Welcome to Epic Book Club! This season, we're reading and talking about The Iliad, Homer's tale of fury and betrayal during the Trojan War. Before we get into the book itself, we like to check in on our experience before reading, take a snapshot of our impressions, expectations, and memories.
You can, too! What impressions do you have of The Iliad? Have you read some or all of it? What are you looking forward to in reading it with us?
We're mainly going to use Caroline Alexander's 2015 translation, but we also talk about Richmond Lattimore's 1951 translation and Robert Fitzgerald's 1974 translation.

Finally, we're new to podcasting, and we're learning a ton about recording, engineering, mixing and mastering, and everything it takes to make a podcast sound good. We know this episode isn't the best audio quality in the world, but we're working on improving that. Hopefully, you'll hear our growth over the next few episodes.
Thanks for joining us! Let's read epic books, and live epic lives!
