important steps that you cantake.

in the blank type stuff for youto just apply your situation to
(02:02):

slash books.

All right, now let's dive intowhat we said we talk about today
.
What is the one step you cantake today to start your year
right and get you closer to thatjob offer?
(02:22):
All right, the answer is turnyour interview prep upside down.
Here's what I mean by that.
Change your approach and starttoday.
So change your approach andstart today.
Sometimes, approach, sometimes Iuse the word mindset, but
here's what I mean by that.
Oftentimes I'll hear peoplelike I, coach, or just anyone.
I talk to their questions intheir head.
Right, they're thinking well,I'm not sure where to start.
(02:44):
Or maybe you're worried thatyou're not sure what questions
the interviewer is going to askyou.
Maybe you're stressed thatyou're not confident enough or
you're not going to stand outagainst others.
I mean, hey, most people are, most people are thinking that,
but if you change your approach,it alleviates a lot of that, a
lot of that stress andfrustration.
I talk about this all the time.
Changing your approach andreally your mindset is the first
(03:05):
and most important step thatyou can take, because everything
else follows Meaning.
You need to recognize that aninterview is not about answering
whatever questions they ask.
It is about telling theinterviewer what you need to
tell them, going in with anintentional plan to share the
most important things about you.
So, practically speaking, what's that look like to share
(03:25):
the most important things aboutyou?
So, practically speaking, what's that look like.
During your prep, you need toidentify all the important
examples, stories, qualitiesabout yourself, why you want the
job, your experience, yourexcitement.
Know yourself, in other words, and study that like crazy.
Know yourself and everythingabout you that you want to share
.
That's what's most important,not worrying about what they're
going to ask you, because then,no matter what questions you get
(03:47):
, you just fit that into whatyou need to fit that into the
question that they ask.
It doesn't really matter whatquestion they ask.
Sure, you have to, you have tomake it make sense, but I teach
you how to do that in theseepisodes, in the free resources
on the website or if you sign upfor coaching with me.
We talk a lot about how to dothis really well, change your
approach or mindset and thenjust start today.
(04:08):
So here's another, even reallyeven more practical thing you
can do right now Grab your phone, a notebook, whatever make a
file titled interview examplesand then just keep a close by
and that's it.
And then anytime this week, next week, a month from now,
anytime you have a thought orsome great feedback from your
boss, maybe your project goessouth and you have a negative
(04:28):
example, whatever pull out yourphone or notebook and add a few
quick notes that'll help youremember the situation later,
even months later, right whenyou're doing your formal
interview prep, whenever thattime might come.
Help future you by startingwith that simple step today.
Grab your phone notebook, makea file titled interview examples
(04:50):
and keep it close by and beready.
So, to sum it all up, get yournew year off to a great start
with those two simple steps.
Change your approach and howyou think about interviews and
start today.
