Welcome to today's
episode of Effortlessly
Productive.
Have you ever felt like you areso drained you just don't know
how to get your energy back?
You might be surprised.
A lot of entrepreneursexperience this, and the cause
for that energy drain canactually be things that we are
not even aware of.
(00:21):
So often people feel like, well, I am drained because I am
working 8, 10, maybe 12 hours aday on my business.
I'm drained because I neverunplug from my phone.
I have this magical littledevice with me all the time and
so I am just plugged into mybusiness all the time.
(00:43):
And, yes, those are definitelysome reasons why your energy
might be drained.
However, what I have found withworking with so many
entrepreneurs over the years isoften these energy leaks are
more invisible.
They are things that we are noteven aware of, and that is why
(01:06):
we are feeling so drained.
The obvious ones are often moreeasy to take care of.
It's much easier to setbusiness hours.
That's advice that I have beengiven over and over and over
again.
And while, yes, that is veryimportant, and if you do have
such wide boundaries that youare working 12, 14, 16 hours a
(01:28):
day in your business, perhapssetting some more defined
business hours would be reallyhelpful.
However, I find a lot ofentrepreneurs that's not the
trickiest part right they setthose boundaries, they work less
hours and maybe they get someenergy back, but they still feel
like their energy is drained.
It's really easy to take yourphone and turn on do not disturb
(01:50):
or to turn off notifications.
I know for me, I do not keepany social media notifications
on on my phone for that exactreason.
So that's a really easy fix andsomething that's pretty obvious
and a lot of people know that'shappening and can turn the
notifications off.
They can put things in placethat create those boundaries.
(02:12):
However, they do that and theyare still feeling so drained and
they don't know where that iscoming from.
So we're going to be divinginto today is spotting some of
these invisible leaks and whatto do about them.
The first thing that I find somany entrepreneurs, especially
online entrepreneurs, andespecially people who are more
(02:35):
creative, more spiritual, whoare coaches, who give and give
and give and heal people andthat's their work.
Their work is more of a purposeand a calling.
What they are being drained byis what I call tech fatigue, if
you are really interested indiving super deep into tech
fatigue.
I've done quite a number ofepisodes on this.
(02:57):
But what tech fatigue is?
It can look like lots ofdifferent things, but often
people are spending so much timetrying to build the tech back
end of their business that theyactually do not spend very much
time in their business doingwhat they love and what they
were called to do.
They don't spend as much timeworking with clients as they do
(03:18):
trying to build out the tech intheir business, trying to build
a website, trying to build afunnel or a landing page, trying
to set up ads, trying tonavigate all of their business,
trying to build a website, trying to build a funnel or a
landing page, trying to set upads, trying to navigate all of
their emails, all of thosethings right.
Often this happens becausepeople are trying to marry
together all of these differenttech platforms, so they're
(03:39):
trying to make one platform talkto another and they're not
designed that way.
I have done a lot of episodes onwhy I am such a huge proponent
for all-in-one solutions, including my CoachOS software
that I designed specifically totackle these problems of trying
to make all these softwares talkto each other.
(03:59):
But that can be a hugecontributor right, especially if
you are somebody who labelsyourself which I don't like
these labels, but a lot ofpeople will say I'm just not
tech savvy.
If you're not tech savvy, whyare you trying to get 16
different softwares to talk toeach other and paying for the
subscription for 16 differentsoftwares?
Let's just stop that.
(04:19):
Let's figure out a way thatworks better for us.
Tech fatigue can also look like.
If tech is not your strong suit, maybe you are not the one who
should be setting up all thesesystems.
Now.
I am a firm believer in learningthe behind the scenes of as an
entrepreneur, taking thatextreme ownership and knowing
(04:40):
how all of it works.
However, we all have seasons, even somebody like me who I
literally have a degree Iactually have multiple degrees
in website design and I havepaid other people to build
websites for me because I knewfor me at that point in time, at
(05:00):
that point in my business, thatbuilding a website for myself
was gonna be a bigger energyleak than it was.
That building a website formyself was going to be a bigger
energy leak than it was going tobe a benefit for me, that I was
in a season in business wherebuilding a website was not what
my energy and what my timeneeded to go to.
If that is you, if you arespending so much time in tech
(05:21):
and fighting tech and feelinglike nothing is working, much
time in tech and fighting techand feeling like nothing is
working maybe look into somedifferent platforms.
Maybe look into some differentsolutions and also get some help
, get some support, maybe eventake a course.
I have a bunch of programswhere I teach you how to build
systems in a way that's easy andunderstandable.
(05:41):
Don't try to navigate it allyourself, all by yourself,
without the support that youneed, and sometimes, like I said
, you're in a season where justpaying somebody to do it is
going to be better.
Now, I know not everybody'sbudget can handle that at the
moment, and that's fine too, butget the support that you need
so you are not having all ofthat energy going to that place
(06:03):
of burnout, of that leaking, intrying to tackle your tech side
of things.
You were put on this planet towork with your clients, to serve
your clients, and if you're notdoing that, you are going to
feel drained, especially if youare doing something that is not
your strong suit or that youdon't love like battling tech
(06:25):
all day.
So let's figure out a way thatwe can start to put more time
into working with our clientsand less time on that business
back end.
Now I also find a lot of people.
They are really good atbringing people into their world
, but they're not having asystem in place that can
actually keep up with thosepeople.
(06:46):
This can look like lost leads.
Right, we have lots of leadscoming into our business, but
we're not actually doing whatneeds to happen to help convert
them into clients, to help bringthem into our programs.
So we're putting so much energyinto bringing these people into
our world but we're notactually getting the payoff for
(07:08):
working with them.
And it's not even just about theincome for you.
It's about all these people whowant your help, who need what
you have to offer and they'renot able to access you for
whatever reason, because maybeyou don't have a system set up
where it's easy for them to signup for your program, maybe you
don't have things in place wherethey know what to do or they
(07:31):
know what you do, what you offer.
They want your help and theyneed your help, and that can be
a huge energy drain on us right.
That financial stress of ourbusiness is not bringing in the
income that we feel like itshould should in quotes for
those listening because we arepouring so much energy into our
(07:51):
business but we're not gettingthe actual income coming in,
that financial stress.
It's a huge drain and it canmake it really hard for us to
keep going in our business, especially when our family is
depending on that.
But even more so this is aboutall those other people, those
people who need what you have tooffer and they are not easily
(08:12):
able to access that.
It can even be free resourcesthat you have.
So these leads falling throughthe cracks.
Even if you don't know thatthat is happening for sure, that
can be a drain, right, becauseyou just have that feeling.
It usually feels like a senseof like I just know something's
not working right and thatweighs on us.
(08:33):
That's in the back of our mindall the time.
Content is another huge one.
I talked to so manyentrepreneurs and I've
experienced this myself, wherethe content that they want to
create is overwhelming.
This is content they want tocreate.
This is also content they feellike they should be creating
(08:54):
because somebody has told themyou need to post this many times
a day, you need to create thismany reels, you need to be
sending emails, you need to bedoing all the things, you need
to have a YouTube channel and apodcast, and this and that and
that, and they're trying tocreate individual content for
all of these different platforms.
They're not repurposing things.
They don't have any structureto keep track of what content
(09:17):
they need to create and whenwhat platforms they're creating,
for it can very easily turninto that beast where you are
drained because of that contentoverwhelm.
And so when we can figure out asystem and a structure for our
content and how to repurpose ifthat serves you, or maybe it's a
(09:38):
matter of also getting rid ofsome of those beliefs, some of
those shoulds, with youshoulding all over yourself of
how I should be posting on 25different social media platforms
and making each piece ofcontent individually and I can't
repurpose and all of thosethings when we can start to do
(09:59):
away with some of that andsimplify and have a system
that's supportive for us, we allof a sudden realize that drain
that we had on us is gone, thatcontent all of a sudden feels
easy, but you might not evenhave really realized.
Content's actually one of theones that I find most people are
somewhat aware of.
(10:19):
That is a huge drain.
Maybe you don't even realizehow much it is draining your
energy.
So that's a huge, huge area inyour business to examine.
Another one is a clientfollow-up system.
If you have gaps in your clientfollow-ups and this could be
people who want to work with youbut haven't signed up yet this
(10:42):
could be people who are workingwith you when we in the back of
our minds, know that we havethese people that we haven't
been checking in on.
We don't even know how they'redoing.
We don't know if they'vefinished that program.
We don't know if they were wellsupported.
We don't know if they're readyto go to that next level.
Maybe they downloaded somethingfree you had to offer and you
(11:05):
don't even know.
Did I reach out to them again?
Did I see if they wanted totake that next step?
Do they want to do that paidprogram?
We can think about thismanually.
Right Of like.
We have to go and touch baseand have that touch point with
every single person.
However, there are systems thatwe can also put in place to
fill these client follow-up gapsso that we can take it off of
(11:27):
your plate.
We can take it out of yourbrain.
You know your clients are beingserved and served well, and
it's not you having to do everysingle touch point manually.
That would be a huge energydrain.
And we can lift that by fillingthose client follow-up gaps and
also having a system to help uswith the client follow-up gaps.
(11:51):
Especially if you're trying tokeep track of all of that in
your head, that is overwhelming, that is a lot.
And especially as our businessgrows, a lot of the time we're
looking at it like well, I canhandle what I have now.
But in the back of our head wemight not even be aware.
We have the belief I can't growmy business, I can't take on
(12:13):
any more clients, I can't launchanother program, because if I
do I'm going to start droppingthe ball on people, and I don't
want to drop the ball on people.
So our brain goes well, we'renot going to launch, we're not
going to grow, we're not goingto take on any clients, we're
going to self sabotage.
All of that's happening in thebackground in your subconscious,
(12:34):
often without you even beingaware of it, and think about
what an energy drain all of thatis Plus.
We then start to have thecompounding drain of us looking
at it being like something in mybusiness is not working or I'm
not working.
Something in my business is notworking or I'm not working.
Something here is not right andI don't know what it is.
(12:54):
So let's start to seal thatleak.
If that hit home for you, let'sfigure out how to seal that
leak so that we can serve moreclients, we can launch those
dream programs, we can do allthe things without that worry
that we're going to drop theball on people.
Another huge energy drain youmight have is having systems in
(13:16):
place that you don't trust.
The reason why this is aproblem.
It may be obvious, but if youdon't trust the systems that you
have built to work for you andto work properly, we are going
to constantly be checking in onthat.
We're going to be constantlythinking in the back of our mind
(13:36):
did something not work?
Did somebody fall through thecracks?
All of those things again.
And this again is a reason whywe would not grow.
We might not be aware of it,but that is a reason that would
hold us back from wanting togrow and scale our business and
bring in more and more clientsand launch those huge programs
that we have that we know areliterally going to change the
(13:58):
lives of so many people.
When we are worried that thesystems that we have might not
work, might be letting peopledown, might be letting us down,
might be letting money just slipthrough the cracks right that
we're leaving money on the tablebecause we are not having the
things in place that we trustthen that is a huge problem.
(14:20):
Again, this can tie back to thetech fatigue as well.
So if you are trying to get aton of different software
platforms to talk to each otherand you don't know if it's
working, right, that is anexample of a system that maybe
you don't trust, so let's figureout how to rectify that.
Whatever that looks like inyour business, in particular, if
(14:42):
there is something where youare constantly checking on it or
you're like hey, I just feellike this person came in for my
freemium, they downloaded thisand I don't know if they
actually went onto my email list.
I don't know if my VA orsomebody on my team actually
knew to follow up with them orreach out to them.
I don't know if the DM went outto them.
(15:04):
Those are all examples of whatmay be happening, so let's work
on sealing those.
All of this kind of goes to thelast thing that I wanted to talk
about, which is our mental loadwhen we are trying to keep all
of this in our head, when wedon't have systems to support us
, when we don't trust thesystems, when we are spending so
(15:29):
much time doing things thatdrain us and not doing enough of
the things that we love, whenwe are not in that creative flow
which so many of us spiritualand creative entrepreneurs and
coaches.
That's why we started ourbusiness, because we are
creative people and it'simportant to fuel us.
Yes, we need the masculinesystems and structure.
(15:49):
We also need to have time inthat creative flow.
So if we are having to put allof our energy and all of our
time into the masculine andwe're neglecting that feminine,
that is a huge drain on ourmental load.
Right, we're not fillingourselves back up and we're not
doing what we were meant to do,what we are put on this planet
(16:10):
to do, when we are trying tokeep all of this in our head,
when we are constantly worrying, maybe also having those
boundary issues that I talkedabout in the beginning of the
episode, working too many hoursbecause we don't trust this or
not enough is getting done.
Again, I'm putting in quotesthe not enough getting done.
That's probably not the case, but we can feel that way.
(16:34):
Right when we are not seeing theresults that we expect for the
work we're putting in, we canstart to think that we're just
not doing enough.
And in fact, what's reallyhappening is probably we have
some nervous system regulationthings that we need to take care
of to help regulate us, andalso we have so many leaks going
(16:54):
on in our business and we'resuffering from such extreme tech
fatigue and we don't trust thesystems that we have.
That is all wreaking havoc onour business and it's making us
feel like we need to do more, more, more, when it's actually
the opposite.
We need to figure out how toseal these invisible leaks.
(17:14):
Number one we have to know howto identify them.
So I talked through some of thebig ones that I see today, but
there are lots more areas in ourbusiness where we might have
invisible leaks that we're noteven aware of.
So, number one we have toidentify them.
Anything I talked about here onthis episode if that hit home
for you.
(17:34):
That is a sign.
That is a sign that that issomething you need to start to
pay attention to.
You have now identified aninvisible leak which is huge.
Take a second to congratulateyourself and recognize that that
is huge.
Just acknowledge that you havethis leak.
This leak went from invisibleto now you know it's there and
(17:55):
then we need to figure out howto start sealing these leaks up
so that we are not leaking ourenergy, so that our bucket is
now holding all of it, when wecan operate our business from a
place of overflow instead ofjust trying to like pour more
and more and more and more intoit because it's leaking out so
fast.
(18:16):
You will hear about people who, like, all of a sudden, they went
3,000 or 5,000 a month to likeexploding, to having 20,000
months, and then, before youknow it, they're at 50,000
months and then, before you knowit, they're at six figure
months and you're like how didthey even do that?
It's because they started topatch up some of these leaks.
When we can start to number one, identify, number two step is
(18:39):
to seal them.
That's where the results inyour business start to explode.
That's where your clientstransformations start to explode
and everything seems to startworking.
Just all of a sudden, you'relike everything's working.
This is how it's supposed tofeel Like.
This is what I thought when Istarted this.
(19:01):
This is what I envisioned formyself.
So if you love this episode andyou want to dive even deeper
into this, if you know thatthere are areas that you still
need to identify, or you want tomaybe dive a little deeper into
the things we talked about heretoday and how to identify them,
or and or you want to alsostart to seal these leaks up, my
(19:26):
system seer playbook is comingout very soon.
I have it on pre-sale.
I am super excited for this.
This is going to help youidentify the leaks, know how to
seal them and also how toregulate your nervous system
along with this, so that yournervous system is strong and
supportive of you being able todo all of this business systems
(19:48):
work without sending you intofight or flight or without
sending you into burnout.
It's going to be amazing.

ready for you to go downloadright now.
