this will be one that we doagain, of course, next year and
maybe even a couple of times andmaybe even be another striker
competition.
Yeah? Coach Jess. So Yeah.Maybe. But, so yes.

(01:42):
So the leaderboard here, ourfinals from October, and I'll
just start in 10th place wasactually coach Jess. So
congratulations.

Coach Jess (01:49):
I made it.

Ariah Daniels (01:49):
Awesome. Congrats. Sam and I did not make
top 10, so we were

Sam D'Arc (01:55):
gonna reach up there.

Coach Jess (01:56):
But It was not easy.

Sam D'Arc (01:58):
No. It was a lot of steps this month.

Ariah Daniels (02:01):
Oh, and then 9th place, Spencer Wortham. 8th, Don
Binkowski. 7th, Derek Jones. 6thplace from out in our Hoffman
Estates, JLR store, Adam Reed.5th place, Wes Giancola from our
Byrider team.
In 4th place, Alan Duchene fromKalamazoo. And these numbers are

(02:23):
just so astounding to me, whichis so cool. So 502,000 steps
Todd got in. So 3rd placecongrats to Todd. 2nd place,
Mark Koprowski, also from ourByrider team.
I don't know what Byrider isdoing, but they're on the move.
That's pretty cool.

Sam D'Arc (02:42):
Oh, Byrider.

Coach Jess (02:42):
Out of the top 10. Yeah.

Ariah Daniels (02:44):
4 out of top 10. That's awesome. And then in
first and reason for joining ustoday, IT extraordinaire, Dustin
Cook, is in the studio todaywith 1,010,031

Sam D'Arc (02:59):
1,000,000.

Ariah Daniels (03:00):
A million steps.

Sam D'Arc (03:04):
How do you do a million of anything? Fucking,
your feet moved a 1000000 times.Like

Ariah Daniels (03:11):
What is the average? What's the average over
31 days? I didn't even do themath.

Dustin Cook (03:16):
I think it's somewhere around 33, 34,000
steps.

Sam D'Arc (03:19):
Can we turn to Siri for some knowledge here?

Ariah Daniels (03:22):
Yeah.

Sam D'Arc (03:22):
Hey, Siri. How far is 1,000,000 steps? You walked 5
and a half miles for 90 days. Soyou walked 50 you walked a lot
of miles. I mean, a 1000000steps.
That's incredible.

Ariah Daniels (03:33):
Congratulations, Dustin. And then, I mean, just
even to look at the separationfrom second place to your 1st
place numbers, like, you almostyou doubled everyone else.

Sam D'Arc (03:42):
Flushed them. I have a little blackmail, Araya and
Just, to share as part of thislivestream. So our podcast
audience won't be able to seeit. We'll put it in the show
notes. But we have a before sowhen you walk a million steps,
your body changes, coach Jess.
Correct?

Coach Jess (03:57):
Oh, yeah. For sure.

Sam D'Arc (03:58):
Your your body starts to process calories different.
Things tighten up. Thingschange. Right? So I have a a
before picture.
Can we show the before picture?Dustin, will you get offended if
we show this before picture?

Dustin Cook (04:10):
Go ahead.

Sam D'Arc (04:10):
Alright. Here we go. Check that

Dustin Cook (04:12):
out. Yeah. So, yeah, that was that was,

Sam D'Arc (04:14):
When was this?

Dustin Cook (04:15):
That was, during the marathon, and I saw that
posted, in the group. And, youknow, it's just one of those
moments where you look atyourself and you realize that
you need to make a big change. So

Sam D'Arc (04:25):
That's cool. What was it like in that home? Yeah.

Dustin Cook (04:27):
It was, well, I was not happy with myself, and it
sneaks up over the years, itsneaks up on you. So that was my
come to god moment right therewhen I saw the picture.

Sam D'Arc (04:36):
Yeah. Yeah. So so there's many people across the
auto group to whom you're alike, they look up to you.
You've done something reallycool that's hard, a 1000000
steps. I don't know how manypounds, but that's a lot of
weight.
Like, you're a fraction of theman you were

Dustin Cook (04:50):
Yeah. Yeah.

Sam D'Arc (04:51):
In that picture. What was your first step besides
getting disturbed, gettingfrustrated looking at that
picture?

Dustin Cook (04:57):
I mean, I think the first step is, I mean, just sort
of realizing that you have tochange. That's that's the
hardest part. It's becauseeveryone you get so stuck in
your daily routine. Yeah. Andjust making that first step of,
okay, tomorrow, well, I am goingto eat something healthy
tomorrow.
Yeah. And then the next week, you know, you just have to do
you can't just do it all at oncebecause you're just gonna you're

(05:19):
gonna burn out within a coupleweeks. Yeah. So stepping step by
step over time, it really is theway to go.

Sam D'Arc (05:26):
That is all.

Ariah Daniels (05:27):
No pun intended here. Well and just to put it
into perspective for everyoneand listeners out there, this
picture that, Sam, you'reshowing us is from the beginning
of May. Correct? Mhmm. So Maynow to November here and just
looking at the changes thatyou've made and not only what I
think is so cool to seephysically what's happened to
you, Dustin, but just to see thevitality come out of you and how

(05:50):
you how you just radiate now.
Like, you just I mean, lookingat you even right now, like, you
just look you just look great.Right? So I think that's such an
important important part ofthis. Right? And taking that
first step can be a challenge.
But you have proven that it's itis definitely, something that
anyone can accomplish. So very, very proud of you and

(06:11):
congratulations.

Sam D'Arc (06:12):
I feel like a big step like that requires some
sort of recognition at month endcoach Jess. Can we skip to that
slide? Because Dustin achievedsomething in this area.

Coach Jess (06:23):
Have to share the slide. If Dustin wants to share,
you know, his personal journey, that's that's fine. He was the
health hero for for the month ofOctober.

Sam D'Arc (06:34):
And Congratulations. You know, so

Coach Jess (06:35):
I asked him if I could nominate him, and he said
yes. And he has lost severalpounds. If he wants to share the
amount, he's more than happy, more than willing to do that. I
hope you see And he's done somany behavior changes. We always
say and, Sam, you know this, onebehavior change at a time, and
it adds up.
So And

Sam D'Arc (06:55):
by the way, these behavior changes are infectious.
Right? So I feel like many of usacross the group, like, were
resistant to participating inthis monthly health challenge
for a long time. And then I knowI finally got on board about a
year and a half ago, and it'smade a big change. Araya, your
journey's well known.
And now, Dustin, your impact aswell. So if only if you wanna
share. You don't have to. But,how many pounds did you lose,

(07:17):
and and what do you continue todo to keep that off?

Dustin Cook (07:20):
Okay. Yeah. I'm I'm a dumb about £45 right now from
that picture.

Sam D'Arc (07:24):
That's cool. Awesome. And, you

Dustin Cook (07:26):
know, it's just you mean walking 15 miles a day.

Sam D'Arc (07:28):
Well, you

Dustin Cook (07:29):
don't really have to worry about what you eat a
lot, but,

Sam D'Arc (07:31):
you know, it's, it's So I did the math. I'm gonna I'm
gonna I'm gonna confide in youfor a sec. I did the math with
Siri, and I saw 15 miles a day,and I didn't even say it out out
loud because I didn't wanna putbut that's right. Right? 15
miles?

Dustin Cook (07:44):
That's what I was averaging.

Sam D'Arc (07:45):
How in the heck do you get 15 miles in? Like, what
what are you doing?

Ariah Daniels (07:49):
Can I just say, though, he in October was our,
walk around competition, ourproduct knowledge competition,
and front and center? Yeah.Hitting those steps in. So Yeah.

Sam D'Arc (07:57):
It was a

Dustin Cook (07:57):
big charm and it was just

Sam D'Arc (07:57):
being intentional. How are you doing that? 15
miles.

Ariah Daniels (07:59):
You know,

Dustin Cook (08:07):
you get up before work. I was I was doing some
before work.

Coach Jess (08:10):
Yeah. And then at lunch

Dustin Cook (08:12):
yeah. Yep. And and then at lunch, I would, go to
the gym and I'd lift, and then Iwould do some steps. But, you
know, at night, I had a lot oftime on my hands. And, so I was
just going out there and doingan 8 mile walk.
I went through a lot ofaudiobooks over the last month.

Sam D'Arc (08:28):
That's awesome.

Dustin Cook (08:29):
That was nice.

Coach Jess (08:30):
Dustin, I will say, I get up super early to run
reports on Monday mornings, andI'll I'll usually get a run-in
before that. Like, I'm talking,like, 4:30, 5 o'clock in the
morning. And I'm like, yeah. Ialready got 6,000 steps. But
then I go to your profile,Dustin.
I'm like, he's got 12,000 on it.

Sam D'Arc (08:48):
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. How is it? I love it.
I love what you've done, and Ilove how you got motivated, and
you got disturbed by it, andit's impacted a change. And I
just wanna say on behalf ofeverybody that works with you,
because I work with you day byday, usually you're on the other
side of the camera, you're inthe meetings, running the
meetings. It you are proof thatas we get healthy, we engage and

(09:09):
we connect. And your vibrancyright now is infectious, and
it's awesome to see. So we wishyou luck in your continued
journey, and we'll continue tofollow-up.
Right? Because I assume you havebig what what's next? What's
your next goal now that you'veaccomplished this? Do you have
one or is it to continue?

Dustin Cook (09:25):
It's to continue and, you know, I'd like to see
that low body fat percentage Iwas in the marine corps. So Wow.
I'd like to be down. You know,my next goal would be below 20%
body fat and then see where itgoes from there. So

Sam D'Arc (09:37):
Yeah. That's awesome. I know you'll get there.

Coach Jess (09:39):
Proud of you.

Sam D'Arc (09:40):
Alright. So, Dustin, you gotta hang out with us as we
go into next month's, contest. So what's up for this next month
now that we've celebrated thestep challenge?

Coach Jess (09:49):
Alright. So the holidays are coming. So we're
gonna slow things down a littlebit. So we'll see how you do
this, Dustin.

Sam D'Arc (09:56):
But

Coach Jess (09:56):
we're gonna focus on mindful minutes for the month of
November. So really beingintentional, mindful, taking
some time to slow down as theholidays come and things speed
up. This can include yoga, stretching, meditation. You'll
get one point for each minuteand you'll track these inside
the the app. We are doing bonuspoints this month.

(10:17):
This was Araya's idea and it wasit's such a great idea. Earning
10 bonus points a day for everyone diamond drop, you write
someone as a piece ofrecognition or gratitude. So
hopefully, you guys will besharing a lot of those with each
other as well.

Sam D'Arc (10:32):
Now coach Jess, you said that this includes yoga,
stretching, and mediation ormeditation? Meditation. Very
good. No mediation. No no needfor that this month.
Is hot yoga included? Myfavorite, pass one aside from
lifting. Okay. Fantastic.Dustin, are you in for hot yoga?
Are you going to do hot yoga? Oris it? Oriah? Jess, we all need
to meet at the Kalamazoointentional yoga.

Ariah Daniels (10:54):
I still have a rain check. I need to, I need to
get to hot yoga.

Sam D'Arc (10:59):
I know. Goat yoga? There is goat yoga, actually.
You know what?

Dustin Cook (11:01):
It's funny.

Sam D'Arc (11:02):
The AD of, Western Michigan, I think his wife
teaches goat yoga. Stryker, Ithink maybe, Jess, you may know
more about this.

Coach Jess (11:09):
They do a Stryker does have goat yoga for a day in
the summer months. Yep. Sofunny.

Sam D'Arc (11:16):
That to me sounds like a badge. Oh, wait. That's
terrible. Oh my gosh. Alright.
So how do we track theseminutes? We need to go in the
app and enter them. Right?

Coach Jess (11:27):
We do need to enter them. Yep.

Sam D'Arc (11:29):
So, Araya, if I don't have the app on my phone, how do
I get the app on my phone?

Ariah Daniels (11:33):
Yeah. So you simply go into your app store in
your phone. You download the AMcoached app. It looks like that.
It's orange and purple.
As soon as you download the app,it's gonna ask you for an invite
ID that is Ziegler, and it'sjust gonna ask for your name,
your, email, I think contactinfo, and then immediately when

(11:55):
you get in there, coach Jesswill send you a welcome message,
and you can dive into all thereally great resources inside
the app.

Sam D'Arc (12:03):
Alright. Any last words?

Ariah Daniels (12:05):
Really excited for this challenge this month. I
think the needing to slow down alittle bit, we get so caught up
in kind of the hustle and bustleof thinking about the holidays.
And I already heard a few peopletoday talk about starting their
Christmas shopping, and I'm justlike, oh my gosh. So being able
to just intentionally slow downas we approach the holidays. I
love our added, diamond drop forbonus points just to kind of

(12:29):
help with that gratitude mindsetand be able to appreciate others
around us.
So I'm really looking forward toit and, looking forward to
having new faces join our appand move into December. And I we
won't give too much away, buttowards, towards the end of, the
year is when we'll startthinking about our weight loss

(12:49):
challenge. So Oh. Lookingforward to that.

Sam D'Arc (12:52):
Dustin, you're in trouble because you've already
lost a lot. I know. Those whohave already given a lot, you
you don't got a lot left to get.

Coach Jess (12:59):
I don't bulk up over the holidays.

Sam D'Arc (13:02):
Do not bulk up. Do not bulk up. Alright. Araya,
coach Jess, thanks for all youdo and helping us out. Dustin,
congratulations.
Thanks for being here on thisweek's livestream team, Zach.
We'll see you next month.Meanwhile, go out and get your,
mindful minutes and your hotyoga. Thanks, everybody. A
special thanks to all whocontributed to this week's
