This week on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast, hosts Geordie & Michelle look at two rock’n’roll tragedies …

Anyone growing up in the 1990s will remember the beautifully talented yet maudlin musician Elliott Smith. Rising to fame and even being nominated for an Oscar for his song Miss Misery, which featured in the film Good Will Hunting, his songs were clever, insightful, sad and superb. He had the world at his feet, but a troubled past, alongside addictions and mental-health issues, led to the singer being found dead in his home on October 21, 2003. This week, Geordie looks at what happed to Elliott Smith. Was it suicide? Or was foul play involved? Listen now to find out more…

Michelle follows with a mini-dive into the life and death of INXS front man Michael Hutchence, inspired by Geordie’s recent look at Flame Fortune. In the 1980s and early 1990s, Aussie rockers INXS were one of the world’s biggest bands, with lead singer, Michael Hutchence, considered the ultimate rock star. Yet a fateful assault in Copenhagen changed everything for Michael, ultimately leading to a personality change, bad relationship decisions and his death in a Sydney hotel room. What happened to Michael Hutchence? Did he take his own life? Was foul play involved? Was it a sex game gone wrong? And what happened to all his money? You’ll have to listen to find out!

So pop on your headphones, grab a brown lemonade and join Geordie & Michelle for this week’s rock ‘n’ roll episode, plus telly recs, chit chat about silver lamé and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ podcast. And remember, wherever you are, whatever you do, just keep Eavesdroppin’!
