Speaker 6 (04:23):
Sorry man, this guy's been working hard, man he has
man and I've been hardly working.
Let's hear the stories.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Oh, buddy.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
What do we start with ?
Hold on.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Let's just start with Top Dog for a second, because I
have a problem with him.
First of all, he's been back intown for a few weeks.
Okay, hey guys, I'm back.
Let's get the mics going.
You've had a tornado, and I saytornado because that was the
word you used when you droppedback from the wedding which
we'll talk about.
I called you, I'm like Luis, you're like listen, man, don't

(04:52):
talk to me about the podcast,Don't talk to me about fishing,
hunting, nothing.
I'm in a tornado, I'll talk toyou tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Luis's tornado is like a brisk wind compared to
mine.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
We're going to have a tornado off now.
Who had the worst tornado thissummer of the two?

Speaker 2 (05:08):
skins.
So I'm going to start.
The audience knew that.
You know, come the beginning ofthe summer that Lou was heading
to Portugal.
We talked about it, yeah, and Iguess the journey started there
and let's talk about before.
Leading up to Portugal, you hadto move your shop.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Oh man, yeah, up the Portugal you had to move your
shop.
Oh man, yeah, we, we, I had touh renew my, my lease, and my
landlord uh kind of screwed me.
So I w I went on a a littlerampage there of finding a new
unit and within two months webasically uh found a new place
and put down uh, some dough andand and just dough, and just

(05:46):
tried to make it happen.
But we're still going throughit.
I mean, we've moved shops sincethen, and thank God, because I
don't know if you guys rememberthat we had a huge flood in
Mississauga, right?
So my first shop just gotcompletely flooded, my showroom
just became a disaster.
But you weren't there, right?
No, I was in Portugal when theflood happened.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
But you were still operating out of that place.
We were still operating.

Speaker 6 (06:08):
And my brother sends me a message.
He's like dude, there's watercoming in the shop.
Oh my God, and I'm on the beachright.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
There's water on my toes for a little bit.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
I'm like it's okay, man, don't worry about it.
Don't worry about it, it's okay.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
We're going to leave soon, yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
And then about two hours later he sends me another
picture and there was like theCredit River coming through the
back and right out the frontdoor and thank goodness everyone
was there to pick stuff up offthe floor.
But tell you what?
We had another flood since then.
Or Mississauga had another hugerain downpour and that shop got

(06:44):
flooded again.
And I spoke to some of my oldneighbors there and they said
that the second time was worsethan the first time.
I'm like, oh my goodness, thankGod we left.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
You know what quick story.
I was walking my dogs over thebridge beside Glen Abbey, over
Glen Abbey Golf Course, and youlook down in the golf course and
I'm not even kidding it lookedlike the Mississippi River ran
right through the course.
The trees were like nine, 10,12 feet high trees and the water
was right at the top of thesetrees.
Yeah, how is that?

Speaker 6 (07:12):
possible.
I haven't seen rain like thisaround here in my whole life.
I've lived here basically mywhole life.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
I'm still trying to deal with my basement?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, I mentioned on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I don't know if you guys heard it about.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Dan's basement when it happened.
Oh right, we were talking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Dan was almost going to come to do the podcast with
us.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Yeah, yeah, and he was like Tone my basement's
underwater, yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Well, it's been a wet summer.
I don't even know the last timeI watered the grass and I'm a
grass guy, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
You guys use the sprinklers a lot this summer.
We have our irrigation up in myhouse and it looks like the
grass is dying because it's toomuch water.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Oh right, yeah, you can overwater.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Dan, you have a pool like I do.
How many times did I call youand say my pool's green.
I don't know what to do becauseI'm a new pool owner and forget
the cottage because I wasn'teven there, so I don't even rain
.
The pool was like green andyou're always okay.
Liquid Dan's like you got toget the liquid chlorine and

(08:09):
shock it.
And you'd shock it.
Next thing, you know, the nextday it's green again and the
water's flowing over the top.
That's the problem.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Obviously, it's not a pool podcast, but it's all
about balance and stuff likethat.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Let's talk about that .

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Let's not Our listeners are listening right
now and they'll be like, oh,poor these guys.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
They're cool and they're grass Over Glen Abbey.
Listen, man, I didn't take acouple months off to come back
and talk to you guys.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Oh, here we go, here we go.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Listen, man.
So you're in Portugal and youmentioned to me you were going
to do some really cool stuff forcontent, but you're there with
the family anyways.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
Yeah, yeah, it was a big family trip.
My wife's got her sister thereand her family, my in-laws are
there.
They have a nice place just offthe coast and it's a really
interesting area of a towncalled Avedu and you basically
have the ocean that cuts in tothe land and it turns into

(09:02):
brackish water.
It's where the salt water turnsbasically into fresh water and
then goes back out into brackishwater.
It's where the salt water turnsbasically into fresh water and
then goes back out into theocean again, but the tides move
up so much.
So this little area that we'rein, you can go clam fishing in
the mud.
I don't know if we've evertalked about this in the podcast
before, but I love it, man.
You go there with a littlespear and you find all these
little pinholes in the mud.

(09:23):
You spray a little salt waterthere, they come up, you spear
them, take them out and thenyou're making a beautiful dish
for lunch Clams Casino right onthe beach.
That's it.
That's it.
But no man, portugal was great.
You know.
Long story short.
I didn't do much fishing buttraveled a lot with the family

(09:46):
and it was just a good time toget away from work and all the
other stuff that's going on inlife and just relax and reset.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I'll tell you.
I talked to Lou before he wentto Portugal and he had a lot of
fires to put out before Portugal, so he was a little under the
stress, a little bit.
Then I happened to call himabout three weeks in and on
WhatsApp, and it was a differentLou.
Hey, siege, how's it going man?

Speaker 3 (10:08):
I'm just like oh, I'm doing good man.
I'm like what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (10:10):
He's like ah, you know, I just went for a bike
ride, got my morning coffee.
The kids and I are doing alittle bit of fishing.
I'm like who?

Speaker 4 (10:16):
is this guy.

Speaker 5 (10:17):
You know what I mean?
He was just.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
It was like it was Portugal was his therapy.
I want to go now.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was therapy, but when you landed
you were on the plane a weeklater, right?

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
You're off with the.
Was it the boys trip toDominican or was it to Mexico?

Speaker 6 (10:33):
No, no, no.
As soon as we came back fromPortugal, we, you know I'm
settling in with work, but I hada week later.
I went out for a cousin'swedding.
Carla, she's not blood cousin,we call it, you know how it is.
You call it cousin, primo, primo right, it's Primo Right.
But we went out for a reallyclose friend's wedding and,

(10:55):
funny story, I was the officiantfor this wedding.
What Can you believe that, lou?

Speaker 5 (11:01):
What is?

Speaker 6 (11:01):
that.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Where in the?

Speaker 2 (11:02):
clock.
I've been at a wedding overseaswith Lou before Our buddy James
got married.
Oh boy, and I'll tell you rightnow, you get this guy a few gin
and tonics in.
I'll tell you right now, youdon't have to pay big bucks for
an MC, a DJ and a karaokemachine.
I would pay big bucks to haveLou do that.
That sounds amazing, though.
So were you hired or did they?

Speaker 6 (11:22):
just tell you this is not for hire folks, so nobody
get any ideas.
It's probably never going tohappen again, but I did it for
Carla and the family and it wasfun times.
Let me tell you I can't wait tosee video of this?

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Don't you need a?

Speaker 5 (11:34):
license for that or something.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Yeah, by the power invested in me in Mexico, mexico
.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Like an online thing printed on a napkin.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, that's awesome man, I didn't know, probably not
even really married.
Now how did you say you may nowkiss the bride?
Just say all right, guys, let'sstart making out, let's go
listen, I didn't want to screwit up.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
I told her don't let me wing this because you're
gonna regret it.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
So she wrote everything down, right I read it
I just read it.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
That was it.
That's amazing, and they'restill married, so it's good.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Holy smoke.
So you're back.
You come back from that.
So is that Manny Muskie's?

Speaker 6 (12:08):
Manny.
Muskie's daughter, that's right, no way, that's right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, crazy manyeah.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
That guy knows he's a stick and he's got a beautiful
family.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
He actually one night care of me because I think some
of us had a little too much funthat night and you had to walk
me back to my room.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
No way, he's a good old man, not Lou do you, manny,
drove you back to your room yeah, I wasn't feeling good.

Speaker 6 (12:33):
You know I ate something, I was just.
Can I just narrate this wholewalk?

Speaker 2 (12:38):
for you, and I'm gonna be Manny Muskie.
Hey, louise, listen man, youguys catch bike with all these
fancy lures.
All you need is a dinger.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Why does he sound like the godfather?
I got a 42.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Because, listen man, the last time I saw Manny Muskie
was at his camp, I think it wasyour father's birthday, the
surprise party we had, dan waswith me and I remember your
buddy showed up with all thesecrazy muskie lures that he made
us right.
Yeah, your buddy showed up withall these crazy muskie lures
that he made us right.
Yeah, Georgian Bay.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
Lure Company.
I think it's called GeorgianBay Bucktails.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Bucktails, brandon.
So he's showing off.
See, imagine this.
This guy shows up on a bike andhe's on his bicycle.
And he shows up and we're allthere and he's showing us all
these really crazy wicked likemuskie baits and Manny's looking
and he's shaking his head.
I'm like what's the problem?
Manny Muskie?
Yeah, you guys spent too muchmoney on it.
You don't need any of that tocatch him.

(13:30):
I caught a Muskie yesterday onthis beautiful lure.
It's old school.
So Manny Muskie is old school, but this guy pops yeah, he does.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
He pops.
What's that?
Spinner bait.
He uses all the time thegrinder and the gambler, the
gambler.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Sorry, the gambler you don't need to spend money,
boys.
Those are two great lures, though, when you think about it.
The pink gambler yeah that'sright.

Speaker 6 (13:52):
Oh yeah, that's a little flap tail.
That must have been a trip of alifetime.
Yeah, that was fun, man.
It was good.
Good memories Great.
What about Hookset?
Where's he been?
I?

Speaker 2 (14:01):
was going to just say .
Now, on the other side of themic Hookset this guy.
It was almost impossible toeven get him on the phone.
There was a stretch where Ididn't talk to Dan for almost a
week and I'm like something'swrong.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
What kills me is that I was actually away, but this
guy didn't go anywhere Exactly.
So what's his?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
problem.
Well, listen, we talked aboutit, siege, because we were on
the mic and we're.
You know, we always talkedabout the boys and dan, you were
in some serious, serious liketrenches.
Yeah, we got busy fast.
You got busy fast and I mean wecan't really talk about much of
it because of the ndas you sign.
I'm sure every day you'resigning ndas, but you run some
pretty big feature films this, this, this summer big feature

(14:39):
films.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
I actually had to cancel my portugal trip this
year.
We're gonna go with the familyin august and I had to cancel my
Portugal trip this year.
We were going to go with thefamily in August and I had to
cancel it because it just gottoo much.
It's too much and yeah, big, big, big, big shows and a lot of
trucks and a lot of showsperiod.
The industry just blew up.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
And we're talking.
When we talk big shows, we'retalking Netflix, we're talking
Amazon, hallmark.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Yeah, we even did some Disney stuff.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
I heard maybe a big YouTuber as well, the biggest.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Yeah, you got to tell us some stuff I'm not going to
say who it was, but I guesseveryone can figure it out which
just wrapped recently.

Speaker 6 (15:14):
The YouTuber.
Is that a Mrs, or is that a Mr?

Speaker 5 (15:17):
I don't know.
It's someone on YouTube.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Mr.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Monster.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
And it was a big, big , big big YouTube production
with Amazon and it just wrappedand we're talking the biggest
thing we've ever done.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
That's crazy to hear that a big production is coming
up like YouTube.
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
Yeah Well, this guy's big enough to have a production
behind him like Amazon Right, and he'll get the ratings.
And that's what Amazon wantsand Netflix wants that too.
Every production wants that.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
So picture this you feed, let's say, 100 people, 150
people On an average show On anaverage show.
It's hard work, man.
That's a full team.
They're dedicated to that crewevery day.
There was days where we'retalking thousands, thousands of
people.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
So we have 26 trucks now, and we had at one point, I
think it was like 23 out everyday.
Yeah, it's nuts.
It was crazy.
It was crazy.
It's probably like the mostever in the industry.
It's insane.
And the average show, likeAntonio was saying, is like 100
people.
We'll do 85, right, 150 is adecent day and this show that we

(16:26):
just finished up had 2,000 aday.
Wow, do you know how much popand water that is?
It was skids, guys.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
That's like your trucks have just skids of pop
and water going to sites everyday there was a day I called Dan
and he's like there's maybe 12skids coming in here to the shop
right now.
I can't talk.
We got to unload these skids ofpop and water and juice and
whatever.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
There's 22 skids every week of just pop.
That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
And imagine that.
So you have out of the 23trucks.
How many trucks then were onjust that one feature?

Speaker 5 (16:59):
Well, we started off with three and then we went up
to eight and then it's 24 hours,so they would come back.
We'd have to rotate.
It was a 24 hour operation forseven days a week and it lasted.
I believe this is like week 12.
So, yeah, it was eight trucksat one point, which fed 2000
people.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
And when you say fed, this is 24 hours.
So imagine this you gotbreakfast, you got your
substantial, which is like asnack.
Then you got lunch, then yougot to yeah, you got your
substantial, which is like asnack, then you got lunch, then
you got to do it all over again.
So every nine hours, see, you're popping food.
Like, like, think of, think ofhow the managing that hook set
had to do because he's not outthere cooking anything, right,
you can't like you who's outthere, it's almost like the

(17:39):
quarterback.
Right, you get into the huddleit's like, okay, you're doing
this're doing this, you'rerunning here, you're doing this.
So he had to do that for 3,000,2,000 people.
Just on one show we had 20, no16 other trucks going out
feeding 80 to 100 people a day.
So the math you're what?
5,000 people a day.
We were between 4,000 and 5,000people per day.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
That's crazy, that's like a concert.
When you guys told me when Igot first introduced to you guys
in your business I just thoughtyou fed actors.
So I'm thinking show has howmany actors?
20 actors.
I didn't know it was backgroundlighting, crew, crew, yeah, and
that's crazy Directors.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
And then it's the phone calls.
Jesus, when you have this manyshows, it's this many problems,
right.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Were they eating a lot of elk sliders or Venison,
or was it Just Feed them?

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Gaming I think a lot of those people are allergic to
elk.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
No bison sliders.
They'd make up a storysomewhere where they're allergic
to something.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
So Hooks, that's been in the trenches, it's finally
coming now.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
You said that they actually just announced the
winner of that show, which Ican't really say that's right,
but it was the biggest grandprize ever announced in the
history of the world, history offilm, everything.
So it was like a game show Iguess we could say, guys, this
guy won the lottery.
So they started with 2,000contestants, they went down to
1,000.
Then they kept going slower, smaller and smaller.

(18:58):
And yesterday, this morning, was the winner this morning, and
this guy won the lottery.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Was it a guy or girl?
I don't know.
I don't know how much did thewinner win.
I do know.
Good question.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
I don't even know if I could say that you can say how
much they won.
Okay, let's say it's more thanfour and less than six Million.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Five, five, five million dollars.
This guy won five, or girl wonfive million dollars From a game
show.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
Basically, this person won five million beans.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
From a game show.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
From a game show.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
Yeah, I don't think I've ever heard of any game show
.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
No, it's the biggest in the world, Luis.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Biggest one ever you know what's crazy is when I
think of the show alone, they'reonly making $100,000 for the
winner.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
And they're out there .

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Those people are dying.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
They're eating berries and bark.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
So I went to set up, yeah for 100 Gs.
We had to go to set a coupletimes just to see.
And you got to see this set.
It's incredible.
The set's something I've neverseen and I've been on the Star
Trek Enterprise guys.
I was beamed up.
John Luke Picard yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
I was beamed up.
You got beamed up.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
I got beamed up.
We're be.
Tone was there with me and ChefGreg was there with me.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
So this one, this set , was, first of all, it was like
40 acres worth of propertywhere just sets and houses were
built because contestants haveto live on set and the
contestants had to live on set.

Speaker 6 (20:18):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and that's why I had to feed them
24 hours.

Speaker 5 (20:20):
It's 24 hours, man.
Where else are they going to go?
That's interesting, holy moly.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
If you think of a loan siege, like you just said,
those are 24 hours.
Yeah, think of Big Brothershows like that.
It's 24 hours.
The camera's always rolling.
So if you watch any of those, okay, we're not going to talk
about a loan because everyone'ssecluded and they had to film.
There's people behind thosecameras constantly editing.
There's directors, they'resetting up.

(20:44):
So while they're filming onthose 40 acres, there's a crew
setting up the next day andthose people have to eat.
They got to drink, they got todo all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
I actually can't wait for that show now.
Yeah, me too.
So we say dance in the trenches, but I guess you're in good
trenches for a business guy, like it wasn't bad trenches.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
Business wise was fantastic.
Yeah, that's good to hear.
So in other words, you're richnow, oh yeah, can I borrow?

Speaker 5 (21:08):
Super rich.
Okay, I will sponsor the wholepodcast.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Oh, we got a new sponsor.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
This is brought to you by Hookset Martins.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
ladies and gentlemen, I've been away for a while and
I've heard some great news, man.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Can we talk about it?
The boys are back.
See we got to fill them in now.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
What the hell is going on We've had some
phenomenal guests.
I wish you were here for a lotof them, but we get it and we've
had people reach out to us,some excellent sponsors that
we've been doing business withfor many years, and I'll let you
go ahead on the first one there.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Well, the first one was a guy that Daniel and I has
known for years.
This guy started up as a salesrep for Gordon Food Service back
in the day, back when Dan was.
It was just catering.
We didn't even have a craftservice company and I'm not
going to mention his name.
But this particular sales rephas moved on.
He's become a rep for a very,very popular in-home.

(22:07):
You know where you can purchasefood at your local grocery
store, walmart, etc.
Yeah, big retail division Bigretail division and we were
happy for him.
We're, like you know,congratulations.
You know, gfs was more targetedtowards the restaurant industry
or food service industry and hemoved up.
So he just dropped in a fewtimes and there was one point

(22:27):
where he was selling 5,000pounds of brisket and I remember
calling Dan because we were.
He just moved into Rangeview atour other shop and I was like
what can we do with 5,000 pounds?
And it was just too much.
We didn't have the freezerspace, refrigeration space, and
it was just in purchasing inbulk Stuff that might have.
The expiry date was coming upand in grocery stores there has

(22:48):
to be a certain label or acertain date that you can serve
to the general public without itspoiling.
Then you got to freeze it.
So he had all these deals goingon.
There was one day he walked inthe shop just recently and the
timing couldn't have beenperfect, and he asked me if we
were interested in purchasingsome bacon and I said, well, you
know, we, we sell a lot ofbacon on set and we just started

(23:11):
talking and then the outdoorscame up.
Man, it was just.
It was just one of those thingswhere, like you know the
podcast and we're with you know, odj, and this is what we do.
And I said would you beinterested in, you know, teaming
up with the eating wild podcast?
This is what we do.
We're food, like you got tothink about it there.
So we're talking about lou'skitchen, okay, and it's perfect,
because we got lose a jerkright in front of me.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
So lose sponsoring the show.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
It's not lose not wait a sec no, no, no hold on.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
So we got.
Dan saw a logo somewhere oflou's kitchen.
Yes, lose, and it's not mine.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
No, it's not your, it's not your logo, man, but you
will see this logo everywhereyou go.
If you go into the grocerystores, they do prepared meals.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
I've noticed it now.
Yep, they do prepared foods.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
And they got brisket, they got teriyaki, chicken
salmon, they got bacon.
It's all packaged stuff forpeople that don't have much time
to cook.
They go home, they heat it upand you have a family meal like
that, buddy.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
My family's been using it before the sponsorship.
They have a really good Phillysteak and all my wife pretty
much had to do was heat it up.
And we have four of us in ourhouse, all sandwiches, beautiful
.
And that's before I heard wehad a podcast or a sponsorship
with them.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
They've been around for ages and so we teamed up
with them.
It's just a foot in the door, something small.
We're using them for the muskybrawl.

Speaker 6 (24:26):
So Lou's Kitchen is one of our new sponsors.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Lou's Kitchen is now teamed up with the Eating Wild
podcast and the relationship hasjust started, luis.
But I will tell you this rightnow it will go a long way
because we are perfect.
Our listeners, it's families,it's people that want prepared
food and prepared meats andstuff that you can just heat up
and serve.
And again, you can find thisstuff in any grocery store chain

(24:51):
.
You know what's good about thisstuff, tony, sorry.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Go ahead Is if you are going on a trip where you go
to your grocery store, you buya couple packs of these products
and it's good to go.
It's so easy, you don't have toslave over it, you don't have
to do anything.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
You heat her up and you go, and we brought it to our
ice fishing trip once, exactlyWithout them sponsoring us.
We had it in our freezer whenhe gave us a bunch of samples
and stuff.
Yes, yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
And four, five, six people in your hunt camp, Didn't
?

Speaker 6 (25:18):
we eat.
That was delicious.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
That was delicious, all you have to pack is the buns
Pretty much.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
It's microwavable, you heat it in a pot with water,
it's easy to go.
Yeah, the one thing I would sayabout Luz that for us so back
to what Dan and I do is, again,we serve mass amount of numbers.
So, like their packaging ismore targeted for family of four
, family of six, maybe even two,so I mean for our listeners,
siege, it could have been abetter company to team up with.

(25:46):
So and then, after it's so funny, once we got them on board,
siege called me up and somebodyelse was knocking on the door.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Yes, I'm so happy about this sponsorship because
I'm just very excited for it.
It is Extreme Marine London andI've been dealing with them,
for you guys know long time I'vebeen dealing with them, for you
guys know long time I've beendealing with this guy.

to the podcast.
He likes the chemistry and, like a lot of people, they like

(26:14):
the chirps.
I don't know what's with thechirps.
I think they can relate to thechirps.
That's so fun.
So he has a location in London.
He just has a new one now inKingsville too.
Kingsville, kingsville, ontario.
So it's not far from Windsor, leamington area.
Okay, so he's got you covered, man, and he is authorized

Yeah, so it's Legend Crestliner.
He's got a new one calledstabby craft and he wants us to.
He wants the foreskins to testout one of these boats because
he wants to prove that some ofthese small boats the hook's not
driving that go ahead

Speaker 5 (26:56):
they can say give me that boat for a bit.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Oh yeah, let's go back in history here dan's not
not driving the boat.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Okay, well, that might be a part of the contract,
but yeah, so they're verydurable boats and this guy does
everything.
He's not just sell you a boat, you'll service it.
But you can buy electronicsthere from the major brands.
They'll install.
Yeah, they install.
They do storage, storage, everything, man, everything.

already done business with andyou already made that
relationship.

Speaker 6 (27:30):

that.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
You know what I love, man?
I love that while I was away Igot a lot of messages, a lot of
love from people online sayinghey, man, I miss you.
On the podcast it's not thesame.
No one's chirping smash.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
And this is a true story.
I can back this up.
I can back this up because meand Lou just went to a beautiful
show this past weekend and Idon't know if we could say the
name of the show.
Yeah, you can.
The Tactical Show, what's?
It called TacCon.

Speaker 6 (30:33):
See, do you know it?

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Tacom, tacom, tacom, show Tacom.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
And Amanda Lynn Mayhew was there, sweetheart.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
Yeah, yeah, sweetheart.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
She hooked me and blew up bracelets for the kids
and air fresheners for the car.

Speaker 6 (30:45):
Oh, I love her air freshener.
It smells like forest airfreshener, pine and dirt.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
I don't know how to explain it.
I got one for you.
It's in the car.
It smells great.
It's weird that I like thesmell of like dirt yeah.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
She told me she's like, it smells like dirt.
I go.
What do you mean?
It smells like dirt.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
It's like old leather smell.
I like that.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
It was great.
It was also great to meet a fanof the Eating Wild podcast.
Oh yeah, my buddy, brian.
Brian, you're a beauty, and, uh, you know what the problem is
with Brian, though, yeah, telleveryone.
When I met Brian, he told me tomy face the show isn't the same
.
I'm sick and tired of hearingShowtime and smash his voices
and, where the hell is, lou andhooks at.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
I got the same messages on Instagram.
What's your problem, man?
No, from Lou's cousins.
Hey man, where's Lou?
I'm like you're his cousin.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
What did you find out ?
Where's Lou?

Speaker 6 (31:39):
folks Louie's dad texted me that oh boy, I can't
hear this.
It's good to be back.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
When's the last time we fished together, boys, oh man
.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Me and Dan did a one during the craziness we got out
for.
It was almost a maintenancedrive just to go check on our
boat.
Poor boat, poor boat.
Batteries were dead.
Anyone who wants to buy a boatcontact Siege.
Slide it in the ground.
We got out there for maybe anhour or two and we didn't see
any.
I got one bass.
I got a bass and it was justnice to get out for a few hours,

(32:06):
to be honest.
But more or less it was just tocheck on our boat.
But, siege, we haven't beenfishing together for a crappy
trip.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
I think I've been the most fishing out of this group
all summer, I think oh yeah.
I'm popping, but I can't waitfor the four of us to get back.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
I what a waste changing all my line this year.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Absolutely.
I got to talk to Dan Cause it'sso funny, dan.
Dan was telling us all aboutthe new stuff he was buying and
then see different stuff.
Siege is like why is he buyingall this stuff if he's never
going to use it?

Speaker 1 (32:33):
I told him he needs to buy free time.
It's half price right nowEating Wild Podcast Code 50 for
free time, but he's a collector.
He's a collector and maybe thatwill be worth money if he's
still new in the box.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Dan's always the technical guy.
We all know that we talk aboutit.
I was telling.

Speaker 5 (32:49):
Siege today on the way here that I like buying this
stuff, just to look at it.
I really do.
I have my setup in the garageand in my basement I made a new
hunting room, which is amazing.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
It is nice, it looks nice.
I love it.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
Yeah, and it's all lined up and I look at the line
all fresh and beautiful leaderstied on, no nicks anywhere.
It's all clean and I'm likeperfect.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
That's why Dan hates me.
Perfect, he can't stand when helooks at my gear.
Hanging on the ceiling withlures still attached to it.
Leaders are all fray boys, frayed line everywhere.

Speaker 6 (33:21):
What are you doing with this?
But hold on.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
You know, what made my day Was when Dan lost a
muskie.
Was it a muskie on LSC?
How?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
could that make your?

Speaker 3 (33:28):
day.
No, you lost a fish man you didman?

Speaker 2 (33:31):
You did On your own braid that you tied.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
No it was your leader , so here's the thing.
I love it.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
It's true, because I didn't lose nothing, didn't lose
nothing.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
Just saying Go ahead.
Here's a story we're startingnow.
Because of this, hold on.
Because of that day, I willnever buy another leader again.
I'm going to be making my owngoing forward.
Hooks that takes.
Right here folks.
They use Hooks that takes righthere folks.
They use clamps on the leaderand the clamp that I purchased
at a specific I don't know whatstore it was.

(34:01):
Actually it was somewhere wherewe went musky fishing.
I'm not going to knock thestore, it's not their fault.
Got a strike, set the hook gone, opened up, lost my lure lost
the fish lost, everything,everything's gone.
What I did have was half theleader still with the clamp
still on one end of the leader.
So the clamp gave out.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
So you actually could see that the line came out of
that, of that clamp.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Yeah, that's right.
It was on the main leader partand the loop was off.
The crimp, the crimp clampthingy yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
I want to know what brand this is, so I don't buy it
man.

Speaker 5 (34:33):
The problem is I threw the package in the garbage
.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
I think it was one of those local guys that made it.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
I don't know, but those are usually pretty good.

Speaker 6 (34:39):
Usually yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Usually those musky guys know what they're doing
Exactly.
Was it LSC?
Yeah, it was right.
Yes, okay, because it was me.
You just like what the helljust happened From now on.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
I am never buying a leader.
I'm going to make it myself.
So I went in and bought 150pound full of carbon and I'm
doing a boatload of research onthe best knots.
I'm looking at guys fishing for600 pound shark what leaders
they use and knots.
So I ended up using one thatPete Mania uses.
If you can't go with him, jesus, that guy's the musky king,

(35:15):
yeah.
So that's what I'm going to tryout this year.
And I bought new swivels.
I bought new of those clampthingies, whatever they're
called.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
I just thought you said you don't like crimps.
No no no, no, no, oh, lockswivels.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Snap swivels, yeah, but I don't like when the snap
is attached to the swivel.
The swivel's on one end and thesnap's on the other end.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
So you're tying line to Fluorocarbon to swivel, to
swivel, exactly.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
That story makes me sick to my stomach.
I know Because you never knowon LSE what fish that?

Speaker 5 (35:44):
was, or what size it was, and you know what Sage, I'm
pretty sure it was a 56-incher.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
Oh, I'm glad you brought that up, because I'm
going to go out to G-Bay thisweekend for the first time in
like two months, which soundsbrutal.
You mean all year.
Yeah, pretty much.
And Tone, you told me todaywhat came out of G-Bay this last
couple of days.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
So I got a beautiful visit today from our friends at
Campus, crew Tim, and we weretalking and again he was like oh
yeah, listen to the last part.
He's actually up to the Frankand Chris episode with the Ugly
Pike Boys and he sent me thisarticle from this guy on
Georgian Bay just recentlycaught a 56 and a quarter inch

(36:32):
musky boy.
Is that big Siege?
I don't know.
I can send you the link Siege,so you can share it to our
listeners Great question.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Listen Lou To say well, it's a trophy, so so yeah,
it's a big fish.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Is that six 56 and a quarter Siege and there's
pictures I'm going to send it toyou.
It's on the bumper board itholding the whale.
But again, we always talkedabout this lou.
You took me to a few few spots.
You know, snake island was oneof the places that the first
time I got to see.

Speaker 6 (36:59):
I don't know why you're saying names.
No, I don't know why we get theserpent island, serpent island,
our north 35.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Okay, relax all right getting there, brought to you
by antonio malecca listen, man.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Okay, I went fishing with lou.
He took me to the island, wecasted, we didn't catch anything
.
But I seen something that wasincredible and he had a couple
follow-ups, he had a couplestrikes on his Medusa and, like
you said, you never know whatthe hell that was.
You have no idea.
And when you see pictures likethis you're losing your mind.
And I know that's why guys sayyou know the heavy musky.
Guys say, oh yeah, you know LSC.

(37:34):
We don't want to fish LSCbecause you know it's like an
aquarium, this and that, butGeorgian Bay, you have to work
for it but it produces massivefish.

Speaker 6 (37:41):
You still got to work on LSC.
Guys you do.
How many times we've been toLSC?
We get scum.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Exactly Lots of times .

Speaker 1 (37:47):
It happens I.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Siege.
You just went out recently toLSC with the champ and yeah, we
got skunked.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
We raised two fish.
I had one on.
It was a really bad hook set onmy part.
Yeah, cody told me about that.
Oh, sounds about right.
Yeah, but yeah, man, it happens.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
Were you upset, siege I heard you almost pulled a
tantrum.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
I did.
I think Cody saw a side of methat he's never seen before.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
I'm sure he was so scared Siege.
Yeah, he'll put you in an armlock no no.

Speaker 6 (38:19):
Did he curl up on the boat and say no Siege, you guys
always know how it is.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Don't be mad.
Oh man, I miss this Siege don'thurt me.
I love how I can't finish thesentence.
I miss this.
I want Cody on here.
I got to talk to him.
You know how it is missing abass it sucks.
You know how it is missing agood Walter it sucks.
When you miss a muskie, it's adifferent level.

Speaker 6 (38:43):
You never know when you're going to get that.
I think missing a muskie isprobably the biggest heartache
of all the fish, missing amuskie that you can't see.

Speaker 5 (38:49):
If you can see it and you miss it at the net or
something, okay, at least I'veseen it, yeah, but when you
can't see it, you always assumeit's the record.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Of course it wasn't huge by any means.
It came up because it'ssummertime, so they're going to
pop up more right In the warmwater, and it was a good.
It wasn't even.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
it was the tiger because it had a real dark back
to Tiger King.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
Oh really.

Speaker 6 (39:13):
And we start a siege.
I think you're onto somethingand it's all about tiger musky
fishing.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Yes, oh, never been done.
Don't Google it.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
No other musky you know what we better edit this
out, because someone's going tosteal that idea.
I'll call Netflix, call.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Yeah, you're tight with Netflix.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Hey guys, remember me , I got to tell you something.
You're going to Georgian Bay.
This is going to be great, butaround the corner is big fish.
We got smallies, we gotfootballs, nickels whatever you
want to call them and boys, it'spop season.
Brother, are you pumped?

Speaker 6 (39:44):
That's why I'm not so bothered about fishing during
July and August.
Good point.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
A lot of guys are like that by the way that we
talk to.

Speaker 6 (39:50):
I'm not.
I'm not.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
I know I agree, Luis.
The problem is not doing it forso long you get such an itch
bite.

Speaker 6 (39:58):
Buddy, we're rusty as Look.
Siege missed a ski because heprobably didn't set the hook
properly because he hasn't beenfishing much.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
You know what?
That's a great thing to say, lou, because I've been bass
fishing all summer, so you knowwhat I mean.
But it's not a muskie, no, andthat's what I mean.
I said it like it was a bass.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
That's what.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
I'm saying I've been fishing it all summer.
It's like riding a bike, guys.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
Oh yeah, sure, here we go, here we go.
He's pretty confident, hey,luke, yeah, yeah, he's a
confident guy.
I'll tell you right now I'llget the biggest musky on LSE
this year.

Speaker 6 (40:30):
Saying this from a guy that what you're saying, oh,
that's a great thing to bringup.
Are you entering the brawl?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
One year I will find time to enter the brawl and I
think it's amazing.
But this year I don't think Ican.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Should we talk about the brawl a little bit Lou.
Speaking of the brawl, goodquestion.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
Eating Wild podcast, which will be the 50-inch
platinum sponsor.
That's what Dave Gray called us, by the way, I didn't make that
up.
Does that come with a trophy orsomething it might Siege?
Best looking guy in town?

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Oh, Lou is here.
What Sorry, no Lou, ThanksSiege.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
Anyways, listen, we're going to have Dave on soon
.
Guys, we have Dave Gray comingon very shortly to talk about
the musky brawl.
That guy is handsome man, he'sgorgeous.
Jesus, the chin on that guy, woo, when he puts his hair back
like that.
Okay, I mean what?
Okay, so musky brawl is comingup Before the musky brawl.

(41:19):
Before the musky brawl, are wegoing to try the four skins
before the pop season?
Are we going to try to get outand fish or are we just getting
geared up for the hunting?

Speaker 5 (41:27):
season.
I was thinking about that.
Let's go on a fish, just thefour of us, before even our
October trip.

Speaker 6 (41:32):
We need to loosen up a bit.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
I need to go to G-Bay .
Man, I need to go.
I know you're going on theweekend with the fam jam G-Bay
has no fish I went with Luis, didn't Tone just say there was a
56?

Speaker 4 (41:46):
Why would?

Speaker 6 (41:46):
you even say that Listen, and I know everyone's
going to say this guy wantsclicks, he wants clicks.
You're crazy Dan this.

Speaker 5 (41:50):
You're crazy Dan this guy wants clicks, You're crazy
Every time I go with Luis we getabsolutely skunked, and I'm not
counting catching three or fourbasses not getting skunked.
That's skunked.
So that's my take on G-Bay,Honestly man.
Hey guys prove me wrong, Holdon.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
This reminds me of a time that me and Dooch took Dan
to the frigging river.
We went to.

Speaker 5 (42:11):
Pennsylvania.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
And we river.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
We went to pennsylvania and we were, we
were so pumped because riverfishing again.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Well, I'll say it again this is my backyard, okay?
No, it's not stupid, relax.
Okay, it's also pop season forsalmon right now, but we're not
even talking about it, okay, yeah thank you.
We take dan across the border.
We go to pennsylvania like anine hour drive and and we get
there.
It was a nine hours relax, man.
And what happens it?
The river's chocolate milkblown out.
And this guy I'm so upsetbecause I've been talking about

(42:39):
it so long and this guy's likeriver fishing is stupid.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
There's no fish in river fishing.
Do they even have?

Speaker 2 (42:44):
teeth, oh my God.
So like, yeah, he goes toGeorgian Bay.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
I guarantee the conditions were brutal.
Yeah, no, conditions werewonderful guys.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
It was probably really hot, it was hot.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
Yeah, it was hot, it was beautiful, it was sun.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
I'll tell you, I had the best day of my life.

Speaker 6 (42:58):
Best day of my life was with Luis.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
When you and I went, I was light out the day you guys
had with Sean on Hunter's Bayyou and Luis is the day I had
with Luis on.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Georgia Bay minus the muskie, you can't say that to
the hotel we were popping.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
I got a 42-inch pike, biggest pike I've caught all
year.
We got a bunch of snot, rockets, but then the bass we were
getting smallies on top water infront of people while they're
having their marshmallows over afire.

Speaker 5 (43:23):
It's like what is it on Sesame Street?
Is it Pokeroo or is itSnufferluffagus?
You don't want guests to seethem, because when I get there,
there's nothing, because when Iget there there's nothing.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
All of a sudden there's nothing, right, guys?

Speaker 5 (43:35):
We missed him again.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
So explain that again , dan, for our listeners, what
you asked, because sometimessomehow when Luigi bites me
there.

Speaker 6 (43:44):
So the fish on Georgian Bay are pokaroo, I
don't know, or.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
I am.
Maybe you never see them, Iguess so.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Oh my God, that's brilliant.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
It's the same thing.
Okay, man, it's the same thing.

Speaker 6 (43:55):
You know what?
There's been many times where Isaid look, I'm going this
weekend, the weather looks great, you want to come?
Ah, ah, right, you know what hesays he goes.
Ah, I'm a little busy man.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
I'll fish with you any second, anytime.

Speaker 5 (44:11):
Yeah, I don't get that at, I'll go with siege
right now.
Whatever, yeah, I will listen, but you two first of all first
of all, okay, you son of a.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
Okay, so hook set, he gets on the water, he's quiet,
and it's like on our crappytrips, man, he's quiet, he
doesn't you know.
But then he always, he alwaysproduces, he always produces.
He's a.
But you are very technical.
We talked about this before.
You always have the right gear, the right baits.
You can't wait to use thesebaits.
But one thing I will say aboutHookset you have to agree with

(44:43):
me he brings out the stupidestlures.

Speaker 6 (44:45):
Yeah, and I love it, he does A lot of times, look a
lot of times he brings them outand we think it's stupid.
And then, a year later, that'swhat everyone's using the.

Speaker 5 (44:54):
Shadzilla, shadzilla, I'm telling you.
My daughter must have been one.
It was 16 years ago the firsttime I threw that Shadzilla at
Lacquer Lodge in the western armof Nipissing.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
I say every 10 he brings out two hits Like two are
good.

Speaker 4 (45:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:15):
It's good odds for fishing, though.
All right that you know what Imean.
Yeah, you know.
It's funny.
My son took up, I guess, himand his buddies he's only 16 and
he went fishing with hisfriends and I was the happy.
I was like a pig and shit.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, my son is like dad.
Do you have like gear for me?
I'm like gear let's go.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
That kid was the best looking fisherman on the river
I had I got an old tackle box.

Speaker 5 (45:28):
I'm like keish, let's fill this up.
We filled it up.
He was the only one who caughtfish.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
He was probably wearing all Sims gear.

Speaker 5 (45:34):
He found this random pond, not too far from home, and
I gave him some top water.
He's like I go, you got to tellme what are you fishing here?
What are you fishing?
I need to know what you'refishing.
He's like dad, I think there'sa lot of weeds and stuff.
Perfect, here you go, let'stake this, let's take this.
I just bought some.
He used them.
He came back home, dad, I wasthe only one who caught fish.
There you go.

(45:54):
Then I'm thinking, wait asecond, these things have
troubles.
How'd you take the hooks off?
Kid One of his buddies.
His dad gave him a set ofpliers, took them all off.
These kids were good to go.

Speaker 6 (46:04):
I was so happy.
That's how I grew up, man.
That was great.

Speaker 5 (46:08):
Were they doing a fish to golf course area?
I don't even know where it is.
He won't even tell me.
He's already like that.
He won't even tell me where itis.
It's probably where he goes andsmokes weed.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
It's legal why would you say that.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
It's legal.

Speaker 5 (46:22):
First of all, it's a family show man your kid's 16
years old and he does that inthe backyard man.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
It's all legal man.
It's under parental supervision.

Speaker 6 (46:34):
What's your problem?
I'm joking, man, I'm joking.
I'm sorry, but that's how youget people hooked, but I was
happy man.
I'm hoping you got this.

Speaker 4 (46:40):
You get hooked on what?
No, it's how you get hooked onfishing.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
Oh, okay, okay, I love those stories we talked to
Corey Johnson, who we had on asa great guest, which he heard,
and he said the same thing.
How did he?

Speaker 1 (46:59):
start fishing, siege his father.
His father, you know if danhooked up quiche with a, with a
setup and he got those fish.
That's how you get hooked, man.
So we all got hooked.
We had one guy you guys knowthis guy uh, williams arms guy
and port perry, and it was hisgrandmother that got him into
hunting.
So it's just that one personthat episode.

Speaker 6 (47:12):
I'll be honest, while I was away, I think that was my
favorite episode.
He's awesome.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (47:16):
Because that was such an interesting story.
Yeah, how this guy hasParkinson's and you met him.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Lou, you're the one that actually gave me his
contact, because I reached outto you and you had the business
card with his name on it.

Speaker 6 (47:24):
That was such a cool story.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
That's when you almost bought that, sold it the
week after we left.
It was a great price too.
Oh my God, it was such a goodprice.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
Anyways, I'm happy now I got my pop and when he
told me he hunts wild boar withhandguns.
That's so cool, that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (47:49):
He called him a gangster by the way, sideways,
is that how it's done Is?

Speaker 6 (47:54):
he on the low low, that's a kill shot.
I heard, yeah, it's a kill shot.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
But yeah, we're popping.
I mean, we got our trip comingup in mid-October, so by the
time this airs we'll be a coupleweeks out.

Speaker 5 (48:05):
Speaking of our October trip.
Here's the problem with ourOctober trip that I feel, and
this is me always overanalyzing,I guess Yep, what are we doing
in this trip, guys?
Are we bass fishing, muskiefishing, deer hunting, duck
hunting, maybe some walleye inthe mix, partridge hunting,
partridge, walk the bush a bit.

(48:26):
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.
How are we going to have timefor all this, guys?
I?

Speaker 1 (48:29):
know it's a good problem to be in.

Speaker 6 (48:35):
I a good problem to be in.
I'm tired of shit already.
I'll be honest, when I go therethat's what I'm looking forward
to is just getting a taste of alittle bit of everything,
because we haven't done much.
Now, the difference this yearand I want to make an effort and
guys like my buddy Brian he'sbusting my chops to say let's go
hunting that's amazing.
My buddy John he's busting mychops to say let's go hunting

(48:57):
that's amazing.
My buddy John, who his brotherwon one of those.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He messages me all the time wewent fishing to Georgian Bay
before I went to Portugal.
Actually, he's a great stick.
By the way.
These guys are like pushing meto do more.
Like besides us, you know, andI feel like we're so busy doing
our thing, but like sometimesyou need other people to to push

(49:21):
you to do stuff.

Speaker 2 (49:22):
I think the podcast has opened the doors to that.
People want to fish and huntwith us.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
All you know I'm kind of jealous by guys, that guys
and girls that only that onlytarget one fish.
You know how much easier thatis.
You look at Chris and Frank.
All they go after is muskie.
What do they bring with them?
Muskie gear, muskie gear, usnut bars.
We have to take a sprinter.
Yeah, the trucks are full.

(49:46):
And then, not to mentionhunting.
I want to know, lou, what areyou most excited for this trip?
What's the one thing you?
That's what I was going to askeverybody.

Speaker 6 (49:54):
Okay, the one thing that I'm excited about the most
is when Smash and I do our walk.
Oh, that's romantic, that halfhour 45 minute walk through the
bush and we go to that one pondthat hardly anyone goes to and
they hold hands.
And every time we go there wemiss a million ducks.

(50:16):
But there's loaded.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Like you start shaking because you don't know
what move to make.

Speaker 5 (50:20):
You guys have to understand.
The duck will hear you beforeyou even see the thing.

Speaker 6 (50:24):
But, dude, they're sitting in the pond while we're
there.
You don't think they're thataware, guys?
Of course, of course.

Speaker 5 (50:29):
I got a question for you too.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
Ducks are made to be eaten by other animals Off topic
will you shoot and not flyingSome hunters and I agree, I
prefer when they're flying only, but I mean some people.

Speaker 6 (50:42):
I don't discredit anyone, but would you If it's
the last day and I don't haveany ducks.

Speaker 1 (50:49):
I'm popping it.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
There was a time last season when me and Lou just
going back on what the storyhe's talking about.
So me and Lou have done thiswalk probably three times, and
the first time we went was withSean.
He took us, he showed us thethe way.
The second time we went on ourown and the seasons were so
different because we were goingearlier like we've been going.
We've been going on an opener, like we were going in.

(51:10):
The ferns were still green, there was berries everywhere.
We're still seeing poop fromlike bears and moose everywhere,
like it was just.
I think the timing might'vebeen, it might've been too early
, but every time me and Lou havewalked us three times now 45
minutes, and the whole timeyou're stealth.
You don't want to make too muchnoise, cause you know once you
get to the end of the point it'sloaded.

(51:31):
And then we have the sameproblem we don't know what, like
.
What do we do?
Do we start calling?
Do we want them to be in theair?
They were still.
They were flying in.
It sounded like jets.

Speaker 6 (51:40):
I feel like all four of us need to go there Two guys
on the island and two guys onthe other side and kind of do
what Coach and Gags did whenthey pushed the birds our way.
I like that.
But they even surprised us,because we didn't know it was
just happened.
Yeah, it just happened Like wesat down and all of a sudden, a

(52:02):
flock of birds comes flyingacross us at 100 miles an hour.

Speaker 5 (52:06):
But that's not an hour of excursion.
You need to do that super early.
Get there before they evenstart landing.
That's what we need to do.
Our problem is we go there anhour before.

Speaker 6 (52:20):
We would always go there, like in the middle of the
day, when there was nothingleft to do, and they were
already there.
If the lake is blown out and wehunted in the morning, can't go
fishing.
There's not much left to do atthe camp.
Let's go walk that trek.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
And for our listeners .
We generally used to go alwaysafter Thanksgiving, and this is
a great time where we're going.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
A video of me, you and dan when it was snowing and
we're on lake nos bonce and soall the leaves are down.
I want to go.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
The leaves are down the grouse, it's so much easier.
They're going to be thumping.
That's what I'm most excitedfor is is grouse.
I just love the way you guysI'll pop them, lou will pop them
and then the way we cook grouseup.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
Oh, buddy hook set, Give me some Cool Ranch Doritos.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Cook set made the best grouse I've ever had in my
life, and that's what hooked meonto that bird.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Talk about it.
What did you do?
It was so soft.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Well, we were.
It was crazy because it wasprobably our first.

Speaker 6 (53:15):
We talked about this a million times already.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
I don't remember that was the pretzel one, wasn't it
Not the pretzel, it was thepretzel one.
So, hookset, and we gotlisteners that are just joining
our podcast now.

Speaker 6 (53:25):
All right, tell them again.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Basically, we've had Coach on one of our first
episodes when the Eating Wellpodcast started, and Coach his
name is Coach because he coachedus through it all and it wasn't
just the popping, it was himcoaching us through how to
prepare this, Cleaning it,Cleaning it, stepping on the
wings, pulling on the legs, andout comes his beautiful breast
and Hookset.
Just you know, we use ourelement Siege when we're cooking

(53:49):
.
It's whatever we have and wefigure it out.
And I remember Dan had pretzelsand he smashed all the pretzels
in the bag, threw thatbeautiful breast meat in that
bag, coated it in the pretzels, deep fried it and we had buffalo
butter.
Buddy, it was like eatingboneless chicken wings, but with
I don't know.
There was just a littledifferent flavor to the

(54:09):
partridge or grouse and that, right there, hooked me.
I was hooked and it was like Idon't know why we're going after
ducks all the time.
We should just be going afterthe bush chicken.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
They're so good.
And then the wood ducks.
I don't know what's yourfavorite thing on the trip to do
, Dan.
Is it the fishing or thehunting?

Speaker 5 (54:27):
Oh man.
So this is what I was going tosay is I'd almost prefer deer
not even open on our trip.
So it takes an option.
That's so true.
I would almost prefer that andgo back up for a deer if we had
to, if we had time.
So I think nothing to me.
I'm so like conflicted betweenthe two because I love duck

(54:49):
hunting but I love sitting in atree stand.
It's the most peaceful thing inthe world.
You do that the most of all ofus.
There's times you guys go duckhunting and I'll sit in the
stand.
Yeah, I just find it.
It's so peaceful for me andthat's what I need.

Speaker 6 (55:01):
But that's also why you fall asleep.
And then you miss, I know, butit's part of it, man you miss
the deer.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
The only guy that smokes a dart and drinks a
bright ginger in the tree stand.

Speaker 5 (55:28):
People say that's what I need with the hectic
here's my problem with, withdeer hunting.

Speaker 1 (55:32):
I always want to be with you guys.
Yeah, and, and that's like tome if I got like a 12 point buck
or whatever.
Yeah, and that's to me it'slike catching.
Uh, my biggest muskie to todayis 52 inches.
Yes, and it's not the 56 thattone caught.
So celebrating that by myself.

(55:53):
I, I know you guys we call onthe phones and we get the buck
and all that.
There's a really cool, don'tget me wrong, but I want that
guy there to net my fish, I wantthat guy to high five, I want
that guy to hug and it's justespecially we don't have a lot
yet and we don't have a lot oftime together.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
So, like I mean, I will, I re, I will rebuttal you
this on on on that siege, because you are right, there's a
lot of times where we want tosit together and Gags is like no
, you know, we're better off allsplitting up, because the odds
are better, which I agree it'sso true.
That year me and Louis went up.
It was just the two of us and Ishot that buck.
It was pouring rain and Iremember texting Luis because

(56:31):
the thing came in my standwithin 20 minutes and I texted
Luis.
I was like buck down and he'slike, really, I just got in my
stand.
I'm like buck down, don't worryabout it.
Yeah, stay in your stand.
I thought you were full of it.
He did think I was full of shit, which is, you know, 90% is
true.
No, it's not.
Listen, I heard his bike start.
I heard his bike start.
I'm walking following the blood.

(56:54):
Respond to the group text.
It was just Luis and I heardhis bike start in the distance
and he comes flying over Siege.
He attacked me and we werehugging each other and it was
the same experience as if he wassitting next to me.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
I get that.
Yeah, it really was.
We shared that together.

Speaker 5 (57:09):
Here's what we'll do this year.
We won't go on a tree stand.
I do have double tree stands, though, so set up there, nice.
We can go in a ground blind youand I.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
Yeah, it's good man, tom, what would you prefer to do
?
Would you prefer to be in aduck blind with your four
buddies, or solo?

Speaker 2 (57:26):
You know what?
When me and Lou did that walktogether.
I would never do that walk bymyself.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
Well, he proposed too right, did you say yes to the
dress?
You guys are in a vlog together.
You're just jealous.
I am man.
They're gorgeous.
I think duck hunting isdifferent.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
I think we could all be in the same proximity of each
other, where you know we spreadout across the dam, you're with
Dan, I'm with Lou, or viceversa, whatever, and you know
those birds are going to come inthat general area.
If it comes towards you guys, you guys pop it.
If not it comes around thecorner, we pop it.
So we're there together At theend of the night.
We all go and collect our duckstogether.
Deer, on the other hand, isdifferent, because I feel like

(58:02):
when somebody is next to me andif I'm the one, let's say I'm
the one sitting and watching youpop, you need the room, you
need to focus, and if that thingcomes in, just sitting there
next to you, I would have thefever just as much as you did.
And I get it, it's the highfive, it's the net in the water
You're bringing in that fish.
But I still think, for me, theexperience like Dan said, when

(58:24):
he's sitting alone, I get it,and that deer comes in, and only
you get that experience, onlyyou gets programmed in your mind
.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
I think my problem is I'm a nut bar, because when I
fish, how do I fish?
Fast, let's go.

Speaker 6 (58:38):
Fast, fast fast.

Speaker 1 (58:39):
Jerk bait Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
And when we're duck hunting, when they come in it's like
Hiroshima.
You got outdoors.
Add, I do, man, I really do.
I'm going to get a t-shirt thatsays that, because I really
think I have a problem with that.
Maybe I should.
What's your problem?

(58:59):
I can't sit alone.
Pop, I got to pop with action.

Speaker 5 (59:03):
I'm the most calm guy in the world.
Come sit with me.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
I think that's what it is, Tony.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
I think you got to sit with Dan for your first pop.
I got the most patience out ofeveryone.
I have patience.

Speaker 5 (59:12):
I'm telling you, we'll set up a ground blind.
I'll get one.
We'll set up a ground blind andyou and I will sit there for a
deer this year.

Speaker 6 (59:18):
I don't think I could do a tree stand with two guys.
I could I think?

Speaker 2 (59:21):
a ground blind would be better, you know why it's
another shoulder to sleep on.

Speaker 5 (59:23):
I would love it.

Speaker 2 (59:26):
You got a lighter.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
Light my dart man.

Speaker 6 (59:30):
Put your head on my shoulder, you know and this
comes with safety as well.

Speaker 5 (59:36):
I will fall asleep on that stand.
Just please make sure you guyshave your harnesses on.
You don't want to fall 20, 30feet.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
The only time I've ever been in a deer, blind by
myself, I fell asleep.
I love it, though it's crazy,it's nice, though it is relaxing
, but I think I'm addicted tothe action.
I think I'm just like with duckhunting when they come in, it's
boom, boom, boom, boom, boomboom.

Speaker 6 (59:56):
Hit or miss.
I like to say that last yearwas the first time I sat in the
deer stand, the tree stand, andI saw a lot of action.
No bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Right All fawns and does.

Speaker 6 (01:00:09):
I remember that that's nice and as soon as they
walk in, you know from far away, you're like, okay, here's a
buck.
And of course it wasn't a buck.
But you know, the juices startflowing, man oh yeah, the heart
starts pumping, you start goingand you're sitting there by
yourself and there's no onearound and it's kind of cool,

(01:00:30):
right.
But having just the same doescoming over and it was probably
three hours of watching NationalGeographic and I started
getting pissed.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
But that's why you got to get your doe tag we
didn't get the tag.
I didn't do it again this year.
It was in June, we were busy, that's the thing.

Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
I don't want to shoot a doe, I want to get a buck.
I want to put antlers on thewall, like the rest of you guys.

Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
You're saying that because it's your first one
right.
That's right, but after myfirst, that's right.
You get what you get.
Yes, this brings me to my nextquestion.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
My next question I have for all you guys.
I'll start with Dan, because Ialready know his answer.
If, dan, you're in the treestand, whether with Siege, or
you're by yourself, and a spikecomes to your pile or to your
area within 50 yards, are youtaking it or are you waiting?

Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
Because it's us and we only do this a handful of
times a year.
Not even I don't want to takeit, especially on our property.
I want that thing to grow.
Hopefully we get it in a coupleof years.
And you've already gotten aspike and I did already.
Good point, that's right.
So me, I would let it go Now.
I'm not knocking anyone thattakes that thing down.
Take it down, no problem.

(01:01:38):
Everyone's got the right to it.
It's all legit, all legal, let's do it.
Let's put some meat in thefreezer, no problem.
I would let it go because Ialready got a spike and I want
our property to thrive.
I want it to get big, let's getbig.
I'll get you in five years fromnow.
Good answer, that's what Iwould do.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Before I answer that, I have a question for you guys.
No, sorry, lou, sorry.
You know, with fish you eat thetwo pounders, right, the
smaller walters and all that.
Yeah, is that the same withlike with deer and all that?
Like the?

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
bigger.
So the coach told us that onetime.
Think of it.
Yeah, it's like veal, you know,if you take a fawn at the end
of you haven't gotten that buckor the doe, the meat's going to
be beautiful.

Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
It applies to the same thing, so an older buck
won't taste as good as a spike.
Well it's a great question.

Speaker 6 (01:02:24):
People are going to have different answers.
I think naturally yes.
Unless that buck is eating themost beautiful food in the world
, the average fawn is going totaste better than the average
buck.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
I wasn't sure about that.
But if an eight-pointer comesto your stand and then there's a
fawn and a doe which is veryrare that that happens all at
once but you're going for thebuck, aren't you?

Speaker 5 (01:02:50):
Everyone is.
You're not thinking of the meat, you're thinking of the antlers
and you want the antlers, youget the meat with it, of course.
Well, you get the bigger meat.
You want the trophy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Everybody's looking for the trophy, but if you know
in your mind that you're freezerpacking, your chances are that
that Vaughn is going to bebetter quality meat, I think.

Speaker 6 (01:03:04):
I don't know.
It's a good question, thoughit's a loaded question.
I don't know you want more meator better quality so you know
what?

Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Do you know what that is?
That's a good question.
A buck, a buck.
Why do they call it a buck?

Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
Let me think here.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
I don't know, I never heard of that Because the first
American bought it for a buck.

Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
Yes, that's what it was for trading.
So that's what they called it abuck.
It was worth more, I justguessed.

Speaker 6 (01:03:30):
No, that's 100%.
Are you serious?
100% right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Because I looked it up, you know me right.
So, yeah, so it was when theywere trading and all that.
The buck was worth more.
So it was like a buck, like adollar, so per amount of skin
and everything like that, whenthey were doing trading.

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
I was wondering why it has horns.
So that means it can buck youRight I didn't know right Like a
bull.

Speaker 6 (01:03:55):
That's a great question yeah like a bull,
that's a great question, yeah, well, back to the original.

Speaker 1 (01:03:59):
Oh sorry, sorry, man, I get crazy when I'm with you
guys.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
We got to wrap this show up quickly.
But what are you doing ifyou're in the ground, blind,
with a hook set and a spikecomes in front of you and let's
say, hook set says you know it'sfor whatever reason, it's not
in his range or he wants you topop, taken it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:15):
I have the tag and everything I'm taking, it You're
taking it, I'm taking it.
I've never ate the deer weharvested, but I never got one
on my own, so I would take thespike I'd be pissed at him.
If he didn't, I would.
But after that, but after thatspike, once I pop my spike
cherry, I would go, I would holdoff after that.

(01:04:36):
Yeah, I would do what, dan, yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:04:38):
And again we're a little bit.
We're not like the averagepeople because Tony and I can
just call right, we can getanything we want.

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
It's true, that is so true, man.

Speaker 5 (01:04:47):
Dial a buck.
I want our property, exactly.
I want our property to grow.
I want it to be massive.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
That's a good point.

Speaker 5 (01:04:54):
Maybe I'll take my kid one day and that same spike
my kid five years from now.
That's going to be his trophy, right.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
And I get it If you're living off the land and
you guys are filling freezersfor your family and you.
I get it.
Yeah, me too.
You want to fill your freezer.
Can we stock our camp withbucks?

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
You know how the?

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
ministry you can come in and get like walleye loaded
in by helicopters.
We'll get airdrop bucks I.
You know how.
The ministry you can come inand get like walleye loaded in,
we'll just buy helicopters.
We'll get airdrop bucks, I betthere's people who've done that.
While there's farms?

Speaker 6 (01:05:25):
No, I bet I don't know, man, this is an
interesting question.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
Well, I hear Marine Land's closing down, so maybe we
can go get a couple of theirbucks and bring them up.
Buy those whales, take all themoney.

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Then take all the dough that you just made on that
big show and buy Marineland now.
Did you believe that Hook saidI caught a beluga Is that a
trophy fish.
Well, listen, man, we got towrap this episode up.

Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
I'm so excited.
The four skins are back.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
We got some material we're going to be hopefully
making together, can we?
just do a two-hour episode.
You know, listen, we're hereall night.
I don't care, I'm not goinghome.
I already told Andrea theForeskins are back.
It's going to be a long night.
Call the Uber.
But you know what I got to askyou guys, we're getting together
.
We're back Eating Wild, thepodcast I you even mentioned.

(01:06:18):
You were honest with me.
You're like Tone.
There was a point where youcouldn't even think of it
because there's so much going on.
We talked about the tornado, but we've been together our
whole lives and this podcast isnow something where we get
together more often.
Siege comes down from Londonnow and what are you excited
about, buddy?

Speaker 6 (01:06:36):
I got to hear it.
Look, the only reason why wehave this podcast is because
we're the foreskins, and and andbefore the podcast and after
the podcast will always be theforeskins, and that's the best
part of this.
So, well said, I'm, I'm, I'm soexcited to get back in the
swing of things with the boys,to do our trips, to get back in

(01:06:57):
the bush, to get back on thelake, back in the boat and just
enjoy the outdoors, man, becausethis is the season and, look,
life is busy and a lot of ourlisteners are doing the same man
, there's not too many peoplethat are living on the boat and
in the bush, and for those ofyou that are, you guys are lucky

(01:07:20):
, man, you know, enjoy it whileyou can, but you know, I grew up
in the city and this is my lifehere.
But getting out there as muchas I can, that's what I'm going
to do now.

Speaker 1 (01:07:28):
That's well said bro, well said, and the best thing
is he's coming back in the fall.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
You know what Lou?
That's the best.
When Lou does something, it'sat 100%.
We all know that we can go backto the sportsman show.

Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
He was the first one in, first one out, like handing
stickers to kids.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
And you know people texting us saying where the
hell's top bag?
Oh yeah, so you know just thefact that you're back and listen
.
There's going to be a lot ofpodcast siege where the four
skins aren't together.
We got some really cool guestslined up for the fall season
Hunters, fishermen, chefs.
We talk everything on thispodcast, but there's something
different when the four skinsare together.

(01:08:04):
Siege and we've talked about itfor the last two months.
And what are you lookingforward to, mo?
Siege, like having the four ofus together over these mics and
sharing stories is one thing, but actually going out there
together, like Louis just said,it's always about the four skins
man, always it is man andthere's nothing better than
waking up in the morning andsomeone starts the boat, gets

(01:08:27):
the coffee and we, we.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
This is organic, organic, like.
Look at our nicknames.
A lot of times people thinkthat our nicknames were made up
because of the podcast buddy wewere just on jamie's show, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
And you guys got to hear this.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Okay, they opened the show, so they reached out to
Siege and Jamie's like listen wegot to what's their show?
So it's Untamed Pursuits and itwas funny because they reached
out to CJ.

Speaker 6 (01:08:53):
These guys are new on our network.
Yes, it's Jamie, jamie from theTacklebox.
Yes, it's Jamie from the TackleBox.

Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Yes, of course he's got an unwriter who is
unbelievable.
This guy's knowledge.
You guys have to listen to thispodcast.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
I got part of our network.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
And he reached out to Siege and he's like hey, can
one of or two of the four skinscome on my show?
And I remember it was the nightbefore and Siege and I were
playing Call of Duty and he'slike hey, tone, he, we're
playing Call of Duty and he'slike hey, Tone.
He's like Jamie just reachedout to us, can you jump on the
podcast tomorrow morning?
Lou's busy, dan's busy, I'mlike you know what We'll make it
happen.
And we got on his show and thefirst thing they said to us,

(01:09:27):
siege, was they made nicknamesfor each other because of our
podcast.
So Ryder was Air Miles, yeah, nicknames.
But then they changed it onpart two.
I don't know, they're all overthe place Sticky.

Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Hook.
I know we're running late onthis episode, but that was the
question of the day was about.
We haven't gotten into ournicknames and why our nicknames
Right, and a lot of people dothink that these nicknames just
came from the podcast, butthey're wrong.

Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
We talked about that, didn't we?
I think in one of the first orsecond, I think, the first
episode was Hooks at Martin.

Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
Why is he Hooks at?

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Martin.
Well, have you seen?
The guy set a hook right oh man.
So you got Jamie was asking us.
He's like.
You know, I got air miles.
Why?
Because he travels all aroundthe world and he hunts.
Right, he's a rider.
He's crazy.
This guy pops out there, sotheir podcast is very
interesting.
But back where you were sayingabout the nicknames, it's crazy

(01:10:21):
how the listeners bring up thesenicknames that they want to
make for each other because theywant to be part of the foreskin
.

Speaker 6 (01:10:27):
I'm sorry, I'm laughing.
Let's do it.
I want to hear these nicknames.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
I love it Hook set.
Everyone knows the expression.
Hook sets are free.
You got to do them, dan, justdidn't matter what fish.
And the next thing, you knowthose poor crappy you see a
crappy just go in the air andgot him.
We got him, got him and thenever since, then and top, top

(01:10:53):
dogs is obviously like.
I mean using the top water czarspook, nobody does.
And then you gave me minebecause everyone thinks oh,
showtime.
You know it's pop, pop, pop.
But my thing is, if I'm on theboat it's a show.
I might not be catching fish, but I'm singing stupid songs.

Speaker 6 (01:11:09):
No, no, no, you got showtime because when it counts,
when we're in tournaments, youalways show up.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
It used to be the Flying Siege, yeah it used to be
back in the day.
We're going back.

Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
It used to be the Flying Siege because of the
drink you used to make us whenwe were teenagers.
Yeah, I got so many namesCracker, jack, cracker, jack,
yeah, yeah, but Tone the smashIn the kitchen and
Self-proclaimed bud.

(01:11:43):
You heard Gags was the first oneto smash.
I always said I was like Ismashed this, I smashed that and
this and that, but you, youdon't just smash on the water in
the bush.
Where else do you smash?
In the kitchen?
That's it.
I hook fish and cook fish.
It's what I do.
So there's your answer.
We've we've had that question alot on instagram and it wasn't
put together for this podcast.
So we're like, yeah, let's giveourselves names and stuff like
that.
Like you know, like a radio, like a radio DJ DJ Danny Thunder
.

Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
We got to get Hookset back with the Hookset takes.
That's going to come up veryshortly in the episodes that are
to come.
But it's great to be backsitting down with you boys.
Oh, so good.
And we do have some crazyguests lined up, Siege, just to
close the show out.
Man, you got to tell the boyswho we've been talking to.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
What's in the pipeline for the eating wild
podcast?
Pretty much every elite bassfisherman unbelievable, you know
and turns out they don't justpop bass, they cook, and that's
up your alley.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
And we have one special guest that has been
confirmed.
He's coming with us.
We can say to the folks is jpto rose?
Now, jp to rose?
You said it, you know, talkingabout bass and technical guy,
like I always think of Dan whenyou think of JP DeRose very
similar, but this guy cooks likea maniac.
He cooks Traeger, all thatstuff.
Sweet, this guy.
And we did send him some spices.
He's been using our spices, soI'll talk to him about that.

(01:12:49):
But you mentioned it, man, wegot the Canada bass coming up.
Yes, and I want to ask you guys, before we go, if you are the
team captain, okay, of Canada,of Canada, you're the team
captain.
You guys don't even know.
I'm going to ask you thisquestion.
You're the team captain Rightnow.
How fishing is going Dan?

(01:13:10):
I'll start with Dan, because hewatches this literally every
Saturday morning.
And if you had to pick teamCanada right now, dan, you have
six anglers, six, six and wecould.
They don't even have to beBassmaster, elite guys, they
could be Sticks, it could beSiege.

Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
You know what Well Siege is there for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
You should change the question and ask Dan for Team
USA, because the guy knows hedoes.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
But, dan, it's the Ryder Cup bud.
You're team captain Hookset's,the team captain who's your top
six Canadian anglers to gorepresent us in the Olympics.

Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
Top six, top two I'll give you two.
Personally, I'll give you two, okay, go ahead and I'm the
captain.

Speaker 5 (01:13:44):
You're the captain, so I'm part of the team, so I
need five more.

Speaker 6 (01:13:45):
No, you suck, so just pick someone else.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Yes, you are part of the team who's with you on your
boat and who's the other four?
The other five.

Speaker 6 (01:13:53):
Five can name five dudes.
Okay, I'm taking Siege for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
So you're with Siege.
Okay, that's a huge team rightthere.

Speaker 5 (01:13:59):
No, offense to the other two idiots here.

Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Well, you're Go ahead , sir Siege is my assistant

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
I'm taking Siege.

Speaker 5 (01:14:18):

Speaker 6 (01:14:35):

mentioning Pete.

Speaker 2 (01:14:38):

Speaker 6 (01:14:40):

Yeah, it's me, pete Ashley Ray.
Oh, she's been lighting it up,my friend.

Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Yes, if anyone's noticed, female angler top Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:14:51):
And someone who flies under the radar, but he is one
of the best sticks in Ontariobass fishing.
Daniel Hooks at Martin JoeMazinski.

Speaker 5 (01:15:00):
Oh, that's a huge team.
Yeah, I haven't seen him in awhile.

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):

Speaker 1 (01:15:06):

This guy, he can read theelectronics.

Speaker 6 (01:15:28):
He knows what he's doing.
Yeah, maybe that's all he cando is read electronics.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
I'll take Dean myself and he's going to fish with Mr
Chong Got to go with.

Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
Chonger yeah, he's good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:38):

And then you got Dino's teamright with Chong, and then the
Johnson brothers Me One, two, three, four, five, six.

Speaker 1 (01:15:56):

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Degagne Sleeper team.

Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
What I'm not done, Next is going to be I picked you

Really You're going to underestimate Dan.

Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
Okay, go ahead Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
So for my other ones it's so tough, man, I'm going to
have to go with Taro Morado.
That's a good pick.

Speaker 5 (01:16:39):
And then Cody Kovacek .
I've seen him pop bass, Ithought you were going to drop
the J in there.

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Jay Siemens, he's a good stick too.
He's a good stick, but the bestthing is, if we lose, cody's
going to beat everyone up andwe'll take the cash and run Well
, cody and Gags, cody and.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Gags.
I've seen Gags dance.
That kid can dance, but Cody,he gets paid for it.
Man, I don't know, yeah.
And then we got Taro Taro's astick and a half.

Speaker 5 (01:17:03):
Yeah, they're all good teams.
I think Luis is the worst, butours are all good yeah yeah,
sleeper team right here.

Speaker 2 (01:17:08):
Dan, I got to ask you this, since you are the elite
fishing pro when it comes towatching TV.
Us there's so many and itchanges so much.
Right, dude, I thought thisepisode was over.

Speaker 5 (01:17:23):
No man, we're going.
Man, it's a two-parter.
Here's a question as of now,the Johnston brothers are top.

Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
They're on fire.
They're the angler of the yearfor Chris, and then Corey just
came off of St Lawrence.

Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
And the classic classics coming up too, isn't it
?
Yeah, yeah, what do you guysthink of Jacob Wheeler?
Could he compete in this man?
Because to me I think so.
He's probably the best Americanfisherman in the world.
Like, not in the world, but inAmerica he's got to be the best.
Oh man, Jacob Wheeler is a sickguy.

Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
How about the Martin brothers Brandon.
The Martin brothers Brandon?

Speaker 5 (01:17:56):
Polonek.
Well, not the brothers, it'sjust the dad and son Dad and son
Brandon Polonek.
Yeah, Polonek's up there tooall the time.
Chris Saldane, yeah, they'reall sticks man, but something
about Jacob he just doesn't loseman, oh man.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
You could even go into with the Canadians.
You could go into the JP.
What about Mercer?
Does he bass fish tournaments?

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
He'd be a good stick.
Well, he's usually on the mic,but yeah, he's a good stick.
Yeah, it's a great stick.
Yeah, man.

Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
Well, how about Bob?
Oh, we forgot about Bobby,Jesus Christ guys, bobby, yeah,

Speaker 6 (01:18:31):
Good stick, huge stick, buddy, that he's known.
He's known for a reason thatguy can fish man, yeah, those
guys.

Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
He's got history here .
Sleeper sticks that a lot ofpeople don't know these
household names.
You know that could justperform Dude.

Speaker 6 (01:18:47):
Joe Mazinski just won another tournament recently.

Speaker 5 (01:18:49):
Yeah, that guy is nuts.
He's really good.
I would love to see a top fiveCanadians against top five
Americans.

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Well, that's what this tournament's about.

Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
I know.
I know yes.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
Yeah, so it's like pretty much they're painting the
picture for like Olympics.
So you have Team Canada USA.

Speaker 6 (01:19:04):
Mexico, Japan.
They actually have a tournamentlike this happening next week.
That's it, oh really.

Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
I think Dino and Andrew are going down.
They're hosting it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
That's hosted by Fisher Pan Am, Pan Am, Black
Bass.
Yeah, yeah so that's a greatconcept, because what they want
is eventually.

Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
Olympics.
Yeah, that's their goal.
That's their goal.
Their goal is to be in theOlympics.
But I don't think the Johnsonbrothers are in that, are they?

Speaker 5 (01:19:24):
No, they're invited.

Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
But they have it's too busy man.

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
So Team Canada, like I mean, is Gussie.

Speaker 5 (01:19:33):
Is Gussie, is Coop, is some other sticks that are
just like.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
He mentioned it on the part two.

Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's right towards the end.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):

We had him on the show while wewere at the show.
The Asian fellow who owns thetackle shop.

Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
Jasper, jasper, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:49):
Pro J.
They mentioned his name too.
Jasper might be a huge part ofthat tournament.

Speaker 5 (01:19:54):
I.
I think Scott Martin's in it inthe American side and I think
Jacob Wheeler's in it, yeah, andI don't quite know the rest of
the other.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
B-Lat.
I don't know if B-Lat's in it,but he's my favorite.
Brian Latimer yeah, he's myfavorite.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
Well, if there was a Team.

Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
Canada for musky fishing.
I'd pick all three of you guysto be on my boat and we'd win it
, that's easy.

Speaker 6 (01:20:17):
We might not have fun , but we'd be the best looking
boat out there and it'd beentertainment.

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
It'd be entertainment .

Speaker 5 (01:20:24):
No fish but imagine all the shit talking.

Speaker 6 (01:20:26):
We would do.

Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
I think you'd see the cameraman fly overboard.
If you missed a fish, lou, there goes the camera guy in
boat two that looks like theEating Wild team.
Oh, lost another one.

Speaker 1 (01:20:36):
Do you guys believe that Corey Johnston was like
throwing up on the boat?
Yeah, I've seen it, and fromthe waves, and he still wins the
tournament.

Speaker 5 (01:20:44):

she's like oh that's Chris, ohthat's Corey, and she knows all
the names.
