The Easter weekend represents the cornerstone of faith for millions worldwide, but beyond its religious significance lies a profound message about mental healing and identity restoration. This episode delves into the remarkable story of Mary Magdalene – a woman once tormented by "seven demons" who became one of the first witnesses to Christ's resurrection.

Moving past religious jargon and psychological labels, we explore how trauma manifests in human lives – creating disconnection, distorted thinking, and a profound sense of lostness. Whether you've experienced addiction, homelessness, relationship breakdown, panic attacks, or simply feel you've lost yourself along the way, Mary's journey offers a compelling parallel.

What makes her story so powerful isn't just her healing, but her complete transformation and restoration of purpose. Though the Bible doesn't detail her specific symptoms, her experience represents anyone who has felt mentally fragmented, emotionally tortured, or spiritually oppressed. The profound truth is that she wasn't excluded from Christ's inner circle because of her past – instead, she was honored as the first to proclaim his resurrection.

The episode features a reading of Isaiah 53, highlighting Christ's sacrifice, followed by the original poem "Electric Lady" that celebrates the transformed identity available to those who embrace healing. Throughout, we return to a central truth: our worth isn't determined by social status, perfection, or past experiences. Rather, we're created in God's image, with an inherent value no circumstance can diminish.

Whether you're questioning your identity, struggling with mental torment, or simply feeling lost, this message offers hope that complete restoration is possible. Your trauma doesn't have to define or control you anymore. As we contemplate Easter's deeper meaning, consider watching "The Passion of the Christ" or "The Chosen" series to better understand both the humanity and divinity of Jesus – and the healing he offers to everyone who reaches out.

Dina LaFargue Augusti (00:00):
Greetings and welcome to a new episode of
the Drip Line, where love andhealing will flow into your soul
.
I hope you tune in and comealong this journey, allowing
love and truth to permeate yourentire being.
Hoping the message today willsimply touch your heart,

(00:21):
bringing you closer to yourhealing and empower you for your
daily life.
So come along as we discuss oneof the most celebrated weekends
in the world and also share alittle bit about the
circumstance of Mary Magdalene.

(00:45):
The weekend that I'm speaking ofis the weekend of Easter Sunday
, Holy Thursday, Good Friday andEaster Sunday, also known as
Resurrection SunDay.
It is when Jesus voluntarilylaid down his life for us, being
tortured and then crucified onthe cross, ultimately dying for

(01:09):
our sins, that we would haveeternal life in his presence.
It is where there are no moretears and no more sorrows.
It's written.
I'm going to share an excerptout of the Gospel of Matthew
that gives you an idea of whathappened after the crucifixion,

(01:30):
and it includes this awesomewoman known as Mary Magdalene.
In Matthew, chapter 28, Itreads After the Sabbath, at dawn
on the first day of the week,Mary Magdalene and the other
Mary went to look at the tomb, there was a violent earthquake,

(01:50):
for the angel of the Lord camedown from heaven and, going to
the tomb, rolled back the stoneand sat on it.
.
His appearance was likelightning and his clothes were
white as snow.
The guards were so afraid ofhim that they shook and became
like dead men.
The angel said to the womenhe's not here, he has risen.

(02:19):
Just as he said, come and seethe place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell hisdisciples he has risen from the
dead and is going ahead of youinto Galilee.
There you will see him.
Now I have told you.
So the woman hurried away fromthe tomb, afraid, yet filled
with joy, and ran to tell hisdisciples.

(02:41):
Suddenly, Jesus met them.
Greetings, He said, and theycame to Him, clasped his feet
and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them, "Donot be afraid, go and tell my
brothers to go to Galilee, andthere they will see me.

(03:02):
So this is what the womenexperienced after Jesus was
crucified, and I'm sharing thisexcerpt of history to let us
know that there was a man, theson of man, the son of God, who
laid down His life of his ownvolition, from his own heart,

(03:26):
that we might be saved from oursins and be delivered and live
in the presence of God for therest of our lives.
And this might be a conceptthat is rejected by many and
hard to understand, but I'msharing it with you because it's

(03:49):
powerful.
I believe it and I believethere is healing and truth in
every word of it.
In Luke, chapter 8, I'm going toshare a little history of who
Mary Magdalene was.
It says, "and it came to passafterward that when Jesus went
throughout every city andvillage preaching and showing
the glad tidings of the kingdomof God and the twelve were with

(04:11):
him and certain women which hadbeen healed of evil spirits and
infirmities, mary calledMagdalene, out of whom went
seven devils, and Joanna, thewife of Chusa, herod's steward,
and Susanna and many otherswhich ministered unto him of
their substance.
So that's a brief synopsis ofMary.

(04:34):
We know that she was a womanthat had been attacked and
infiltrated by demons and, yes,I know many people do not
believe in demons, but I'mreading out of the Bible and I'm
sharing this because it'simportant to understand that,
whatever terminology you want touse, people are afflicted

(04:57):
mentally, emotionally,psychologically and spiritually,
but the good news is that Godso loved the world that he gave
his only begotten son thatwhoever believes in him should
not perish but have everlastinglife (John 3:16).
Now I don't want to really getcaught up in using medical

(05:20):
terminology, psychological,psychiatric terminology or
jargon.
I don't want to be steeped inreligious language.
I want to keep this as real aspossible, simply saying that
people get trapped.
People suffer so much traumathey get buried in trauma, in

(05:42):
fear, in shock.
People become so damaged thatthey become addicts or develop
addictions.
Whatever the addiction is.
An addiction can be anaddiction of drugs, food,
something that somebody doesrepeatedly that becomes a habit,

(06:04):
that becomes a necessity, thatbecomes a must.
Otherwise, not being able tosurvive without doing it.
People become homeless.
There's homelessness.
Some people are imprisonedphysically because they turn to
violence or stealing, killing,destroying.

(06:27):
Some people are medicated,self-medicated, or in need of
intense intervention.
Many of us have been so robbedof so much we don't recognize
ourselves and we're unable toidentify who we really are, what
we're doing and what we're herefor.

(06:49):
You see, it is written in theBible that the enemy comes to
steal, kill and destroy, but italso says that Jesus has come to
give us life, and to give uslife abundantly, and so I'm
sharing the story of Mary.

(07:10):
The Bible doesn't say much, butthe important part is that I
believe we've all been aroundsomeone or known someone or
experienced times in our liveswhere we can't cope.
We need something to help usget through one moment to the
next.
We have nervous breakdowns, wehave panic attacks, we lose

(07:35):
ourselves, we destroyrelationships because we are not
able to deal with everyday life.
At some point in our liveswe've lost ourselves and our
personalities become distorted.
Our thinking becomes distorted.
Our minds can become fracturedin so many ways.

(08:00):
We may develop obsessivedisorders.
I mean people throw aroundterms.
I don't like to, but we knowthey're out there; being bipolar
, being manic, beingschizophrenic and so forth.
I don't want to get caught upin the terminology, but what I

(08:23):
do want to relay to everyonelistening is that Jesus not only
healed people physically, butwe know that Jesus healed people
of mental afflictions.
Mary Magdalene is one of them.
Matter of fact, many thatfollowed Jesus have been

(08:45):
afflicted.
There's the history of the manthat was in chains, that cried
out and Jesus healed him.
Jesus is a healer, Jesus is adeliverer.
He created us in his image, andMary of Magdala, or Mary

(09:05):
Magdalene was a woman that it iswritten, who was possessed or
infiltrated by seven demons.
It doesn't describe what sheexperienced, but I have seen
what it looks like to beinfiltrated and it can be very

(09:27):
extreme, very heart-wrenching,very traumatizing.
It's when a person literally hasno control over their thought,
life or their actions.
Sometimes they may be lucid andsometimes not.
Sometimes they may hear voices, sometimes not.
Sometimes they might justdisconnect and become catatonic.

(09:51):
Sometimes it has many faces.
Trauma has many faces.
Fear has many faces.
Being lost has many faces.
Being hurt has many faces.

(10:13):
It manifests in different waysin different people and all of
us have different tolerancelevels, but it is very real.
It is very hurtful, it is veryharmful, but Jesus is a healer.
He is called the greatphysician and he did not come
into this earth to serve himselfbut to serve us, and he

(10:37):
actually calls us his friend.
So I bring up Mary Magdala asone of the historical figures to
add into this week's episode, because we know that people are
ostracized in society.
We know that we have met peoplethat suffer mentally,

(11:00):
emotionally, are not in theirright mind, and sometimes they
don't find a place.
Sometimes they don't get thehelp.
Many times they don't get thehelp.
We know resources are short ordenied and we often feel
unworthy - whether our issuesare extreme or not extreme.

(11:21):
We often feel not being perfect, not doing things perfectly,
not being accepted into societyquote unquote or into circles
that we feel we belong in.
We are not worthy, we are lessthan.
But here is Mary of Magdala, another woman that was truly,

(11:44):
truly ostracized.
Who would dare to be with her, knowing the condition of her
mental state, knowing theafflictions that she suffered,
knowing that many times she wasnot in control or in her right
mind?
Who knows how extreme it was?
But we know it was extreme.

(12:05):
But yet she was one of thefirst to witness the
resurrection of Christ.
Did God deny her?
No.
Did God make her last?
No, she was there, she knewwhat he had done for her and she

(12:25):
wanted to know where he was,how he was and if he indeed did
rise.
So she was not less than any ofthe apostles, because God is no
respecter of persons.
Yes, those men had a title andyes, we have to understand the
context.
But was Mary any less than toJesus, than them?

(12:46):
No, not at all.
He said the first would be lastand the last would be first.
So in saying this, I want tomake it crystal clear that
stations, title, positions inlife or in society, social class
, social status, the amount ofmoney you have or don't have

(13:08):
does not matter to God.
Everyone matters.
Everyone matters.
He would leave the 99 to savethe one.
He says he has come foreveryone and anyone those who
would receive him.
He is the light of the worldand in John 1, verses 1 through

(13:31):
8, you can read that.
He is the light of the world.
He brought salvation.
He came to save mankind and Idon't want to get into
theological arguments, but Iknow God knew everyone before he
was in his mother's womb.
He knew everyone and he loveseveryone and he is for everyone.

(13:52):
He didn't come just for onepeople, he came to save everyone
, that everyone would be withhim throughout eternity.
So do not deny yourself becauseyou feel you are not good enough
, do not deny yourself becauseyou don't have it or not with it

(14:13):
.
No, all you have to do is callon His name.
All you have to do is believe, like the woman in past episodes
that I mentioned, the woman thathad an issue of blood for 12
years.
Just touch the hem of hisgarment, just reach out.
He's always there.

(14:34):
Wherever you find yourself, Heis - wherever you find yourself.
You cannot hide.
He is knocking on the door ofyour heart all the time, waiting
for you to let him in, waitingfor you to have a relationship
with Him.
He says I knock on the door ofyour heart, open the door and

(14:59):
receive me, that I may come inand dine with you, that I may
live with you, that we may joinhand in hand and walk this life
out together.
It's a beautiful relationship,it's a powerful relationship,
it's a healing relationship,it's a liberating relationship

(15:23):
and I pray that if you don'talready know him, that you give
him the opportunity.
And that if you do know himand you slipped or you're
struggling, it's okay.
It's okay.
He is gentle and loving, andone of my favorite scriptures is

(16:11):
in Matthew, chapter 11, verses28-30 where He says, Come to me
all you who labor or are weary, and heavy burdened, and I will
give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learnfrom me, for I am gentle and
humble in spirit and you willfind rest for your souls, for my
yoke is easy and my burden islight.
"So let those words seep into
your soul, let the truth of hisgentle heart and his
faithfulness to his love flowinto you.

(16:32):
I'm going to read another partof the gospel, and you will see
exactly what I mean.
In the book of Isaiah, chapter53, it says who has believed
what he has heard from us and towhom has the arm of the Lord

(16:53):
been revealed?
For he grew up before him likea young plant and like a root
out of dry ground.
He had no form or majesty thatwe should look at him, meaning
Jesus, and no beauty that weshould desire him.
He was despised and rejected bymen, a man of sorrows, and

(17:32):
acquainted with grief.
And as one from whom men hidetheir faces, He was despised.
And we esteemed Him not.
Yet we have seen him strickenand smitten by God and afflicted
.
And, but - he was pierced forour transgressions.
He was crushed for ouriniquities.
He bore the chastisement of ourpeace upon Himself and by his
stripes, by his wounds, we arehealed, and that is Truth.

(17:56):
We were created in God's imageand when we lose that image or
we never found that image, Jesusis there to show us the way.
Yes, we have a God identity.
We are created in God's image.
If you read in the book ofGenesis, you will see that God

(18:16):
said let us create man in ourimage, let us make him male and
female, created like us.
What is God's image?
God is holy, God is love.
God is peace.
God is a defender of justice.
He is a God of pure knowledge, wisdom and understanding.

(18:37):
And here we are, his children, created in His image, and it is
His desire that we reflect that.
And we were able to, if weaccept Him into our hearts, if
we accept his love, if we trustin Him, believe in Him and allow
his word to heal.

(18:59):
His word is swift and powerful, sharper than any two-edged
sword to the dividing of oursoul and spirit, marrow and bone
, discerning our hearts andminds.
So He knows us better than weknow ourselves.
He knows what has happened, Heknows where He wants us to be.

(19:20):
He created us and He knew usbefore we were in our mother's
womb.
So if you feel lost, if youdon't know who you are, if you
cannot grasp where you lost yourway, you don't have to go back
that far.
The first step is to say,Jesus, help! Jesus, I want you,

(19:44):
Jesus, I invite you in.
Jesus, heal me! He will notdeny anyone.
We do not have to be perfectbefore we come to him.
He is the perfecter of oursouls.
He is the healer of our brokenhearts.
He was wounded for that.
He was broken, that we would bemade whole.

(20:07):
Mary Magdalene was broken andfractured.
We don't know how long shelived like that, but I would
make the suggestion that anyonelistening that hasn't watched
the Passion of the Christ tounderstand why Jesus came and
what He did - It's beautiful andyou will feel the power of his

(20:31):
love and be able to look intohis soul.
You can also watch the seriesthe Chosen and get a better idea
of the humanity of Christ, thepower of Christ, the divinity of
Christ and the humanity of allthose who followed him, who
experienced him walking on thisearth, and I think that will

(20:52):
make him more real and make yourhealing seem tangible.
Because it is tangible.
Jesus tells us in 2 Corinthians," Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away.

(21:12):
Behold, the new has come.
" The new has come.
You are born again once youreceive Jesus Christ as your
Lord and Savior.
And if you don't know how to dothat, it's not complicated.
It's just believing that Hecame into the world as a human,

(21:35):
fully God, fully man, born ofthe Virgin Mary and by the power
of the Holy Spirit, lived freeof sin without a blemish but
took on our sins, was crucifiedfor us and died and did rise on

(21:57):
the third day and now sits atthe right hand of the Father.
And if you believe that andconfess it in your heart that
Jesus Christ is Lord, you areHis.
You belong to Him and cannever be snatched away.
He says no one can snatch youout of my hands.
So I guess this message isabout redemption, recreation,

(22:22):
rebirth, being made new, beingmade whole, being set free, no
longer in the hands of the enemyof your soul, no longer in the
hands of the one who torments.
no matter, in the hands of yourabuse, no longer subjected to

(22:43):
feeling lost, abandoned, feelingout of place, misplaced or
without a place, no longerfeeling rejected and
inconsolable, no longer feelingabandoned without a family.
You're His.

(23:03):
You can truly believe thatsomeone out there does love you
wholeheartedly and perfectly.
It is Jesus, and He does.
He says, " I'm not slow tofulfill my promises, as some

(23:25):
count slowness, but I am patienttowards you, not wishing that
any should perish, but that allshould reach repentance.
An d simply here, Repentancemeans turning away from the
world, turning away from notknowing him to knowing him, to
believing him, to accepting himand recognizing that he died for
our sins, that he died for ourlostness.

(23:47):
We are buried in ugliness withall the ugly things that have
happened to us, but in him allthat is washed away and we are
made new.
He is a blessed savior, aloving savior, one that calls us

(24:07):
friend, and I really want youto contemplate the power of this
weekend.
If you're reading this on Mondayor listening to this on Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday orFriday, know that there is a

(24:38):
time that Jesus came into theworld, born of the flesh as a
man, died for us, assuming whatwe lost before assuming all,
taking on all of our sins andall our wretchedness, and giving
us life eternal in the presenceof the Father.
He says, whoever believes inhim shall have eternal life.
And we are dressed in love, nolonger in bloodstained clothes,

(25:00):
no longer in the scars andwounds that we've experienced,
but dressed in his love, wrappedin his love, wrapped in his
wings, without fear, because hesays perfect love, have no fear.
We don't have to live in thefear of our traumas.
We don't have to live in whatwe experienced and, like I've

(25:23):
said before, we don't forget it.
But it doesn't have to manageus, it doesn't have to rule us,
it doesn't have to dictate whowe are, it doesn't have to
distort our character, itdoesn't have to mangle us.
We don't have to look in amirror that's broken.
But no, we can look at the Lordand know that in seeing him we
are seeing a reflection ofourselves, a reflection of his

(25:49):
love, a creature that was knownbefore - We're in his womb,
where he says we are alltogether lovely, and there is no
flaw in us.
We could be born in beauty, beauty for ashes, where God's
love overcomes a multitude ofsin.

(26:11):
We can be born in victory, thevictory that is eternal, because
again, once we're in his hands,we belong to Him and nothing
else can snatch us out.
We actually become part of thebody of Christ and again, all we

(26:32):
have to do is believe and speakthat Jesus Christ is Lord, and
believe in your heart that Hewas raised from the dead and
that you will be saved.
Believe in your heart that hetruly did this, that he is fully
God, fully man, even though wecan't comprehend it with our
little human minds, but thereis a God.
There is a God and being God.

(26:53):
For God's ways are far beyondour ways, beyond our
comprehension and some things wejust have to accept them and
not try to figure everything outbecause God says it takes faith
to please him.
If we could figure him out, hewouldn't be God.
He says it takes faith tobelieve in Me and to know Me.
But to know me is to love me,and to love me is to know me.

(27:17):
And you get to know him byreading his word.
So I'm encouraging everyonehere who questions who they are,
who they are in Christ or whothey are at all, anyone who is
suffering mental torment andanguish, to ask Jesus to come to
you and to make you His.

(27:38):
I'm going to read a poem that isvery powerful.
Of course it's directed to thewomen out there, but I would not
deny anyone to be ELECTRIC.
Yes, this poem is called theElectric Lady.
Electric lady, you are consumedand on fire, having heard life's

(28:04):
call.
Expected lady, you are.
Be quickened, it's dire.
Respond, but that's not all.
Expectant lady, you are.
Be quickened, it's dire.
Respond, but that's not all.
Electric lady, you are In yourred, your whites and your
darkened blues.
Selected lady, you are In yourugly Greens and your downs All
shades through and through.
Yes, lady you are.

(28:25):
So walk through the valley, butby and by, wade through
troubled waters, chin held uphigh, hold out your hands and
hope to find only that ofwondrous design.
Let go of your heart.
It is his, not yours and notmine.
Completely sublime, eternal intime.

(28:48):
So get off my cloud all entities, uninvited.
I am God's child, my spirit notcontrited.
I will ride the waves, my cupoverflowing, I will deny the
grave with his blood evershowing.
Go, talk to the hand as I lookthe other way.
Bow down my strife.
It's not you that I praise.

(29:09):
Go, talk to the hand as I lovein his way.
Bow down my deceptor with yourunscrupulous play.
Electric lady I am.
I live by the sword, threshinghills and mountains, one road
that's forward.
Expected lady I am.
My breastplate is on.

(29:31):
I march through the darknessuntil I see dawn.
Elected lady I am, hand on myshield and always on guard.
It's truth, it's willed.
All arrows denied.

(29:54):
Selected lady, I am, A soldieradvancing with his right hand on
mine.
My soul he's romancing.
I breathe, I bleed, I weep and Ifight.
Lady, Answer the call.
And no, that's not all.
I breathe, I bleed, I weep and Ifight.
Lady, put on your armor and youcannot fall.

(30:17):
I breathe, I bleed, I weep and Ifight.
Lady, forge your path, narrowas it be.
I breathe, I bleed, I weep and Ifight.
Lady, take your possessions, not the enemies to keep.

(30:53):
I listen, I seek, I dig deepwith in, I loose the
strongholds that covet me.
I listen, I seek, I dig deepdown in , I smite the weapons
that shadow me.
Bow down oppression! No deaddwell here.
Bow down deception! Your lies,I shan't fear.
I've said it before, I will sayit again, Talk to the hand! I
will allow no more.
If I said it twice, I will sayit thrice, Talk to the hand! Did

(31:17):
you miss THE sacrifice?
Hush and be quiet, unwelcome andforeign! Hush and be still
alien and ill-born!I am the electric lady.
Yes, you are Expected lady.

(31:37):
Yes, you and all your colorsthrive.
Wake up, shake it up, be fly andsore!
Wake up, shake it up, be joy, never the devil's whore!
I am the electric lady.
Yes, you are Selected !.

(32:00):
Yes, you to To your - Be Be !Wake wake up, shake it ! , Do do
it, see to !.
Wake up, shake it ! B e be it,it free to !
For for you are the Electricelectric, the Expected expected,

(32:22):
the Elected elected, and Godlove Selected selected.
You !.
In closing ,be
