The Tapered Issuance Burn narrows the range where staking turns unprofitable, but solo stakers may still hit negative yield first. Introduced on August 4, 2026, the issuance burn seeks to burn validator consensus layer rewards along a new issuance curve that hits 0% once 50% of all ETH is staked.
