Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello there, welcome
back to Empower your Soul.
Today I thought I'd take amoment to do some listener Q&A.
I, honest to God, I need to gothrough my inbox a little more
than I do, so please don't mindme at all, because I just get
totally distracted all the time.
Yep, I do, I do so.
But here we go In terms of themy podcast email.
(00:26):
Let's go.
So.
First one is from I'm justgoing in kind of chronological
order here.
First one I have is from Roz,who says I love your podcast.
Everyone I listen to makes somuch sense, so open for spirit.
I don't suppose you have anypart-time positions open.
So first of all, Roz, I thankyou so much for listening to the
podcast.
I don't have any part-timepositions open, but I will let
(00:47):
you know.
I just love this because when Ireceive a message like that, to
me this is a sign from spirit, because I keep thinking about do
I hire somebody to help me doall this admin stuff that I, to
be honest with you, I kind ofloathe, right, I just told you I
don't.
Really I'm not very good atstaying on top of my email.
So, um, thank you, roz for thesign from spirit there and I am.
(01:11):
I'm going to gratefullyacknowledge you and thank you so
much for listening to thepodcast and say, uh, I will
reach out if, if that changes atany point.
But I'm also a workhorse and Idon't stop doing my own things
because I'm a control freak.
I'm sorry, roz, I'm sorry, it'strue, all right.
Next one up is from Marianne andshe has a really good question
(01:33):
here.
So she said hi, nicole, I justlistened to your most recent
podcast on why your psychickeeps talking about your ex.
I loved that and I brought itup.
So, and it brought up so manymore questions.
I'm a developing psychic mediumand I'm taking courses at the
College of Psychic Studies.
I'm still in the foundationlevel classes.
What you said makes so muchsense because I've noticed my
ability to do practice readingswith others in the class is
(01:54):
largely dependent on informationthat I can pick up, on
something in them that resonateswith me.
If that makes sense, it does.
That makes complete sense to me, marianne, even when I was
getting mediumistic info.
I'm questioning that now.
As a developing medium andpsychic.
What are some questions I canbe?
Asking the instructor to helpme distinguish what is getting?
(02:15):
What am I getting from myintuition?
Or what am I getting fromspirit?
The spirit, the instructor saiddon't worry about your it's if
it's your intuition.
Needless to say, I won't betaking another class with him
for that and other reasons.
Oh my God, so right, marianne?
Right, there's so many badteachers out there there's not
many that I've worked with thatI would recommend to be totally
honest with you.
So I'm with you.
(02:35):
Um, are there things we canlook for in instructors when we
take classes to learn about thiswork, so we're not fumbling
around and relying on ourintuition rather than with
spirit?
I hope that makes sense.
I really want to do this workand do right by this work.
So, number one, marianne, Ijust want to give you a round of
applause for your integrityhere.
And this is what happens whenstudents become the teachers,
(03:00):
but they don't discern thingsfor themselves or they just kind
of take and regurgitate whatthey've learned.
And I don't know anything aboutthe College of Psychic Studies,
so I might have to Google thatone a little bit.
But there is just rampantmisinformation within the
psychic medium teaching spaceand this is not a I'm going to
(03:26):
be kind and then I'm not goingto be kind.
I don't want to throw anybodyunder the bus, because I think
that people tend to teach whatthey've been taught.
But what that means and thatcomes from high integrity, that
comes from a love of the workand wanting to spread and help
people become psychics andmediums, and I love that.
I think that's a wonderful way,I love that it's not
(03:47):
gatekeeping, you're taking yourtime and your energy to teach
people.
But very early in my career as amedium I think it was probably
a year and a half in I went to,I did a spiritual assessment and
my reader told me spiritdoesn't want you to teach yet
(04:07):
and I said, okay, that's fine.
I mean, I wasn't ready to teach.
I was told I was going to beteaching, but they're like not
yet, not yet.
And that was a little tough forme to swallow, to be honest
with you.
But the reason is is because Ihad been taking classes from
people who were not the bestteachers right, they're very
(04:28):
closed minded.
They were people who saw thingsone way.
It was black and white, andthat's exactly what I would have
been teaching had I startedteaching there, and instead I
had to almost take 10 steps backand really think about how I
wanted to teach and what Iwanted to teach, because doing
(04:51):
psychic and mediumship work isnot rocket science.
It is those of you that do it.
I'm sure you will back me up.
It is not rocket science.
Someone needs to kind of showyou how to connect if you're not
sure how to connect.
But other than that, it tendsto be just be just practice,
practice, practice to increaseyour accuracy and your quality,
right, however, there are, I'mgonna say that's that's teaching
(05:15):
the what.
That's teaching the like whatdo you do?
How, like what?
What do you do to connect tospirit?
Like, how do you get theinformation in?
But it doesn't really go intothe why of why does this work
right?
How can we actually connect tospirit?
Why is it that we receiveinformation through the clairs?
Why is it that something'scoming in accurately and
(05:36):
something's coming accuratelyright?
Why is there no consistencyacross my readings?
And these are the questionsthat I felt like I needed to
figure out before I became ateacher, because for me it was
teaching an incomplete picture.
And so this goes to kind ofyour point, marianne, here about
(05:59):
how do you find an instructor, and I think green flags for
instructor are teachers whorealize that they're not the
only ones in the space, thatthey realize there's multiple
ways to do this and that, like, could you even imagine how much
we don't know about the spiritworld yet?
So I am the first person to saythat I am not the best teacher.
(06:21):
I am the first person to throwmyself under the bus and say
this is how I do it, but do itin the way that you want to do
it.
Those are green flags to me.
And then also teachers that arepatient, that are kind, that
take your questions and reallymull them over and I'm going to
say, reflect back the integritythat you have back at you with
(06:42):
answering those questions.
Those are the best teachers.
I mean, those are the bestteachers.
Marianne.
So in terms of your specificquestion about how do you tell
if it's mediumship or psychic oryour intuition, and again, the
easiest way that I separate outthe two, I feel like your
(07:02):
intuition is your higher self.
I feel like this is your higherself giving you your
information, which isessentially you.
You are a spirit, so you'rejust picking up on the energetic
cues of the things that arearound you.
So I liken it to the higherself because I think it's easier
to explain.
But it's you, it's your energypicking up on these things.
It's your intuition, right?
Psychic is when you'reconnecting again energy to
(07:23):
energy with somebody, and thenmediumship is when you're
connecting to the spirit.
There's two ways.
One is accessible butquestionable.
The other is less accessiblebut accurate.
So the way, the way that I wastaught and it does work is that
(07:45):
you can actually just in yourhead ask if the information is
being picked up via psychic orthrough mediumship.
So, like you can walk around afair, like a psychic fair, with
all sorts of readers, you canwalk around to a whole bunch of
mediumship readers and walkaround and say, are they reading
psychically or mediumship?
(08:06):
And your intuition should popin to tell you generally how
they're reading.
Now, mind you, not superaccurate, right, like.
So you have to trust yourintuition.
You might second guess it, butyou've got to get.
You have to go with what yourfirst gut instinct is there and
just trust it, right?
Is there a way to test thetruthfulness?
No, not really, but just gowith what it says.
(08:28):
And if you're walking aroundthese fairs and picking up more
on psychic and less onmediumship, that's probably the
truth, right, that's yourindicator of success, because
most mediums, again, arepsychics Very, very good
psychics, mind you, but psychicsnonetheless.
The other way is that again, I'mgoing to humble brag here for a
(08:53):
moment, but when I became ateacher, spirit like opened the
curtains in a whole new way forme.
That allows me to really checkon the energetic integrity of my
students.
So, and those of you that havebeen my students, you know like
I can tell, I can literally justtap into you while you're
reading and be like no, you'rein the psychic energy, go up, or
(09:14):
you're in the Akashic energy, come down.
And so I can kind of guide youto what the right energy is to
make sure you have the bestconnection from a mediumship
perspective or a psychicconnection, if that's what
you're looking for.
So I guess maybe in this, inthis instance, I would recommend
joining in on the mediumshipmastermind, because I hop in,
(09:38):
like I we do every week, everyMonday night, eastern Time,
we're doing some sort of abreakout circle.
So I'm teaching every otherweek and then we're just doing a
practice circle every otherweek, but you get partnered up
with me sometimes, right?
So I, while I'm in there, I'mcoaching you, I'm giving you
feedback.
I'm showing you, I'm like, hey, check your energy, because I
want you all to be successful, and that's the whole point of
(10:00):
this.
This isn't a full on mentorship, right.
You get like 15 minutes with me, maybe every week.
You get like 15 minutes with me, maybe every week if you're
lucky.
Right, it's the luck of theZoom breakout room, gods, but
that's what the reality is.
So if you're looking for a moreaccurate read, marianne, you
can come to that.
You can sign up.
I do have, for the rest of thismonth, spiritual assessments
(10:23):
that I have out on my website.
This is a temporary serviceoffering.
I think it's going away soon,but give it a try, I don't know.
But, yeah, I would just say, stick with your gut, your
intuition, on your instructor.
If he doesn't feel right, thenhe doesn't feel right, and
you're just going to have totrust that and go with that and
there's not much else to it.
I hope that answers yourquestions, marianne.
Oh, my goodness.
(10:43):
And then Sarah over here emailedme a couple weeks ago and her
email is delightful.
And, sarah, I know I haven'tresponded.
I'm so sorry, but I did readthrough it all and you had me in
tears and I'm going to see.
Um, I'm just going to skip tothe very end of this, sarah.
(11:09):
She goes through an amazing, amazing email about how she's
been listening to the podcast.
She's binged a lot of theepisodes, and then she talks
about the episode I have aboutspirit or ego and all of the
steps it takes with her and herfamily I'm going to say it that
way to kind of go through andstick to her guns about, you
(11:31):
know, medical things that aregoing on with her family and
it's just, it's just sointeresting because what she
reflects here in this email isessentially kind of what I went
through in my beginning as well, and I'm not going to rehash
that episode.
(11:52):
But again, in this work, a lotof times you'll have readings
from other people that tell youyou're meant to do this work.
You might have downloads fromspirit.
I'm meant to do this work, thisis what I'm supposed to be
doing.
I'm supposed to be healing, I'msupposed to be doing this right
.
And our egos want to put thatin place and say, okay, great,
let me, I am the best.
No offense, I'm the best, letme go do this right.
(12:14):
And so it can just get thatjourney of separating out your
ego versus spirit and what thatjourney should look like.
No one talks about it, and Ijust want to thank you so much
for this email, sarah, and whatyour journey was with this as
well.
And what I'm going to read hereis the I think the second to
last paragraph, and she said theday I heard your spirit or ego
(12:37):
episode, I was feeling sofrustrated that I couldn't just
quit my job and dive into myspiritual work.
I've had so many signs thatmediumship is where I'm supposed
to be.
I feel overwhelmed trying tobalance her daughter's school
and medical care and the medicalbilling company and growing the
business, and your episodehelped me reframe things.
It reminded me that beingpractical and creating a solid
foundation before taking thisleap is part of the process.
(12:58):
Spirit may not care about myday-to-day expenses, but I still
have to navigate this humanexperience responsibly.
This episode gave me so muchclarity and reassurance.
Thank you for sharing yourwisdom and continuing to put
your podcast out in the world.
It made a huge impact on me andI'm so grateful for it.
Thank you so much, sarah.
So, yeah, I'm so glad.
I'm so glad that episoderesonated so much for you.
(13:20):
I have to tell you that's likethe number one episode I tell
clients to go listen to.
I'm like, have you do?
You know I have a podcast.
Go listen to this episodebecause a lot of people are
struggling with this, wanting toleave I mean, the world's a
mess like wanting to leave theirjobs because it's not
fulfilling, it's not alignedwith them and being financially
(13:42):
able to leave.
That's a whole different.
That is a whole different thing, right?
And when we're getting thesedownloads from Spirit and we
think they're going to take careof everything, it's very
unrealistic.
And I think they do care aboutour day-to-day expenses.
But what is so cool in this?
And I was actually meditatingthis morning and I need to get
back to that I tend to just goand let the downloads come to me
(14:03):
as I'm busy throughout my day,but I made space for Spirit this
morning and they told methey're giving me the gift of
time right now.
Like they're giving me the giftof time right now.
So there's something about justallowing and flowing and
letting things come in whenthey're supposed to come in and
(14:24):
if it's meant to work out, it'sgoing to work out.
Supposed to come in, and ifit's meant to work out, it's,
it's going to work out, but makesure you have the structure in
place to support you in makingsome of these decisions.
So, yeah, I'm, I'm so glad,sarah.
There's not enough words I cansay for your email.
I just want to thank you somuch for being so vulnerable,
honest, open with me and I justyour email was profound for me.
(14:46):
So thank you so much, sarah, and if you haven't listened to
that session yet or that readingyet, I completely, completely
suggest you do so.
Okay, this one is from a whileago.
I'm so sorry, alicia.
So Alicia sent me a note and itsaid good morning to you.
I'm fairly new to your podcast.
Absolutely love it.
By the way, since a young ageI've seen people who have passed
(15:07):
not many, I think three intotal.
I've also felt the room shift, maybe again, not often.
I've talked to a couple mediums.
Once I did a brief mentorshipwith.
I learned a few things.
My dad came through twice.
I saw a young, maybe eight ornine-year-old boy, shy, not
wanting to come through, but did.
I saw an angry woman near him.
I knew the woman was harmed orkilled this child.
My medium said that she wouldtake care of her later.
(15:29):
Ooh, how did your medium dothat, alicia?
Right now I feel cloggedmentally and emotionally, like I
can't figure out how to relax, meditate or settle down long
enough to listen to my spiritguides I've been told I have
seven in total.
I can't hear them as often as Iwant, do you?
How do you settle down,meditate?
That's so funny because I didthat this morning.
Not planned, everybody notplanned so that you can learn
(15:50):
how to listen.
What are more tips to beproactive, to opening up?
Sorry for the rambling.
I need, I need to schedule asession.
Okay, so I think you have,alicia, I can't remember.
Sorry, I just I gotta go.
I get a lot of people.
I love you all and then I'dlike to not.
This is a me problem.
I like to not take notes on myclients or write anything down
(16:15):
about our sessions because mostof the time when I've channeled
the information it's in one earand it doesn't stay in my brain
long enough to actuallyrecognize.
So a lot of you who have bookedmultiple sessions, please don't
get offended if I totallyforgot what your situation was.
I don't take notes because Ilike to start from scratch every
time, because if I, if I, tooknotes in my system on who you
are, what dead people.
I pulled through like, um, Ifeel like that's cheating and
(16:37):
I'm not going to do that, notdoing that.
So there we go.
So, in terms of feeling cloggedmentally and emotionally, this
is me right now, alicia, likethis is me.
I can't figure out how to relax.
I, this morning was the firsttime I meditated in months.
(16:58):
Um and so, for me personally, because you're having trouble
settling down and, alicia, I'mlike tapping into your specific
energy right now.
I hope you don't mind, but whatI'm getting is for you.
You are busy, you like to stayactive, and that's okay.
So I like to recommend, likewalking meditations for some of
(17:19):
my clients, things where you'reactive.
So I don't know if you exercise, or I don't know if you can go
outside, go for a walk, I don'tknow if you can set the
intention to while you, whileyour brain is on autopilot or,
sorry, while your body is onautopilot, doing something like
walking, doing the dishes, etc.
Open up your mind and go intothat meditative state while
(17:41):
you're doing that and see whatcomes through.
Right, in terms of how to relax.
I mean that a that's a can ofworms, right?
I would just say find out where.
Where in your life are youwasting time Like?
Are you scrolling on thesocials all the time?
Are you distracting yourself?
Are you watching too muchNetflix?
(18:01):
Right, how are?
How are you distractingyourself from life and keeping
your brain and or your bodyoccupied because you're anxious?
Because that's a copingmechanism, right?
Your coping mechanism is I'mnot going to sit in the energy
of my body, so my body is goingto go into fight or flight mode
because I'm eternally in thisoverstimulated mental state.
(18:27):
So that leads to fight orflight.
Whenever you get a free space, that kind of questions that, and
then your body goes into intoflight mode.
But for you, alicia, it soundslike, um, that causes you to go
do things and distract yourself, right, because that's easier
than sitting in the blank spaceand seeing what comes through.
(18:48):
And like no judgment, with mesaying this because I'm the same
exact way, for the record, okay, so in terms of how to relax, I
would honestly, um, find outwhat you can remove from your
schedule or what can you shiftin your schedule, even if it's
10 minutes, like it doesn't needto be a ton of time, but like
10 minutes in your day, and takethat 10 minutes and say I'm
(19:10):
going to, I'm going to meditate, and then what can you tap?
When can you tack onto the endof the meditation or that quiet
time that makes you feel reallygood?
So this morning, I mean, I it'slike I'm a brand new person
today Hopefully this is just aone day thing Like I got up this
morning and I ran for a fewmiles right on my treadmill Not
outside, it's still bloody coldup here in New England but I ran
(19:33):
on the treadmill for a couplehours, got the kids on the bus,
and then I came back and Ishowered, etc.
Then I still had time before myclients.
And you know what I said I'mgoing to sit down, I'm going to,
I'm going to sit and I tossedon like a shamanic journeying
track and I did a shamanicjourney this morning.
So that's my version ofmeditation.
(19:53):
And I just sat with it for 30minutes, which is way longer
than I expected them to, butthey told me 30 minutes.
So I sat down and thenafterwards I got up and I got a
cup of coffee and it made mefeel really fucking good.
So I want you to think aboutmeditation.
See, this is it?
So you have to pair the thingsyou hate with the things that
you love, right, because whatmeditation does?
(20:15):
It feels to me personally, andprobably many of you, like a
freaking, complete waste of time.
Right, I know I should be doingit, but there's so many other
things that I need to do, thatactually need to get done, that
are real life, that pay thebills, that help me get things
done right, and so I putmeditation, or connecting with
spirit, really on the backburner 24-7.
They pop in all the time.
So it's not like I'm missingthem, but I hate it, point blank
(20:39):
, hate it.
But what they were telling methis morning in my meditation is
focus on the breathing, focuson the fact that you're setting
time for yourself, focus on thefact that you are resetting your
brain for the day to be moreefficient.
You are honing in on the tasksthat you're supposed to be doing
, and that's literally what theysaid.
They gave me a task list todayand they're like work on these
today, and not only that, butwhen you're meditating, you're
(21:02):
actually healing your own energy.
So there's like this double winof getting guidance and
obviously love, but also healingenergy in your meditation.
That is going to energize you, make you feel better and get you
off on the right foot for theday.
So I if that's not enough tomotivate you, alicia, I don't
know what is, but just knowyou're not alone.
(21:22):
Know that some days are goingto be better than others.
Some days you can probably fitit in, some days you can't.
That's totally fine.
The more that you create thepattern, the faster and easier
it's going to be for your brainto really just get in there and
get into that meditative stateand give that healing and all
that love.
So I hope that was helpful.
I hope that was helpful.
(21:42):
Well, that's all I had fortoday.
Everybody, I just want to thankyou so much for being here.
I truly humbly appreciate allof your emails.
If I don't, even though I don'treply to them one-on-one, I get
to them eventually on thepodcast.
But I just want to thank all ofyou.
I appreciate all of you.
So no-transcript.
