I have so much respect for midwives and wise women who truly respect the physiological process of birth. There is a NOTICEABLE shift happening since 2020. Many new midwives are nurses who left the hospital and many women who saw the rise in home birth and decided to join that profession.
The shift of women desiring to birth at home is incredible, but I am finding that midwives are burning out and acting more like hospital protocols at home.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP.
My hope is that midwives DO contact me to have this conversation. I have one on one coaching sessions with so many traumatized home birth and ESPECIALLY birth center mamas. It is truly breaking my heart. I WANT to have more options for mamas. Unlearning bad habits is a hard thing to do as a human, but for the sake of humanity this needs to happen!
