SPEAKER_01 (01:43):
It was crazy how
that tied together and we had to
do it.
Had to.
Had to do it.
And we got a Manhattan here.
Yeah, so we had our littleboard.
Lindsay's gonna pull it up.
And we're we're doing like uhsome cocktails here in there.
SPEAKER_02 (01:56):
So we're doing a
Manhattan today.
SPEAKER_01 (01:57):
It's pretty good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:58):
Right here on our
mixology board.
SPEAKER_01 (02:01):
We can mark that one
off.
SPEAKER_02 (02:02):
We can mark that one
off.
SPEAKER_03 (02:04):
Well, let's get it.
SPEAKER_02 (02:05):
Okay.
It is with bourbon, vermouth, and cherries.
And I'm gonna try it.

SPEAKER_01 (02:15):
Welcome to my world,
bitch.
Oh, that's fucked.
Oh, that's good.
No, no, uh, no, no, come on.
Okay, well, welcome to my worldanyhow.
Speaking of Manhattans, I'lltell you about a Manhattan that
I had in this story.
That's really cool.
So In the recap of the travelinggensies.
SPEAKER_02 (02:36):
Yes.
Let's start at the verybeginning.
Sorry, sound of music has beenin my head for a few days now.
SPEAKER_01 (02:45):
So I went to work
and Lindsay got prepared for
this amazing trip.
And I worked, got off, and wegot in the car with Lindsay.
SPEAKER_02 (02:59):
Okay.
I'm getting the itinerary thatJesse made so I can uh remember
in detail because it kind of rantogether.
SPEAKER_01 (03:06):
So it was a bunch.
Okay.
So we we set off.
It was about seven when we setoff.
SPEAKER_02 (03:14):
No.
Okay, so the original plan wasThursday the 25th.
SPEAKER_01 (03:22):
Or sixth.
It says it on the generary, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (03:25):
Thursday the 25th.
SPEAKER_01 (03:27):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (03:27):
I was going to work
my shift and then we were gonna
load up and leave when I got offwork.
Well, I just I had extravacation days, so I was like,
let's just, I'm gonna take theday off.
And um, so we could leave alittle earlier.
So instead of nine o'clock, well, it would have been 10
o'clock at night, oh uh past 10when we would have left, we left
(03:50):
at 5 in the afternoon.
Sister-in-law came over, weloaded up, and we set off now.
SPEAKER_01 (04:00):
We didn't stop till
we got to Bussies.
SPEAKER_02 (04:03):
The original No, we
stopped in Georgia to go to the
bathroom at the Georgia WelcomeCenter.
I'm not gonna go through everysingle stop that we did because
God, that would be we'd be hereforever.
So we're gonna highlight all ofthe places that we like stayed
the night and stopped andvisited attractions.
So the original plan was Jessewas gonna drive, and then I was
(04:26):
gonna drive while he slept, butwhen I drove, he what did I say
that wrong?
Jesse was gonna drive, then hewas gonna sleep while I drove.
But he decided to sit up frontwith me and and feed me because
we hadn't eaten dinner yet, so Iate some, we ate some
McDonald's, he fed me a big macand fries.
(04:47):
So then we get to Bucky's andwhat was it, Florence?
SPEAKER_01 (04:54):
Yes, yes, we got
Bucky's in Virginia.
It was above Florence, there's aBucky's.
SPEAKER_02 (04:59):
And uh, because
gotta stop at Bucky's, and then
it was sister-in-law Shelly'sturn to drive, where Jesse was
absolutely supposed to get somesleep, but he couldn't do it.
Then it was um, then he's like, get you a nap.
I couldn't do it.
SPEAKER_01 (05:18):
I took the wheel
again.
SPEAKER_02 (05:20):
He took the wheel
again, and then so I was gonna
drive again, my astigmatismkicked in, um, and panic driving
at night, everything was runningtogether.
I was like, I can't do this.
So sister-in-law took back overand took us on in to DC.
We've had no sleep, nobody,nobody.
SPEAKER_01 (05:41):
We're bucking up 95.
SPEAKER_02 (05:43):
That's a 12-hour
drive from here to DC.
And then we get to DC, and ourfirst stop was the Exorcist
Steps.
We did that before the break ofdawn.
That was awesome.
Yes.
The little neighborhood aroundit had these little steep
(06:03):
cobblestone hills.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautifullittle spot.
So then daylight approaches, andI'm gonna let you take the
wheel.
Oh we're driving around lost asfuck.
SPEAKER_01 (06:16):
I took the wheel
though.
I took the wheel after the thesteps, right?
And I'm I'm like, okay, cool.
It shouldn't be too packedaround the national monument.
So on our way back, we of courseseen the the uh cathedral,
right?
And we eased on down to theLincoln Memorial and we were
(06:36):
gonna check that out.
And they're they're renovatingall that, so it's all fenced in.
Um I screwed around and ran acouple of red lights and
everything, just just lost.
SPEAKER_02 (06:46):
Just I was we have
not gotten our toll bills in
yet.
Um and and hopefully we won'tget any traffic bills in from
the trip.
SPEAKER_01 (06:57):
The trip.
I did screw up a fingerscrossed, give us some uh good
juju on that.
Yeah.
Um and we we we wound up down inthe national mall area trying to
find a parking spot, but peopleshow up there and grab those
spots before daylight.
There's no way.
SPEAKER_02 (07:12):
We were in DC
driving around downtown before
daylight.
People are already running.
Uh we saw a rowing team.
SPEAKER_01 (07:23):
Yeah, they got dogs
out there, they're lizards,
they're walking theirchimpanzees and their one-legged
orangutan's.
And it was it was honestlythough, it was just packed,
completely, no parking.
And I was like, let's grab agarage.
Here's the garage I was wantingto.
No parking.
No parking.
So we rode around slow andchecked out all the the national
(07:43):
sites and all the cool stuff.
And um we were like, okay, we'regonna do something, you know,
while we're here at When we needto stretch our legs.
I mean, we've been right on theroad forever.
So we went to um Ford's Theater.
More history, more history,Abraham Lincoln history.
We actually got to see the gunthat shot Abraham Lincoln there,
(08:06):
and I'm gonna do a little storyabout that maybe next week or
so.
Oh my goodness.
That was just really cool to seeall that, you know.
SPEAKER_02 (08:15):
At this point, Jesse
and I have been awake for over
30 hours.
SPEAKER_01 (08:19):
We're zombies.
SPEAKER_02 (08:20):
I woke, so he goes,
what time did you go to work
that morning?
Between 4 30 and 5 a.m.
SPEAKER_03 (08:26):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (08:26):
I got up not too
long after him because I wanted
to make sure everything wasdone, laundry was caught up,
everything was packed, Silas waspacked.
Uh I had I had to do myeverything shower.
I had, yeah, so, and that takesa while.
And I was done with everything.
Oh, and then me and Silas had togo to Walmart.
(08:48):
Oh, I got my nails done thatday.
We had so, and then he and I hadlunch uptown, came back, um, got
everything.
We were ready with everything bythree o'clock, and then
sister-in-law showed up early,so that was nice.
We were done.
But it luckily, sister-in-lawhad um Shelly, she had gotten
(09:09):
some more sleep than us.
That's why we let her just driveus on into DC.
Because even though we wereawake, we weren't.
SPEAKER_01 (09:17):
We were zombies.
Yeah, we were so dead.
That was the hardest leg of thewhole trip, honestly.
From here on.
SPEAKER_02 (09:23):
That was the
roughest I've ever felt in my
entire life.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (09:27):
Now, if we were in
our 20s, you know, hey, you
know, that part really did makeus feel old for real.
We did the damn thing for ourage.
We we kicked ass.
Landed after DC in Philly.
SPEAKER_02 (09:40):
Hold on though.
Let me navigate us from DC toPhilly.
All right.
Still no sleep.
No sleep.
Um, it is a Jesse's got theitinerary here, so I'm gonna go
by that.
So it is a uh between Jesse overum overshot the time here.
(10:00):
So it says three hours Philly.
It was about two and a half.
SPEAKER_01 (10:03):
Yeah.
Well stops and whatever, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (10:05):
But it took us, it
felt like another entire day to
get there because we did stop acouple of times.
We got food.
So we got Wendy's.
We after we bathroomed, we gotWendy's.
I got a salad, I've mixed it up,I've put it to the side, but I'm
gonna feed him because he'sdriving us to Philly.
(10:25):
We're going through Baltimore.
You've eaten quite a few, he'shad quite a few chicken nuggets,
quite a few fries before that.
So I had a chicken nugget dippedin sweet chili sauce, ready to
go for him.
And then we go under theBaltimore tunnel.
SPEAKER_01 (10:46):
I seen it on her
face when she started seeing the
signs.
I really did.
And I'm over here like nom nomnom nom.
I'm like, wait a minute, I gotsome shit I gotta drive through.
SPEAKER_02 (10:54):
And if you if I
haven't mentioned it yet, your
girls got anxiety over, especially with bridges and
tunnels.
She didn't know about tunnelsuntil she knew about tunnels,
though.
And I'm not even reallybothered.
I've been through a plenty oftunnels in my life.
We've gone through and bridges.
SPEAKER_01 (11:10):
Yeah, you lived in
Atlanta, so it had kind of a
tunnelage.
SPEAKER_02 (11:14):
Well, we've driven
through that tunnel.
We've driven through uh a tunnelon the way to New Orleans.
Yeah, I have pictures of tunnelsand bridges that we've been
through.
I went over Seven Mile Bridge toKey West, but it's the high
bridges and it's the tunnelsunderwater that fuck with me
because it's the water thing.
SPEAKER_03 (11:32):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (11:33):
So while we're
driving under the water in
Baltimore, Baltimore Tunnel, Ihave uh an absolute panic
attack.
I could not breathe.
I blacked out, and mind you, nosleep.
I'm three Celsius in.
Well, we two, and then Jesse andI were had just cracked another
one open and we're sharing it.
SPEAKER_01 (11:55):
For real.
SPEAKER_02 (11:57):
I I think I honestly
think I had a mini heart attack.
Uh because after we went throughthe tunnel, I was fine.
My I I was I was mid mid-tierfine.
Um, I'm still holding on to hischicken nugget.
SPEAKER_01 (12:12):
For dear life.
You know, I'm like, I'm whiteknuckling because and I would
have been completely fine, but Iabsorb all that with her, and
I'm like, I'm doing this withyou because you're going through
this right beside me.
SPEAKER_02 (12:24):
So and that was one
that I I I could not control.
Sometimes I can control them.
That one just came on out ofnowhere, and it I could all I
could do is breathe through it.
Yeah.
Um, so yeah, we did that.
Baltimore Tunnel.
And um then it wasn't about 45minutes later, I had just
recovered from the heartpalpitations.
(12:47):
I had finished my salad, finished feeding him.
Then we get into Philly and haveto go over the Betsy Ross
Bridge.
Oh, Philly.
And sister-in-law has to bringit to light how old and rusty
this fucking bridge is.
And I literally just looked backand I was like, Shelly.
(13:08):
Lindsay wasn't having a goodtime, no.
SPEAKER_01 (13:11):
She was not, she was
not having a good time.
SPEAKER_02 (13:13):
But we finally get
into Philly and we're staying at
um the Renaissance, which is byuh Marriott Bonvoy.
It's beautiful, beautiful place.
Beautiful.
Um, the uh I guess he was uh washe the concierge?
Is that what you would call him?
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (13:30):
So he was so nice.
SPEAKER_02 (13:33):
We get we get
checked in.
We have to do valet parking, that way they can bring it back
to us.
So we have to empty out and wewhat I just felt like such white
trash with all of our mismatchedluggage.
Oh hey, we was ball on a budget,Lindsay.
All of our eyes are except forSilas, who slept through most of
(13:55):
everything.
SPEAKER_01 (13:55):
He was he was fine.
He was he's new boot goofing.
And you know what?
I I wasn't gonna pay for ballet,and I was like, I don't even
want to park this van.
I don't want to be in it nomore.
I was like, dude, park my shit.
I'll give you a big one.
SPEAKER_02 (14:12):
It was like 70
bucks, too.
SPEAKER_01 (14:13):
Check my wallet,
whatever.
SPEAKER_02 (14:16):
So we get checked.
We're loading up all of ourextra separate bags.
I mean, it's it's a lot.
We got a lot of shit becausewe're packed for nine days.
Yeah.
Um the whole wardrobe.
Uh yeah.
I mean, this is the longestwe've ever been away from home.
And even like when we have beenaway from home just a little
(14:36):
bit, you know, when we go on acruise, like we take enough for
those days.
We don't we don't we don't givea fuck what our what our shit
looks like because we're gonnaunpack it and we live there for
a week.
SPEAKER_01 (14:45):
I have to say, you
and you and I we're seasoned on
that though.
We're we were ready, but I kindof want one more sip.
Yeah, you should.
I think it's got her giddy overhere.
I love it.
But we're seasoned on it, butnot for that long, and being
zombies showing up.
It's it'd be but it's beautiful.
Like I think I did a good jobpicking all the rooms and stuff.
SPEAKER_02 (15:07):
Oh, yeah, yeah,
yeah.
Well, but here we go.
So our concierge happen to befrom Florida.
Um, and so the first room thatwe go check into has one
king-sized bed.
unknown (15:20):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (15:21):
And Jesse's like,
what the fuck?
SPEAKER_03 (15:23):
Oh no.
SPEAKER_02 (15:24):
And like, and and
we're so tired that our brains
cannot compute how to functionanymore.
And I'm like, all right, I gotlike I gotta hold this together.
I'm like, Jesse, go downstairs, ask him if we can we we we gotta
switch rooms, or if not, we needa cot.
SPEAKER_01 (15:42):
So I was kind of
dude flirting.
I went down there and it tookwhat 30 seconds.
SPEAKER_02 (15:47):
He's like, I was
like, nobody unpack.
Yeah, let's roll, let's have ourshit ready to roll.
And we did.
Jesse's like, all right, we'removing to this room.
We got our shit, we gathered itup, moved to the next room,
which was accommodating for us.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (16:02):
I mean, I I did give
him all my charm, Lindsay.
I feel guilty.
SPEAKER_02 (16:05):
That's good.
Do that.
That's okay.
SPEAKER_01 (16:10):
You got it, you got
us a room.
Well, I mean, this is just likeI'm I'm kind of confessing now
because I really did, because Iwanted it to be right.
That is okay.
But I did, I did the wholething.
SPEAKER_02 (16:20):
Yeah, the hair right
there.
SPEAKER_01 (16:21):
Oh, I probably it
was that hair that made it
happen, I think.
I think it was that one.
And it was over here waving inthe breeze, and he's like,
You're hot.
And I was like, Oh yeah?
He didn't say that, but I was II actually did.
I was like kind of laid on thickto make it happen.
But he made it happen.
SPEAKER_02 (16:36):
Meanwhile, we get to
our new room.
My heart has still not stoppedpalpitating, so it was hard for
me.
So hit Jesse and Shelly passedout immediately.
I'm trying to keep Silas.
I'm trying to keep Silas quietbecause he was asleep, so he was
wide awake.
I'm like, watch some TV, letthem nap so we can have a few
(16:57):
minutes to go around town.
And uh, and then you know, Daddyand I wanted a drink at the bar
later.
For sure.
So they I let them get a coupleof hours in.
I got maybe 30 minutes um ofgood, like passed out sleep.
And then I was like, all right, let's do this.
Let's get let's go around town, let's take some pictures, and
(17:17):
then we'll uh door dash our foodthat we which was going to be,
hold on.
You didn't put it on here.
SPEAKER_01 (17:27):
No, it was like,
okay, the world's most iconic
where Philly cheesesteaks wasinvented, supposedly, which was
actually a hot dog stand inPhilly.
So we had it door-dashed up tous.
SPEAKER_02 (17:38):
And it was terrible.
Oh no, okay.
I'm not gonna say terrible.
SPEAKER_01 (17:41):
We're gonna we can't
say terrible because but six out
of ten on on Philly Cheesesteaklevel.
SPEAKER_02 (17:47):
Give it a six steel
in Philadelphia.
SPEAKER_01 (17:49):
In Philadelphia.
I think they just mastered itlater on, and these guys just
stuck with what they created.
SPEAKER_02 (17:56):
Well, okay, so the
presentation was great, it was
huge.
The Philly cheesesteak, thefries were amazing, but guess
what?
And I had made notes in theorder to please give us mayo and
ketchup.
We had no mayo, no ketchup, andour tired ass brains, and Jesse
and I have now partaken in acouple of drinks from the bar.
(18:17):
Our fried brains could notcompute, hey, maybe the bar will
have mayo and ketchup.
And so we just ate that shitdry.
SPEAKER_01 (18:26):
Yeah, we could have
gone down and got anything.
SPEAKER_02 (18:29):
But Shelly was smart
enough after we were done
because we were starving, wewere tired, we were a little
buzzed.
Shelly was like, Silas, go grabus some mayo from the bar, and
I'm like, oh fuck.
Bitch.
Bitch.
SPEAKER_01 (18:42):
Bitch.
And we had we had just we walkeddown, we checked out
Independence Hall, everything.
I mean, I'm telling Silas aboutall the American history stuff,
you know, Lindsay and I aretaking pictures, we've seen the
Liberty Bell and all the coolstuff.
But it's even hard to recall itat this point.
We've got pictures.
We got pictures to recall it,but we were zombified.
(19:04):
Still, even after our littlepower nappy.
SPEAKER_02 (19:07):
So then we snoot, we
shower, we snooze for the night,
we get a good night's sleep.
Probably.
Very good.
Because we went, we still wentto bed by like nine o'clock,
which is early for all of us inthat room.
So on the next uh the nextmorning, we get up, we get our
(19:29):
car back, we load it up, and wehead towards the Rocky Stairs,
which was for me.
I've been a Rocky fan my wholelife.
SPEAKER_01 (19:36):
Yeah, we did the
Rocky Stairs after that, or
before that in DC.
We didn't.
SPEAKER_02 (19:40):
What are you talking
about?
SPEAKER_01 (19:42):
Philly after we left
Philly.
SPEAKER_02 (19:43):
Jesse, we got up in
Philly and went to the Rocky
Steps that are in Philly.
SPEAKER_01 (19:48):
What are you talking
about?
The Rocky Stairs were in DC.
We did that the the the morningbefore.
SPEAKER_02 (19:52):
I'm taking
everything off.
SPEAKER_01 (19:53):
The morning before.
No, we didn't.
See how zombified we were?
SPEAKER_02 (19:57):
No, Jesse, the
exorcist steps were in
Washington, D.C.
Yes.
The Rocky Stairs were inPhiladelphia because that's
where it's filmed.
SPEAKER_01 (20:04):
So maybe I'm I'm
that I'm that zombied right now.
I am.
Holy shit.
I'll tell them about the RockyStairs.
SPEAKER_02 (20:12):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (20:12):
So she said stairs,
and I went back to the Exorcist
stairs.
SPEAKER_02 (20:17):
You told him that
Silas and I both made a TikTok.
He went back to the city.
SPEAKER_01 (20:20):
Oh yeah, Silas.
She's she's yelling at mebecause she went to go pee pee.
Um, dude, we were so it's at ahuge museum in Philadelphia.
And I got up that we got up thatmorning, and I was like, we we
need to do that for sure.
We were going to do like theFresh Prince basketball court
and all that stuff becausethat's DNA, right?
(20:43):
But we're driving around to tryto find parking in that area,
and everybody's runningeverywhere.
And apparently they have like aRocky run that's fixing to be
happening, and people are likepracticing or whatever.
Could not find parking thereeither.
And I'm like, here we go again.
We're doing the same thing wedid in DC, we're in Philly, and
(21:03):
I want to check out these stairsbecause you know we we love
Rocky.
Actually, I think Lindsay lovesRocky way more than me.
She's like the hugest Rocky fan.
I found parking around back, could have found it for free,
but I didn't know it untilafterwards.
We paid like$30 to park there.
SPEAKER_02 (21:21):
That was the most
expensive parking.
It was$40.
SPEAKER_01 (21:24):
It was$40?
$40.
For like 30 minutes.
But yeah.
I was like, maybe we can walkthrough the museum and go there
without having to go all the wayaround.
But the dude's like, no, youhave to walk around the
building.
So we're walking around thebuilding, and mind you, this
whole trip, my sister wasattacked by a hurricane a year
(21:45):
before this.
SPEAKER_02 (21:46):
Literally a year.
SPEAKER_01 (21:47):
She was literally
attacked.
A tornado came through, orhurricane, or I think it was
probably a tornado in thehurricane.
SPEAKER_02 (21:54):
It was during a
hurricane.
SPEAKER_01 (22:02):
So trooper she was.
She's had surgery, knee surgery,so she's gimping along trying to
keep up.
And we're we're kind of halfhalf-assed making fun of her,
but in a fun way.
We had to walk around this hugemuseum.
It's beautiful on the outside.
I wish that'd have had anotherday in Philly.
Or two.
God, you could do two days inPhilly for sure.
SPEAKER_02 (22:23):
We could have made
this a 40-day trip.
SPEAKER_01 (22:25):
Yeah.
Like we were just saying.
It was a month-long trip that wewrapped up in eight days.
Honestly.
Lindsay's back.
She tinkled.
Hi.
Um, so we got to the front ofthe uh the museum, which is
beautiful, Greek motif.
All the the cool artwork, andthen Rocky, of course, he's
doing his thing.
And I'm all like, you check outour socials, because I'm all
(22:46):
like going like this at him.
And Lindsay's like, she's like,this is her.
SPEAKER_02 (22:50):
I can't believe that
you thought that was in Philly.
SPEAKER_01 (22:52):
Well, well, uh, the
stairs and DC.
I mean in DC, yeah.
Well, I got confused because yousaid stairs and he has not been
as obsessed with the Rockyseries as me.
SPEAKER_02 (23:05):
And I know all about
it.
SPEAKER_01 (23:06):
That's what I was
saying.
Well, I got confused because ofstairs and zombieisms.
I I really feel like Night ofthe Living Dead still has not we
we kind of recoup recouped afterwe left Philly, really.
We really solidified our restand everything the next night.
SPEAKER_02 (23:25):
But we still had to
truck forward.
So after the Rocky Stairs, we'relike, all right, Jesse had it's
a it's another five hours to ournext stop for the night.
Yeah.
Um, so but Jesse made a littlestop for us at so we had to get
on the Jersey Turnpike after weleft Philly and um we went to
(23:48):
Black Tom Island, which you cansee all of New York from or New
York City, Manhattan, and theStatue of Liberty because we're
not gonna be in New York Cityfor a few more days, but when we
get there, we're not gonna go toum Liberty Island, we're not
gonna go to the Statue ofLiberty, so we wanted to get
(24:10):
that view so Jersey Turnpike toBlack Tom Island, we get some
picture, we take a break, westretch our legs, we get to see
a viewpoint of New York City, areally good one, and then the
the Statue of Liberty, and thenwe have to we have to drive
through New York City to get toour next destination.
(24:32):
Just a little bit.
Just a little bit.
SPEAKER_01 (24:34):
Just a little bit,
but I yeah, I wanted to say real
quick.
I think Black Tom was perfectbecause you actually had to walk
up to that spot where you seenthe Statue of Liberty.
It was gorgeous, and you seenBrooklyn and and Manhattan
Island.
You got the chance to soak allthat in before we got in it.
It helped.
A few days.
That's that's it really helped.
The whole plan in my brain, which there's nothing in there
(24:57):
most of the time.
But the whole the whole plan wasokay, you get to see a statue of
livery, but that that wholescene of all of that, you had
you got the whole spectrum, andyou kind of soaked in a little
bit.
I think from then on, you stillhad a few anxieties, some, some,
some stuff, but it was nowherenear as bad for the rest of the
trip.
SPEAKER_02 (25:18):
But guess what?
Yeah, like you said, uh, 30minutes later, we're on the
George Washington Bridge.
Go ahead and look that up ifyou've never been there.
Oh, yeah.
Um, it has an upper and lowerlevel, and it was dead stop
traffic for a while, and Ididn't have an anxiety.
See?
See?
I was okay.
Um, so then we so we go throughthat part of New York City to
(25:41):
get through, so we got to drivethrough Connecticut.
We're on our way to Norwood,Massachusetts.
SPEAKER_01 (25:48):
Uh where we're pike
was beautiful in the
Connecticut.
SPEAKER_02 (25:51):
Oh my god, that was
the prettiest ride.
Yeah.
Period.
Loved it.
Uh, other than Pennsylvania.
But we'll get there.
SPEAKER_01 (25:57):
For me because of
past history and my life where
I'd been on it before, but I wasjust like, oh my god, I'm
actually here again.
Holy shit.
This is so beautiful.
SPEAKER_02 (26:05):
Everything's
starting to foliage.
Yes.
Um, it's beautiful.
I mean, like, great ride, butit's a long ride.
So um, Shelly does take over fora little while because Jesse
knew that when we got to thatarea, I I can't do it.
Um, because you really don'tknow when the next bridge or
tunnel is coming.
And it's dangerous for me todrive with the panic attacks
(26:29):
that can happen out of the blue.
I did not have another one likethe one through Baltimore Tunnel
the rest of the trip.
But who wants to risk that?
I mean, what if I'd have blackedout while we were, you know?
SPEAKER_01 (26:41):
It might have been
Rocky that kind of brought you
through all that, man.
SPEAKER_02 (26:44):
Well, okay, so when
we were in Philly, I looked up
all the bridges that we weregonna have to or possibly cross
the rest of the trip so that Icould go ahead and be prepared.
And there was a lot.
Um, now the Benjamin FranklinBridge kind of haunted me.
(27:05):
I was like, that's the biggestbridge I'd ever seen in my life
up until that point.
And we did not have to crossthat, but we did have to cross
other ones that were just asbig.
So the next day, um, like Isaid, we're going uh we're going
through Connecticut and uh I letShelly pick um what she kind of
wanted for dinner.
(27:26):
She said, Can you try and findus an Italian place?
Because we were staying inNorwood, Massachusetts.
We get checked into where wasthis at?
Um, the courtyard by Marriott.
Very nice place.
Um, they had a bar.
unknown (27:42):
Of course, awesome.
SPEAKER_02 (27:44):
And I had found an
Italian place in the area that
had great reviews.
Now, when you get there, it kindof looks like a hole in the wall
because you have to go throughthe side door entrance because
the front dining room wasclosed.
We walk in there, the vibe isexceptional.
SPEAKER_01 (28:03):
10.
I give it.
SPEAKER_02 (28:04):
And we walk through
a 15.
15 out of 10.
Oh, yes.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (28:09):
Okay.
Boom.
Dude's playing guitar, right?
Right in front of us.
The only table that's available.
SPEAKER_02 (28:16):
Right in front of
him.
SPEAKER_01 (28:17):
Front row.
And I'm over there like, let memake some love to this dude real
quick because he's kicking asson the guitar.
And he was.
Made a little love, dude.
Started playing what?
Right after we got in there.
He started playing fucking Toolright after that.
He's like, dude, I see yourguitar pick necklace.
And I don't know.
I always wear this little Gen Zguitar pick necklace.
SPEAKER_02 (28:36):
And I have one too,
but I can't wear necklaces every
day because of who I am as aperson.
SPEAKER_01 (28:41):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (28:42):
I I'll I'll yank it
off at some point.
SPEAKER_01 (28:43):
So he's like, You're
you're you play guitar, you're a
rocker, right?
And I was like, Well, yeah.
I was like, you know, I'm in aband, I usually get played to
perform, I get paid to perform.
He's like, so do I.
I was like, I can tell that.
And I walked up and I gave himsome money and said, you know,
my son would love to play.
But before that happened, we hadordered drinks.
SPEAKER_02 (29:00):
What did our server
say?
Oh, I got a full bye.
SPEAKER_01 (29:07):
So I'm in love.
I'm in love.
I got a full bye.
SPEAKER_02 (29:11):
She was perfect.
She was amazing.
SPEAKER_01 (29:17):
You ever see the
cool servers, and you're a
server?
So the ones that like lay allthe way over the table, they're
like in your shit, and they'relike, Loved her.
Let me tell you about this andthat.
And then they're they're they'reenveloped into our little
experience.
And it was, it was it was great.
So got I got the the the music.
I already have that taken careof.
Me and him are best buds.
(29:38):
He's gonna take care of Silaslater on, right?
And Lindsay's gonna tell youabout that because I'm gonna
step over here real quick, andthen I gotta go pee.
SPEAKER_02 (29:46):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (29:46):
Oh, how's that?
SPEAKER_02 (29:47):
So I'm gonna finish
the spot real quick.
No, I love it.
I'm ready.
I'm ready because I'm gonna tellthem about our food.
In any pot our whole experience.
You haven't.
SPEAKER_01 (29:57):
So go on.
Am I allowed to do that?
SPEAKER_02 (29:58):
Bye.
SPEAKER_01 (29:59):
Is it my turn?
SPEAKER_02 (29:59):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (30:00):
Tell them about the
full bye.
SPEAKER_02 (30:02):
I'm gonna tell him
about the full buy.
SPEAKER_01 (30:03):
You tell them about
the whole thing.
I'll be right the fuck back.
I do have to tink, tink, tinky, tink.
Let me get out.
I can't even get out from thishole, dude.
Maybe I should just pee onmyself.
No?
Okay.
SPEAKER_02 (30:14):
We'll get Jesse a
toilet right here at the table.
SPEAKER_01 (30:17):
I may refill this
because I don't have a full by,
but I got a bye.
SPEAKER_02 (30:21):
Hmm.
SPEAKER_01 (30:22):
Try it.
It got better.
SPEAKER_02 (30:24):
No, I'm done.
Done with bourbon.
Okay, so we're at Cafe Venice.
We've got an amazing server.
They got a full bye.
And um, so Jesse and Shellyorder uh Long Island iced tea.
Silas gets a root beer, I get awhite claw, and they bring me a
glass with ice for it.
(30:45):
And I've never had that before.
I've ordered seltzer's manyplaces, never get a glass with
ice for it.
Didn't intend on using it, but Iwas like, why not put it on
there?
And then Jesse gave me like hischerries and shit and stuff.
So I made myself a littlecocktail.
So then we order um the LongIsland style calamari, which was
(31:07):
if you've ever had calamari, youain't had it like you had it in
Norwood, Massachusetts.
So they did a butter, it was hadfried calamari with butter
garlic and peppers.
That is called Long Islandstyle.
It was delicious.
Then Jesse orders the lasagnaand so does Shelly.
(31:29):
I get veille parmesan because Ihaven't had veille parmesan in
years, and I've never had itbetter than my Aunt Catherine
made it, who is fromJacksonville.
I stayed with her a summer.
She changed my life.
That's a whole different story.
So Jesse gets his lasagna, lovesit.
(31:50):
My ville parmesan.
Tell them about my villeparmesan.
SPEAKER_00 (31:55):
Ten tits.
All the tits.
SPEAKER_02 (31:58):
Well, Silas gets
asked to come play guitar for
their audience right there inCafe Venice.
And um, he ordered a meatballsub.
So he plays a couple of songs, come back, eats his dinner.
We get a nice little um, likeeverything is good.
We get a nice little buzz.
We get uh we have our dinner, and a very, very sweet woman who
(32:23):
had special needs come up andtalked to us.
Her favorite color happened tobe purple, too.
So we had she loved my nails, she loved my uh the outfit I had
on that day had purple in it,right?
SPEAKER_00 (32:34):
It did.
Yeah, that's my favorite.
SPEAKER_02 (32:36):
Yes.
And she No no no.
I was wearing pink that day.
She loved my nails.
That's right.
And I had on because I had onpurple though.
SPEAKER_01 (32:43):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (32:44):
I was wearing my um
my um ghost face that says, No,
you hang up.
He's on the phone.
Yeah.
And with my pink, with my pinkcargo pants, I love that outfit
from American Eagle.
My God, so comfortable, greatfor driving, because I knew we
had to drive a lot that day.
So um we have a great experienceat Cafe Venice.
(33:04):
Our servant was amazing.
She was also because the nextday we're going to Maine, and
the next day she was going toMaine.
So it was like, it was reallycool how a lot of things tied in
together.
SPEAKER_01 (33:14):
Of course,
everybody's following my little
itinerary, which has it's it'sway longer.
The hours and the trips and allthat, because I I'm trying to
adjust for like time, traffic.
So, what I had for four hours,we were actually in Maine in
two.
SPEAKER_02 (33:29):
Okay, so the next
morning we get up, we got to
drive through Boston.
Oh, yeah.
Now, our original plan was to goto Boston for a little while,
but we had made sure that we gota good night's sleep before our
trek to Maine the next daybecause we wanted to spend a
little time in Maine.
So we decided to not stop inBoston, but we had to drive
(33:52):
through it.
And guess what?
Tunnel, bridge, tunnel, bridge.
But your girl made it, noproblems.
And then there was probably twomore bridges on the way to
Maine.
SPEAKER_01 (34:04):
Might I add real
quick?
One of the tunnels wentunderneath one of the tunnels.
It did.
She actually was trooping onthat one, though.
She was a trooper on that one.
I was like, I didn't say shitbecause I was like, I'm in it.
I was ready.
I was prepared.
We came out of a tunnel, wentacross the bridge, and then went
under the same fucking tunnelthat we were just in.
SPEAKER_02 (34:24):
That was the biggest
bridge I've ever been over in my
life.
Um, yeah.
That was bigger than the GeorgeWashington Bridge, bigger than
Phillip than the Betsy RossBridge, the Boston, uh, I think
it's the Tobin Bridge.
Um I don't know.
That one in Jacksonville thatgoes really down steep, that
(34:46):
one's a motherfucker.
I don't know what bridge thatis.
You know what I mean?
It's steep when you're goingover it.
SPEAKER_01 (34:52):
Butler Bridge?
SPEAKER_02 (34:53):
It might have been
the buttons.
I don't know.
That one is what started myanxiety over bridges a long time
ago.
SPEAKER_00 (35:01):
That's the Matthews
Bridge.
Matthews Bridge, yes.
SPEAKER_02 (35:03):
Take it to the
Matthews Bridge! Check out the
Matthews Bridge.
SPEAKER_01 (35:06):
Okay, so he says it
in it.
SPEAKER_02 (35:09):
We get to.
So this was a two, uh, it wasactually uh about an hour and 15
minutes.
Uh Jesse had four hours, but itwas our whole driving experience
that day was about four hours.
SPEAKER_03 (35:22):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (35:23):
So it was about an
hour and 15 minutes.
We get to Portland, Maine.
It's beautiful.
What was the name of the park, the first park that we went to?
Hold on, let me look reallyquick.
Jesse talk.
So it was it was um I've got ittime stamped or the Portland
(35:45):
Head Light.
SPEAKER_01 (35:45):
It's it's probably
the name of the park.
So I'm gonna look up it's themost iconic lighthouse and
photographed and photographedlighthouse in the world.
Um if you look up lighthouses, you're gonna see it.
And we showed up to it, youknow, and of course, poor
Shelly.
(36:06):
She's she's hobbling, dude.
We had to park in the overflowparking because the whole park
was just slam full of people.
Beautiful.
And I was like, I know when whenI get up here and I crest over
this hill, it's gonna be themost iconic site that Lindsay's
ever seen, as far as beauty anda lighthouse and all that.
To take it in, the pictures donot Fort Williams Park.
(36:28):
Yes, the pictures do not dojustice, but you can find it on
our socials.
SPEAKER_02 (36:32):
We did we're gonna
yeah, I'm gonna post all of our
pictures when this episode comesout, which will be Thursday, um,
October something.
Um, so it's Cape Elizabeth.
The park that you go to is FortWilliams Park, and it is the
most picturesque cape andlighthouse that you've ever seen
(36:52):
in your life.
The pictures that I took equaledthe postcards that they were
selling.
Right.
It was I could have sat thereand just watched the waves hit
these rocks on this cape thewhole day for forever.
Like, I I could if I didn't haveresponsibilities, if I was a
(37:14):
drifter, that's where I wouldlive.
She showed up, she's like, forthe first time.
Men forever.
SPEAKER_01 (37:21):
No, I literally took
a picture of Lindsay taking
pictures because that was sobeautiful to me.
And I was just taking that in.
I was standing behind you and Iwas like, look at my wife, she's
so beautiful.
Like, I'm I'm tearing up rightnow, just thinking about it.
Of course, I had a picture ofher ass.
Of course.
SPEAKER_02 (37:37):
And then we get a
really nice couple to take a
picture of us, which is one ofmy favorite pictures that we
took the entire trip.
And um, we took pictures ofthem, of course.
Well, I did, because Jesse'slike, nah, I'm not, he's not a
good picture taker.
So I do my best, I put effortinto it.
SPEAKER_01 (37:54):
And that's cool
because I I can goof boot about
me sucking about takingpictures.
So out of one of one out of ten, okay, ten being the best, how
nice was fucking everyone onthis whole trip.
Yeah, I can't, I can't, I can'tdeny.
SPEAKER_02 (38:11):
No, we had not one
rude person, period.
SPEAKER_01 (38:16):
No, no, the entire
crossing mass hole driving,
really.
SPEAKER_02 (38:20):
We did get honked at
a few times in in Massachusetts.
Like, as soon as the light turnsgreen, you gotta go.
Yeah, and they're bot becausethey're honking at you.
SPEAKER_01 (38:28):
That's part of our
uncultured asses being up in New
England area that we haven'tever really experienced a lot
of.
And it was just like it was newto us, but other than that,
everyone that we were in contactwith.
SPEAKER_02 (38:41):
Like, I'm gonna put
this in the socials, but I'm
just gonna show you that.
Like, look at that.
unknown (38:47):
Oh, yeah.
Look at that.
SPEAKER_01 (38:48):
That's so awesome.
And even even when we're inPhilly, like the dude told us
all about Gettysburg.
SPEAKER_02 (38:55):
Oh, yeah, we forgot
about that.
The bartender gave us two spotsto make sure that we went to in
Gettysburg.
We only we chose one of the twothat he recommended, and we
loved it.
But we'll get there.
SPEAKER_01 (39:06):
We'll talk about
that.
But it was just like everyone isso fucking nice.
Why?
I mean, even in Florida, youdon't get that that level of you
don't, I don't think we getthat.
That was a level there.
It's so welcoming, it was justreally nice, and I I enjoyed
that part of it.
We needed it because we werehanging on to dear life in a few
spots there.
But after, honestly, afterPhilly though, everything got
(39:30):
better.
And and that Italian restaurantwas amazing that you talked
about while I was tinkle tinkle.
And so now we're checking outthe most amazing lighthouse I've
ever seen, and I had more plansto go to another set of
lighthouses, also.
SPEAKER_02 (39:43):
So we went to two,
so after um the top oh my god, I
then lost it.
Where was it at?
Hold on one second.
Um after hold on.
SPEAKER_01 (39:58):
Oh, the Cape
Elizabeth.
Shh shh shh shh.
SPEAKER_02 (40:00):
Give me two seconds.
Okay.
I'm gonna take a second.
I'm going backwards.
I'm going backwards.
SPEAKER_01 (40:04):
All perfect.
Perfect.
The whole trip is perfect.
SPEAKER_02 (40:08):
So after the Thomas,
I'm coming, I'm getting there.
I remember it was Thomassomething.
Oh no, it wasn't Thomas anybody.
After the Fort Williams Park, wedrove down to two lights um
lobster shack.
Well, we did the state parkfirst because there was some
scenery there that is iconic.
(40:30):
I'm gonna share, like, even my11-year-old son was like, take a
picture of me doing thisposition.
Like I'm thinking.
Like and I'm gonna post that inInstagram stories.
Um, and Jess, and we've I'vealso got TikToks of everything
on drink about somethingunderscore or drink about
something pod underscoreLindsay.
And then Jesse has the sharedthem on his, and he's also
(40:52):
shared them on YouTube, correct?
Yeah.
So check out those TikToks.
But yeah, like it'sbreathtaking.
It's breathtaking.
It's words and pictures cannotdescribe that area.
And I'm gonna let you talk aboutit.
Go.
SPEAKER_01 (41:09):
Yeah, as far as like
the montage of everything, I
haven't put it all togetherbecause it was like 20-second
montages.
I'm gonna do like a good one onYouTube.
You know, we'll do it likeslower and make it where you can
see it fast because it was sofast on the but talk about the
lot what you taught me.
SPEAKER_02 (41:23):
Yeah, he's uh he's
he's the the the historian and
the the information bug here.
SPEAKER_01 (41:28):
We're at two two
lights, right?
And they had a military batteryset up for World War II there,
so we literally crest over topof a military bunker from World
War II.
I got a picture of Silas infront of it, and you can go
down, you can see where theturrets and for the big guns.
I mean, they used to have someepic fucking guns set up right
(41:48):
there, right there on thecoastline.
Walk on down, beautiful scenery.
This is prehistoric volcanicrock that we're walking on.
So 250 million years ago, therewas a huge volcano, plate
tectonics, and all the shit, probably around the dinosaur
area.
It's beautiful how it justlayers in, and we're not used to
(42:12):
that beach.
We're not used, we're Florida.
We're from Florida, so we'reused to Florida beaches, so I
mean the Gulf Coast or whatever.
It's it's different over there.
In some spots, it gets beautifularound St.
Pete area from St.
Pete South.
It gets beautiful.
SPEAKER_02 (42:26):
That's I grew up
having like my childhood, we had
a timeshare condo in this inTreasure Island, and that was
yeah, but my contrast but stillnothing as beautiful as what we
saw in Mainville.
SPEAKER_01 (42:41):
So it's a different
world, and we've seen beaches
all over the Caribbean, yeah.
And and I I I refer as the Gulfbeing like your big band area,
it's not really all that great, but St.
Pete Down, beautiful, Caribbean, beautiful, iconically beautiful,
but to see those rocks that arejust layered in there, the
(43:01):
volcanic rocks, ancient, it'sit's it's it's another world.
SPEAKER_02 (43:05):
And the water
hitting them and it's spraying
upward, it's just like oh,that's shit you only see in
movies, and I got to see it inreal life.
SPEAKER_01 (43:13):
Yeah.
It's like people have to pay forthat, and it's just right there
for them, and it was justamazing.
SPEAKER_02 (43:17):
And we had lunch at
the two lights lobster shack,
and so they had lobster rolls, crab rolls, other seafood.
You could get some basic asscheeseburgers, but who wants
that when you're in Maine?
And you could also order a wholelobster, uh, which we did not do
because we are bottling on abudget.
Um, Silas was not happy aboutthe fact that we did not get him
(43:38):
a whole lobster, but he got overit.
It's whatever.
SPEAKER_01 (43:40):
Yeah, pretext on
that though, like we were
looking at the menu board andlike, Silas, what do you want?
And then he decided to have alobster roll.
And buddy went in there, andthen of course they pulled out a
big ass fucking lobster right infront of him.
He's like, No, I wanted lobster,so he's melting down.
SPEAKER_02 (43:56):
$25 a pound, by the
way.
Yeah.
Market price.
SPEAKER_01 (44:00):
Now, you're getting
what you ordered.
No, I didn't order that.
And I was like, come on, dude.
You know, 11-year-olds, but itwas still it was amazing.
Lobster rolls there are amazing.
I could not afford a wholelobster there.
SPEAKER_02 (44:14):
I mean, we could, we
have money put aside, but it
would have literally dug intothe rest of our money for the
rest, and we we were only in daythree.
SPEAKER_01 (44:23):
We did so great on
this trip.
We're going to HHN.
SPEAKER_02 (44:26):
Yeah, we saved
money.
SPEAKER_01 (44:27):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (44:28):
Um, so next, after
we leave Portland, Maine, we go
back down to uh Hampton Beach,New Hampshire to stay the night
before we venture out for thenext day.
Now, the hotel was the oldestbuilding besides Lizzie Boyden's
house that I've ever stayed atin my life that I can recall.
(44:53):
Um what was it called?
The Hill Crest?
SPEAKER_00 (44:57):
The Hillcrest.
SPEAKER_02 (44:58):
We'll give it a
five.
Yeah, we'll give the hotel.
The hotel itself, five.
Scenery five, five stars.
No, no, no, no, not five stars.
SPEAKER_01 (45:06):
Um one out of five
out of ten, you'll give it.
SPEAKER_02 (45:10):
Yeah, I'll give it
five out of ten, but it's not
five stars.
SPEAKER_01 (45:13):
But balling on a
budget, it was it was perfect
because we watched the sunrisethat next morning.
SPEAKER_02 (45:19):
The best part about
the room was we did have a
balcony and we were and itlooked right at the ocean.
Uh, we walked down to the ocean,we walked down to the most of
their stuff is off seasonbecause we did go after Labor
Day.
SPEAKER_03 (45:31):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (45:31):
And our amazing
server in uh Norwood,
Massachusetts, had told us thatmost things were either closed
or um getting ready to close.
She said, She said pretty muchafter Labor Day, anything up
north is gonna is gonna closedown.
Yeah.
Um, but it was still it wasstill warmish weather, but but
(45:54):
it was beautiful, it was windy,it was nice.
So we stay in Hampton Beach, NewHampshire, and I've got to tell
you, so we decided to go to theWalmart the next day that was in
the excuse me in the area, so wecould get a few more supplies
before we get back to on theroad.
We wanted a tub for our dirtyclothes, things like that,
because like I said, on anine-day stretch.
(46:16):
Um you literally go from beachto Farmville.
It was wild.
Five minutes away.
It was two miles to the Walmart, two and a half.
And um, so we we did that whileSilas and uh Shelly got up, got
ready.
(46:38):
Jesse and I, we we we get up outof bed, we get going, we're
good.
They take a little bit.
Yeah, so it was good for us.
We went ahead and we got umfood, we went to Walmart, we did
all that taken care of before wegot on the road to where'd we go
next, Jesse?
Tell them about the fuckingsunrise, Lindsay.
The beautiful fucking sunrise.
Jesse and I.
(47:00):
So the night before, well, I wasyeah.
So the night before, uh, we putwe went to a little package
store and got some of John uhJohn Daly's seltzers, and we got
some white claws, and we sat onthe porch.
Jesse, after about two of them,he strips all down to his boxers
and is like, I'm chilling, I'mgood here.
(47:22):
I've got a video of him and hisboxers and sunglasses drinking
John Daly's uh with his pants.
John Daly's uh, what was it,raspberry lemonade seltzers?
I had to let my hair down alittle bit.
It was nice, it was, it was fun,it was good.
And I have to tell you, like theroom, tiny, claustrophobic as
fuck.
The balcony was great, but theshower, the water pressure in
(47:43):
the shower was the best that wehad the whole trip.
The water pressure in thatshower was that was the night
that I decided to do anothereverything shower because I just
felt like it, and I wanted to doit.
Um, but so we had seltzers, wegot food to go, so we could eat
on the balcony.
We got up at 5 a.m.
to watch the sunrise and watcheda shrimp bo.
(48:05):
Oh my god, it's beautiful.
I'm gonna put it in stories.
Um, we watched a shrimp boat doits thing.
Um, and I decided to put mymakeup on out on the balcony
because the weather wasgorgeous.
Yeah.
It was it was sweaty weather.
It was sweat of weather.
SPEAKER_01 (48:19):
It was nice, cool,
kind of brisk with the wind.
Shrimp boat, you can hear thedinging a little bit in the
background.
Lighthouses, you can see them inthe far, far distance.
Just the whole the the seasonwas was stripped down.
We we didn't we didn't find Iwanted to get the fried dough.
We didn't get the fried dough.
SPEAKER_02 (48:40):
We didn't, we were
full.
We just it felt like all we weredoing was sitting and eating.
And Jesse and I are used to alot of activity.
SPEAKER_00 (48:46):
We want to go.
SPEAKER_02 (48:47):
And uh uh we only
eat about two meals a day, and
um like our our our systems werefull to the brim, and so we we
we made sure we ate because wehad to.
Like he got a cheeseburger, Igot a salad, I got a Greek salad
from one of the little streetshops, it was great.
Um, but we did not, we we had noroom for the fried dough.
(49:07):
Yeah, um, so leave us a commentabout what fried dough tastes
like because I want to know.
I've heard about fried dough.
Send us some other podcasts.
I'll give you my address.
I was like, I'll send you a cakeif you send me fried dough if
you're from New Hampshire.
SPEAKER_01 (49:22):
Obsessed, or we were
we were listening to the case.
I got a peek again, and the guyswere talking about fried dough
on there, and I was like, dude,we got it.
It was last last podcast, Ithink it was, it might have
been.
Yeah, and the boys were talkingabout fried dough, and I was
like, dude, we need to try somefried dough, that would be
amazing, but we missed out onit.
But the whole the whole sceneryright there was just beautiful,
(49:46):
it was a perfect time because wedidn't need all of the tourist
bullshit with with everything.
And then the next morning, justwatching that sunrise with
Lindsay, it was a moment, it wasa great moment.
I was sitting on the on the backporch, and we were we're it's
(50:07):
just like a side porch.
You could see, and the sun cameup just perfectly right in front
of us.
Beautiful as fuck.
That was a great moment, romantic as fuck.
I just was ready for the nextday.
We got all packed up and thenwe're heading down, of course,
to Fall Rivers.
(50:27):
But before we did that,Lindsay's gonna come back
because she had to go tink tink.
She always has to go tink tinkright in the middle and put me
on the spot, dude.
I don't I don't know if I'mgonna fill this in correctly
without her feeling like she'smissing out on Salem.
So I'm just gonna say cheers.
(50:47):
And I'm I'm I'm out of myManhattan.
And I can't wait to share myManhattan story with you guys.
These cherries in here arefucking amazing.
SPEAKER_03 (50:58):
Get a little buzzed
already.
SPEAKER_01 (51:03):
So definitely
September, I feel like was the
perfect time for us to go up.
And if you don't want all thecrowd and all the stuff, they
they kind of had a lot of stuffstripped down, like I said.
But you still had enough thingsto do, and it was so much to
(51:24):
take in.
But going to Salem the nextmorning, we were just so excited
about that.
Lindsay was this was her thing.
She even got the hat to proveit.
I'm gonna let her tell thatwhile I'm chewing all these
cherries.
SPEAKER_02 (51:41):
Okay, so we leave
New Hampshire, and it's about
um, it was probably it was, Ithink it was 48 minutes total
from Hampton, New Hampshire toSalem, Massachusetts.
We drive through the town alittle bit, we see some side
roads and stuff because GPS kepttaking us on these little scenic
(52:04):
routes that we didn't ask for,but we liked them.
We we enjoyed it.
Beautiful.
And um, so we find a parkinggarage, and Jesse already knew.
I'm glad that he did that, heknew that.
Um you follow the yellow and redlines through the town to see
all the things that you want tosee.
(52:25):
So we stopped at Gallows Hill umand saw a little presentation,
which I I would like because wehave covered the Salem Witch
trials.
Go back like a year ago um inour catalog and check those out.
I made them as accurate as Icould find.
Um, so they did a littlepresentation on that, which I
(52:47):
appreciated because Silas didn'tknow a lot of that history, and
this was a good PG 13 way of himlearning that because he's 11,
he's got he's about to be 12,and so we're not completely
sheltering parents, but at thesame time, there's some things
you just need to be older tounderstand.
(53:08):
And this was a good littlepresentation.
So Gallows Hill is great.
Now you can go through Salem andspend a lot of money on museums
and haunted houses and things.
That was the main one we did.
After that, we just kind of wentaround town.
We took pictures of um the umthe bewitched statue, um, just
(53:29):
certain things.
The the the house from HocusPocus.
Uh, both of them.
There's two two houses that theyused, and the witch house, and
then the uh the the mansion thatthe kids lived in.
What else did we see in inSalem?
SPEAKER_01 (53:45):
Check that.
We um we went to Blackcraft.
Blackcraft.
Had to support them because theyhelped get me to Rockville.
But there were hold on, let melook through my pictures.
And uh you walk into Blackcraft,it's like checkered floors,
beautiful, it's laid outperfectly.
I I I follow them.
And then we walked to the to thewas it the courthouse area.
(54:07):
We walked down to thecourthouse, it's like downhill,
and that's where they had likethe trials in front of it and
all that.
We walked around all that.
And oh, we had an amazing mealwhile we were there too.
SPEAKER_02 (54:18):
So we went to Dire
Wolf Cafe because we love Game
of Thrones and we love us someDire Wolfs.
So we stopped in there to eat.
Our server was like, um, but thefood was great.
Jesse got steak tips with mashedpotatoes and some spinach, like
buttered spinach.
SPEAKER_01 (54:35):
So good.
SPEAKER_02 (54:36):
I got a kick-ass uh
sushi roll.
Silas got some um, he got somebasic mac and cheese, but it was
made with like the my favoritenoodles, the cantalini.
And I don't even remember whatShelly got.
She just got some basic chickentenders, didn't she?
SPEAKER_01 (54:51):
Sicken tenders, some
chicken tenders, some but that
was pretty good.
SPEAKER_02 (54:55):
And then we set off
on our journey to Fall River,
Massachusetts, where we stayedin the Lizzie Borden bed and
breakfast, which is the originalhome that the murders that
Lizzie was accused of happened.
SPEAKER_01 (55:17):
I didn't know.
Jesse didn't know.
Jesse didn't know.
SPEAKER_02 (55:21):
And we recorded our
episode about Lizzie Borden in
that house.
But first, um, because youcannot if unless you're doing a
museum tour, uh, well, I guessyou still can't, you can't check
into your room until 6 p.m.
Yeah.
If you rent a room through thebed and breakfast because they
do tours during the day.
(55:42):
And um you can do a full packageof the room, breakfast, and
museum tour.
We just did the night staybecause we had to go to New York
City the next day.
So and we had literally done, okay, so hold on one second.
So Salem is 48 minutes from umHampton Beach to or from Hampton
(56:06):
Beach to Salem, and then it'sanother two hours to the Lizzie
Borden house.
It was actually about an hourand 45 minutes to be exact.
Yeah.
The town of Fall River isgorgeous.
They have a beautiful river, ahumongous bridge.
SPEAKER_01 (56:22):
We came up on that
ridge, so we're we're a lot of
fall rivers down there near theriver, so we're on a ridge
coming into Lizzie's uh calledit Borden Street.
SPEAKER_02 (56:32):
It was Borden Road,
but it you it uh previously when
she lived there, it was I thinkit was called 92 Second Street.
SPEAKER_01 (56:39):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (56:39):
Or 192, something
like that.
Um, it's in our it's in ourepisode.
Check out our episode on that.
SPEAKER_01 (56:45):
The town is just
amazing, gorgeous.
We found some amazing foodthere, and we talked uh to the
guy next door at Lizzie's coffeeshop.
Amazing.
He had all the knowledge.
There was so much to do in thattown.
I wish we had more time.
All my biggest recommendationfind you a crew of people that
want to do some shit like thisand rent out the whole house.
SPEAKER_02 (57:08):
Yeah, because you
can rent out the whole house if
you have enough people.
Um, I think it sleeps 20.
SPEAKER_01 (57:13):
Yeah, and you can
afford it.
Uh-huh.
It was like 250 a room.
SPEAKER_02 (57:17):
So reasonable.
SPEAKER_01 (57:18):
Fucking reasonable.
Yeah.
Fucking amazing.
Fucking everything.
Fuck.
It was just, it was awesome.
SPEAKER_02 (57:24):
Um, the only thing
that you can't do is drink in
the home.
We had drinks outside of thehome.
Um, and you can't have Ouijaboards, but you can have spirit
boxes, yeah, and you you canhave things of that nature.
You can play games.
Like it's it was really cool.
And um they do have dummies laidout to where where Andrew was
(57:47):
hacked and where Abby washacked.
And it was really funny becausewe had the Lemmy and uh the
Lemmy, the Lizzie and Emmasuite, and um some guests had
rented out the the guest bedroomwhere Abby was slain, and they
were like, come look at this.
And literally on the other sideof their bed where they were
(58:08):
sleeping for the night was adummy of Abby covered by a
sheet.
Which I didn't walk in to seethat far in.
And just for for just for therecord, if you're at the top of
the stairs and you're notlooking over that bed, you can't
see Abby's body.
No, I was standing at thedoorway of the bed and couldn't
(58:30):
see it.
SPEAKER_01 (58:30):
No, I couldn't see
it at the door.
Because I told him, Don't comein here.
He didn't know yet.
I laid some podcast cards downon their bed for them to you
know check us out because theywere interested.
They were buds of ours.
We automatically connected witheverybody in the whole house,
and pretty much every room wassold out.
So all the people that werewalking around down there.
SPEAKER_02 (58:48):
Yeah, it was a full
house.
SPEAKER_01 (58:49):
Yeah, we're like all
best buds, though.
Silas made best buds with all ofthem.
SPEAKER_02 (58:53):
He Silas, uh, yeah,
he made uh well like I did put
this in the previous recap aboutLizzie Borden, but Silas made
friends with people who wereleaving to go to Salem the next
day, and we had just come fromSalem, so he talked to them
about that.
Like he's very social, and hewent through places of the house
that we didn't even go.
SPEAKER_01 (59:13):
He snuck and got the
VIP tour on his own.
He did, he didn't know.
SPEAKER_02 (59:18):
Um because he didn't
know, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (59:19):
Well, I was just
like, well, just tell him you
didn't know.
Right.
Because they opened up all therooms to all the every spot in
the house that you're supposedto pay for.
So I was just booked out and didit.
SPEAKER_02 (59:29):
And the shower that
they had in that house, um,
because you know, that'simportant to us as travelers.
We want a nice, a nice place towash.
It was really nice.
It was a dual head shower.
Um, the bathroom, of course, hadbeen added on later on in life
because they did not have thatwhen the Bordens resided in that
(59:51):
house.
Uh, they had a one flushingtoilet, which was in the
basement.
Yep.
Um, so they have addedbathrooms.
So there is bathrooms andRunning water and electricity,
which the Bordens did not get tohave.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:03):
Go and rent it with
your whole crew.
With your whole crew.
Get all your buddies togetherand rent the whole house, dude.
You will love it.
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:09):
Go have dinner down
at um Fall River Grill
beforehand.
Have some good drinks.
See Natalia.
She's amazing.
And then go back to your roomand have a good time.
And let me tell you something.
I slept like a baby in LizzieBorden's bed.
Sure did.
It was very comfy.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:26):
I wasn't feeling any
weird vibes there at all.
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:29):
Felt until no bad
energy.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:32):
Later on that we
felt some vibes, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:34):
So the next morning
we get up and we go to the
coffee shop where some and Idon't want to uh even now I know
now, but I did not know then.
Um I don't want to spoil thatthough, because if you want to
go to that area, go to thecoffee shop next door because
that family and that coffee shopis impeccable, yeah.
(01:00:54):
Great, and they have stories totell you that I will let them
tell you.
Yes.
And uh so we're getting ready togo to New York City.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:06):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:06):
Um I did do a get
ready with me in Lizzie's room.
I have not, it's in my drafts.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:11):
You gotta fuzzball.
Hang on.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:14):
I have not, uh I've
gotta I've gotta edit it.
I've gonna have to do avoiceover with our little
microphone because it was weird.
But I I want to put it outthere, but yeah, so stay tuned
for that on my TikTok.
Um, so we go to New York City.
Now, our original route wasgoing to take us over the
Triborough Bridge, which Jessepanicked about.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:38):
I was kind of
horrified over that one time
before.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:42):
But guess what?
Your found a different route, and we only went over the Henry
Hudson Bridge, which was notthat bad.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:50):
No, it was great
coming into New York.
Manhattan was coming in was youdid a great job on that one.
Thank you.
Thank you, Lindsay.
Look at you, look at you go overhere.
SPEAKER_02 (01:02:00):
Um yeah, so we get
in, we get into Manhattan around
three o'clock, and we can'tcheck into our room till four.
Or was it the out and thesegoobers are asleep as fuck in
the back.
All asleep.
SPEAKER_00 (01:02:12):
Like, yeah, nobody's
like, dude, we're in Manhattan.
SPEAKER_02 (01:02:14):
Where are like me
and Jesse like that?
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:18):
I had to actually
pull over and run the red light
because the cop, like, as soonas I got like my first real stop
there, dude's behind me with hisyou know, siren running.
I'm like, uh get to run this redlight, then get ahead of
everybody.
So that was cool.
And then we turn on, boom.
We're in the shit.
And Lindsay's not freaking out, which I was so appreciative that
(01:02:38):
you had taken all that in fromthe Tom Black Island and
everything.
Black Tom.
Black Tom Island.
I was like, she's not freakingout.
I love it.
I'm gonna be fine.
I just need to pay attention toall the shit because the traffic
lights, that's what got meearlier in DC and everything,
because the traffic lights arein different spots.
So I'm just paying attention toall the people walking, all the
stuff.
(01:02:59):
We pull up, boom.
They put our fucking van in avending machine that he's like,
just pull up and unload yourshit, right?
And I'm all like they were like,What?
What?
So how uncultured we are.
We're not used to that.
So we hurry up.
I finally woke up everybody inthe backseat.
We get unloaded.
SPEAKER_02 (01:03:19):
By the way, that was
a four-hour drive.
Oh, well, just under from LizzieBorden's house to New York City.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:25):
Yeah, wasn't too bad
because we we did more of that
parkway and everything.
It was it was phenomenal.
The coming in was perfect.
A little bit weirded out aboutthe car vending machine thing.
Got everybody woke up, unloadedreal quick, and then we
literally stayed at the OIO.
It was less than half a blockaway, so it was just like we get
(01:03:46):
out, walk a couple hundred feet,we're out.
SPEAKER_02 (01:03:48):
There's Times
Square.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:49):
We're right there.
SPEAKER_02 (01:03:50):
It's across the
street from the palace.
Now, we did have uh an initialissue with the room.
So first we get there, we can'tcheck in quite yet, but they
hold our stuff in a storage uhroom.
So we we walk around town and umthen we come back, we get
checked in.
But we wanted to get on, soJesse had paid for 48 hours on
the hop on, hop off bus, andtheir last bus ran at five
(01:04:14):
o'clock.
So we hurried down there, weturned the air on in our room,
we leave, we go to uh we make acouple of stops and we go to
Central Park.
We walk Central Park, well, notall of it, uh about half of it,
and then we walked probablyabout now I mean myself.
(01:04:34):
Oh wait, wait, wait, wait.
We went and ate a hot dog withKraut, a Nathan's hot dog with
Kraut in front of what museumwas that?
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:42):
Uh that was the
natural no, that was uh the
Metropolitan Museum.
Metropolitan Museum, the Met.
The Met.
So we went to the Met, and thenyou can cross, which is a
perfect track, honestly.
I've done it before.
You go to the Met, you crossover the Museum of Natural
History, right through CentralPark, and you get to see all
these iconic spots where it'sbeen in movies and stuff.
So it was really it was reallyfun to do that.
(01:05:04):
Lagging along, my poor sisterwith her knee.
But she did she did all right, you know.
And we were a little late toactually go into the lobbies and
check out a little bit because Iwas like, well, let's just walk
into the lobbies of these placesand we'll catch the subway back.
SPEAKER_02 (01:05:20):
But also, the there
was a government shutdown.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:23):
Oh yeah, well, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:05:25):
So there was limited
access to things like that,
anyways.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:28):
Yeah, maybe it was
and it, but we we we we did the
damn things, and I was like,we'll just cab it back.
SPEAKER_02 (01:05:33):
But we had a kraut
hot dog on the steps of the Met,
uh, walk through Central Park, and then we walked about three
more blocks, and then Shelly waslike, I gotta cab it.
But you know what was so fun forme walking in New York City, um,
just like down this randomstreet, is hearing everybody's
(01:05:54):
conversation as they walked by.
Because they lived there, likewhat you know, and people had
their groceries in one hand, uh,some people had their food for
dinner that night in anotherhand.
And it was that was just likecity life is so different than
ours.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:10):
Everybody's loud too
when they talk because they're
so used to all the noise aroundthem, so they're just loud
people, and I loved it.
Everybody was nice still, Iloved it, everybody was still
nice, still amazing.
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:21):
I can't I I I can't
even describe how much I love
New York City, and people thinkI'm crazy, but um, so we get
back to the room.
Now we had already peddledaround uh Times Square for a
little bit and did South andStreet performers, don't look
them in the eye.
Um they are there to hustle you.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:43):
Uh, real fast,
especially when you're and
hustle you for money.
Big dude with a cool shirt onand a straw hat looking standing
out, and they just like, no, youyou are definitely gonna be a
part of my performance.
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:54):
He had a horror
movie um Hawaiian shirt on and
with with his straw hat, andhe's eight foot six foot twelve.
So he got picked, and um, sothey were there, they're there
to hustle your money.
You know, if you don't want tobe hustled, don't look anybody
in the eye.
Like literally in Times Square.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:17):
They were like, boo
this guy, or you're gonna die,
or so they said something aboutbecause they had to jump over
top of like four dudes, right?
Very tall dudes.
And he's like, Well, putting youat the end, you're gonna die.
He's gonna fall on you.
I was like, dude, I ain't payingyou to be part of your show.
I'm part of your show.
SPEAKER_02 (01:07:32):
Yeah, you picked you
picked me.
You picked my husband.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:36):
I was asshole is I I
really did want to support him,
you know.
SPEAKER_02 (01:07:39):
We did, we did give
them money, uh, but not the
extra twenty dollars that theywanted.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:46):
So get that right.
I don't know.
Right.
SPEAKER_02 (01:07:48):
Yeah, we we had
already put money in one of
their buckets.
Yeah.
Um, and we were limited on cashanyways, uh, because we had put
that, like we had that hidden inspots that nobody needs to know
about.
That's well, that's what I toldhim.
I was like, that was in caselike tragedy, you know.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:03):
He was like, Where
are you from?
I'm like, I'm from Florida.
He's like, This guy's from ViceCity, yo.
I was like, I'm bowling on abudget.
I ain't finna pay you to be partof your show whenever I'm part
of the show.
Uh so but we did give them somemoney, and there's they did a
phenomenal show.
Yeah, it was really good.
Break dancing, flipping, allthat, Times Square.
It was like we showed up inManhattan, and the next day,
(01:08:24):
though, but wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:26):
What we got to talk
about the pizza that we had for
dinner that night.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:29):
Evening, yes.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:30):
So we went down,
okay.
So we get back to our room afterum Central Park and we get a cab
back.
Um, we get back to our room andit's still hot as fuck.
Oh, yeah.
So another nice front desk umhotel operator at the OIO gave
us another room.
Get in there, it's already cold.
(01:08:51):
We're like, okay, we're good.
Because I told everybody to notunpack anything until we figured
out what was going on with thisair conditioning.
And um our window looked rightoutside the door to the Palace
Theater.
It was very cool.
So we we get all of our stuff inthat room, we go back out and we
go have New York City pizza.
(01:09:12):
And oh my god.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:13):
Little Italy, right?
Was it was it called LittleItaly Pizza?
I think it's I thought it wasraised.
Was it Ray's?
It might have been Ray's.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:21):
It was one of those
two.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:22):
But it was iconic
New York.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:24):
So you pick out you
pick out from like several pies
that they already have cooked, and you pick out what you want,
and then they put it back intothe oven, the brick oven.
Oh my god.
That's how you can do it.
You don't need you don't youdon't need no ranch with that
pizza.
It's a little parmesan, a littlered pepper.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:47):
Phenomenal.
Phenomenal.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:49):
And then we go and
we have a good night.
No, we tried to have um at thebar downstairs, we tried to have
a long, we did have a LongIsland with$60 for two, and they
were terrible.
So don't do that.
Uh so we were like, you knowwhat, we're we're not gonna
drink in New York City becausewe did not like their Long
(01:10:09):
Island iced teas, and theydidn't have seltzers at the bar
downstairs from the OIO.
Um, and we were like, okay,we're good, let's go to bed.
So the next morning we get upand we're ready to do a full day
on uh the hop on, hop off bus.
And we go to the Krispy Kreme inTimes Square.
I got a pumpkin spice donut.
(01:10:29):
Jesse, what'd you get?
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:31):
I just got like a
cream-filled donut.
I don't know.
SPEAKER_02 (01:10:33):
And Silas got
phenomenal two different
sprinkle donuts.
I mean, crispy cream is thetits, but I just stop, hold on,
I'm gonna pull up my picture soI can timeline it.
Okay, okay.
Um, so our first stop in NewYork City.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:49):
It's a big red bus,
so we had 15 stops, I think, on
the on the the south side.
SPEAKER_02 (01:10:55):
That was the
downtown.
The downtown side, yeah.
We had gone uptown the nightbefore, downtown on uh, I think
it was Wednesday.
Is that right?
Yeah, on Wednesday.
So our first stop was the thatwe got off of.
Um we went we got off at thespot where we could walk to the
(01:11:19):
friends experience in New YorkCity, where you can go and look
at the set, you can take a tour.
We didn't do that.
We were we were kind ofscrubbing.
Uh we we were just lookingaround the building and this guy
was like, hey, it's free coffeeday in there.
So we're like, what?
So we go in there, we get freecoffee, we take a couple of
pictures, and then we walk backand we go and we're taking
(01:11:42):
pictures of buildings.
They give on the big red bus, they give you headphones where
you can listen to an audio ofeverything that you're about to
pass by.
Iconic spots, to, and then theytake you to the next spot, and
we went to first we did theEmpire State Empire State
Building.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:02):
Yeah, we walked into
that, that was cool.
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:04):
And uh then we did
Chinatown and had the best
Chinese food we've ever had inour life.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:12):
Ever.
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:12):
Ever.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:13):
Ever, period.
I don't think I'll ever findanything that good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:16):
And um I forgot the
name of it.
Hold on, let me look upShelly's.
She took a picture of it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:25):
Oh, the of the uh
restaurant in Chinese.
SPEAKER_02 (01:12:28):
Actually, I think I
saved it.
Hold on, from her profile.
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:31):
Everybody was just
so nice.
That was just what I can't getover.
And the food was amazing, eventhe carts, because we ate a few
times at the carts.
I didn't I didn't mind it a bit,and she wanted to do that.
Lindsay's already getting inlike so many things that she's
wanted to do in her whole life.
It was just phenomenal.
(01:12:51):
And I I I can't say it enough.
I kind of want to go backalready, even though I'm
completely done with New YorkCity.
SPEAKER_02 (01:13:00):
Hold on one second.
I'm gonna get you guys the nameof the restaurant because you
gotta go there.
You gotta go there and get yousome.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:08):
If you ever go
there, you gotta go there.
And do the big red bus for real.
Yes.
Get get both loops.
You need you really need threedays in Manhattan.
You know, you really need threedays.
SPEAKER_02 (01:13:18):
Uh a co-worker of
mine is about to go for a week
in Chris uh at Christmas time.
Oh, that'd be beautiful.
Yes.
unknown (01:13:25):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:13:26):
And um I'm getting
there, guys, I promise.
I'm getting there.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:29):
But are you getting
there?
Are you are you there now?
What about what about now?
SPEAKER_02 (01:13:33):
What about hold on,
we're almost there.
She's almost there.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:37):
Oh, wait a minute.
What about now?
unknown (01:13:40):
Shh.
SPEAKER_01 (01:13:40):
Oh.
There she is.
She's almost got it.
So we we needed a professionalphotographer to follow us around
because we're not going to beable to do so much, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:13:55):
Oh my god, where is
that?
Where is the I know she tagged, she tagged me in it and
everything.
Oh, I can go to my page, duck.
You could.
Or you could.
You shut your mouth.
You shut your mouth while you'retalking to me.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:05):
I will.
I'm almost done.
Like, I done drank my Manhattanand I'm still drinking some
Vista Bay.
I'm a little sloshy right hereon this.
Can I call this Drunk AboutSomething Recap thing?
Um what do we need to call it?
SPEAKER_02 (01:14:21):
I'm getting there.
I'm getting there.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:23):
So Yeah, because
we're fixing to give up on you.
SPEAKER_02 (01:14:25):
Okay, East Season
restaurant.
I found it.
I found it.
East season restaurant inChinatown.
Absolutely amazing food.
And they so you order everythingyou want, but they they present
it like sharing style, andthat's what we did because we
would have never finished allthat individually.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:42):
And we want some
Chinese food.
Yes, it was good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:14:45):
So then we hop back
on, and now let me go back to my
pictures to show my timeline.
And we go to the BrooklynBridge.
That was amazing.
I walked over half of it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:14:58):
Wasn't it?
SPEAKER_02 (01:14:59):
It was absolutely, I
mean, incredible.
And I also found the building umthat they used to show, which is
this one right here.
Let me show you.
Um, where Will lived, Will andGrace lived on Will and Grace.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:12):
Yeah, because they
were hanging out like in one of
the little corridors outsideeach other.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:15:16):
And uh I took
pictures of as many buildings as
I could because even the smallbuildings are gigantic.
Like it's it's insane.
So we went over the BrooklynBridge or halfway over it, and
then we went to the um WorldTrade Center and Twin Tower
sites and saw the InfinityInfinity Pools where they now
(01:15:37):
have what that's what's therenow instead of the Twin Towers
and the memorial we donated tothe memorial.
And then we we basically juststayed on the bus the rest of
its route until it took us backto Eminem World on Times Square.
SPEAKER_01 (01:15:53):
That's where you get
on and off, rather.
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:15:55):
That's that's like
the first stop for downtown.
And um, so then we decided towalk around.
Silas really wanted to getPopeye's chicken in Times
Square.
SPEAKER_00 (01:16:08):
He had to, dude.
SPEAKER_02 (01:16:09):
Because of little
Nikki.
And let me tell you, we will notgo to the Popeyes in our town
because the customer service ishorrible.
Okay.
Go to Popeyes in Times Square.
By the time I had pressed, soyou order at the at the kiosk.
By the time I had pressed sendand walked to the counter, they
had Silas's order ready, and itwas incredible.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:31):
I thought they
called him Sealus.
But yeah, that's fine.
Here's your shit, dude.
It was perfect.
They gave him all the the stuffthat he needed to go with it.
SPEAKER_02 (01:16:40):
Everything.
SPEAKER_01 (01:16:41):
You know, now no
attitude.
Nothing.
Just it was beautiful.
And he dudes just fresh hotchicken.
You know, here you go, Sealess.
He had everything he needed.
You go you go to Popeyes here, you don't even get a napkin.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:16:55):
And if you ask for
one, you get an attitude.
We haven't been I haven't beento our Popeyes in years.
Because it's just it's like Igo.
SPEAKER_01 (01:17:03):
I can't help it.
SPEAKER_02 (01:17:03):
I don't even I don't
want to deal with all that.
I don't like I don't want thatbad energy over my food.
But um, but I wanted a uh a aRuben from Adeli.
And so we let Silas get hischicken.
While he ate his chicken, Jessestayed with him and I went down
to the Sephora at Times Square, which was completely
(01:17:23):
overstimulating, I have to say,for me.
SPEAKER_01 (01:17:26):
Probably three
stories.
SPEAKER_02 (01:17:28):
Well, it so you
ride, so you go in and you ride
the escalator down.
I do have like a whole video ofthat, and also this was Times
Square Sephora, so everythingwas top-notch, top priced, and I
was still gonna get a littlesomething, but the mile, the
line was a mile long, and I waslike, no, and I was starting to
(01:17:48):
get hungry.
So we trekked on to the majesticdelicatessen where I got my
dream ruben with the bestcoleslaw I've ever had in my
life.
Dreamweaver.
Dream Ruben.
Yes, I can't see in aknickknack.
And guess what else they had?
(01:18:09):
They had big boy white claws, soI could get my little buzz on.
Because we were walking and wewere riding.
I didn't have to drive anywhere.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:16):
It was good.
I shared it with her.
It was very, very good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:18:19):
So yeah, it was a$30
Rubin, but it was this thick,
full of meat, delicious, andthen they also had spicy dull
pickle chips, kettle chips.
I mean, like, perfect spot forme.
And then we walked to the rock, walked all through that bitch,
because we had to find abathroom, because I gotta pee,
especially after I've had awhite claw, a big one.
(01:18:43):
Um, so we pee and Jesse andSilas go to the top.
Now, your turn.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:49):
Is it my turn?
Really?
SPEAKER_02 (01:18:51):
You talk.
I'm gonna go pee and grabanother drink because we still
got just a few more minutes oftalking here.
SPEAKER_01 (01:18:56):
Okay, okay.
So it's my turn.
Rockefeller Center, though, isiconic for Lindsay and I.
We can't help but just take itin.
I mean, Jimmy Fallon, SNL, SNL,everything.
We had we had to check all thatout.
You guys gotta go to the top ofthe rock, really.
(01:19:17):
Was it the rainbow room,Lindsay?
Yeah.
I went to the rainbow room, andSilas is just taking it in.
It's it's like 45 seconds.
You go to the top, and you're inan elevator, they have the top
of the elevator turns into likea little TV screen.
You know, it's like welcome tothe rock, you know.
And I took I took a video, Ithink I posted it.
(01:19:37):
And Silas's face, he's just likewide open, taking it in.
We show up at the top, we're onthe lower level, but we're on
the top deck, and there's likethree more levels that you can
go on up.
And but before we did that,we're we're panning around,
we're checking out.
You can see over 90% of the topof all the buildings.
(01:20:01):
So you're you're above 90% ofthe New York skyline in New York
City.
Looking right across, there'sthere's the Empire State
building.
Of course, my favorite in NewYork City has always been the
Chrysler Building.
So I'm checking all that out,all the lights.
We did it at nighttime, sobeautiful.
The girls are downstairs, mysister and Lindsay, and I was
(01:20:24):
like, dude, this is the bestthing I've ever wanted to do
because I've been in New York uha few times before this, um, New
York City, and I was just like,I need to go to the top of one
of these big buildings.
So I had a Manhattan, and whichis why we're drinking a
Manhattan now, on top of therock over Manhattan.
Styles is eating his MMs fromEminem World, and he's like, I'm
(01:20:47):
eating MMs and I'm on top of therock.
And he points over and I'mpanting around, taking videos,
walking around, hanging out, talking to some people, and
we're gonna head back downbecause I needed to meet up with
the girls down at the bottom.
Stilas is like, there's somestairs right here behind this
little rope thing.
(01:21:07):
He sneaks over and goes up thestairs.
I'm like, I don't think we'resupposed to go there.
And I was like, Well, this thinguh it fell apart, and I put it
back together.
It was like a little ropedivider thing for the stairs.
I sneak on in too.
I'm like, well, fuck it, he donedid the thing, so I'm gonna
follow him on up.
We went on up two more levels, and I'm taking all these amazing
(01:21:32):
videos.
Oh, you gotta check it out.
Uh, I'm sure Lindsay has it onher socials as well.
I'm gonna put it on YouTube.
It was the best experience,honestly.
I I feel like the observationcenter and and the area that
they have on top of the rock isprobably the best spot that you
(01:21:52):
can go to in New York City.
Now they say that you can go umon top of the Empire State
Building, but it's nowhere nearthe observation deck that you
the experience of three levelsthat we had.
Um the One World Trade Centerthat has a beautiful observation
area up there, and I think theyhave like the glass floors and
everything.
(01:22:14):
But as far as like watching SNL,watching Jimmy Fallon and
everything we've watched ourwhole life, being on top of that
building had to take it back.
I wanted to bring Lindsay withme on top of the rock.
SPEAKER_02 (01:22:27):
She was like, I'd I
didn't want to have a panic
attack and not be able to getout of that situation quickly.
And um, and also I had to staywith Shelly because Shelly
didn't want to go up either.
So it was very expensive, notgonna lie.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:41):
Once she would have
got there, she could have worked
herself into being able to walkup those stairs and being on the
outside of it, but it was on theinside.
SPEAKER_02 (01:22:48):
It's just a reason
to go back.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:50):
Oh, you're trying to
already paint that picture.
SPEAKER_02 (01:22:53):
Later on, later on
in life.
But I'm not gonna drive itthough.
No, we're gonna fly.
I get to get over my fear offlying, and we're gonna fly.
SPEAKER_01 (01:22:59):
Okay.
Okay, let's lock that in, right?
SPEAKER_02 (01:23:02):
Yeah, but we'll go
during Christmas time then
because we don't have to driveanywhere.
Yeah, because I don't want todrive in snow ever.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:08):
A week later, after
we left, they brought in the
Christmas tree.
SPEAKER_02 (01:23:12):
They were building
the ice skating rink while we
were there.
Like I watched it.
I watched it happen with my owneyes.
That was cool.
So then um they did they do therock.
Um, we walk back to our room, weget some more uh street food.
That was but everything elsethat we had the the um the
(01:23:35):
pizza, the Chinese food, thedeli food.
A hundred out of ten.
Like I can't even it was it wasexactly what I wanted, and I got
to knock off every pretty mucheverything.
The only thing I didn't get fromNew York that I had said that I
wanted was some gelato.
SPEAKER_01 (01:23:52):
Oh, yeah, you were
talking about that.
You were like, what was it thatI didn't get to do?
And you you didn't have thegelato.
SPEAKER_02 (01:23:58):
I didn't have the
gelato, but that's okay because
I had no more room for it.
So the next day it was time togo to Gettysburg.
unknown (01:24:08):
The burg.
SPEAKER_02 (01:24:09):
By the way, um, I
forgot to mention that on the
way to from Fall River to NewYork City, we did have to go
through Boston again.
So the tunnel again, thehumongous bridge, again.
But I was fine.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:24):
Who was big girl on
that one?
It was big girl.
It was big girl.
SPEAKER_02 (01:24:26):
We had dead stop
traffic in that tunnel, and uh I
was okay.
SPEAKER_01 (01:24:30):
Yeah, and we even
rerouted in the middle of it.
And I'm like, all right, I gottaget fucked way over here, right
in the middle of this, and she'sgood.
I'm like, okay, girl, you gotthis.
And I just want her to rememberall that to help her through the
next times if we have thosetimes.
SPEAKER_02 (01:24:45):
I explained to Jesse
that I'm one person, my anxiety
is another me that I I obvious Ihonestly can't control because I
don't want to feel like that.
I don't want to be afraid ofthings.
Um, but I don't know, I don'tknow what happened in my life to
make me because I didn't used tobe.
I don't know if it was havingchildren, um, having my guts
(01:25:06):
taken out and put back in fourtimes.
I don't really know whathappened, but some toy some sort
of trauma has made me have havehorrible anxiety.
Yeah.
But um, so we're gonna I'm gonnasend Silas off with our niece
really quick while Jesse tellsthe rest of the rest of uh
(01:25:27):
story.
Uh well, and I'll be back.
I'll be back.
SPEAKER_01 (01:25:30):
Well, my niece just
showed up to pick up Sy.
He's going to a birthday party.
I might tell her to come in hereand say hey real quick.
I gotta see my niece, myfavorite niece.
But so we left, and of course,I'm geeking because I had been
through Hershey, Pennsylvaniabefore.
Lindsay has never seen thePennsylvania uh the state like
(01:25:52):
being in rural Pennsylvaniaarea.
Beautiful, rolling hills, allthe farm country.
And I'm like, Lindsay, can wejust, you know, it's only like a
15-minute detour, just drivethrough Hershey and smell that
chocolate.
So if you're ever near Hershey, you can smell it normally, but
the time that we went throughhere, I guess they weren't
(01:26:13):
making chocolate that day.
So I only caught some hints ofit.
I was like, Lindsay, I can smellit, I can smell it.
We go up over a hill, then itgoes away.
I'm like, there's no way thatwe're not in Hershey, and then
we went over another hill, boom.
There's the theme park.
We rode through.
We were like, we don't have timefor the theme park, but we're
(01:26:34):
gonna check out you know thefactory and all the stuff in
Hershey.
Could not smell the chocolate.
It was kind of I was kind ofbuilding everybody up in the
car.
I was like, y'all need to wakeup.
We're in Hershey, you're gonnasmell all this beautiful
chocolate.
This is it's just so iconic.
They weren't making chocolatethat day.
So Lindsay was like, whant wham.
(01:26:54):
And I was like, no, there's noway.
There's no way I'm in Hershey,Pennsylvania, not smelling it.
Because I was I smelled it onetime before I was riding on the
freeway, and we were like uhfour miles away from Hershey.
This was years ago before I evenmet Lindsay.
But I was like, I have to go tothis town.
So all the little Hershey kisseson the on the street lights, all
(01:27:15):
the stuff is just beautiful.
So we did a couple laps aroundthere.
I got I got some chocolate fromlike a gas station we stopped
at.
I was like, I got Hersheychocolate from Hershey,
Pennsylvania, and we left there, tracked on down to Gettysburg.
Honestly, when I started rollinginto Gettysburg, you're going
(01:27:37):
up, and it's like some two-laneroads, it's it's it's small,
beautiful scenery.
I rolled over the hills, andright before we started coming
into Gettysburg, you could kindof feel the energy and the
history of Gettysburg.
And it was just so historicalfor me, because I I I love the
(01:27:58):
old American history stuff, andyou can tell that uh a lot of
this trip we stopped at a lot ofthings that were just historical
for especially for Silas and forLindsay to take in and just be
like, we're gonna bask in all ofthat stuff.
Gettysburg though is a wholenother vibe.
We um we pulled up and it was alittle too early for us to check
(01:28:22):
in, so we rode around town alittle bit, and uh one of the
recommendations that we had fromPhilly from the guy uh in
Philly, he's like you need tocheck out the Dobbin house.
So we we had set up all thatstuff, got uh got back into the
room, got everything set up, anduh, I'm trying to look here and
(01:28:44):
see where we had stayed at inGettysburg.
We stayed at the Quality Inn.
Did not know it had a hidden gemthere until the next uh it was
like eight hours later, but umwent to the Daubin House.
The Daubin House is um Americanhistory where they had the uh
Underground Railroad comethrough there, so that's the
(01:29:07):
northern point of theUnderground Railroad where
people were escaping slavery atthe time would stop in there and
uh get you know food andsupplies and things like that
for the Underground Railroad.
The food at Daubin House wasamazing.
I think that that place wasbuilt in like the 1700s.
SPEAKER_02 (01:29:28):
I had a pic hi, I'm
back.
I have a picture of um theoutside like information on it
that I'll post in stories.
SPEAKER_01 (01:29:36):
Yeah.
Daubben House was just it wasvery, very and that was
recommended to us.
SPEAKER_02 (01:29:41):
Did you already say
that?
Yeah, by the way, by the yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:29:46):
So awesome.
The food was amazing, theatmosphere was amazing.
They actually they bring youdownstairs where we were at.
And it was nice.
It's an underground tavern, lowlit, just candlelit type
situation, just beautiful.
Food was amazing.
I already said the food wasamazing.
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:02):
It was clay, by the
way, not Chelsea.
Oh.
So yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:05):
Oh, did I did I
mention that the food was
amazing there?
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:07):
So good.
I had what did you you had likea mile high sandwich?
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:11):
Yeah.
It was good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:12):
It was like an old
school club sandwich.
And then I had a spinach saladthat had like mushrooms and
olives and grilled chicken, andit had this hot bacon dressing,
but then I also got some oftheir homemade Thousand Island
on the side, which Jesse used onhis sandwich.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:30):
So good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:31):
I'm hungry now,
thinking about it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:33):
It was called the
Gen Z Doblin.
That's what that sandwich wascalled, by God.
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:37):
It was so good.
So then, after the Dobin House,we go back to the room.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:43):
And that's where we
discover the hidden gem at the
quality end.
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:49):
Was it the Reliance?
Is that what it was called?
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:52):
The what?
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:54):
I'm gonna look it
up.
The bar.
SPEAKER_01 (01:30:56):
Oh.
Did they call it the Reliance?
SPEAKER_02 (01:30:59):
Hold on.
I'm gonna tell you.
So talk to him about it whileyou look at it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:31:05):
Oh, this son of a
bitch was in a cave.
It was not a not a cave.
It was it was Reliance MineSaloon.
The mine.
Not a cave, but it was a mine.
It was like it was a mine shaft.
Mine shaft.
That blew my mind and my shaft.
SPEAKER_02 (01:31:22):
We could not find
it.
And finally, like we roundedthis corner because I wanted to
get out and I wanted to walk.
My body is used to way moreexercise than we were getting.
SPEAKER_01 (01:31:32):
We needed Gen Z
time.
We did walk, though.
We walked to uh did we walkbefore we went?
So we was like, all right, let'sjust take a walk for a minute,
stretch our legs, you know.
We just needed to get it out,you know, and it was cool
because um my sister and Silasthey hung out in the room
because they're they're fuddyduddies.
SPEAKER_02 (01:31:50):
Well, they they were
watching um the free form, you
know, 30 days of Halloween.
They were watching like theHotel Transylvania, they were
having a good time, and wewanted to go Taiwan on.
Um, it was pretty much our lastnight of our vacation, other
than the stop that we made inSouth Carolina, which was eh.
Um, so it was our last night, and so we were like, let's go
(01:32:13):
Taiwan on.
And we everything was walkingdistance.
We did not, we did not drive.
Um so we took a walk first.
We came back to the hotel and wewere like, all right, let's find
this bar.
And we couldn't find it.
We couldn't find it.
So we go into the lobby andwe're gonna ask the front desk.
And I I walk around and I hearsomebody blowing the bathroom
(01:32:40):
up.
So I'm like, that's probably thefront desk guy.
And I don't want to because Ilaughed.
SPEAKER_01 (01:32:46):
I could not help
myself.
He's like, we need to get thehell out of here because he's
bourbon.
SPEAKER_02 (01:32:50):
So, but I happen to
look behind the counter and I
see the name of the bar and Isee that it is underground-ish.
And I was like, all right, we'regonna go find it.
Let's get out of here beforethis guy comes out of the
bathroom, or lady, whoever.
I don't we don't know who itwas.
They was blown up the bathroom.
Um, and I didn't want to Ididn't want to embarrass them.
(01:33:10):
Or talk to them or talk to themor see them.
Never again.
SPEAKER_01 (01:33:13):
Ever.
SPEAKER_02 (01:33:15):
So we found it.
So it was between the littlebreakfast area that they have,
which is it's called BreakfastCottage for this hotel, quality
in in Gettysburg.
Very nice.
Um, except the toilet flushingsituation was weird.
SPEAKER_03 (01:33:30):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:33:30):
But anyway, it was
called the Reliance Saloon and
Reliance Mine Saloon, and it'sthis little teeny building that
you go in, and then there's awhole shole little tunnel that
you walk through.
I've got videos of that, andthen you get to the bar.
So we go in there, we have acouple of drinks, we talk with
(01:33:51):
the um bartender, we get alittle buzzed, we leave, and we
go to another bar that's acrossthe street, the Appalachian
Brewing Company.
Appalachian Brewing Company.
That bartender was super nice.
We have a couple of drinksthere.
We come back, we're literallylike, okay, it's time to go to
bed.
It's it says reconnecting, butlast time she packed us with
(01:34:14):
drinks.
She did.
She did.
She was like, Do you want so wegot uh?
Yeah, I I talk about it in umour last recap.
Um, not our last recap, but therecap before that.
Um, our recap on edging.
We had what was called, it waslike skinny vodka soda.
It was like orange.
So good.
So good.
And she was like, You guys wantsome of these to go?
(01:34:35):
And we're like, fuck yeah, wewant to take these to Florida.
So she gave us a four-pack togo.
We paid our bill.
We were literally, all right, let's go back, let's go to bed.
We got a lot of driving to dothe next day.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:47):
We did go then.
Like, I'm good to go.
SPEAKER_02 (01:34:49):
But we didn't then.
But we didn't stop.
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:53):
No.
SPEAKER_02 (01:34:54):
So we find a group.
What did you say they were on?
SPEAKER_01 (01:34:57):
Uh they were they
were from Ohio.
There was like a bowling teamthat had showed up there.
Probably just to check out thesites and you know the history
and all.
SPEAKER_02 (01:35:05):
They were like, Do
you guys know where the bye is?
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:07):
And we're like
staggering around the yes, I got
you, bro.
We clocked back the fuck in.
SPEAKER_02 (01:35:12):
I was so excited to
show them where it was.
I was like, come on, guys, let'sgo.
I'm like five drinks in by now.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:20):
I'm done already.
SPEAKER_02 (01:35:21):
Jesse's had about
my, but he's had stronger
drinks.
SPEAKER_03 (01:35:26):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:35:26):
Um, so we take him
to the bar and uh we load back
up at the bar, and uh Cindy has,I think she's had a couple of
shots too.
SPEAKER_00 (01:35:36):
I don't know,
because she was even more
friendly.
She was lit up too.
We brought the whole crew with.
SPEAKER_02 (01:35:41):
We brought a whole
crew of Ohio boys.
Yeah.
Um and the one of them talked tous for a while.
It was a drunken conversation.
Don't even remember it, but Iremember talking to him.
We had a great time.
We had two more drinks.
SPEAKER_01 (01:35:55):
I overdid myself,
believe it or not.
I had to leave some of my DNA onthe bush later on that night.
SPEAKER_02 (01:36:03):
But then we go back
to the room and we get the
giggles.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:09):
Oh, yes, we did get
the giggles.
SPEAKER_02 (01:36:11):
We get the giggles
for a long time.
So Shelly's awake, she'sgiggling with us too.
Then she falls asleep.
And um What did I say?
SPEAKER_00 (01:36:20):
You gonna tell them?
SPEAKER_02 (01:36:21):
No, we're we're not
gonna talk about what he was
talking about that made usgiggle because it's gross.
Um but Shelly is fighting forher fucking life in her sleep,
yelling, y'all, snoring andyelling.
SPEAKER_01 (01:36:40):
Whatever.
Hey, hit me up, hit us up on ourDMs or something, or uh on our
website or something, I'll tellyou what I was talking about.
Because god dang, we was fuckinglit.
It was fun.
We were tired as fuck, though.
It was fun.
Would you go till like threethat morning before you went to
sleep?
SPEAKER_02 (01:36:59):
All right, so Shelly
with her snoring and yelling
kept us up till two.
But we were laughing, we weregiggling.
We we didn't know.
We had fun.
Then he goes to sleep.
Now I've got I'm sister-in-lawover here and Jesse over here
snoring.
Synchronized.
Synchronized snoring.
So I'm up for another hour, andthen I was dead.
(01:37:23):
Like the next morning, the nextwhole day, I'm just like, blah.
Because I haven't had a lot ofsleep.
And we had six hours to do thenext day.
Yeah, we had a track on the box.
No, we had seven.
We did seven.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37:36):
Yeah, uh, south of
the border though.
We were kind of giddy about thatone because the way up, you
could see this roadsideattraction with all of this,
it's it's all a Mexican typemotif, and there's so many cool
things to look at.
We're like, let's just get aroom there.
That way we don't have to go allthe way back down to Florida.
SPEAKER_02 (01:37:55):
So we got another
room at another quality inn uh
booked.
We we booked it the night beforeat um Quality Inn in Dillon,
South Carolina, which is fiveminutes from the south of the
border area that we had alreadyeyed on the way up.
It looked amazing.
SPEAKER_00 (01:38:10):
It looked like a
mini awesome.
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:12):
It looked like a
mini Las Vegas, but uh Mexican
motif.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:18):
Why are you looking
at me right now?
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:19):
Well, first of all,
your girl drove three hours of
the seven into South Carolina, and I drove over a bridge and I
I made it.
You did it.
I survived you.
Look at you now.
But then we get checked into ourroom, which was uh okay, so it
was rated seven out of tenstars.
I'm gonna give it a four.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:37):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:38):
But it was just
somewhere to sleep.
SPEAKER_03 (01:38:39):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:40):
And um there was no
bugs.
That was nice.
So we go to South of the Border,we're like, we're amped up.
We wanted some good, dude.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:48):
I thought fresh cool
little thing, especially for
Silas and then us.
We love Mexican food.
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:53):
Yeah, we wanted some
yummy, fresh Mexican food.
SPEAKER_01 (01:38:56):
We thought we were
gonna get some good, good.
SPEAKER_02 (01:38:58):
We drive into this
whole area.
SPEAKER_01 (01:39:01):
We're the only
people in the whole fucking
complex.
In the whole area.
We're talking about probably afive-acre area.
It is all lit up, beautifulflashing arcades and shit going
on.
It's just us, just us.
All the the Mexican stuff, thezonkies are running around, they
(01:39:21):
got statues of dudes wearinglike the little blankets and the
sombreros.
SPEAKER_02 (01:39:26):
And we choose a
restaurant called Sombreros.
Because when we get in and getseated, we're the only people in
the place, and I felt so bad.
The cute little South Carolinacountry bumpkin server.
I mean, the cutest accent ever.
She's got she's dressed up,she's ready for a crowd.
(01:39:48):
We thought this place wasclosed.
There was nobody.
It was just us.
It was literally a ghost town inthe most lit up area you've ever
seen.
Ever.
We go in, their menu containedzero Mexican food.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:06):
Zero.
And she's like, well, we canprobably make a quesadilla or
something.
I'm like, what the fuck?
It's like we just walked intoCity Walk.
With nobody there.
With nobody there.
SPEAKER_02 (01:40:16):
It was a good one.
Which we have had happen duringCOVID times.
Oh, yeah, we kind of did.
We were pass holders ofUniversal Studios.
Um so we had an 18-month pass.
Yeah.
Midway through, we go for ourvacation.
The whole country shut down.
Uh actually, the whole worldshut down two days later.
Um, City Walk looked like whatwe were at that weekend.
(01:40:39):
But anyways, we still had somegreat Jamaican food.
SPEAKER_01 (01:40:41):
They had the great
Jamaican food that we had at Bob
Marley's.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:40:45):
So yeah, she's like,
I'm sorry, but I can recommend a
place to you, which wasliterally back the other way,
back by our hotel room, andJesse's like, fuck, I don't want
to drive nowhere.
But it was five minutes, it waswhatever.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:00):
I handled it, and it
was amazing though.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:03):
That fucking
burping.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:05):
That restaurant was
it was amazing.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:07):
I'm ready to eat
dinner.
Um, so we it was lost something, another.
It was great.
SPEAKER_00 (01:41:14):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:14):
Um, it had cracked
booths.
Um, five servers made sure wewere okay.
Like they were on it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:22):
They were like
showing up.
Y'all need any more case of D,you need more of this, more of
that.
I'm like, y'all are fuckingawesome, dude.
This is this is what we needed.
We found it.
Yeah, great food.
Where it was supposed to be at.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:34):
Um The margaritas
kind of sucked, but the food was
good.
We went back to our room um andgot a night's sleep.
And the next day we get to go toBuggy's.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:48):
You did.
Yes.
Dropped the Hyundai.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:52):
Let me go get my cup
so I can show you.
SPEAKER_01 (01:41:54):
Okay, she did.
She did get her a cool cup.
Go get it.
SPEAKER_02 (01:41:58):
Okay, I got a hat
here.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:00):
Oh.
No, take the headphones withyou.
Just walk off with them.
Yes, she got to do the damnthing in the bussies.
And we needed that.
Like, that little break in theremade the whole trip polishing it
off.
Lindsay got her somesouvenirage.
(01:42:20):
There it is.
SPEAKER_02 (01:42:21):
It glows in the
dark.
I don't know if you can hear me.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42:25):
It glows in the
dark.
SPEAKER_02 (01:42:26):
It glows in the
dark.
Yes.
Um, so yeah, so um Shelly andSilas and even Jesse, they they
per they partook in the um freecontinental breakfast, which
they I mean, which that was thebest part of the whole that
hotel experience.
They had everything like baggedup, ready to go for you.
(01:42:48):
So I grabbed a bagel and boiledeggs, but I was still full for
Mexican food the night before.
That I all I had when I drove toBucky's um was a boil, was a
boiled egg because I did notwant to ruin my appetite before
I got to Bucky's because I I Iwhen we go to Bucky's, I get it
(01:43:08):
like a full buffet.
Um there they have asouthwestern wrap in their cold
section that I love.
I love their chicken salad.
And then I grabbed some slicedpickles, sliced spicy pickles
that I put the chicken salad on.
And then I got some spicy dillpickle chips, I got some
jalapeno chips, like I said, full buffet for me.
(01:43:31):
I was so hungry and I was soexcited that I had waited until
I got a Bucky's to eat.
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:36):
You gotta get the
brisket.
I have to get the brisket.
SPEAKER_02 (01:43:39):
I usually I I
sometimes get a brisket taco,
like because when we go toRockville, we go on the way, and
I'll usually get a hot itemwhile I'm there, and then I get
cold stuff for the rest of theweekend that were there to that
I can snack on.
But I knew that we we werealmost home.
It was only like two hours left.
SPEAKER_01 (01:43:58):
Yeah, we knocked
that on out.
SPEAKER_02 (01:44:00):
Yeah, listening to
podcasts.
SPEAKER_01 (01:44:02):
We listening to
laundry the next two, three,
four days.
But yes, we were we we did thedamn thing.
SPEAKER_02 (01:44:09):
We did the damn
thing.
We did the damn thing.
And then we rolled in to LakeCity around what three o'clock,
four o'clock?
SPEAKER_01 (01:44:16):
Yeah, four.
SPEAKER_02 (01:44:17):
And uh we had the
rest of the night.
We did laundry, we started theEd Geen series.
Yeah, we recorded a recap ofEdgeen, and here we are a week
later.
It was really amazing trip.
SPEAKER_01 (01:44:31):
I think we planned
it perfectly.
I lined it all up right, made alittle itinerary, it worked out.
So we did it, you know?
We survived.
And you gotta do it.
You gotta do an East Coast trip.
If anybody's on the East Coast, just go ahead and plan it.
The shoot all the way up, 95.
Wasn't that bad.
SPEAKER_02 (01:44:50):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (01:44:51):
And everything was
planned out just right.
Spend a little time, plan it outright.
Uh, maybe take a few more daysthan we did and check out a lot
of the other stuff that wedidn't check out, but we we did
fine and we we budgetedperfectly because we're going to
Halloween Horror Nights soon.
SPEAKER_02 (01:45:09):
We came back with
money left over, and now we're
going to Halloween Horror Nightswith my bestie Cindy.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:13):
So we're gonna cover
that too, right?
We'll talk about Helena.
Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:45:16):
We'll talk about
their haunted houses.
Haunted houses.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:18):
Haunted houses.
You know, when I first metLindsay, she was terrified.
SPEAKER_02 (01:45:23):
Do you know now?
Now, uh, we've been together 13,almost 14 years.
Now it's hard to find a scarymovie that scares me.
Nothing fucks with her no more.
Uh except bridges and tunnels.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:37):
And I'm over here
like, oh, this is a fucking
thing, this show and all they'redoing.
I'm kind of I'm kind of bitchingup now a little bit.
And now you're like, I just, whatever Ed Gane's doing right
in front of me.
I'm all like, no.
SPEAKER_02 (01:45:48):
And you're like, no,
that I mean, I I I can watch the
show, but it is it is hard towatch.
SPEAKER_01 (01:45:55):
Yeah.
It gets to me like a lot morethough, I think.
SPEAKER_02 (01:45:58):
I couldn't finish uh
Jeffrey Dahmer.
Yeah, we I could not finishJeffrey Dahmer, neither could
he.
Because we were watching it atseparate times.
That's not one that we sat downum and watched together like we
did Ed Geen.
We were watching it at separatetimes and like keeping each
other updated.
And I was like, Jesse, I don'tthink I can finish this.
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:15):
Yeah, so like I just
wanted to say I didn't watch a
lot of the Jeffrey Dahmer stuff.
I do remember it on the news andall that growing up.
So I don't still know a lotabout it.
So it's still gonna be genuinewhenever you talk about him.
SPEAKER_02 (01:46:27):
When he and I lived
in our first home together, uh,
we did watch a documentary aboutthe actual woman that lived
beside him.
SPEAKER_03 (01:46:37):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:46:37):
Because he actually
introduced me to um John Wayne
Gacy, and then uh I I knewnothing about him.
So Jesse has in the past knownsome shit, and we've watched
some things together, but hismemory sucks.
Well, maybe I'll so it's nowlike all a surprise.
SPEAKER_01 (01:46:58):
Yeah.
Maybe I was part of the therooting of some pod podcast
asphyxiation with true crime.
Maybe I might have helped pushyou into that.
You did.
That's awesome.
And yeah, it is.
I I really I I get rid of a lotof that in my head because I
don't want to hang on to it.
Even some of the things we'vetalked about, I have to recall
some of it already.
(01:47:19):
So which is which is fun for mebecause it's it's it's fresh
when we we recap or talk aboutthings, you know, a year later
or something.
I'm just like, oh yeah, fuck.
Then I sneak it all back inagain.
So it's all it it I stay inexcitement.
SPEAKER_02 (01:47:35):
So that is our trip.
Um leave us comments um if youneed any other like
recommendations for things thatwe did, and comment us with your
experiences if you've been tothis area.
We would love to hear aboutthem.
We would love to hear aboutthem.
SPEAKER_01 (01:47:55):
Or, you know, even
if we want to give suggestions
on things that we've done, that's tell us what we need to
do when we go back.
SPEAKER_02 (01:48:02):
It's gonna be some
time.
Yeah, but we will go back.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:05):
Gotta get when
Lindsay needs her wings.
I know.
Yeah.
She did it one time.
We went to Albuquerque.
It was.
I think she'll be fine.
She'll be fine.
She's she's been through so muchnow.
She is big girl.
You're big girl now.
He was horrible to me.
SPEAKER_02 (01:48:21):
Um, Jesse did not
cater to my anxiety.
Yeah.
And um we've we've learned aboutbecause he was a seasoned flyer,
and here you are, you got acountry bumpkin girl.
Snatched her up out of the cowfield, who had to take four
goddamn airplanes from my firstflight adventure anywhere.
SPEAKER_01 (01:48:41):
I will admit
Albuquerque, the landing in
Albuquerque.
Look at her looking at me rightnow.
Look at her looking at me.
SPEAKER_02 (01:48:49):
I'm looking at you.
And I looked at him, and helooked at me.
But I did it and I survived.
But um I I mean now, now I Iwill have some kind of mood
helper.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:08):
Enhancement.
SPEAKER_02 (01:49:09):
Um, I will
definitely drink.
Um still gonna have to be put,I'm gonna have to still do baby
steps because it has been almost14 years since my last flight.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:20):
Yeah.
And um you'll be hard pressed tofind that kind of um turbulence
as far as a landing anywherethat I've never felt it before
that.
SPEAKER_02 (01:49:31):
So Albuquerque, like
the you, if you when you're
driving through Albuquerque, itliterally says, beware of sudden
gusts of winds while you'redriving.
So just imagine landing intothat city.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (01:49:44):
I think you'll be
hard pressed to find that much
turbulence ever again.
So just keep that in mind.
Okay.
Okay.
So you survived that one.
I did.
SPEAKER_02 (01:49:51):
Okay.
I kept like stomping on airbrakes, like on the airplane.
Like on an airplane.
Like, help me, Jesus.
Help me, Tom Cruise.
Yeah, then nobody showed up.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:02):
Nobody showed up.
I needed a daiquiri in thisbitch.
SPEAKER_02 (01:50:06):
I did have an
anxiety.
So I was fine.
It's weird because I was finegoing from Orlando to Houston,
but then when we flew out ofHouston to Albuquerque, I had a
panic attack.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:16):
And even leaving out
of because we went to Colorado
after that.
That was only an hour.
But we left out of Colorado andwe were doing like 500 miles an
hour in a propeller plane.
Well, into Colorado.
Into Colorado.
We were we were cruising up intoColorado in a prop plane.
But way back, we were on a jetengine, and it was just like we
(01:50:40):
flew back, was it like an hourand a half from Colorado?
It was something stupid.
SPEAKER_02 (01:50:44):
One one hour.
SPEAKER_01 (01:50:45):
It was something
stupid from Colorado back to
Florida.
It was like boom.
He's like, Yeah, I'm gonna goahead and catch some time up,
and we're gonna go in about 550.
I was like, Lindsay, we'retraveling 550 miles an hour, and
she's like wide out her eyes.
Shut the fuck up! That bigaround.
But it was it was it was smoothcruising cruising.
It was smooth.
So you got it conquered, girl.
(01:51:06):
Bridges, tunnels, flying, yougot this.
