it's chatting them miles away, checking in on each other's
families or just sharing a goodlaugh.
Rob's been there, just a phonecall away, and it's something

Hello out there all my fellow truckers.
This is Doc Holliday.
I've been driving like 48 yearsover the road and still driving
, and I'd like to honor my bestfriend, Hollywood.
It was his name on the radioHollywood Rick Scott, out of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
I met Rick oh my God20-something years ago and we've

(44:28):
been best friends ever since.
Rick probably had about closeto 48, 50 years over the road.
He retired a few years ago andthe other day I got the bad news
last Saturday that he passedaway from cancer.
So I'd like to send an honor toHollywood.
He helped drivers out.

(44:49):
He did a lot for me.
He even helped me get my firsttruck.
He bought my first truck for meand financed it himself with no
finance charge and he's helpedseveral drivers get their trucks
and he was just a great guy.
Oh, Hollywood.
You could hear him on XM Radioat night on the Steve Summers

(45:10):
Trucking Show and the Bozo Showand me and Hollywood we always
would call the radio show andcut up and have a good time.
And sad to say that my friendHollywood passed away last
Saturday from cancer.
So I'm honoring Hollywood, Justcalls to honor him for

(45:31):
everything he's done for thetrucking industry, Just an
all-around great guy.

So this is old Doc Hollidayhere signing off.
Y'all have a good day.

Speaker 11 (45:46):
Hey everybody, this is Andy Prickett.
I was a guest on, I think, episode six of the podcast and I
would like to just take aminute to thank Cindy.
I'm guessing this is not goingto be the first person who
thanks Cindy.
Cindy, thank you for yourconstant encouragement to me,
even though we hardly know eachother.

(46:08):
I am a truck driver as well as aphotographer, and Cindy is
always texting me and messagingme and asking me to post some
pictures on the website and onthe Facebook group and
everything, and you've alwaysjust been a ray of sunshine and
an encouragement to me and, uh,you're also your tireless

(46:28):
efforts in trying to make this acommunity and this job.
That can be really challengingfor all of us, as we all know,
to try to make it, uh, help usto see a different perspective
and that things can just be, uh,really fun out here on the road
and if you take advantage of itand have the right attitude, so

(46:49):
that's really cool.
And I also just want to thankall the drivers out there.
If this is being aired onThanksgiving, I want to say a
happy Thanksgiving to everybody, especially those that are stuck
in truck stops right now.
That part sucks away from yourfamilies.
Try to make the most of it.
Keep your chin up, keep therubber side down and we'll catch
you all.
You keep rolling never fall onthe highway.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Hear the call for the journeys, big and small.
Lonesome nights under stars.
Headlights beam from afar eachmile, marking where you are
guiding us like a north star.
Thank you, journeys, big andsmall, lonesome nights under

(47:55):
stars.
Headlights beam from afar Eachmile, marking where you are

(48:17):
Guiding us like a non-star.
Thank you, truckers.
Thank you all.
You keep rolling, never fall Onthe highway.
Hear the call for the journeys, big and small us.

(48:50):
Thank you, truckers.
Thank you all.
You keep rolling, never fall onthe highway.
Hear the call for the journeys, big and small.
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (49:55):
Hi, my name is Delaney Daughtry and I live in
Snohomish, washington.
I wanted to call today to honora friend of mine, a very dear
friend of mine, who passed awaythis year, who was, for a brief
period of time, a long-haultruck driver, and for a long
period of time a delivery truckdriver which, as I'm sure you
all know, is really intenseduring the holiday season.

(50:17):
So I wanted to leave thismessage just to say to all of
you people out there that areaway from your families at the
holidays or don't have familiesto be with just take deep
breaths and remember thatthere's a lot of beauty in the
world and that there's a lot ofpeople out there that appreciate
you and what you do, and try tomake sure you make stops along

(50:41):
the way to see some lights orlook at the snow or appreciate
all the things that the holidayshave to offer.
And thank you again for whatyou do.
We couldn't do it without you.

Speaker 15 (50:58):
Hi there, I'm Sandy Sheen, Secretary and one of the
founding members of Truckers inPink Sisterhood.
I'd like to thank all of thesisters for their strength,
resilience and support as webreak barriers together.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Hi, this is Bobbi from Katy, Texas.
I do a lot of driving betweenKaty and Dallas so I can help
out with my daughter and herbrand new baby, and I just pass
a lot of trucks.
A lot of trucks are on thehighway with me between those
two cities and it really doesmake me appreciate how many

(51:36):
people serve our country in thisvery unique way of keeping our
supplies going from city to city.
And I also feel very safe onthe highway knowing that they
are there for some reason.
To me they are like thewarriors, the protectors on the
highway.
I always feel like if anythingwould happen.

Speaker 6 (51:56):
a truck driver would help us, and I just want to say
thank you.
Since we're in thisThanksgiving season, I am so
thankful for the truck driversin America.
Thank you all for your hardwork.
I know it's hard.
I just only drive four and ahalf hours, but boy, you drive
longer, and I do appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (52:15):
This is Donna Cauley, and I would like to thank
truckers for all their hard work.
I have a grandson and a cousinwho are truckers and wish them
all the best.
God bless you all.

Speaker 16 (52:30):
Hey everybody, it's Cindy Tunstall.
I just wanted to hop on hereand share my own gratitude
journey with y'all Y'all.
This has been such a fun year.
I'm so grateful for theEnjoying Life OTR Facebook group
and all of you that arecontributing in there and
sharing your journey and the funplaces that you're finding to
good food along the way and goodstops, and also life hacks and

(52:51):
sharing your healthier journey.
I'm just so very grateful forthe wonderful people in our
community.
I also want to give a hugeshout out to the Enjoying Life
OTR lead team.
You know my partner, melinda FoxWellington.
She co-hosts the show with meand she's been a great friend
and also helped me on myhealthier journey.
She just gives me so many greatlittle hacks that make the

(53:12):
journey easier for me, so I'm sograteful for all her wisdom and
the time and energy she'swilling to dedicate to the
podcast.
She knows we're both runningtrucking.
You know we're out here puttingon the miles and then finding
time to do podcasts on the side,so it takes a lot of time and
I'm really grateful for her.
And y'all know I added Dino tothe show recently and he had a

(53:32):
great episode and I thought, youknow I must see if he want to
come on the show and help me out.
He just has a big personalityand just got a fun energy.
So, dino, I'm so grateful foryou.
Y'all don't know this, but youknow he does a great job on the
podcast, but he also has somereally great ideas which we've
been implementing.
So I'm just so very gratefulfor him to come along on the

(53:53):
journey and again, same thing.
And he's running theentertainment freight out there
and he's on the road for youknow, long weeks and months and
months at a time and he's takentime out of his you know
downtime to contribute to thepodcast.
So, dino, thank you for allthat you've invested in the show
and and thankful for yourfriendship with me and the good
feedback that you give, and youhave great ideas and I'm just so

(54:14):
very grateful that our pathscrossed Well.
I also want to give a bigthanks to the rest of the lead
team.
In the Joy in Life OTR communityit takes time to moderate the
group and keep the group alignedwith our values.
You know everybody complimentsour group, that we have just a
great positive energy.
Everybody's on a growth mindset, sharing ideas and life hacks,
and that takes some leadership.

(54:35):
So I want to give a huge shoutout to the lead team of the
Facebook group.
So let me start with JessGraham, gemma Ford and also
Sharon Jola.
These are incredible women andthey're great friends to me, for
one, because I love the waythat they do life.
They have a positive outlook onlife.
They have a growth mindset.
They're trying to make the mostof the opportunity to travel,

(54:56):
you know, but also stilltrucking full time and putting
on big miles, and then theytruly believe they can make the
world a better place.
And that takes time and thattakes effort and you know, but
together we can do great things.
So I'm just so very gratefulfor these women and their
friendship and the way that theylead so well and enjoy life.
Otr Facebook group.
Also want to give a shout out toTodd Cantor.

(55:17):
He's been with me since thebeginning, does share.
Y'all see, y'all need to golook at the pocket and y'all
need to go look at the podcast.
I mean look at the Facebookgroup because he has found some
great food stops and you'regoing to want to mark them on
your must-see calendars if y'allhave a Google calendar, because
he's found some great stopslately and he's just really
generous to share those thingswith us and he shares the
location, what he did abouttruck parking, so he's just such

(55:41):
a blessing.
And then, behind the scenes,y'all don't know this, but he's
been a big help for me with thewebsite.
We've also talked about ideasto do some things, fun things
with an app and you know, justhas been a great encouragement
to me and just continues tooffer to be a help and support
and his friendship has meant theworld to me.
And then, finally, I can't Ihave to mention Brian Wilson and
Joe Lee.
I have to mention Brian Wilsonand Joe Lee.

(56:03):
These two men are over-the-roadtruckers and they are on a
healthier journey and they areso generous to share what's
working for them.
They've both been on thepodcast.
Well, actually the whole teamhas been on the podcast and I'm
so grateful for that.
But they're sharing the waysthat they're finding ways to
exercise, get moving out there.
You know it's hard.
You know we're putting up allthese big miles and the hours

(56:24):
are long, the days are long, andyou know it's easy to have a
bunch of excuses why you can'tget it done.
And then there's people likeJoe and Brian that are out there
getting it done and finding away to work and get you know,
get the work in, get the milesin, but also take care of
themselves while they're on theroad.
So they're sharing life hacks, they're sharing their good food
that they're eating and you knowtheir solutions for the
problems that we face.

(56:45):
That could be obstacles, butthey're sharing the way we can
overcome those and still have ahealthier journey on the road.
So I'm so very grateful forthem and their journey and their
contributions to the group.
Y'all know that in Joy and LifeOTR we made some fun music for
this episode.
But I have one last song I wantto share with you.
Do y'all remember?

(57:05):
On the last episode, joe Leehad written a poem about living
the dream and it tells his storyabout when that that little
spark ignited in him when hewanted to start thinking about
being a trucker as a young boy.
And he just just so beautifullywritten.
So I decided to do a treat forJoe.
I put his song to music.

(57:25):
So I took his the lyrics thathe had written in the poem.
I threw on some music that Ithought was so perfect and a
male vocalist, and it's just agreat way to share his story, so
I can't think of a better wayto end this podcast.
So this song is called Livingthe Dream, by Joe Lee.
So I'll let that be our endingfor tonight and I just want to

(57:46):
say a huge thank you for all theEnjoying Life OTR community.
I'm so very grateful for you.
I'm so grateful for yoursupport and encouragement and
your friendship and that you'rewilling to share your journey
with me.
I'm just so very thankful.
So y'all enjoy the song by JoeLee.
It's called Living the Dream.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
When I was a young boy, maybe not I helped to fix a
big truck that was down for atime, when the last boat was
tight and the fluids were allfilled.
Then came the moment it wastime for the key.
The man in the shop said, heyboy, and he tossed it all over
me, toss it all over to me.

(58:55):
So I climbed in the cab andfired it up with the hum of the
motor the smoke and the smell.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
I'll never forget it.
I remember it well.
As I sat there in the cab justholding the wheel, I thought to
myself man, I love how I feel Ipretended to drive it with
excitement and joy, and a dreamcame alive inside that young boy
.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
Well, I've done many things in my life since that day
, and although that dream faded.
It never went away every timethe rain passed me on its way,
there was a voice in my headthat said maybe someday.

(59:46):
Well, here I am, over 40 with abrand new career, and I can
hardly believe it as I look inthe mirror checking my trailer
and the road left behind here Iam living my dream, a mile at a

(01:00:09):
time.
Well, here I am, over 40 with abrand new career, and I can

(01:00:29):
hardly believe it as I look inthe mirror Checking my trailer
and the road left behind.
Here I am living my dream, amile at a time.
I'm out.
