My favorite part of the SWOT analysis is the “O”.  Opportunities.

(01:10):
Welcome back.
My very favorite empoweredartist.
We are using the SWOT analysistoday to uncover opportunities
to grow your business within thenext year.
If you were with us last time onepisode 35, you know that we use
strengths and weaknesses toidentify what went really well

(01:32):
in the past year.
And what didn't go so well.
So you can identify what youreally spend a lot of time on
and what grew your business, both in revenue and in joy.
And what you spent time on thatdidn't go so well and did not
grow your business.
I encourage you to listen tothis episode again and review

(01:55):
your strengths and weaknesses, the S and the w of the SWOT.
Because these two things aregoing to inform you and help you
with what we're doing today,which is the O and the S w O T.
The strengths and weaknesses aregoing to inform the
opportunities you can create foryourself and your business to

(02:17):
grow both in revenue and whatlights up your soul in the new
year, and both are equallyimportant.
Because I want to guide you tolive an independent, confident
and most fulfilled life that youabsolutely love.
For my Spotify and YouTubelisteners.

(02:39):
Drop me a comment on how yourSWOT analysis is going.
On Spotify you can reply to theQ and a for each episode.
On YouTube.
You can drop me a comment.
As you know, my SWOT analysis issomething I have been sitting
with.
I've been letting it marinate.
I've been sleeping on it, whichI think is the most effective

(03:00):
way to really analyze what'shappened in an entire year.
It's not something you canaccomplish in 15 minutes.
So this is our second episode.
We're actually going to breakdown the T in SWOT in our next
episode.
For our apple listeners, theapple prize cash is still up for

(03:21):
grabs.
Once we hit 88 written five starapple reviews, I'm going to be
pulling a winner from the lasteight reviews for an cash gift
card.
And at the end of this show,I'll give you some personal
updates of what I'll be doingfor the holidays.
So I hope you enjoy our secondSWAT episode today.

(03:41):
And the third part will becoming in January.
Today, I thought we'd start outwith a couple of tips on how to
approach the SWOT analysis.
Here are two things that you canreally keep in mind as you're
analyzing how your business wentlast year and where you want it
to go next year.
Number one.
Everything is an opportunitycost.

(04:03):
Meaning what you say yes to inyour business is energy and time
that you can't devote tosomething else.
The term opportunity cost issomething I learned in economics
class and college, but it'ssomething that every artist
really needs to think about too.
Because time is finite.

(04:24):
That's something we all have incommon.
So the more that my businessgrows, the less time I have.
And you can multiply that by 10when you factor in that I'm
managing a daily, chronicillness that is debilitating
with pain.
Which means for anything thatI'm truly passionate about and
want to say yes to, I have toturn down 20 other things that I

(04:48):
want to do.
But I'm not as passionate asthat one big thing that I have
said yes to, to give my focusand energy to.
And that's how you need to treatthe opportunities you select
this year.
Whatever you choose to make yourpriorities.
It doesn't mean your prioritiescan't change.

(05:10):
But after you brainstorm all ofthe wonderful ideas that you
have, you'll pick yourpriorities for the year.
Something to focus on that.
Something that you're going togive all of your power.
Now you may have some FOMO forthe opportunities that you
didn't choose.
But you can't be amazing at 20different things.

(05:32):
Multitasking is scientificallyproven to be impossible.
Tip number two in your approachto the SWOT analysis is to know
your mission.
In other words know exactlywhere your passions lie.
What lights you up the most?
There's a lot of hats we have towear and our business.

(05:52):
There's a lot of things that arejust necessary that we have to
do, but when it comes tocreating new offers and new
opportunities in our business,We have to be led by our mission
and our purpose that north starhas to guide us.
For me, it's teaching creatives, the skill of being independent

(06:13):
and confident business owners sothat they can live a life that
they love.
And the more lives I touch themore fulfilled I am.
That is my guiding star.
And it makes selectingopportunities more easy.
Because there's a lot of stuff Ilove doing in my business, but I

(06:34):
can't say yes to everything.
So when I know exactly what mymission is and what my purpose
is.
I can get things in alignmentpretty quickly.
And quick review SW OT.
SWOT strengths, weaknesses,opportunities, and threats.
Today, we are uncovering Oopportunities for your business.

(06:55):
So the question you're gonna askyourself is what opportunities
do I have to grow my business inthe next year?
Guess what?
It's my birthday.
My birthday falls in December SoI thought I'd celebrate this
really special birthday thisyear by gifting you a little
something.
So right now only you can getfour of my signature classes.

(08:04):

The main difference between theart business classes.
The Artpreneur academy is aentire step-by-step business
plan.
It's a 10 week course.
And the Sell art on socialsystem is a mastery tool.
It is a social media sales andsocial content planning system.

(08:28):
It takes four hours to complete.
These are completely differentmastery courses.
I highly recommend both programsfor artists who are serious
about having the right tools togrow your art business.

thank you to you.
Get this offer visit Jenna Webbart.com/birthday.
So you're going to look at thestrengths and weaknesses from

(09:14):
episode 35 to inform you.
Here are some other supportingquestions to uncover those
opportunities.
For me it's what opportunitiesdo I have to teach students a
skill that I'm great at, thatalso aligns with what I'm really
passionate about.
There's a lot of things mystudents asked me for that I

(09:36):
might not be passionate about.
There has to be alignment.
Another thing you can askyourself, what are my customers
asking me for?
Or what have I always wanted totry that I would be really good
at.
Your approach to this should bevery open.
There's a chance that next year,my business will look very much

(09:56):
the same, but with a few keychanges that will allow me to
really grow.
Or there's a chance my businessmodel will look entirely
different because I needed somedrastic changes.
You're going to be reviewingwhat you've spent the most time
on, where you've made the mostmoney.
What brought you the most joy?

(10:16):
And here is a tactile trick.
Draw a Venn diagram to findalignment and where the circles
overlap.
With what you spend time on,what makes you money and what
brings you joy?
And that's how you find anopportunity, baby.
You can write out thecategories, like what do I want

(10:38):
to try?
What do my customers ask me for?
What makes me money?
Write everything down and drawsome overlapping circles and
where you have the mostoverlapping circles is where
you're going to find the mostalignment and where you're going
to have the most joy and themost revenue.
So as you're looking at all ofthe brainstorming ideas, you're

(11:01):
writing down.
You're thinking what offers do Iwant to create in my business?
Or what did I spend time on lastyear that I just want to do more
of.
Or what do I want to expand on?
Basically it's what do I want topour myself into?
Devote all my energy and timeto.

(11:21):
Where am I going to place mypower?
Here's one of my favorite waysto think about it as well.
What is the one big thing youwant to master in 2024?
Whether that's a skill.
A mindset, a habit.
What's the one thing.
You want to master to move yourbusiness forward next year?

(11:45):
This is a great time to askyourself.
What's the one skill that I needto learn in order to grow my
business.
So you can evaluate what yourgoals are and what skills you
need to get.
There is your goal to drivetraffic to your website.
Do you want to get into agallery?
Do you want to paint murals inNew York city?
Do you want to become anincredible storyteller through

(12:08):
your art on social media?
If you do, what is the one skillthat you need to master to reach
that goal?
These episodes are short for areason.
It's because they areaction-based, I'm leaving you
the time to be introspective.
And put pen to paper.
And the real magic happens whenyou take that action.

(12:31):
So I wish you the best of luckon this next part of your SWOT
analysis.
And also looking back on thebeginning of your SWOT analysis
and after sleeping on it, whatnew ideas come to mind for your
strengths and weaknesses nowthat they're gonna inform your
opportunities?

(12:51):
We are coming up on Christmasand new year's.
So I thought I'd share a couplepersonal updates.
My boyfriend.
And I think in the beginning ofthe podcast season, I was
calling him mark Raffaellobecause he looks like mark
Ruffalo.
But I think I'll reveal hisname.
His name is Trevor.

(13:12):
And we've been dating sinceJuly.
So I think it's time that he hasa name.
So Trevor and I are plans sincewe won't be spending the actual
holiday of Christmas together.
We decided to go out to a fancydinner to a restaurant that we
both, I don't think he's dinedat it.
Um, here in Raleigh and.

(13:33):
I got a fancy dress fromNordstrom.
I'm excited to wear.
I'll post pics of that onInstagram, you might've saw the
other picture of Instagram andthe black sparkly dress.
That was really fun.
That was a Christmas gala hetook me to at the beginning of
the month.
so I'll try to share somepersonal pictures on there.
And then we'll be doing.

(13:55):
Some Christmas present openingtogether.
We've been watching Christmasmovies and doing puzzles
together.
Um, and then I'm going to go seemy family in Huntersville, which
is just north of Charlotte.
And it's a very small gatheringand because my sister will have
her fiance with her.
And it's just the two of ussiblings.
And then my two parents.

(14:16):
And then Trevor will be going tosee his family in Virginia, but
here's the kicker.
Here's the funny part.
So my sister's bringing her catto Christmas and this Christmas,
my dog isn't welcome.
Because we don't know how thecat and the dog will get along.
So Trevor's taking my dog toVirginia without me, which is
really weird.

(14:37):
I hope she's a good girl anddoesn't like have an accident or
anything, but she's been totheir house several times.
I've met his family severaltimes.
Um, so everybody cross yourfingers that Lola doesn't crap
on the carpet.
The podcast is going to returnin January with episode 37.
In episode 37, we will finalizeour SWOT analysis reviewing

(14:59):
threats that are standingbetween you and your goals for
the next year.

And wonderful Christmas andhappy new year.
And I forgot speaking of newyear, part of my birthday

(15:21):
present is to go see.
Uh, we're going to a legit catrescue.
It's legit.
I've been here several times.
I'm obsessed with tigers.
So part of my birthday presentwas to go to this cat rescue.
So we're doing that on newyear's Eve, which I'm really
excited about.
I'll try to post some picturesof that too.
On social media.
