productive.
Let's dive in Today on thisepisode.
We are going to talk about whytraditional scaling methods and
(01:06):
traditional business systems donot work for creative and
spiritual entrepreneurs.
I have worked with so manyentrepreneurs over the years who
are implementing or want toimplement scaling methods into
their business, probably becausewe have heard that's something
we should do.
(01:26):
There are people out there whoare like I don't even really
know what scaling means.
So let's start there.
When we are talking aboutscaling methods or business
systems, these are very broadterms, right?
So basically, what we aretalking about is activities that
you do in your business thatyou can somehow automate or
(01:49):
delegate, that you can basicallyscale, you can magnify the
number and the energy that isgoing into that so that you can
compound your business results.
So an example of this is, let'ssay, that you are going to host
a masterclass or a workshop, and your normal methods of
(02:13):
having people register for thatis you are posting on social
media the people that respond toyour post or comment or like it
.
That respond to your post orcomment or like it.
You are sending them a privatemessage and you are inviting
them to register, and you arethen taking their email address
manually and keeping a list ofthe people who have registered
(02:36):
for the event and then maybesending them an email, one by
one or in a group email, sharingthe details of it so that they
have the workshop andmasterclass link.
As you can see, as I describedthat, that is a process number
one, with a whole lot of steps,a lot of things for you to do
(02:57):
and to be in there every day.
If we have a post that iscontinuing to get comments, we
need to continue to check backwith that post over and over and
over again to respond to thosepeople.
And then we need to be checkinginto our DMs to see if people
responded back, if they do wantto register manually, collecting
(03:17):
those emails, sending out theemail reminders ourselves.
It's a lot of things right.
Think about the time and alsothe energy that all of that
takes.
Yes, time is a super importantfactor, but often when I find I
work with specifically spiritualand creative entrepreneurs,
(03:38):
coaches, healers, everybody thatfalls into any of those
categories or identifies as anyof those, it's really the energy
that is the biggest thing forthem.
Maybe they are shorter on time, but it really is that energy
expenditure.
And I think part of the reasonof that is when we are creative
or healing people or doingenergy work right, like we are
(04:00):
giving a lot of energy, a lot ofcreative energy, a lot of
healing energy, a lot of givingour soul to people and to our
clients, and that takes a lot.
I also find that there is avery big switch right.
So we think about all of thesemore masculine energy tasks in
(04:21):
our business, that is, theposting, the sharing that we are
doing, the inviting people, themessaging people, the going
back and forth and having theseconversations, the collecting of
the email addresses, thesending of the emails.
Those are all very masculinetasks, whereas when we look at
the work of a creativeentrepreneur, of a healer, of a
(04:42):
coach, it tends to be more ofthat creative flow, energy, that
feminine energy.
And there's that big switchthere.
Right, we have both energies inus all the time, but for a lot
of people, one tends to be moreactivated than another.
And so for creative andspiritual entrepreneurs and,
(05:02):
again, healers, coaches, anybodywho identifies in any of those
categories, once we starttalking about flipping back and
forth, usually the reason thatwe have picked this career path
is because we tend to thrive andour light comes on when we are
in that more feminine energy.
And again, this has nothing todo with your gender, your gender
(05:25):
identification.
None of that is coming intoplay.
We are literally just talkingabout the energies in our body
and we all, no matter who we are, what our gender or gender
identity is we have bothmasculine and feminine.
However, we're talking about agroup of people that tends to
really have that feminine energyflow come very naturally to
(05:46):
them and often these moremasculine business tasks are a
little bit more taxing on us,right?
So when I talk about scaling andbusiness systems, an example of
how we could scale this process, how we can implement business
systems and maybe a little bitof delegation in order to scale
(06:09):
that process so that it's notour time and energy being
expended, would be we stillprobably have to write the
social media post ourselves, usually outsourcing content
creation.
You know it can work okay, butmaybe you're using chat GPT to
help you get started with that.
That is an example of maybe notscaling, but just a way, a
(06:32):
business system that we can use,a tool that we can utilize that
is, a technology tool in orderto really make that process a
little bit faster, maybe alittle bit easier on us.
So obviously, always take whatchat, gpt or any other AI turns
out, put it into your own words, make tweaks there, proofread it
(06:54):
.
I never just copy and paste.
There's always my energy thatgoes into that, right?
So maybe we're using a tool tohelp us create that social media
post.
So we have a couple ofdifferent ways that we can work
on scaling the comment process.
We can actually use AI tools inorder to anybody who comments a
(07:15):
specific word, we can actuallyhave the system send them a
response in their DMs onInstagram or Facebook.
Business.
That is super powerful.
Or you can also outsource that.
You can delegate that to a VAand, even though that is more of
a manual task at that time, itis not your energy and your time
(07:38):
that is going into that.
You have actually magnified, you have compounded your time
and energy by delegating, byoutsourcing that task of
responding to people.
Then, rather than justcollecting an email address or
saying like, okay, I'm going toput you on a list that you've
registered, we can actually sendpeople a link to a form.
(07:59):
Maybe that form is embedded inthe landing page, maybe it's not
.
People put their name and emailin themselves.
Your back-end software systemis collecting those
registrations, keeping track ofthem.
We can set up automations tohave a welcome email sent out
that gives all the details aboutyour event, the link.
(08:22):
Maybe you have it set up tosend out reminders right before
the event.
This is all happening in thebackground and you are not
having to touch it, so that way,you can literally focus your
energy on that creation process,on writing those social media
posts and emails, like on thatcreative side of things that is
(08:42):
so powerful.
The reason that traditionalscaling methods and I would go
so far as to say maybe it's moreof an approach the reason that
those tend to not work so wellfor creative and spiritual
entrepreneurs is because I findthat the way that it is taught
or the way that it is shown topeople and even the way it is
(09:03):
set up, tends to be a very lowmarketing, like very masculine
approach to it.
There are very few teachers, inmy opinion, out there,
especially of the moretraditional realm, that are
teaching creatives andspirituals and healers and
(09:24):
coaches how to create thesebusiness systems in a way that
feels aligned for them, and thisis very important.
If you are creative or a coachor a healer, it's really
important to us to feel inalignment, right, because it's
so much our identity, it's somuch like ourselves is embedded
in the work that we do.
(09:46):
To then put out some like verymasculine, very salesy, very
in-your-face approach does notfeel good, and when it doesn't
feel good to us, it's not gonnafeel good to our clients either.
I also find that in traditionalscaling methods and approaches.
There's a very big copy-pasteculture, right?
(10:08):
So we're just taking whatsomebody has built and again,
this often is built on a verymasculine, in-your-face salesy
approach.
That is not going to work forus, right?
And that's why, on the back endof those systems, if you are to
implement those systems andcopy-paste and use the templates
(10:28):
that are created and given toyou, oftentimes it's that
disconnect for our ideal client,right?
Number one our ideal clienttends to be somebody who more is
drawn to that creative, ourunique magic.
Why they're coming to work withus is because we are so unique,
because we are so wild andweird and just like we have our
(10:52):
own weird beauty and we're not acookie cutter of everybody else
out there.
That's why they want to workwith us.
So when we are implementingthese traditional business
systems from a very masculinesales approach, our ideal client
is not drawn to that.
So that is a huge reason whythese systems do not work for us
(11:13):
.
Number two I often find thatsystems are built in a very
isolated manner, and what I meanby that is when I sit down to
build my business systems, Ihave a whole ritual that I go
through before I start designingthem, a ritual of, you know,
lighting candles with a specificscent to them.
(11:35):
I have my crystals sitting hereon my desk, the right energy of
wanting to build and share mymessage and the love that I want
to spread to the world, theimpact that I want to make.
So I have this whole ritualthat I go through.
I spend some time in meditation, I spend some time visualizing
my ideal client, the strugglethat she is going through right
(11:59):
now, how I am going to help her, where she wants to go, that
vision of what she wants tocreate with her life, and when I
can spend some time thinkingabout I'm going to get to help
this person with what they wantto create, with that vision,
with that impact that they aregoing to make.
And then I start creating mysystems and my scaling tactics.
(12:21):
It's from such a differentenergy.
I am not just copying andpasting, I am not using these
very masculine sales approaches.
I am doing it with my energy,of a way that feels good to me.
That is the energy and that isthe place that we want to be
creating these systems in Maybethe bones, maybe the framework
(12:43):
looks very similar, but when wejust copy paste these scaling
tactics and approaches andmethods that have come before us
that are not in alignment withus.
That's when things don't work.
What does work is when we canget ourselves into that creative
flow, into that place of, I'mgoing to say, the right mindset
(13:06):
whatever the right mindset isfor you.
When we can get into our bodies, when we can really connect
virtually and connect in ourmind with who it is that we are
going to impact and how we aregoing to impact them.
That is when these scalingsystems, all of a sudden, our
ideal client is seeing them andis like, oh my gosh, yes, this
(13:27):
was written for me, this wasmeant for me, this masterclass
was designed just for me.
Our energy comes through there.
So I hope that this episode wasvaluable for you today.
Definitely, take this thinkabout scaling in a different way
.
It's part of why I lovebusiness systems.
(13:49):
I love scaling so much.
I am so passionate aboutteaching it to people, because
in so many times, all that we'vebeen taught and all we've
learned is this very bromarketing approach, and if that
isn't in alignment with you,it's very easy to just be like
I'm gonna throw this all out, like this is not for me, scaling
(14:09):
is not for me, and what happensis instead we fall into the
pitfalls of not scaling ourbusiness.
Then we are burned out, we arecapped with a certain level of
success and income and clientsand all the things, because
literally, we don't have moreenergy and we don't have more
(14:32):
time to go find more people andbe able to work with more people
because we don't have thesescaling systems to be able to
compound that.
So I hope that this sheds somelight on why some things in the
past maybe that you have triedhave not worked so well and what
a different way to do it is.
I have a masterclass that iscalled Scaling Without Sacrifice
(14:56):
.
I am super excited for you.
If this jived with you, go takethat masterclass so that you
can dive even deeper into thisand how we can create these
scaling systems that are notgoing to sacrifice us, our
message, our impact, ourcreative flow, and why actually
(15:16):
the scaling systems are soimportant for creative and
spiritual entrepreneurs, coachesand healers when they are done
in a way that the approach feelsbetter for us and works for us.
So go check that out if youwant to dive even deeper into
all of this.
I am so excited to share thatwith you.
(15:37):
Have a beautiful day and I willsee you on the next episode of
