Remember when you could recite every word to "Freaks of the Industry" but couldn't recall what you went to the store for? That strange quirk of memory serves as just one fascinating tangent in our latest episode, where we explore how certain songs become permanently etched in our neural pathways despite decades of dormancy.

Between bites of fresh Baja seafood and navigating California's latest regulatory labyrinth, we dive into the realities of running a diesel mechanic business during transitional times. California's new emissions requirements for commercial trucks have created a perfect storm—mechanics scrambling for certification, fleet owners rushing to comply, and a testing process that requires multiple cold starts and sophisticated diagnostic equipment. While challenging, these changes have opened new revenue streams for those willing to invest in the necessary technology.

The conversation takes a nostalgic turn as we reminisce about cross-border adventures, complete with mouthwatering seafood platters and two-for-one Palomas that remind us sometimes the best escapes are the closest ones. Through listener call-ins, we debate when artists should gracefully bow out versus continue creating, whether stroller parking at theme parks has gotten out of hand, and if the rumored Young Guns 3 can possibly capture the magic that made the originals resonate with Generation X.

As we navigate our busy schedules—night shifts, late workdays, and family commitments—we're reminded that this podcast serves as our excuse to reconnect regularly, to share stories, and to keep the conversation going, however sporadically. If you're enjoying the drift, drop us a message, share your thoughts, and join us next time as we continue our journey toward the elusive 200-episode milestone.

Mig (00:11):

This is Mig, this is Lano, andno RK67.
We're bringing you what we can, people.
It's a complete show, but atleast it's a show.

Lano (00:27):
And Rick said this is probably his last week being out
working nights.

Mig (00:33):
Yeah, it's been a pretty rough month for me and Rick
because Rick's been workingnights and I've been getting off
of work really late, likegetting home past 9 o'clock.
So it's been kind of rough.
And then Lionel's had a couplethings come up.
You know family wise, soNothing emergency right Like

(00:55):
nothing bad.

Lano (00:55):
No, no, nothing bad.
Yeah, yeah, just stuff thatcome up.

Mig (00:58):
You know, so Just busy.

Lano (01:01):
Just busy, normal stuff.

Mig (01:02):
You know, like everybody you know, so Try to squeeze this
show in whenever we can.

Lano (01:09):
I was looking at the stats yeah, and 2025,.
We've only done six episodes.

Mig (01:16):
That's rough dude.

Lano (01:18):
And we're, like you know, June's going to be next week, so
like that's the six months, sowe're doing about an episode a
month, average almost.
Is that good or bad, I mean?

Mig (01:27):
Bad, I mean.
I mean Cause the thing.
The thing is the episode AfterMark's Appearance.
Mark the Shark.

Lano (01:39):
Was that the one?
Well, not his episode.
The one after that one, yeah, the one after that.

Mig (01:42):
When I came back Right you know, since we're leaving so
much time gap between shows Isaw on YouTube that that episode
had the most views that we'veever had of any of the YouTube
episodes that we've put up, andI was like, wow, I'm like is
that what we need to do?

(02:03):
But what do we talk?

Lano (02:05):
about I don't know.
Dude, I'm like, is that what weneed to do?
But what do we talk about?

Mig (02:07):
I don't know dude, I don't know, honestly, I don't know.

Lano (02:11):
I think we're just like going off the cuff or just I
don't know Well, because, like Isent you an update on the stats
, like I was like, oh man, likewe blew up this week.

Mig (02:20):
Yeah, on the downloads, just on the podcast downloads,
that's just the audio only.
Yeah, that's not includingYouTube.

Lano (02:25):
YouTube's a whole separate account and all that stuff.
That's what I told you aboutthe YouTube.
I told you, dude?

Mig (02:29):
did you see the YouTube numbers Right?
Because I went into the YouTubechannel and I went to look at
all the episodes that arerecorded on YouTube so far and
that one episode was the onethat had the most views, like by
a lot.
I was like dude, it's like, whyis this one episode?

(02:51):
It's like, why did so manypeople watch it?
Or why was it watched so manytimes?
Last I saw it was like not thatI'm complaining, you know.

Lano (02:58):
Thank you, everybody out there who watched it last I saw
is that 150, which is a bignumber for us.
It's big right big number.

Mig (03:05):
Yeah, thanks, guys.
I mean glad we were able tocatch your attention at least a
little bit.
I mean, even if you justwatched it for a few minutes or
whatever you know, but at leastyou know their numbers 150 um,
views, I guess, on youtube, thanks a lot and um, and then we
had a jump in audio too, theaudio podcast version.

Lano (03:26):
So I don't know, I mean it's tricky Something, something
I mean I don't know If it'sbecause we're leaving them
Wanting more or you know, wejust leave them anxious and
waiting.

Mig (03:38):
We're not doing it on purpose.
I promise you that we're notdoing it on purpose.
You know it's no like Gimmickor Marketing scheme or Any
stupid crap like that.
You know we're not.
We're not that clever, we'renot that smart Right To be doing
stuff like that.

Lano (03:55):
So and this is, don't be thinking that, our time to we
catch up with each other, likeyou know, weekly or monthly,
like we're busy Before thepodcast, I don't know.
This would be every once in awhile I would hit up Rick or you
.

Mig (04:10):
Yeah.

Lano (04:10):
Like you know, something would happen, or a holiday, or
something like that.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah.

Lano (04:15):
But this show gives us a reason to you know.
Come together or talk everyweekend, yeah, and catch up.

Mig (04:22):
When was the last show that we did?
What was the date?
It said May 8th, so we missedMother's Day, right?

Lano (04:31):
Yeah, because I think that's the 10th.
Mexican Mother's Day is the10th, and then I think the US
was like on the 11th.

Mig (04:37):
Let me wish a late Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers
out there, lano, especially toyour mother, our number one day
one fan, right, right, ourbiggest and greatest fan that we
have of the show.
Happy mother's day.
Sorry we're so late with thatgreetings, you know, but glad

(04:58):
you guys are there for us, youknow, supporting glad to have
you there and, um, justhopefully we can keep on doing
this and keep it rolling andkeep you guys entertained.

Lano (05:10):
I guess the next one we missed was Memorial Day.
I mean, we just finished thatup, wrapped it up.

Mig (05:14):
We just passed Memorial Day right now.
We just ended Memorial Day thispast weekend.

Lano (05:19):
How was your weekend it?

Mig (05:21):
was good you didn't have to work right Monday.
No, we were going to work, butturns out you know, my older
brother had to do some stuff, sowe ended up just not working.

Lano (05:33):
We were going to work, though.
We were going to work To catchup, yeah, yeah.

Mig (05:36):
Because, dude, we're so buried right now, man, Well,
you've been working late.
Don't know if a lot of youdrifters out there know or not,
but, um, I'm a diesel mechanic.
Me and my, my older brother,we're diesel mechanics and we

(05:58):
have our own um repair business.
But the thing is we don't havea shop Like a regular shop.
What we do is we do On-siteservice and we don't really like
have a Like.
I want to say like, like we'reopen, kind of to like the public
.
You know it's like we, we haveour accounts that we're happy

(06:21):
with.
You know, and we have our Setamount of work that that keeps
us very, very busy, and we don'ttake on new customers.
But it's the two of you guys,it's because it's just two of us
exactly, and if we do try totake on new customers, then
we're gonna neglect the onesthat we have right now and we
don't want to do that so yeahand so the thing is right now we

(06:47):
we do take advantage of thedaylight, you know that there is
more day to extend our day andget more, try to get more
working, which is advantageous, you know, and it is working out.
but, um, the thing that'shappening now is California
being California, with all theirlovely regulations and you know

(07:12):
issues they decided to startdoing a smog testing on diesel
trucks, on all the heavy dutyand like all the medium duty and
heavy duty.
Is that that's a new thing?
It's relatively new.
Like january 1st or yeah, sonow every, and actually on the
trucks, like because you know onon your car or cars in general,

(07:35):
it's done every two years, right, a smog check every other
well on these trucks.
They're requiring them to bedone twice a year, and they're
they're moving to pass.
Um, isn't this supposed to beclean though?
Or I mean right now, thesystems that they have in place,
that you know, that's reallycomplicating things, and, um,

(08:03):
it's been a real pain to figureout how to work on these systems
and everything, but we kind ofwe already got a really good
grasp on it, you know, and assoon as we get like a really
good grasp on it, I know they'regoing to change the technology
and move on to something else, and we're going to have to
relearn something else, you know, which is a real pain, but for

(08:24):
right now, you, you know, wehave a really good idea of how
to work on all this stuff andhow to troubleshoot it, and you
know how to get these thingsrunning right.

Lano (08:34):
So, you're talking about um fixing it to pass, or are you
doing the smog check on thosevehicles or um well, yeah, yeah,
I mean because just in general, like if a check engine light
comes on.
That means something's wrong, right Like an air filter.

Mig (08:50):
Well, yeah, you know, because, like you say, a check
engine light comes on in yourcar and say it's an O2 sensor,
you know it's not going to besomething that's going to make
your car die out or stall or notrun right or anything, but it
is something that's going toaffect, like the fuel mileage,
or you know it's gonna.

(09:12):
It's gonna affect it in one wayor another, you know, and it
will affect it the efficiency, right the efficiency, there you
go.
That's what I'm looking atthat's the word I'm looking for
the efficiency.
But it will also not allow thevehicle to pass a smog check
Right.
So that's where all theequipment right now is at, the

(09:32):
heavy equipment.
So that's where my brother gotcertified in that and we had to
buy, you know, a computer.
We had to buy a laptop, we haveto subscribe to software and
everything.
That's how they get you all thatstuff, stuff, yeah so all that
stuff is expensive and it'smoney, you know.
But on that flip side, it'slike we have all these vehicles

(09:54):
now that we need to do it.
You know, because all of ourcustomers all of a sudden called
us because they're like, hey,you know, it's like we need the
smog test and we need the smogtest done.
You know, because they're notgoing to give us our tags.
And everybody Called us at thesame time Because, of course,
that's the way the stupid Stateworks.
They don't give anybody anywarning, they don't give them

(10:18):
any time to do anything, theydon't give them any prep time or
nothing.
They just hit everybody At thesame time and get it done or pay
penalties.

Lano (10:30):
It wasn't like the people who expiration was up this month
, it's just everybody had tolike get it done, like like the
whole fleets or whatever yeah,it's like everybody had to get
it done, like by the end ofmarch, you know.

Mig (10:45):
So we were like scrambling through, going with everybody
and you know, trying to get.
You know, half of the fleetpassed and the other half had
check engine lights on and howto get stuff changed out.
And you know, once you, onceyou change out a part, you know
that you need to change, youneed to change out.
Then you retest it and then youget the, you clear the codes.

(11:07):
But then it has to.
It has to Reset the monitorsand everything.
So it needs at least 5 coldstarts.
So what that means is that ithas to cycle 5 times when it
starts up, it runs totemperature, then it cools down,
you know.
So, basically, like you say,you run it for a day, then you

(11:31):
come in for the day.
It sits overnight, then youcome in for the next day so
basically running for a weekwith no issues.
That way you know the truck isrunning without issues and then
it'll pass.

Lano (11:45):
That seems like a pain in the butt.

Mig (11:46):
Yeah, then that's all we've been experiencing all year long
and it's like with all of ourcustomers doing it's like all
this catching up and all thisrepair work here.
I mean it's great for us, dude, don't get me wrong.
It's like we're.
We're pretty much like rakingit in, dude.

Lano (12:06):
But I mean in dude, but I mean we're paying for it, but
it's like it's a lot of work,man, it's a lot of people like
different, is this not?
Oh, every job is different.
I'm coming for the smartchecking.

Mig (12:10):
Every job is different dude , every it's.
I mean, you know you're, you'retalking about um so every job
is like a troubleshoot.
You have to figure out what'scausing yeah it's not like
majority of the other problemsare coming out to be um, um
devices.
They go on the turbo chargersthat are called actuators or
sensors that are called uh knocksensors, nitrogen oxide sensors

(12:32):
, so but sometimes it is theactual turbos, you know just, or
just a bunch of other stuff.
You know that can go wrong andbut yeah, you know, I mean you
gotta you can't just go connectthe computer and go by what it
says the code is.
You know it's like you gottatroubleshoot it.

(12:52):
You gotta understand why it'striggering that code you know,
you can't just see the code andsay, okay, I'm gonna change that
part.
No man, you gotta know whywhat's causing it?

Lano (13:03):
what's causing it or is it ?
Or is it the actual part that's?

Mig (13:07):
failing, and if it's not the actual part that's failing,
what's causing it to go off?

Lano (13:13):
you know so it's now, after you're done with it, like
it's done, or they just have totake it to like some certified
like no, we're.

Mig (13:23):
We're the ones that are certified dude.
Yeah, it's us Once it's done.

Lano (13:26):
You put a stamp or a seal on it or whatever.

Mig (13:29):
That's why we have the laptop and we're registered with
the state.
So the testing Is done througha portal that's with the state.
So it gets sent Directly toCARB, which is the California
Air Resources.
Board and it gets sent directlyto CARB, which is the
California Air Resources Board, and it gets sent directly to
them, so everything is handledby them.

Lano (13:51):
Oh.

Mig (13:52):
Yeah.

Lano (13:52):
So you have to like, like, stick something in the tailpipe
and all that stuff To check thequality or the richness of the
fuel, or whatever.

Mig (14:01):
Only if the truck's really old, like if it's older than
2011, I believe.
But everything newer Cause eventhe cars now.
The cars now, when you're doingthem smog, I forget what the
cut off year is For For smoggingthem now, but the cars now they

(14:23):
just plug them in.
They don't do that tailpipeanymore, they're just you plug
in the computer yeah, it's beena while, and right there, it
just.
It says everything.
The monitors tell you everythingit's like it's no more in the
tailpipe, you know that littlething to read the gases or
anything is that like um toprevent, like?

Lano (14:43):
I remember small checks like they would stick that thing
in another car yeah anothertailpipe to fool it, or
something it's way moredifficult now.

Mig (14:50):
That's why the the guys that do it um illegally, they
really charge you.
Now, dude, they, they charge uslike hacking stuff.

Lano (14:59):
Now right yeah, yeah, they charge a pretty penny to so you
had to buy a special laptop ora laptop that works with no just
.

Mig (15:06):
Just a laptop, you know?
Just Make sure.
We just had to make sure it hada At least like Windows 10.

Lano (15:13):
And when did you guys know that this was coming?
Or like, how did your brotherknow To get certified before and
all this other stuff?
Or he was always certified.

Mig (15:19):
No, I mean, we're always On top of it.
You know, it's like we, you getnotices.

Lano (15:23):
Yeah, we find out, we find out from our customers.

Mig (15:26):
You know we have our customers that are always
finding out about these things.
You know, they get all theliterature and everything and
they start asking us if we'regoing to get this or we're going
to get that, or you know, willwe be able to do this or will we
be able to do that?

Lano (15:46):
You know and that's what we find out.
And then we start investigatingit and everything.
And then you say your brotherwent and got certified.
Is that just like an onlinecourse?
He does, or he has to gosomewhere?

Mig (15:53):
Yeah, it was just something online that he did.
Yeah, it wasn't a big deal.

Lano (15:57):
But a big fee, though, right to get it done.

Mig (15:59):
Not even that big a fee.

Lano (16:06):
Oh really no.
But fee, oh really no.
But what they charge you for isum is, uh the subscription to
um that's.

Mig (16:09):
It was expensive.
Yeah, like the licensing andall that crap.

Lano (16:10):
That's where they get you wow, yeah, but you're saying
everything is it's like aminimum five days.
You have to do the five coldstarts yeah like every truck.

Mig (16:19):
Oh yeah, about a week job so you gotta, you gotta hope,
you cross those fingers thatweek passes and no more check
engine lights and the trucks arejust out of service until you
get that done.

Lano (16:29):
No, no, no, they're not out of service.

Mig (16:31):
You're using them.
Oh, they're still using them.
Yeah, you use them.
You have to use them.
Oh, that's the whole point.

Lano (16:36):
You just don't turn them on.

Mig (16:38):
That's the purpose.
No, no, use it.
Okay, but you're hoping that nomore check engine lights come
on.
Oh, you know, you're hoping youfigured out the problem and you
solved it.
So on that fifth day or thefifth cold start, you come back
and there's no more issues.
Boom, it passed.
Oh, you don't got to worryabout it for another six months.

Lano (17:02):
Six months Every twice a year now.

Mig (17:07):
Yes, every six months.
Six months every twice a year.
Yes, every six months.
Oh, and I'm, and I'm tellingyou there there's rumors going
around or there's legislationwants to make it every quarter.

Lano (17:16):
So now you're talking about four times a year I mean
that's good for you, but you'rejust going to get slammed every
quarter every six months, yeah,wow.

Mig (17:30):
So that's my life people.

Lano (17:33):
How are you guys doing?
Oh well, me more than I didn'tdo much Cause we've been having
busy weekends.
So we, me and my wife, we justtold each other like we're going
to like keep it very light thisweekend, and we, we just told
each other like we're going tolike keep it very light this
weekend, and we just did a lot.
We got a lot of rest done sowe're just like sleeping and
stuff.
We had some yeah.

Mig (17:49):
So, in a nutshell, I enjoyed my memorial day.
I just lounged it, exceptSunday.
Sunday, I got a wild hair on myass and I went down to TJ.
Is that what I'm looking at onthe screen?

(18:13):
Yeah, you are.
That looks like really good.
It was dude, it was delicious.
How much is that?
That was, uh, 365 pesos.
Which is what?
At 18 dollars, or 18 pesos tothe dollar?
I think that was what about 17bucks maybe that looks worth it,
dude.
Shit dude.
Right here you get somethinglike that For like maybe like
almost 30.

Lano (18:32):
Yeah, no, that looks like good and it's like fresh and
everything.

Mig (18:35):
Yeah, dude, that was so good, dude.

Lano (18:40):
So we're looking at the Instagram.

Mig (18:41):
And then those palomas right there Right off to the
right.
Those were two for one, so ohwow.

Lano (18:47):
It was a good time you say .
It says you took your centurypass, you went down with Richard
, just by yourself.

Mig (18:52):
No, I went with my OC homie she knows who she is.

Lano (18:57):
So how deep is that into?
In, it was Ensenada.
No, no, that was TJ.
Oh, tj, right there, so youdidn't have to go that far.

Mig (19:04):
Yeah right, where were the the beaches?
It's called the playas detijuana.
It's right there, it's rightaway.
It's close like, like maybe like10 minutes from the, from the
border.
That's what I'm saying.
You don't have to go all theway to ensanada or to rosarito
to get some good ass mariscos.
You just cross the border, headto playas and go to Tito's.

(19:28):
Well, that looks good, dude,it's so good.
And then you go and you get thefish tacos.
Dude, and listen to me when Isay this Only order one, because
they give you the full sizetortilla, uh-huh.
One, because they give you thefull-size tortilla, uh-huh, and
they give you two big pieces offish and they give you two

(19:50):
tortillas, so you can splitthose up and make two tacos.
I might have to make a trip downthere, so but I got to get all
prepped, like you, with thatcentury pass, because I don't
want to be waiting that long, ohyeah dude, I'll tell you, and
the only reason we we went iscause we both have the century
pass, and um, and I told her youknow it was like she, she was

(20:12):
hitting me up in the morning.
I told her, well, yeah, it'scool, I'm like the traffic's
going to be on Monday comingback, oh right, I'm like.
So Sunday probably won't bethat bad, and it wasn't.
You know, we got through pretty, pretty quick, like within a
half hour 40 minutes.
Maybe Passing right there bySan Ysidro Would have been

(20:35):
faster if I would have gonethrough Otay by the airport.
So that would have been wayfaster.
But you know, yeah, it was gooddude.
Oh, I want to go back.

Lano (20:46):
No, it looks good.
So we weren't sure what we weregoing to talk about, but we got
a lot of calls.
So the last episode aired May8th and all these calls came in
on May 9th.
So either somebody got drunk orwell, we'll hear it.
So we'll just start runningdown the criticism let me see, I
have to make sure, let me see, this is set properly alright,

(21:11):
let's hear it alright, let's seehit us with your best shot.

Mig (21:21):
Get the shot.

Lano (21:28):
Get the shot.
I don't hear nothing right now.
I don't hear nothing.

Mig (21:37):
Come on let me see.

Lano (21:41):
Damn fake-ass producer.
Well, let's switch on me.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
There we go.
Well, let's switch.
There we go, hey guys.

Lano (21:50):
This is the OG Mike.
Oh sorry, that's the old one.
Sorry, Right here is number one.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
What's up, mike?
Hey, three amigos.
If Young Guns 3 doesn't comecorrect with the production like
1883 and 1944, or 19, 1923,whatever those shows are, if it
don't come correct like that, Idon't know if it's gonna hit man
, they gotta do it right.
What if you agree?

Mig (22:15):
I agree with you 100 mark, but I don't think it's gonna hit
like that dude I.
I honestly don't think they'regonna get that type of writing
into young guns.

Lano (22:25):
3 no, nah, what is it?
Is it?

Mig (22:28):
amelia west was writing it I don't know who's writing it.

Lano (22:31):
I honestly don't know well , I don't know if he's talking
quality.
I mean, we just mean, make usall this I mean, I mean the west
was different from what wethought, but no, no, I mean
Cause.

Mig (22:41):
The thing is, I don't think , I don't think they can figure
out A storyline That'llcaptivate you, like Like 1883 or
1923, does you know?
It's like Young Guns Was like afun, not fun, I mean it was.

(23:02):
It was.
I don't know man, how would youdescribe it.
It was like a fun, not fun, Imean it was.
It was like it was.
I don't know man, how would youdescribe it.
It was like it was just cool,it was it was a cool western.

Lano (23:14):
I don't want to say like hip, but it was like for the
time, for our era, like our ageit was like cool, you know, it's
like you wanted to be the topstars you wanted to be the top
stars.
You wanted to be a cowboy, youknow.

Mig (23:25):
And it's like the music.
It was kind of like a departurefrom your dad's westerns, you
know yeah it wasn't ClintEastwood.
So that's why, like Today, Idon't if they write it for today
.
I don't know if they want tokind of like Stick to that
formula, cause I don't know ifit'll to kind of like stick to
that formula Because I don'tknow if it'll hold up, you know.

(23:46):
Or if they're going to goCompletely different direction
and, like Mark says, you know, try to go With the Taylor or
Taylor Sheridan type.

Lano (23:58):
Storyline I mean His story , is 1923, 1883.
Those are all.
Taylor Sheridan shows and I sawan interview with him and he
says he likes to keep hisstories simple but he does a lot
of character development.
Yeah, and, and that's how youcan see it in his shows, because
like the character developmentslike like off the charts, it's
really good.

Mig (24:17):
I mean for me, mark.
I mean I don't know if you goback and listen to the other
shows.
For me I think they're alreadymessing up, because my take is I
thought Chavez was dead, because for me, when they showed
the spirit horse coming for him, he clearly stated that when
the spirit horse comes for you, that's it.

(24:38):
So now all of a sudden he'salive and coming out in the
third one.
So for me that's already astrike.
Rick will argue With me on thatone.
I don't know who else will argueWith me on that one.
I mean whatever, but for methat's already like a strike.

Lano (24:57):
Lazy writing, you know I mean.

Mig (25:02):
I know you need star power, but I mean I know you need star
power, but I mean, if they wereGonna foreshadow or leave An
opening for a third one, thenthey shouldn't have done that.
Yeah, you know, but I don'tknow.

Lano (25:22):
And I think I think it's gonna be big Like if it comes.
Think I think it's gonna be bigLike if it comes out.

Mig (25:26):
I think it's gonna be like oh, I'm gonna see it.
I mean, just for nostalgia'ssake, you know, I wanna see it.
I think it's gonna be like andI wanna see what they're gonna
do.
You know I'm interested to see,for better or for worse.
You know I wanna see what theydo with the story.

Lano (25:40):
Cause I'm thinking it's gonna be like like maverick top
gun.
This is like one of our oldmovies that they're bringing
back.

Mig (25:45):
It's gonna be like like really big well, I mean, it'd be
nice if they make it as good asmaverick was written, but I
don't know all right, that'sasking a lot um the next call,
which is still mark the sharklucy.

Lano (26:02):
Oh, what's going?
On with the voice.
Oh, that's when I switched tothe tv.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Okay, let me see people with strollers that go to
theme parks.
Nah, they need to stay home.
I watched the back lot atuniversal and I've seen it at
other parks too, but way toomany strollers.
They have a home parking lotbut they stack them all in.

(26:31):
You gotta find your spot.
It's in the way.
Nah, hell, no, get rid of them, bro, get rid of them.
Put your kid in a backpackbefore, when we were growing up.

Lano (26:46):
You would either like rent a stroller there right like
they had, like the plastic onesoh man, like they had, like the
plastic ones you would rent orborrow or check out yeah,
there's some big bootleg assones there, man, but but it is
like people have like waggingstrollers and have a small fold
up one.

Mig (27:04):
Is it out of hand now?

Lano (27:06):
It's out of hand.
They're like they park themside by side.
They're like 8 deep, 8 rows.

Mig (27:16):
It's a mess.
They pack so much stuff for thekids.

Lano (27:21):
That's the thing.
Do we leave our stroller here?
We got our bags, we got, likeyou know, souvenirs.
You think someone's gonna takethem, but then there's a disney
employee there like watchingthem.
Dude, what happened?

Mig (27:34):
what the hell happened.
I remember, going around, mymom just took a bag with all the
, with all the bean burritosWrapped in foil dude, and you
know we didn't have no bag ofextra clothes or nothing.

Lano (27:50):
Look at these pictures.
This is it like.

Mig (27:53):
Oh, dude, that's.

Lano (27:55):
So I mean, this is a small parking, but they're just Like
you got no room to walk, likesee.
So they're all like lined up,there'll be an employee watching
them oh yeah, that's prettystupid and, um, someone like, as
someone moves them, theemployee, like you know,
reshuffles them all.
This guy reshuffling them all,but they're taking up a lot of

(28:16):
like real estate.
But um, just, it's just a bunchof strollers and see, these are
old plastic ones we used torent.
The first time we went werented one, but then we saw
everybody bringing their own.
Look at this, wow, this is apark where people run around,
the kids play, and it's just allstrollers everywhere.
But it is, look at this, likeTomorrowland.

(28:38):
It is like ridiculous.

Mig (28:41):
I'm with Mark.
Carry those kids in a backpackor take a leash.
Drag them on a leash.

Lano (28:49):
Alright, let me see.
Next call is Make them.

Mig (28:52):
Make them work the way Us Gen Xers did.
Damn stroller Parking lot.
Get the hell out of here.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Man, you gotta spend way Too much time Talking about
Disneyland and theme parks.

Lano (29:06):
You've heard this before.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Forget it.
Rick's rich.
He goes to Disneyland everyother week.
Blah, blah, blah.
Okay, okay, you understand.
Move on, bro.
Let's go Get the show moving.
Man, what do you guys got totalk about today?
I'm not even done with the showyet.
I'm not even done with the showyet.
I'm ready about to hit fastforward.
You guys need to figure thepace bro I mean finish the stuff
, Edit that out.

(29:28):
I don't know.

Lano (29:31):
Well, I don't even know if that was the episode that blew
up, the Disneyland episode, butuh, nick swears that or no, rick
swears that he didn't, like hehasn't been to Disneyland.
And I was like, dude, you wentthree times last year.

Mig (29:41):
What are you talking about?

Lano (29:42):
He goes all the time now.

Mig (29:44):
Dude goes.
So many times I think he'sgoing to grow a pair of ears
permanent man he goes for thecorn dog and this and that he's
got a lot of.

Lano (29:52):
He's got more than me With no kids.

Mig (29:55):
They probably got a stroller for him.
Imagine that shit Carrying himaround in a stroller.

Lano (30:03):
Let's see this next one.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Yo, I can't believe.
I just heard that.

Mig (30:11):
How'd you hear that, Mark?

Lano (30:11):
I just said it.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
What's this jailer show?
I don't even see your gay asswith that jailer show.
That's a girl's night out,homeboy.
What's this jailer show?
Call me a tool.

Lano (30:27):
So Mark was referring when Meg was talking about I went
with my girl fool.
It was her birthday present.

Mig (30:33):
You're going to tell me you want to take your lady to a
show like that for her birthday.

Lano (30:38):
Come on.
And someone stood up in frontof him and recorded the show.

Mig (30:42):
Yeah, I was venting because I had a freaking planet in
front of me.
I wanted to see J-Lo's bigbulbous ass.
Dude.
I paid good money to see that,Not some freaking orca in front
of me holding a damn phone.

Lano (30:58):
You didn't go to SeaWorld, right.

Mig (30:59):
Yeah, man Get my blood pressure up.
Don't get me started, mark inmy opinion.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
I think this if an artist is outdated, like he's
done, like his people, him, theyshould know, like they're out,
they should be telling like thisis it, your career is done, bro
, you shouldn't don't try tocome out no more.
Because I heard something new,too short stuff too, and I
wasn't impressed.
I was like whatever this?
We got bills to pay, obviously, you know.

(31:31):
But uh, you know, like otherrappers, like red man, he just
came out with the album, thealbum's banger.
It's dope, you know, you justkeep kind of keeping it to
himself, keeping it kind of old.
So I think it just depends onthe artist.
Some artists need to like juststop.
You know they shouldn't berapping, but they got to know

(31:51):
this man.
People in the camp have thetalent.
That's my opinion.
Some can do it, some cannot.
I think you sure should havebowed out at 10.

Lano (32:01):
Agreed Dude, I was listening, but I was reading it.

Mig (32:06):
I don't know if you read it .
Look at, look at the third lineon the screen.
Yeah, nothing, nothing of whathe said was written up there,
dude, so I caught redman album, and then I don't know what that
other stuff after that is.

Lano (32:13):
Yeah, dude, I don't know what the hell?

Mig (32:15):
I won't repeat it, dude.
But yeah, dude, I don't knowwhat the hell hopefully the
camera is talking about theredude?
Yeah, I don't know, man, AI isa pervert.

Lano (32:30):
He's talking about old artists.
So I didn't realize, because Iwas looking up, I was searching
for new albums out and stuff andI didn't know.
Snoop Dogg came out with a newalbum this past month and it's
not that bad.
So, mark, listen to the newSnoop album.
That came out with a new albumthis past month and it's not
that bad.
Mark, listen to the new Snoopalbum that came out last month,
not the missionary that came outduring the holidays.
This is another album that cameout on Death Row, but check it

(32:52):
out.
I was surprised because my wifewas like, oh, this is pretty
good.
She was bobbing her head to it.

Mig (32:58):
It's funny because G-Dog Sent me the funniest meme that I
relate to so much.
It's funny because G-Dog sentme the funniest meme dude that
just like I relate to so much.
It's just so relatable.
Dude, I don't know howrelatable it is to everybody out
there.
You know fellow Gen Xers thatare out there listening, but the
meme it shows this dude in hiscar and he's like listening to

(33:21):
the radio.
He's listening to a raw bass,it takes two.
And In the caption it reads youknow I went to the store but I
can't remember For what.
But in the meantime, you know,so the music's playing and he's

(33:43):
rapping along Word for word.
Dude, like he knows every lyricto the song.
It's like.
It's like how is it that we canremember every damn lyric to a
song that's like 30 years old,but I can't remember what the

(34:03):
hell I went to the store for.
No, that's that's you knowthat's true, and it's so funny,
dude, because just the other day, you know, like on the topic of
too short, I was in my you know, I was driving around and I'm
like you know what that's like Iwant to hear some too short
dude.
It's like I want to see how itsounds in my truck, you know,
because I haven't reallylistened to anything any music

(34:25):
worth listening.
Yeah, worth listening to in mytruck yeah, putting it up like
something that bumps, you know, because I want to see how my
truck sounds like if it bumpsand it sounds pretty good, dude.
So, yeah, dude, I got it and Iput on.
Uh, don't fight the feeling andoh man, I was listening to that
shit, dude like, oh, dude, thatthat just made me feel so

(34:47):
nostalgic, man, the other day Ipassed by your truck, you always
had the the flag like letteringin the back.

Lano (34:52):
Yeah, oh yeah, well not always.

Mig (34:55):
I mean it, I think after a year I looked I I seen, uh,
somebody had like that's on theback of their truck, so I
started looking for it and Ifound it.

Lano (35:05):
Well, that's cool Cause it's like subtle, but it's nice.

Mig (35:08):
And yeah, dude, I just started finding, like other you
know, like on YouTube, cause Itry to do it on.
I mean, you guys swear bySpotify dude, but I hate Spotify
dude Cause I don't know, I justcan't figure out how to use it.

Lano (35:23):
So it's like I don't know cause I'm not a paid member, but
I do have a.

Mig (35:28):
I have an account like a member account.

Lano (35:29):
But like I'll search something and they just bring up
things that sound like that,it's just, it's frustrating to
me.

Mig (35:34):
So I just I jumped on YouTube and Started bringing up
two short songs, you know, andthen I put up cuss words, dude,
and it's just like everythingjust comes back, dude.

Lano (35:46):
It's like I'm a teenager again.
You go back to that moment whenyou first heard it or something
like your soundtrack.

Mig (35:52):
It's like I know it word for word.
You know it's like it neverleft and it's like, why the hell
do I remember this?
You know it's like, why do Ihave this?
And you know why is this likethis memory that's your brain?

Lano (36:06):
ingrained in my head, dude and I can't remember nothing
else, and like you said, likeyou, you probably hadn't heard
that song or album in what?
15, 20 years dude, decades, decades and then decades.

Mig (36:17):
And then you knew, word for word, everything it's like it
comes on and it's like boom,it's there.
You know, it's like I put onthat and do it, and then I put
on digital underground.
The freaks of the industry oh,dude, freaks of the industry.
I put that one on, dude.
That one I knew word for word.
Yeah that's such a good songAnyways for today's music.

Lano (36:40):
You can't even I can't remember anything in today's
music.
You can't even I can't rememberanything in today's music.
Ah caca.
Well, that's crazy, becausemusic is like, even if it's like
like a soundtrack, like to amovie, like you hear that song
like, oh, this is that movie.

Mig (36:55):
Yeah.

Lano (36:55):
Or this is the that time, or whatever.

Mig (36:58):
Yeah, like you hear, eye of the Tiger.
Yeah, right away Rocky, youknow it's Rocky, you know.

Lano (37:00):
Yeah, like you hear, eye of the Tiger.
Yeah, right away, rocky, youknow it's Rocky, you know.

Mig (37:04):
Yeah, you hear Back in Time .

Lano (37:06):
Right away Back to the Future, right, you know.
And those are not like Evensongs that, like, we would bump
every day.
Like you know, like those aremovie songs.
It's not like we're listeningin the car, like Back in Time or
Eye of the Tiger.

Mig (37:19):
Like bumping.
No, but it's just.
It's what you associate it with.

Lano (37:26):
All right, let me see what's the next call.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Let me see there's hold on Exhibit.
Exhibit's coming out with a newalbum May 16th.
It's called Kingmaker.
You know I like 40 Days, 40Nights.
I like I see the life and Ilike the things he did with the
alcoholics and his undergroundstuff with Defy, yeah.

(37:47):
But I knew he came out withlike man vs Machine.
I don't know, I wasn't reallyfeeling those albums but I'm
going to check this one out.
But maybe Exhibits is one ofthe cats that should have bowed
out, maybe after Restless, Idon't know.
But on the 16th when the albumdrops, I'm going to listen to it
.
You can pre-download orpre-order right now to listen to
on Spotify.
Anyways, later yeah.

Lano (38:10):
I'm not going to do that on Spotify.
It's not going to work for me.
I don't know why.
Maybe I got to be a paid memberbut he's saying a new exhibit
album is coming out that weshould check out or listen to.

Mig (38:19):
You know what Mark?

Lano (38:24):
listen to you know what mark.

Mig (38:25):
You could be the show uh music tester.
Send it to us if it's good.
Yeah, dude, you'll.
We, we trust your judgment inmusic because you got a pretty
good uh musical palette there soso what's the?

Lano (38:33):
I mean?
Because not everything's onyoutube yet.
Like not everything has a musicvideo, but like sometimes I
want to send you guys a song butlike spotify doesn't have it or
doesn't pop up, like doeseverybody have amazon?
I know, not everybody has likeapple music, but like I'll
search it for spotify, because Iknow you guys why?
I know ricky and mark usespotify, but but I mean the

(38:53):
music doesn't have all the songsI'm looking for all the time.
I just have to probably recordon my phone and send it probably
.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Yo, yo, man Yo.
I hear you trying to do thehard times tough people, hard
times, good times when you'reyoung boys, all those things
you're trying to say.
How about this?
I'll donate $35,000 to yourfavorite charity if you read one
book from Harry Potter.

Mig (39:26):
Play that again.
What the hell was he talkingabout?

Lano (39:30):
I think he's talking about the quote, but I don't know
what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Yo, yo, mick, Yo, I hear you're trying to do the
hard times tough people, hardtimes, good times for you, young
boys, all those things you'retrying to say.
How about this?
I'll donate $35,000 to yourfavorite charity if you read one
book from harry potter it was aquote that, uh, we had to look

(39:54):
it up to get it right.

Lano (39:56):
But uh, mark issued a challenge to make the, I guess
to read a harry potter, butthose things are like 700 pages
or whatever.
You've seen all the movies?
Nah, you didn't.
But you never got into it.
Nah, I mean not reading thebooks, but not the movies.

Mig (40:10):
Not your thing, not even one, nope I watched one movie
and you didn't like it crap Ithought they.
I thought they ripped off starwars really yeah dude.
It was that first harry potterepisode, dude.
I thought it was like a directrip-off of Phantom Menace.

Lano (40:30):
Alright, two more left.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
I heard you Lano.
Yes, getting it From Too Shortwas supposed to be his last
album.
That was it.

Mig (40:44):
Yeah, Because he had said 10 albums and he's out, hey Lano
.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
I'm with you, man.

Lano (40:50):
Yeah, he had said 10 and then it seems like I don't know
from what you that list we'relooking at he made like 10 more.
I don't know.
Yeah, 10 more that we hadn'teven seen.
But that's why, like, if you'regonna like Make that your thing
, like I'm 10 and I'm out, thenstick to it 10 year old.
Like Mickey was saying, become aproducer or maybe do guest

(41:11):
appearances.
A few lyrics here and there, but albums.
I don't know if he was hurtingfor money or what, but his old
library, that was enough.
Retire a legend, yep.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
So again it's Friday and there's no podcast.
Again, you guys dropped theball.
I cannot believe it.
Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.

(41:49):
Weak men got together andcreated just another royal
podcast.
Is that how it goes?
I don't know, Someone tell meif I'm right or wrong here, but
I think I got it pretty right,Blake.

Mig (42:05):
Well, listen up here, partner.
If you start Chipping in someducats and pay us for doing this
, then maybe we'll do it Withmore consistency and we can't
even get Mark to join anothershow.
But since we got bills to pay, son, we gotta take priority Work

(42:26):
priority over the podcast.

Lano (42:27):
So Mark's working in universe studios.
We're on his way home.
Yeah, stay in your lane, we'llbuy his dinner.
Go rearrange those strollers atuniversal studios.
We'll buy his dinner and hecould join the show and like
we'll do it like I could havedone it with mark last week if
he would have showed up oh,there you go, everybody was out
with mark last week.

Mig (42:47):
If he would have showed up.

Lano (42:48):
Well, there you go.
Everybody was out.
I'll just step up.
I would have been happy to do atool episode with him.
Talk, talk tools, talk umretaining walls at universal,
whatever he's doing.
But uh, he couldn't make thecommitment.
He had that one episode with usand then he was wiped out the
next day.
I checked on him and he waslike he said he was.
He was tired.
Talk a big game, son.
But let's, let's see if we getlike, let's challenge my, we'll

(43:12):
get him within the next nextthree weeks if you could join us
for one more show.
You talk a big game, but you'rejust another la flop.
He's just hiding behind hisphone phone calls over here.
Yeah, all right, so that wasthe.
The last call.
That was on may 16th.
I guess that was last Friday.
But, like you said, we've beenbusy.
I don't know if we're going todo another summer break this

(43:33):
year or not.
We probably shouldn't.
We'll probably just keep goingbecause we haven't done that
many.
I think we should just keepgoing, keep going.
We haven't done that much, butas we go every week I like to
get in the rhythm, when we kindof skip a fuse and I get out of
rhythm and stuff and then it'shard to come back and and do it,
but um, ricky's out again today.

Mig (43:55):
But he did say it's the last week that he's doing this
one particular job.
So he says working netflix oris he working?
He's doing some job for netflixIn Hollywood.

Lano (44:06):
I don't know, but it requires him to work at night,
so, so that's why he's out.
And then, um, maybe with this.
You know these diesel smarts.

Mig (44:18):
I'm spotty.
So I mean there's days where Iget off early and, like the one
day where I got off really early, you had something to do with
your dad.
Yeah, and I got off reallyearly, you had something to do
with your dad yeah, and I gotoff like super early yeah yeah.
And I was like ready and pumpedand primed to do the show.
Then you said that you hadstuff to do with your dad.

Lano (44:36):
I was like are you kidding me?

Mig (44:38):
dude, I'm like I'm ready to do the show.

Lano (44:42):
And that's like random and stuff yeah well, it happens,
man, but I'm going to take, I'llbe gone one week in June, so
we'll probably be off that weekand then, yeah, just different
stuff, but I want to keep itgoing.
Like I told my wife, the goalis to get to 200 episodes,
because I had saw somewhere likeonly 10% of podcasts make it to

(45:03):
200 episodes.

Mig (45:05):
Where are we at right now?

Lano (45:05):
125.
Yeah, we could do it.
So we still got maybe anotheryear and a half or two years if
we get back on the street.
But um, no, I mean we could doit.

Mig (45:16):
We only got like three or four people listening, but we
could do it.
We could do it.
Um, we we owe it to our fourlisteners you got um, you want
to keep.

Lano (45:25):
You got anything else to talk about right now, or?

Mig (45:28):
um, I mean I got a lot of stuff we could talk about right
now.

Lano (45:30):
I mean I got a lot of stuff we could talk about, but I
kind of want to wait for Rickto be here, so he can weigh in
Me too.

Mig (45:34):
I mean, if you want me to tease some topics, let's tease
it and send Rick some homework.
I did want to weigh in on thewhole From when Mark was here.
I did want to weigh in on thewhole Jordan LeBron goat topic

(45:59):
and then uh, oh, and then Iwrote down Rick wanted us to
remind them about the LuchaLibre that he saw.

Lano (46:06):
Oh, that's right.
Where did he see that at no no,I think it was somewhere over
there.
Oh, at that west covina orsomething yeah the food hall or
something.

Mig (46:14):
Yeah, he went to that food hall well, I was gonna ask you
guys that they're making a newnaked gun movie but you see, you
see any trailers to that yetnot yet, yeah, I saw it, it
looks pretty horrible.
Oh, it's not good, what's likehe passed away right yeah, it

Supposedly it's liam neesondude.

I wanted to bring up to youguys going on, but I want to
wait till Rick's here.

thinking about running it or ifhe knew about it.
But we'll save that for nextweek when he's here.

Mig (47:46):
Yeah, because one thing that I also wanted to talk about
that's kind of like just fluffstuff was that I was watching a
video going down the YouTuberabbit holes and everything and
something I thought wasinteresting.
But I don't know how true thesource is, but they were talking
about the heights ofcelebrities and I jotted down a

(48:10):
lot of these celebrities andtheir heights and a lot of them.
I found pretty surprising whatthey were.
Some of them were shorter thanI expected and some of them were
a lot taller than I expected,male and female now I mean I I
think this is well known, buttom cruise is small, right well,
yeah they said something theyput him on top of, like a box or

(48:33):
something, when he's talking topeople yeah, and then like the
camera angles andall that stuff, but you know
there are dudes.

Lano (48:39):
But again you know, it's like I'm not too sure that guy
um from saving sarah marshallwhat's her name, that tall dude?

Speaker 3 (48:48):
well, he's tall.

Lano (48:48):
I saw him in person at the cvs.
Yeah, he's tall that guy fromhow he met your mother.
I forget his name, but y'all, that'll be a cool list to see.
Like, have us guest.

Mig (48:58):
Yeah, see the heights but how big they are.
So I got a list here, you know.
But I'm telling you again, Ihave the name of the video that
I saw so you guys can check itout if you want.

Lano (49:10):
I heard Stallone's small too, which, like surprised me,
surprising.

Mig (49:15):
That's what I thought too.

Lano (49:19):
Alright, so we'll save that for next week, not
necessarily.

Mig (49:23):
So Mark.

Lano (49:27):
Chill out, chill out, chill out.
