Mig (00:11):
Welcome back to the
Drifting on Arroyo podcast.
This is Mig, this is Lano, andthat's it.
People, it's a light show today.
Short show, short show, well, maybe short show Depends on how
it goes, how it flows.
But Rick is missing, surprisingly, not due to work.
He is working, but not at work.
Lano (00:33):
Right, he has his annual.
I guess it's third time, thirdannual.
Mig (00:38):
He missed last year.
Oh, he did, yeah, because lastyear his house was a mess so he
didn't have it last year AnnualHalloween bash or party, costume
party.
Should be pretty good.
I got a little preview of itthis weekend Cause he went
Ensenada.
Oh you housed it?
(00:59):
Yeah, so I housed at the dogsor took care of the dogs.
That dumbass dude I get there, cause he left, I guess, like
early Saturday morning.
Lano (01:10):
Right.
Mig (01:11):
So I didn't have to get
there until like maybe like
Saturday afternoon or so.
So I get there.
I'm opening the freaking door, dude, and his door like it opens
up and there's like the hallwayand like you can see, like the
the back window where it goesout to the Backyard.
Dude and his door like it opensup and there's like the hallway
and like you can see, like theback window where it goes out to
the backyard.
Lano (01:29):
Right the new window you
put in.
You know how it goes.
Mig (01:32):
Right, you can see the
kitchen counter and everything.
Well, at the end of the damnhall, dude, he has set up a
freaking Michael Myers, likefull Michael Myers standing
there, dude, with like fullMichael Myers standing there
doing like a bloody machete inone hand and a head in the other
.
And that's the first step thing.
I see, dude.
As soon as I walk to the doorI'm like holy shit, dude.
Lano (01:56):
In the shadows, or did he
have like a light shading?
Mig (01:58):
No, there were no lights or
anything.
I was in the shadows, you know.
It was like so it's kind ofdark in there and everything
already.
And, man, that scared the shitout of me.
Dude, I was like what the f?
Man I was like I'm like thisfreaking dude is like he could
have given me a warning butthat's where it's gonna be at,
or that's just like uh no, he'sjust getting stuff ready where
(02:20):
does he keep all that stuff?
Lano (02:20):
uh?
Mig (02:24):
bins and everything, oh man
.
He has shelving all over theplace.
But this year I think he'spretty cool because he's setting
up a little maze on theentrance.
So as you get there and youwalk in through the driveway
he's going to have a little maze.
So he's going to probably setsome stuff up right there.
(02:47):
So the driveway is going to belike the interest to go to the
back, yeah, and then like whatis he using cardboard?
Or how is he setting up likejust stuff, like no, he his
shelving that he has.
Uh-huh, he like set up kind oflike aisles, like you gotta
snake around it, oh wow.
So you'll probably covereverything up and like around
each corner, put something youknow kind of like, like not
scary looks like, yeah, it'sgood.
Looks like it's gonna be coolman.
Lano (03:05):
Let's see if we have
people Running around like
Popping out, like with chainsaws.
Mig (03:08):
I mean cause that first
year that he did it.
It's like he.
I thought he knocked it out thepark too, with the decorations
and everything.
I thought he did a great job.
Lano (03:17):
And then Normally your
sister helps out too, right?
Mig (03:22):
For Christmas, halloween
not so much oh he does a
Christmas party too.
Lano (03:27):
Oh, he does the no, just
his Christmas decorations.
But then he does the SecretSanta too, right, yeah?
Or the Turkey Fry.
Mig (03:36):
But um yeah, so he's Busy
doing that, so that's why he's
not here.
Lano (03:44):
And G couldn't make it
because he's out sick, so just
the two of us just the two of usum nice and cozy.
So we're a little I mean I'm alittle fool right now.
Mig (03:57):
We just ate I like gordas
some pretty damn good pastrami,
man pastrami.
Lano (04:05):
Um, I think it's just
called johnny's, so it's not
johnny's well the way theydistinguish them.
Mig (04:11):
It's johnny's in culver
city, which we already reviewed
but that's officially johnny'spastrami that's johnny's
pastrami with the ie, yeah, inculver city, and that's the one
that we already reviewed.
We did video on it andeverything it's up on the
Instagram.
Lano (04:25):
And on our list that was
our number one pastrami spot,
yeah.
Mig (04:28):
So today we did another
famous Johnny's that's spelled
with a Y and this Johnny's isknown as Johnny's on Adams Right
, and so it's a lot closer.
It's near the Jefferson Parkarea and the thing about this
place is they do the pastramitwo different styles.
It's a lot closer, it's nearthe Jefferson Park area and the
thing about this place is theydo the pastrami two different
(04:49):
styles.
So they do it what they call aCali style or French dip style,
which is what we're used to,like a thin sliced pastrami on a
French roll, you know nice andjuicy and everything.
And they do the traditionaldeli style, which is like the
hand cut With some kind of likea dressing and like a coleslaw
(05:13):
in it, and both are really, really good yeah on the menu it
says pastrami sandwich and thenit says Reuben or I don't know
what makes it a Reuben, but itsays half or full on tartine
marble rye with mustard.
Lano (05:33):
You can get it with a
coleslaw or Reuben style.
Mig (05:35):
Well, the Reuben is the
coleslaw with the Russian
dressing and, I think, cheese.
Is that the one we?
Lano (05:44):
got, yeah, yeah.
So first the first one, thethinly sliced one.
I mean I'm glad you ate it,that's the way I ate it first.
Mig (05:51):
Yeah.
Lano (05:52):
I'm glad you ate it first.
Mig (05:53):
I mean it's, it's really
good.
But to say that one's betterthan the other, I don't.
I still think they're.
The flavors are too different.
The two Johnnies, the twoJohnnies, the two Johnnies.
Yeah, because this one is alittle more savory, like it has
(06:16):
a little more depth of flavor.
That's right.
Lano (06:19):
It had like more flavor.
Mig (06:20):
It has something, yeah,
something.
Lano (06:22):
It was like a rub,
something was on there,
something, yeah, I didn't knowwhat it was.
Mig (06:26):
But Johnny's in Culver City
is also really good because it
doesn't have, you know, thatmuch savoriness, but it has a
different type of flavor, youknow, and then when you put that
hot mustard on it, it's likethat just knocks it out the park
.
Lano (06:44):
Yeah this one was missing
the hot mustard.
Even my wife made that comment.
Mig (06:49):
You know.
But then their traditional deli, pastrami here on Adams Is
really good Because it tasteslike you're almost eating like A
brisket sandwich.
Lano (07:02):
That's the thick cut.
That's the thick cut.
Mig (07:04):
Yeah, that's the thick cut
one and that one's good.
You know, cause Like forsomeone that likes um Barbecue,
you know, and I love gettinglike a burnt end or like a crust
and everything.
That's what this Traditional orReuben style pastrami has.
You know, it has that um smokyflavor, which I love.
(07:29):
It's not too much, you know,it's not overpowering, but it's
there.
You can definitely taste it.
Lano (07:38):
And these are like quarter
inch slices.
Mig (07:41):
I mean, it's a thick cut.
Lano (07:42):
It's a thick hand cut but
it's like it melts in your mouth
.
It's not.
It's not hard, you can't I meanyou just easily cut it with
your teeth.
It's not like you're peeling ortugging at it, just like cuts
easily, like it's which a lot ofplaces.
Mig (07:56):
That's why a lot of places.
The pastrami is not goodbecause I don't know where
they're getting it from, butlike a thin slice pasti.
It's like if they don't sliceit thin enough or if it's not a
good quality piece of meat.
It's like it's kind of toughand chewy.
So I know what you're talkingabout.
Lano (08:13):
Because you go to the hat
like you're going to be needing
a toothpick after trying to getit out between your teeth, like
the ligaments or whatever, andit'll be more salty.
But this was just like a like.
Mig (08:25):
It seems like it's, like
you said, like a brisket, like
it's been sitting there forhours.
It's like it's not salty but itjust has like this flavor.
You know, it's like it's not asalty flavor, but it's just like
there's something there, dudethey.
It's hard to describe unlessyou have it and and this, we did
get delivery.
Lano (08:38):
So it was, um, I don't
know, let's say 45 minutes old
or an hour old, because it'sabout, um, I mean with traffic.
It's about an hour away, 45minutes yeah, probably with
traffic.
I mean, the guy picked it up atlike a five o'clock rush hour so
it took a while to get here.
The franchise were all, likeyou know, moist from the steam
and stuff, but um, for it beinglike, you know, like sitting
(09:00):
there for an hour like it wasstill good, but I mean having it
fresh, this probably makes itbetter, I mean yeah, I mean we
probably definitely have to gotrade and get it like fresh, you
know oh I was especially thefries man, because the fries it
comes with the sauce is likedipping sauce.
Mig (09:19):
It's kind of like almost
like um, like a garlic aioli or
yeah, like if you go to zancowchicken, you know they give you
that garlic spread.
Oh, yeah, like if you go toZancow Chicken, you know they
give you that garlic spread.
Oh, right, right, right it'slike really dangerous man
because if you eat too much ofit you get like that garlic
breath the whole day.
But that's what it reminds meof.
Lano (09:35):
Yeah, so the fries it says
hand-cut fries, sea salt, black
pepper, side of garlic sauce.
Yeah, I mean I kind of give ita an edge over johnny's with an
eye culver city, johnny's, just, and and the way I eat it, like
(09:55):
I mean I'm with my wife, so it'stwo people, so like I, I get a
half of each one, because I feellike you got to try both of
them.
Yeah, but um, just, it had likea different flavor, like a
flavor that I wasn't expectingand I want to say like the
bread's good quality, it is thecut's good.
I mean it's a Everything'sreally good.
Mig (10:10):
It's a really good sandwich
.
It's definitely worth goingthere for Right.
Lano (10:15):
And it's on Adams, like
maybe across Adams and Crenshaw,
like maybe a block away fromCrenshaw.
So if you're out in that area,it's um jefferson park area,
definitely try it.
But I'm looking at the menuwhich, like I don't know, like
if I'll ever try this stuff, butthey got a cheese burger, the
johnny burger, which is like apastrami burger basically.
So you got a patty and thenthey got, oh, but I wonder what
(10:38):
kind of pastrami I know, is it athick cut or the?
yeah and then you got the crispychicken sandwich and then a
barbecue brisket sandwich.
Like you said, it kind oftastes like barbecue.
So looking at these pictureshopefully we got another camera
set up so hopefully you guys cansee this so this kind of looks
like chopped pastrami kind of.
I'm guessing that's the burger,right?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mig (10:59):
It kind of looks like cubed
.
Oh yeah, it's going to be thehand-cut one then like cubed.
Lano (11:05):
Oh yeah, it's gonna be.
It's gonna be the hand-cut onethen.
And then, um, this chicken.
I mean, this looks like um,what do you call it?
The, the bread like.
The, the asian dishes.
What's called like?
Mig (11:11):
um uh, what do you uh
tempura?
Lano (11:14):
like it's like kind of
like a tempura kind of crust
kind of.
And then they have this dessertand then look at this chicken
sandwich.
Wow, like I want to try thechicken sandwich, but like mean,
do you not get the pastramiwhen you get there?
And then they Well, I mean youalready tried the pastrami.
So yeah.
And then this is the sandwich.
(11:35):
We had the thick, cut, stackedside by side, two slices, which
is good.
And then these are thesandwiches you got the regular
burger, the pastrami burger, which is the johnny, then you
got the chicken sandwich, but,um, it looks like, it looks all
like high quality stuff, simple, like simple burgers, dude.
And then, um, so the burger andsandwiches, and then, um, they
(12:02):
have a hot dog, which, um, what, what is that merguez?
How do you say that?
Mig (12:09):
I don't know.
Lano (12:10):
How do you say merguez?
I don't know what that is, butit's like a spicy dog.
Chicken tenders for the kids.
We saw a picture of that Matzoball soup, I'm guessing all this
stuff's really good.
And then we had the frenchfries and I had the potato salad
, which was good too.
And then they got soft-serves'mores for the dessert oh,
(12:32):
that's what that was.
And then a banana cream pie.
Mig (12:34):
Ooh, that must be good.
Lano (12:37):
And then they got some
house sodas too, ginger and a
sage, citrus, thai basil, tamarindo and mint.
So I mean everything looks likehigh quality ingredients.
So this is Johnny's on Adams.
It was good, it was good people.
(12:59):
That's that s'more thing.
Huh, yeah, that looks prettygood.
So, out of all the days, rickymissed out, but that was one of
the reasons why I ordered it,because I just had to order for
two, not for for three.
But, um, I mean we might haveto make a trip out there take
some pictures.
Yeah, have ricky, be the do anofficial review the dec
(13:22):
tiebreaker, the tiebreaker twoout of the three.
Mig (13:25):
You know, that's true,
because he hasn't been the
biggest fan of Pastrami, right, you know, but he did really like
Johnny's in Cover City, so hewould be the decider, you know,
because for someone that's not afan to like it, you know.
Lano (13:46):
And then we got to take
him here to see what he thinks
of this one and then, like youtake your dad, take your brother
, because I know you took yourdad out to the culver city
johnny's and then, if you'reworking with your brother, if
you guys are out there in thatarea working on a truck, try it,
try it out oh, talking about mybrother, you know I've been
trying to figure out who wouldorder the half meatball, half
sausage from Falerio's when itwas him.
Mig (14:10):
So you would split it with
him.
No, well, that's how he wouldorder it, him and his ex well,
his girlfriend at the time.
You know, he was in high schoolor after high school, but he's
the one that would order it likethat.
So, school, but he's the onethat would order it like that.
So you asked him when you heardit on the show.
No, I asked him, it was buggingme.
It's like I thought for sure itwas you guys that ordered it
(14:31):
like that and we always wouldget it.
But no, it was him, he's theone that would order it like
that.
Lano (14:37):
So it was the meatball
sandwich and sausage sandwich.
Mig (14:40):
Yeah, it's half meatball
half sausage.
Lano (14:42):
But you could order it
like that.
You're not cutting the sandwichin half, no.
Mig (14:46):
Hmm, I haven't looked at
that.
You could get sausage in withthe meatball.
Lano (14:49):
I don't know, I'll have to
try that, because I do like a
sausage sandwich.
Mig (14:55):
You know, I don't know if
people still order them like
that or not.
You'd probably have to ask ifthey could do it, because they
might not, I don't know.
But back then that's how hewould order it.
I bet he hasn't been there inyears.
No, he hasn't.
When I brought it up he waslike, oh shit man.
I was like, no, I wantFalerials.
Because he remembered how goodit was that sandwich, uh-huh.
(15:16):
So it's like I got them, that'sI mean working on trucks
throughout the city.
Lano (15:20):
you guys get to try out
different stuff.
That's why I like you alwayslike introduce me to new spots,
Even even on his side of town.
Mig (15:28):
Yeah, sometimes we try.
Lano (15:35):
I don't know if you heard
in the news, but Tesla had a
main event showcasing their newcars, so this is what I have on
the screen.
They're calling this theircyber cab and this is going to
be like a driverless taxi.
Mig (15:52):
I heard about that.
Lano (15:54):
So supposedly it's going
to be under $30,000.
The doors open like this, withno steering wheel, and just
using cameras Nope, nope.
And then they had this van Nope, now you're kind of answering
my question now Nope.
Would, you ever.
Mig (16:11):
Nope, don't trust it.
Lano (16:13):
Would you trust?
Mig (16:14):
getting in a car like that.
No, no.
Lano (16:17):
With no wheels or steering
wheel.
Mig (16:18):
Don't trust it 50 years
down the line, after they've
been on the road for 30 yearswith no problems or minimal
problems, then maybe I'll trustit Right now coming out.
Nope, so this is supposed tocome?
Lano (16:32):
out late, 26, before 2027,
.
He said Nope, you won't catchme in one of those death traps.
Mig (16:40):
Now, um what did impress me
from Tesla, though?
He said Nope, you won't catchme in one of those death traps.
Now, um what did impress mefrom Tesla, though, is SpaceX.
Oh, you saw that.
Did you see that rocket?
Lano (16:46):
Yeah, I saw that how they
captured it.
Mig (16:48):
They call it like
chopsticks.
Dude, that shit was impressive, man, to see that rocket booster
return back to the launch padRight and just like land
perfectly.
Turned back to the launch padand just like land perfectly.
That was amazing, dude.
When I was watching that italmost didn't even look real.
It's like you're sitting therewatching and it looks like it
was like some kind of like aclaymation thing or something
(17:14):
you know like it didn't lookreal.
Lano (17:25):
So Tesla's been making
these rockets that land by
themselves, either at theplatform where it takes off or
in the ocean on a ship.
But this new rocket, this big, rocket that they're working on
it to go to the moon or to go toMars.
They caught the rocket theycall it chopsticks, but it's
this big tower that has thesearms that swing together and
just kind of catch it while itfloats in front of it and, um,
they actually pulled it off overthe weekend.
Yeah, it shows prettyincredible if you see the the
(17:47):
video, but it just so.
Supposedly they're just gonnacatch it and then, like you know
, restack the other rocket ontop or refill it and put the
other one and catch it and then, like, reload them, and
apparently they they do thisbecause, um, normally rockets,
they they go up in space andthen they just, like you know,
crash in the ocean and that'swhy they're so expensive.
But this they're gonna besaving like billions and
(18:08):
billions dollars.
Mig (18:09):
If they like, reuse them
that's the whole thing is that
they're getting repeatperformance out of them, you
know, instead of just losingthem and having to build new
ones for the next mission but,um, yeah, this footage was
pretty, pretty amazing.
Lano (18:23):
I don't know if it's for
our generation, is I mean?
People are saying it's likelanded on the moon, but I mean,
this was pretty impressive Ithought it was damn impressive,
man that's and you knew about it.
You just heard about the video.
Mig (18:34):
I saw it on the news.
I saw the news that he did thatand I saw that I was like wow,
dude, I was really thinking back.
I was like holy shit, dude.
Lano (18:43):
And I tried to wake up
early but there was like I woke
up at seven but it was likeseven o'clock texas time, so I
was like a few hours late.
Mig (18:48):
So I saw, I saw the I had
no idea what's going on.
Lano (18:51):
No, I've been, we've been
waiting for it because he's been
testing it.
And then, um, they're trying toland it at first, but the
landings were coming in too hard, and so this was their new idea
.
So if they could do this, youstill don't think they could
make that car drive itself.
Nope, that's interesting.
Mig (19:13):
Well, you know why?
Because there's not a thousandother damn rockets trying to
land at the same spot.
Lano (19:17):
True, true, true.
That's why, when you gothundreds of thousands of other
idiots on the road not payingattention or whatever, you know,
your, your cameras are onlygonna react so fast, or you know
yeah, and the fact that theyuse cameras like, um, like you
know, there could be a glare onthe camera, there could be
(19:38):
something, you know, that blindsit, and and at camera there
could be something that blindsit.
And at first they were havingtrouble with white semis that
cut across, because there wouldbe a glare On the trailer and
stuff.
There could be a glitch In thesoftware, so no no, thank you,
but it's just crazy that they'reactually Even trying to do it.
(20:00):
And I like this like thedreamer mentality, like let's
dream it up and let's try to getit to work, or let's try doing
it.
Mig (20:09):
Like you know what I do
want to try In Vegas, that loop
that he has.
Lano (20:16):
The tunnel Uh-huh.
Yeah, that I would try, andthat's the thing.
Like he built that tunnel-huh,yeah, that that I will try.
And that's the thing like hebuilt that tunnel.
And right now, like peopledrive you through that tunnel
but they can put the car driveitself because it's just like,
uh, the same track over and overagain, like you'll know, like
well, isn't that what the wholepoint?
is doesn't it have itself?
Well, not right now.
Right now, someone drives youlike an uber driver drives you
through it.
Oh really, but um, but now thatthey have the cars able to do
(20:39):
it, they're going to starthaving the cars go through it
automatically.
Mig (20:41):
I thought I was doing that
already no, not, not yet.
Lano (20:44):
I mean it's all like baby
steps, so the cars are not doing
it yet, but like you said that, like there's no cross traffic,
yeah there's no cross traffic, you know, there's no other
variables and it just drivesthrough the tunnel.
So that's the whole idea, and hewants to put tunnels like that
everywhere.
What I'm waiting for is, likethe cars to talk to each other,
but it'll be so hard becausethere's different brands where,
like, if my car wants to make alane change, it tells the other
(21:07):
car next to it, like eitherspeed up or slow down, you know.
So then everything like workssmoothly.
Like you know, like we weretalking the other day about
jumping on freeways and, likeyou know, people don't follow
like the zipper rule one afteranother, but if cars are able to
talk to each other and thenlike you don't know, oh, it's
like, this guy goes first, thisguy goes second.
Mig (21:26):
Then and then what if
people figure out how to program
their car and they make youdrive like an asshole the way
they do more?
Lano (21:31):
aggressive.
Yeah, and that's the thing thetesla does has like, um, like
that self-driving because youcould test.
It's called supervisedself-driving where, like, it
gives you a warning, like, like,it'll drive itself, but it
gives you a warning when you, when you, when you turn it on,
that, um, the car might make thewrong decision at the
absolutely wrong time.
(21:54):
So that's comforting to know itsays that.
So, just like, be ready, it'sall.
Pay attention, the car make maymake the wrong decision at the
absolutely like worst time orwrong time, so like just be
ready to grab the wheel or stepon the brake or whatever it's
like when the car is barrelingtowards that uh bus full of
orphans and nuns it might notstop because I, we have tried it
(22:19):
, but in like Palm Springs orlike traffic Palm Springs you
got like Big old streets andthen like it's less traffic.
Mig (22:26):
So We've tested it Like on
vacation Believe me, dude,
nobody would want that To workmore than me.
It's like Cause there's timeswhen I'm driving around and I'm
just so tired, I'm so sleepy, and like, if I'm just so tired,
I'm so sleepy, and if I couldjust close my eyes for like five
minutes, not have to worryabout rear-ending someone, that
(22:47):
would be so nice.
Lano (22:50):
I'm looking to see if I
can find the exact words, but
it's pretty like when you readit, it's oh, like, do I really
want to do this or not?
Like it's kind of scary.
Mig (23:02):
Sometimes it's like it's
cool because it's in the
inception.
Right now it's in the verybeginning, the baby stages, like
you said, but I think we'redecades away from it being
perfected.
Lano (23:15):
Yeah.
Mig (23:16):
And it being like to where
people are gonna feel Completely
comfortable.
You know and like, like yousaid, you know, it's like the
cards communicate with eachother Let them know where
they're at, or but who's gonnaget by, or whatever, you know, I
mean.
Lano (23:34):
I I like that like they're
setting like the bar out there.
Mig (23:40):
Yeah, I mean that's the,
that's the, that's like the bar
out there.
Yeah, I mean that's like thegoal.
Lano (23:43):
Yeah, the goal.
Mig (23:43):
That's like the end game
that they're heading for, you
know, and cool.
More power to Tesla, you know, for figuring this shit out, you
know.
More power to Elon for doing it, you know.
But right now you ask me to getin.
One of those things, no.
Lano (23:59):
Because, like, if you
don't set the goal of the bar,
no one's going to try it, noone's going to With this event.
He's like the future shouldlook like the future.
That's why his cars are likethe Cybertruck they look space
age.
Mig (24:20):
It's like go back to all
the movies and shows that we
used to watch in the 80s, evenin the 90s dude, everything
that's set in the future.
You go back and you look at theyears that they chose for the
future In a lot of those moviesand we've already either passed
them or we're in them right now.
Right yeah, it's like look at,look at Back to the Future, the
second movie.
They went 30 years into thefuture, from 85.
Lano (24:42):
So it was like 2005?
That was like 2015.
Mig (24:45):
Yeah, and look at 2015 came
and went.
We're already like nine yearspast, that there's not even any
semblance of what theyenvisioned in the movie.
I think there's barely thosehover hoverboards, which is not
even that, I mean you know, Imean not even that, like you
(25:05):
have, like the one wheel and allthat stuff like it's what we
call hoverboards.
Now, like the toys are, they'renot hoverboards, they're just
like, yeah, I mean, and then, and then the thing is too.
It's like by now we wereexpected to be living like the
jetsons right Right.
You know it's like whereeverything's.
You know, no, the cars are notlike regular cars.
(25:26):
You know we're all speedingaround in the air.
You know, throwing the dogoutside on a treadmill that
floats to walk up.
You know robot maids namedRosie, To walk them you know
robot maids named Rosie.
Lano (25:42):
Now, at that same Tesla
event, I don't know.
They're working on this robot.
Did you see pictures of therobot?
Mig (25:46):
No.
Lano (25:48):
So he's making this robot
and it's supposed to be for like
labor, like it's going to serveyou drinks at the party.
It's going to, like go to thecar, pick up the groceries, pick
up your packages.
That shit looks too much likeUltron dude.
At the event, they had itactually making drinks for you
(26:09):
at the bar.
So this was an actual prototype.
They had different ones at thebar making drinks.
They had videos.
They show it dancing and stuff.
Just tricks.
Um, like you could play likerock, paper scissors, but like
just taking out your trash cans, like into the yard and watering
your plants.
It's supposed to do all the theboring stuff yeah that you
(26:30):
don't like to do.
But he says, um, he's gonna haveit under 30, under 30 000, and
he says it's about again, twoyears away from selling it.
Mig (26:41):
That's crazy.
Lano (26:43):
But again, like I mean you
get it, but like I mean I
figure this robot would bepassed down through generations.
But, like you said, there'salways hackers.
Hackers always like figure outways to.
You can have, like a bankaccount that people have, like
you know, all the encryptionenrolled or whatever, but they
still always like you always getthose data breaches where they
(27:04):
steal your addresses orpasswords and stuff.
So it's always like a fightagainst hackers.
So I mean if this thing canwater your grass, then I mean he
could put like fingers aroundyour neck.
You know what I mean Exactly.
Mig (27:18):
That's what I'm saying,
dude.
Lano (27:22):
But I mean it's just
interesting, I mean it's
incredible Innovative stuff, butTo fully trust it.
Like to clean your house.
Mig (27:33):
Vacuum.
Lano (27:35):
I'll have to show you
these videos after.
If you play it, it'll becopyright To clean the house and
everything, but it's like forpeople to interact with it and
it's just, I don't know, dude,it's weird man even if he, like
he pushes you or something likeyou know it's crazy, but I mean
(27:57):
this if Ricky gets it, he couldput it in his maze, have it jump
out at you like you're in theback, or have it pass out the
candy it's gonna be like raw andany.
He moves pretty like um fluid.
It was pretty flat I'll showyou the videos later but pretty
(28:19):
crazy.
Mig (28:20):
It's crazy, it's amazing,
but nah, not for me I don't
trust it.
Lano (28:31):
You said 30 years For all
this stuff.
How I mean.
Growing up, my dad was sayingwhen you grow up, cars are going
to fly.
That didn't happen.
Like I'm already like olderthan him when he told me that,
so he's already let me down onthat.
But like, is this in mydaughter's generation?
(28:55):
Now that you have someone likethis?
Mig (28:58):
I meank he could be like
the da vinci of our generation,
like someone that's, whateverthe guy, leo, whatever he could
be, the one that inspires yourdaughter, you know, and she
becomes even smarter and granderthan him.
But you have to have the dreams.
Lano (29:19):
I mean the rocket.
He caught the rocket, but howmany times did that rocket crash
before Trying it over and overand over again?
You need someone to keeppushing.
Mig (29:28):
Well, that's the thing.
It's like, they say BenFranklin invented the light bulb
, right.
Lano (29:34):
Right.
Mig (29:35):
But they say that at first
he learned something like 1,000
thousand or two thousand wayshow not to make it right before
he actually made the one thatworks like the right filament
that lasted, and so I mean it'snot, it's not easy, dude, it's
not gonna be right away, it'snot gonna be instant.
You know it's gonna.
It's gonna take a lot of work,man.
(29:56):
It's got a lot of research, alot of you know what they say
research and development, a lotof trial and testing, I mean,
and it's not all because we wentto the moon in 69 60, was it 69
?
Lano (30:10):
yeah, 69 right yeah, all
around there in the late 60s.
Yeah, I'm not I'm not too goodwith that, and then uh, we got
there and then like I don't knowhow many times we went up there
.
I mean, I just know the onetime, but maybe we did like
three or four missions afterthat.
I don't know.
Yeah, I times we went up there.
I just know of the one time, but maybe we did three or four
missions after that.
I don't know?
Mig (30:22):
Yeah, I actually stepped
foot on there, I think twice.
Lano (30:26):
Twice with people.
Mig (30:27):
Two or three times.
Lano (30:28):
But then after that, the
program I don't know if it was
funding or what with thepresidents or something but we
didn't go back and then thespace shuttle never made it out
there.
Those were just low, low orbitstuff.
But like, yeah, the spaceshuttle, like you know, had its
issues so that they retired andthen we're catching rides with
(30:48):
the russians but now, like, having this american company,
spacex is, is bringing us back.
We're like no other country'sdoing it right now.
Russia's not doing it.
You know, the asian countries.
No one else is doing landingrockets at all, yeah, so I'm
glad that we're back in theforefront.
And then, um, now that, um, Ithink we still have that space
force right, that branch of thegovernment you know, I'm not
(31:09):
sure, dude, that was uh, thatwas trump's thing.
I know it was trump's about him,so I'm not I'm not sure if it's
there or not if they dismountedright away as soon as they got
him out but I know, like thatwas part of that initiative to
like put stuff like I meanputting technology back out
there and stuff, instead of usbuying it, yeah, but what else?
Mig (31:31):
Pretty crazy stuff, dude
what else have current news.
Lano (31:35):
I guess the Dodgers made
it to the second round, but we
had our last game was pretty bad.
When's the next game?
Well, I mean give and bad.
Mig (31:42):
When's the next game?
Well, I mean give and take.
You know.
First game, they completelywhooped them.
Second game, they were gettingwhooped themselves, but they
fought back a little.
So but it's just game by game, dude, I mean, every day's a new
day, so have you been catchingany of the?
Lano (31:59):
I've been missing it, but
the flybys, with the planes?
Mig (32:03):
No, actually, when I was
watching the first game Against
the Mets and I was Sunday Iheard the flyby.
If I heard it already, thenit's gone.
Lano (32:17):
Once you hear it, it's
already past you, because the
sound is delayed.
Mig (32:21):
I was going to run out to
see if I could see it, but if I
already heard it, it's gone.
Lano (32:26):
Yeah, we heard it.
I tried to get it off the kids.
I'm grabbing them like it'sready, Come on, run outside.
Mig (32:30):
It was a stealth right.
Lano (32:32):
I don't know what it was
and I was hoping we would catch
it turning around, but it justturned up the other direction.
Mig (32:43):
It didn't, it didn't come
back towards our way.
I remember that first year, dude, when those stealth bombers
were um were first made, and itwas like an opening day, or it
was like fourth of july, it wassomething but they come every.
For new year's, for the rosebowl they come every stadium or
for new year's yeah it wassomething like that, and those
styles came by, came by dude, more than one.
Lano (33:02):
No, it was the one, the
one, uh-huh, uh-huh.
Mig (33:03):
Yeah and dude, that thing
was incredible man.
Yeah, because you see it coming, you don't hear anything.
Lano (33:11):
I think it's every year
for the Rose Parade or every
other year, but it's alwaysbecause, just like there's
nothing like it in the sky, no,I mean, it's coming towards you
and you see it, you don't hear apeep.
It's like gliding yeah dude.
Mig (33:26):
It's like it passes with a
whisper, but then, once it
passes, you dude the rumble thatyou hear.
Man Shit, it's amazing.
Lano (33:45):
I think I've told this on
the air.
But I remember Danny's dad, like we knew it was coming
because we saw it on the RoseParade.
So when it comes on the RoseParade it normally comes for the
Rose Bowl game in the afternoon.
So Danny's dad was out ofaction for a few years so he
came back and then he wasworking on a car.
He was under the car so, um, weknew it was coming.
(34:06):
Like you know, the band is likethey're doing the star spangled
banner, so we start runningoutside to prep for it.
And this is the time danny wasliving in highland park up on
the hill.
So, like we're gonna have a goodview, which he was like um,
like pretty close to the rosebowl at the time, or the area,
and and we're telling him likecome on, look outside, look
outside.
So as soon as he pulled outfrom under the car he got
(34:28):
startled and like fell backagainst the car and he's like
Omni, omni, omni.
And I didn't know what thatmeant, but Danny says in Spanish
that means UFO or somethinglike that.
Mig (34:41):
I guess I've never heard
that in Spanish he said
something like that.
Lano (34:44):
He's like Omni.
And then he's like, oh, he waslaughing because he's like, no,
it's a plane, but like, ifyou've never seen it before, you
would think it's like aspaceship.
It's pretty crazy, that's funny.
Mig (34:59):
I mean, it does look like
it funny.
Lano (35:01):
I mean it does look like
it.
So if you ever get a chance tosee it, um, and we're we're
fortunate, because I guess itcomes from edwards or air force
base or it comes from wyoming orsomething, but since it's like
a california built plane, italways, it always makes its trip
out here, yeah, but uh, I thinkthat's it.
I think it's going to be ashort show today, unless you got
(35:22):
more stuff to Nah, just Somebullshit that I heard today
about.
Mig (35:28):
Well, you don't care.
Lano (35:29):
Well, tell it, tell it.
Mig (35:31):
You're driving your Tesla.
Lano (35:32):
But you're telling me,
something made you feel old
today.
Mig (35:37):
Oh, that's something else.
Yeah, well, no, I mean, Ishowed my age, not today.
This is a story I've beenwanting to tell.
It happened like a month ago,but it's just like.
It just goes to show you knowthat how time passes, you know,
and like today's youth, you knowit's like they don't know any
(36:01):
like references to the past oranything.
Because I'm trying to rememberthe exact thing.
I was at the parts store theparts place where I go to.
You know a bunch of young dudesworking the counter and they
were bringing me out some partsand I was going to make a
(36:22):
reference.
Oh okay, I got parts.
And I was gonna make areference.
Oh okay, I got it.
It was a christmas storyreference oh so when um and none
of them had ever heard, evenheard, of the movie the
christmas story yeah, like threeguys up in front counter well,
I thought that was a classic, that all of them in their 20s
dude.
None of them have heard of it.
Lano (36:41):
That's a shame, yeah,
Because I mean I'm putting it in
the rotation for my daughters.
That's a shame.
Mig (36:45):
Yeah, so that's why I was
like when they were bringing me
out, it was actually a radiator, because I was going to do a
radiator on a rig.
And they were bringing me outthis box and on the box it said
fragile.
So when they were bringing itout I was going to say oh, it's
fragile, it must be Italian.
But they were all like whatit's like?
(37:07):
What the hell are you talkingabout?
I'm like, come on, guys, it'slike you guys haven't seen the
Christmas story.
I'm like what's that?
Lano (37:14):
Oh my goodness dudes.
No one caught the reference.
Mig (37:18):
Yeah.
Lano (37:19):
I was like, come on, man,
and these are.
I mean, I don't want to like.
Mig (37:25):
They're 20-somethings Like.
Lano (37:26):
Americans or not?
Mig (37:27):
I mean no, yeah, yeah yeah,
no, they're kids that were
raised here, you know, and I'mjust like what's up with today's
youth dude?
Lano (37:34):
They should play that like
that's why I tell them.
Mig (37:47):
I think they do.
But, like you know, miracle on24.
So I started, I starteddescribing I started describing
the movie to them, they're likeoh, that sounds pretty funny.
I'm like dude every year thatshit is out for like 24 hours
for two days straight, like ontbs or or tnt or usa or one of
those man but because of thelike, no one watches like
antenna tv anymore.
Lano (38:02):
I don't think very few
that's true, they stream
everything and streaming likenot everybody has the same
services, or?
Even cable, like the same tbslike you have, or or even like
watch that channel because youknow sometimes you got these
channels and then some of themget like buried, like you never
click on or whatever.
They're not your favorites oryour frequency.
But um, that's just a shame,because that's a movie that
(38:25):
everybody should watch.
Mig (38:26):
Yeah, and then, like the
older dudes in the back, they
heard me talking about it.
They're like oh yeah I was likedid you ever see the second one
?
You know the sequel?
I'm like yeah, I thought thesequel was pretty decent but
never one.
Lano (38:35):
Yeah, my wife like I'm
like, yeah, I thought the sequel
was pretty good.
Mig (38:38):
It was worth watching they
like both the guys.
Yeah, we never watched itbecause you know I thought it
wasn't going to be any good oranything like that.
It's worth checking it out.
Yeah, I mean it was definitelygood.
It's all the original guys andeverything.
Lano (38:51):
The newer one.
There's like a knockoff sequelthat, like different actors,
more recent sequel than um oh,yeah, it's worth it.
Mig (38:59):
It's worth it.
Yeah, that's that's right.
There was, yeah, but um youknow, dude I know that sucks
before you know it, man, yourdaughters are gonna be
graduating high school, dude, Imean my daughter, like she's
only two, but like go by fast, dude, cherish it.
We'll catch y'all drifters nextweek, hopefully with a better
(39:27):
show, a full show, full houseand some good Halloween party
stories Alright, this weekend'sRick's annual Halloween party.
So if you got the invite, showup suckaa and check out my
costume.
Lano (39:44):
It's a pretty good.
The Instagram pictures will beon the Instagram, yeah.
Mig (39:50):
