Speaker 1 (00:00):
Because we were
wrapped up in those thoughts, in
that rumination, in thatnegative thinking.
But if we can neutralize thatand bring more positivity, then
and allow those faculties thatwe have within of awareness, of
perception, of intuition youknow, they are universal, divine
qualities that we havenaturally within that we just
(00:23):
need to bring to the surface.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
And that's why
meditation is such a perfect
tool, because it helps you dothat you mentioned about missing
something and you've I've heardyou mentioned lost a couple
times and in the very beginningyou talked about um man being
lost, and more so today.
(00:45):
Why is?
Why are we lost?
Speaker 1 (00:48):
um, the world doesn't
really support us in a
spiritual, holistic way.
Um, explain, for instance, there's no education, or like
what I've spoken about is likethe strength is within.
You know, how do you find thatstrength within?
(01:10):
How do you overcome thosechallenges and do you understand
why they're in your life?
There is really ignorance, likepeople say, oh my God, this
happened to me, why did thishappen to me?
Say, oh my God, this happenedto me, why did this happen to me
?
Everything, every single thingthat happens to us is a learning
, is an experience, and if wecan enrich ourselves in
(01:33):
accepting that and seeing whatwe can learn from that
experience, we enrich our livesfor sure.
We enrich our lives for sureBecause divinity, we're never
punished.
You know, I really believe Godis not only omnipresent,
omnipotent, you know all theomnis, but God is forgiving that
(01:57):
even if we've done bad things,we will be given opportunities
to right that, givenopportunities to write.
That you know.
So we can talk a little bitabout karma.
You know what is our life plan?
Our life plan contains twothings what we call karma and
dharma, in the easternphilosopher, philosophical sense
(02:18):
, that we have certain blueprintin our life.
We need to go through thesecertain experiences, but we also
have a duty to ourselves tohelp us along that path and to
achieve whatever we want toachieve, you know, whether
that's supporting our family.
You know, becoming a greatwriter.
You know the world is ours toexplore, to experience.
(02:42):
Um, yeah, man.
Man is, you know, very lostbecause he also spends a lot of
time in his head.
Now, one important fact is that45% of the time and these are
medical facts that you canGoogle and look up around that
time we are involved in tasksand therefore we're in actions,
(03:09):
we're doing things, we'rewriting, we're working.
So 45 percent of the time we'rebusy doing something yeah, the
other 55 percent of the timewe're in our head, we're
ruminating, we're talking toourselves, we all do it.
We all do it.
The mind is our busiest pieceof machinery that actually never
(03:31):
, ever sleeps.
But we forget that that mind isa reflection or just a piece of
the universal mind.
So within our, our mind, wehave the universal mind Going
back to my stanza that we'reuniversal beings.
We just don't realize that.
(03:52):
So in those periods where we'reruminating, generally speaking,
depending on the stability ofthe person, the amount of
insecurity, the amount ofexperiences they've had in life,
that rumination often becomesnegative, like I don't like
myself, I wish I was better, Iwish I was prettier.
You know, I'm too fat, I'm toothin, et cetera, and we're
(04:18):
spending time in there and thatcan often be negative and
therefore it becomes a bit likea visual circle.
We can't get out of thatfeeling of being not as we want
to be.
You know, we feel discontentand that obviously are the first
stages of depression.
So when we cannot get out ofthat circle, then we go down and
(04:46):
when our self-esteem isdepressed, we are depressed.
That is the first stages ofdepression, which I'm so glad to
say that meditation canalleviate very quickly and very
effectively.
But we want to try and catchpeople before they get to that
point that their life becomes adesperation, you know.
(05:11):
Their self esteem is thenflattened and they have that
depressive state.
So if we can bring morepositivity into that rumination
and of course, one of the othergreat things that is awakened
when we meditate is intuition, intuitiveness, perceptiveness
(05:33):
and awareness so when we bringthose qualities into the mind
and we have a greater of thoseaspects, then we are, we're able
to look at ourselves much moreclearly, to see ourselves.
You know why am I beingnegative?
You know why?
(05:53):
Why do I need to even thinkthat?
And we have the strength tocorrect that and take a new
attitude or a new position etcin our lives, or a new position,
et cetera in our lives.
So meditation begins toneutralize, and that's one of
the most wonderful things itdoes because remember that
rumination is not only fromdifferent parts of the
(06:17):
subconscious, it's obviouslycoming from deeper and deeper
areas that model our personality.
So if we can then have morepositivity from deeper and
deeper areas that model ourpersonality, so if we can then
have more positivity, we havemore awareness, we have more
perceptiveness and we knowourselves.
Everything starts to change forthe better.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
So you gave a stat
45-55, and you talk about being
45% were busy.
You're doing tasks 59%.
In a sense, we're in our ownhead, Right and, and.
Instantly I'm like, oh, mygoodness, this is something, and
and and, once again, whetherit's related, not related, it's
interesting the timing of thisbecause most recently I started
(07:00):
listening to an, an, an audiblebook called the uh, the
untethered soul, and it startstalking about that Once again.
All of that.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Our own thoughts, how
we're talking to ourselves, all
these things that are going onReally think about it, but we
are.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
It's constantly
having conversations myself and
whether it be a positive ornegative.
Yeah, and we're kind of in ourown headspace or in our own head
and a lot of times and we canbe our worst enemy in a sense.
Right, we talk about how we'rehard on ourselves.
It's so easy to be hard onourselves.
I'm as trained as a parent as Ican be here.
(07:43):
I know that I suffer a lot ofthat, a lot of those things.
I'm very hard on myself, I'm myown worst critic and I seem to
practice that way too frequently.
Yeah, so how does one breakthat cycle?
Right, we talked about, becausewe said it's a form of
(08:03):
depression or that leads intodepression, and we talk in quite
a few of our episodes here.
We talk about mental health, right, because that's a huge
part of our lives and I think weneed to have more exposure to
that.
Right, because unfortunately,we see that people suffer from
mental health issues and whetherthey're ashamed of it, or they
don't get the help, or peopledon't realize it's going on.
(08:25):
You know I've lost quite a fewindividuals in my life, be it
friends, relatives,acquaintances, whether to
suicide or self-destructivehabits.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Right, that I did
early demise.
How does one God, we don't wantthat do?
Speaker 2 (08:44):
we no, no, not at all
.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
You know, life is a
gift.
It's the most incredible gift.
We want to live it in fullness.
But to do that we have to liveit in awareness.
Okay.
So, as I said earlier, ifthrough meditation we begin to
neutralize that rumination whichalways tends to err on the
(09:11):
negative side, and then when wehave greater self-awareness, we
have more intuitiveness, we knowwhat to do and we know we begin
to stop thinking negatively,okay.
And then we think why am Ibeing so negative, you know?
(09:33):
And then suddenly we realize wedidn't realize how negative we
were.
But then suddenly, through thisrace, consciousness of
self-awareness, we startedsaying oh, you know, god, I
didn't realize I was negative, even if someone's telling you oh
my God, you're so negative, youknow.
It's like, did we realize that?
(09:54):
No, because we were wrapped upin those thoughts, in that
rumination, in that negativethinking.
But if we can neutralize thatand bring more positivity, then
and allow those faculties thatwe have within of awareness or
perception, or intuition youknow, they are universal, divine
(10:15):
qualities that we havenaturally within that we just
need to bring to the surface.
And that's why meditation issuch a perfect tool, because it
helps you do that- what makesfaisu meditation different from
any other forms of meditation?
(10:36):
okay, um, I think the mostimportant thing, hour is that we
give individually, so practicesare given depending on the
person.
So the course is very similar, but fundamentally we use a
(10:57):
mantra, which is a string ofwords or syllables that we
repeat in meditation.
Now, in most other systems, these are what's called Bija
mantras.
They come, they're consideredto be primal sounds that were
there when the universe wascreated and, yes, they have some
significant emphasis, but it'snot your sound.
(11:21):
You know what is your uniquevibration.
So if we were to condense youphysically, mentally,
emotionally and spiritually intoa sound, into a vibration,
because of our uniqueness, whichwe have found through
(11:43):
neuroplasticity, which ourfingerprint confirms, the iris
in our eye and our DNA, they allconfirm that, even though you
and I are related as thebrotherhood of man, we are
totally unique.
Unique because thatneuroplasticity, which gives us
(12:09):
the ability to adapt to newsituations, has been such a
profound part of our survivalsystem and therefore we have
found that individuality.
Now our path is to go fromindividuality to universality,
but to do that we need to useyour unique vibration, so we
(12:29):
need to condense you.
So if you come to learn inFaisu, you'll be asked to supply
a photograph, without glassesor contact lenses, of your eyes,
because one of my countrymen, who you will know very well, sir
William Shakespeare, eyes.
Because one of my countrymen, who you will know very well, sir
william shakespeare, has saidthe eyes are the windows of the
(12:50):
soul.
Okay, and this is very true.
When we communicate, we lookinto people's eyes, don't we get
those feelings of trust, oflove?
You know, we're not.
We're not looking at their bigtoe, we're looking in their True
.
True, and that's how wecommunicate.
So the windows are really, theyare definitely the windows of
(13:10):
the soul.
So I meditate on that person,on their photograph, and I
perceive their subtle vibrationthat they emanate.
Okay, which is a condensed, subtle version.
I would write that in word orsyllable form and that would
(13:33):
formulate your own personalmantra.
So, in fact, you're not usingan artificial tool, and this is
what makes our system so verydifferent.
You are using your ownvibration to grow yourself, so
to speak, to unfold yourself, because the essence of that
(13:56):
vibration is divine, it isuniversal, but the personal
mantra helps you draw veryeffectively on that divine,
universal level and, as we said, bring those energies to a
higher level that we can usethem in our daily life to better
(14:17):
ourselves and better thosearound us.
So that's how we're reallyreally unique.
You know, my guru trained mefor this.
This was his system that hecreated and, of course, for me,
I'm a.
You know, when we say guru, spiritual teacher or guru, it's
(14:39):
a wonderful word.
It's two syllables, gu and ru,and they're Sanskrit words, and
gu means darkness and Ru meanslight.
So Guru is just someone wholeads you from the darkness to
the light.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Simple enough.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Through my own
realizations and reaching that
enlightened level, I can havethese abilities to perceive
those subtle vibrations.
And not only perceive them, butgive them a boost, give them
force and awaken that force inyou.
(15:16):
And that's the key Once you arespiritually awakened,
everything changes in your life.
Okay, awakened, everythingchanges in your life, okay.
So when we're practicingregularly, but then you know we
start off with a simpletechnique, then we go to the
more advanced techniques withthe personal mantra, so that
you're prepared in that journey, and then this takes you to
(15:40):
completely new levels of selfdiscoverydiscovery of
spirituality, of consciousness.
