The prodigal map returns! After three long years of increasingly frustrating updates that drove away casual players, Call of Duty Warzone has finally listened to its community by bringing back Verdansk – and it might just be the game's saving grace.

Stepping back into the familiar terrain feels like rediscovering an old favorite book. The buildings, sightlines, and strategic positioning that made the original Warzone so captivating are all here, but with thoughtful improvements that address previous shortcomings. The addition of natural cover throughout previously exposed areas, swimmable water bodies, and a refined loot system create a more balanced experience without sacrificing what made Verdansk special in the first place.

For casual players who might only get a few hours of gameplay each week, this update represents a significant win. The return of map knowledge as a competitive advantage means that even if you can't dedicate eight hours daily to mastering movement mechanics, you can still leverage your familiarity with the environment to outsmart opponents. The one-shot headshot capability of sniper rifles has returned, vehicles can once again be countered effectively with explosives, and the original Gulag provides a balanced 1v1 environment that feels fair for both competitors.

Perhaps most importantly, this update strikes the right balance between nostalgia and innovation. Rather than simply repackaging old content, Activision has carefully integrated modern improvements while maintaining the core experience that made Warzone a phenomenon in the first place. The floating loot visualization, progressive ground loot quality throughout match phases, and subtle terrain adjustments all enhance gameplay without fundamentally changing what worked.

If you've been away from Warzone due to frustration with previous updates, now might be the perfect time to drop back in. The learning curve is significantly reduced for returning players, and the more balanced gameplay creates opportunities for both tactical play and high-octane action. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a curious newcomer, Verdansk's return offers the most accessible and enjoyable Warzone experience in years.

While you're like earn thisSurvive.
Speaking of survival, Call ofDuty Warzone.
We talked about it a lot onthis show because we enjoyed it

(03:07):
when it first came out.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Even when we didn't, we still talked about it a lot
we still talked about it a lot.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
It's our highest episodes is Warzone tips and
tricks from five years ago.
But now we're back to talkabout some new Warzone because
Call of Duty Warzone has had atough go, you could say, the
last three years.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Not if you're a streamer that streams every day
for eight hours a day and canplay it all the time.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yeah, not if you're those kinds of people or you're
16 and your mind is just gearedinto this.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Now you merely adopted the Warzone we were born
in it molded by it If you'reone of those more casual people
like us that you know work anine-to-five and have kids and
you get one, maybe two nights aweek to play, you know like us
and it's really for maybe likean hour or two, If you're lucky
there's a Saturday night, it allkind of lines up.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Your wife's like go ahead.
And you get to play like three, four hours with the boys.
This is us casual folks, uscasual friends.
You know we're professionalcasual players.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
We professionally play.
We're pro four hours a week.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
We are pro cash, but call of duty finally had some
god-given sense to go back toverdansk, because we've only
been asking for it since 2021since they took it away and we
got caldera, which, uh, fizzledout pretty quick.
The only saving grace that theythat game still had was they

(04:36):
had a rebirth island, yeah,which I know you don't like I
like caldera though, yeah, butoriginal rebirth island with the
those weapons was the Olympics.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's still the Olympics.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
It was like Hearts on Fire was playing nonstop.
I mean, we were diamond lobbyplayers.
I could slide into a room andslide, cancel and break ankles
and I could take on three tofour people simultaneously and
win.
And then we went to Call ofDuty Warzone 2, which was a
little slower paced, morePUBG-esque.

(05:08):
No more one-shot headshotsnipers, which I liked.
They slowed the game down.
They undid everything that wasgreat.
That's really what they've donethe last three years is take
away everything that was greatand fun and make it worse.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I liked Warzone 2 on Urgic Stand, where you had to
get plates and plate carriersand stuff like that.
I enjoyed that.
Now it's when they startedgoing to the Infinity no, it's
not Infinity Treyarch, treyarch, black Ops games and stuff.
That's what I didn't like.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, I was not a fan of Cold War.
The weapons were amazing inWarzone.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
I mean, I'm not a fan of speed that frame rates can't
keep up with.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah or the rose skin , the original rose skin, which
was just a shadow that your eyecould not perceive moving.
Then we had Warzone.
I thought Warzone 3 was prettysolid.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
It was when it first came out.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
I thought that was really.
They were going back towardsthe light.
And then they went, made aU-turn, yeah they veered off the
road and then they just decidedto cut right across the median.
How much turn signal do I needto cut across all these lanes?
Good luck everybody else.
Tanker trucks are exploding andit was sad the vehicle sucked.
The Trucks are exploding and itwas sad the vehicle sucked.
The map was better.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
There was no surviving anything.
You didn't have to worry aboutsurviving because there was
Gulag tokens pizza box flares.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, redeploys jailbreaks like every game.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
It was just big map research, that's all it was.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Yeah, that's basically what it devolved into.
I mean, the more Call of Dutydid with this most recent one,
black Ops 6, the fan base justshrank away.
In other words, the guns, itwas all different.
The weapons feel terrible Omnimovement.
It's not a casual playerexperience, personally, so they

(07:03):
had the brilliant idea.
Finally, finally, you know whatwe're going to bring back.
Verdansk.
Go back to your bread andbutter, and they literally had
to.
This is betting it all on onehorse.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, Well, because I even mentioned, like you know,
if Verdansk fails, they'llprobably just stop with Warzone.
I don't know if it wasofficially mentioned, but it was
kind of thrown around.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
That's just kind of their idea, because the player
base was just depleting likehemorrhaging, which is wild From
what it was.
When it first came out, andlike we didn't know any better,
Warzone was uncharted territory.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Like it was just like , ooh, what's over here?
It's like you just didn't knowand I mean the hackers and all
the nonsense and the streamingstuff and it was close.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
It was close.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It was close.
It was a close call, but notclose enough, mitchell.
It was just a mess, but I thinkthis was a really good update.
This is probably the best Callof Duty update in the last
several years.
You brought us back for Dansk, the original map.
That subway nonsense doesn'texist.
There's no zip lines.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
No redeployed balloons.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
There's not the Nakatomi thing or that really
giant radar installation thatwas huge that you could
parachute off of.
Those were fine.
The stadium shut off.
There's the subway system.
Like I said, they didn't bringback the jeep truck, the blue
one that we had well, they kindof.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Basically they took place of it with the humvee
looking one yeah, which is fine,um the vehicles drive a lot
better yeah not as good aswarzone one, because that was
almost like they were like racecars I think say then you could
take the bertha like zero to 60in two seconds.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah, I mean it used to be like the Berthas would
disappear because you had tograb them.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And a lot of like playing solos or even duos,
trios, quads, whatever you weregoing to do.
The Bertha strategy at the endof the game was like, because it
was near impossible to getsniped out of it.
Yeah, and if you threw a trophyon it, you were golden.
There's no more of thatnonsense with, like those heavy
chopper you can't defeat, youknow.

(09:08):
And the helicopters now, I meanthey don't turn and drop and
fly on a dime like they did inthe original one, where you
could fly through downtown andcut between skyscrapers with
ease.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Well, they also brought back the floating loot,
so that stuff's not laying onthe ground and, depending on the
terrain, it just disappearsinto the ground.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Yes, that was a great quality-of-life update.
I think they called, theybrought back the Rose Skin, yeah
, but it's still not to thedegree that it was and it like
sparkles so it's kind of it'snot what it was, but it was kind
of funny that they brought thatback.
Three weapons they brought backfor that update the Kilo 141,
the AMAX and the HDR.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah the HDR, yeah, yeah, the sniper
rifle, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
The OG one-shot sniper, the original meta sniper
of Warzone.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Even without attachments, before the Kar98
and the SBR.
Even without attachments, itshould be.
It's what a .50 cal round.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
It's like an anti-material rifle.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Even without attachments, it should be a
one-shot down yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I mean, we played it when it came out.
It's like we're going to checkit out, because I think I played
my first game.
It was like nostalgia comingright back, because it was like
the OG, gulag and the weaponsand some of the original.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Now, I don't know if you've played any more than I
have, but we still haven't won amatch since we've been back.
But we've gotten a lot closerthan what we were.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah, we have started to get closer.
A lot of stuff I've had totweak because the aim assist
controls are totally differentthan they were back then,
because basically they did itbecause streamers complained
that controller players onconsole had way too much aim
assist inputs.
Yeah, and they need to be moreonline with PC players, which is

(10:58):
BS, because they get to usetheir whole arm to flick and
move around and it's a tip ofthe wrist or they move right to
their elbow or their shoulderit's a whole arm motion control
and move around and like it's atip of the wrist or, you know,
they move right to their elbowor their shoulder as like it's a
whole arm motion control.
To do it on a cursor that youcan make bigger and see on your
screen as you go across to lineup and do stuff, versus I have
to use my thumb yeah, well, Imean.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
the thing is, though, like their, their red dot or
whatever will move to whateverspeed they're moving their mouse
.
So I can't, mine doesn't move,that I have to push right and
just wait until it gets thereeven if it's fast.
Like.
I have no control.
If I turn the speed all the wayup to where it's the same speed
as a mouse and keyboard, if Iflick right I'm going to do like
a 360.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I have no control to be able to stop it and the
recoil controlling is differentthan it used to be, Because
there's a lot more visual recoil.
There's some stuff I've seenwhere you can kind of reduce it
with like your weapon FOV.
I mean you can turn motion bluroff.
And if you're using motion blur, why do you hate yourself?
I mean, why Do you just wantmotion sickness?

(12:01):
Is that how you live your life?

Speaker 2 (12:03):
I live on the edge.
I live on the ragged edge.
I love nausea.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
It's just stupid.
But we got in there, we weregetting pretty good, we were
getting back.
I mean it was rough.
It was rough coming backBecause we really had not played
consistently in a year.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah, I mean, we played here and there, but not
very much.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yeah, I mean we play here and there, but not very
much.
Yeah, it was few and far, because the last year Hayden was
gone.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
We'd get on and we'd play two or three games.
All right, that's enough ofthat, let's go to this game.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Because we would start to play and we'd have one
good game to start and then it'djust go downhill because it'd
be like suspect players, hackers, we're getting cheesed out.
I'm not having fun.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
And I know there still is hackers and stuff right
now, but so far I haven't mewhen we've played, I haven't
encountered any that are obvious.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
There's some that are really obvious.
The weirdest thing is justseeing how far leveled they are.
Yeah, like level, like plus 100at level of accounts.
You know multiple prestiges butthey're hacking.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
They got walls on.
I watched a video with Jeff hewas watching a guy a couple days
ago and the dude's like levellike 400 or something and I'm
just like and the dude'scheating.
It's like where's Ricochet?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Well, I mean, I have seen people on TikTok and stuff
streaming, yeah, Advertising thecheats, and they're streaming
playing, showing you how thecheats work.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
It's like why is this not?
You know?
Why hasn't nobody stopped it?
Why is this guy not gettinginstant banned yesterday?
Yeah, so I mean there was acouple instances we played on
the new, on the new, back onVerdansk, where it was.
They were a little sus.
The little indicator went fromyellow to red or from green to
yellow, like in the oldassassin's creed games.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
it's like there's someone prowling around here
well, and then you know, withthis new map or well, I say new
map with them going back toverdansk, they did make some,
some like quality of lifeupgrades where, like now, the
water doesn't insta kill you,you can swim in it, which
actually helped us out.
The other day we were playing,we, we were on the dock we had
to make a swim run for it yeah,we pretty much we grabbed, we
called in our uh loadout yeahloadout came in, we grabbed that

(14:06):
didn't have any hardly any ammoand there was two teams on both
sides of us, for whateverreason, called a truce and
decided to attack us yeah, let'skill them first, and then we
will fight to the death well, our two randoms went down.
Tom was running in the otherdirection for me, so I was like,
oh well, I jumped in the waterand I just swam away I ran over
went left, I went right, andthen I bought you back later.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Yeah, they ran me down and it was wild.
I mean, the aggressiveness inthis game is out of control.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
But one thing that is good, though, is like with
those snipers.
Now you can kind of slow thataggression down.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
If you're far enough away and you got a good spot,
especially like a lot ofskyscrapers around the downtown
area, especially in yourhospital and stuff, they made
them very defendable.
Yeah, because it used to be.
You had stairs to get up there, helicopters could land on it,
there were zip lines.
You'd have to throw up mines, claymores, c4s, trip mines,
whatever you're going to do,whereas you can hold a roof and

(15:00):
then you wait for somebody tojust crouch, walk all the way up
the stairs and kill you andHayden.
I killed myself and Hayden andyou never hear it.
Yeah, you don't like.
The audio is still, eh, betterthan it was.
I'll give you that it's betterthan it was.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Now they did say they are going to add those
ascenders or stuff on theoutside of buildings, but not to
the degree that they had thembefore, Because, like airport,
they'll put one on there, because there's no way to get to
the roof once you've landedthere other than if there's one
of the ascenders.
So they're going to add a fewhere and there, but nothing like
what they had before.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
It was the same with Stadium.
Yeah, you had to fly ahelicopter to land on it, but
you were so exposed becausethere's no cover up there, right
.
And then they blow up yourhelicopter.
It's like you know you got tojump off and everyone would just
be waiting underneath likeangry sharks.
It's like, come on, come on,just land in the water.
And you hear the whoosh.
You know someone pull a chute.
You just hear.
And just watch blood andtracers go everywhere.

(15:54):
Just something Ah.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Yeah, but I mean I do like the city and stuff.
I don't know why, but Verdansk, the city and the layout is a
lot more user-friendly asopposed to Urzikstan, where I
felt like Urzikstan, I'm runningand I'm just like basically.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Why are the stairs on the outside of this building?
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
well, like fishing a barrel when you're running
through that city, as opposed tothis one.
There's like little alleywaysand stuff you can duck into if
you're being chased.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
You can mix and match what you're trying to do.
You have options about what youwant.
It's not just you're runningout in the wide open and even on
the old Verdansk was wide openat a lot of spots.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Which they've kind of changed now.
They've added bushes and rocks.
They added bushes trees.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
You know they added things to kind of make it a
little.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
You're not just out on this hill.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's not like Normandy and you're just.
Running across an open beach atmachine gun nests.
Yeah, you know you have it.
There's some cover, somethingyou can lay down behind Cover
concealment, perhaps I will saythe aiming and like recoil
control.
I still have not gotten it backdown.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
I feel like it's gotten a little bit better.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I should have just slowed my sensitivity down to
less than one.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Well, really, other than I mean, granted, I didn't
use sniper rifles as muchbecause they, you know, the last
year and a half.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
The last good run of sniping we had since the OG was
Warzone 3 with the what is thatthing called the bullpup sniper
rifle, the Z-TAC or something.
I don't think it was the Z-TAC.
I can't remember Whatever thatthing was, because if you had to
put on the interest of the game, you put on certain attachments
.
It became a one-shot headshot.
And you could put the eagle'seye 2.5 on it and it was just no

(17:39):
glint and we would take the bigtower, the big skyscraper and
we would just laser people thatand then uh I thought I totally
patched it.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Urzikstan has had some good sniping when it first
showed up and then it became, you know, no more one-shot
snipes anymore.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
I think the best gun in that game was probably with
the rpk yeah, with no recoilwhen it came out yeah, there's
no recoil and you can put likean ACOG without Glenn and stuff
on it If you mounted it was notgoing to move.
Oh, they also added the GROW.
I forgot to mention that thatwas a GROW attachment on the
SWAT 556, which is one of theworst guns in that game, but
becomes one of the best, butbecomes one of the best.

(18:10):
That's what I use, just becausethe recoil management is so
easy.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yeah, but there's other guns that have a little
bit more damage or a little lessrecoil.
Well, a little more damage.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
I don't know of another gun that has less recoil
the AMAX slabs.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
But I don't think there's another gun that has
less recoil than when you putthe ground.
You know certain attachments onit.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, it's easily the most manageable one.
It's the most forgiving to use.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah, attachments, yeah, it's easily the most
manageable one, it's the mostforgiving to use, yeah, and it's
still I mean, even withoutsights, just using iron sights.
It's pretty accurate.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
And I'm glad they kind of brought back that kind
of classic growl Because thatwas like the best iron sights in
that game.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Oh yeah, you could actually see.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
You could eyes, or I could see his goggles and he's
like look at those eyes.
But it was like a totalnostalgia trip, just going back
and playing, because I knewwhere everything was yeah, I
didn't have to look aroundeverywhere I went, I knew where
I was and what was around me,like when we landed in prison.
It's like I know the two waysto get to where I am that on the
outside or the three ways youhave to go across either the
outer perimeter walls or theycome up underneath and there's a

(19:18):
ladder at the very front whereyou come through the archways
where the buy station should be,where you can jump off on the
left and on the back.
How to get in through thebasement where the gulag is and
fight your way around, I willsay the ground loot is brutal.
It's like they don't want youto win.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
One thing I've noticed is that the loot at the
very beginning of the game is alot less than at the end, Like
at the very beginning, you'regetting pretty much basic guns
out of boxes.
As the game transitions througheach circle, I feel like the
loot that comes out of the boxis a little more on par with
closer to loadout.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Because you know guys are going to be having loadout.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
So you get guns with a lot more attachments, bigger
mags optics, we'll land onprison and we'll find like three
guns total.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, I have a pistol , mitch has a rock and Hayden
has a boomerang and the Dragunov.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
And it's like well, and there's enough ammo for two
of those guns.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
And then here comes a helicopter, you know, with a
full team in it and they haveSMGs, it's like, and then we
take some pot shots.
They squash one of us, I jumpoff, get shot in the back and
down, and then Mitch is justsomehow already at Lumberyard.
There's just nothing I can do.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Look, I might not be great at killing people, but I
am good at staying alive.
Whether I abandon them or notis besides the point.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I'm alive.
It was funny because I clippedit.
I sent it to you.
My first kill back?
Oh, yeah, and it was.
I had the HDR.
I don't know I didn't have theHDR, I had the other 50-cal bold
sniper with a big scope on itand I landed on a TV station.
As you know, doctrine dictatedfor the, for the entertainment,
the entertain this boys backthen.
And he I shot him off the roof,he, he with a pistol, and he

(21:02):
went down.
He started looting below me andI found a sniper.
I was no other weapons, Ididn't, I had a shotgun and I
could hear him underneath me andI was like rotate around, like
that, uh, the half circle, partof the front of the tv station
where it's all glass andskylights so you could see down.
Yeah, and he I guess he'd neverplayed for that map because he
had no idea.
I was on the roof lookingthrough it at him and he just

(21:23):
comes out, looks, pow.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
I shot right in the face, killed him in one shot and
I was like yes, map knowledge,I'm back, baby it is nice to
revisit and the map for the most, the most part, is the same as
far as like angles and stufflike that.
It just makes me feel nice itfeels good.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
It was good to be back where we were supposed to
be.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Well, because, like I made like a little short video
that I shared on our socialmedias where the two of y'all
had jumped we had left TVstation, jumped down towards a
little Burger Town area.
Well, you two were looking forthis guy that we know.
He landed over there and ashe's looking around, he pokes
his head out of the gas station, pop him in the face Instant
death.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I'm so happy they brought back one-shot headshots.
Yeah, because I mean it's hardto nail them.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Well, even if you do, if you shoot somebody with a
sniper rifle and they're able tojust run away, what was the
point of me even having this?

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Yeah, it's like total play break.
It's like, well, now I've gotto switch A.
Hopefully there's enough time Ican rechamber and hit him again
.
Or he slide cancels into abuilding or into a vehicle and
then I'm screwed.
Or switch to an SMG or anassault rifle and try to gun him
down.
Yeah, because even then it'sjust hit marker, hit marker, hit
marker, hit marker.
And then he makes it into coverand I didn't kill him.

(22:37):
I'm like, and he's one shotlike a stern gaze and he's dead.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Well, like you know, if you can't one-shot down
people with a sniper rifle, it'spretty much useless, unless
they're in an open field withnothing to cover them, and
switch to your other gun.
But it's a sniper rifle.
There's a reason.
It's a one-shot gun, becauseit's supposed to be that
powerful.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Yeah, if I'm shooting at you with a bullet the size
of my pecker.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
You're barely going to feel it.
Oh sorry, bbs, don't hurt Tom,you're like screw you, man, I'm
shooting bananas at people MitchBig old bullets.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Who's got the biggest bullets on the show?

Speaker 2 (23:21):
They're a little flaccid, wobbles through the air
.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
When someone gets shot, it's like when someone
gets shot, it's like he justsmacks leaves a leaves a stamp
across the side of his face sostupid.
Oh man, this show's devolvedreally fast and Hayden I know
Hayden's just rocking back andforth right now.
Listen to this.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
This is for you oh, my eyes are watering now, but
yeah, the sniping, we're happy.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
We're happy it's back big old bolts.
Yeah, big guns but like, even ifyou're out in the middle of
nowhere now, like because therewas one uh one game where we
ended up like the hillside um onthe right side of the map yeah,
because I think yeah, becausewe end up in the trees, like on,
like a hill that everyoneBecause I was like let's just
ride the right side, becausethat used to be a strategy to do

(24:18):
if the circle was going to beover there.
Which is nice that we playedthis before, because the circle
a lot of the games we've played.
We see where we start and weknow roughly where we're going
to be.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah, we kind of gauge it out.
You know the circle's going tokind of move, you know upright
or up-left?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah, not the nonsense where it splits into
three smaller circles and you'vegot to make it to those and
they converge, or something.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, there's none of that nonsense.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
It's just, it's like it's going to be tight boys.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
But the fact that they added in the randomness
that like.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
RPGs blow up a vehicle and it'll kill you.
Yeah, that's good.
I and we're all sitting on thesides with RPGs shooting at the
vehicles.
Good question, I thought aboutthat Like we used to in the
original and yeeting C4 cars.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I watched Tim the Tapman and Nick Merckx and I
forgot who the other guy theywere playing with, but it was
the three of them.
They jumped in a vehicle and,as they're driving around, tim
turns into the city and theyimmediately go no and blow up
because they know people arewaiting as soon as tim turned
into the turned into the city, they got blown up.
They got shot.

(25:18):
The vehicle blew up.
They all went down.
They got shot again, with therpg all dead because just like
that dead well, it makes.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
It makes a more even ground fighting you know, but
that used to be like a thingbecause you're getting chasing.
It's like if you found a c4, ohyeah.
Or if you had a claymore, yeahclaymores would even like a
thing, because you'd get inchase and it's like if you found
a C4.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Oh yeah, or if you had a Claymore, yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Claymores would even set it off because you could run
, turn, plant it, run and thenturn as they were going to get
to it, shoot it and it wouldblow up and blow up the vehicle.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
And see that chaotic death is okay to me, as opposed
to somebody just running andsliding back and forth trying to
shoot me it's like yeah I'llaccept being blown up somebody.
I'll be mad about it lightspeed but yeah, the movement's
still a little well, becausethey kept in like you can slide
and all that stuff.
They just slowed it down, whichI'm okay with.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
I'm okay with that yeah it's the only movement's
gotten me killed more times thannot, especially before this
update yeah, yeah.
Because it's like no, I wantedto just slide and be in this
corner.
I didn't want to dolphin divesideways trying to shoot this
guy between my legs into a walland get stuck, because now I got
to stand up to now move now andthen try to, and I'm tapping B.

(26:28):
It's like crouch crouch behindthe thing.
Crouch, crouch, crouch.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Now I don't know if that's something, if that's just
like a glitch that they'rehaving a problem with, but I
have noticed that a couple times.
Like, if I dive, then my guywon't stand up, he'll stay
crouched and I can't get him tostand all the way up.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Yeah, it's.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Because I thought maybe I was stuck under
something, but I wasn't.
My guy would not stand up.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
It's like Is this a medical emergency?
Is that what?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
you're doing?
You're shooting at a mansuffering from a medical
emergency Very unsportsmanlike.
There's so many guns thatthey've kind of made it to where
some of the older ones.
If you go back and play withthem a little bit and put the
right attachments, some of theold guns are actually just as
good as the new ones at themoment.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, there's been a couple videos of certain weapons
from the og days.
Yeah, or not the og days, because the og those.
We will never get to play withthose weapons again.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
The original m4, which was like the best assault
rifle in the entire game theones we already had leveled up
yeah, that was some kind of bs,though, I will admit.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Or it's like the growl, the amax, the kilo, the
hdr, and it's like, oh, levelone.
I was like this is the Kilo, the HDR, and it's like, oh,
level one.
I was like this is bull.
And I was like five years ago Ihad all these guns maxed out
and I had every attachment andall the camos, like I had
obsidian for these they did addback in the you know, being able
to shoot people as they'reparachuting in which, at times

(27:52):
times is challenging.
Sometimes it's a, but it's aninteresting dynamic again, Cause
before you could just landwhere you want it with impunity
yeah.
Now if you're going in withanother team, hey, not all you
might make it.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Well, cause there's either you or Hayden.
Somebody was falling in behindand shooting at him, so and then
either me and you were doing it.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
We're doing it Cause I broke the guy.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Yeah, me and you were doing it because I broke the
guy.
Okay, yeah, and then he gunnedit and then I just see you come
flying over my shoulder at Mach3 to catch up to him and down
him while I'm trying to fly andreload, so he was chasing Hayden
and Hayden's like help me, helpme, so you come flying in.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
You broke him and then, while you're reloading, I
come flying in to start shootingat him as well.
Yep, got him Now granted.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
His two buddies were behind us on their way in, and
then we landed and I found likea musket and they found MP5s and
I got gunned down immediately.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
It was just like I had a bow and arrow with no
arrows.
I had a rock.
Yeah, I mean, like I said, theloot when you first land is kind
of bad.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Yeah, they did tweak it.
At least it's fair.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Yeah's like no money though yeah, like even towards
the end of the game there's nomoney.
Yeah, which makes it hardbecause we've gotten a couple
times where, like we're tryingto reset but there's just no
money to buy anybody back andwhile, while I'm okay with that,
I'm mad at the same time, because I'm glad that other
people aren't being bought backas easily as well yeah, I need
the, but I need the money to buyback my team.

(29:16):
It doesn't mean I'm good tosurvive if I have no money to
buy it back.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Yes, and it is kind of funny seeing people who
played the original and comingback, because a lot of people
who are playing now never playedthe original one.
They didn't get into it untillater and it was like Warzone 2
and 3.
So, and it was like Warzone 2and 3.
So they didn't know all theupdates that happened to the
original versus when we started, which was like the day after it

(29:40):
launched.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Now something that we'll see.
I'll just read this here.
It says like we never left 150players the original announcer
shooting during free fall, original infill cinematics all
before you hit the ground.
So they've put back in the 150players that for a while they'd
gone away from.
And then I think they had 150right before they switched back

(30:04):
to Verdansk.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, because they were having, I think, server
issues with that many people.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
But the fact that they can use it now is
encouraging.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
It's nice to be back to the way things were.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
And is this?

Speaker 1 (30:17):
really like a study and, like you guys, don't like
progress Like back in my day onWarzone and now we get to go
back and we're still like, stillnot the same as it used to be.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
It's not the same as it was.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
No, yeah, I mean it's still not the same, but it is a
lot better which I enjoy.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
The controller inputs are all different.
Now the weapons are different.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Now they did say that the bunkers are still in
Warzone and those will come backinto play because, like, if you
walk up to some of theunderground bunkers, you can
walk up to the keypad and itgives you the prompt to touch it
, but nothing will happen at themoment.
So they're going to do moreEaster egg kind of stuff, so
hopefully they'll have some goodthings coming along.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
I'm just curious what's going to happen with the
next Call of Duty integration, because it's going to be a
couple of months.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Yeah, unfortunately, for whatever, and I don't know
whose whose turn is it.
Is it well the thing liketreyarch did black ops 6?
Yeah, and from what I heard, treyarch's doing this year's
game as well.
Oh no, I hope.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
I mean, yeah, it's not exactly I'm not a big fan of
the treyarch ones.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Honestly, other than the original black ops and black
ops, I haven't liked any ofTreyarch's.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
No, or World of War.
World of War is slapped.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
But that was a different era.
That was before.
That was when 10v10 onlinemultiplayer gaming was wild.
Let's see 20 people in onelobby.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
They returned with the Thermite grenade.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Yeah, I forgot, thermite was not in the game.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Yeah, I didn't even pay attention that it wasn't
until just recently when theymentioned it, so now you can hit
the vehicles with it.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Yeah the radius is a little bit more wider than I
remember.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Getting killed by thermites.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Let's see.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
And they kill you pretty fast.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
They added in the original mortar strike precision
and UAVs.
Okay, they did leave in thebunker buster.
I was surprised.
I hate the bunker buster whichI mean I kind of understand it,
though, because if somebody isjust hiding in a building and
you can't get them out, if you,if you happen to come across
that, yeah, it's useful yeah.
That sucks when you're the onehiding and trying not to come

(32:35):
out.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
And it's like, oh God , the bunker but like next game,
it's like oh man, we need abunker bus.
Let's get this guy out of here.
Yeah, he's like oh my god, howdare they?

Speaker 2 (32:45):
um, but they went kind of back to the uh, the
original contract.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
They did leave the big game bounty one in there but
I'm fine with that one stayingwell yeah, because, then but I
like it was like the oldcontracts, like the recon one,
where I can just dive on thatbox and it's like it shoots off
the firework.
Yeah, and then I just stayedthere for an amount of time.
I don't have to find something, drive, climb up a ladder, enter
in some codes, put in a VHStape and, like you have to stand

(33:11):
up while you do it.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Yeah, they went back to the original public events.
That happened like in-game,where you had the fire, sale,
jailbreak, loadout drops andthen you know I have not seen a
jail break I haven't yet eitheryet, but I haven't stayed.
But most of the time when Istay after we've died is only
because we're like in the top 10already, so it's not gonna be a
jail break.
Yeah, uh, let's see.

(33:36):
Oh, went back to the originalgulag yes, I'm glad for yes, so
because I've noticed that thatsome of the newer Gulags they
weren't exactly fair when itcame to terrain.
One side would have adistinctive advantage of
coverage.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
There was a more immediate coverage.
You can get to and have glitchon.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Yeah, and at least it's not like the Gulag 2 where
you have the Warden.
I didn't mind the 2v2 as much, but the Warden that would jump
in with a minigun towards theend.
It's like come on now the 2v2.
I thought was kind ofinteresting because you had to
team up with some random guy.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Yeah say hey, buckle up.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
I had some good, interesting fights with that.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yeah, but if we all killed the warden, we all got to
do it, but people would startshooting the warden.
Then you just cap the other twoguys alright, get the warden
you can't trust me let's see.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
What else do we have here?
There's a lot of on this thingthat I'm looking at.
There's a lot of redacted stuff.
They're like, oh, you can'treveal this yet we can't tell
them about everything.
I do like that they changed thesquad redeploy, where you don't
have to go and hit individualeveryone.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
you can just hit X and deploy all or as many as
possible.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Which is nice, because if you have the money,
it's nice to be able to calleverybody.
Let's see they added in whereif you pick up somebody's weapon
and you really like the way itshoots, you can actually inspect
it and it'll tell you theattachments that are on it.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Which is nice.
That is a nice little feature.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
It tells you relatively how you die.
Like you know, when you'rewatching the kill cam it'll be
like, oh, you were pinged, orwhatever.
Which?

Speaker 1 (35:18):
is.
It's helpful, althoughsometimes I don't feel like it's
always accurate.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Because sometimes you don't even get a kill cam,
which is kind of annoying.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Yeah, there's a lot of times like the ones I don't
get.
I'm like I wanted to see thatone, yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Because that one seems there's a reason you
didn't get to see that one.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
It's just like no, you don't get to see that one,
because then you're just goingto report them for hacking.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Let's see this is confirmed.
Maps and modes oh, verdant'sReturn.
Rebirth will be returning witha Rebirth Island launch window,
so it'll be returning hereshortly.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
I think it's already back.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
It might be I hadn't played in a week or two, let's
see.
They did make the Battle Royalecasual.
Which have you played that anyyet?
I haven't played the one withthe bots and a couple other.
Yeah, basically it's 150players, it's 150 players, it's
148.
Yeah, sorry, quote unquoteplayers, Because there's 28
actual players and then the restare bots.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
And it shows.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
And so you meet the real ones and you're like no,
that's a real guy.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Well, they said that the AI for the bots is pretty
realistic as far as, like youknow them not just standing
there walking into trees and allthat kind of stuff Like PUBG.
Yeah, they just step in and outfrom behind a tree.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
They just run back and we're like you can't catch
me, but it's interesting.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
It gives, I guess, less competitive people a chance
to kind of get a taste for itbefore they just jump right in,
which isn't bad.
Let's see, there's supposed tobe more stuff, like more events
and stuff coming, like what Italked about with the bunkers.
We'll see.
You know what else they add tothe game.
Uh, that they had the uhspecial, like.

(36:57):
What I like is that they hadthis special operator, like I
didn't get it, but if you wentaround and found all those
little safes, it could be in oneof those safes.
I kind of like events like that.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Yeah, how many safes do we have to open before we get
it?

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Well, it was just random, it was randomly on every
map, it was randomly in one ofthose safes, but, like, I never
got that one, but I like eventslike that, it's just something
cool to have you just unlock it.
Yeah, I wish they would do morestuff like that, as opposed to
like oh well, you do this, this, this and you get this special
gun that has all theseattachments and this special but
you got to go here and do thisand go across the map.

(37:33):
Yeah.
It's only really going to workif this zone looks like this
yeah, that's too detailed, but Ilike this where you just search
the different saves in thedifferent areas.
They're eventually going toopen back up train station.
They're eventually going toopen the stadium back up.
They said they were takingtheir time to go through it One
little piece at a time.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Don't overwhelm us too much.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
They probably had the Cali sticks.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
Yeah, might as well.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
I watched one guy wipe an entire team because he
snuck up behind him.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Yeah, I mean versus the knife of the baseball bat
the skateboard.
Yeah, Just stupid.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
That's okay, I've got size.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Yeah, I was all about the Ninja Turtles Running
around, as a Ninja Turtle, thatturtle with a gun has a knife.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
That's all I really had.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
That's not really good.
We just wanted to talk about itbecause it's been out and we
played it.
We want to give an opinion anda little review about it.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
I'm glad it's back.
It's made me enjoy playingWarzone.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
I don't wince anymore at let's play Call of Duty,
because after a while I was likecan we just play golf with
friends?
And Hayden's like no, we'replaying golf.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
He's like no, I mean, I've enjoyed playing, even
though we haven't won, like youknow completely, but I feel like
we've won in our hearts.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
This is a victory for us.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
It's fun to play again, that's all I was hoping
for.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Well, thank you for joining us on this little Tom
and Mitch special.
We try to do these every sooften when the mood strikes us
and Hayden's not here.
Are we going to talk about?
Welcome to the Warzone andHayden, your Honor.
I object.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Erroneous.
We enjoy talking about Warzone.
We'll have to play a littlemore of it together so we can
regale people with our antics.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
And our exploits on the field of honorable conflict
Talk about them.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
Floppy bullets, tom's movement.
It's funny, sorry.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
It just looks like a fish getting thrown Just.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Oh God, Then you wish you were dead.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
You hear me in the butt, back of the knee.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Just don't have your mouth open.
No, no.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Run with your mouth closed.
Breathe through your nose.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Anyways, Tom, anything else before we go?

Speaker 1 (40:09):
No, I think that's about it.
We covered social media, wecovered Warzone.
That's pretty much all we setout to do.

Speaker 2 (40:13):
Yeah, we hope you had fun at well.
Should this come out before orafter Pre-Comic Book Day, what
do you think?

Speaker 1 (40:19):
or after free comic book day, what do you think we
could put it up?

Speaker 2 (40:21):
before.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
Okay, we'll do that, yeah, yeah yeah, so check us out
free comic book day May 3rd,lawrenceville, here in Gwinnett
County and if we release thisafter, we hope you enjoyed
seeing us at free comic book day.
We enjoyed seeing you.
We hope you're liking thecontent.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Anyways, I'm Mitch.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
I'm.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
Tom, catch you next time.

Speaker 1 (40:43):

I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
