SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
This is Equip the
Next, and you're listening to
Faith Fuel, Quick Encouragementfor Bold Living.
Ever come home from an eventfired up only to lose steam by
Monday?
You don't want to miss this.
(00:53):
Like, how to start when you feelstuck?
You see, your faith isn't meantto peak at a mountaintop.
It's meant to carry you in theeveryday, the ups, the downs,
the highs, the lows.
Confidence grows when you bringwhat you've learned on Sunday or
what you've learned in aconference or whatever into your
(01:17):
everyday routine.
And sometimes in life, we canfeel stuck.
We can feel stuck in the mud,you know, or stuck in quicksand.
But we have to learn that pacingand small steps are key.
They're important.
(01:37):
I actually looked up what youshould do if you were stuck in
quicksand.
Because I was just curious.
Because I felt like sometimes wemight feel, or you might even
somebody might listen, belistening to this.
I like to say we, but you mightfeel like you're stuck.
You don't know which directionto go in.
(01:59):
You heard a good message, it wasgreat.
That's the experience.
But what about the lifestyle?
Can you bring that into yourlifestyle?
And you might be feeling likeyou're stuck in quicksand.
But when I was reading to dosome research on how do you get
out of quicksand, it was notedthat quicksand is a lot scarier
(02:21):
in the movies, but it actuallyisn't that scary.
It's when, or the danger comeswhen we panic and we get
exhausted.
One of the main tips was to, youknow, in quicksand,
understanding quicksand isdenser than water, so you won't
sink completely unless youstruggle violently.
(02:42):
And panicking and thrashingmakes you sink deeper.
But instead breathe slowly andfocus on staying still.
If possible, perhaps drop someheavy items like backpacks or
bags or shoes or anything youcan to lessen the weight.
Spread your arms and legs toincrease your surface area and
(03:07):
float more easily.
Slowly lean back so you're notlying on your back.
And there's other steps, but Iwant to kind of unpack this a
little bit.
This faith feel might be alittle longer than most.
Because you might be goingthrough or feeling like you're
in quicksand and you cannot getout.
The first thing you have to knowis that don't panic.
(03:29):
It just makes it worse.
It really does.
Don't panic.
Understand that God has you andHe can carry the load.
So panicking and and sometimes, especially if you try to make a
decision while you panic, wetend to make the wrong decision.
Now there are times where wehave to be on you know fight or
(03:53):
flight mode and we are able toadjust.
But talking about if you werejust stuck in quicksand, I loved
how there was this um anothertip of if possible to drop the
heavy items off of you to makeit make you lighter.
Because a lot of times whenyou're in you're stuck and
(04:14):
you're in quicksand, you havethese this baggage and heavy
loads.
But when you release that andyou let it go, you'll already
feel that the load is light.
Another thing that it wasmentioned that I just had to
stop right there and and focuson was spread it your arms and
(04:37):
legs.
I I love the spread your armspart part because when you're in
your praise posture, most of thetime what do we do?
We lift up our hands.
It's a form of surrender.
Have you surrendered to theLord?
Have you gave it to him?
Or are you trying to fight andyou are being exhausted because
(04:59):
you are in quicksand and you arewondering why you can't get out?
I challenge you to give it tohim.
Because he can show you thepath, you can pray and ask him
for wisdom to get you afloat.
(05:20):
I pray that was a blessing toyou.
Listen, that's all I have foryou today during this faith
fuel.
Remember, grow in God's word andlead boldly.
