Restoring the Republic: Why America Must Return to Founding Principles and Civics

Amid a national crisis of lawlessness, cultural decline, and institutional corruption, one truth remains clear: the United States must return to its founding principles if we hope to preserve the republic. These principles—rooted in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bible—once formed the moral and legal backbone of American society. Today, however, they’ve been replaced with relativism, entitlement, and rebellion against God-ordained order.

The Founders understood that self-governance could only survive among a virtuous, educated, and morally grounded people. As John Adams warned, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Yet modern America has largely abandoned this foundation. Civics education has been replaced with gender ideology and grievance politics, while reverence for law and justice has been undermined by woke district attorneys and globalist elites.

Recent events only highlight this decay. In Cincinnati, a mob of teens beat a helpless man as bystanders encouraged the violence . No reverence for life, law, or neighbor—just raw chaos. Meanwhile, in a twisted display of judicial insanity, an illegal alien not only avoided deportation but successfully filed a restraining order against ICE—then went on a violent crime spree . These are not isolated incidents. They are symptoms of a nation unmoored from truth.

Contrast this with the heartening data from Pew Research showing a 44-point shift in just two years among young men moving toward conservative values . It signals that many Americans are waking up. They're rejecting the cultural Marxism infecting our institutions and seeking a return to order, justice, and freedom under God. But revival won’t come by accident. It requires intentional action—starting with education.
