Carlos Tévez nació en uno de los barrios más peligrosos de Buenos Aires, Fuerte Apache. De allí el origen de su apodo. La infancia de Tévez fue trágica. Cuando apenas era un bebé por accidente le cayó agua hirviendo, ocasionándole quemaduras de tercer grado. A los 5 años de edad, su padre fue asesinado con 23 disparos y poco tiempo después, su madre lo abandonó. Pese a todo, el fútbol se convirtió para él en una salvación.
