It's the first day of spring.
We're in a season of growth andrenewal.
For today's show that B Nala isnot invited back.

(02:29):
I've got a lot of new thingscoming up in the business, but
also to share some personalupdates.
I've got my sister and herfiance visiting this weekend.
For a quick day trip.
There'll be so great to see her.
And.
In bigger news.
My boyfriend has put his houseon the market, Trevor.
Because we decided that we aregoing to move in together.
(02:52):
So he's actually moving into myhouse.
So I thought I would share thatnews with all of you.
That means a Nala is movinginto.
We might need a gate to lock herout of the podcast.
Let's dive into the show.
So what's the biggest mistakethat I see.
When it comes to artists, posting their offers online.
I would say it's the mic drop.
Only posting your offers onceand then walking away.
(03:15):
And maybe.
I see the offer getting postedagain, or that piece of artwork
being marketed again for asecond time, and when that
artist doesn't get any nibbles, they stop there.
So, let me introduce the rule ofseven, this big marketing
principle that you need tounderstand when it comes to your
(03:36):
business and marketing your art.
It means that a customer needsto hear about your offer at
least seven times on average, before taking action.
Such as making a purchase.
Studies have shown that theaverage number of touch points
required before a conversion ismade is between six to eight.
(03:58):
Now, this really variesdepending on the industry and
the product or service beingoffered.
So this means for you that thenumber of times you need to show
someone an offer in yourbusiness.
Or a brand new creation.
Is going to vary.
Widely, depending on a lot offactors, like the type of
(04:20):
product or service, your targetaudience, the quality of the
offer and the marketing channelused.
So when you post that offeronce.
And it doesn't get any bites ornibbles and you post it twice.
I know your brain is going offwith a ton of negative talk
(04:40):
because it didn't work, butdon't give up because there's a
lot of factors at play.
The customer needs to see thatoffer at least seven to eight
times before the offer is reallysinking in.
Trust me.
I understand how this feels whenyou're painting, doesn't sell
for the first time.
You know, you're disappointed.
But when it doesn't sell so forthat third or fourth time that
(05:04):
you've made the offer, that'swhen your emotions start
weighing heavy on you and.
That's when the self-talk canreally get you down.
I have been there.
But the truth is you can stilltrust yourself through shaky
confidence if your faith isgreater than your fear.
(05:24):
And I share this with youbecause.
When I started my art business.
I didn't have the support of myparents.
There were a lot of naysayersand false beliefs about what it
means to be an artist inbusiness.
I had moments where I could notpay my bills with my art.
And there were times that Ithought I was doomed.
(05:45):
But ultimately I knew that Icould bet on myself because I
was the one in control of mythoughts, my actions and
therefore my outcomes.
Even if my parents or societycouldn't see the light yet, I
was determined.
And that belief, faith over fearand trial and error is what
(06:08):
built me a six-figure artbusiness.
So, let me ask you a question.
When was the last time that yousaw an ad more than once and
because of that, you gave ityour attention.
You can answer that question inthe episode comments.
And when we're chatting onsocial media this week, I want
you to tell me this.
How often have you beenmarketing a particular offer?
(06:29):
Did you hit the magic numberseven?
I can't wait to discuss it withyou.
Repetition is absolutely key toselling.
Having confidence in selfpromotion and comfortability and
the value your art brings isalso key.
Because this is what getsconveyed in the energy in your
offers, in your marketing copythat your customers are seeing.
(06:52):
Artist's asked me all the time.
Is sending more than one email, too much?
Is posting about this.
Art piece again, going to annoymy fans?
Am I going to get unsubscribes?
The answer is absolutely not.
People are busy.
People need reminders.
And you heard about the megamarketing principle, that magic
(07:12):
rule of seven.
People need to see your offeragain and again, for a multitude
of reasons.
When you own it, you won't feellike you are bothering someone
when you are marketing your artand asking for the sale.
This mindset is something thatwe focus on in art preneur
academy.
The entrepreneur mindset iscentral to everything you do as
(07:35):
a creative business owner.
Wouldn't it feel great to havethe mindset where you can
promote your art frequentlyenough to generate a sale.
And feel really good aboutselling your artwork to someone
who needs your gorgeouscreations.
That does it for this week.
My love.
Stay tuned for next week, we aregoing to expand on the seven
(07:59):
touch point rule when it comesto art pricing.
