Ready to challenge the norm and explore a new perspective on your life's purpose?

In this finale of my 'Put Yourself First' series, I talk about creating a two-month purpose.

Life is filled with transitions - moving from raising a family to the enigma of what comes next often leads us to think our next purpose must span years. But what if we considered a shorter goal, one that could offer a refreshing identity to experiment with?

In this episode, I guide you through the benefits of a smaller-scale approach, such as setting a two-month goal to run a 5K race and becoming a runner. This isn't just about running - it's about using this smaller goal to pivot from your current state, and maybe discover a new passion.

To help you along this journey, I offer a free training series filled with an extensive array of two-month challenges you could undertake.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Every Day A New Thought.
I'm your host, thor Chalgren, and each weekday I share new
thought perspectives.
Today I'm going to wrap up thefour-part series I've been doing
this week, called Put YourselfFirst, and I'm going to do it
with a challenge.
It's this what are you doingthe next two months?
In the free training series Ihave and you can find the link

(00:24):
in the show notes I talk aboutthe idea of a two-month purpose.
Many of us, when we leave oneseason in our lives like being a
parent, raising a family welook at the rest of our lives
and we think that our purposehas to be that big.
Whatever I decide to do next issomething that's going to be

(00:45):
for the rest of my life.
That makes sense on one level, because raising a family was
like 20 years longer.
We think in that timeframe.
But what I want to say todayand this is something that I
cover in the free trainingseries is that sometimes it's
okay and it can actually helpyou to think in a smaller scale.

(01:07):
I suggest two months.
I suggest that you picksomething that you can
accomplish in two months' timeand something that, at the end
of which, will give you apossible new identity to try on.
For example, maybe you decideto run a 5K race and you set the
goal of running that race intwo months.

(01:29):
So when you do now you can sayyou are a runner, you might like
running, and now you can say Iwant to do more of that.
Maybe that then becomes apurpose for you.
Or you might say yeah, okay, Idid that.
What else is next?
Then you can try on a differenttwo-month purpose.

(01:51):
So if you're in a place whereyou're pivoting from one thing
to another, consider trying outa two-month purpose.
In the free video trainingseries I mentioned, I give you a
big list of possible thingsthat you could consider trying
on for two months.
Or maybe you already know whatyou want to do.
Anyway, you can find thatseries.

(02:13):
The link is in the show notesbelow.

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
