Speaker 1 (00:01):
Deepak Chopra says this everyone has a purpose in
life, a unique gift or specialtalent to give others, and when
we blend this unique talent withservice to others, we
experience the ecstasy andexaltation of our own spirit,
which is the ultimate goal ofall goals.

(00:23):
Today, a little thing calledyour life purpose, Very little
thing.
Hi, I'm Thor Chalgren.
Welcome to.
Every Day A New Thought.
Today I'm looking at the seventhspiritual law of success from
Deepak Chopra's book, the SevenSpiritual Laws of Success.
This one is called the Law ofDharma, or Purpose in Life.

(00:47):
Now, this is the last episodein this series where I look at
all seven laws from the sevenspiritual laws of success.
You can find all the otherepisodes in the show notes, so
if you want to go back from thevery beginning and watch them
all, you can do that.
The link's right in the shownotes.
Today, this chapter is about thelaw of Dharma, and I just have

(01:11):
to say first that whenever Ihear that word now, I can't help
but think of the TV show Lost, which had a plot involving
something called the DharmaInitiative.
But this is not that so far asI know.
This is about purpose in life, one of the points that Deepak
Chopra makes in the Law ofDharma is that you have a unique

(01:36):
talent and a unique way ofexpressing it.
There's something you do betterthan anyone else in the whole
world.
He says that for every uniquetalent there's a unique set of
needs, and when those needs arematched with your talent, that's

(01:56):
where true affluence is.
So he says there are threecomponents to the law of Dharma,
and here they are.
One is that each of us is hereto discover our true self, our
higher self, our spiritual self.
He reminds us that we arespiritual beings having a human

(02:18):
experience, and part of ourjourney is to discover on our
own what that higher self is.
The second component says thatwe're here to express our unique
talents.
If you've ever been in themiddle of doing something you
love doing and you just losetrack of time, that's you

(02:39):
expressing your unique talents.
The third component is serviceto humanity, to serve your
fellow human beings.
He reminds us to ask thequestion how can I help?
Instead of asking what's in itfor me, we ask how can I help?
How do we then put all of thisinto practice?

(02:59):
Well, first, he says, focus onour spiritual practice, anything
that brings you to a closerawareness of that spiritual
essence of who you are, whetherit's meditation or getting quiet
that's going to remind you thatyou are a spiritual being and
take you closer to thatspiritual self.
Second, you make a list of yourunique talents.

(03:23):
What activities cause you tolose track of time?
When you do those, you areputting the law of Dharma into
effect.
Finally, you ask yourself howcan I serve, how can I help?
I close this episode, and infact this entire series, with
these words from Deepak Chopra'sSeven Spiritual Laws of Success

(03:45):
.
He writes this when yourcreative expressions match the
needs of your fellow humans, then wealth will spontaneously
flow from the unmanifest intothe manifest, from the realm of
the Spirit to the world of form.
You'll begin to experience yourlife as a miraculous expression

(04:08):
of divinity, not justoccasionally, but all the time,
and you will know true joy andthe meaning of success, the
ecstasy and exaltation of yourtrue own spirit.
That's the show for today.
