(00:03):
In El Salvador. Across Land America, there are tales of a dog,
a dog the size of a horse, with red eyes, matted black fur,
and chains that drag across the groundas it walks. Sometimes the smell
of sulfur accompanies this dog. Onething is certain, if you see this
dog, you don't have much timeleft. I'm Christina and this is espooky

(00:25):
stories, and today I'm telling youabout an encounter with elk Home. Listen
escucha if you dare. Antonio wasa hard working man, like his father
and older brother. He needed tobe. He had a family to feed.

(00:49):
Like every hard working man, healso needed a little break before going
home after a long day in thesun. Every man needed a break,
a drink or two at the cantina. It was just what men did.
He always thought he'd go straight homeafter work to see his kids and his
wife, spent time with them beforethey went to bed. This was something

(01:11):
he always wanted from his own father. He used to spend hours waiting at
the door for him. He usedto tell himself he wouldn't keep his own
children waiting like that. But timeswere different now. He was a man,
a man that needed time to relaxa bit before going home. Home
was around the corner anyway, Andit's not like he did this every night.

(01:34):
And you know what, he wasthere when it mattered. He didn't
miss the important days that mattered.Never mind that he'd only be gone for
a little bit anyway, at leastthat's what he told himself. That little
bit got longer and longer, andit was now late at night. Antonio

(01:55):
was drinking and having a good time. The bar closed and he and his
friends had no choice but to headhome. They were walking on the cobblestone
roads of Naui SalCo, just agroup of hard working drunk men heading home
in the same direction. At leastthey were until Antonio had the urge to

(02:15):
pee. His friends wanted to waitfor him, but he told them it
was fine, he'd catch up later. He stopped and his friends went on.
If he had a watch, he'dknow that it was already past midnight
and this was not a good hourto be out and about. Antonio's Aulita

(02:36):
always warned him about being out lateat night, especially out late at night
and alone, but he was toodrunk to remember this. Antonio was done
and continued stumbling on his friends nowhereto be seen. He thought he heard
noises behind him, but he keptwalking. He did not want to turn

(02:58):
around to check. He heard growlingand the sound of hoops on the cobblestone.
He walked a little faster to getaway, but the noises didn't stop.
Whatever this was was following him.Antonio decided to turn around, and
there it was a giant black dogwith thick, matted, tangled fur at

(03:21):
an odor like no other. Thisdog smelled rotten like sulfur. It was
the size of a horse, withpiercing red eyes at a chain that dragged
along the road as it walked. He turned his back to this creature and
he ran, afraid for his life. The creature did not like this,

(03:43):
and it chased Antonio down. Antoniothought he was running faster than did this
thing, and it was suddenly nowhereto be seen. He slowed down,
caught his breath, and took anotherstep, but when he looked up,
it was in front of him.The giant dog stood and Antonio screamed.

(04:04):
He knew what this was. Thiswas not a dog. This was He
wanted to run, but it wastoo late. He was being attacked.
The dog kicked and hit him andnever bit him. It was abnormally strong.
The attack continued and Antonio thought surelysomeone would pass by and save him.

(04:27):
No one came, and Ilgajo attackeduntil Antonio could no longer breathe.
