All right, welcome to season 19 where I'm talking all about
different decks and how to use them.
If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, you can check
those out. And today I'm talking about the
It's Grow Time Deck 48 cards forDo good, Feel good business
(02:10):
owners by Chantelle Davis Gray. So I'll get into the style of
the deck where I got it. Any changes from the writer?
Waiters Smith, traditional tarotstructure?
I'll talk about the imagery, what I like to use it for, and
anything I wouldn't use it for. So First off, the style of the
duck. I would say it's sort of like a
(02:30):
affirmation duck. Let's see what she says on the
back. Oh yeah, do good and feel good.
Running a heart centered business like yours can be a
roller coaster. Affirmations are so helpful and
grounding when I'm overwhelmed, so I'm sharing some of my faves
with you. I also love simple actions to
guide and inspire when I'm feeling lost.
Combine this deck is your do good feel good compass so you
(02:52):
can step forward to boldly and compassionately grow your
business. And you can find
this@chantelledavisgray.com. So it has 48 cards.
So right, It's not, I guess it could be considered an Oracle
deck, but sort of affirmations decks, I would say have their
own category to some extent. I got the deck direct from
(03:16):
Chantelle Davis Gray. I was one of like a beta launch
of folks that got this deck. My review is on the website.
If you want to go to chantelledavisgray.com/it's grow
time to find the duck. And I feel like it's a great
duck for business owners. Again, any holistic business
(03:39):
owners, small business owners, anything like that?
So Chantelle Davis Gray, actually, I record an episode
with them on the podcast. So you'll get to be hearing from
them in about a week or two and those episodes go live.
But Chantelle is a graphic designer and they create ducks
for folks. They help folks create them
(04:01):
through programs that they have by creating custom card ducks.
And some of those programs are, you know, pretty led by
Chantelle, and she helps do a lot of the artwork or folks kind
of completely design them on their own.
And she just kind of helps them walk them through the process to
printing. And so this is a deck that
Chantelle actually made herself. This is her first deck, I
(04:24):
believe. And yeah, she loves to work
with, like she says, do good, feel good business owners.
And so that's kind of who the deck is for.
So I got it online. I know Chantal Davis Gray
through some other like interconnected colleagues and we
kind of met up virtually to get to know each other for a little
(04:48):
coffee date. And then I was super interested
in getting them on the podcast. And when I use their deck, they
often are in my Instagram comments talking about how they
love to see how I interpret it. So it was sort of a match made
in heaven. I love that.
So if you're also, if you're interested in making a deck,
check her out because she's madetons of ducks.
(05:13):
I talked and we talked about it on our podcast episode.
So you can check that out soon. But anyway, what else about the
duck? So that's where I got it, the
style. So the other thing about the
style is that the back of the cards, instead of having like a
static image, they have either feel good or do good.
Feel good has three hearts and it says feel good and then do
(05:35):
Good has three stars and it saysdo good.
So she actually has some introduction cards at the
beginning that say Chantelle's adesigner for do good, feel good
businesses, Squarespace websites, branding and custom
card decks. And then so suggestions for the
cards says they're designed to help you feel good.
The action cards are designed tohelp you do good.
(05:56):
No need to stress or put pressure on yourself for how
often you pull a card or how many you pull at a time.
So you can pull one card of eachgood every week.
You can mix the goods together and pull one card every day.
You could pull a feel good everyMonday and a do good every
Friday or any way that works foryou.
And actually, I generally the way I use this duck is like a
(06:17):
tarot deck or an Oracle duck where I shuffle them all
together and you know, maybe I have my prompts and I just put
them all together. So that's sort of how I do it, I
guess. So there are lots of changes
from the right to wait Smith. It's not a tarot deck, it's not
78 cards, it's 48 cards. They're much smaller than a
(06:39):
traditional tarot deck. They're actually the, I would
say the exact size of like playing cards, so a bit smaller,
slightly more square than a tarot deck.
So they're super easy to shuffle.
I think the imagery, the back ofthe cards are black with white,
like I said, hearts or stars. And then they say feel good or
(07:01):
do good in like what looks like to me, one of those like not a
laminator, but like a label maker.
It's like as if you put a label maker feel good on the back of
the card and then on the front they are either pink background
or black background, I think depending on whether they are
feel good or do good. So yeah, do good is black
(07:21):
background, feel good is pink background.
And then they say things like express gratitude to someone who
supported you in the last few months.
Here's a feel good one. I am not for everyone and not
everyone is for me. So yeah, it's more of like a
affirmation duck. So again, you could pull one
every day. You could use it like an Oracle
(07:42):
and do spreads. I have also used it.
So other ways I like to use it are when I've run a networking
group with other business owners.
It's great for that. I've actually bought some as
presents for other business owners who are into witchy
Terrell Oracle stuff like I am because it's super fun to have a
(08:03):
deck that you can kind of use inmore of like a business context.
Here's one that's a do good. It says have a one song long
dance party. So yeah, just really kind of
different things to, yeah, affirm you and your business.
It's hard running a small business or any sort of business
(08:23):
on your own or on a smaller scale.
So yeah, anything I wouldn't useit for, I mean, you know, it's
not traditional tarot. I wouldn't use it if someone's
maybe like looking for a traditional tarot wants some
familiarity or is maybe not a business owner, it might not be
as applicable or kind of for like more traditional spreads.
(08:46):
Like I'm trying to think I'm like a month ahead spread.
You could definitely use it for,you could use it in like
business planning. So maybe that's, I think I
brought it last time I do quarterly planning with some
colleagues of mine, Izzy, who does the full moon circles with
me and Doris and spoiler alert, we're actually going to start a
podcast together coming in 2026.So get excited for that.
(09:08):
But I brought it last time we had our quarterly planning where
we plan our individual businesses and kind of use each
other as a brainstorming or kindof like a way to not just like
be in our own little own little world all the time.
But yeah, so you could use that business.
(09:29):
I feel like you could definitelybring it to like, yeah,
networking meetings or any otherholistic business get togethers.
I feel like you could even have it at like a tabling event where
maybe it's business to business as a way to kind of like affirm
folks. There's so many ways.
I think so very few things I wouldn't use it for.
(09:51):
But again, it's a pretty in someways compared to some of my
other ducks, it's more niche, right?
It's business owners, it's affirmations, it's less cards,
but I also really like it. And it's like a fun addition to
my ducks, especially as someone who is my, you know, a small
business owner and most of the time a therapist.
(10:16):
I see clients, but most of the time when I'm making business
decisions and stuff like that, that's me on my own in my
office, in my own little world. I'm trying to figure stuff out.
So I'm going to go ahead and give this quick shuffle to see
what message this deck has for us today.
I will link to Chantelle Davis Gray's website where you can
(10:36):
find the deck and other servicesthey provide in like making your
own decks. So that's super cool.
I love it. They say that they have one deck
of everyone that they've made, even though they mostly, you
know, work virtually. So I think that's really cool
that they're helping others facilitate making their own
(10:58):
decks, even though they're not super like tarot Oracle forward
in their own life. So I love that.
OK, I shuffled like a million times.
Let's see here. OK, so I pulled a do good card
and it says schedule a virtual coffee or tea chat.
So that's our message for today.Schedule a chat with someone.
(11:19):
This is great because it works for anyone, not just business
owners, right? Someone you've been a mentor
maybe that you're interested in working with someone that's, you
know, maybe you met like me at aholiday party or something and
you're like, oh, I want to like get to know them more, hear
about them, see what they're up to, anything like that.
Maybe I'll also pull a feel goodone since we had the option.
(11:41):
It says I grow and learn from every experience.
And it has like a nice little looks like almost like a
dandelion flower in the background.
Yeah. And I love this deck because
it's like hot pink and black. Very fun aesthetic.
I would say so Yeah, love that. OK, well, we're keeping it short
(12:04):
today, just like this deck. Highly recommend.
Super fun. Love Chantelle.
So reach out to them, work with them, maybe I'll make a deck
someday. Maybe you want to make a deck
and you've been looking for someone to do that.
So check them out. So links for the tarot decks I
talk about will always be in theshow notes and on my website if
you'd like to look at them or purchase them.
(12:25):
