So I went to work and Lindsay got prepared for
this amazing trip.
And I worked, got off, and wegot in the car with Lindsay.

So it was a bunch.

So we we set off.
It was about seven when we setoff.

I was going to work my shift and then we were gonna
load up and leave when I got offwork.
Well, I just I had extravacation days, so I was like,
let's just, I'm gonna take theday off.
And um, so we could leave alittle earlier.
So instead of nine o'clock,well, it would have been 10
o'clock at night, oh uh past 10when we would have left, we left

at 5 in the afternoon.
Sister-in-law came over, weloaded up, and we set off now.

We didn't stop till we got to Bussies.

The original No, we stopped in Georgia to go to the
bathroom at the Georgia WelcomeCenter.
I'm not gonna go through everysingle stop that we did because
God, that would be we'd be hereforever.
So we're gonna highlight all ofthe places that we like stayed
the night and stopped andvisited attractions.
So the original plan was Jessewas gonna drive, and then I was

gonna drive while he slept, butwhen I drove, he what did I say

Jesse was gonna drive, then hewas gonna sleep while I drove.
But he decided to sit up frontwith me and and feed me because
we hadn't eaten dinner yet, so Iate some, we ate some
McDonald's, he fed me a big macand fries.

Yes, yes, we got Bucky's in Virginia.
It was above Florence, there's aBucky's.

And uh, because gotta stop at Bucky's, and then
it was sister-in-law Shelly'sturn to drive, where Jesse was
absolutely supposed to get somesleep, but he couldn't do it.
Then it was um, then he's like,get you a nap.
I couldn't do it.

I took the wheel again.

He took the wheel again, and then so I was gonna
drive again, my astigmatismkicked in, um, and panic driving
at night, everything was runningtogether.
I was like, I can't do this.
So sister-in-law took back overand took us on in to DC.
We've had no sleep, nobody,nobody.

We're bucking up 95.

That's a 12-hour drive from here to DC.
And then we get to DC, and ourfirst stop was the Exorcist
Steps.
We did that before the break ofdawn.
That was awesome.

The little neighborhood aroundit had these little steep

So then daylight approaches, andI'm gonna let you take the
wheel.

And I'm I'm like, okay, cool.
It shouldn't be too packedaround the national monument.
So on our way back, we of courseseen the the uh cathedral,

And we eased on down to theLincoln Memorial and we were

And they're they're renovatingall that, so it's all fenced in.
Um I screwed around and ran acouple of red lights and
everything, just just lost.

Just I was we have not gotten our toll bills in
yet.
Um and and hopefully we won'tget any traffic bills in from
the trip.

The trip.
I did screw up a fingerscrossed, give us some uh good
juju on that.

Um and we we we wound up down inthe national mall area trying to
find a parking spot, but peopleshow up there and grab those
spots before daylight.
There's no way.

We were in DC driving around downtown before
daylight.
People are already running.
Uh we saw a rowing team.

Yeah, they got dogs out there, they're lizards,
they're walking theirchimpanzees and their one-legged
orangutan's.
And it was it was honestlythough, it was just packed,
completely, no parking.
And I was like, let's grab agarage.
Here's the garage I was wantingto.
No parking.
No parking.
So we rode around slow andchecked out all the the national

And um we were like, okay, we'regonna do something, you know,
while we're here at When we needto stretch our legs.
I mean, we've been right on theroad forever.
So we went to um Ford's Theater.
More history, more history,Abraham Lincoln history.
We actually got to see the gunthat shot Abraham Lincoln there,

and I'm gonna do a little storyabout that maybe next week or

At this point, Jesse and I have been awake for over
30 hours.

I woke, so he goes, what time did you go to work
that morning?
Between 4 30 and 5 a.m.

I got up not too long after him because I wanted
to make sure everything wasdone, laundry was caught up,
everything was packed, Silas waspacked.
Uh I had I had to do myeverything shower.
I had, yeah, so, and that takesa while.
And I was done with everything.
Oh, and then me and Silas had togo to Walmart.

Oh, I got my nails done thatday.
We had so, and then he and I hadlunch uptown, came back, um, got
everything.
We were ready with everything bythree o'clock, and then
sister-in-law showed up early,so that was nice.
We were done.
But it luckily, sister-in-lawhad um Shelly, she had gotten

some more sleep than us.
That's why we let her just driveus on into DC.
Because even though we wereawake, we weren't.

That was the hardest leg of thewhole trip, honestly.

That was the roughest I've ever felt in my

know, that part really did makeus feel old for real.
We did the damn thing for ourage.

Landed after DC in Philly.

Still no sleep.
No sleep.
Um, it is a Jesse's got theitinerary here, so I'm gonna go
by that.
So it is a uh between Jesse overum overshot the time here.

So it says three hours Philly.
It was about two and a half.

Yeah.
Well stops and whatever, yeah.

But it took us, it felt like another entire day to
get there because we did stop acouple of times.
We got food.
So we got Wendy's.
We after we bathroomed, we gotWendy's.
I got a salad, I've mixed it up,I've put it to the side, but I'm
gonna feed him because he'sdriving us to Philly.

We're going through Baltimore.
You've eaten quite a few, he'shad quite a few chicken nuggets,
quite a few fries before that.
So I had a chicken nugget dippedin sweet chili sauce, ready to
go for him.
And then we go under theBaltimore tunnel.

I seen it on her face when she started seeing the
signs.
I really did.
And I'm over here like nom nomnom nom.
I'm like, wait a minute, I gotsome shit I gotta drive through.

SPEAKER_02 (10:54):
And if you if I haven't mentioned it yet, your
girls got anxiety over,especially with bridges and
tunnels.
She didn't know about tunnelsuntil she knew about tunnels,
though.
And I'm not even reallybothered.
I've been through a plenty oftunnels in my life.
We've gone through and bridges.

Yeah, you lived in Atlanta, so it had kind of a
tunnelage.

SPEAKER_02 (11:14):
Well, we've driven through that tunnel.
We've driven through uh a tunnelon the way to New Orleans.
Yeah, I have pictures of tunnelsand bridges that we've been
through.
I went over Seven Mile Bridge toKey West, but it's the high
bridges and it's the tunnelsunderwater that fuck with me
because it's the water thing.

Yeah.

So while we're driving under the water in
Baltimore, Baltimore Tunnel, Ihave uh an absolute panic
attack.
I could not breathe.
I blacked out, and mind you, nosleep.
I'm three Celsius in.
Well, we two, and then Jesse andI were had just cracked another
one open and we're sharing it.

I I think I honestly think I had a mini heart attack.
Uh because after we went throughthe tunnel, I was fine.
My I I was I was mid mid-tierfine.
Um, I'm still holding on to hischicken nugget.

You know, I'm like, I'm whiteknuckling because and I would
have been completely fine, but Iabsorb all that with her, and
I'm like, I'm doing this withyou because you're going through
this right beside me.

So and that was one that I I I could not control.
Sometimes I can control them.
That one just came on out ofnowhere, and it I could all I
could do is breathe through it.

Um, so yeah, we did that.
Baltimore Tunnel.
And um then it wasn't about 45minutes later, I had just
recovered from the heartpalpitations.

Then we get into Philly and haveto go over the Betsy Ross
Bridge.
Oh, Philly.
And sister-in-law has to bringit to light how old and rusty
this fucking bridge is.
And I literally just looked backand I was like, Shelly.

But we finally get into Philly and we're staying at
um the Renaissance, which is byuh Marriott Bonvoy.
It's beautiful, beautiful place.

So he was so nice.

We get we get checked in.
We have to do valet parking,that way they can bring it back
to us.
So we have to empty out and wewhat I just felt like such white
trash with all of our mismatchedluggage.

So our concierge happen to befrom Florida.
Um, and so the first room thatwe go check into has one
king-sized bed.

We got our shit, we gathered itup, moved to the next room,

I'm like, watch some TV, letthem nap so we can have a few

later.

So they I let them get a coupleof hours in.
I got maybe 30 minutes um ofgood, like passed out sleep.

So we had it door-dashed up tous.

And we had we had just we walkeddown, we checked out
Independence Hall, everything.

And apparently they have like aRocky run that's fixing to be

Could not find parking thereeither.
And I'm like, here we go again.
We're doing the same thing wedid in DC, we're in Philly, and

I want to check out these stairsbecause you know we we love
Rocky.
Actually, I think Lindsay lovesRocky way more than me.
She's like the hugest Rocky fan.
I found parking around back,could have found it for free,
but I didn't know it untilafterwards.
We paid like$30 to park there.

That was the most expensive parking.

get there, we're not gonna go toum Liberty Island, we're not

because like I said, on anine-day stretch.

about that.

Okay, so we leave New Hampshire, and it's about
um, it was probably it was, Ithink it was 48 minutes total
from Hampton, New Hampshire toSalem, Massachusetts.
We drive through the town alittle bit, we see some side
roads and stuff because GPS kepttaking us on these little scenic

routes that we didn't ask for,but we liked them.
We we enjoyed it.
Beautiful.
And um, so we find a parkinggarage, and Jesse already knew.
I'm glad that he did that, heknew that.
Um you follow the yellow and redlines through the town to see

So we stopped at Gallows Hill umand saw a little presentation,
which I I would like because wehave covered the Salem Witch
trials.
Go back like a year ago um inour catalog and check those out.
I made them as accurate as Icould find.
Um, so they did a littlepresentation on that, which I

appreciated because Silas didn'tknow a lot of that history, and
this was a good PG 13 way of himlearning that because he's 11,
he's got he's about to be 12,and so we're not completely
sheltering parents, but at thesame time, there's some things
you just need to be older tounderstand.

And this was a good littlepresentation.
So Gallows Hill is great.
Now you can go through Salem andspend a lot of money on museums
and haunted houses and things.
That was the main one we did.
After that, we just kind of wentaround town.
We took pictures of um the umthe bewitched statue, um, just

The the the house from HocusPocus.
Uh, both of them.
There's two two houses that theyused, and the witch house, and
then the uh the the mansion thatthe kids lived in.
What else did we see in inSalem?

We um we went to Blackcraft.
Blackcraft.
Had to support them because theyhelped get me to Rockville.
But there were hold on, let melook through my pictures.
And uh you walk into Blackcraft,it's like checkered floors,
beautiful, it's laid outperfectly.

And then we walked to the to thewas it the courthouse area.

We walked down to thecourthouse, it's like downhill,
and that's where they had likethe trials in front of it and
all that.
We walked around all that.
And oh, we had an amazing mealwhile we were there too.

So we went to Dire Wolf Cafe because we love Game

So we stopped in there to eat.
Our server was like, um, but thefood was great.
Jesse got steak tips with mashedpotatoes and some spinach, like

I got a kick-ass uh sushi roll.
Silas got some um, he got somebasic mac and cheese, but it was
made with like the my favoritenoodles, the cantalini.

Sicken tenders, some chicken tenders, some but that
was pretty good.

And then we set off on our journey to Fall River,
Massachusetts, where we stayedin the Lizzie Borden bed and
breakfast, which is the originalhome that the murders that
Lizzie was accused of happened.

But first, um, because youcannot if unless you're doing a

museum tour.
We just did the night staybecause we had to go to New York
City the next day.

So Salem is 48 minutes from umHampton Beach to or from Hampton

Beach to Salem, and then it'sanother two hours to the Lizzie
Borden house.
It was actually about an hourand 45 minutes to be exact.

The town of Fall River isgorgeous.
They have a beautiful river, ahumongous bridge.

We came up on that ridge, so we're we're a lot of
fall rivers down there near theriver, so we're on a ridge
coming into Lizzie's uh calledit Borden Street.

It was Borden Road, but it you it uh previously when
she lived there, it was I thinkit was called 92 Second Street.

were like, come look at this.
And literally on the other sideof their bed where they were

sleeping for the night was adummy of Abby covered by a

Which I didn't walk in to seethat far in.
And just for for just for therecord, if you're at the top of
the stairs and you're notlooking over that bed, you can't

Uh, they had a one flushingtoilet, which was in the
basement.

Um, so they have addedbathrooms.
So there is bathrooms andRunning water and electricity,
which the Bordens did not get tohave.

we leave, we go to uh we make acouple of stops and we go to
Central Park.
We walk Central Park, well, notall of it, uh about half of it,

We went and ate a hot dog withKraut, a Nathan's hot dog with

Uh that was the natural no, that was uh the
Metropolitan Museum.

So we went to the Met, and thenyou can cross, which is a
perfect track, honestly.

You go to the Met, you crossover the Museum of Natural
History, right through CentralPark, and you get to see all
these iconic spots where it'sbeen in movies and stuff.
So it was really it was reallyfun to do that.

And we were a little late toactually go into the lobbies and
check out a little bit because Iwas like, well, let's just walk
into the lobbies of these placesand we'll catch the subway back.

But you know what was so fun forme walking in New York City, um,

conversation as they walked by.
Because they lived there, likewhat you know, and people had
their groceries in one hand, uh,some people had their food for
dinner that night in anotherhand.
And it was that was just likecity life is so different than
ours.

so used to all the noise aroundthem, so they're just loud
people, and I loved it.
Everybody was nice still, Iloved it, everybody was still
nice, still amazing.

New York City, and people thinkI'm crazy, but um, so we get
back to the room.
Now we had already peddledaround uh Times Square for a
little bit and did South andStreet performers, don't look

Uh, real fast, especially when you're and
hustle you for money.
Big dude with a cool shirt onand a straw hat looking standing
out, and they just like, no, youyou are definitely gonna be a

with with his straw hat, andhe's eight foot six foot twelve.
So he got picked, and um, sothey were there, they're there

Because I told everybody to notunpack anything until we figured
out what was going on with thisair conditioning.
And um our window looked rightoutside the door to the Palace
Theater.
It was very cool.
So we we get all of our stuff inthat room, we go back out and we
go have New York City pizza.

So we go in there, we get freecoffee, we take a couple of
pictures, and then we walk backand we go and we're taking

They give on the big red bus,they give you headphones where
you can listen to an audio ofeverything that you're about to

we went to first we did theEmpire State Empire State
Building.

everything we've watched ourwhole life, being on top of that
building had to take it back.

We stayed at the Quality Inn.
Did not know it had a hidden gemthere until the next uh it was

The Daubin House is um Americanhistory where they had the uh
Underground Railroad comethrough there, so that's the

northern point of theUnderground Railroad where
people were escaping slavery atthe time would stop in there and
uh get you know food andsupplies and things like that
for the Underground Railroad.
The food at Daubin House wasamazing.
I think that that place wasbuilt in like the 1700s.

We were kind of giddy about thatone because the way up, you
could see this roadsideattraction with all of this,
it's it's all a Mexican typemotif, and there's so many cool
things to look at.
We're like, let's just get aroom there.
That way we don't have to go allthe way back down to Florida.

So we got another room at another quality inn uh
booked.
We we booked it the night beforeat um Quality Inn in Dillon,
South Carolina, which is fiveminutes from the south of the
border area that we had alreadyeyed on the way up.
It looked amazing.

It looked like a mini awesome.

It looked like a mini Las Vegas, but uh Mexican
motif.

Well, first of all, your girl drove three hours of
the seven into South Carolina,and I drove over a bridge and I
I made it.

I survived you.
Look at you now.
But then we get checked into ourroom, which was uh okay, so it
was rated seven out of tenstars.

But it was just somewhere to sleep.

And um there was no bugs.

So we go to South of the Border,we're like, we're amped up.

I thought fresh cool little thing, especially for
Silas and then us.
We love Mexican food.

Yeah, we wanted some yummy, fresh Mexican food.

We thought we were gonna get some good, good.

We drive into this whole area.

We're the only people in the whole fucking
complex.
In the whole area.
We're talking about probably afive-acre area.
It is all lit up, beautifulflashing arcades and shit going
on.
It's just us, just us.
All the the Mexican stuff, thezonkies are running around, they

got statues of dudes wearinglike the little blankets and the
sombreros.

And we choose a restaurant called Sombreros.
Because when we get in and getseated, we're the only people in
the place, and I felt so bad.
The cute little South Carolinacountry bumpkin server.
I mean, the cutest accent ever.
She's got she's dressed up,she's ready for a crowd.

We thought this place wasclosed.
There was nobody.
It was just us.
It was literally a ghost town inthe most lit up area you've ever
seen.
Ever.
We go in, their menu containedzero Mexican food.

SPEAKER_01 (01:40:06):
Zero.
And she's like, well, we canprobably make a quesadilla or
something.
I'm like, what the fuck?
It's like we just walked intoCity Walk.
With nobody there.
With nobody there.

SPEAKER_02 (01:40:16):
It was a good one.
Which we have had happen duringCOVID times.
Oh, yeah, we kind of did.
We were pass holders ofUniversal Studios.
Um so we had an 18-month pass.
Yeah.
Midway through, we go for ourvacation.
The whole country shut down.
Uh actually, the whole worldshut down two days later.
Um, City Walk looked like whatwe were at that weekend.

But anyways, we still had somegreat Jamaican food.

They had the great Jamaican food that we had at Bob
Marley's.
Yeah.

So yeah, she's like, I'm sorry, but I can recommend a
place to you, which wasliterally back the other way,
back by our hotel room, andJesse's like, fuck, I don't want
to drive nowhere.
But it was five minutes, it waswhatever.

I handled it, and it was amazing though.

That restaurant was it was amazing.

We went back to our room um andgot a night's sleep.
And the next day we get to go toBuggy's.

Um, so yeah, so um Shelly andSilas and even Jesse, they they
per they partook in the um freecontinental breakfast, which
they I mean, which that was thebest part of the whole that
hotel experience.
They had everything like baggedup, ready to go for you.

So I grabbed a bagel and boiledeggs, but I was still full for
Mexican food the night before.
That I all I had when I drove toBucky's um was a boil, was a
boiled egg because I did notwant to ruin my appetite before
I got to Bucky's because I I Iwhen we go to Bucky's, I get it

like a full buffet.
Um there they have asouthwestern wrap in their cold
section that I love.
I love their chicken salad.
And then I grabbed some slicedpickles, sliced spicy pickles
that I put the chicken salad on.
And then I got some spicy dillpickle chips, I got some
jalapeno chips, like I said,full buffet for me.

I was so hungry and I was soexcited that I had waited until
I got a Bucky's to eat.

You gotta get the brisket.
I have to get the brisket.

I usually I I sometimes get a brisket taco,
like because when we go toRockville, we go on the way, and
I'll usually get a hot itemwhile I'm there, and then I get
cold stuff for the rest of theweekend that were there to that
I can snack on.
But I knew that we we werealmost home.
It was only like two hours left.

Yeah, we knocked that on out.

We listening to laundry the next two, three,
four days.
But yes, we were we we did thedamn thing.

And then we rolled in to LakeCity around what three o'clock,

And uh we had the rest of the night.
We did laundry, we started theEd Geen series.
Yeah, we recorded a recap ofEdgeen, and here we are a week
later.
It was really amazing trip.

I think we planned it perfectly.
I lined it all up right, made alittle itinerary, it worked out.
So we did it, you know?
We survived.
And you gotta do it.
You gotta do an East Coast trip.
If anybody's on the East Coast,just go ahead and plan it.

And everything was planned out just right.
Spend a little time, plan it outright.

Halloween Horror Nights soon.

We came back with money left over, and now we're
going to Halloween Horror Nightswith my bestie Cindy.

Yeah, so like I just wanted to say I didn't watch a
lot of the Jeffrey Dahmer stuff.
I do remember it on the news andall that growing up.
So I don't still know a lotabout it.

When he and I lived in our first home together, uh,
we did watch a documentary aboutthe actual woman that lived
beside him.

Gacy, and then uh I I knewnothing about him.
So Jesse has in the past knownsome shit, and we've watched

after that.
That was only an hour.
But we left out of Colorado andwe were doing like 500 miles an
hour in a propeller plane.
Well, into Colorado.

We were we were cruising up intoColorado in a prop plane.
But way back, we were on a jetengine, and it was just like we

flew back, was it like an hourand a half from Colorado?

It was something stupid from Colorado back to
Florida.

He's like, Yeah, I'm gonna goahead and catch some time up,
and we're gonna go in about 550.
I was like, Lindsay, we'retraveling 550 miles an hour, and
she's like wide out her eyes.
Shut the fuck up! That bigaround.
But it was it was it was smoothcruising cruising.
It was smooth.

No, no, I do know that if I ever want to go back
