This episode is a recording of a lecture on the 11th Airborne Division in World War II given by show host, historian and author Jeremy C. Holm in Roanoke, Virginia in 2021. Jeremy's grandmother lives in Roanoke and the lecture was given for her community to honor her efforts to preserve the history of the Angels from World War II through today.

In this lecture you'll learn fascinating details about the origins of the 11th Airborne Division, with a focus on the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment, "The Band of Brothers of the Pacific". Follow the 11th Airborne through their stateside training to New Guinea in the Pacific Theater before the Angels first saw combat on Leyte during the winter of 1944. The 11th Airborne then participated in the liberation of Luzon during 1945 before they became the first full Allied unit to land on Japan in August of 1945.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
