I got, I got enoughing tolose Josh Grayson this morning six ten on
WPAP A hot one on tap today. But we are used to it by
now, learn how to live inthe heat and get by day to day
now. Somebody said it the bigbuck this morning, I was filling I'm
(00:26):
getting gas and get coffee, andsomebody said And I never turned around and
said anything. I just you knowhow you overhear a conversation between two two
guns and the gentleman said, well, this was a good trial run.
We dodged a bullet and way toosoon to say that. Oh man,
you gotta keep watching. It's nota trial run. And and folks aren't
ticket it's serious, I mean locallyright here seven, he said, with
(00:47):
win Dixie out of one. Yeah, I mean I'm seeing a lot of
people ticket serious rightly so here inthe eight five. Oh but you can't.
You can't just let lift your guarddown quite yet. We've got a
ways to go. And this thingat Bobble and Wobble, they could could.
We do see some of those bandsstarting to come into the Gulf this
morning, and they're expecting rapid intensification. So I gu said, we're not
too worried yet, But we aregoing to keep a close eye on it
(01:07):
and just be prepared. That's allwe can do. But you know,
guys, we all wrote out HurricaneMichael. We were all gun shy,
if you will. So I wasup till two thirty watching this thing.
I think we all have been keepingon it. If it goes to the
left eating hey, here we are. I wasn't up to two thirty,
but we haven't been watching it.I'mkay you that. I'll promise you that
promise. Yeah, rightly. Sothere's a lot of people that are very
(01:29):
gun shy about especially kids too.You have to have to deal with this.
And we went to pick up Lillyjust the other day and Jan said
it's gonna be thirty maybe forty fiveminutes. And I said, what do
you mean The bell just just rang. Aren't you picking her up? She
said, they're on lockdown. Itwas a severe thunderstorm that come through.
Yeah, and I had to wait. I mean, so even our thunderstorms
have become have you noticed they hadmore intensely more intense The reason why we
talk about those Colord generators all thetime. You gotta get one aways,
(01:53):
be prepared. And playing in placeand then other than that, and you
know it's in God's tense. That'sall we can do. Oh yeah,
when she starts free two. Ifwe ever we ever get sister over there
up up on the podium, she'lllet it fly, all right. Twelve

Center. You were Timesaver Traffic onninety two Doctor Shane and Tessa's I heard
Country minutes one two five. Well, Dolly Parton turned down having tea with
Princess Kate Middleton while in London.I saw that. So who in the
(02:35):
world other than Dolly do you knowthat can snub the royals? I mean,
Dolly pulled it off very nicely, very nice. Well, I don't
think she snubbed them, she justsimply didn't have time to do it.
She does say. She does saythat she hopes to accept it someday,
and she says that she thought itwas very sweet and nice of her to
invite me, and that would begreat She didn't say the reason, but
she didn't say it was personal. It was just business. What do you
(02:57):
go? What do you go?She wasn't going to promote her rock album,
so I had to say, no, got a promoter rock album.
It wouldn't you go? Would youhave? Of course? Okay, I
think most folks would. That's alife experience. Yeah, just just for
the pictures. We would be soimproper though, yeah, I know I
wouldn't be. And the CBS showsuper Fan returns tomorrow night with an episode
(03:20):
centered around a Little Big Town andthey're fans. They are the sweetest people,
by the way, every single oneof that band is so much fun
and just down to earth. Butthis is a competition to see who is
indeed Little Big Town's biggest super Fan. It will include a performance. Last
week, they already featured Shania Twainand the Kelsey Valerini is going to be
an upcoming episode of that, likeour good friends General. I don't know
(03:44):
if you guys saw him in Walmartand Arkansas trying to find his album.
He made a video of it andit went viral, but pretty funny.
He took time to leave his concertto go to Walmart, just like you
were our test would do and lookedfor his album and it was a no
go the first time, but thesecond time he visited he had success.
Good, he pounded good. That'sgood for jelly roll. Love me some
jelly roll good stuff, Doctor ShaneTess cousin Dye. We're coming back on
(04:08):
WPAP Panama City, All eyes ona day. It's time for Tess's five
random facts on ninety two five upeight s. She's skinning them down five
to one. Brought to you byJerry Piblos and Jerry Pilos Electric. In
times just like these, we remindyou over and over about those cold word
generators and any type of electrical problemscommercial or residentialist. Jerry Pibos Electric give
(04:30):
them a call today and they bringyou five random facts every day on WPAP
number five. Approximately two hundred peoplehave died since nineteen eighty eight because of
airborne collisions between airplanes and birds. That's just scary. Gives me something else
to worry about. Bird strikes costthree hundred million dollars of damage each year
to aircraft. Whoa up for thebirds? Now? I'm going to buy
(04:51):
bird insurance Number four Venus is thebrightest of all the planets, and it
can be so bright that on amove less night, the planet can actually
cast shadows on Earth. That isreally cool. Uh huh, show it's
on Earth. You know, there'slike a there's like a supermoon going on
right now. It's like a hugesupermoon going on right now, and it's
(05:11):
it's a blue moon at the sametime. And just Superman, it's a
blue Supermo's going to have an extraeffect on the storm search from this hurricane.
That's great. So the color MOVwas discovered by accident a chemist.
A chemist saw a purplish magenta color. He was trying to make a medicine
to treat malaria. This is backin eighteen fifty six, and realized that
(05:32):
the resulting product would make a greatdie and so he started using it and
marketing it as a new color existing. Do you have it? Pick up
in math? Long Island in NewYork legally considered a peninsula, not an
island. Okay, it's not thatlong either, very short. It's a
(05:55):
short. It's a short island, don't you agree? Yeah, yeah,
it's a lot short. I meanit's not long. Have you ever used
the defrost setting on your microwave everyday you haven't well, there there is
a defrost setting that exists on yourmicrowave and you can use it too,
defrost frozen foods so you can cookit and prepare it. But it actually
doesn't use a different wattage or typeof energy than regular microwaving. It actually
(06:15):
just alternates between one hundred percent powerand zero percent power. Oh so it
just gives you like like first,Yeah, I never son a different power.
It doesn't cook it exact defrosted destrosted, very good tests. Five random
facts here on WPAP. Let's takea short break. Take us to the
break here, guys, what radioseglasses cool? Crank it up, crank

Staff new Ronds WJHG News Channel seven, Chris, quite early for you after
well, we all turned in lastnight, watched you on channel seven ten
thirty last at ten o'clock. Howyou doing bound them up? Hey,
I'm up early. I got twokids to get through car line today,
(07:41):
so it's all good. Here areyour pal tell us what the storm is
looking like, the track change whatsoever? Maybe a slight jog to the west
just a little bit. But theone thing I know, I was just
looking at now where the center ofthe storm is located, and flocated just
east of eighty five west launch Okay. Eighty five west longitude runs directly through
(08:03):
appalachical So that gives me fair certaintythat you know, the storm isn't going
to miraculously start going to say northwest, Okay, It's already moving due north.
So the only question is the timingof when does it start the north
northeast and eventually northeast track Okay,And so anytime it starts doing that,
(08:24):
that starts taking it farther away fromAppalachicola, which I think is going to
be the farthest wet possibility for thestorm. Okay, so we do know
that turns going to begin to occur, probably by later tonight, and so
at that point we'll start to feela little bit better as far as at
least, I mean, you're stillgoing to see effects in Franklin County,
(08:46):
but minimizing those as much as wecan. Right now, I feel certain
that we'll get tropical storm conditions inFranklin County, we will get storm surge,
and we're also going to end upseeing severe weather. It's not going
to be very high, but Ithink and you're going to obviously get rainfall,
but especially Franklin County Gulf Counting toa lesser extent, they have a
(09:07):
possible about one to three feet ofstorm surge and the wind threat is going
to be a fair amount lower. But the rest of our area we're probably
talking maybe one to two to maybethree inches of rainfall at the very most,
and as you go west towards destined, very little rainfall will be possible.
So right now, everything kind ofgoing according to plam. The models
(09:30):
were touch west of what they werethis morning, but you're only or what
they were last night, but notsignificantly much. And so the hurricane Center's
track hasn't really changed a whole lot. It has kind of the cone over
Dog Island and then over towards likeCedar Key areas kind of where the cone
is. So you're looking. Youknow, that doesn't mean you can't have
(09:50):
impact outside of the cone, butthat would that kind of gives you a
fair amount of confidence. Kind ofwhat I was saying about the eighty five
west line and how it has tostart turning northeast. And so you know
Dog Island on the east. Now, if it goes towards the Dog Island,
you know that's going to bring moreimpacts into Appalachicola in that area.
(10:11):
But if it goes a little bitfarther east and it starts to minimize those
a little bit. So Cousin hewas mentioning this earlier, Chris, with
the elevation of Appalachicola, flooding isa concern, right, Yeah, storm
starts flooding because you know, essentiallywhat's happening is as the storm is making
(10:31):
its approach, the initial approach,it's going to start bringing in a strong
easterly wind, Okay, and sothat's going to start pushing that water into
right along the coastline, so itpushes it through the passes over there and
kind of gets it in behind theisland. And so a lot of times
the things where John it actually floodsfrom behind, and what happens is they
(10:52):
push the storm sort of pushes thatwater in. But guess what you're also
doing. The Appalachicola River and allthose breaks in every thing are continuing to
bring water down and so there's nowherefor it to go but up. And
so that's why you get that stormsurge flooding, and that's why they issued
the evacuation orders for Saint George Island. We'll be in touch with you this
(11:15):
afternoon today, overnight tonight. Isthis one of those deals where you'll just
be sleeping at the station for acouple of hours overnight. That remains to
be seen. It's a distinct possibility. I've been playing with that in my
mind this morning. I was gonnagive it a little bit more time because
we've got to figure out a wayto make sure that we have everything covered
overnight. You know, landfall isexpected to be probably around six or seven
(11:39):
am tomorrow morning, and so we'llhave to have to watch it carefully for
sure. But the good news isbecause I live, you know, in
Panama City Beach and everything, I'mnot having to cross any bridges if we're
not going to have any bridge closuresor anything like that like Bay County.
So it is one of those thingsthat I need to get some sleep.
So I sleep with the state orcan I go home? And is it
(12:01):
worth the drive? When you callin book hotel for your family, I
get nervous. I'm gone. Ye, much of my wife's chagrine. She's
going to be sleeping next to mein bed. Probably there you go,
There you go, Chris, thankyou for everything. Fal We'll stay in

We are storms likely with the scatteredstorms all over northwest Florida. The high

winds will be picking up and stormswill become more likely overnight Tuesday into Wednesday

a little more serious to the eastof us, over in Franklin County where
they're calling for evacuations. Yeah, you're on the Air Force sister station over

(24:12):
a good news story of the dayto make you smile. Has it today?
A good news story. We needa good news This is some cowboys
stuff right here, and it's abouta teenager who did something very brave.
His name's Austin Spies, and hewas heading home on Interstate eighty four when
he saw a cattle truck on fireon the road ahead. And Austin happened
to be trailering his own horse homefrom the rodeo where he'd just been competing
(24:34):
in some cattle roping events. Andhe's been doing it since he was old
enough to ride. So he said, the whole front of the trailer was
on fire and cows were on theinterstate. He said, I had a
horse and nowhere to be, soI may as well help. So he
got his horse out of the trailerand rode a bare back and rushed to
help kids take control of the situation. So he got thirty five head of
(24:55):
cattle off the truck and away fromthe fire, using his horse to her
checked on the drive, then cleareda dozen more cows off the road and
herds them all safely away from thehighway. Sixteen years old. We need
more stories like Yes, that's amodern day John Wayne right there. Yeah,
he recognized at a special ceremony wherehe was honored from the sheriff presented
(25:15):
the team with a certificate of recognitionfor his brave act. But yeah,
just jumped on his horse bare backand heard it all those cattle on the
interstatement that was almost a roadside steakhouse, almost almost almost almost Take a sure,
we're right back to the country afterthis Here on WPAP, Panama City,
Welcome back to the show, DoctorShane test Cussin d Here on w
(25:37):
PAP. Let's talk about something wecan all agree on. What does you
two agree with me in us beingone accord that we are all married?
Yes, ye, we are allhappily married. Yep, and he takes
work right absolutely. Let's talk aboutthe things that make it last. How
many years now? You and BrentUtterly ten coming up in May marry ten.
(26:00):
You know, grew together for severalyears before then, coming up on
fifteen. I'm knocking on twenty. It won't be too long at all.
Here ways to stay married for overthirty years? Now, you guys,
think about your own relationship, whatworks in the relationship, and if you
can give insight to anybody else that'sworking on a relationship to baby, what
makes it click thirty years. Whatmakes it click? They say, mind
(26:23):
your manners, say please and thankyou. If you're a sweetheart or your
husband whoever gives you coffee in themorning. What little things, thank you,
honey, little things like that.Take care of yourself, eat right,
exercise and also assume the best chancesare here. She meant to do
the right thing. Always always givethem the yeah, yeah, the benefit
(26:44):
of the benefit of the down.If you want to be a team,
keep your fights in the locker roomto see. I agree with that.
Yeah, now I don't. Idon't agree with the airing dirty laundry other
friends like the world that won't findout my husband's foster me or Facebook,
Yeah, it's crazy and people puton there. I agree. I agree.
Be spouses first, then be parents, and your children are supposed to
come third in the relationship. Andwhen it comes to the relationship, not
(27:10):
as far as like your priorities going. You have to make sure that you
know they married you. What aboutthis take turns with Netflix? You take
turns? No, we generally disagreeon. What about restaurant choices? Yeah,
yeah, we like the same places. Or if I tell him I'm
craving something he's generally going okay, okay, hell same, I'll be in.
(27:30):
Yeah, you'll bend if she wantsto go. Communication in respector just
really really huge things to like alwaysyou know, talk about it, communicate
about it. Something I never I'venever even thought about. This is a
good point. Go out for breakfast, even if it's just for a one
dollar doughnut. It's important to carveout time to talk together, to be
together. And that's hard to dowith where we sit every morning because we're
(27:52):
working during the breakfast hours. Butyou can very easily say, you know,
take some time, put it asideand go to lunch, treat your
sweetheart and get out and talk.Yeah what is uh? Jin tells me
on the oh sweethearts? I lovebeing sweethearts. Yeah, because you get
into a rut, yeah every day, you know, rut with the kids,
and you just take time to slowdown and be sweethearts. Again.
(28:14):
I've always heard a date if youcan, like date married people need to
date more. We have trouble doingthat was just because the kids are so
babysitters are really expensive. But Imean just a case in point. Last
Friday morning, I was having kindof an off morning. Was it feeling
real great and uh and out ofnowhere. And we don't normally go to
lunch very often, but it wasFriday, and Brett called me up after
he knew that I was done withwork, and he said, hey,
