Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Endorphasm
, mick, where we talk about all
things.
Endorphasm, I am your hostess, erica Porter.
We all face major decisionsfrom time to time, whether it's
contemplating a career change, amove, a split, a new
relationship, deciding to starta family or really any other
(00:22):
significant life choice.
It can be challenging to knowwhich path is right, and it
would be so much easier if wehad this crystal ball to guide
us.
But unfortunately, life doesn'twork that way and, quite
honestly, I think that thatwould be boring.
And instead, figuring out ifyou're making the right decision
(00:42):
is a bit more complex, and itinvolves a lot of reflection,
sometimes risk-taking, which canfeel scary and overwhelming.
But it can also be exciting, and your choices are your own,
which means the possibilitiesare limitless and you have the
(01:04):
power to shape your future andbe who you want to be, if you
give yourself that permission.
And while there's no magic wandto make hard decisions for you,
I think there are some tipsthat can help you get a clearer
sense of whether or not you areon the right track, and only you
(01:24):
can truly know what's best foryou.
But hopefully these strategiescan help you determine whether
you're heading down a path thataligns with what you truly want,
and I think it's reallyimportant to trust your gut.
There's a lot to be said forlistening to your gut, and often
that inner voice is guiding youtoward what feels right.
(01:49):
However, overthinking, comparing yourself to others and
listening to outside opinionscan drown out that little voice
that is trying to lead you inthe right path.
Little voice that is trying tolead you in the right path.
And if something deep inside istelling you that you're making
(02:10):
the right choice, it's worthlistening to.
And the same goes if you have anagging feeling that you're
choosing the wrong option andmaybe you feel pressured to make
a choice that doesn't feelright for you, and that's a
valid concern too.
I think you have to reflect onyour values.
Trusting your gut can be tough, especially if that inner voice
(02:35):
is just a whisper.
Taking time to reflect on whattruly matters to you can help
make it louder, and whetherthat's through meditation,
journaling, art, spending timein nature for me it's getting
down and dirty with anendorphasm class, because that's
(02:58):
when I have complete clarity, that's when I feel centered and
powerful All of those are greattools for reflection, and you
have to use whatever resonateswith you and whatever empowers
you with that endorphasm,mindset right.
(03:19):
This all comes down to power ofthe feeling, the feeling of the
power when we're able toconnect with ourselves on a very
deep level.
It helps us be able to maketough choices and to stay
aligned with our values, who weare as a person, what we truly
(03:41):
want.
And I think, once you've hadtime to reflect, think about
your core values.
Do you value connection,adventure, authenticity,
expression?
Consider how your decisionaligns with or contradicts those
values.
I think that it's important toexplore both positive and
(04:03):
negative what-ifs.
So when self-doubt creeps in,it's easy to get stuck focusing
on potential negative outcomes, and that's a space a lot of
people live in when it comes toboth small and big decisions.
And while it's natural toconsider what could go wrong,
it's important to balance thatwith positive possibilities.
(04:25):
If your mind keeps asking whatif I hate the new city?
I'm moving to Try reframingthat question.
What if I love it?
What if I make new friends andI enjoy exploring my new
neighborhood?
Shifting to positive what ifscan open your mind to the good
things that could come from yourdecision.
(04:47):
And the goal of all of this isto uncover what you, what you
truly want, not what othersexpect or what you think you
should and I'm putting that inair quotes what you should do.
So zoom out and gainperspective.
I know that when facing a toughdecision, it can feel all
(05:11):
consuming and, while it'simportant to take big decisions
seriously, you also riskoverthinking them to the point
of inaction.
And if you're feelingoverwhelmed, take a step back,
zoom out on your life.
Remember that this choice isjust one of many you're going to
make over time and even thoughit might feel monumental now,
(05:36):
this decision ultimately won'tdefine your entire life.
Ultimately, it's what you makeof it.
And making wise decisions andimplementing them effectively
really is often the key tosuccess.
And every one of us will makebad decisions along the way, but
by using kind of these methodsyou can minimize those mistakes,
(06:00):
especially the big ones.
And ultimately, I believe inrisk reward, cause and effect.
Everything we do has an equalor similar reaction.
So consider the risk rewardratio of any major decision that
you're making what's thepotential upside and what's the
(06:21):
downside?
Know that.
I believe everything isfigureoutable and if we make a
decision and we feel guided thatit is the right one and
ultimately is not the right one.
Things can change, make adifferent one.
But that's part of the journeyof life is learning to navigate,
(06:42):
listening to ourselves, trusting our gut, zooming out on
our life and ultimatelydeciding that risk, reward, that
cause and effect.
So here's to some greatdecisions, whether they are
small or big, and listen to thatvoice, let it be loud, let it
(07:04):
be heard.
Find what you need to reflectand explore that beautiful mind
With that love, health andhappiness and always much
respect.
