(00:16):
Foreign what's up? Everybody?
Another week closer, pre season.
Week two. There's like 12 gamesgoing on today. Hope you're
enjoying them, looking for thoseinjuries. That's always the key
for me is all right, I knowthey're gonna play one and two
series, but who's gettinginjured just blew up my entire
plan, and I have to redo all mytop 20s. Speaking of top 20s,
we're gonna do the top 20 widereceivers now. And this is the
(00:39):
first of a three part series. Iusually go all the way to 60
wide receivers that way. Ifyou're in a best ball League,
like I am, and a lot of otherpeople for that matter, then
you'll know who to pick from.
All right, so top 20 widereceivers, the standard
assumptions are going to apply.
We're talking PPR leagues. We'retalking guys who are going to
play at least 16 games. We don'treally factor in injuries,
although I'm going to touch onthat for sure. We'll throw in
(01:00):
some strength of schedule stuff.
We'll talk about some bye weekissues, you know, potential guys
to just completely avoid. Solet's jump right into it. Number
one, as a big shocker, is JamarChase. Now this guy's probably
going to push 2000 yards thisyear, 17 touchdowns. Sounds like
a lot. I mean, honestly, if hiscohort, Higgins, can stay
healthy, Higgins might steal acouple of those, and we'll talk
(01:20):
about Higgins a little bitlater, because he's going to be
prevalent in this list, that'sfor sure. But Jamar Chase number
one overall. All confidencethere for the number two wide
receiver. I struggle with thisone a little bit, but I went
with CD lamb, and he's going toget Dak back. He's got Pickens
on the other side to draw awaysome coverage, so maybe he won't
see double coverage as much, although Pickens really is not
anywhere near CD lambs, talentcaliber CD lamb. I think if he's
(01:42):
healthy, Dak is healthy, he getsback up into those 1415,
touchdowns. And he pushes fornumber two, that's kind of an
easy, no brainer. And numberthree, I have st brown. You
know, I'm a Detroit fan. Iactually thought he might fall
one or two steps here, but I'mgonna keep him in number three,
even though I see JemisonWilliams coming on strong this
year, possibly getting into thetop 20 more on that later. But I
(02:05):
still think even with a newoffensive coordinator, Detroit
continues to push the ball goodoffice there. I think it still
sets him up for at least topthree, top five and number four.
I have Justin Jefferson now. Iknow he's a little bit banged
up. I think he's going to startthe season just fine, even if he
misses the first week. I stillthink he finishes his number
four. He's going to get doubledigit touchdowns. I'm a little
(02:26):
bit worried about JJ McCarthy, though I think he's got, you
know, some rookie issues, someaccuracy issues. He hasn't seen
all the defenses yet. They'regoing to have to kind of bring
him in. But as we saw withdarnold last year, Jefferson
makes everyone look better. SoI'm not worried about JJ
McCarthy, but I do think if yougrab Jefferson at the four spot,
and you're not going to pass itby, if he's available, you're
(02:47):
going to have to temper yourexpectations just a little bit.
He might finish like seven oreight overall, but this isn't a
guy you can just pass on. Youhave to grab him. That's why I
have him at number four. Atnumber five, I have Drake
London. It's really not asurprise, actually, because last
year he finished number five. Idon't think he can break into
the top four unless, of course,Justin Jefferson falls back. You
know, Aman RA has some problems, those kinds of things. I don't
(03:10):
think he can get there. Lastyear he saw 158 targets. That's
a lot. Does he push for 170potentially, I think he's going
to move up in his total points, but I'm not sure he cracks the
top five. I do have him out infront of Brian Thomas, who was
number four last year, so that'skind of a big deal, in my mind,
but London, he'll probably havedouble digit touchdowns this
(03:32):
year, probably push 1400 yards.
That makes him a solid numberfive overall and number six. I
have neighbors. This is adangerous pick. He's got a
shoulder injury right now. He'snursing that. He needs time to
get together with his newquarterback. You know,
everything's pretty much new. Asfar as I'm concerned. In New
York, every year, it is becausethey just stink. But the bottom
(03:54):
line is, is he's going to betargeted like he was last year
170 times. Are they going tohave more success with new
quarterback? Yes, I think theywill. So that's why I think at
number six, he should be justfine. And last year he was
number six as well, so thatwasn't really a shocker. And
number seven, I have BrianThomas, so I have him pulling
back a little bit from lastyear. I think the addition of
(04:14):
Hunter, new staff question atrunning back, to be honest. And
I think there's so much at stakeright now for Jacksonville. I
think everybody's going to getcanned. I thought they were
going to late last year, andthey held on to a couple of
people. But I mean, seriously, they could clean house this year
if Jacksonville doesn't make theplayoffs. And I like Thomas a
lot. I think, though, with poorquarterback play, this could be
(04:34):
an issue. I wouldn't pass on himat number seven, but that's
where I have him. You couldeasily see him fall outside of
the top 10, though, this year,at number eight, I have
Courtland Sutton. Now last yearhe finished just outside the top
10. I think in number 11, thisyear, I have him inside the top
10, and I think that's with goodreason. Onix is looking great. I
think you're gonna see moretargets for Sutton. He's really
(04:56):
showing that he is a highcaliber wide receiver. He only
had eight. Touchdowns last year.
I think he pushes double digitsthis year. You give him 150
targets, he catches 100 balls,1011, touchdown, pushes 1200
yards. I mean, that's easily atop 10 finish. So I haven't met
number eight, number nine. Ihave nakua, and I think he's
gonna make a comeback this year.
Yeah, Stafford's kind ofhurting. But you know, even with
(05:18):
the issues of last year, evenwith the fact that he was a
little bit banged up, he stillput up some really, really nice
numbers while he played. I mean,he was averaging almost 19
points a game. That's reallyhuge. So if he can stay healthy,
stay away from those kneeinjuries, you know, hopefully he
doesn't have anythingcatastrophic. But if he can stay
healthy, I mean, he's going topush 150 targets, maybe 100
(05:39):
catches, double digittouchdowns, and that's with
Adams on the other side. Andthat's another reason why I have
him here in the top 10, becauseAdams draws coverage away from
nakua. They're both top widereceivers and Stafford's just
blessed by looking one side ofthe other. I mean, he lost cup,
and now he gets Adams. So, Imean, I'm looking at nakua here
to finish top 10, and I think aneasy no brainer, and number 10.
(06:01):
I know it sounds crazy. I have THiggins. Now let's talk about
this. In the history of the NFLis extremely rare, extremely
rare for wide receiver teammatesto both finish in the top 10 in
a PPR or fantasy football forthat matter. Last time it
happened was Hill and waddleback in 2022, and then you got
(06:22):
to push it back like 2030, yearsto the old, if you were playing
fantasy football back in the90s, Herman Moore type Detroit
Lions. So honestly, it's kind offunny. When you look at the
statistics on this to put tHiggins this high is kind of
crazy. You know, I'm taking alittle bit of a risk here, but
what I can say is he only played12 games last year, and he
(06:44):
almost had 19 points per game.
So if he can push that, he plays1516, games, sees like maybe 130
targets. I mean, that couldeasily put him in there, if he
has double digit touchdowns.
Again, it's not really that bigof a deal now, Jamar Chase.
Would he pull back in this case?
I don't think so. Because whenHiggins was gone last year, they
(07:04):
had to find other guys, like yoShabazz and everyone else to sub
in. But with Higgins on thefield, they pushed the ball more
he gets more points. I couldeasily see Higgins in number 10.
Now, Higgins is not going as the10th guy off the board. He's
going somewhere in like thethird round, maybe even the
fourth round. Depends on whatyour league is. Could be early
(07:25):
third, it could be late third.
It could be early fourth. Whenyou look at his ADP versus the
kind of value he can return, that's huge. He's usually going
right before Tyree kill. I wouldtake Higgins over hill at this
point. I think he'll he might beon a downward spiral. I don't
know about Hill, right? Andthat's a good segue. So that's
your top 10. All right, let'stake a pause and talk about just
(07:45):
like we did with the runningbacks. I don't really care if
any one of these guys from liketwo through nine swab three
places, either way, I'm happywith all 10 of these guys. I
think if you have anybody in thetop seven, you should dominate
with that. And you know, eight, nine and 10, they all have the
ability to get into the topseven, even top five with some
(08:06):
injuries in front of them, obviously, chase all by himself
at the top of the mountain, aslong as he's healthy, that's the
best pick you can have, especially if in the first round
and somebody takes a runningback in front of you. You're the
number two pick. You're like,Yes, I'll take Jamar Chase. I'm
not unhappy with anybody in thefirst 10 picks, if I get one of
those. So if they fall out ofthe top 10, they go to like 12
(08:26):
or 14. It's still a solid pick.
I just want them to be healthy, because these guys can put up
monster numbers for you, averaging somewhere between
1819, even 20 points a game. Andthat's a difference maker. And a
lot of these guys can actuallywin your week for you,
especially like guys like Jamarchase with 44 points. I will say
one thing about Malik neighbors, the number six pick he has by
(08:48):
week 14. Traditionally, week 14is championship week for the
regular season. So if you're youknow, if you're depending on him
to win you the season you'regoing into it, the last week you
got neighbors. You're like, Oh,I just got to win this one.
It'll get me in the playoffs.
(09:09):
He's not going to be there. Andthat's tough. I mean, everyone
gets bye weeks, and you have todeal with that, but having it on
that particular week, that'srough. All right, let's talk
about picks 11 through 20. Atnumber 11, I have Nico Collins,
and Nico looked really goodtoday. If you watched him on TV,
he looked fantastic. Caught atouchdown. Obviously, when this
(09:30):
guy is healthy, he is one of thebest, and having him at 11 is
almost like a slap in the face, because the guy averages almost
18 points a game when he's onthe field, seven touchdowns and
over 1000 yards before he gothurt. Last year, he only played
12 games. He still finished inlike the top what, 2625
wide receivers with only 12games. So if he gives you a full
(09:52):
season, which we're trying toassume, you know, he's, I
haven't been number Well, 11,but it was so hard to squeeze
him into the top 10, I think. Sohe could replace like Sutton
Nicole, he could push those guysdown. I just think that those
guys are going to havetremendous years, and I think
Houston's going to struggle abit, because let's face it, Nico
is the only receiver, in myopinion. I know there's a couple
(10:13):
others, but Nico is really theguy who they have to push the
ball with. The running game iskind of suspect without mixing,
and the defense looks prettygood. O line could use some
help. And Stroud, he's got someconfidence issues, so if they
start out strong, Nico, healthy.
I mean, he could easily push top10. And I have him at 11. I
think if you can grab him andhe's going off early in the
second round, that's anoutstanding pick. At number 12,
(10:35):
I have JSN. Now I know JSN ispartnered with Donald. And I
don't like Donald, and that'snot a secret to anybody, but
they look good today. Inpreseason game two, had some
good chemistry. They're pushingthe ball well. They've got some
good pieces around them, especially with cup there. Cup
is going to draw some somecoverage away from JSN, the
(10:57):
running game looks strong. Iknow it's pre season, but you
know, with a new quarterback, you would think, okay, things
are going to get a little bitcrazy. They might not be on the
same page right now, they looklike they are. Jason last year
had a really strong year. He wasin the top 10. I think he pushes
for that again this year. Cupmight pull a little bit from
(11:18):
him. I mean, he only he only hehad 137 targets last year and
six touchdowns. I think Jason isgoing to get more touchdowns. He
could easily push for a top 10.
But when you look at where he'sgoing off, as far as ADP is
concerned, he's coming off inthe third round. If you can get
a top 12 guy in the third round, that's really good value. So if
(11:39):
you can get him, I would go grabhim. And number 13, I've got lad
McConkey. Now, I like ladMcConkey a lot. I think he's
great, and I would have had hima little bit higher, except they
just picked up Keenan Allen.
Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkeyhave a very similar skill set.
They're both great hands, andthey run shorter routes. Keenan
Allen, he used to be a deeperthreat, but I don't think he's
(12:03):
got that in him anymore. So Ithink this offense is going to
look like running, running, running, with some short throws.
Now, Ladd, he's got a little bitmore speed than Keenan does, and
he's a lot younger, so if hestays healthier, which I think
he will, versus Keenan Allen, Ithink he's going to see similar
numbers as he did last year.
Last year he finished in the top15, and I have him at 13, so I
(12:26):
don't think he really goesanywhere. I just think he stays
put. But I mean, 13 is a reallygood place for him to be at 14.
I have Jacoby Myers. This isn'tthat big of a stretch. Last year
he did finish in the top 20. Ijust think he's going to get a
little bit more love with Ginoat quarterback this year, I
think he's going to see about a10% uptick in targets, probably
two more touchdowns. And if therunning game is successful,
(12:50):
they'll push the ball and he'llget more opportunities in the
red zone. And I think that's whyhe makes that leap and finds
himself at 14, at 15, I haveMcLaurin now. McLaurin, there
was an update for him. He justcame off of the public list, so
he can technically start topractice if he wants to. I think
his whining and crying about hiscontract and everything. I mean,
(13:12):
he's 30 years old, or he will benext month. He's still an
outstanding contributor. I mean,he had 13 touchdowns last year,
117 targets. That's a reallygood target to touchdown ratio.
That's pretty awesome. I thinkhe takes a step back from that.
I think he sees maybe 10touchdowns. He might push more
yardage, but he's going to dropin touchdowns. I think you're
(13:33):
going to see that this year. Andif he doesn't play week one,
that makes him a danger, becauselast year he played all 17
games. At number 16, I haveJerry Judy. This is a dangerous
pick. Last year, Clevelanddidn't have much to play for,
but they had a quarterback whohad no problem throwing the ball
because they just didn't care.
And what did he see? 145targets, four touchdowns.
(13:54):
There's not a lot of touchdownsin Cleveland, and their running
game is kind of suspect rightnow, coaching, I mean, the whole
organization is it's not in agood place. Jerry Judy, though
immensely talented, whateverquarterback he's going to have
thrown into him, and I haven'teven have they figured out who
they're going to be. I thinkit's Flacco right now. But I
(14:14):
mean, Flacco, he loves to throwthe ball. He's got really good
accuracy too. So I see JerryJudy, in a healthy season,
pushing for the same numbersthat he had last year, maybe a
couple extra touchdowns. I'mgoing to give him that. That's
why I have him popping up to 16at 17. Mr. Dependable. Mike
Evans, and I love Mike Evans. Ithink He's as old as I am, but
(14:36):
he's still getting it done.
Double digit touchdowns. Was itlast three years running? I
think he's He's great 110targets, only played 14 games
last year, and that's what youget with Mike Evans. He's going
to have a game or two. He'sgoing to be injured once or
twice during the season. Nothingserious, hopefully, but he's
probably not going to play all17 games. For you. That's not a
(14:58):
bad thing, because he's still.
Puts up 17 points a game whenhe's in there, he can be a
difference maker for you allright, at number 18, boy, this
is a reach, but I feel goodabout it. I have Ted McMillan.
Ted McMillan obviously rookie,so putting him in the top 20,
that's, that's a big deal,right? But he's really the only
option on that team. And Ithink, I mean, he's a beast. And
(15:18):
if he gets 150 targets, I say hegets double digit touchdowns, I
think he's going to be thebreakout Rookie of this year. I
could be totally wrong. This isa dangerous pick. I have him at
18. There's so many guys whocould go here. You could put
Tyree kill here at 18, AJ Brown,if, if AJ brown gets healthy, I
don't know if he's gonna gethealthy. Dahansa Smith, I mean,
(15:39):
there's so many people you couldput in here at 18, but I really
have the hope that this kid isgoing to be there. It's
opportunities. There potentialis there. It's really based on
his quarterback and Caroline isgoing to be playing behind a lot
if he gets those opportunities.
There's a chance he could, hecould turn it into something.
(16:00):
All right, at number 19, I haveDavante Adams. Yes, I have two
rams receivers in the top 20.
It's happened before. Don't besurprised by it. He's on a new
team, and he is still asdominant as anyone in the NFL.
He can go up and get thosecontested balls. I mean, last
year, even with Rogers lookingterrible, terrible, he put up
(16:22):
over 1000 yards and eighttouchdowns, 141 targets. He's
gonna see something similar tothat. I know Nicole is probably
gonna get a little bit morelove, but Davante Adams, if they
single cover him, the ball isgoing that way. It is. So I see
him finishing in the top 20, andI have him at 19, which is about
six spots less than he did lastyear. So I see a little bit of a
(16:45):
pullback, but still a top 20wide receiver, all right? And
number 20. And last but notleast, I have Jameson Williams.
There you go, dang. There it is.
Another two wide receiverteammates in the top 20 is
Detroit. That's right, and Iknow I'm just going to get a lot
of hate here because I'm aDetroit fan, but I'm not wrong.
(17:09):
Jameson Williams finished at 22last year, and he only played 15
games. If you give him 1617,games, he's going to get there.
He's going to get right there tonumber 20, and I think he's
gonna outperform Hill, who hasissues, and all those other guys
I haven't talked about yet, andthere's plenty of other guys to
talk about, because this is onlythe top 20 show. So you're gonna
(17:32):
have to tune in next time tolisten to 21, through 40. And
with that, that's the end of ourshow for today. As always, I
wanna give a shout out to themen and women in uniform who
