Playoff 2022 Special

In this episode, Shawna and Jen visit with Amber Ivy of Aubrey, Texas.  Amber and her family have lived in many places and as a coach's wife and she shares her experience.

One event that played a big role in their lives is her husband's battle with Guillain-barré syndrome.  Amber shares about this difficult time but tells us how this burden becomes a blessing and how she fought to keep hope alive.
The ladies also discuss:

  • changing a culture
  • feelings after a playoff loss
  • adjusting to having your husband home after the season is over
  • the grieving process of a loss
  • how it gets harder every year
  • the highs and lows of the playoffs

Amber tells us the hard part of being a coach's wife. We also get to hear about how one young man helped grow the student section at Aubrey HS.

Her favorite playoff memory proves that you should never quit playing until the clock runs out. Amber's advice on what she wishes she would have learned about being a coach's wife is great for new wives to know and consider.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
