike no, you're wrong, michael.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
So I didn't say
anything.
I didn't say anything.
All I said was I don't knowwhat you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
No, I jumped off the
cliff.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
I fully just stepped
back in my parachute.
I'm going to just watch.
I'm going to let this sort outitself, damn.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
All right, cool, I'm
learning shit.
Some trippy things start tohappen from Tim.
He wakes up in a pond of waterand when I say wake up, I sort
of mean like it goes from himlaying on the floor to just in
the water just dying.
I'm all gray.
And then it flashes to him justrunning around you see my
(38:33):
downstairs mix up then it cutsto him just running around.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
This is why part twos
are a bad idea.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
This is why part twos
are a great idea so then it
cuts to him running around theforest a bunch.
Some violently violent imageryof him screaming and basically
being tortured occurs on screen.
Then Tim seems to be kind of inlike this like hellscape area
it's.
He's in like this black void,it's all black around him,
except there's one person on theground dead, and it's that
(39:04):
random person that Alex killedbefore that was wearing like a
chef's coat for some reason.
You remember that guy, thisfucking swedish chef that alex
was just like, stop bothering meand just just murdered again
yeah, it's murdered an innocentchef on the swedish chef on his
way to sesame street, um.
So he then wakes up again backin a pond, um, where he makes
(39:25):
his way to his car this is kindof where he seems to go into,
like autopilot, as it shows himdriving.
He's not saying anything and hemakes his way back to that uh
hospital and annex area from theabandoned one from before and
he goes into um, one of therooms that they visited earlier.
He sits in one of the rooms andhe has a full-blown meltdown.
He's screaming things like letme out.
(39:47):
He's clawing at the walls.
He starts to hallucinate, seeing people in the room with
him, but there's no one there.
He says he's at the door, he'sright there, he's just bugging
out.
He goes into another room andhe takes his pills Not just one
pill, but room.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
And he takes his
pills Not just one pill, but he
takes the entire fucking bottleof pills which?
Speaker 5 (40:10):
yeah, not healthy,
yeah, not healthy.
He then finds the room that thehoodie walked out of that has
the graffiti on it that sayshe's a liar, and he just starts
wailing on it with a pipe.
That he sees.
So you know, super productive, until he gets sleepy and decides
to pass out and take a nap.
He meets back up with Jay.
That's the thing.
(40:30):
It just cuts.
It shows him pass out and thenjust cuts.
He's chilling with Jay and he'sbasically just vibing with Jay
and he's like Jay, I need totell you about some things we
need to talk and I need to showyou some stuff.
You need to tell you about somethings we need to talk and I
need to show you some stuff.
You need to come with me.
Save some shit, boy.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
See some things I
wouldn't recommend it.
Follow me through the goon door.
Speaker 5 (40:52):
Yeah, the goon door.
Tim says they need to go back tothe hospital together.
Why Tim takes Jay to the roomin the hospital that the fire
started.
It was Tim's room.
Tim started the fire.
(41:13):
It was always burning theoperator.
That wasn't scripted, I justthought I'd try to be funny.
It didn't work.
He went to the hospital when hewas younger.
Now Tim is concerned at thispoint that, since he used to
have the went to the hospitalwhen he was, uh, younger, uh.
Now tim is concerned at thispoint that, since he used to
have the hallucinations as achild, um, and that he is
connected to the hospital, thatall this shit is occurring and
(41:34):
that this is somehow his fault.
He created a tulpa he does kindof believe that he created tulpa
um all the people have beenhurt.
Uh, they're all hurt because ofhim.
Tim wonders if there are anyold, other old files in the
hospital that may containinformation on him.
At this point, um, jay tries toconsole him, but he does a
(41:55):
horrible job, because there'sone point where tim's just like
this might all be my fault andlike what if they all got killed
because of me?
And jay's just like well, Iguess we just got to get up and
keep going.
He's very bad at consoling thisguy.
It reminded me of the scene fromthe movie man of steel where,
like, um, there's a scene when,uh, superman's a little like
(42:17):
younger, like I don't know, likejunior high or something, and
their bus goes like careeningoff of a bridge and everyone's
about to drown and then, uh,super Superman, as a young boy,
saves everybody by pulling thebus out of the water and like
one little girl sees him, solike he has to like move to a
different school or something.
And like he's like crying aboutit and uh, his, his dad, paul
(42:38):
Kent, he's crying to him aboutit and Paul it.
And Paul Kent's just like Ishould never show off your power
, son.
Like you can't let people knowwhat you can do.
And Superman's like what do youthink?
What do you think?
I should just let all thosekids drown.
And Paul Kent's just like maybe, and it reminded me of that-
seems like the most economicalreligion in a nutshell I'm not
(42:58):
gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
I zoned out for a
second and I came back to you
talking about Superman and I wasso confused I was like it
reminded me of that, becausejay's horrible at consoling
people.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Catholics don't
believe in birth control, so
like 10 more are gonna followhim, so that's fine yeah, it's,
it's all good, dude.
Speaker 5 (43:14):
So again, tim wonders
if there's any old files that
uh may still be left in thebuilding that have information
on them.
Um, as they look for a fileroom, hoodie appears again.
Uh, they follow hoodie aroundwhere um like around the
hospital, where they find himgoing into a room and stashing a
tape under a bunch of rubble.
Um, jay breaks off from Tim.
(43:37):
Jay goes to get the tape andTim goes to follow hoodie.
Um, and they attempt to followHoodie where he promptly
disappears.
Tim is very upset that theydidn't catch Hoodie, but Jay's
at least a little happy thatthey were at least able to
acquire said tape.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
I wonder what the
tape might show a lot of stuff I
wonder we all went for the slow, wrong answer that's where my
part ends wowie zowie?
Speaker 2 (44:07):
first of all, bozo we
just found a tape, so what yeah
, who would have thought thatthere would be?
A tape in this series all aboutwhat's on the tapes?
What's on the tapes, Jay?
What's on the tapes?
(44:27):
What's on the tapes?
So this tape that gets founded,it's kind of fucked up.
It's like full of dirt and shitand it's super duper scratched
up.
But Jay is pretty convincedthat he's going to be able to
get some shit off of it anyway.
Mostly it doesn't play, but heis able to recover a little bit
(44:48):
of footage off of the tape.
So on this tape is Hoodiedragging Tim out of the hospital
that they were just in and thengoing back in, and then Hoodie
goes back in and wanders aroundthe hospital and a wild alex
appears.
So alex is like walking aroundthe hospital, clearly looking
(45:09):
for something or someone.
Um, and the tape cuts and thenwe see alex just fucking tied up
to a chair and and then Timcomes running out of a room and
just beats the ever-loving fuckout of Alex and Alex falls down
on the floor.
And then Hoodie walks up, grabsAlex's gun that he has, pulls
(45:31):
it on him, points it at his headand is about to shoot him.
And then this Lindy boy himselfshows up and apparently stops
him from shooting him.
So the rest of the tape ispretty fucked up, except for a
few minutes at the end, whichshows a hoodie dude with a gun,
(45:51):
and then Tim wakes up in a fieldand he looks down and the mask
that he's been wearing to bemasky is on the ground.
And then he stumbles around abit and he wanders off.
So we cut back to Jay and he'sin a motel room and he gets a
call and Tim is all like yo,what up, I'm ahead to you.
(46:13):
And so Tim shows up and thenthey decide to get the fuck out
of town.
Then they decide to get thefuck out of town.
So in the meantime hoodieapparently uploads a video
himself which is him wanderingaround in an old building that
he's apparently been staying in,and while he's in this old
building, alex attacks him anddemands that hoodie tell him
(46:35):
where jay and tim have gone.
So it's very clear that alex issearching for Jay and Tim, which
is part of why they got out oftown to begin with.
So Hoodie runs away from Alexand then hides down in that
shaft that we saw earlier.
So we go back to Tim and Jayand they are on a road trip and
(46:57):
they are heading back to whereeverybody in this whole shit
used to live.
So it was addressed a littlebit earlier on that for some
reason jay had moved to adifferent location and tim just
showed up there, and so nowthey're going back this was
assumedly so, just to just tocall way the fuck back to when
(47:18):
we saw, uh, alex and amytogether.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
This is, I think this
is assumedly so, just to call
way the fuck back to when we sawAlex and Amy together.
This is, I think this isassumedly around the same time
as this is where he moved.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
Yeah, I'm not sure if
it's a coincidence that Alex
and Jay ended up moving to thesame place, or oh.
I have no idea, yeah Anyway, hey, man, when you run out of
locations to film at you.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
Gotta work with what
you got.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
We'll get to alex
moving here in a second.
So they're going back andthey're backtracking to all the
places where they filmed marblehornets, and so they go back to
the park that has the gazebo andthe red tower and they go to
the red tower and while they'reinvestigating the red tower,
suddenly jay is.
I saw somebody in the woods.
He actually does this twice, this is the second time but he's
(48:03):
like hey, I saw somebody in thewoods and he makes Tim like go
back through the film that he'sbeen recording.
And Tim's like dude, there'snobody here.
I think you're just imaginingstuff.
So he's like all right, whatever, but I'm pretty sure I
know what I saw.
So they start walking off andjay trips into this hole and
(48:25):
conveniently this happens to bea hole that alex has apparently
stashed a bunch of tapes that heattempted to burn.
So they they're pulling allthese tapes out and they're all
melted and shit and jay's likeI'm pretty sure I can recover
stuff off of this.
Speaker 5 (48:37):
He's very optimistic
about the plots are really
saving them, right?
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Exactly, it's like
it's been how many years at this
point, like seven years andthese burn tapes have been
chilling in this hole in theground just exposed to the
elements.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
I got it.
Yeah, you tell me it didn't orrain in that time.
Speaker 2 (48:56):
It's like I'm in the
seven years I happen to have
trained to become a professionalArchivist and I'm pretty sure I
can recover the data off ofthese tapes.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Magneticism and
fucking degradation aside, that
job that you didn't know I hadRight.
Speaker 2 (49:15):
That job that's been
paying for my $50 a night motels
, so anyway, In this economy.
He is successful in doing so,though.
So they review the tapes andit's more footage of Marble
Hornets filming and it's morefootage of Alex being a total
schizo.
And so the first one that wesee is Alex and he's in a car
(49:36):
and he's driving and he totallygaslights Amy on the phone into
believing that he's home.
And he's driving and he totallygaslights amy on the phone into
believing that he's home andhe's going to bed and she's like
are you sure you're at home?
And he's like, oh yeah, she'slike there's a bunch of noise in
the background.
He's like, yeah, the signal'sbad out here.
It probably, you know, you'reprobably just hearing
interference or whatever.
Anyway, he gets to theplayground that we have seen
(49:57):
before, where he saw the slendyboy, the operator himself, and
he waits for the operator toshow up and tries to attack him
and it does not work.
So Jay speculates that thereason that Alex didn't give him
this tape was because it hadsomething to do with Amy, and
either he didn't want to hearthe conversation with Amy or he
didn't want people to know aboutsomething about Amy.
(50:20):
But anyway, they keep digginginto these tapes that he's able
to recover.
There's more footage of Alexjust generally being paranoid.
And then Jay, in one of thesetapes Jay shows up at Alex's
house and it appears that Alexis packing to leave.
So Alex is like I don't want tofilm this movie anymore, I'm
just getting the hell out oftown.
(50:40):
And Jay's like, well, give methe tapes.
And so Alex does, give Jay thetapes and as Jay is leaving and
putting the tapes in his car, alex comes flying out of the
house and just fucking assaultshim Like, throws him down on the
ground, starts punching him andshit.
And Jay's like I do notremember this happening at all.
I am pretty sure that whatactually happened was I just
(51:07):
showed up to his house, I tookthe tapes, I left and none of
this happened.
Um, it is addressed in theconversation with alex and amy
that alex is like I'm gonna moveto go be with you once we're
done filming all this.
Um, which is a sort of acallback to like why alex got
out of town.
But it's pretty obvious thatalex is actually fleeing to get
away from the operator, butapparently he's going to be with
amy wherever she's going tocollege.
(51:29):
So after they reviewed thesetapes, jay and tim decided to go
back to the house that alex wasstaying in, which is now
entirely empty, except for someof those pages that they find in
a closet.
And so while they're standingthere looking at these tapes or
looking at these pages, jay'slike, oh shit, I just saw dat
(51:52):
boy out in the fucking fieldoutside this window.
And tim's like what are yousure?
And he's like yeah, 100.
The operator's standing outthere in the field and tim like
peeks over the window and he'slike there's nobody there, my
sure.
And he's like yeah, 100%.
The operator's standing outthere in the field and Tim like
peeks over the window and he'slike there's nobody there, my
guy.
And they like review the tapeand stuff, and there's nobody
there.
And Tim like starts gettingsuper fucking mad at him and
he's like you're just imaginingshit, just like I did See, you
(52:21):
need to start taking the car.
And then they're like maybe weshould check the basement.
So they decide to go back intothe house and check out the
basement.
And they get down into thebasement and suddenly it's dark
outside.
They can see through thewindows that it's dark outside.
There's like been a time skiphere.
So they turn around and thereis dat boy and dat boy, dat boy
starts chasing him.
(52:41):
So they run away and they runout into the field and then Tim
like loses track of J and so hecomes back to try to find him
and the operator is standingover J and Tim's like I got this
.
So he like fucking pulls outhis knife and tries to assault
the operator, but nothinghappens.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
And the operator he
tries to assault him with a
pocket knife yeah like a littletiny oh that that comes back so
soon after this getcha.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
Yeah, yeah, thank you
, pay attention to that.
Just keep that pocket knife inmind yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
So he tries to attack
him with his knife and he ends
up falling down and so we cutback to hoodie and he's in his
little bitty house that he'sbeen chilling in and it appears
that alex has like messed up hisshit and so he like tries, he
gets his gun and um, he likestarts walking out and like a
(53:38):
bunch of audio distortionshappen and he falls to the
ground.
He finds a stash of pills whichI guess help with all this shit
.
Tim decides to take Jay back tothe motel.
Jay doesn't remember anythingabout being attacked.
Tim tells him that he startedactually giving him his psych
meds because he thinks it'llhelp him resist the operator's
(53:59):
effects.
Speaker 5 (53:59):
He says this has
something to do.
This has never give people yourpills, right.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Yeah, um, and so he
also reveals that he found a
tape that shows the hoodie guybreaking into Tim's house.
Um, and apparently hoodie hasbeen stealing Tim's meds and
Alex has also been hiding in hisattic.
So they go back to Tim's houseand they find some pills, but
Alex isn't there.
And they discover that alex'smakeshift bed and tim's attic
(54:24):
has a picture of amy underneathit and there's an address on the
back.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
I have to just
interject that's weird it's so
funny when they go to tim'shouse and they're looking for
that pill, the pills that he hid, he's just like, oh yeah, I put
some pills over here, and hejust like moves a couch and
starts like digging behind thecouch Like he fucking.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
I just stash pills
around my house.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
I just thought it was
so funny.
I was like what?
Speaker 5 (54:48):
the fuck are you
doing?
Yeah, it's totally what normalpeople do with their psych meds.
I put it back here forsafekeeping.
Speaker 3 (54:56):
I keep fucking losing
my pills.
There's no way he has that manyrefills.
Let's be real.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Yeah, he's like even
after they find the bottle.
He's like I'll be able to usethis for a refill.
He's like how many refills havethey been giving you?
At some point they're supposedto call your doctor, right.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
Hey doc, I need a
refill.
It's been like three days.
Speaker 4 (55:21):
Yeah, some guy in a
mask stole mine, so I kind of
need more.
His name is Dr Username, solike it's just really, whenever
you want to log in and sign upfor meds, there you go.
Oh, you mean Dr Fartbutt?
Yeah, dr Fartbutt.
Dr Marcus Fartbutt.
Speaker 5 (55:33):
That's the guy, holy
shit.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
It's been like a
hundred episodes since we've
referenced that I'm pretty sureI said something about the fact
that we hadn't referenced it inlike one of the last few
episodes did you really?
Not talking about marcusfartbutt, should now be the
marcus fartbutt not referencingit at all cool anyway.
So, uh, they started lookingaround tim's house and they're
(55:58):
looking for a tape that shows upin the video that Hody uploaded
.
And suddenly Jay attacks Timand he's like where's the
fucking tape?
Man, give me the fucking tape.
And Tim's like I don't have atape.
And then he falls to the groundand then a tape falls out and
he absolutely fucking has a tape.
And Jay picks up the tape andhe's like what's on this tape,
man?
And Tim's like it's somethingthat you need to see, but not
(56:21):
right now.
And so Jay starts fuckingbooking it and getting away.
And so the tape that he finds orthat Tim was hiding from him
contains footage of Masky andHoodie just straight up
kidnapping Jessica from thehotel that she and Jay were
staying in.
So after she gets kidnapped, alex shows up and he apparently
(56:45):
shoots one of them and tries tosave Jessica, and so they run to
the tunnel that we saw earlier, and then Alex pulls a gun on
Jessica, who tackles him andthen runs away.
And then the operator shows upand disables Alex, and then Hody
chases Jessica and then Jessicalays, and then the operator
shows up and disables alex, andthen hoodie chases jessica, and
then jessica lays down on theground and then jessica just
(57:06):
fucking disappears and hoodieruns into the road where she was
laying and he's like where shedid go and then she's gone.
So the operator apparently donedid take her damn you operator.
Speaker 5 (57:19):
They even make a
reference.
They're like, oh, it looks likeit's the same thing that
happened to fucking the Swedishchef guy that Alex killed in a
tunnel.
They're like, oh, he just kindof vanished.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
Yeah, and we also see
it in a video where Alex just
disappears when the operatorshows up.
Yeah, people just.
Cue.
Uh, what the fuck is that thingcalled Theremin the?
Speaker 4 (57:41):
theremin yeah.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
I want a fucking
theremin.
So goddamn bad.
Speaker 4 (57:50):
You look like a guy
who plays a theremin.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (57:52):
the beard.
I feel like I should have beentold that before in my life, but
I haven't.
I haven't.
Doug, I wish you were not wrong, but you are so goddamn right.
I can't look at this webcam andlook at the person that I see
and say, yeah, that man doesn'town a theremin.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
Can someone do a
supercut of episodes of just
Jason's beard becoming longerepisode by episode?
I would like that sent to ouremail, please.
Thank you, Holy shit, yeah,Please somebody do that.
Speaker 5 (58:31):
More gray as well.
Speaker 4 (58:32):
Oh, there's so much
more gray as of recent.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
Y'all, I'm graying so
bad.
This is crazy.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
Matt, are you squared
away with your yeah?
Yeah, that's the end of mysection okay, cool, we're
reaching the conclusion, people,we are um.
So, simply because I have twoversions of the outline in my
document, matt, would you mindsaying the last thing that you
covered, so I can line up mypart with yours?
The last thing that I coveredwas entry 76, and it's um where
(59:07):
jessica gets kidnapped by hoodieand and masky yeah, yeah, and
you see, alex, and all the wholedeal, cool, cool, okay, and she
disappears.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
The operator done did
, took her apparently done did.
Speaker 4 (59:18):
She might have arced,
he might have arced her, who
knows?
Speaker 3 (59:22):
all right.
So the next section is 77through 87.
This is the final bits of thisseries.
So after months of searchingand piercing together fragments
of corrupted footage, jayfinally tracks tim down, but
instead of a like reunion orexplanation, he is violently
ambushed and knocked down andtied up inside of tim's home.
(59:45):
So this is kind of a turningpoint.
Jay, who's been documentingeverything, is now totally
powerless and the story kind ofshifts into tim's perspective of
things.
And then we get some strangethings happen.
The hooded man, the same figurewho appeared in the background
time and time again, enters thehouse, walks right past Jay and
(01:00:08):
then basically leaves a knifenext to him.
He doesn't speak, he doesn'tattack, he just gives Jay the
option to either free himself ornot and then sets down a camera
and just totally disappears.
This could be a gesture ofmercy or manipulation, depending
on how you interpret Hoodie'smotives, but we don't really
(01:00:31):
know At this point in time.
So from there Both Jay andTim's perspective Begin to start
to kind of unfold.
Side by side, jay follows Timto an old to start to kind of
unfold.
Side by side, jay follows Timto an old, deteriorated building
known as Benedict Hall, whichwe're going to start to see a
lot of.
And then Jay arrives to findthe hooded man lingering in the
(01:00:52):
shadow and glimpses of Timslipping in and out of the
building.
So we're doing a bit of jumpingback and forth right now between
videos of Tim and videos of Jay.
But right now we're looking atthe events through Jay's eyes.
This is after he's beenreleased and has the camera.
(01:01:14):
Now we get some audiodistortions, as usual, and
something seems to be wronginside.
Jay goes into the building andhe starts to, you know, have all
the same symptoms of thesickness or whatever we want to
call it.
So Jay ends up encountering theoperator, which is par for the
(01:01:48):
course, and actually ends uprunning into alex too.
Um, it's kind of all a big blur, um of confusion and distorted
audio and screaming and static, and then kind of silence, as
it's implied that maybe jay hasbeen shot.
Uh, the footage cuts and we'renot actually really left knowing
whether or not he's alive ordead.
And then we jump over to Tim'scamera, which kind of starts to
fill in the blanks.
So we see his disoriented trekthrough the Benedict Hall, where
(01:02:14):
he goes through a bunch ofcoughing fits as is normal, the
operator appears and reappearsor disappears fits, as is normal
.
Um, the operator appears andreappear or disappears, and we
get this endless pursuit ofsomething that I don't even
think tim quite understands.
Um, he's kind of going throughthis like self journey at the
same time, um, and we kind ofsee that in his uh we've seen
(01:02:35):
that in other episodes too wherehe essentially is like i't know
, kind of fighting his owndemons as like also fighting
real demons uh per se, but, um,he just kind of doesn't behave
normally here and uh, tim runsthrough these same spaces
repeatedly, repeatedly, chasingthe hooded man.
(01:02:55):
We see a bit of uh like, uhlike, uh like distortion, and
where they are?
They go through the forest, they're in Benedict Hall,
they're in the abandonedbuilding, and you can tell that,
like I think we've said thisbefore, but not all doors lead
to the same spaces in the showand finally he he ended up ends
(01:03:18):
up chasing the hooded man and wesee him hanging or I guess not
hanging, but kind of like pushedover a ledge, and he falls from
the top floor and we're kind ofleft questioning whether or not
he's truly dead or not.
Um, but uh, yeah, it's, it'skind of a, it's a pivotal moment
(01:03:39):
here.
We, we get some kind of closureon, okay, the Hooded man seems
to be out of the game now, andthen we get kind of a revelation
the Hooded man had a tape whichwe then see, basically early
days of Marble Hornets.
It's Alex's casting footage andit's like a behind the scenes
(01:04:02):
kind of deal.
So we see a much younger groupobviously, and this is kind of
where we are finally confirmedthat it is indeed Brian who is
the hooded man.
So we see both Brian and Timgive a uh, an inner, uh,
basically what is, uh, theircasting audition, um, which is
(01:04:26):
they're not good, but that'sbesides the point.
Um, but we do see Brian wearingthe like the classic hood, uh,
hoodie jacket or whatever.
So that's, that's kind of likethis is the first time we're
like, okay, it was kind of easyto tell, but he is for sure the
hooded man, um, and yeah, andnow he's uh, you know, we, we
(01:04:48):
kind of we can kind of infer acouple of things.
Like he was involved from thebeginning, he will, he was not
just a victim of the operator,um, and he's been watching the
entire time, kind of beingsilently pulled into the
operator's influence.
I guess you could say hismotives are still kind of
unclear, which is interestingtoo, because they they really
(01:05:11):
like to do this thing.
Where, essentially, they theydo this thing where, like I
don't know, it's hard to uh,they essentially answer a
question without answering thequestion, if that makes sense.
Um, so basically we're stillleft with just a bunch of of of
questions, but, um, we did get alittle closure that we now know
(01:05:33):
it's Brian.
Um, so, with that being said, uh, basically, tim, tim starts to
kind of focus his time andefforts on Alex now and kind of
calls him out and he ends upwaiting for Alex to just show up
at his home and he doesn't showup.
And so he's like you know whatI'm just going to?
(01:05:53):
I'm going to leave my homeinstead and maybe he'll, he'll
come then, for whatever reason, and he does.
And to alex showing up at hishouse and, um, basically, alex
just goes like full scorchedearth.
Um, he's screaming, um, he'slighting his home on fire, which
(01:06:16):
uh, looks pretty impressive oncamera, honestly and yeah, he is
just like he's pissed.
It's not just revenge, he'sjust literally there to destroy
Tim and everyone else, but yeah,he's essentially what Alex
thinks is happening is that heneeds to wipe away everyone
(01:06:40):
connected to the operator tomake it stop.
Um, but that doesn't happen andtim ends up escaping.
And uh, yeah, now it's kind ofpersonal for tim.
He's, he's pissed, tim isfucking po'd um their final uh,
when he does finally catch up toAlex, they end up returning to
(01:07:01):
Benedict Hall and Alex has thiskind of calm rationale, explains
his whole philosophy to him andhe goes through this kind of
monologue, essentially statingthat he's got to wipe out
everyone that the operatorsinfluenced and he's convinced
this is the only solution justtotal erasure of everything.
(01:07:24):
Um, and Tim kind of won't haveit, and what follows is a very
chaotic fight.
Um, tim brutally, brutallymurders Alex.
Um, and you can tell like he's,he's a goner, he's for dead.
Um, and you know tim hasfinally finished things once and
for all and that kind of bringsus to the end of things.
(01:07:48):
Uh, and yeah, tim, we, we get ashot of tim driving through town
, not quite sure where he'sgoing.
Um, you can tell he's justburnt out, he's done, he, he's
got nothing left in him.
Um, and we see that hereconnects with jessica and
she's only she's one of the onlysurvivors.
Um, it's kind of confirmed nowthat pretty much everyone's dead
(01:08:11):
jay's dead, brian's dead, alexis dead, amy's dead um, jessica
and tim are the only ones thatmade it it and it's pretty clear
he doesn't.
When he's talking to her, hedoesn't even know what's coming
next.
Their exchange is pretty quietand resigned.
There's no revelations, there'sno closure, and in the final
(01:08:34):
moments we see Tim alone in hiscar, just driving and he takes a
handful of pills, looks forwardand that's it.
And really all we can assumehere is that the operator is the
real winner and that, uh, noone else is really coming out of
(01:08:55):
this with any sort of you know, know, there's nothing going
right for anyone that's beenleft.
They just went through thesehorrific, horrific events and,
yeah, that's where we leave off.
The series kind of closes witha slow, painful drift into
uncertainty and we can onlyassume the operator's still out
(01:09:20):
there doing God knows what toGod knows who, and that's it.
Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
Everything is fine.
Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
Is not a single third
party in the like at all any
family member investigating thedead individuals.
Speaker 4 (01:09:37):
None of these people
have mothers, none of them have
uncles, none of them Jobs, noneA pet.
None of these people havemothers, none of them have
uncles, none of them have jobs apet but that is the last entry
for Marvel Hormones yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:09:51):
So I'm gonna, I'm
actually gonna cover, I'm gonna
go very quickly here because Iknow we've been going on for
quite a while, but I'm gonnacover the comics.
So I just want to say thesecomics are not free.
They are paid on the Gramposite.
I highly recommend that you goand you, if you like Marble
(01:10:12):
Hornets, you go and pick up thecomics.
There are currently four and ahalf volumes.
They are not super expensive.
You can download them, you canbuy physical copies.
Please go, support these guys.
They deserve it.
Um, I'm going to summarize thesevery uh, I'm going to leave out
a lot of details because I wantyou to go and I want you to
read the comics if you do likethe series, because I think it's
(01:10:35):
worth the time and the read.
Um, they're not super long, um,and you can knock them out and
like it's like a five minuteread for each volume, um.
But so the last video we had Ibelieve the last upload was 2014
.
I believe is from when 87 um iscomes out.
That's the end of season three, sounds right?
The comics are canon and theyare technically season four
(01:10:58):
right now.
As far as what they've saidjune 20th 2014 yep, so 2014 was
the last video, so this firstissue came out in 2019, so you
know, a whole five years later, pretty much, um.
So issue one is called regards.
The story picks up, uh, afterthe youtube series ends
primarily following jessica lock, um, who ends up surviving the
(01:11:22):
Marble Hornets tapes.
She's now trying to live anormal life.
It's actually a couple of yearsafter the events, but she's
trying to have a normal life asa delivery driver and she is
still suffering from theoperator's lingering influence
memory loss, blackouts,distorted vision, etc.
We're also introduced to twocharacters named Adam and David.
These are two guys who areinvestigating the Rosswood Park.
(01:11:45):
They're basically big fans ofMarble Hornets.
They start experiencing similarsymptoms as Jay and the others
did from the original series.
We get a new masked figure thatappears in this issue that is
actually watching them from theshadows and it's not clear who
they are quite yet.
(01:12:06):
And then we go into issue two, which is called Eyes Open.
Jessica has gone to see adoctor and their name is Taylor.
They're a medical technicianwho's monitoring their symptoms
of blackouts and neural activityetc.
Their symptoms of blackouts andneural activity, etc.
Jessica is suffering fromvisual distortion, dissociation,
hallucinations and all thisother shit and they begin doing
(01:12:29):
all these tests on her.
Meanwhile, adam and David arestill investigating Rosswood,
but this time they go back atnight and the experience
intensifies and they beginhaving panic attacks, hearing
voices, seeing all theseimpossible things.
In the woods they find someremnants of like to the arc
style graffiti and operatorsymbols, kind of alluding to
(01:12:50):
saying like hey, there's someactive shit going on here.
To a scully is seen bothobserving um, adam and jessica
and uh, suggesting he's not justtied to rosswood but also, uh,
pretty much anyone affected bythe operator.
Um.
Issue three, uh, was releasedin march 2021, so the second
(01:13:13):
issue was in 2020, third issuesin 2021.
So it takes a while for them tocrank these out.
Apparently, um, this one'scalled you are broken, which is
something that we heard from theoriginal series, where it says
you're broken, you can't befixed.
Um, jessica's condition isstarting to deteriorate and
taylor, the nurse or thetechnician, um, is becoming very
skeptical of the equipmentshe's using because all the all
(01:13:35):
the tests are coming out likemessed up and glitched.
There are hints that Taylor maybe getting pulled into the same
sickness as Jessica and theoriginal Marble Hornets crew
started to experience.
And Adam then returns toRosswood alone without David and
(01:14:03):
um, on, uh, in the forest, ontoan operator site where there
was like a bunch of stuff leftover from some of the victims
belongings, which you do learnthat uh, essentially, um, like
22 plus people have gone missingin this forest and, um, yeah,
it's super, they, they've kindof expanded on the story a
little bit there, um, and sojessica and adam's story start
to kind of intertwine.
Um, they're both having thesickness that, uh, everyone else
(01:14:24):
was, but, um, scully is nowshown a little bit more close up
, a bit more corporeal than hewas before, um, and is clearly
following both of them.
So basically, uh, we, we do, uhsee that scully is trying to
recruit Jessica to help kill theoperator, which is probably
(01:14:45):
going to be a big plot pointhere, and that ends that issue.
And then the half issue isissue 3.5, called To the Ark,
and this is actually what Ithink so far has been the most
important thing to tie up onthese ends based on what you
told us.
Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
After all of us
seeing this whole series like,
yes, this is so important yeah, this is super, super big.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
Um, this was released
in 2022.
Um, it's a non-linear, loreheavy issue told primarily from
the perspective of hoodie brian.
Um, and we follow him as heexists in this like liminal
extra dimensional space calledthe arc.
So we finally see the arc.
Actually, it's a surrealmetaphysical environment with,
like, pretty much the souls ofanyone that the operator has
(01:15:30):
taken Brian ends up interactingwith, like echoes of Jay and
Alex.
Both are, which, like, arethey're like broken spirits
essentially within this realm.
Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
This is where the
scully Shinigamis right, exactly
, shinigami tensei or whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:15:46):
Yeah this is where
you're promoted to willem dafoe,
yeah okay, yeah, yeah, um.
Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
so scully now
revealed to be the collective of
former operator victims.
Uh, he like takes his mask offand you see like j's face, and
then you see Alex's face and yousee all these other faces
offers the victims kind of likea salvation that they can merge
with him to become something newand protected from further
torment of the operator.
(01:16:11):
The merging process is abstractand very emotional, it seems,
but you can kind of see allthese emotions coming out on the
different people that areinside of them.
Jay seems regret, alex is angryand defensive, and now Brian is
caught in the like, this kindof in between, and eventually
Brian agrees to join Scully, implying Scully is not just one
(01:16:33):
person but a networkedconsciousness of those consumed
by the arc.
So the arc is a place.
It's where he was taking thosepeople that disappeared.
It just seems like some peoplecould get out somehow, like
Jessica, for instance, and weactually saw I think it was Tim
sees the dark area with the Arkessentially in it at one point,
(01:16:59):
but that's where that issue ends.
And then we get the last issue.
This came out in 2023.
It's called can you see me?
And basically jessica is superspiraling out, doesn't know
what's real anymore.
She's seeing visions of jay.
she hears the operator um likeeverywhere she goes is going in
the visions they gunan in thevisions, um, they're having
(01:17:22):
dreams of rosswood, even whenthey're nowhere near it.
And then adam and david, theirfriendship is just going down
the tube.
They're just, they're fightingeach other.
They're trying to, uh,basically get um jessica's
autograph because they thinkthat she's like an actress, but
don't realize that this is allreal.
And then scully shows up andfucking everyone's like who the
(01:17:44):
fuck are these two random guys?
And they start fighting andbasically fucking dude kills
David and pushes him into thearc.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
It's a whole fucked
up thing all I can think of is
Scully from the Office can Ijust say okay, have you guys all
seen John Dies at the End?
Speaker 4 (01:18:04):
I have, but it's been
a long time.
Do you remember what they madeKorok look like?
Nope, nope, can't say that I,the big mass of flesh that was
eating people.
God.
Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
I don't really.
Apparently I don't rememberthat movie very well.
Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
Well, if anyone out
here has ever remembered john
dies at the end, uh, this wholeconcept reminds me of korok.
The arc seems like just anamalgamation of flesh and
knowledge, which is right.
Again, if you go watch themovie john dies at the end or,
honestly better yet, read thebook, you will either read or
see uh, this amalgamation ofjust human bodies and spiders
(01:18:46):
and intestines, and it's just.
Speaker 3 (01:18:48):
It's horrible, but
also amazing um, yeah, and then
so pretty much, uh, that'spretty much it for the comics.
Um, the last thing I have hereis just that scully begins kind
of open, openly appearing in thedaytime.
Now he never really speaks, umkind of just observes, standing
in areas and making othersremain unaware of him.
(01:19:09):
Um, but it seems like theoperators world in our world is
starting to break down and Ithink that's why scully wants
jessica's help in like killingthe operator.
And again, spoilers, I guess, but so is this whole series,
because we're covering it.
But do go, go read the comics.
They're really, they're prettygood, the arts really nice, I
(01:19:31):
enjoyed it and they're easyreads.
So, yeah, picture books so.
So I don't know shit.
What's, what's left here?
Speaker 5 (01:19:42):
there's really
nothing left, creators, I guess
I wouldn't even have to reallygo into them.
Speaker 4 (01:19:46):
I say at this point
because this is already been a
time probably, yeah this is.
Speaker 5 (01:19:50):
This has already been
a very long episode.
I just want I can do a brief, just like what they've done what
they're doing.
Speaker 4 (01:19:57):
It's.
I mean I wouldn't have you guysheard Ekvanet.
Have you heard Clearlegs 44?
Have you heard of the channelcalled THAC, called Troy has a
Camera?
Go check them out.
Troy Wagner Troy.
Wagner is like the main behindall of this.
It's also alongside JosephDeLage and Tim Sutton, as well
(01:20:19):
as Noah Scammon at the verylater seasons.
They do a bunch.
They, I mean they do a bunch.
They've got what Ekvanet thatwe actually have covered.
Yeah, we've covered Ekvanet.
Clear Lakes 44.
I think also we've covered that.
Speaker 5 (01:20:33):
No, we did Lake City,
but we haven't.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
No, we didn't do
Clear Lakes.
Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Oh no we yeah, lake
City Quiet, pills.
Speaker 3 (01:20:39):
That's what.
Speaker 4 (01:20:40):
I'm thinking of Cool,
yeah, we got Clear Lakes.
Well, we may do it.
I don't know They've done that, but they also have apparently
an upcoming question markproject.
Speaker 5 (01:20:52):
I'm pretty sure that
upcoming question mark project
is the sequel to this Rosswood, because a month ago they posted
a trailer, but we don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:20:59):
Mike, you're not
wrong, you're not wrong, you're
not wrong, but he posted on hischannel there is a trailer for a
Rosswood We'll see, though, butI'm not smart enough to find it
.
Speaker 5 (01:21:11):
It's on the Discord.
We shall see, but I do want tokind of get you know your guys'
opinion.
I know we're running a littlelow on time.
Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
I really like this
series.
I know we're running a littlelow on time, but I really like
this series.
I feel like it's got a lotgoing.
As far as like just beingnostalgic.
I've watched this before, backin the day, I don't I didn't
remember as much as I thought Idid, but yeah, no, I enjoy it
quite thoroughly.
I'm I'm not the biggest fan ofSlenderman as a same, as a whole
(01:21:44):
, I guess I I but I do like itsuse in this quite a bit, like
they did it, really really well,I guess it's one of those
things where, like it's, maybeit's overdone a bit by like kids
who oh, at this point, yes, but, but when this came out, it was
I.
Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
I would venture a
guess to say that it wasn't
overdone.
Yeah, but when this came out, Iwould venture a guess to say
that it wasn't overdone.
I remember seeing this when Iwas younger.
Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
This came out around
the time of the game, A year
after they started the SomethingAwful forums post right.
Speaker 4 (01:22:17):
Yeah, oh my god.
Yes, this is where it allstarted.
Something Awful.
They posted something onSomething.
Speaker 5 (01:22:23):
Awful.
They posted literally theintroduction video.
Speaker 4 (01:22:26):
Yes, something awful,
and it took the fuck off from
there.
That's how this shit used tohappen.
You post to a forum.
If you got any kind of reaction, you made it.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
Yeah, it's a very
good.
It was very fun.
I thoroughly did enjoy it.
I like that.
It it's a very good.
It was very fun.
I thoroughly did enjoy it.
I like that.
It was nice to see where a lotof the tropes that we find
annoying now.
It was nice to see where theykind of started Because you
could tell it was fresh.
Back then it worked because itwas fresh and they were still
coming up with ways to do thesetropes, where now it's just some
(01:22:59):
generic bullshit.
They were actively making themcreative and cool.
It's comparing CGI from Ironman 2008 to now, where before it
looked really good, now itlooks shitty because it's
expected.
Now Before it was just a flair.
It has that vibe to it to me,but I enjoyed it.
(01:23:20):
There's a lot of bits where I'mjust like what the fuck was any
of that?
I do think this went way longerthan it needed to.
Yeah, um, that's my.
You know I'm not trying to bagon the creators because I
couldn't fucking make anything, especially as young as they
probably were when they made it.
Um, I'm just saying like Idon't think you needed 87 videos
.
Plus I think there's 130something total with the arc
(01:23:41):
videos included.
Oh yeah, I don't think heneeded all that over four years
to tell the story here.
Um could have gotten rid ofabout 40.
Yeah, it could have beencondensed down.
I think they lost the plot.
Um, not in a bad way again,it's just.
To me the whole plot just doesnot make that much sense.
I think it's mostly justaesthetic driving this whole
(01:24:02):
thing and vibes driving thiswhole thing, which isn't bad.
Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
but I will say a.
Thing.
Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
But, it isn't good.
It's one of those things wherethey tried to extend it, I think
, and without a fully fleshedplan to begin with, but they
manage it a lot better than someof the other stuff that we've
seen.
Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 2 (01:24:21):
The earlier videos I
think are the horror itself, and
you mentioned this.
Like I don't know if it's justbecause of the shitty video
quality that isn't.
It's difficult to replicate the480p like shitty sony handheld
cam video quality with just likefilters and davinciinci Resolve
or whatever, but like I don'tknow if it's that or if they
(01:24:45):
actually pull off the horrorextremely well.
But especially some of thevideos in the first 20 videos
are genuinely terrifying, there's good jump scares and
then there's like it jump scaresyou just enough and it shows
him just enough that like therest of it becomes terrifying,
because you're like I don't knowwhat's about to happen and
(01:25:08):
you're like constantly waitingfor it yeah yeah, you can feel
that it kind of like slips awayfrom a like a, a very horror
heavy series to like almost likejust like a drama that has
Slenderman in the background.
Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
I just like a drama
that has Slenderman in the
background.
Speaker 4 (01:25:24):
Ooh.
I just have a very goodquestion for these horror series
.
I feel like if a horror seriesmakes you forget reality in any
capacity, it's doing a very goodjob.
I feel like this is one thatabsolutely did that.
Can we give that a name?
Not?
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:25:46):
Suspension.
Speaker 5 (01:25:46):
Because, boy, I can't
think of anything.
Suspension of disbelief.
Yeah suspension of disbelief.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
Yeah, grumpo, I don't
mind that they flesh out the
story more Bad sex I think it'sfine.
I think the story is fine, but, like you said, it's way too
long.
It's so fucking long.
It probably wasn't that gruelingto get through if you were
actually following along at thetime and they were just
(01:26:13):
uploading it in five-minutesegments.
I can watch five minutes once aweek or whatever, but to go
back and watch all eight hoursof it is actually a grueling
task To go back and watch alleight hours of it is actually a
grueling task.
Speaker 3 (01:26:24):
Yeah, I think to your
point, matt.
I think there was also the likeyou had the Twitter that you
could follow along.
And again, I think you guys areprobably so annoyed of me going
the comprehensive timeline.
If you look at thecomprehensive timeline, though,
you can see all the posts inlike order and you can see the
Twitters in order and, like youknow, people were interacting
(01:26:49):
with them before uploads and, like you get a little bit of
info that you maybe not got, like would have got in one of
the entries and like you kind ofsaw in real time jay going
through the emotions and likethe actions of getting to like
point a to b, and then seeingthe video after a week of
twitters and you're like, ohfuck, like what happened.
And then you see it.
And then seeing the video aftera week of Twitters and you're
like, oh fuck, what happened.
And then you see it and thenit's like, oh, I got another
couple days before anotherupload and shit like that.
Speaker 5 (01:27:11):
At the end of the day
, though, the whole plot makes
no goddamn sense, because Alexat the end is really pissed at
Tim because he started this all.
But, if you remember, alex gaveJay the tapes and nothing
happened up until that point.
Speaker 4 (01:27:27):
Dude.
That's the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (01:27:28):
So Alex was the
starting point of it all.
According to yourinterpretation, yes, he was so
upset about the situation andthe operator that's been
stalking him.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
But why does he want
to kill Jay Correct?
I guess you can explain.
To give away the tapes, hedecided to kill Jay Correct.
I guess you can explain it allthe way, as all these individual
characters are justhallucinating because of the
operator and the operator isjust legitimately sowing chaos.
Speaker 5 (01:27:52):
But why is he doing
it, though?
Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
So that he can take
their bodies once they die, I
guess.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
Can we just say that
that's something that I don't
think we know yet.
Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
Take.
That's something that I don'tthink we know.
Take better people's bots.
Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
Can we just say that
the operator, absolutely 100%,
is Nyarlathotep.
He's pretty damn close.
He's definitely just a chaosbringer.
Speaker 4 (01:28:12):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (01:28:13):
The crawling chaos,
find better people to possess
and whatnot.
You found a bunch of lanky, scrawny white people.
Go to fucking Muscle.
Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Beach, what better?
Speaker 5 (01:28:21):
Find a buff dude,
possess him.
Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
Possess a squirrel
got some meat get them I was.
I was kind of thinking about itwhen you asked you like what's
the point of the like the plot?
And like, yes, there's a lot ofplot, like there's a lot of
leftover plot that we don't getor haven't gotten yet through
the comics.
But like, I mean, realistically, the series is just about some
kids that are going through it.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:28:44):
Yeah, but they never
establish Again.
It's established to me that Timhas been seeing the operator
since he's been a child.
Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
Technically, so has
Alex, if we look at it in that
sense.
Speaker 5 (01:28:58):
Why, I don't know.
I feel like the plot, just why.
I don't know.
I feel like it's the plot, justit.
It doesn't have, like itdoesn't make much sense to me,
because you have this, thisthing that started off following
alex and, I guess, tim, fromwhen they were children, but it
doesn't explain really why, oruh, uh how, why they were chosen
(01:29:19):
, what this thing even is like.
Like this whole thing seemslike it's kind of like a disease
.
They keep calling it like adisease or a sickness, but like
again, why?
What is the goal of this being?
Why is it just affecting thesepeople?
I know it's the whole thingwith, like it's this forest
deity, but why is itspecifically targeting these
guys and not the locals thathave been in this town for
(01:29:42):
decades?
Why is it just these peoplethat's being affected?
There's no reason why it'sthese people, other than they
have tapes to be fair to.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
To be fair, that
isn't that how any story is,
though.
Like why these people like, whyare they?
Speaker 5 (01:29:56):
a lot of the stories
have some sort of explanation
like oh, he's the chosen one.
Or like he picked up the cursedamulet, or something like this
is just a youtube series on someboard game here's the thing,
though.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
I would prefer they
leave it like that rather than
make some attempt to likeshoehorn in an explanation for
shit that doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 3 (01:30:20):
I don't mind that
either.
I agree, I think.
I think that's why I like it somuch because it feels like I
don't even know how to describeit, but it just feels like it's
a go-to series that I couldwatch over and over again.
I don't really need theexplanation of why.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
I think it's fine to
leave some things a mystery.
Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
Yeah, no, I agree.
Agree, I think you're right.
I like it the way it is.
Honestly, I had those questionswhile I was watching it.
I had the who's paying for thefucking hotel rooms, like why
these guys like what is theoperator, even like what's their
goal?
Like we didn't get any of thatanswered.
But I think that's why I'm kindof drawn to it a little bit.
Like we didn't get any of thatanswered.
But I think that's why I'm kindof drawn to it a little bit,
(01:31:06):
because we didn't get thatanswer.
Speaker 5 (01:31:08):
I like that if the
entity like I, I don't know.
I like that to an extent, butat a certain point, when you
spend four years on a series,it's got you.
You have to give me some sortof goal for this entity that
that's fine for like a movie orlike a short series, but this is
for four years in the making.
(01:31:29):
You have the story's not doneyet exactly.
It's still fucking going 15years later.
You have to give me some sortof reason for this.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
All but people are
still, people are still talking
about it, though, if you, ifthey were up in a nice little
fucking package.
Maybe it'd be over.
Maybe people wouldn't talkabout it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Mike wants a spin off
where it's just like the POV
from fucking the operator andhe's just like it's like Mike
this is a personality trait withMike, though Mike wants an
explanation for everything.
Speaker 2 (01:32:03):
Because I've run into
this with trying personality
trait with Mike, though Mikewants an explanation for
everything.
Because I've run into this withtrying to write with you
because I'm like this happensand you're like, but why?
Speaker 5 (01:32:08):
and I'm like it
doesn't matter you said it best
plot sometimes, sometimes, yeah, plot, but like, sometimes you
don't have to tell a story, like, like I said, like with with a
short, with a movie or somethinglike that, you can leave things
open-ended, like the end offucking inception or some shit.
You don't know.
Is he in a dream, is he alive, doesn't matter.
It was a cool two-hour run.
(01:32:30):
This is a nine-hour series.
That's fair enough.
If you don't fair enough.
You're gonna waste that much ofmy time and then not tell me if
you're gonna take nine and ahalf hours of my life away and
not give me a satisfyingconclusion, go fuck yourself and
so many shows, though there'sso many shows that have shitty
ass endings, and they're almostevery show and they go.
(01:32:51):
And how long do those shows gofor like fucking 15 years.
Hey, marvel hordes, you're like15 years old now, you're.
No, it's at that point wherethey they put off giving us a
conclusion for so long.
They're gonna give us one nowand it's not going to where they
they put off giving us aconclusion for so long.
They're going to give us onenow and it's not going to be
satisfying.
That's the problem.
They've waited too long to giveyou a conclusion with that logic
, basically, what you're sayingis that there's no, there's no
(01:33:13):
chance of you being satisfiedanymore, exactly they will, they
, they, they cannot end it now, because if they do end it and
give you that conclusion, no onewill be satisfied because it's
been too long.
It's like the ending of scrubsit was great and then they
brought it back and it sucked.
It's the ending of future bringit back again.
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Did you see that?
Speaker 5 (01:33:31):
yeah it's it was
great they brought it back.
It sucked like you can't go toolong.
It's the ending.
Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
I haven't even
watched it yet.
Speaker 5 (01:33:38):
I was afraid to like
you, you gotta, you gotta end it
.
You gotta end it at a certainpoint, otherwise it's just not
gonna you can't give people timeto come to terms with what?
Happened.
Is this not gonna hit?
Well, it's not gonna hit.
Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
I will say there's a
lot of different theories out
there.
I don't know how many of them.
If you looked at any of them, Ikind of tried to stay away from
them because I didn't want tolike be swayed and like how I
felt while we were doing thistalpa theory I do, I do too.
I was like, holy shit, that's,that's good.
Speaker 5 (01:34:08):
Yeah, I like that um,
the last thing I want to talk
about with this.
Again, I mentioned a brief youbefore the locations, chef kiss
yeah they got so many goodlocations, so many.
I don't know how they fuckingdid it.
They must have gorilla filmedthis shit, because there's no
way they got permits for halfthis shit that they're filming
in.
Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
But I mean shit in
the forest.
They don't.
I, I don't know where they arelocated.
Speaker 5 (01:34:33):
You don't like, man,
those, some of those things that
they, they like some of thoseshots and like like finding
those abandoned, like ruins inthe forest and then having like
random buildings and stuff likethe, the in the forest, the
actual forest, that wholeabandoned college campus which
I'm assuming, I'm assuming maynot actually be abandoned, might
just be going through likerenovations or something.
Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
Um, no, it's just
Alabama.
They don't fund education.
This is just what they had todeal with.
Speaker 5 (01:34:59):
That's fair, the one
thing that I did want to bring
up with.
The last thing I want to bringI'm sorry that I thought was
like the best shot in thisentire series was um.
It was in jason's portion soprobably everyone checked out.
Um.
There was a point where um timwas like trying to run away from
(01:35:20):
uh, uh alex.
Alex shot him and tim collapsesover and he falls through the
floor down to like the first thethe last level.
They they probably did someediting trickery to make it look
like he fell through.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
That shit looked
great that's kind of what I'm
wondering is, I'm gonna have togo back and watch them, but they
had to have because he couldnot have fallen through there
like.
I'm wondering, though if, likesome of those buildings, the
upper levels of the building areone building, but they actually
edited it clever, cleverly in away so that, like the basement
sections are actually adifferent building I had that
(01:35:56):
thought too, but like it's verypossible he falls through, looks
up through the hole.
Speaker 5 (01:36:01):
You see, alex, look
down fucking operators right
there.
Fuck it, it's such a good shot, such a good fucking shot.
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
Yeah, I don't know
how they pulled it off again
editing trickery, I'm sure, butit's so seamless so some of the
lighting they did too in some ofthe shots works really really
well with how they like, wantedyou to see, whatever it was they
were trying to have.
Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
You see, I think
that's part of the magic of this
too, is how it looks so shitty, but it's actually done really
well.
Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
I can also
confidently say that if I was in
that situation with those guysand the operator was possessing
us, I can confidently say I canwhoop every single dude's ass
there Alex scrawny assmotherfucker.
Jay scrawny ass, motherfucker.
Jay scrawny ass, motherfucker.
Speaker 3 (01:36:46):
Tim might actually
put up a fight tim looks like he
could kick my ass or likebrian's, the only one of them
that looks like he would reallypack a punch, but brian and tim.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
Like I'm a small dude
, I'm gonna make sure they got
rid of him early.
Speaker 5 (01:36:58):
Yeah, yeah, right I'm
a tiny boy 6'4" 280.
6'4" 280.
I'm a small boy.
I'm 5'5".
I weigh like a buck thirty.
I'm tiny.
I could manhandle Alex dog.
I would whoop his ass If hisass came at me saying I gotta
(01:37:18):
kill you.
You're infected.
His ass is going down.
Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
Not anymore, because
you get to see what he looks
like now that he's like 40 inthe new nowadays yes, with the
new trailers yeah he looks likehe's got dad's strength now yeah
, I got dad's strength.
Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
Now it'll be a match,
dad against dad uh, while I was
watching through the first timeI watched through the videos
fucking I was sitting there withlissa and, like they, I don't
remember what was happeningexactly.
I think it was, uh, I think itwas when tim was trying to
convince jay to take his pillsand like go see the therapist or
the doctor or whatever theyhave like such a bad case of
(01:37:55):
like tough guy syndrome, likethey just like they all do like
I won't take the help from mymale friend.
I don't need no one's help.
Like that kind of attitude andlike they just like wouldn't
talk to each other.
They just wouldn't like.
There's so many situations Iwas like man, so they just would
have talked like get the policeinvolved.
Speaker 5 (01:38:14):
Dog like yeah, I'm a
huge, I'm gonna go and say fuck
the police, yeah yeah, I'm gonnago and say fuck the police, but
like, at a certain point you'veseen a man murder another man,
give the police these tapes.
It's out of your hands, doglike.
Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
I'm not gonna lie,
that is a trope.
I see in a lot of stuff, andthat's not just YouTube videos.
Speaker 5 (01:38:30):
I feel like we've
brought that up a lot yeah, I
want to make an analog horrorwhere shit hits the fan and our
pro tech is like nah and givesit to the police and it just
ends there was one where theytried that and the police what
was that?
Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
one where the police
didn't believe them and then and
then, yeah, the baby cop.
One where where they put babycop on the case and then he
talked, and then he talked tolike australian or whatever
private detective who was justtotally useless yeah, that's
true.
Speaker 5 (01:38:59):
That's very true.
I don't know, at a certainpoint, get the police involved.
Dog, you have footage of a mankilling another man.
Yeah, you have footage of a mankilling another man, stalking
you.
Being ease, you have all thison tape.
Give it to the police man.
I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 3 (01:39:18):
I don't know, a giant
man named.
Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
The Operator is
possessing all my friends.
Maybe go arrest them, book themLou.
Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
Get them Lou.
Speaker 5 (01:39:27):
But, yeah.
Loved it.
I would watch it again, notbinge it, though this you
mentioned it before If this waslike if this was hot and fresh,
came out week by week, I wouldlove this, binging all nine
hours of this In like a weekmiserable.
Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
That's.
That's the problem that we have, though like we, we have to for
our line of work here, sosometimes you get that like that
binge sickness from a, a seriesthat you watch.
You're just like fuck, there'sa point.
Speaker 5 (01:39:55):
There's a point where
I got to like episode like 65
66 and I was like, oh, thank god, there's only like 87, I'm
almost done.
And then I checked the playlistbecause it had like the fucking
r shit in there and there'slike another 40 videos.
I about texted you like I'm notcoming into this episode.
I was so close to being likeI'm done with this.
(01:40:16):
It fucking.
This was like two days ago.
I was, I was, I Like I.
I met my breaking point.
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
It was a slog for
sure.
There's just yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
There's just so much
for it.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
There's just too much
filler.
Speaker 5 (01:40:31):
Yeah, I'm, I met my
breaking point two years ago.
I think I found that pointbefore on an earlier.
I think it was ash vlogs beforethey did it to me too.
But I, I met my breaking point.
I don't want to be here again.
Speaker 3 (01:40:46):
I never have I felt
so numb.
I need someone.
What someone needed to do wasbe like okay, they need to give
it the one piece treatment, where they like write out all
the episodes you need to watchthat like really matter, and
then just there's a playlistwith just that in it where's
fucking Topher Grace to cut outall the filter?
Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
I was gonna say I bet
, if somebody was real dedicated
to it they could take that megacut and they could go through
and make like a cinematic cut ofit.
That would be like two hourslong maybe.
Speaker 5 (01:41:11):
Oh yeah definitely,
because most of the art shit is
just ooh, edgy, scary becauseit's, you know, 2010, so it's,
it is creepy at that time, butnow it's just like, yeah, we've
seen this a million times, it iscreepy at that time.
Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
But now it's just
like yeah, we've seen this a
million times, I guess.
If that's the end note there, Iwill say again go to their
website, grampocom, buy theirshit, buy their merch, buy their
comics, support these guys.
I really want to buy the DVDs.
I'm not going to lie, lie, butseason two is sold out and that
makes me sad.
Speaker 5 (01:41:44):

you're done with that, um, exit
out of that tab, open a new tab.
Type in duallycom buy our merchsubscribe to our shit.
Speaker 2 (01:41:53):
You know that when
you get done by mike's next day,
yeah, when you get done withthat.
Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
Open a private tab
and just go you're gonna be
going, I'm not calling off.
Speaker 5 (01:42:06):
I'm not doing a call
off this time or sign off or
whatever.
