DJ Nick (00:07):
Welcome to a special,
Thankful Sunday edition of the
Dysfunction Junkies podcast.
We may not have seen it all,but we've seen enough.
And now here are your hosts,Chrisy and.
Kerry.
Kerry (00:21):
Hello, Junkies.
Welcome to Thankful Sunday.
I'm Kerry
Chrisy (00:22):
and I'm Chrisy.
Kerry (00:26):
Oh, we got so much to be
thankful for this month, Chrisy,
I think we do.
Oh, I can't wait to get
started.
So we are breached our over2000 downloads.
So we're so excited about that.
In nine countries, in overstates and 152 cities.
We're just growing and we're soexcited.
(00:48):
Thank you all.
Chrisy (00:49):
Yes thank you, we love
watching those numbers go up.
Kerry (00:52):
Yes, and Chrisy's really
good about keeping her eye on
the stats on new cities.
So Chrisy go.
Chrisy (00:59):
Well, we have some
really cool new places that have
popped up and we're alwaysexcited about that.
We had Orlando and Tampa,Florida Yay, Hamilton and
Beachwood Ohio.
Kerry (01:11):
Now those are on two
different sides of the state,
right Hamilton is that downsouth?
And Beachwood?
I'll look to my partner overthere.
Chrisy (01:18):
He knows where all the
places are in Ohio.
Yes, ithaca, new York.
Kerry (01:22):
That's cool.
Chrisy (01:24):
It is, it's cold there
and they get a lot of snow
because I remember I wasthinking of going to college
there and my father said don'texpect to see us for a really
long time, because I'm notcoming to pick you up when
they're unburied in snow.
Kerry (01:38):
Yes, but thank you,
ithaca.
It was also cold in Ohio, wherewe live, until June.
I mean, come on, we had like 40degree weather up until
Memorial weekend.
Chrisy (01:49):
Oh, I'm sure we can
still get there again.
I mean it's a running joke withOhio and our discrepancy in
weather here.
But yes, ithaca, great job.
Thank you for listening.
Lee's Summit, missouri I don'tknow where that's at, I might
have to Google that.
Kerry (02:06):
It sounds lovely, it does
.
Chrisy (02:08):
I think everywhere
sounds lovely.
That's not where I'm atCliffside Park, new Jersey, good
.
Kerry (02:16):
We still got to get a
couple of those other New
England states.
So hey, new Jersey people talkto some of the Rhode Island,
maine and Connecticut I think westill don't have yet.
Chrisy (02:25):
Yeah, we're working on
it and.
La, Los Angeles.
I mean, they pop up every oncein a while, but I think because
of the size of Los Angeles.
Kerry (02:34):
Yes.
Chrisy (02:35):
They show up as new
because we get different areas.
Kerry (02:37):
Right, so like little
suburbs within.
So it comes up as Los Angeles, but yeah, it might be like
Orange County or something.
Right, so it comes up as LosAngeles, but yeah, it might be
like Orange County or somethingRight, so thank you Excellent.
Chrisy (02:48):
We love to see our
growth chart continue to grow,
so thank you, the one otherthing, too, I wanted to be
thankful for and I think thisspeaks volumes about our podcast
is that not that long ago, ourValentine's episode took the
spot as the most downloadedepisode.
It was for the longest time.
(03:09):
It was the most dysfunctionaltime of the year.
Yes, the Christmas episode wedid, we did a few, but that was
the one that people werelistening to like crazy.
And then people discovered theValentine's Day one, which is
crazy Also.
I do know very good.
I think all of our shows aregood, but I understand the
appeal of some of them are alittle bit more ridiculous and
(03:30):
funny, which we love, orrelatable, or relatable, and so
that one has now become the most, which I think will tell you
that when you give us a listen,re-listen, yes, because you will
discover episodes that maybeyou listened to when they were
on.
Yes, but going back and reallylistening, you're going to catch
(03:50):
stuff you didn't catch thefirst time.
Kerry (03:52):
Which is why we started
doing Flashback Fridays.
Yes, so this month, onFlashback Friday, we're going to
have Christmas.
In July we're going to beflashbacking to I believe it was
episode six that was Return theCoat, keep coat, keep the daddy
yes, which I think is reallygood advice.
It really is so we talked aboutChristmas shopping and the
(04:14):
holidays there, so that is goingto be the flashback Friday for
July.
So, yes, yes, what else do we?
got go we have some really greatreviews.
Oh my gosh, I wanted to crywhen I read this one review.
Now, of course, I just pulledit up on my phone.
Oh, here it is.
Okay.
We got a wonderful review onApple Podcast.
The listener says Mama5D andshe says I feel like I'm hanging
(04:39):
out with my best friends whenI'm listening to Carrie and
Chrissy.
What a binge-worthy listen.
Love everything about thispodcast Way to turn dysfunction
into laughter.
Looking forward to moreepisodes wonderful.
Thank you, mama 5d, forwherever you are.
That was a beautiful.
It totally encapsulatedeverything.
Chrisy (04:58):
We hope so, thank you
yes, thank you, that is
wonderful.
We also have another reviewhere from krista in Medina.
She says I am really enjoyingthe podcast.
It is light and fun and reallyspeaks to my stage in life.
And she also says she wants tomeet Nick's sisters, which we'll
(05:19):
have to see about arrangingthat.
Kerry (05:20):
I do have to ask how did
the sisters, did they talk
anything about your dip episode?
Chrisy (05:25):
No Again.
I think maybe they they they'renot listening, Probably because
they know I do pull an awfullot from my experience with my
interactions with them.
So maybe that it's a selfprotecting thing for them Maybe,
but they get to hear plenty ofit, because I always make sure I
(05:45):
let them know, and so does myhusband, that they a situation
regarding them was featured inour show.
Kerry (05:51):
There you go, so another
review on the Apple podcast was
from fingon38 says.
Grew up in Ohio in the 80s and90s, love all the stories and
how relatable these ladies are.
So thank you again for theirwonderful reviews and don't
forget, if you find that youwould like to comment and give
us a review, you can go towhatever streaming device you're
(06:13):
on Apple Podcasts, spotify,youtube.
You can go to our Facebook page.
Leave us a review.
Chrisy (06:18):
We'd love to see and
read your feedback and see how
we can help you more and, if you, have a topic that you might
like to see us discuss that youwould be interested in what our
take, whether we have anexperience with it or not.
We are happy to do that too, because I think, if anything, we
can always have fun and try tolet you know what, how we would
(06:40):
maybe deal with that dysfunctionor you know we wouldn't deal
with that dysfunction.
Kerry (06:46):
I do think that's
something we need to start
looking into, because I've had alot of people start talking to
me and sending stories of thingsthat have happened to them and
so maybe, yeah, we need to startfiguring how to weave that into
one of our monthly episodes.
You know, call it likelisteners speak out or junkie
talk or something.
So we'll work on that.
Chrisy (07:05):
Our favorite dysfunction
of the month We'll have have.
It'll be yeah, yeah, thismonth's favorite dysfunction is
coming from blah blah, blah.
Kerry (07:14):
Hey, when we were talking
about all the states we were in
I think it was like last monthor so I said we were going to
start trying to fill in theblanks, and so I mentioned that
we needed a states.
We needed Arizona, alaska andArkansas.
Well, we got Arizona.
So, thank you to the listenersin Arizona.
Still need Alaska and Arkansas, but since we got Arizona filled
(07:35):
, we're going to the nextalphabetical one, which is
Connecticut.
So, listeners, if you havefriends or family that live in
Alaska, arkansas or Connecticut, please talk to them.
Share about the podcast.
Let's see if we can get them onthe map.
Chrisy (07:48):
Or if you know anybody
anywhere else who's just not
listening.
True, we love it all.
Kerry (07:53):
So, chrissy, we are going
to be talking about some of the
things coming up.
We talked about FlashbackFriday coming up, but I think we
have some episodes on Ancestry.
Chrisy (08:04):
Oh, yes, yes, the thing
that was popular.
I don't know if it's sort oflosing its popularity now, but
over the last 10, 15 years,maybe 20 years, it's become
quite a thing to send your DNAoff in the mail and have people
analyze who and what you are andwhy you are.
(08:25):
And I find this concepthorrifying, interesting and very
dysfunctional, because isn'tthe dysfunction that you know
about enough?
Kerry (08:34):
Now you're digging for
more dysfunction.
Chrisy (08:38):
Good for you, you are
way braver than I am.
That's a good way of putting it.
Kerry (08:44):
Oh yeah, we're going to
kind of go down the rabbit hole
a little bit more about toxicrelationships and creating
healthy boundaries, and I haverecently found that meme therapy
has been really helpful to me.
So I have a collection of memesthat we're going to try to
weave in somehow in some of ourfuture episodes to share about.
(09:05):
Maybe there'll be therapy foryou too.
Chrisy (09:07):
Well, I'm very excited
and interested in that.
I don't, didn't know this was athing.
Is this?
Kerry (09:12):
a thing, memes or meme
therapy.
Chrisy (09:13):
Well, no, I know the
memes.
Uh-huh, I got that Okay.
Kerry (09:17):
I don't know if it's a
thing or not, or if it's just
something I created, but I findmeme therapy.
Chrisy (09:22):
You need to patent that
no.
Kerry (09:23):
Here we go, here we go.
Okay, we need to call ourattorney that helped us with our
trademark and stuff and addmeme therapy.
Chrisy (09:30):
Yes, that is your thing.
Don't let anybody else touch it.
Don't let anybody else touch it.
Kerry (09:33):
You heard it first here
on.
Chrisy (09:35):
Dysfunction Junkies,
that's right.
Kerry (09:41):
So, yeah, we have a lot
of up and coming shows that are.
I think they're going to bepretty fun and possibly
relatable.
So absolutely All righty.
